After church we went to the Big Top flea market to get a set of dominos for Ed and Loraine. We also picked up some vegetables while we were there. On the way home we stopped at Papa John’s and got a pizza for lunch and supper. After lunch I went over to Carol’s to check out the GPS in her new car. She couldn’t get it to work and wanted me to look at it. I got the manual out and found out that it is a pretty sophisticated unit with voice recognition. Long story short it needs to be activated using the internet, not knowing what all she needed to furnish to get it activated I told her to take it back to the dealer where she bought it and have them do it, they should have done it before took it home. Cheri has wanted to go to Kohl’s store and there isn’t any close by here and I wanted to go for a motorcycle ride. So we rode to the Kohl’s store down in Brandon. So now we both got what we wanted. It turned out to be a 68 mile ride and was starting to get cool as we got home. We see Bud out cleaning his motorcycle so we stopped for a visit with Bud and Joyce.

It was a perfect day in the neighborhood, in the low 70’s and no wind. It was a great day for a motorcycle ride that I didn’t get to go on as I had work to do. Cheri went to check on Grandma as we haven’t seen her for a couple of days. I finished up the water softener; I am real please the way the installation came out. Should only have to regenerate it very 4 to 6 weeks which will be nice. I also got the dryer vent put back together and looks brand new with the coat of paint on it. Cheri and I had a visit with our neighbors across the street from us (Jack and Jeanette). Cheri took Jeanette over to our place to show her all of the quilts Cheri’s has made. Jack was telling me that he has to have a new roof put on their park model. He was wondering if I knew anyone that did rubber roofs. I told him I knew a couple that had a new one done last year and I would find out who did it for them. This afternoon Paul and Bev picked us up and we went to Dade City for the Kumquat festival and car show. Paul and I got to look at a lot of cars that we haven’t seen before. It was a great show and if Cheri and I were ready for an old truck I would have bought one today. It was a 1937 Chevrolet, she was a real beauty. We just aren’t ready for something like that, as we need to settle down and stay in one place. We are having too much fun traveling in the summer right now. Cheri and Bev checked out the 200 plus vendors they had. I must say they were very good shopper as all they bought was some jewelry. Paul and I got done with the car show about the same time as Cheri and Bev got done shopping. So we walked over to Beef O Brady’s for supper, which was very good. When we got back home we play dominos with Paul and Bev. The girls won one and we guys won one so everyone was happy. It was another great day in the neighborhood.

I wanted to go for a motorcycle ride today but everyone was busy and I didn’t feel like going by myself. It was a good thing as I was working on installing the new water softener when I noticed that Cheri was doing laundry and there wasn’t much air coming from the dryer vent. So I got out my ladder and checked it out. I had to take out the chalking from around the outside of the vent so I could get the cover off. I found a built in plastic screen where the air comes out, it was plugged with lint. There was no way to clean it out so I cut the screen out and then was able to clear the opening. It was a fire waiting to happen. The dryer should dry clothes much faster now. So now I want all of you people to check your dryer vents to make sure they are clear of lint. The vent cover had change color from the sun so I gave it a paint job. Tomorrow I will be able to put it back together. I made a list of things I needed to install the water softener so it would be a permit installation instead of being portable. Then Cheri and I went over to Lowe’s to get the parts. I worked all afternoon on the install and was missing one part and had to go back to Lowe’s again, good thing Lowe’s is close by. I didn’t quite get the project done today and will finish up tomorrow. I gilled some rib eye steaks for supper. They sure looked like good steaks but turned out to be so tuff that we couldn’t eat them. What a bummer when you pay a high price for a good cut of meat and then can’t eat it. We played dominos this evening with Paul and Bev.

Our weather continues to be cold in the morning and then jacket weather during the day. It was another windy day. Paul and Bev came down this morning for a visit and coffee. I had an appointment to have a MRI on my foot at 1:15 pm. I didn’t get back home until near 3:00 pm. I picked up Cheri and we went to the hospital to see Mike. Once again he thought he was going home today but was put off until tomorrow. Nothing serious, just being cautious. He is in good spirits and can’t wait to get home. This evening we along with Paul and Bev went down to the Rec Hall. They had a hypnotist in for entertainment. He started out with 12 people up on the stage and ended up 5 that he was able to hypnotize. He had them doing some pretty strange and funny things. We were back home by 9:00 pm. We watched a little TV and had a hot spiced apple cider which tasted and felt good after the cold walk home.

