Cheryl had to leave for
work at 6:30 am so I was up to thank her for all she has done the last few days
for Cheri and me. Cheri was up early also as we planned on being on the road
for home by 9:00 am. It was another cold morning when I went out to put the
luggage in the car it was all white with frost which is as close to snow as I ever
want to get any more. We said our goodbyes to Chris and Darren and were on the
road by 9:20 am. The traffic was fairly heavy on I-75 but moved along pretty
good until we got to Ocala and then it was really heavy and much slower until
we got off I-75 (about 40 miles of it). We got home a little past 5:00 pm and
pretty tired from the day of travel. The trip was a total of 950 plus miles and got 36.1 miles per gallon which made me happy. Cheri fixed a pizza for supper and we watch
some TV before calling it a night.

Chris works at Harbor Freight
and because of Black Friday he had to be at work at 3:00 am. The rest of us
slept in and had a nice breakfast that Cheryl made. After a lot of visiting it
was time to face the 27 degree morning. The high today was around 49 degrees,
didn’t seem as bad as yesterday as it wasn’t as windy. The ladies headed out
for Black Friday shopping. Darren and I headed for the grocery store to pick up
a few things that Chris needed for the dinner he was going to prepare for us.
After the grocery shopping Darren and I went to Home Depot to look around, didn’t
find anything we needed so went back to the house and Chris was home working on
things for our dinner. Darren and I went back into town to meet the girls for a
late lunch at the Corner Deli. After lunch the girls went back to shopping and
Darren and I returned to the house to visit with Chris. When the girls got home
Cheri made a peanut butter pie for Chris as he said that was is favorite pie.
We had New York Strip steaks on the grill that Chris had marinating in his
special sauce. After dinner it was more visiting and TV. It was another great
day spent with new friends.

Happy Thanks Giving to everyone. It is another cold morning
here in Carrollton, 29 degrees this morning and topped out at 50 degrees with
wind. There wasn’t anything for me to be outside so stayed in all day. Chris
and Sheryl fixed us a fabulist breakfast. The rest of the morning was spent
visiting and getting things ready to have 23 people for dinner. It was a great
time and met so many new people. Chris and Sheryl made us feel very special and
seated us at the head of the table, something we have never done before, what
an honor. We visited and watched football this afternoon. After all of Sheryl’s
family left we settled in for more visiting and football. After a light snack
this evening we played three game of Skip-Bow. Darren won the first, me the
second, and Cheri the last one. It was a wonderful day and was blessed to spend
it with Darren and his friends.

It is cold here this
morning, in the low 40’s and a high of 51 plus a stiff breeze. We had breakfast
at the motel and it was really bad. After we got the car packed up we went
shopping, Belk’s, Target, Ross, and Wal-Mart. Then it was time for soup and
salad at Olive Garden. Darren called and said that he was on his way to his
friends (Chris and Sheryl Bass) house and we could meet him there. They have a
lovely home in the country about six miles from Carrollton. We hung out and
talked with Chris and Darren until Chris had to go to work. Sheryl didn’t get
home from work until 7:00 pm so we had a late dinner at a restaurant in Carrollton;
don’t remember what the name of it was but the food was excellent. It was
pretty late by the time we got back and was ready for bed.

We got on the road at 9:00
am in the rain; first stop was Wal-Mart to fill the car with gas. We drove in
some pretty hard rain and when we got on I-75 the rain really came down and the
traffic was moving between 25 and 40 mile per hour. This lasted until just
south of Ocala, then we had rain off and on (mostly on) until we were about 40
miles from our destination, Carrollton GA, 468 miles and it is only 50 degrees.
We got into our motel (Super Eight) at 6:15 pm. After we got checked in we
found out that there was Applebee’s just down the road from the motel. We had a
good meal and was back to the motel by 7:30 pm. Just in time to get ready for
the final Dancing with the Stars so I thought. Yep it started on time at 8:00
pm but I didn’t know it was going to be three hours long. I had a hard time
staying awake as I was tired from the long drive. I do think the judges wimped
out the last two nights and should have done what judges are supposed to do and
judge the dances. Maybe they were told by the network to give them all tens.
Anyway the right person did win. Ok now it’s time to go to sleep.

