I headed out early this morning to help Ed wash his trailer. It was a big job and we didn’t get done until 12:30 pm. Then I went to Grandma’s to wash her patio. It was 1:30 pm before I got home. After a late lunch Cheri and I sat down to watch some TV, but I only lasted about ten minutes and was asleep. After my nap Cheri and I got ready to go out for supper. Ed and Lorraine wanted to take us to Golden Corral for supper for helping wash their trailer. On the way to Golden Corral we made a stop at another RV park. Ed wanted to show us a new park model that they are looking at to buy or order one with different wood work. It was locked up and nobody around so we peeked in the windows and couldn’t see much. Ed pulled out his keys and tried them in the lock and they worked to unlock the trailer. So we got a chance to see the inside. It was very nice and it is two feet wide and 4 feet longer than the one they have now. Then it was off to Golden Corral where we eat too much once again. Then we came back to our place to play a game of dominos. It was the first time that Ed and Lorraine have played Mexican Train and I think that they enjoyed it as they said we will have to play again sometime.

It was a perfect day weather wise, a high of 80 degrees and no humidity, doesn’t get any better than that. It was a great day to take a motorcycle ride. Bud and I left at 9:30 am and head northwest to the Crystal River Harley dealer. Some of the roads we took we had never been on before. It is getting harder for us to find roads that we haven’t ridden before. We made an extra stop along the way to have a cup of coffee and catch up on what each of us had been up to this pasted summer. Then it was on to the Harley dealer. After checking out the bikes and accessories and neither of us buying anything we headed back and made a stop at Burger King for lunch. It was around 3:30 pm when we got home. It was great 158 mile ride. Cheri stopped by Grandma's to pick up her list of things she needed from Wal-Mart, groceries and to pick up her medicine. Later Cheri went shopping (something she loves to do) at Bealls Outlet store. She picked up some colored bottles for a craft project she is going to working on. We had steak on the grill and fresh corn on the cob for supper. After supper we took our evening walk which is the first time since we have been here. We stopped by Ed and Lorraine’s to visit and to let them know I would be over tomorrow to wash their park model. It was after dark before we got our walk done.

It was another hot day although I don’t think it was as hot as yesterday. I finished cleaning the motorcycle this morning. Bud stopped over and wanted to know if I wanted to go for a ride tomorrow. Yep I am ready to ride. This afternoon Cheri wanted to make a trip to the Shops at Wiregrass. She wanted to look for some quilting books using computer designs at Barn’s and Noble, no luck on finding what she wanted. When we left I looked for my sunglasses and couldn’t find them anywhere. I finally gave up looking for them and Cheri said maybe Grandma picked them up in the van to use and had them at her place. Cheri went over to see how Grandma was and she came back with my sunglasses. While she was at Grandma’s I did some searching on the internet for computer quilting software. I found one called Electric Quilt 7 which I ordered. You can design your own patterns and use pictures you have taken and print them off on material, sounds like fun. I read some good reviews about the software. We will see what is like in a few days, which I hope isn’t too complicated for me to use. Each day we have a few more snow birds arriving. I think a lot have come earlier this year.

It was another hot day; in fact it was hotter than yesterday. I did work on cleaning the motorcycle early this morning before it got too hot. The heat got to me before I got done, I hope to finish tomorrow. Cheri to Grandma for her eye appointment this afternoon and also made a stop at the bank for her. I checked out the truck to see how much fuel line I needed to install the fuel filter on the truck. After Cheri got home we made a trip to pick up the fuel line and clamps on the way back we stopped at Radio Shack to get a battery for our digital picture frame. Cheri wanted to set it up behind the recliners as we have never had it set out because we never had a place to put it. So Cheri made room for it by taking down some other pictures. I put together a collection of 375 pictures from the past two years to install on it. I told Cheri this afternoon that I needed a new recliner and she said why? I said well every time I set down I fall asleep, she said then we need two. It seems like every time we try to watch TV we have trouble staying awake.

