Cheri and I both put in a bad night. Cheri got up in the night and went out on the couch to try and sleep. I have been awake since 3:00 am. So we were a little slow getting going today. This morning we took a stool sample over to the hospital for Grandpa. Thought all we had to do was drop it off. It turned out we had to wait to be called to the desk and have paper work filled out. It took us 45 minutes to get this done, nothing is simple anymore. This afternoon Bud Avery and I went for a motorcycle ride. We put on 120 miles. It was a lot of fun as I hadn’t been on a ride for over a month. We rode north to the Russell Stover Candy outlet store. It is the largest candy store I’ve ever been in (had to by some candy). Cheri work on a folder of the things we did for the Wisconsin Pot Luck and we will give it to the people that are going to put on the pot luck next year. It was after dark before we got our evening walk done.

I took Grandpa for his follow up doctor appointment at 8:30 am. He has to have another x-ray of his head. The first one may have showed a problem and needed another one to be sure if there is a problem. The hospital will call us with an appointment. We got back home at 10:00 am. At 10:45 am Cheri and I went to the Rec Hall to start getting things ready for the Pot Luck. Ken and Eileen came shortly afterwards. By the time we got the tables set up and brats boiled and fried on the grill it was 1:00 pm and time to eat. Everyone did a short bio and we played a couple of games. There were 29 of us from Wisconsin. By the time we got every thing cleaned up it was 4:30 pm when we got home. Every one had a good time and plans to do it again next year. Cheri and I did our evening walk and called it a day.

I took Grandpa to the back doctor for his 9:15 am appointment. He got a good report from the doctor and doesn’t have to go back for 6 weeks. Late morning Cheri and I went to Wal-Mart to pick up the brats and buns for the Wisconsin Pot Luck tomorrow, also picked up medicine for Grandma. We spent most of the afternoon updating Grandpa’s medical history on the computer. I also canceled the new camera that I had ordered; it’s been a total of 6 weeks since I order the fist one. I had ordered one and waited 4 weeks and checked on line and saw it at the same place $30.00 cheaper, so I canceled and reordered. It has now been two weeks and tried to call them and was on hold for 10 minutes. I figured something isn’t right about this place so I canceled. When I get a canceled confirmation I will order from some other place.

After church 6 of us went to Arby’s for lunch. About 1:00 pm Cheri and I went down to Ken and Eileen’s to put together a list of things we need to do for the Wisconsin Pot Luck on Tuesday. We took our evening walk and need a jacket, as it was a cool day. The rest of the day was spent reading and watching TV.

It was a gloomy damp day with some wind, rain, no sun and a high of 61 degrees. Cheri did cleaning, laundry, baked a lemon pie and a chicken casserole for supper. I played lazy, read and watched TV. This evening at 9:00 pm Grandma called and said Grandpa was having chest pains and need to go to the hospital. So we took him in, they did blood work and chest x-ray. They found his blood pressure was high, when that came down they sent him home. We got home at 11:30 pm.

This morning I picked up Dean at 6:45 am to go and get some 12”x 12” patio blocks. We went to a place that has seconds and it is a first come first served place. There was someone already there at 7:00 am and they didn’t open until 8:00am. Dean was able to get the blocks he wanted. At 10:00 am Cheri and I left with Ken and Eileen for Lakeland. They wanted to go to the telephone office to get some things changed on their telephone service. Cheri and I went to Jo-Ann Fabrics to get the burlap for Kari and Jason’s Camp Bow Wow. We also stopped and had Chinese for lunch. The next stop was the card and party store. Cheri and Eileen wanted to pick up a few things for the Wisconsin pot luck on Tuesday. It was 3:00 pm before we got home. It was a cool breezy day, 39 degrees this morning and a high of 64 degrees.

Happy 29th birthday Darren. Sure remember what the weather was like 29 years ago today. I took Cheri to the hospital late on the 23 and didn’t think we would make it for all the snow and it was still falling and very windy. By morning of the 24th most all roads were closed including most of the state roads. This morning we went for our eye appointments. We both ordered new glasses, been five years thence we have had new ones. On the way home we stopped at Wal-Mart to get groceries. This afternoon Cheri took Grandma stopping at Beal’s for new shoes. I worked on polishing and cleaning the motorcycle. Still got a lot more to do, it’s the first time I’ve giving it a good cleaning since we have been in Florida.