Cheri headed to the pool
this morning for her exercise; it has been a while since she was last there as
the water has been too cold for her or it had been raining. I left a little
before 9:00 am and headed over to Larry and Denise’s to help Larry power wash
their house. I didn’t think I was going to make it through the project, was
almost more than I could handle today. Larry asked me if I wanted to stop for
lunch and I said that if we stopped I wouldn’t be able to get back to it. We
finished with the house at 2:00 pm. Larry still had the driveway to power wash.
I couldn’t help with that so I headed home for a hot shower and tried to take a
nap, did fall asleep for about an hour. Cheri had been getting things together
for our trip to Atlanta to see Darren. She also finished the wreath that she
was working last Friday, looks really nice. We had an early supper because I
skipped lunch. Then we settled in for an evening of TV and Dancing with the
Stars. Cheri was happy with the results. I had trouble staying awake to watch
it with Cheri.

Grandma didn’t go to
church with us today. She was invited to go to church with friends in the park
as they were having their Thanks Giving today and wanted her to come. Pastor
Mike delivered the message today from the book of Ephesians chapter 6. Both
Cheri and I had a problem getting into the message today. Sunday school was
great again today, studying A New Kind of Community, Hebrews 12:18-24. Cheri
and I had lunch by ourselves at Chili’s back in Zephyrhills. While we were
having lunch we decided we weren’t going to do anything but rest today. Well
that didn’t last long because Pam called Cheri and wanted to know if she wanted
to go shopping and of course she said yes and on the way home Larry called and
wanted me to go to Lowe’s with him this afternoon. When we put the fireplace together
last night there was two pieces that had been cut at a knot in the trim left a
knot hole. So Larry had called over to Lowe’s and talked to them and they told
him to bring in a picture of the damage. After all was said and done they gave
Larry an additional 30 percent off. Then Larry and I made a trip to Harbor Freight
in Lakeland. I bought an air hose and hoes reel for the new air compressor. I
was back home by 4:00 pm and Cheri got home around 5:00 pm, so much for
relaxing today.

Larry and Denise came over
at 9:30 am. Larry and I headed over to Grandma’s to power wash her house. Early
this morning it was raining and then stayed cloudy and breezy most of the day
which made a perfect day for power washing. We got a good start and then the
hose connection broke and we had to go over to Lowe’s to get a repair kit. We
had to walk by the fireplace entertainment centers. So we checked them out and
Larry found one that he liked, he called Denise and told her about it and she
said to go ahead and buy it. Well we had to wait a long time before we could
find someone to help us, Larry was ready to leave and I said that we were
already here and had the truck to haul it home. Well we got the last one they
had in stock and while we were getting it someone else came by and wanted one,
good thing we waited. We dropped it off a that Larry and Denise’s and then it
was back to the power washing project. Denise was busy trying to get different
carrier for internet service, not happy with the one that they have. Then Cheri
and Denise went shopping at Wesley Chapel. They called us around 1:30 pm and
wanted to know if we had lunch, we didn’t so they stopped on the way home to get
us a sub at Subway. It was around 4:00 pm when we got done with the power
washing and back to our place. Cheri fixed the four of us supper. After supper
Larry and I went over to their place and we unpacked the fireplace and put it
together (some assembly required). It took us about an hour to get it together
and looks really nice. It was after 8:00 pm went I got back home. We settled in
for the evening, me watching the Badger football game I had recorded and Cheri
playing solitaire on her I-pad.