It was very hot and high humidity today, the temp was 88 degrees and the heat index was 97. Cheri worked inside cleaning and I worked outside until it got too hot for me. I did some maintenance projects on the 5th wheel, extensions on the rain gutters and filled the batteries with water. I had been looking for my glass cutter and finally found it while I was looking to see if I had any hose clamps for the ancillary fuel filter on the truck. We have some 12x12 mirror tiles and Cheri wanted two pieces 4x8 to use with her quilt making, so no problem right, well after breaking three tiles I gave up and told Cheri she would have to take the tiles to someone else to get them cut. This afternoon Cheri work on a scrapbook project she is doing for our granddaughter. I took it easy and did my Bible study and read our Life Group lesson on Tough Love. God tells us we have to sometimes use tough love on family and friends to keep them on the right path in their spiritual life. I am not as good as I should be, but I am better than I was.

The hot humid weather is back and looks like it is going to be here all week. We had a high of 86 degrees today. What a difference the humidly makes. I was outside doing a few things and in a very short time my shirt was drenched in sweat. My motorcycle riding buddy Bud Avery and his wife Joyce arrived yesterday. So this morning I headed down to say hi and helped him unload his motorcycle when I got a call that the pest exterminator was coming to spray in and around the 5th wheel. So I headed home to help Cheri get everything out of the cupboards. When the spaying was done Cheri said where are you taking me for lunch. So we headed over to Chili’s for soup and salad. Then we went to Win Dixie’s has they were having a sale of meat. We picked up some pork chops and ribs to do on the grill. After we got home we went over to Grandma’s to play cards and I work on her computer and finally got it working again for her. That made her happy because she hasn’t been able to check her e-mail for the last couple of days. We got back home around 3:30 pm and decided to stay inside and watch some TV. Of course tonight is Dancing with the Stars and Cheri couldn’t miss it.

At 9:00 am we headed out to church for our New Believers class. It was another very interesting class. We got a report that we had a little over 1000 people and children come to the Pumpkin Fest last night. We weren’t able to stay for late church as we had to head down to the Tampa airport to pick up Ed and Lorraine LeBlanc. They are flying in from Maine for the winter. We arrived at the airport 45 minutes early as their fight wasn’t arriving until 12:25 pm. When we checked the arrival times, it was to land at 11:55 am, a half hour early. So our timing turned out to be just right. They said they had a nice fight, but didn’t like getting up at 4:00 am. We were all hungry and stopped at Golden Corral on the way home. We got them settled in at their place. I got their water turned on and Cheri helped me get their patio furniture and swing set out. They were both tired from their trip. When we got home I settled in to watch the NASCAR Race and Cheri took a nap. After the race we watched a couple of shows we had recorded, and then it was time to watch the Packers play the Vikings. It was a very close game and came right down to the last few seconds, but the Packers came away with the win. It was about time the Packers got a break as they lost the last two games in overtime.

I have to tell you how God works in mysterious ways. After I wrote the blog for the day and did my usual internet searching and reading the news on the internet I checked the morning paper which I hardly ever do. I see on the side of the front page a short paragraph about a VA meeting at the high school here in Zephyrhills. Last year I signed up for VA benefits and was denied which made me very upset. After serving our country and being told I would be taken care of with VA benefits. I thought maybe I should go to the meeting but then decided not to go and went outside and washed the front of the 5th wheel and then did my Saturday work. After that was done. Cheri said she was going to take Grandma over to Wal-Mart. I took my shower and when I got done I looked at my watch and see that it was 11:00 am, which is the time that the VA meeting was starting. I thought if I can find the denial letter that was sent to me from the VA I would go down and see if I could talk to someone about it. Not remembering where I put the letter, so I went looking for it and the first cabinet in looked in there it was right in front looking at me. So I took the letter and left a note for Cheri to tell her where I was. I jumped on the motorcycle and off I go to the meeting. There were quite a few guys there. I stood and waited to be taken care of when another guy came up and went ahead of me. I wasn’t happy about this and usually would say something, but God has been teaching me to be more patient. A short time later I was talking to two different people. After all was said and done I am going to be having a physical with the VA clinic here in Zephyrhills. So I will be able to use the VA benefits I was promised when I got out of the service. I truly believe if it wasn’t for God showing me the way today I wouldn’t be getting the VA benefits. Once again Cheri and I went to church this evening to volunteer our help with the Pumpkin Fest. We did the same jobs that we did last night. We heard this evening that we had 845 adults and children come though last night and because I was helping park cars, I know we had a lot more people come this evening.