We got word this morning that Mike wouldn’t be going home today. They decided to keep him for another day just to be sure there weren’t any problems. I had an appointment at 9:00 am with the foot doctor. Things aren’t improving so he gave me a boot to wear which I wasn’t happy about and can’t drive while wearing it. I have an appointment tomorrow at 1:15 pm for a MRI on my foot in hopes to find out what is causing all the pain. After my appointment I picked up Cheri and we went to Wal-Mart for groceries and my medicine. After we got the groceries put away at home I asked Cheri if she wanted to go out for soup and salad at Chili’s. She gave me a big smile and said of course. After lunch we made a trip to church to drop of a DVD for Pastor Dean. Then we headed back to the hospital to see Mike. He is doing great he had been up walking the halls and is in good spirits. Pam arrived the same time as we did. We spent the afternoon visiting with them and had a lot of good laughs telling stories about some of our camping trips. We got home around 5:30 pm. It was a light jacket day as it was very windy.

Today didn’t start out very good. We got word that Mike Gregory, friend from our Life Group was in the hospital with a heart attack. As soon as we got ready we headed over to the hospital to see him. He had the heart attack around 5:00 pm yesterday and had another one around 1:30 am. He was still in the ER when we arrived at the hospital. They were getting ready to take him up for a CT scan. They found one blockage and were able to put in a stent to correct the problem. He was in the recovery room by 1:30 pm resting. The doctor said that there was only about 5 percent damage, he was very lucky. Ron, Cheri and I went for lunch and brought back lunch for Pam and Mike’s brother and his wife. Around 3:00 pm we left for home in the rain. It rain the rest of the afternoon and in fact it was still raining when we went to bed. We did go back to the hospital around 7:00 pm to see Mike. He was awake and feeling much better and was looking forward to going home tomorrow. Ron, Sandy and Pam came back right after we got there as they had been out for supper. It was a stressful day for all of us and was tired when we got home. With God’s help it turned out to be a great day. Prayer is a wonderful thing.

Happy birthday Darren (our son) have a great day and many more. We called Darren this evening. We asked him how he liked the cold weather and he said he is starting to get use to it. I was surprised to hear him say that. He also told us that they are getting dog. It is a Doberman and was born just a week ago. They will be able to get her sometime in the middle of March. I got a call from Bud this morning wanting to know if I was up for a motorcycle today. I didn’t think it would be warm enough to go but I said sure. We left at 10:00 am and was 49 degrees. With my chaps and heavy coat is wasn’t cold and turned much warmer as we rode. We put on 133 miles riding over to St Pete and stopped at the Harley dealer and then to the Gulf Coast to have lunch which very good. There were only three of riding today as the other two guys thought it was too cold. On the way back I led and took them on some roads that they hadn’t road on before. Cheri went over to see Grandma for a while and then visited with our neighbors. She saw Paul and Bev and set up an evening to play dominos which we guys won one and the girls won one.

It was cold this morning so no mornings walk for us. We left for the Rally at 9:45 am. There is going to be a prayer meeting at 10:30. Along with the prayer meeting our friends Don and Dorene Foster did their dramatic monolog of Nicodemus. They did an excellent job and were enjoyed by all. After the service we said a lot of goodbyes as many of the people were leaving and heading for home or other parts of the country. Ten of us went out for lunch at Cracker Barrel which is close by. After lunch we all went back to the hall to play dominos and visit. Don came in a little later and said the Packers were ahead 14 to 0. I was recording the game to watch when we got home so I didn’t want to hear what the score was. But as long as the Packers were winning it was ok. Around 7:00 pm it was time to say good bye to our friends and head home. As soon as we got home we called to wish our granddaughter Cece a happy ninth birthday. We didn’t get to talk with here as she was with her mother for her birthday. So Cheri sent her an e-mail that she will get when Cos and Nikki gets her back. Then it was time to settle in and watch the Packer game. It was a good game to watch although not as much fun when you already know the outcome.