I sent Larry and Denise an
e-mail early this morning to see if they wanted to ride along with us to
Brandon to return Grandma’s shoes and would be leaving at 10:00 am. I got an
e-mail back and they said they would be ready to go. Cheri returned the shoes
and then asked to order the ones Grandma wanted. They checked with all their
stores and they didn’t have any so Cheri said that she wanted to order them and
was told that they had been discontinued. They also said that there was a SAS
outlet store in the Ellenton outlet mall. Our next stop was Costco’s in
Brandon. Larry and Denise have a membership there so we checked it out, didn’t
find anything we needed. From there we went to Old Time Pottery for Cheri and
Denise. Then we headed to Ellenton to see about the shoes, first we stopped for
a very late lunch at a restaurant by the mall called Peaches. We were there
last year with Pat and Roger and it was very good. We found the shoe store and
asked them if they had the shoes that Grandma wanted and they didn’t have them.
Cheri asked them if they could be ordered. She looked them up and said that
they could be ordered and mailed to us. Our last stop was in Plant City at
Southern Hospitality which is a large furniture and craft store. Larry and
Denise are looking for a fireplace entertainment center for their new TV. They
found one that they liked and have put it on their list along with one from
Costco. It was near 6:30 pm when we got home. We watched a little TV and called
it a night.

It was still cold this
morning but a couple of degrees warmer than yesterday. We really didn’t have
any plans for today. We got a call early from Larry and Denise asking if they
could come over and use our phone to get their internet service set up. They
came around 9:30 am, after Denise got their internet service working we all
went to the flea market. Larry was looking for a TV antenna which he found. We
stopped back at our place for lunch and then over to Larry and Denise’s. Denise
and Cheri covered their dining room chairs with some new Florida material with
sea horses on it. Larry and I put up the antenna and got the cable run to the
TV. They get a lot of channels off the air. Then Larry and I attached the seats
back on the chairs, Cheri and Denise did an excellent job covering them. When
we got home Cheri fixed the left over pizza we brought home from Pizza Hut. At
4:45 pm we picked up Grandma and took her to Wal-Mart so she could get her hair
cut. While she was getting her hair cut Cheri and I got her groceries. When we
got back to her place she told us that the new shoes she got don’t fit, so we
will have to make a trip to Brandon to return them and order a different pair.

I got up at 5:00 am to a
temp of 37 degrees (not to my liking) and the high topped out at 59 degrees,
that didn’t happen until 4:00 pm and then started going down again. I helped
Cheri this morning to get tables and things set up for the wreath making today.
Pam is coming over to show Denise and Cheri how to make wreaths. Pam brought
their van so I could install the new door handle as the old one was broke and
they couldn’t open the driver’s door from the inside. It didn’t take very long
to install it and I must say it probably went faster because of the cold breezy
weather. Mike also stopped by and did help me put the door panel back together.
We also helped the girls cut mesh for the wreaths they were making. Then Mike and
I made a trip to Hobby Lobby to get some more mesh. We got some for Denise but
didn’t have the color that Cheri needed. This afternoon I took Larry and Denise’s
truck back to their place because Larry was washing the trailer and needed the
truck to put the trailer in storage for the winter. I also help Larry with the
Murphy bed. When we put the mattress in and tried to close it up the mattress hit
the head board, so we took the bed apart and raised the head board so the
mattress as more room when you close the bed. We just finished with that when
Cheri and Denise came. It was 2:30 pm and was hungry because none of us stopped
for lunch. So we headed over to Pizza Hut for a meal of Pizza. We made a stop
at Lowe’s has Larry and Denise said that the drains were running slow, so Larry
bought a flush adapter for a garden hose and will be able to put some water
pressure into the drains and see if that cleans them out. Cheri and I got home
around 4:30 and were done for the day.