All week we have been going to go for a motorcycle ride and today was the day. We actually rode with our stopping at a quilt store. So I didn’t know where to ride to. I did plan part of the ride on a road that I haven’t been on before and after riding about three miles it turned into gravel. So we turned around and rode a different direction. The next road I took happened to go by a Harley dealer. Wonder….. how that happened. We ended up in Lakeland at Applebee’s for a lunch of soup and salad. We got home around 2:00 pm and the temp was around 85 degrees so the last part of the ride was pretty hot. This evening we were volunteers at church to help with the Pumpkin Fest. This was something new for us. We had a great time and there were 845 gown ups and children that came through. There were all kinds of games and activities for the children. Cheri helped with child care and I helped with parking cars. It was from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm. And I must say the time went by really fast. After the bike ride and the church activity I am sure we will sleep well tonight.

This morning Cheri worked on laundry and cleaning the 5th wheel. I worked outside doing some chucking. Then I sprayed Grandma’s lawn and our lawn for an assortment of insects, more so for fire ants. We got a call from the quilter to bring Cheri’s quilt in to be quilted. It should be done sometime before Christmas. This afternoon we went grocery shopping for Grandma and ourselves at Publix’s. Grandma wanted to have a thank you pie and ice cream party down at the Rec Hall for all the people that prayed and helped her while she was sick this summer and invited everyone that is in the park right now. So we bought 9 pies and ice cream. The party was at 6:30 pm. Cheri and I served up the pie and ice cream. We had a total of 58 people come. We had one piece of pie left that Cheri and I split. We were starting to get worried that we wouldn’t have enough pies. Everyone seemed to have a good time.

It was another beautiful day in paradise. We made a trip to Redington Beach to spend the afternoon with Mike and Pam Gregory. They are spending a week at their time share and invited us to visit them. Ron and Sandy Sharp were also there. We are all part of the Life Group that we attend on Tuesday nights. We sat on the beach for awhile and then back to the time share to get ready to go out and eat. We went to Bubba Gump’s for dinner, great food. After checking out some of the scenery we headed back to the time share for coffee and to watch the sunset from their balcony. The sunset was beautiful and I took a lot of pictures. We got home around 9:00 pm. It was a great day to spend with friends. For pictures of the day see album Redington Beach.   http://picasaweb.google.com/sharpstravels

I had my appointment at 10:15 am to have blood work for the PSA test. I might as well have stayed around yesterday because today wasn’t much better. I had to wait 45 minutes before I got in. It was after 11:00 am before I got home. Too late to do anything before lunch, like I had a lot to do today. This afternoon we picked up Grandma and took her over to Lowe’s to buy a big pot of mums that were in bloom to give to a friend of hers that she met while she was in the hospital. Her friend just had surgery to have a tumor removed from her back. When we got home we got a call from Rick telling us where to go to look at a box of material that Cheri could use to make quilts. Some people near them were cleaning out some other persons home and had a lot of things for sale. So we went to look at the material. Cheri got a big box of material with over a 100 fat quarters along with other material for $25.00. Our Life Group meeting was small again this evening do to people having to work and people being sick. When we got home Cheri had to watch Dancing with the Stars. We were surprised who got voted out.

Nothing much to write about today, I did go to the doctor’s office for a 9:55 am for a lab appointment to have blood drawn for my PSA test. I had waited for 40 minutes when they announced that they were still waiting for a doctor and it would be another hour. Even though I am retired and really didn’t have to been anywhere I didn’t feel like waiting so I now have an appointment for tomorrow at 10:15 am. When I had my physical last spring my PSA was high and I needed to have it checked again. Cheri did some laundry and when I got home she went to have her hair cut. It was lunch time when she got home. I did some more searching on the internet about the Edge Product’s CTS Juice with Attitude for our truck. It can reprogram the truck computer to get an additional 125 horsepower and 240 foot pounds of torque. It can be adjusted while driving and has five different settings. I still have to do more checking on it, but as of now I pretty sure that I am going to get it sometime before we leave in the spring. We went to a movie this afternoon and saw Red. It was an action/adventure/comedy. It wasn’t a great movie but was good entertainment. After supper we made a trip to Lowe’s so I could pick up the materials I need to install the additional fuel filter on the truck. We also did some Bible study for our New Believers Class at church.