It was a very cool day with a lot of wind. So all our outside activities at the Alaskan Rally were cancelled and we had to be inside again today. 16 of us from our Alaskan tour got to gather and went to Parksdale’s Farms for their famous strawberry shortcake. We had a great time seeing all the folks from our tour, a lot of laughing and storytelling. When we got back to Lazy Days Charlie Wiley couldn’t find the keys to his car. They had ridden with us so we went through the van looking for them but no luck. Charlie checked with the office and no luck with someone turning them in. He also called the Parksdale’s Farms and no luck there either. So we got in the van and drove back to Parksdale’s Farms to look for ourselves, no luck. Charlie called AAA and had them come to unlock the car and a lock smith was taking the steering Colum apart to get to the lock when Charlie came out of the motor home with the keys. They had fallen out of his coat pocket down in the back of the chair. So everything turned out on a good note. Cheri took all of her quilts with us today to show them at the rally. As it was two of our group that got Cheri started making quilts while on our trip to Alaska. It has been a yearly thing showing each other their quilts and also hang them up at the rally so everyone can see them. Spike (the caravan owner) had a wonderful meal of barbeque chicken and ribs catered in for us. There were over 150 people at the rally. After supper there were a lot of storytelling and door prizes handed out. Finally it was time to say our goodbyes as some of our group weren’t going to be there tomorrow. It was a great day and evening with close friends from our Alaskan trip, they are like an extended family.

It started to rain around 2:00 am and at 2:30 am we had a lighting strike that was very close and I think I came a foot off the bed. It did quit raining around 6:30 am. I spent the morning filling out more paper work for the VA and making some project copies for Cheri to share with her quilting friends at the Rally this afternoon. We left a 12:30 pm to go to Tampa for our Alaskan Rally. We stopped to see how Grandma was on the way. We arrived at the Rally at 1:30 pm and drove in rain on the way down. So all outside activities didn’t happen because of the rain, we were inside with another group but everyone got along fine. There were around 100 people and about 50 more expected for tomorrow. We spent the rest of the afternoon visiting and catching up with friends from our 2008 Alaskan trip. Spike furnished pizza and pie for supper. We had a band for some good old music that Cheri and I could dance to. We had a great time and were back home by 9:00 pm. We got just under an inch of rain for the day.

It was a very damp and foggy morning; it was 11:30 am before we saw the sun. Then it turned out to be a beautiful day. Cheri and I made a trip to Wal-Mart to get groceries and Grandma’s medicine. On the way home we stopped by Bud’s to see if he wanted to go for a motorcycle ride. He said that he had work to do and couldn’t go. So after lunch I headed out on a ride by myself. I made an 88 mile ride out through the country side and was back home by 2:30 pm. We had made plans to have dinner with Don and Dorene Foster. They were on our caravan trip to Alaska in 2008. They are here from Oregon for the Alaskan Rally. We had a good time catching up on what they have been doing for the last year. We went to eat at Bob Evan’s which is a very good place to eat. We will get to see more of the group that we went to Alaska with this weekend at the Rally. It is always fun to see everyone again.

Cheri is the one that has been doing the morning walk. I am still not walking trying to get my foot in better shape. It is coming along and I get inpatient and try to walking long distances and that’s not what I should do. Cheri did her inside cleaning and laundry and I worked outside spraying around the 5th wheel for things that like to crawl and try to get inside. I also sprayed around Paul and Bev’s, and Grandma’s place. I had used some new stuff that had to be mixed up and put in a pump sprayer. I got out the new sprayer and did the mix and got it in the sprayer and it wouldn’t build up any pressure. So I had to find a container to empty the liquid in which was a large zip lock bag (a sight to see). I was going to take the sprayer back and figured I would put some water in it and try it again and I found that I needed to tighten the top much tighter and then it would work. So now with the spray mix back in the sprayer and a little extra tightening everything work the way it was supposed to. This afternoon I went and picked up Mike Gregory and went over to his daughters to look at her car. She couldn’t get it started and had to take Mike and Pam’s van to work. After cleaning the battery post and putting the charger on the battery we got the car started. I checked the alternator and it was putting out the correct voltage. It turned out the battery was bad as it wouldn’t hold a charge. This evening we were invited over to Pam and Mikes to play cards. They taught us a new card game called Shove It. It was a fun game and you have to do some thinking when playing. As usual I did very bad the first game but came back to win the second game. We also played a game of Wizard. It was a great evening to spend with friends.

