Today was another play day for me. I planned a motorcycle ride to the Harley dealer in Bradenton. There were six of us that left at 10:00 am. It was already in the mid 70’s by the time we left. It was also very windy which was bad for riding but as the temp climbed into the mid 80’s it didn’t seem so hot. I found a couple of different roads for our ride and a lot of the ride down to Bradenton was through tree cover areas and that helped break the wind. Once again we eat lunch at McDonalds where I got away $1.91 for lunch. It has been an ongoing thing to see how little we can spend for lunch. We did a total of 190 miles and made a couple of extra stops because of the distance and the hot weather. We were home by 4:30 pm. Cheri spent the whole day working on her quilt. I was surprised how much she got done. She said it was a fun day and everything went smoothly. Out Life Group gathering was this evening and was very good. On our way to the Life Group we stopped by Larry and Denis’s to see how Larry was doing. He is still having a lot of leg pain which is coming from his back. He said that he felt pretty good this morning and then he made the mistake of going to Wal-Mart. He said the walking was too much for him.

It was already in the low 60’s when I got up this morning and also was foggy but quickly cleared and warmed up to the low 80’s today. After a play day yesterday it was time to get back to work on the shed. I spent all day building shelves out of the materials that I had stored in the shed. Around 1:30 pm I ran out of screws and also wanted a new saw blade for the skill saw. I was about ready to leave on the motorcycle when Jim Beebe pulled up and want to know what I was doing. I told him about building shelves and was on my way to Lowe’s and he said that where he was headed and that I could ride with him, so that worked out nice. When I got home I put the new saw blade in the saw and made one cut and the saw died. So I got out the saber saw and did what I could with that until it was time to quit for the day. Cheri started the day with a load of laundry and then worked on her quilt project until it was time to go to her quilt gathering. When she got home I told her about the saw and that I wanted to go to Harbor Freight to get a new one. So I put everything back in the shed for the night and we headed for Lakeland to get a new saw. We also made a stop at Aldi’s to pick up some breakfast cereal that we like. On the way home we stopped at Subway for supper. We were home by 6:30 pm and ready to settle in for an evening of TV.

Cheri and I did our morning walk and workout at the Rec hall this morning. It is the first time we have done it this year. With us both being sick we didn’t feel good or have the energy to do it. So hopefully we can get back into our routine. I had planned on working in the shed today but we got a call from Larry and Denise last night wanting to know if we wanted to go for a motorcycle ride today. Of course we couldn’t turn that down. So at 10:00 am we left from Larry and Denise’s for Kissimmee to look at a couple of home to rent for Denise’s sister as she is coming down to Florida for a visit. We stopped in Clermont at Olive Garden for soup and salad, yah I know we were at Olive Garden yesterday but their soup and salad is so good. We also made a stop at a quilt shop in Clermont for Cheri but didn’t find what she was looking for. On the way back home we stopped in Dade City at the quilt shop and Cheri found the material she wanted. It was 4:00 pm when we got home and we both were exhausted. It was warm and cloudy which made for a very nice day for a motorcycle ride.

Not much change on Sunday. We picked up Grandma at 9:00 am and headed for church. Pastor Dean had another great sermon on Seeing What God Wants me to see. After Church eight of our Life Group went out for lunch at Olive Garden, the food is always good. Then after lunch we made a quick stop at Home Goods to return a soap dispenser that didn’t work right and couldn’t find one to replace it. It was almost 2:00 pm when we got home. I went to work on the shed and got another cabinet installed along with some pegboard. The next project is building shelves. Cheri worked on her new quilt project. We both quit at 4:30 pm and had enough for the day. We settled in for an evening of TV as it has been a while since we watched any TV. It was another beautiful day in the neighborhood. Temps in the high 70’s, lots of sunshine and we got to hear Gods word.