Fall is defiantly here as the mornings are much cooler, almost to the point of starting the furnace to take the chill out of the 5th wheel. We had to be at church at 9:30 am as we are taking the New Believers Class, it is a four week class to help get us on the right track in our new christens life. Today we found out that like a new building we have to have a good foundation or the building will fall down. So Cheri and I are starting over to get our lives right with God. After church we stopped on the way home at a road side stand and bought our lunch of pulled pork and smoked ribs. After we got done with lunch we still had enough for supper, smoked ribs twice in one day, doesn’t get any better than that. Cheri read and I watched the Packers get beat again. It was the second week in a row that they lost the game in overtime. After the game we went over to see Grandma. She is doing really well and Carol took her to church and out to eat afterwards. We were playing cards when Carol stopped over, so she played one game with us. Carol and Grandma continued played some more as it was time for us to head home for the evening.

It was 54 degrees this morning which was our coolest morning since we have been here this summer/fall. It made for a nice morning walk. We were in no hurry getting around this morning as we were having company today. Bill & Lynda Shaw friends from our Alaskan trip arrived around 11:00 am. We had a nice visit as they were telling us about their trip west this year. We follow most of the trip by looking at the pictures that they posted. We went to Golden Corral for lunch and then back to our place for more visiting and to play a game of dominos. They said that they hadn’t played any dominos since last winter when we played with them. Bill and Lynda left around 5:00 pm. We passed on having any dinner as we had so much for lunch. That’s the problem with going to Golden Corral I always eat too much. Cheri and I were watching TV this evening and around 7:30 pm I said to Cheri I think there is a NASCAR Race on tonight and sure enough it was just starting. So I recorded it and went back to watching the show we had on. After the show was over I started watching the race. I only lasted until about 10:30 pm. I was falling asleep, so I will finish watching it in the morning.

It was a nice cool dry day so I took advantage of it.  I washed and waxed the roof of the 5th wheel. It was after 2:00 pm before I got done with it. Cheri took Grandma for her B-12 shot and then went to Wal-Mart to pick up medicine and groceries for Grandma. Around 2:30 pm we went over to Grandma’s to play cards. We were just finishing the second game when Carol came. We got a call from Darren this afternoon and he is coming down to spend Thanksgiving with us. That will be a good time.We had a surprise birthday party to go to this evening in Wesley Chapel. It was Ron Sharp’s birthday. He is in our Life Group. We had a great time and met some new people. It was around 9:30 pm before we got home. I tried to watch some TV but couldn’t stay awake. So we called it a night and hit the hay.

This morning while Cheri took Grandma for her doctor’s appointment I worked on the air conditioner. I took it all apart and vacuumed out the heat exchanger. That was one of the things that I read on the internet that could cause the water dripping. Now we wait to see if that fixed the problem. When Cheri got home we had an early lunch and then went out for a ride. We have a birthday party to go to tomorrow and wanted to see where we had to go. Then we stopped at a farm market and picked up some fresh green beans, sweet corn, cucumbers and watermelon.   From there we rode down to Camping World where I wanted to pick up a few things for the 5th wheel, new fresh water hose, sewer hose, and some fiberglass cleaner. Then we stopped at a secondhand store to see what they had, lots of nice use furniture and appliances, nothing we could use or needed. From there we stopped at Publix’s to pick up the things that were on sale that we couldn’t get yesterday because the sale didn’t start until today. When we got home I started the grill and cooked up steak with the new steak rub I made, it was very good. We also had some of the corn on the cob and watermelon. It was a fun day to just get out and ride around with no certain plans on where we were going. It was also perfect day weather wise.

Not much going on today. There was no hurry to get around for anything. Cheri checked out the new flyer for Publix’s grocery store and made a list of things that we could get. Many of the things she wanted were buy one and get one free. When we got to the grocery store the things on her list were not on sale. I went and pick up a flyer at the store entrance and the sale doesn’t start until tomorrow. So we didn’t buy anything. Grandma wanted the old stile letter writing tablet with lines and we couldn’t find them at Wal-Mart so we stopped at Staples and they didn’t have any either. I guess letter writing is a thing of the past. We made a stop at the Dollar Store and did find them there. After lunch we did go to Wal-Mart. Grandma and we both needed bottled water. I also wanted several different kinds of spices to make a rub to put on steak and chicken when I cook them on the grill. Then it was time to go over to see Grandma. She is doing really well. We visited and played cards with her, she loves to play cards. Then back home to cook some turkey filets on the grill. I check on the internet some of the possible problems that might be the cause of the water dripping from the air conditioner. That will be my job for tomorrow.