We got a lot of rain last night, 3.8 inches here in the park. Down town they had over 5 inches and flooding. Cheri worked on put together all the material we have for our Alaska trip. She has a three ring binder with all the things about Alaska that she has saved over the last 10 years. We plan on talking to people here in the park that has been to Alaska and find out the things they think we should see. This afternoon we walked down to Ken and Eileen’s to see how her ankle was, she said it was a lot better and was getting around pretty good. Dean and Betty came over to play dominos this evening. It was one game for the girls and one for us guys.

It was late when we took our walk this morning and stopped to see on Grandpa was. He was out walking. That was a good sign that he is feeling better. Then we stopped by Ken and Eileen’s to see if they wanted to come over to play cribbage tonight. Ken was outside getting ready to go and get some sod. So Eileen fixed us lunch then Ken and I went to Lowe’s to get sod. When we got back, we went right to work putting the sod in and giving it a good soaking. It looked nice when we got done. Ken and Eileen did come over this evening. Eileen tripped and fell here in the 5th wheel, she sprained her ankle. Cheri put ice on it while we played cribbage. We guys won 2 games and the girls won 2 and skunked us on one game.

38 degrees here this morning and warmed up to 74. It was another windy day. We went to get a tank of LP. I dropped Cheri off at the Beals Outlet store while I got the LP. When Cheri got done there we went to Beals store to look for some dress pants for me. I did find a pair. Then we stopped at Arby’s for lunch. After lunch we went to Kmart and I bought 2 pair of jeans and 2 pair of dress pants. When we got home I tried everything on and none of the dress pants fit so will take them back. When we walked this afternoon we stopped to see how Grandpa was and said he felt about the same. We decided to go to a movie this afternoon, but when we got there the parking lot was full of cars so we decide to come back home. We forgot it was a holiday.

On our way to church we stopped to see how Grandpa was doing and he said he felt better and planed on going to church until he saw how cold it was out. It was a high of 54 degrees today and very windy. After church we also spent the day inside reading and watching TV. Watched the Packers get beat. Not much to say about the game, they had opportunities and didn’t get it done.

Last evening around 6:30 pm, Grandma came over and said Grandpa wanted to go to the hospital. So we took him in and we came home at 1200 am. They were still doing test on him and it would take 2 or 3 hours. We got a call at 3:30 am saying he was ready to come home. The results were that he has diverticulitis. His colon is inflamed and infected, and has a prescription for some antibiotics. We did our morning walk at 6:00 am. We went to Wal-Mart to drop off Grandpa’s prescription and were told it would take 3 to 4 hours before it would be ready. So we went back home and took a nap. At 12:30 pm we went and pick up the medicine and a couple of things for Grandma. This after noon at 2:00 pm we went down to the Rec Hall to help set up for the pot luck supper. We were back to the Rec Hall at 5:00 pm for supper. After supper there was entertainment by the Kenney Family. They were very good and I think they will be back next year to perform for us. Cheri and I were in bed by 9:00 pm.

It was a gloomy day, one of those days when you don’t feel like doing anything and we didn’t do much. After lunch we went over to Grandpa and Grandma’s to give Grandma updates on Grandpa’s medication and to see how Grandpa was feeling. He has had a bad stomach ache and not feeling any better. From there we went down to Ken and Eileen’s to meet the Kenney Family. They are going to be our entertainment tomorrow night after the potluck dinner at the Rec Hall. This evening we went to a local church’s soup and pie supper. They had three different kinds of soup and lots of pies to pick from. The charge was a free will offering.

It rained most of the night and on and off today. It was a nice soaking rain and we needed it. Cheri took Grandma for her doctor appointment this morning and this afternoon I took Grandpa for his doctor appointment. Grandpa’s appointment was for 2:00 pm and didn’t see the doctor until 3:15 pm. The rest of the day was spent taking prescriptions to Wal-Mart and updating Grandpa and Grandma’s medical history and medication on the computer. This evening we went down to the Rec Hall for a mystery show that we were in. It took place in Deadwood and was in the late 1800. It was a good and a lot of laughs.

Today was our day. Cheri and I went to Tampa for the big RV show. We were there all day and still didn’t see everything. It was fun looking at all the new 5th wheels and finding out about new features. We still didn’t see anything we liked better than what we already have. It was 5:00 pm before we got home. We were both tired and in bed by 8:00 pm. I have uploaded pictures of Grandpa and Grandma’ new storage shed and what I did with the old one. Go to photos and storage shed to see them.