Larry & Denise and Cheri & I had a motorcycle ride planned for today and maybe Larry’s brother and his wife (Frank & Jane) to go to the biker bar north of here about 50 miles. Well by the time we were ready to leave at 11:00 am we had a total of nine motorcycles. Cheri and I led the group by way of all the back roads and made one rest and gas stop on the way. We arrived at Sleepy Hollow around 12:45 pm. We had a hard time finding a place to park as the parking lot was full and had to park on the other side of the bar. Sleepy Hollow is known for its great steak feed on Saturdays for six dollars which just went up a dollar this year. It is so much fun to see all the motorcycles and air boats that come by water. They also have a live band playing music and two or three vendors. We made one stop on the way home for gas and then when we got to Dade City I thought we could stop for ice cream but that didn’t work out as they had the traffic detoured and we could get to the ice cream shop. So we came on home. It was a fun day and everyone had a good time. Larry and Denise came over this evening and we helped them plan a trip to Alaska this summer. Being we have been there twice they want us to help them so they wouldn’t miss anything. I have uploaded pictures of the day, click on this link https://picasaweb.google.com/sharpstravels then click on album: Sleepy Hollow

It was 41 degrees this morning and very foggy, didn’t see any sun until around 10:00 am. Then it warm up to for a beautiful day. I worked all day on the shed and got some of the peg board installed and I built a counter off the end of the work bench to extend to the other side of the shed. I also got one cabinet put up. Maybe with any luck I can have it done in another week. Of course I will be taking time off to do some motorcycle riding. Cheri took Grandma to the bank this morning and did some laundry. After lunch she started a new quilt project. I haven’t seen what it is going to be but she has cut out a lot of material. This evening we went out to eat with Mike and Pam. It has been almost three weeks since we have last seen them as we have been sick and they have been sick also. After we eat we came back to our place and played a game of Hand, Knee and Foot. Cheri and Pam beat Mike and me really bad as the game was already pretty much over after the 2nd hand.

It was 42 degrees this morning but there was a lot of sun shine and quickly warmed up. I was feeling much better this morning, very little coughing and the back felt much better. So I was out working before 8:30 am. Just down the street a couple of homes they are putting in a concrete driveway and I needed some dirt to put around my shed and along the concrete I had poured. So I went down and asked them if I could get a few buckets and they said they would bring me a wheel barrow full, that sure was nice of them. I finished putting in the pavers and got the dirt spread around, looks much better. Then I moved the motorcycle out of the barn and filled it with some if the stuff I have in the shed so I could get the work bench in and see where I wanted to put the electrical outlets. I made my list and headed over to Lowe’s to get the materials I needed. When I got home Cheri had lunch ready for me. After lunch I went back to work on the electrical and installed two outlets in the shed and one outside. I also bought some peg board while I was at Lowe’s so tomorrow that is my project. Today was the first day I really felt like doing something and it felt good. Cheri did three loads of laundry and some cleaning. Then she worked on the quilt project that she said was done. She wasn’t happy the way the outside hearts came out so she sewed a smaller heart inside each of the big hearts. She got that all done today. We both had a very productive day. This evening we went up to Paul and Bev’s to play dominos. It was the guy’s night to shine. Although the first game came right down to the last hand but Paul and I pulled it off. God blessed us with a wonderful day and the energy we needed to do our work.

I am moving kind of slow this morning as my back is still bothering me, lot of pain down my left leg. Cheri started laundry early this morning. I finally got out around 10:00 am. I started putting the pavers around the shed when Paul and Bev came by on their walk. They stopped and visited a while. By the time they left it was time for lunch. After lunch I went back to work on the pavers. I was just over half done when Larry and Denise came over and wanted to know if we wanted to go to Harbor Freight. I will never pass a chance to go there. Larry was looking for some small turn tables. Cheri and I were good shoppers as we didn’t buy anything. Then we went to Sam’s where we did get some important things like M&M’s and Party Mix. We got a call from Pam and Mike letting us know that they were going to be able to go to the Life Group gathering this evening and would pick us up. We had some of the Halibut that I caught up in Alaska for supper, sure is good. It was another wonderful time at Life Group. It is always great when you can learn about God’s word.

Saturday I planned a motorcycle ride for today as it looked like it was going to be the best and warmest day of the week and it turned out to be a very nice day. Six of left at 10:00 am for a motorcycle ride to Crystal Springs with a stop at the Harley dealer and then a ride out to the end of a highway west of Crystal Springs to the gulf. It was a very winding road which made it a fun ride. We rode 175 miles and got home a little passed 4:00 pm. Cheri’s day was pretty much taken up by Grandma as she had two doctor’s appointments and had to get a prescription filled. She did get her quilt project completed today; I will post a picture tomorrow. Denise had sent me an e-mail letting me know that Larry had hurt his back and wouldn’t be going on the motorcycle ride today so we drove over to their place to see how Larry was doing. He was doing better but not great. We were going to go out for a bite to eat for supper and want to see if they want to go too. Well after visiting for a while Denise fixed us supper and then we played two games of Hand, Knee and Foot. Once again we each won one game so there were no bragging rights.