Cheri took Grandma to the lab for her blood workup. She has a doctor appointment on Thursday. I worked on the air conditioner; it has started leaking water from the vent. I took it apart and could see where the water was coming from. So I cleaned out the water and couldn’t find a drain for it to get out. Well it run most of the afternoon with no problem until later and then it started to leak again. So tomorrow I will spend some more time on the problem. We took Cheri’s quilt backing down to the Rec hall and got that squared up. Sure is a lot easier when you have the right tools to do it. I should have bought the t square and straight edge a long time ago. We stopped by Grandma’s to see how she was doing. We were going to do her vacuuming and she said she could do it. She said that she couldn’t get her computer to work, so I checked it out and got it working again. Then we played a couple of games of SOB which I won. This evening was our Life Group gathering. We had a small group this evening as some were sick and other had work related problems. It was another good gathering. We studied about endurance and working through problems with God’s help and not quitting.

I sprayed around the 5th wheel this morning for the run of the mill different kinds of bugs.  I also went over and sprayed around Grandmas place. Cheri got her quilt ironed up and ready to go to the quilter this afternoon for a 1:30 pm appointment. Then Cheri started looking at quilt books and on line to see what she wants to do next. I did some on line searching for a fuel filter head to install on the truck auxiliary fuel tank. I did find what I wanted and order it along with three extra filters. We got a call around noon from the quilter asking us if it would be OK for us to come at 3:00 pm. She is in the middle of remodeling their home and had the plumber and electrician there and they would be gone by 3:00 pm. That was no problem for us as retired people can change our plans. So at 3:00 pm we arrived at the quilter. Cheri picked out the thread and designed she wants quilted. I didn’t have the backing squared up good enough so we brought it back home with us so I can get that done. On the way home we stopped to see Grandma and she had a great day with a lot of company and said she is feeling very good. After supper we went over to Lowe’s to buy a tee square and straight edge for 44 dollars to use to square up the quilt backing. It is going to be an expensive quilt by the time we get done with it. Now I know why they are so expensive in the stores.

I see on TV that many people are doing different things today, just because it is 10-10-10. I guess that doesn’t happen too often.  We went to early church this morning and then after church we went out for lunch at Olive Garden with Besty Strickland, Ron and Sandy Sharp, Mike and Pam Gregory from our Life Group. It was fun getting together and learning a little more about everyone. We got home around 1:00 pm. Cheri wanted to take her quilt down to the Rec hall one more time to make sure the quilt would fit on the backing, very thing was perfect. I took one final picture of it. We will be taking it to the quilter tomorrow. After we got done at the Rec Hall we stopped by Grandma to see how she was doing and to show her the quilt. Then we played cards with her which Cheri won. Then it was time to go home and watch the Packer’s get beat, not a good game. Then it was time to watch the NASCAR Race. I have uploaded one more picture of Cheri’s quilt. http://picasaweb.google.com/sharpstravels

We took our morning walk and then got ready for our motorcycle ride to Fort De Soto Campground to see Dave and Bunny Simko, and Charlie, Patty and Griffin Wiley. They were all camped there for the weekend and they had invited us down to spend the day with them. We had a fun time visiting. Dave got out their grill and Charlie grilled up some chicken and shrimp which was very good. At 5:45 pm it was time for Cheri and I to head for home as we wanted to be home before it got dark. We made excellent time and arrived home at 7:00 pm. The traffic though Tampa moved along without any backups. The trip was 137 miles which is a quite a bit for Cheri so we made a short stop on the way home. It was a great day to spend with friends.