It was very cool here today with some breeze. This morning we did computer work, updating Grandpa’s medical history. Cheri made an appointment for Grandpa with the heart doctor. We went over to Grandpa and Grandma’s to explain Grandpa’s medicine change. Grandma had gone down to the Rec Hall to help out with the lunch for the shuffle tournament. So Grandpa took us down and bought us lunch. This afternoon Cheri and I went to see the movie, The Bucket List. It was an ok movie, I would rate it a 5 out of 10. This evening we went over to Dean and Betty’s to play dominoes and the girls won both games.

I took Grandpa this morning for his follow up appointment with the doctor for his dizziness. He now has to go and see his heart doctor. We tried to make an appointment, but there computers were down. Cheri and I went shopping to all the Good Will and thrift stores looking for clothes to wear to a western mysteries show that we are going to be in. We also stopped at Wal-Mart to get groceries and diesel fuel for the truck (3.29 a gallon). This evening we went down to the Rec Hall to see the Homer Noodleman Show. It was a one man comedy show and was very good, lots of laughs.

It was a quite Sunday. We went to church and had coffee and cookies afterward. We had a rain storm come through and left us with about an inch of rain. It came down real hard and lasted for about an hour. We watched football, read and took a nap. This evening we went out for pizza at a new place. It wasn’t very good and will not go there again.

Cheri kept ice on her ankle all day. She says it feels some better, but it is still swelled up. I checked on Grandpa and he said he was feeling better. I spent part of the day out and about talking to people. This afternoon I work on cleaning the motorcycle. I took it for a ride downtown to get some wax and chrome cleaner. Because of all the humidity down here I am getting some rust on the chrome, so need to give it a good cleaning. We watched the Packers play. What a game, the way it started I was sure they were going to lose.

I took Grandpa to the hospital out patient for another back injection. We had to be there at 7:00 am. Things went a lot better this time, didn’t have any problem with his blood pressure. We got home around 11:00 am. I worked on Grandpa and Grandma’s bedroom door. It took most of the afternoon to get that done. Cheri did some laundry and worked on a test painting project for Jason and Kari’s Camp Bow Wow. Cheri turned her ankle this afternoon and wasn’t able to do the evening walk. So I had to walk by myself, everybody wanted to know where Cheri was.

We took Grandpa and Grandma to the doctor for blood test, then to Wal-Mart to pickup medicine and some groceries. Grandpa and Grandma treated us to lunch at Golden Corel. This afternoon Cheri did some laundry and then went with Eileen to deliver invitations for the Wisconsin picnic here in the park. I worked on Grandpa and Grandma’s bedroom door. It is a sliding door and keeps coming off the track. So off to Lowe’s to get a new door kit, they didn’t have one, so I went to Home Depot to get one. They don’t have any for a single door. So I brought one for a double door. I have to cut one door channel out of it so it will fit. That’s a project for tomorrow. We went down to the Rec Hall this evening to welcome all the new people in the park this year. There are over 120 new people.

At 7:30 this morning I went over Bob and Diane Perkins (cousin) and removed sod and took it down to Ken and Eileen’s (cousin) for their yard. Then I went back and got a load of dirt to put around my motorcycle garage. Cheri and I went to Wal-Mart to drop off medicine bottles to be refilled for Grandpa and Grandma. Then to Lowe’s to get some aluminum paint for the vents on Grandpa and Grandma’s trailer. It’s hard to believe, but they didn’t have aluminum paint. So it was back to Wal-Mart and got it there. We stopped at Arby’s for lunch on the way home. While I painted the vents Cheri went over doctor appointments and medicine with Grandma. Ken and Eileen want to have a Wisconsin picnic here in the park, so this afternoon Cheri and I made up an invitation on the computer. There are 32 people from Wisconsin staying here for the winter.

Ken and Eileen picked us up at 11:30 am and we went to Lakeland to do some shopping and have Chinese for lunch. After lunch we went to the Mall to have Ken and Eileen’s rings checked and cleaned. Then we made a stop at Harbor Freight so I could make a return. We got home at 4:00 pm. Our evening walk took awhile as we made several stops along the way to visit. It was a relaxing day.