It turned out to be a pretty nice day, in fact it was warmer then they had predicted. We picked up Grandma a little earlier for church because we had the groceries to drop off at the food pantry. Pastor Dean’s message was another excellent message about “How the Bible Changes us”. After church nine of us went out for lunch at Panera Bread. We had a nice visit after lunch and then back home to relax the rest of the day. Cheri work on her quilt project for a while. I got up this morning exhausted and so I took a nap. I am still coughing and today was not a good day. I had planned on working on putting the pavers around the shed but just didn’t have the energy to do it.

Today started out just like yesterday but late morning the sun came out for a while making it a pretty nice day, still needed a jacket part of the time. Cheri worked all day on her quilt project. I did a few odd jobs like cleaning the coffee maker, replaced the outside scare light bulb, and regenerated the water softener. Lyn stopped by around 10:00 am for a visit and to see when we were going on our next motorcycle ride. So we got Monday set for a ride. Later I took the trash up to the dumpster and stopped by Paul and Bev’s. Paul asked us to go with them to the car show in Plant City this evening. On the way back from the post office I see Ed sitting out so I stopped for a short visit. Then it was time for a late lunch of soup that we made yesterday. This afternoon I went to Lowe’s and bought paver blocks to put around the base of the storage shed. Maybe I can get that project done next week. Paul and Bev picked us up at 4:00 pm and we headed to Plant City for the car show. It was the best one we have been to this season, saw lots of cars that we hadn’t seen before. After the car show we eat at the Crab Shack, we had been told by Lloyd and Loraine that it was good food and they were right. We got home around 8:00 pm, watched a little TV and called it a night.

It was 41 degrees and windy again this morning, also no sun, makes for a lazy day. On our way up to Grandma’s we stopped to visit with Norman and Marlene. Marlene is a quilter so she and Cheri always have a lot to talk about. Grandma needed a couple of things from the grocery store and we needed to pick up her medicine that we couldn’t get yesterday. This time Cheri called to see if it was ready and it was ready. First we went to Save a Lot to get groceries for the church food pantry and then to the bank for Grandma. Then over to Wal-Mart to pick up Grandma’s medicine, after waiting a half hour in line they told us that it was on back order. Well the smoke started to roll from Cheri and me as we told them we called and was told that it was ready. So they looked and found it in their drug delivery. So after waiting another ten minutes we finally got the medicine. By the time we got done with everything and back home it was 1:30 pm. We had made some cheesy potato soup this morning and were ready for a bowl when we got home. This afternoon Cheri did a little work on her quilt project and I did some reading and also took a nap. I am still coughing, I read on the internet that what’s going around last 18 days and I am now around 20 days so it should be coming to an end soon.

It was a damp windy day, not really that cold but with the wind and dampness it was jacket weather. We needed to go to Wal-Mart to get Grandma’s medicine and a few groceries. I waited in line for the medicine and then when I got up to the counter they told me it wasn’t ready as they were out of it and it wouldn’t be in until tomorrow. I so hate to going to Wal-Mart this time of the year. With all the snow birds it is hard to get around and people aren’t very polite anymore. The attitude seems to be all about me and the heck with you. We also made a stop at the post office to send back the defective DVR. It was the first time I have been to the post office and didn’t have to wait in line. We also made a stop at CVS for some more medicine for Grandma. While we were in there Larry and Denise came in and said why don’t you answer your phone? They had called while we were in Wal-Mart and our phones don’t always work in there. They were on their way to look at a model home and to Sam’s and wanted to know if we wanted to ride along. So we took our groceries home and they picked us up. The model home we looked at was pretty small but for Cheri and me it seemed pretty big as we don’t have much room in the 5th wheel. We got home around 5:30 pm and made plans to go over to Larry and Denise’s to play Hand, Knee and Foot this evening. It was another fun night and we each won a game.