It was so foggy this morning I didn’t think it would ever clear off. I wanted to go for a motorcycle ride but with all the fog I could see that wasn’t going to happen. Late morning Cheri wanted to go over to the flea market. Of course on the way over the sun came out. We spent about an hour there and then headed back home. We stopped by Bud’s to see what he was doing and to ask him if he want to ride this afternoon. Well we were on the road by 12:30 pm. We headed south and actually found a couple of roads that we hadn’t been on before. It is getting harder for us to find to roads that we haven’t ridden before. We made one stop which was the Harley dealer in Lakeland. After 100 miles we were home by 4:30 pm. Cheri spent the afternoon reading and watching TV. I grilled up some pork chops for supper along with a couple of hamburgers for supper tomorrow.

Rain today, boy did we get rain, we got over three inches. The sun didn’t come out until around 4:30 pm and then for only a little while. Cheri went out for breakfast/lunch with the Life Group ladies. I went out for breakfast with Mike and Ron also from our Life Group. After breakfast Ron had some things going on with a contractor that he had to take care of. Mike and I went for a ride through a lot of different 55 plus subdivisions. We were looking for a home for Mike and Pam. He was showing me some of the ones that they have looked at. We did stop in one as they were having an open house. It was very nice and the price was right but the monthly park dues were very high. Cheri got home around 1:30 pm and I was home shortly after her. We went over to see Grandma and she had company so we came back home for a while and then went back over around 4:00 pm. She is doing well and we played a couple of games of cards with her. This evening Gary called and wanted some information on how to change the oil in the transmission and the primary of his motorcycle. Bud and I are hoping to go for a motorcycle ride tomorrow.

Cheri and I went to church by ourselves this morning. Grandma went with Carol downtown to church. Ed and Loraine went with friends to their church. After church we went out for lunch with friends from our Life Group. We went to Red Robin’s which is the first time we have been to one. Cheri and I split a prime rib sandwich and we were both full when we got done. We will be going back again in the future. When we got home we went over to see Grandma to play some cards but she wasn’t home. So I asked Cheri if she wanted to go for a motorcycle ride and so off we went. We made a stop in Wesley Chapel to do a little shopping and then back home for a total of 56 miles. When we came home from church I saw that Bud was gone with his motorcycle. When we came back from our ride he still wasn’t home and we see Joyce outside so we stopped to talk to her. Joyce said Bud was up to our place to see if I wanted to go for a ride but we weren’t home. One of the guys that rides with us traded bikes and they went to pick up the new bike. Shortly after we stopped to talk to Joyce they came home. John had traded in his Yamaha Star for a 2007 Harley Road King. It is a very nice bike and he was like a little boy with a new toy. I guess all of us guys are that way when we get something new.

It was a light jacket day with a temp up to 65 and a light breeze. I got my Saturday morning chores done and then decided to change the oil in the primary and transmission on the motorcycle. That project took me into the afternoon. It is a good job done, so now the bike is ready to ride and I am ready too. All I need now is for the weather to cooperate. Paul and Bev picked us up at 3:00 pm and we headed to Plant City to see the car show. We made a stop at Parksdale vegetable market. It is the place that has the great strawberry shortcake. It is the first time we have been there this season. It is always a treat when I can have strawberry shortcake. Then we stopped along the road to look at a 1941 Ford truck that was for sale. It still needed a lot of work and the guy wanted $30,000. I don’t think he wanted to sell it very bad. Then it was time to get to the car show. As usual there were a lot of cars to see. I think Plant City has the best car show around the area. When we got home we settled in to watch the Green Bay Packers play. I figured it would be a really close game. The Packers played an excellent game and anything that could go wrong for Atlanta Falcons did go wrong. The Packers won 48 to 21 and are now advance to the NFC Title Game. I was really wound up after the game and had a hard time getting to sleep.