Larry and Denise picked us
up at 9:30 am to go shopping. They needed to get a new mattress for the Murphy bed
that Larry made and internet service. Our first stop was Home Depot to see if
there was room in the truck to pick up the air compressor, we measured the room
we had in the truck bed and then the compressor and it wouldn’t fit with the
extra racking Larry had on the truck for the mattress they are going to buy. Wal-Mart
in Wesley Chapel was the next stop. Denise wanted to check on getting a temporary
internet through Version for three month until Bright House gets the internet
service in their park. I bought a cheap Dash Cam for the car. Our next stop was
Michaels for craft materials as Pam is showing Cheri and Denise how to make
Christmas reefs tomorrow. Then we headed to Sam’s for some groceries and the
mattress, first we had a slice of pizza and drink for lunch. We looked at the
mattresses, Larry and Denise already knew what they wanted because they had
bought one this summer and are very happy with it. We have been thinking about
getting a new and as long has Larry and Denise were getting one it was a good
time for us to get one too as there was room for an extra mattress on the truck.
We dropped off Larry and Denise’s mattress and then to Lowe’s so Larry and
Denise could get the paint they wanted to paint the Murphy bed and the spare
bed/sewing room. Then we headed to our place to drop off our new mattress and loaded
up the old one to take it to the dump. While Larry and I were doing the dump
thing Denise and Cheri went to Wal-Mart to get the air internet card to use as
they can pay as they go until Bright House brings in internet service. After
leaving the dump Larry and I stopped at Home Depot and picked up my new air compressor.
After all was said and done we ended up at Larry and Denise’s for a wonderful supper
of roast pork, onions, potatoes, and carrots all done in the crock pot. After
supper we played one game of Hand, Knee, and Foot that Larry and I won. It was
a great day and got a lot done.

The day started out with a
lot of sunshine and clear. But it didn’t last very long as by 9:30 am it was
starting to cloud up and the wind started blowing, by 11:00 am we had a few sprinkles
and by noon we had rain and that was for the rest of the day. At 9:30 am we
headed over to see Larry and Denise. Larry was already putting together the
Murphy bed that he had built in Ontario and brought down. While I helped Larry,
Denise and Cheri went shopping and came back to fix a late lunch for us and
then shopping again and didn’t see them again until around 5:00 pm. Larry and I
got the bed together and is now ready for paint. Larry and I went to Lowe’s to
get some bolts for the cabinet doors that are part of the Murphy bed. When we
got back Denise and Cheri had supper ready for us. After supper we play one
game of Hand, Knee, and Foot which the girls won, was a close game until the
last hand. We got home around 8:30 pm and settled in to watch Dancing with the
Stars. I fell asleep watching and finally went to bed and left Cheri to watch
by herself.

It was a beautiful day
with temps back to 80 degrees. We picked up Grandma and took her to church with
us. Pastor Randy had an excellent message to day (It’s Not a Position but a
Profession!) from Romans 3:1-8. Also a good Sunday school lesson (The
Discipline of Suffering) from Hebrews 12:1-7. After Sunday school class we had
a gathering called Linger Longer with Soup, Salad, and Dessert, we got to meet
some more of our Sunday school friends. After we dropped Grandma off we made a
stop at the grocery store to pick up a few things for Larry and Denise as they
will be here late this afternoon, wanted them to have enough to get by this
evening and tomorrow morning without having to go out for groceries. Larry has
a bad cold and has been a long hard three day trip. When we got home I settled
in for an afternoon of Packer football and NASCAR racing. Cheri went to the
sewing room to work on her art work painting. Denise called around 4:00 pm and
said that they had arrived and we decide to wait until tomorrow to go and see
them as we know they are very tired from their trip down.

Hard to believe that Nov
is half over already, Turkey day will be here before we know it. Cheri thought
it would be a good idea to go out for breakfast in the Highlands where Mike and
Pam live. Pam was telling us the restaurant is now serving breakfast at
reasonable price. Well she wasn’t wrong, great breakfast in fact we should have
shared a meal as there was a lot of food. Another reason Cheri wanted to go to
the Highlands is they are having their park wide yard sale today. We park toward
the middle of the park and started walking to check out the sales. Cheri bought
some Christmas stuff. Then we drove over to Grand Horizon Park, they had their
Park wide sale today along with a craft sale at their club house. I did find a
power cord that I can use with the generator to supply power to the house if we
lose commercial power. I had a cord that would have worked and wasn’t thinking
and sold it at our yard sale this spring. I was pretty upset with myself
because I sold it for 15 dollars and it was going to cost me around 40 dollars
to replace it. Well I ended up paying 10 dollars for the one today, just like
the one I sold, so I came out ahead. When we got home I went out and trimmed
all the blossoms from the Mom’s as they were turning dark and were done blooming.
Cheri headed over to Beall’s as she had a coupon she wanted to use. Late this
afternoon Cheri made a crock pot of Chile for supper and to take to church
tomorrow as the Sunday school class is getting together after class to have
lunch and get to know each other. I settled in to watch the Wisconsin Badgers
play Nebraska. I really thought that Nebraska would probably win but the
Badgers came though and won big time.