After we got around this morning we walked down to see Dave and Bunny. We visited with them until noon and then it was time for them to leave and head for Desoto Beach campground south of Tampa on the gulf. We made plans to take a motorcycle ride tomorrow to see them. Also Charlie, Patty and Griffin Wiley (friends from our Alaskan trip) will be there for the weekend.  After lunch we made our last trip to the Rec hall to cut out the backing for Cheri’s quilt. She finished all the sewing this afternoon, Monday we take it to the quilter. Around 4:00 pm we went to Wal-Mart to pick up medicine for Grandma and ourselves. When we stopped back at Grandma’s to drop off the groceries and medicine she was playing cards with Carol. Grandma had already changed the bandage on her stomach and said that she would do it from now on. It was another beautiful day in the neighborhood.

It was 54 degrees this morning but turned to out to be a beautiful day with a high of 79 degrees. The day started out being a lazy day, anyway for me. Cheri worked on her quilt and we once again went to the Rec hall to cut out material. While we were there we a call from Dave and Bunny Simko (friends from our Alaskan trip) wanted to know where we were. They were north of Ocala Florida and wanted to know if we were back in Florida. So they came on down and arrived around 3:00 pm to spend the night. We had a nice visit and then went out for supper at Golden Corral. Then back to their 5th wheel to visit and play a game of dominos which the ladies won. Early this afternoon Cheri took Grandma for her doctor’s appointment to have the stomach tube removed. She was happy to have that out. We still will have to change the dressing on her stomach until it heals.

It was great day weather wise. We took Cheri’s quilt down to the Rec Hall again today to cut out some more material for the border. That consumed the rest of the morning and didn’t get back to the 5th wheel until noon. We now have all the border material cut out. After Cheri get that sewed on we will be working the backing. I have uploaded another picture of Cheri’s quilt showing the blue border she is working on.  http://picasaweb.google.com/sharpstravels We were invited along with Grandma to Cousin Rick and Janis’s place to play dominos. We played two games and Rick and I were the big winners. It is the first time we have been to their place here in Florida, it is very nice. It is something that Cheri and I would look for when we get ready to settle down. It was near 7:00 pm before we got home. It was a great day to spend with family.

It was another perfect fall day with a low of 60 degrees and a high of 81 degrees, great weather for our morning walk. We had an appointment this morning to take Cheri’s day night quilt to the quilter. Cheri was hoping to have the one she is working ready to take, but that didn’t happen. She needs a few more days to finish it and we have an appointment on Monday for it. It will be Christmas before the quilter gets the one done we took today. It was 12:30 pm before we got home. We had lunch and then we went down to the Rec Hall with the quilt to cut out another color for the border. Then it was time to go to Grandma’s to take care of her. We didn’t have time to play any cards today. When we got home I got the grill going and did some chicken for supper. We had our Life Group meeting this evening. It was another great evening as we were studying how God wants us to be visionaries and be able to look past our problems to find solutions for them. Cheri and I are really enjoying our Tuesday night meetings. I guess that they really aren’t meetings, just a small group of friends socializing to learn more about God and what he can do for us.

We set a new low for us since we have been here this fall. It was 58 degree this morning, had to put on a long sleeve shirt for the morning walk. It was a nice dry day with a high of 82 degrees. A perfect day for a motorcycle ride, but that didn’t happen today. We did paper work this morning and took it to be notarized so we could get our absentee ballet to vote in the general election next month. I encourage everyone to vote, if we don’t vote, we have no room to complain. Then we went to the quilt store in Dade City so Cheri could get the material she needed for the border and the backing on the quilt she is making. When we got back home we had lunch and then took the material down to the Rec Hall where we could put some tables together and cut out the first color for the border on the quilt. After that was done it was time for Cheri to take Grandma for her doctor’s appointment. I stayed home and read some more in the Bible. I just finished reading the book of Job when Cheri called and said they were back. I headed over to Grandma’s to help her change the bandages. Then once again we played a couple games of SOB. Cheri won one and I managed to win one. When we got home Cheri went to work on her quilt. She did quit in time to watch Dancing with the Stars. I have uploaded another picture of Cheri’s quilt with all the blocks sewed together. http://picasaweb.google.com/sharpstravels

We were both up early this morning and were able to get our morning walk in. Usually we don’t get that done on Sunday when we go to early church. We left a little before 9:00 am and stopped by Grandma’s to start her laundry and then on to church. We heard an excellent sermon from the book of Job. It was so good that I spent some time this afternoon reading the Bible. After church we stopped by Wal-Mart to pick up Grandma’s medicine and then over to Grandmas to drop it off and put the clothes in the dryer. Then it was home for lunch and then Cheri worked on her quilt. Around 3:00 pm we went back to Grandma’s to get the laundry in, I made the bed and vacuumed while Cheri helped Grandma take a shower. Then we played a game of cards that Cheri won. Then we headed home so I could watch the NASCAR Race and Cheri went back to work on her quilt. She did take a break for supper and then worked until after 8:00 pm. She now has all the blocks sewed together. I will take pictures tomorrow.