I forgot to mention yesterday that I received the replacement DVR from Direct TV. I was surprised that it came so quick, but very happy to have it back. I still have to get it set up with all the show we record. This morning Cheri had to take Grandma for her doctor’s appointment and while they were waiting in the doctor’s office Cheri called me to take a prescription to CVS for Grandma. We were trying to hurry as we had plans to go to the big RV show in Tampa today. Long story short the prescription was too old and they wouldn’t fill it. So now we have to contact the doctor for a new one. Grandma’s appointment was for 11:30 am and didn’t get in until 12:45 pm. I went ahead and eat lunch and made a sandwich for Cheri. As soon as she got home Cheri eat her sandwich on the motorcycle as we were late getting to Larry and Denise’s to go to the RV show. We decided that if we didn’t see everything we wanted we would go back tomorrow. I had a few things I needed to take care of while I was there. One of them was the LED lights that I bought last year. Last week I took back the ones that had quit working and got replacements and they told me that I would have to talk to the guy from the company that makes them. Well I did take the rest of the lights back and they did replace them with new ones. I am sure I will have the same problem with the new ones. We did get to look at the new Excel 5th wheels. We did see one that we really liked but I think we are getting to the end of our full timing and the one we have now is OK. It was 5:45 pm when we left the RV show and didn’t get home until 6:40. We had a quick sandwich again as we had to be at our Life Group gathering at 7:00 pm. It sure was good to get back to the Bible study. We are doing 40 Days in the Word by Rick Warren. It is very interesting and looking forward to the next lesson.

It was another perfect day in the neighborhood. I helped Larry and Denise load up and move out. They are going to an RV park down the road a couple of miles. Sure hate to see them leave here. Well a couple of miles aren’t so bad. Our outside light burned out so I took the bulb out and went to see about a new one, I thought it would be a piece of cake getting a new bulb. I went to three different places with no luck, found lots of bulbs that would fit but none with enough wattage. So I have decided to wait until tomorrow as we plan on going to the big RV show in Tampa, maybe I will have better luck there. I also delivered the new work book to Pam and Mike for our Life Group. Pam and Mike are now going through the colds and flu that Cheri and I have had. This afternoon Cheri went for her quilt gathering. When I took the trash up to the dumpster I see Ed was sitting out so I stopped to visit and check out their new addition which is coming along nicely. This afternoon I stopped by Bud and Joyce’s for a visit and Bud said that they are going to put their place up for sale and if it sells they are going to Arizona next winter. I wasn’t happy about that because Bud is one of my motorcycle riding buddies.

Larry, Denise, Cheri and I headed out for a motorcycle ride at 9:30 am. Cheri and Denise wanted to go to a quilt shop in Dunedin (Rainbow Inn) which is on the gulf coast. We did make a stop at a Harley dealer on the way. When we got to the quilt shop it was closed. New store hours are now Tuesday through Saturday and closed on Sunday and Monday. Cheri and Denise were really disappointed as they have heard so much about it and it was a 53 miles to get there. While we were there two different ladies arrived and were planning to shop. Cheri asked one of the ladies if there were any other quilt shops in the area. She said let me check as she had a cell phone app that located all the quilt shops. So Cheri got the address of one that was open. Our next stop was the beach where we had lunch at the Rock a Way Grill which is right on the beach. The food was excellent. Cheri and I had eaten there several years ago and enjoyed it then. After lunch it was time to walk the beach. Then it was time to start for home with a stop at the quilt shop that was open (Crafty Threads). Denise was able to find all the material she was looking for and Cheri bought a pattern. It was 5:30 pm when we arrived home. It was a 130 mile ride and a perfect day for it.

It was another beautiful day in the neighborhood. We picked up Grandma at 9:00 am and headed to church. We are starting a new series called 40 Days in the Word. Today’s message was why can I trust the Bible? It was a great message and looking forward to our Life Group starting Wednesday night. After church we met Ron and Sandy with their grandson at Chili’s for lunch. After we dropped off Grandma we went to the grocery store to pick up a few things. By the time we got done with our shopping and home it was near 2:00 pm. We checked to see if Larry and Denise wanted to play cards this afternoon but they weren’t home so we settle in to do some reading and a short time later Larry and Denise came home so we checked with them on playing cards, so that is how we spent the rest of the day. We played a couple games of Hand, Knee and Foot. Cheri and Denise beat Larry and me pretty bad the first game but we came back to win the next one. This evening we tried to watch some TV. Watching TV without the DVR really sucks; don’t like watching all the commercials.