I didn’t turn the TV off until 1:30 am so I slept in until 6:45 am. We didn’t have any plans for the day. It started out cold again but did warm up to 59 degrees with a lot of sun. Cheri did the laundry and cleaning and also gave me a much needed hair cut. By the time we got all of this done and showered and dressed it was already 11:30 am. I looked on line to see what movies were playing and decided to go and see one. Around 1:00 pm came a knock at the door and it was Paul and Bev. We were surprised to see them because they were supposed to go to Palm Harbor for a week. It turned out that someone was in the condo that they were to stay at and can’t get in until Sunday. So we asked them if they wanted to go to the movie to see True Grit. They said sure and so we picked them up at 1:45 pm. The movie wasn’t as good as the original, guess that is usually the case. After the movie we made a stop at the post office for Bev and then went out for fish and chips for supper. Then we took a ride around town and checked out a house that Mike and Pam wanted us to see. We didn’t stop but as we drove by it and it looked very nice. Then we took a ride over to the airport and saw some altralites doing touch and goes. As we were leaving we got to see some sky divers coming down. It was 6:00 pm when we got home. At 7:00 pm we went up to Paul and Bev’s to play dominos. So as you can see we made the best out of a lazy day.

After everything we did yesterday today was a letdown. It was another cold windy day and we didn’t really have anything planed. Cheri did take Grandma for her doctor’s appointment and to Publix’s for groceries. I did nothing while she was gone. This afternoon it was my turn to brave the outside weather. I went and got a tank of LP and then drove over to Dade City to pick up some pest control that is mixed with water. So on the way back I stopped at Lowe’s to get a sprayer. Then back home to get warmed up again. This evening we were invited over to Pam and Mike’s for supper and a night of playing cards. We played a couple of games of SOB and then Mike and Pam taught us a new card game called Wizard, it was a fun game. We had a good time visiting and playing cards.

It was cold this morning when I went over to Grandma’s to get the van there was ice on the windshield. We got around early this morning and were ready to leave the 5th wheel by 6:30 am. We went out for breakfast and then over to the foot doctor for a shot of cortisone. He said the next step was to build an insert for my shoe. And if that doesn’t help I will have to have surgery to have the bunion removed. Then it was off to the Tampa fairgrounds for the big RV show. We checked out three different RV water softeners and ended up buying the SoftCell which I had been looking at on line. Another plus was we saved around $50 for buying it at the show and they are going to ship it to us. If you want to know more about the SoftCell go to www.softcellwater.com . Then we stopped at a couple of places that sell LED replacement bulbs. We have wanted to try some but because of the cost we haven’t done anything. Well we found some for a fair price and we bought nine of them to try. Then I bought a pair of shoe inserts that is supposed to help my foot with the bunion on my foot. The guy put them in my shoes and I must admit that they really helped. We will see how they work out after I get use to them. We also bought some surgical glue. I had some that I bought twenty years ago and finally had to throw it away. You have to keep it in the freezer and it is the best super glue we have ever used. I was happy to find it again. We looked and many other things and I have already put them on our wish list (maybe next year). Our last stop was at the Excel dealer to see if anyone was there from the factory and we were in luck as the president was there. We have talked to him many times over the last few years. Long story short we are going to cancel our appointment for the next week and this spring we are going to make a trip to Smith Center Kansas where the factory is to have our problems fixed. This is the reason we bought an Excel because they are so good about taking care of us. We got home around 4:00 pm and the first thing I did was put in the new LED lights and I must say we are very happy with them. No more hot fixtures and they use a lot less power. Over time we will be changing out all to the new LED lights. I grilled up some chicken for supper this evening and also did some brats for tomorrow. After supper we took the van back over to Grandma’s and check on her. After we got home we settled in for the evening, both of us are tired from our adventure today.

It was a cool 57 degree day and no sun until around 4:00 pm. It was a pretty lazy day for us. We did go to Wal-Mart to pick up some medicine for Grandma and then stopped by the doctor’s office to make an appointment for me as my foot is not doing very good. I was able to get the appointment for tomorrow morning at 8:00 am. He probably will give me another cortisone shot. We also made a stop at the post office so I could mail back one of the power adapter that I received for the digital picture frame. This afternoon we watched several episodes if bathroom remodeling on the DIY network, very interesting. Later we walked up to Paul and Bev’s to see if they wanted to go to ABC Pizza in Dade City for spaghetti. I think we have started a new Tuesday night thing. When we got back we play a couple of games of dominos which Bev and Cheri won. They beat Paul and me pretty bad.