It was a more relaxed day,
no big plans. Cheri left for the pool and came right back in and said that it
was misting out. It was a gloomy cool morning and didn’t see any sun until
after lunch, not sure what the high temp was today but I don’t think it made it
to 70. Cheri did her Friday laundry and house cleaning. She also finished her
Christmas tree skirt and has already started on her next project; she is going
to try to do a painting. I did a little clean up out in the shop and made a
mount for the GPS unit that we used in the truck so I can use it on the
motorcycle. I got that done and looks good on the motorcycle. Now I need to
come up with something that I can use for sun shield as when the sun hit the
screen you can’t see anything. I will have to dream on that for a while. Once
again I did some internet searching for an air compressor and nailed it down to
one that they have at Home Depot. I told Cheri I wanted to go and look at it
and also do some more checking on the vinyl fence that I want to put up in part
of the carport to hide my work area. On the way home from Home Depot we made a
stop at Larry and Denise’s to check their house, they should be here late tomorrow.
Cheri and I had to do security this evening and put on extra clothes to keep
warm as it was pretty cool riding around in the golf cart. A little past 11:00
pm, we called it a night and headed home.

Let’s see Friday the
thirteenth came on Thursday so I guess it is OK to be out and about. When Cheri
got back from the pool we headed over to the flea market here in Zephyrhills.
It just started a couple of weeks ago and we keep forgetting to go. It was fun
checking things out and to see what was new this year. I got a new 2015 Bike
Week tee shirt, talk about getting ahead of the game as Bike Week isn’t until
March. We saw Ron and Sandy at the flea market and visited with for a bit. When
we got home Cheri started putting the binding on her Christmas tree skirt. I
called Mike to see if he was going to be home. The door handle on their van is
broke and can’t open the driver’s door from the inside. He was home so I took
the motorcycle and went to see if I could fix it. Mike and I had a nice visit
and then back home to see about ordering a new handle off the internet. I did
find one and it should be here next week, should only take about half an hour
to install it. Pam called Cheri this afternoon and wanted to know if we want to
go out for supper and Cheri said of course we would. We picked up Mike and Pam
at 4:30 pm and headed to Francesco’s restaurant in Dade City. We all had their
Greek salad which is always good. Then we headed back to Mike and Pam’s for an
ice cream Sunday and more visiting. They told us about the good time they had
on their cruise with Ron and Sandy.

I was up a 5:00 am as I
had to leave here at 6:20 am for a 7:00 am appointment to have the oil changed
in the car at the Honda dealer in Wesley chapel. It was our first time getting
the oil changed and doing business with them. I was really impressed with how
well they took care of me. On the way home I stopped at the big Wal-Mart in
Wesley Chapel to pick up some breakfast sausage plus a couple of other things
that I didn’t know I needed. When I got home I found Cheri busy in the sewing
room. After lunch I went out and painted the lumber rack. When you look at the
pictures you probably wonder why I would paint it yellow. Well it’s like this,
Cheri wanted yellow paint for the master bathroom and what she bought was too
bright and we had to mix a lot of white to get it toned down to the color she
wanted. After she got the color of yellow she wanted we still had almost a full
gallon of yellow paint. So that is why the lumber rack is yellow and probably
many other things will be yellow. By late afternoon the lumber rack was done, tomorrow
I will get all the lumber loaded on it. Cheri finished the quilting on her
Christmas tree skirt, all she has left to do is the binding.

It is Veterans Day today
so let’s all thank a veteran for serving our country so we can have our freedom,
in fact it is something we should every day when we see a veteran or a person
that is now serving our country. Cheri did her Tuesday house cleaning and then
spent the rest of the day quilting. I worked outside on my rolling lumber rack.
At 2:00 pm I took a break for a very late lunch and early supper. We went over
to Chili’s for lunch because they were giving a free meal to all veterans. From
there we stopped at Lowe’s has I needed a few things for the lumber rack I am
building. When we got home Cheri went back to quilting and I outside. I
finished the lumber rack at 5:00 pm and it is now ready for paint. We both had
a good day and got a lot done.