We have had the most beautiful weather for the last week and it looks like we will have it for the next week or so with temps in the high 70’s and low 80’s. When you don’t feel good the weather can also have an effect on you. Cheri is back to good health and I am still coughing. This morning I took the trash up to the dumpster and stopped by Paul and Bev’s to see if they were going to the car show over at Wire Grass today. Paul had forgotten about it. So we made plans to leave at 11:00 am. When I got back to the 5th wheel Cheri was sitting outside talking to Marlene. Then Larry and Denise came over with a cup of coffee to see what we were doing today. Denise wanted to go for a motorcycle ride over to the gulf. Also the girls were talking about a quilt shop in that area that they want to go to. I think we are going to go Monday. I called to get a replacement DVR this morning and was on the phone with them for about 45 minutes. I told them it was dead and wouldn’t turn on but I had to go through and try all their fixes. The first thing he asked me do you have a picture on the TV. I told you it was dead and it went downhill from there. The car show wasn’t has nice as it was last year. They did have a lot more cars but they were mostly later year cars and we enjoy seeing the old cars from the 40’s 50’s and 60’s. After the car show we went for a late lunch at A Taste of Boston. The food was really good and plan on going back again. When we got home Cheri and I both took a nap. This evening Cheri watched the Miss America Pageant and watched the Green Bay Packers get whipped by the 49ers.

God has blessed us with a wonderful day and Cheri and I are feeling better each day. It has been a long haul but we are so blessed to have family and friends praying for us. Thank you. Yesterday Bud bought an air horn for his motorcycle and this morning he brought his bike over to have Larry and me do the install. It took a while to get the wiring run and the relay installed. When it come to installing something electrical on a motorcycle it takes a little more work to get the wiring in the right place so it won’t get burnt from the heat of the engine. It was near noon before we finished with the horn and Bud was very happy with the way it came out. After lunch I wasn’t sure if I wanted to tackle putting in the new vent or not, but Larry came over to help me and that made it much easier and faster to have the extra hands. Within an hour it was done and working. Cheri had worked on doing a couple of loads of laundry and worked on her quilt hanging. Denise came over to check on Cheri’s quilt project and then they wanted to go for a motorcycle ride. So we did an 85 mile ride and ended up at Applebee’s for supper. It was near 6:30 pm when we got home. This afternoon Cheri couldn’t get the DVR to come on, so this evening I checked it out and it has died. So in the morning I will have to call Direct TV to have a replacement shipped out. We didn’t have a lot of shows recorded so we didn’t lose a lot. So we went to bed early so we could watch TV.

Cheri and I are both feeling better but both of us are still coughing. I think we are back among the living. Another reason I know we are feeling better is Cheri and Denise went shopping and Larry and I along with the rest of the guys went for a motorcycle ride. Two of our riding group has the flue so we were a group of four. We did a 162 mile ride ending in Leesburg. I found a couple of new roads which is what it is all about. It was near 4:00 pm when we got home. It was a beautiful day for riding, partly cloudy with a temp near 80 degrees. Cheri and Denise went to the quilt shop in Plant City that they discovered a few days ago. Cheri was working on her quilt project when I got home, looking very nice. I had ordered a new roof vent to replace the existing one in the kitchen as it will no longer open and the vent cover has a crack in it. It came this evening so now I know what I will be doing tomorrow.

Well I am not feeling as good as I did yesterday; the good news is Cheri is feeling better. Cheri did some laundry this morning and did some work on her quilt project. I had a motorcycle ride planned for the day but had to cancel it as I had to take Grandma for her doctor’s appointment. It was probably for the best because I don’t think I was really ready for a motorcycle ride. After Grandma’s doctor’s appointment we went to Publix’s so she could get groceries. Cheri and I didn’t do much the rest of the afternoon. I cleaned our sneakers and flushed the hot water tank. Today was the buy one get one free at Winn Dixie’s, so late this afternoon I asked Cheri if she wanted to go and get some chicken and she said that she didn’t feel like it. I said I was going to treat you to Blizzard at DQ. All of a sudden she felt better and was ready to go. So off to Dade City we went with our first stop at Subway to have a sub for our supper, then to Winn Dixie’s for the chicken plus a few other things. The last stop was for the Blizzards at DQ. It cost us more for our Blizzards then it did for our subs, drink and two cookies.