It was 65 degrees this morning our coolest so far. In fact with the breeze this morning it was a little cool for our morning walk, a long sleeve shirt would have felt good. I guess I am turning into a wimp or just use to the hot weather. Cheri and I had no plans to go anywhere to day so we took our time getting around. Cheri spent the whole day working on her quilt except for when we went over to Grandma’s to take care of her. I spent the day doing my Saturday shores (dumping the sewage tank and serving the water softener), then I took the grill all apart and cleaned and power washed it. I also installed the new video box to replace the bad one, so I thought, turns out that it wasn’t the video box that was bad, it is the preamp in the antenna. That will have to wait until we get the 5th wheel to the factory for the warranty work next spring. This afternoon I watched the Wisconsin Badgers football game. They played poorly and got beat. Then it was time to watch the NASCAR Race that I recorded while the football game was on. At 6:30 pm Cheri quit working on her quilt and we settled in for an evening of TV.

Another month has slipped away. When October arrives I know it is now fall. For some reason I always feel that all of September is still summer, also when you are in the south it much easier to think in those terms because the weather is warmer. We were on the road by 9:15 this morning heading for the quilt shop in Hudson. Cheri wanted to use their pin up wall to arrange all her quilt blocks to see how she wants to sew them together. That turned out to be quite the job. Cheri was on her feet all day changing and moving blocks around until she had what she wanted and with a lot of help from the people at the store. Cheri would have them arranged one way and I would take a picture and down load it to the computer so she could see it. Then she would change things around again and then I would take another picture. I think we did this about 10 different times. Around 2:30 pm she had the lay out that she wanted and everybody in the store thought it was very nice. While we were at the store Cheri looked for material to use for the border on the quilt, but couldn’t find what she wanted. We packed up everything and headed for home. Then we went over to Grandma’s to take care of her needs. We didn’t play any cards today as Cheri was tired from being on her feet all day. We had an early supper because we had skipped lunch. Then we settled in for an evening of reading and watching TV. I have uploaded some pictures of the different layouts that Cheri tried. http://picasaweb.google.com/sharpstravels

It was 71 degrees this morning with a high today of 83 degrees and a nice breeze out of the northwest. It was one of those days just begging us to go for a motorcycle ride, so we did. We left around 9:15 am. We made a stop at the grocery store to pick up some groceries for the church food pantry. We dropped them off at the church and we also had a meeting with the head custodian who showed us the cleaning routine which we will be doing. We are now on the schedule to clean the church on a rotation with other couples for the next three months. Then we continued on our motorcycle ride. We checked out some more back roads that we hadn’t been on before. I was going to fill the bike up with gas after we left the church and forgot. Sometime later I saw that the low fuel light was on. I know that when it came on there is only a half a gallon left. So when I checked I didn’t know how long it had been on and being on a back road there wasn’t any gas stations. Well we did finally did find a station to fill up and it turned out that we only had a little over a tenth of a gallon left. We stopped at Applebee’s for their soup and salad lunch, very good and a fair price. We stopped at a place in Zephyrhills that has an auction every Thursday evening. We were interested to see what kind of things were on the auction. It turned out to be mostly junk. Then we stopped at an antique shop, Cheri’s idea not mine. It is a good thing we live in a 5th wheel or Cheri would have been buying some things. When we got home we headed over to Grandma’s to take care of her needs and play two games of SOB which Cheri won, in fact she never even gave Grandma and I a chance. There was an ice cream social at the Rec Hall this evening. Grandma said she would like to go, so we picked her up at 6:15 pm and headed to the Rec Hall. There were around 30 people there. Everyone was supposed to dress up with mismatched clothes in order not to be find a dollar. There were some pretty funny looking people. We all had a nice time and lots of ice cream.