Cheri wanted to know what
I was going to do today. I was going to start working on the rolling lumber
rack but Grandma has wanted to go and get some new shoes so before starting
another project we decided to take her for new shoes. After Cheri got done with
her pool exercise we picked up Grandma and headed to Lakeland. There is only
one style of shoe that she will wear and it is a SAS shoe. It is the only one
that fits her for every day walking. There are only two shoe stores that carry
them. Our first stop was the store in Lakeland. They didn’t have any in her
size so we headed to Brandon the other store that carries them. They also didn’t
have her size in stock. But they were able to order what she wanted and have it
shipped to her. It was after 1:00 pm before we got done with the shoes and
Grandma treated us to lunch at Applebee’s in Brandon. It was around 2:30 pm
when we dropped Grandma off. We drove around the block in Baker Acres and saw
that our old neighbor was back from Ontario for the winter so we stopped and
visited with them. On the way home we stopped to get some ice cream at Walgreen’s
as they have Blue Bell ice cream on sale. It was after 5:00 pm when we arrive home.
Let’s see it is Monday evening and you know what that means, yep Dancing with
the Stars. Once again Cheri wasn’t happy with who got voted off.

We had a light rain all
night and light showers this forenoon, not as cold probably because of the
cloud cover, 59 degrees this morning. We picked up Grandma at 8:45 am for
church. Pastor Randy had an excellent message from Romans 2:17-29. Sunday
school lesson was from Hebrews 11:1-7, Faith Defined. Once again we ended up at
ABC Pizza for their buffet. Mel and Jan came while we were eating and invited
them to sit with us for lunch. We had a wonderful visit with them and Grandma
had a lot of her friends come in for lunch, she was happy to see all of them.
It was after 1:00 pm before we got home. We watched a couple of TV shows we had
recorded until the NASCAR race started. When the race started Cheri went to the
sewing room. It was an exciting race to watch and I was disappointed that Jeff Gordon
didn’t make the cut for the final four. After the race Cheri came back to watch
some more of our shows we had recorded. Then at 8:30 pm it was time for Packer
football. They played the Bears and beat them big time 55 to 14. Don’t know how
the Packers can be so bad one week and great the next week. They did make some
changes on defense that did help some. It was after midnight when I crawled
into bed. Cheri had gone to bed earlier and I was surprised that she was still
awake when I got in bed.

Well I guess I was wrong
about my internal clock because I was up at 5:00 am again. It being Saturday we
took more time getting around facing the day. Cheri spent most of the day
working on her Christmas quilt, she got the back panel made and pinned to the
front and is now ready to do the quilting.
I worked on getting the shower doors and hardware put back together, by
mid afternoon it was officially done. We called Larry and Denise this afternoon
and the temp was 32 degrees with snow flurries. They hope to be on the road
Thursday heading down here for the winter. I had recorded the Wisconsin Badger
game and watched that late this afternoon, good game as they won. We needed to
go back to Winn Dixie’s to pick up the paper towels as they were out of them
last night. They had a good deal on them plus we get an additional 10 cents off
per gallon along with the 30 cents we already had for gas. So when we filled up
this evening we paid $2.39 for gas. Cheri had a coupon for Jersey Mike’s and
asked her if she wanted to use it for supper, she gave me a big smile so I knew
that was a yes. We do like their sandwiches but they are pricey and need a
coupon to get it for the right price.