Cheri and I headed for the Rec Hall this morning for the Park wide breakfast of eggs, pancakes, French toast, strawberries, juice and coffee all for $3.50 and you could have all the pancakes you wanted. We went by Grandma’s on the way down to see if she was going but she wasn’t up. It was cloudy and supposed to rain today. Bud and I had a motorcycle ride planned for today. We talked at breakfast and decided to wait until 10:00 am and see what the weather was like. I checked the radar when we got home and it looked like the rain was going to miss us. So I went down to Buds to talk about the ride. We decided not to go as it was cloudy and without the sun it would be a cool ride. As it turned out it was a good thing because around noon it started raining and we ended up with over an inch of rain. Cheri took Grandma for her eye appointment and that turned out very good. The pressure in her eyes is the best it has been for a long time, great news. I went down to Ed and Loraine’s new park model and installed two ceiling fans for them. They will be moving in tomorrow. Late this afternoon Paul called and wanted to know if we wanted to go to Dade City to shop at Beall’s outlet store. So ten minutes later we were on the way to Dade City. Paul and Bev each found some clothes and Cheri and I each found something. We made a couple of other stops and then head for home. This evening we were invited over to Grandma’s to play dominos with her and Dean & Betty. Grandmas won one game and Cheri won one. We had pie and ice cream afterwards which we didn’t need but tasted good. Our granddaughter Cece called Cheri today to ask her to buy some Girl Scout cookies. Cheri is a soft touch when it comes to Cece and she bought $24 dollars worth.

It was another cool breezy day. We pick up Grandma and Carol for church at 9:15. Grandma said she was feeling good again, great news. After church the four of us went to Golden Corral for dinner along with two other couples from our Life Group (Ron and Sandy, Mike and Pam). We had a good time and a nice visit. It was after 1:30 pm before we got home. The rest of the day was a lazy day of reading and watching TV. The best part was watching the Packers beat the Eagles, It kept us right on the edge of our seat, I wasn’t sure they were going to pull it out. So we get to watch them again on Saturday against the Falcons, should be another good game.

It was a cool morning of 42 degrees pretty breezy. I change the oil in the motorcycle and also did some cleaning on it this forenoon. Cheri went over to check on Grandma and pick up the van to use today. Cheri and Bev went to Wal-Mart to get groceries and my medicine along with some other shopping. At noon Paul, Bev, Cheri and I headed for the shops in Wire Grass where they were having a car show today. We stopped on the way for lunch at Razzle’s CafĂ©. Paul and Bev hadn’t been there before. It was our third time and once again it was very good. Then it was on to the car show. It was the first time we have been to a car show at Wire Grass and got to see a lot of different cars. I would guess there were around 150 cars. Cheri and Bev did some shopping while Paul and I checked out the cars. On the way home we stopped at Quality Homes of Florida to look at the modular homes that were on display. We didn’t see anything that we liked. But it was still fun looking. It was around 4:00 pm when we got home. We made a stop by Grandma’s to see how she was doing and if she was going to church with us tomorrow. She wasn’t sure so we will stop in the morning to see if she is going. No supper this evening after our big lunch today. We did do some snacking while watching TV this evening.