Cheri said that her throat wasn’t sore this morning but she does have a full blown cold. So she isn’t feeling very good. I continue to improve each day. We made a trip to Wal-Mart this morning as our cupboards were bare. Going to Wal-Mart this time of the year is an experience that I wouldn’t wish on anyone, way too many people and they don’t care about where they park their carts, so most of the isles are blocked. This afternoon I took the wind chimes that I had put together up to Betty’s. We sat and visited for a while. Then I stopped by Lyn’s to tell him I couldn’t go for a motorcycle ride tomorrow as I have to take Grandma for her doctor’s appointment. Later this afternoon I helped Cheri take a nap, any way I thought she needed help. I am still looking for some much needed energy.

Things are looking up for me, this morning as I felt better than I have for a week. I am still doing a lot of coughing. Last year at the RV show I bought LED replacement bulbs for the 5th wheel. Love the light they put out but don’t last so long. I had bought 22 of them and 8 of them have died. So today we planned on taking the bad ones back to the store in Tampa to have them replaced. Denise came over to see how Cheri was doing on her quilt project and we told them what our plans were and they said they would go along and that Larry would drive. Denise and Cheri wanted to go to a quilt shop in Plant City so we made that part of our trip. On the way to Plant City from Tampa we made a stop at Parkesdale Farm Market for their famous strawberry shortcake. It is always a treat to have some of their strawberry shortcake. Then we headed down town to the quilt shop. When we got to the door there was a sign that said they were closed for inventory. A young lady was at the door talking to another person when we walked up. We told her that we had come from Zephyrhills. She did let us in but said she couldn’t sell anything. Well Denise found the material she has been looking for and that met that she would have to come back another day to buy it. The young lady came over and told Denise that the material that she wanted wasn’t inventoried and she would sell it to her, how nice was that of her. After we got home I installed the new LED lights. Then was time to sit down as I was really tired for my first day out. Later this evening Cheri said she now has a sore throat. I hope she gets over it faster than I did. Thanks Larry for driving today as I think it would have been more than I wanted today.

I am still very tired but feeling better each day, still doing a lot of coughing. We didn’t go to church as I didn’t think it would be a good idea for me to be out among the living. Cheri got up very tired this morning all because of my coughing that keep her awake. Cheri worked on her quilt project for a while today and was having trouble so she put aside for the day. Paul called and wanted me to go to a car swap meet which I also turned down. Today was the big Greek Fest in Tarpon Springs and Larry came over to see if we wanted to ride the motorcycles over for that, we also passed on that. So it was another day of TV and reading. Cheri did give me a haircut. I did take a walk around the park late this afternoon, I just felt like I needed to get out and get a little exercise. We will see what tomorrow brings.

Gay Jan-5-13

I feel about the same as yesterday, doing a lot of coughing. It was another foggy and cloudy morning which doesn’t help make you feel better. So long story short I did a lot of reading and some TV. Cheri worked all day on her quilt project. Denise came over and asked Cheri if she wanted to go to Jo-Ann’s this afternoon and Cheri said she didn’t have anything she wanted and didn’t go, boy was I surprised. When Larry and Denise got home Denise brought over the material she bought for the quilt she is working on. But after Denise got it laid out on the bed she didn’t like the material she bought. She had Cheri go over and look at it. Between the two of them they figured out how to do it without the piece of material she bought. Later today the sun came out and warmed up for a very nice day. Around 3:00 pm I ventured out for the first time since Tuesday. I see Larry was out working on something so walked over to see what he was up to. He was installing ancillary fan in the back of the refrigerator. So I spent a little time helping him with that. On the way back to the 5th wheel I see our neighbor that is behind us has arrived and was outside. So I went over and had a visit with him. He had a dispute with the property line between us this spring and wasn’t happy with the outcome. He called me a couple of very bad names and said we would never be neighbors. So I said that we got off to a bad start this spring and asked him if we could start over, so we shook hands and visited for a while. I had done a lot of praying on how to approach him over the summer.