We were up early as we had
to leave a little past 7:00 am for an appointment in Tampa. When we got to the
south side of Zephyrhills there was a bad accident with a big back up of
traffic and one lane of the road blocked. So we turned around and went a
different direction to get to Tampa. On the way home we stopped at Bob Evan’s
for lunch and got home just after noon. Cheri headed for the sewing room and me
outside to finish the painting. The painting is done and Cheri has her
Christmas tree skirt put together and now has to put the back on and quilt it.
Late afternoon we went to Winn Dixie’s for groceries, had to get a rain check
on the paper towels as they were out of them and it was a good deal because
with the purchase of them you get an extra ten cents a gallon off on gas. We
have always had wall clock in the bathroom and Cheri didn’t want the one were
using because it didn’t fit the décor that she wanted (I now have a wall clock
in my shop). So I did some internet searching and found one she liked, it has a
palm tree with a beach in the back ground and sunset. So I ordered it and
should be here next week. Because of our larger than usual lunch Cheri fixed us
a bowl of soup for supper.

I did get a good night’s
sleep and I think my internal clock has adjusted to the new time has I woke up
just before 6:00 am. Cheri did go to the pool this morning, said the water was
a little cold but managed to get her exercise done. I most always have a couple
of sausage patties for breakfast and when I get the bottom of the bag there is
most always two patties left but when there is only one left I would feel I was
cheated out of an additional patty. Well I have changed my way of thinking I
now realized I have been blessed with an additional patty, strange how we think
and look at things. Cheri did laundry and spent most of the day in the sewing room.
I continued working on my bathroom shower door and hardware painting project. I
realized that I wasn’t going to have enough paint, thought that what I got on
Tuesday would have been enough. The good thing was I got to take a motorcycle
ride to Lakeland to get the additional paint, let’s see maybe I shorted the
paint so I could do a motorcycle ride today, not really. By the end of the day
most of the painting is done, with a little luck I should be able to finish the
painting tomorrow and start the reinstall.

I put in another bad
night, slept well until 12:30 am and then not much sleep the rest of the night.
Cheri passed on the pool exercise as she was sure that the water would be too
cold. So we took our time getting around this morning. Needless to say our day
for work didn’t get started until 10:00 am. Cheri spent the morning and part of
the afternoon in her sewing room. I could hear her talking and went in to see
what the problem was and said that she wasn’t happy with a piece of material she
used for the Christmas tree skirt. I told her that I thought it looked ok. I
took out the shower doors and hardware so I could clean them up and start
painting them. After lunch Cheri volunteered for the job of cleaning the old caulking
from the shower surround where the hardware was mounted. It was really hard to
get off and I had the same problem with the hardware. I did get some of the
painting done but probably take a couple of more days to finish and get it
reinstalled.

My internal clock still
hasn’t adjusted to the new time, was up a little after 5:00 am. Cheri was back
from the pool early, said the water was too cold to do her exercise. My
wonderful wife was so kind to take Grandma for her B-12 shot so I could go for
a motorcycle ride today. It was going to be Mike, Norm and me but Mike called
me this morning and said something came up and he couldn’t go. So Norm and I
left at 9:30 am. It had warmed to 63 degrees when we left and the temp topped
out around 80 degrees, another perfect day for a ride. We rode south and east
today with a stop for lunch at a McDonalds which was a late lunch because we
were riding back roads to stay away from traffic. We did make a stop at the
Harley dealer in Lakeland. We also stopped at the Home Depot to check on the
paint I needed for the bathroom and they did have it so bought a couple extra
cans so I wouldn’t run out. On our ride we had passed a Harbor Freight store
and when we were eating lunch Norm asked me about it. He said that he hadn’t
been in one before. So on the way out of Lakeland we stopped at Harbor Freight
(my favorite store). Norm was like a little kid in a candy store, said he would
be coming back with the car so he could buy a few things. We rode 180 miles and
didn’t get home until 5:00 pm, a good day. Cheri had gone to have her hair done
today and took Grandma for her appointment. I think she spent the rest of the
day in the sewing room. We did go and vote after I got home. It was another
good day in Florida.