This morning I got the replacement HD receiver hook up and then call Direct TV to have it activated. That’s when the problems started. The lady told me to pick a certain dish setup and went through the set up and then I got errors on the TV screen. So she had me pick a different dish setup and the same problem came back. So she put me on hold and later came back on and wants to do another type of dish and I told her we already had tried it and she said yes I know, but let’s try it again. Well the same thing happened that had happened before. I tried to tell her we needed to use the same dish setup that my DVR was using. She said that I needed a service man to come and fix the problem and there wouldn’t be any charge. Once again I said it will work if we use the same setup that my DVR has. Finally she said ok we can try it. And sure enough it worked. I was on the phone for over an hour with her. Late morning we took some more things to the church for their yard sale in February. We went over to Grandma’s this afternoon to see how she was doing and she is getting a little better each day. Then we went down to get the mail and saw Ed and Loraine and they invited us over to their new park model to see their new furniture, it is very nice. They are moving in next Tuesday and Ed wants me to put up the ceiling fans in the living room and bedroom on Monday. When we got back home Paul hollered at us and wanted to know what we were doing. So we went for a ride with them to the other side of town to look at a generator for our 5th wheel. It didn’t look like anything I wanted. So we just rode around some different RV parks to see what was for sale. We got back home around 4:00 pm. This evening we went up to Paul and Bev’s to play a couple of games of domino and once again the guys won one and the girls won one. It was a nice way to end the evening.

We got rain last night and didn’t quit until around 6:30 am. I took the trash up to the dumpster and stopped to see how Grandma was and she was feeling better but still had an upset stomach. With the rain last night I figured it would be a good time to wash the truck, it should be easier to clean as it had time to soak with all the rain. It was almost noon before I got done. I had a lot of people stop by to visit while I was cleaning so it took a while longer to finish the job. Cheri did her cleaning and laundry. This afternoon we went over to Grandma’s to see how she was doing and found her sleeping in her chair, so we left as we didn’t want to wake her up. At 2:45 pm we picked up Paul and Bev and we went to the movie. We saw How Do You Know. It was a cute movie. When we got back we went to see Grandma and she said she was feeling better. Late this evening FedEx brought my replacement Direct TV HD receiver, I will install it tomorrow and ship the old one back.

I was up before 4:00 am, was stuff up and my mind was going full tilt, figured it didn’t do any good lying in bed. Cheri was also up early and was out for the morning walk at 6:00 am. Jack, Gary, John and I left at 10:00 am for a 132 mile motorcycle ride. Bud didn’t go with us today as he was still under the weather. We headed south for about 60 miles and then headed northeast to Bartow where we had lunch at McDonalds. Then up through Lakeland where we made a stop at the Harley dealer. I bought the gaskets I needed to change the oil in the primary case. We were back home by 3:00 pm. Cheri wasn’t home and figured she was up by Bev’s. A little later I got a call from Cheri and she was over by Grandma’s. She said she got a call from Grandma saying she was sick so Cheri went over and Grandma was sick to stomach and had a really bad headache. Cheri put her to bed where she went to sleep. I went over and talked with Cheri for a while and then went down to see how Bud was doing and he was much better today. Then I went up to our neighbors to pick up some things that they wanted to donate for our church yard sale in February. Then I went back to Grandmas and Cheri came home to get what she needed to fix supper at Grandma’s. Grandma woke up around 6:30 pm and she said she felt much better so we head back home and settled in for the evening. We were both tired and went to bed early.

It was a cloudy day with sun for maybe an hour and a high temp of 63 degrees. This forenoon we walked over to Dean and Betty’s for a visit as we haven’t seen them for some time. They both had had colds and we didn’t want to get any of that. We visited for a while and then played a couple of games of cards. After lunch I washed the 5th wheel, a good job to have done. It still needs to be waxed and some tender loving care. Then I went for a bicycle ride around the park to get some exercise as I haven’t walk because I am having trouble with my foot again. I made a few stops to see if anyone wanted to go for a motorcycle ride tomorrow. I managed to get one set up to leave at 10:00 am tomorrow, now I have to plan where we are going to ride. When I got back home Paul and Bev were here and wanted to know if we wanted to go to Dade City to have spaghetti and meat balls, sure could turn that down. We went to ABC’s Pizza, It is a place Cheri I haven’t been to before and the spaghetti and meat balls were excellent. The best part was it only cost us $10 to eat. When we got back we played dominos, Cheri and Bev won the first game and Paul and I won the other game. So nobody had bragging rights.