I got sleep in the bed last night and I am feeling some better this morning, still really tired and my body hurts all over. I have been worried that Cheri is going to catch whatever it is I have, so far she has escaped it. It is a nasty damp day so I have decided to stay inside and keep the recliner warm. Denise came over around 11:30 am and wanted to know if Cheri wanted to go shopping as she is looking for some material to finish the quilt that she is working on. They left around 1:00 pm and didn’t get home until 6:30 pm. I watched a lot of TV, some reading and even a nap or two.

It was another bad night for me; I spent the last two nights sleeping (trying to sleep) in the living room so not to disturb Cheri. I feel much worst this morning than I did yesterday. In fact I went back to bed at 9:00 am and didn’t get up until 1:30 pm. Cheri had made chicken noodle soup for us and that didn’t set well with me. It was after 4:00 pm before I could drag myself to the shower. Cheri worked all day on her quilt project and Playing cards holders around 6:00 pm I was going to take the garbage up to the dumpster, but started feeling bad again; guess I was getting a fever. I couldn’t get warm enough and then around 9:00 pm the fever broke and I started feeling better. Sure hope tomorrow brings a better day.

I am sick today so I had to pass on the motorcycle ride. You know I am really under the weather when I pass on a motorcycle ride. I spent the day in the recliner not wanting to do anything; In fact it was after 3:00 pm before got my shower done. Cheri did some laundry this morning and then took Grandma for two doctor’s appointments, one at 9:30 am and one at 11:30 am. Cheri and Denise did get a chance to go to the grocery store between appointments. It was after 2:00 pm before she got home. She did a little work on the playing card holders.

Happy New Year to one and all, it hasn’t started out so well for me as I got up this morning with a sore throat. I really didn’t feel like doing much of anything. We had a motorcycle ride planned today. It is the CMA High Noon Ride. It started about 30 miles from here and decided I would go. It was just Larry, Denise, Cheri and I that went. We had a good time as there were around 200 motorcycle or more. They did a blessing of the motorcycles and then we did the High Noon Ride. We didn’t want to get in the mix with all the other bikes so Cheri says why don’t we do the ride in the opposite direction, so that’s what we did (she is so smart) and it was a very nice 50 mile ride. When we got back to the starting point they had lunch for all of us along with door prizes. We got home around 3:30 pm and I crashed for the rest of the day. I did watch the Wisconsin Badgers get beat; they did come close a couple of time but couldn’t pull it out. Cheri now has her design wall up and part of her new quilt project is on it. She worked on it and the playing card holders. I have a motorcycle ride scheduled for tomorrow with the guys here in the park. If I don’t feel any better in the morning I won’t be going. You know I have to be pretty sick not to go.

Gay Dec-31-12

The weather was a little cool this morning but turned out to be a beautiful day. I got all my paper work together and was ready to head out to the Sprint store to check out our cell phone and data plan. Larry came over with some movies that we let them have to watch. I had Larry bring over his new hot spot so I could try it out on our computer to see if the internet speed was any faster then what we have now and it was a bit faster as theirs is 4G and we have 3G. We talked for a bit and we also wanted to go to Wal-Mart as they did too so off the four of us go. The first stop was Wal-Mart and when we left there Larry dropped me off at Beall’s so I could get a new pair of shoes while they took the groceries back home. I got my new shoes that where on sale plus I had a 10 dollar coupon, so I saved 30 dollars. I had to wait only a couple of minutes before they were back to pick me up. Then we headed to the Sprint store and made a couple of changes to our plan and found out that Sprint doesn’t have 4G in our area. They plan on having it sometime in 2013. Being our data plan has unlimited usage we decided to wait a while before we do anything. We made a quit stop at Big Lots, Larry was looking for a cheap HDMI cable for his new TV. He can save about 15 dollars by ordering it off the internet, so he has decided to do that. When we got home Cheri worked on her new quilt project and I took a nap. Paul and Bev picked us up at 5:30 pm to go to eat at Chili’s. We had a couple of drinks to celebrate the New Year and the meal was great. Then we headed back to Paul and Bev’s to play dominos. It was another fun evening with Paul and Bev. We were home around 11:15 pm. We headed off to bed and watched a little TV and we were both awake at 12:00 am so we celebrated with a kiss and called it a night. It is the first time we have been awake for the New Year in many years.