It was another cold breezier
40 degree morning. It did warm up to be a pretty nice day. The weather is
really crazy as it was only one degree colder in Fond du Lac Wisconsin then it
was here this morning. It was too cold to do any work outside morning so Cheri
took me shopping as I needed some new dress pants. We went to Beall’s as they
were having a sale on them, buy one at the regular price and get the second one
for one dollar. Even with the sale they still would have cost 38 dollars each
plus tax. Then we went to K-Mart which is in the process of closing and got two
pair of dress pants and one pair of jeans for 24 dollars and change plus that
included taxes. By the time we arrived home it was much warmer and was ready to
work outside. I went and picked up the security golf cart and brought it home
so I could install the new cold weather cover. That took me until 3:00 pm to
finish plus I had to go to Lowe’s to get some new nuts and bolts for it. Cheri
is busy working on her Christmas tree skirt. Next we headed out to do an early vote
but couldn’t find the place for early voting so will wait until tomorrow to
vote. We went on to Home Depot as I needed to get some more cans of spray paint
for the bathroom shower doors and surround. Well that didn’t work out either as
they were out of that color of paint and Lowe’s doesn’t carry it. We will have to check out some other Home
Depots to see if we can find it, something to do another day. Cheri was happy
with the Dancing with the Stars elimination tonight.

Will I was up an hour
earlier this morning, got the clocks setback last night but it’s not that easy
to reset my internal clock. That will take a few days. I thought it was cold
yesterday but this morning is colder. We have three outdoor thermometers; they
each had a different temp reading, 39, 41, and 45. I like the one that says 45
better. The voting phone calls are
coming, all wanting me to vote for them. I got one yesterday wanting me to vote
for the governor of Pennsylvania, wow! I didn’t know I was that important,
funny I don’t see his name on the Florida ballot. Kari, Cheri, Grandma, and I
went to church this morning. Pastor Randy had an excellent message today from
Romans 2:1-16 and Charlie had a good Sunday school lesson from Hebrews 9:11-15.
We had to leave Sunday school a bit early in order for us to have lunch and get
Kari to the airport on time. Once again we had lunch at ABC Pizza. After lunch
we dropped Grandma off and then home to change and load up Kari’s suitcase and
head for the airport. We wanted to leave a little early because you never know
what the traffic is going to be like. Well the traffic was light and no
problems we were there early. It was hard to say goodbye to Kari as we don’t
know when we will be able to see her again. No football today as the Packer’s
has a bye week, but did watch the NASCAR race and very unhappy with the way it
ended.

It really ticks me off
that I have seen Christmas advertisements before Halloween. It used to be after
Thanksgiving and now before Halloween, hard to get into the Christmas spirit
when they start so early. It was a cool 54 degrees this morning, too early to
have temps that low plus we had a strong wind that made it cold out. I did go
out to start working on my rolling lumber rack. I got the lumber out of the
shed and that was all I did, just too cold with the wind to work. I came in and
fixed myself a hot cup of apple cider. Cheri and Kari had gone shopping for
what they needed to finish the duvet cover. I did some computer work and then
settled in to watch Badger football. The game was about half over when Cheri
and Kari got home. Cheri fixed a quick lunch and then they worked on the duvet
cover. I was watching the NASCAR race and Cheri asked me to go and pick up Grandma
to have her over for supper with us. When I got back with Grandma Kari and
Cheri had the duvet cover done. I helped Kari pack it up so she could take it
with her on the plane. It cost her $28 dollars and change to send it down here
so I told her she should take it on the plane with her as it would only cost
her $25 dollars. Don’t forget to set you clocks back for standard time. I
really wish they would just leave it at daylight time.

Happy Halloween and watch
out for all the ghost and goblins. Kari had a 9:00 am client call this morning
so we wait and had a late breakfast of pancakes. In between working Cheri and
her worked on making as duvet cover from material she shipped down. It took
them most of the day to get it made and now have to go to get material and
batting to make the comforter bigger. I spent the whole day washing and waxing
the motorcycle. Something that should have been done a few rides ago. Cheri
started a turkey breast in the cockpit this morning for dinner this evening. I went
and got Grandma so she could visit and have dinner with us. Cheri also invited
Betty to come over. Cheri fixed us a very nice sit down dinner of turkey, mash potatoes,
gravy, peas, fresh baked biscuits, and ice cream for dessert. We had a nice
visit after dinner and then Betty took Grandma home for us as she lives only a
short distance from Betty. We watched some TV and called it a night.