Cheri and I cut our walk short this morning and at 6:30 am we headed over to Wal-Mart before it got busy. Now that all the snowbirds are here it is almost imposable to get around in Wal-Mart. It was nice shopping without all the people. This forenoon we picked up some things that Paul and Bev had along with some things we had and took them to our church for the big yard sale they are going to have in February. On the way home we stopped at Winn Dixie and Sweet Bay to pick up some meat that they had on sale. After lunch we walked over to visit with Dean and Betty, but they had company so we came back home. Then I went to work on rerouting the wires from the new TV in the bedroom. In the process the Direct TV receiver quit working. So tomorrow I will contact Direct TV and see about getting a replacement receiver. Late this afternoon I rode my bicycle down to see Bud to set up a motorcycle ride on Wednesday. He is down with a bad sore throat. I am sure he won’t be going anywhere Wednesday. I got the grill out and grilled up a couple of rib eye steaks that we got today for supper, they were very good. It was another night with nothing good to watch on TV, although we did find a movie that was pretty good.

I woke up to a rain shower. Paul and I left at 7:45 am and headed for the Webster car show and swap meet. It quit raining before we got there and then the sun came out for a nice day. I saw a 1936 ford pickup I would love to have but it wasn’t for sale, I guess it wouldn’t have made any different if it was for sale as we aren’t ready for something like that, nice to dream. There weren’t has many vendors as there was last year. We were back home by 1:00 pm. Cheri was up to Bev’s they took Bret for a walk and then had a coffee and a visit. We order pizza for a late dinner. It has been a long time since have had any pizza, sure did taste good; we even saved some for supper. After watching the Packers in a nail bitter, they did win and squeaked in to the playoffs. So I will get to see the Packers play at least one more game. This evening we went down to see Larry and Denise as they are leaving tomorrow and probably won’t see them again until next fall. We hate to see them leave as they are going to Texas for the rest of the winter.

Happy New Year to everyone. I am slow getting this blog done as I had trouble with the computer this morning and then I was gone this forenoon and didn’t have time before I left. Larry, Denise, Cheri and I went for a motorcycle ride to Mt Dora. It is a very old town near Lake Dora. It has a lot of specialty shops which Cheri and Denise had a good time shopping. Because it was New Years day there were several shops that were closed. But they still found enough shops that were open. We ate lunch at Pisces Rising. We had a sandwich and a cup of garlic soup. When the waiter told us about garlic soup, we said that it didn’t sound very good. He brought us a sample so we could taste it. Well it was very good so we ordered it. We took a different route home and arrived back in Zephyrhills around 4:00 pm. We had made a stop in Dade City to take a short break. Then Larry and Denise let us ride their new 2011 Harley Atria Glide Limited with all the bells and whistles. It was a nice comfortable ride, but I still like my Road King. Our day trip was 136 miles. It was a fun day to be with friends. My neighbor said that I end the year right and started the New Year right by taking a motorcycle ride on the last day of the year and on the first day of the New Year.

Gay Dec-31-10

It’s hard to believe this is the last day of the year. Not sure where it went, we didn’t get to do all the things we planned on doing this year, but it still was a very good year for us. It wasn’t a very good year for Grandma but now she is doing great and once again enjoying herself playing cards and visiting lots of people. God has blessed us for another year and pray and hope we can learn and be the good christens he wants us to be. It was a beautiful day with a high of 75 degrees and lots of sunshine. It was a day begging for me to go for a motorcycle ride, so at 10:00 am Bud, Gary, Larry and I headed out for Crystal River. We took a new route to the Harley dealer and made our usual stop at Burger King. Our double cheese burger and senior drink price went up a few cents, it now cost us $2.10. It was a 150 mile ride and we got home around 3:30 pm. Cheri was just taking Grandma to Publix’s to get some groceries. Cheri and Denise had been shopping today and made the rounds at Beall’s outlet stores. This evening Paul, Bev, Cheri and I went out to Chili’s for supper. It wasn’t a very good experience as Paul, Bev and I each had baby back ribs and when they came they were barely warm. We sent them back and when they came back they still weren’t very hot and didn’t have any flavor. Plus Paul and I got ours back and was over half done before they brought back Bev’s. We have crossed them off our list as a place to go for a meal, although they do have a very good lunch of soup and salad. After we got back to Paul and Bev’s we play dominos, we ended the year on an even note as Cheri and Bev won one game and Paul and I won one. Happy new year to everyone and we pray that God blesses each everyone in the New Year.