Cheri tried calling again this morning to get Grandpa’s appointment for an MRI and once again got the run around. So we made a trip to the hospital to get things straighten out and stated to get the run around again. That’s when I got my dandruff up and in a matter of minutes it was taken care of. The different departments don’t communicate with each other. They canceled the MRI and now have an appointment with his doctor for next Monday. This after noon Cheri went down to the Rec Hall for lunch and a style show. I put new faucets in Grandpa and Grandma’s bathroom. Then I cleaned he patio concrete with meiotic acid and the power washer. It didn’t come as clean has I wanted it to. I also cleaned and washed the golf cart.

We had an interesting day. On our way to church Cheri went to shut off her cell phone and saw she had a message from Grandpa. It came in at 10:40 pm last night and said he was going to the hospital. So we walked up by their place and saw that the van was gone. When we got to church we saw the van. Grandma was in church and said she brought Grandpa back home a 4:00 am. He has been light headed the last few days and poor balance. He decided he needed to go to the hospital. The only thing they found was that his blood pressure was very high. They kept him until his blood pressure went down and game him a prescription for dizziness. After church Cheri and I took his prescription and had it filled, it took 2 hours to get it. While we were gone the hospital called and wanted him to come in for another MRI of his head. They saw something and it wasn’t clear what it was and wants to do another MRI. Cheri called to set up the appointment, was on the phone for over an hour and never did get through. She will have to try again tomorrow. That petty much was our day.

I bought an air horn for the tuck and installed it today. Don’t think it is any louder than the stock horns. It would be a good horn for the motorcycle. Maybe later I will put it on the bike and put the stock horns back on the truck. Cheri and I washed Grandpa and Grandma’s trailer; it was 5:00 pm before we got done. It was a big job; also power washed the roof of the awing. We still have to clean the patio concrete, need to get some meiotic acid to do that. It was a good day to get that job done as it wasn’t too hot to work outside.

It was warmer this morning, 39 degrees with sun and not so breezy. It got up to 64 degrees for a high. On our morning walk we saw that Grandpa and Grandma had a flat tire on their golf cart. On our way to get LP we stopped and fixed the flat tire. I dropped Cheri off at Big Lots while I went and got a tank of LP. Then we looked at a couple of new 5th wheels that was in the Big Lots parking area. One was on sale for $86,000 and we didn’t think it was as nice as ours, although it did have some features that ours didn’t have. We stopped at Beef O Grady’s for lunch, which was very good. Then we made a stop at Lowe’s to check on materials to make a 5’x9’ easel for Cheri to paint the material for Jason and Kari’s Camp Bow Wow. When we got home we went down to Ken and Eileen’s to fix a light switch. After that was done we played three games of cribbage, the girls won two of the games.

It was another cold windy day, 27 degrees this morning and a high of 54 degrees. The morning walk was cold, but I don’t think it was as windy has yesterday. Cheri and I went out to a flea market late this forenoon. There was hardly any body there. I guess it was too cold and I don’t blame them for not being there. I wouldn’t want to be sitting out there. We went to Wal-Mart to get groceries and a new air bed for company. The old one has a leak in it. I set the new one up to make sure there were no leaks. This afternoon we stayed inside and read and watched some movies on TV.

It was cold and windy here this morning with a temp of 36 degrees and a high of 48 degrees. Thought we were going to freeze on our morning walk. It wouldn’t have been so bad if it hadn’t been for the wind. Cheri and I worked on health insurance today. We have new insurance for 2008. We did a lot of internet searching and a couple of phone calls. We finally gave up and went to a movie this afternoon. We saw Charlie Wilson’s war. It was a very good movie. This evening we skipped our walk, was still windy.

A Happy New Year to every one. May all your dreams come true in 2008. I spent part the day washing and waxing the truck. I still have the inside to clean. Cheri did some laundry. The rest of the day was spent watching football and movies on TV. It was a cool day with a high of 68 degrees. We also did our morning and evening walks.

We had scattered rain showers today and very warm, hear there is cold weather coming. Cheri and I went to Lakeland shopping for burlap cloth, to do a project for Kari and Jason’s new Camp Bow Wow (doggie day care center). They are putting up nine 4ft by 8ft panels with insulation covered with burlap to help absorb the sound of barking dogs. Kari wants Cheri to paint each panel with pine trees. So we got some of the materials to see if Cheri can do it. This afternoon we went to the movie to see National Treasure 2. It was a pretty good movie, one of the best we have seen lately. This evening we went down to Ken and Eileen’s to usher in the New Year. Grandpa and Grandma, Donna, Dean and Betty were there.
