It wasn’t a good day in the Sharp’s house today. Cheri and I are fighting colds and today seem to be the worse day. We were very slow getting around. In fact it was after 10:00 am before I was done with my shower and then I never did get dress, just my jogging suit. In my case it would be a shuffling suit. Cheri did get a load of laundry done. We spent the rest of the morning in Bible study and then the afternoon was napping and watching TV. We did get an e-mail from Larry and Denise wanting to know if we wanted to go shopping. When Cheri turns done a chance to go shopping you know she is sick. The only time I was outside was this morning to get the newspaper.

It was a warm but pretty windy, just an enough that you needed a jacket at times. Cheri and I still down with colds and not feeling up to par. Cheri did some laundry this morning which was all she felt like doing. I picked up Grandma at 9:30 am for her doctor’s appointment. We had to wait 45 minutes before we got in. Now Grandma has to have an MRI. So we had to go to the lab for a blood draw to see if she can have the MRI. It was after noon before I got back home. We had quick lunch and then down to the Rec Hall for Bible study. There were only five of us to study Philippians chapter 3, we had a great discussion with a lot of input from everyone. I think it was the best class we have had to date. After Bible study Cheri and I went to the hospital to get an appointment for Grandma’s MRI, it was another long wait to get the appointment. From there we headed to Wal-Mart to pick up Grandma’s medicine. It was 4:00 pm and we decided to go to Panera Breads for supper, we felt like soup and sandwich would be good. When we walked in there was Mike and Pam right ahead of us. They both have colds and thought the soup and sandwich was a good idea. So we got to visit while we eat. Then we dropped off Grandma’s medicine and headed home. We were ready for an evening of recliner and TV with a blanket, looking to feel better tomorrow.

It was another overcast day with very little sunshine in fact there were a few rain showers this evening. Cheri and I spent a very quite morning. Cheri made some more baked oatmeal for breakfast. After coffee, newspaper, and computer work it was time to do our Bible study to get ready for our Bible study Class tomorrow. We are studying Philippians chapter 3. The last few days we both have been fighting colds and not feeling the best. Cheri took it easy this afternoon and I worked on Carolyn’s screen and found I needed to go over to her place to take some measurements of the screen door opening as I need to make a whole new screen. I also went to Lowe’s and picked up the additional door pulls I needed. I stopped by the carport shop and got the estimate for the carport. Then he told me the bad news that I wouldn’t be able to get a building permit because it was too close to my neighbor. So I headed home feeling bad and wondering what my next move will be. I think I might go ahead and see if something can be worked out. He did say I could add about four feet which would cost way too much for what I would gain and still wouldn’t be able to park two cars side by side. Because of our colds I called Ron and Sandy to let them know we wouldn’t be coming for the Life Group gathering.

It was warm again this morning but had overcast skies and then late morning it started raining and continued into the evening. Cheri said that she had house work to get done today and some Bible study. I headed out to Carolyn’s this morning work on the list of things she wants done. I change out the bathroom vanity lights, installed new hinges and door pulls in the bathroom cabinets, installed a new light switch in the closet and a new door latch. Check the exhaust fan in the main bathroom which will need to be replaced. On the way home I stopped at Lowe’s to get the materials I need to make a new screen for her front storm door. Cheri talked to Pam today and her and Mike are very sick with colds so when I got home Cheri headed to the grocery store to get a few things she needed to fix Mike and Pam supper. Then we drove up to their place to drop off the Chicken pot pies Cheri made.

It was 61 degrees this morning when I got up. With all the cold weather and the projects I have been doing my motorcycle riding has be neglected. So yesterday I sent an e-mail to my riding buddies to see if any of them wanted to ride today, got an e- mail back from Larry and Mike wanting to go. We left at 10:00 am and rode to Clermont by way of the back roads. We stopped for lunch at McDonald’s and then rode over to the Harley dealer to do some dreaming. I guess we didn’t have enough dreaming because we rode to Lakeland and stopped at the Harley dealer there. Mike did find a bike that he fell in love with and did some pricing on it, not sure if he will be going back to do some more dealing on it. It was near 4:00 pm and 145 miles later when we got home. Larry had put a couple of new windows in their house and still had the siding to finish and was going to do it today. So after our ride I helped him finish the project. He did a great job, looks nice. He still has some finish work to do inside. I think Cheri and Denise were happy to see us go for a motorcycle ride because that means they can go shopping all day, like it really makes any different if we go for a ride or not. We weren’t able to watch much TV this evening as I was tired from the ride and Cheri was tired from all the shopping.

Today was the nicest day we have had all winter, by 9:00 am it was already 60 plus degrees, didn’t look to see what it topped out at but most have been near 80 degrees. Grandma went to church with friends from her park so it was just Cheri and me. Pam called early this morning and said that she was sick and they wouldn’t be in church. Pastor Randy wasn’t in church today as he was with his father in North Carolina who passed very early this morning. So we had Pastor Carl for the message today. Our Sunday school lesson was from Nehemiah 10:28-39, Commit Your Way to the Lord. After church it was Mel & Jan, Cheri & me for lunch at ABC Pizza, a great place for lunch at a great price. On the way home we made a stop at Staples, Cheri has been doing some paper work for Grandma and needed a legal size document copied. Then stopped to fill the car with gas and the price is now up to $2.29. When we got home it was time for me to get comfy in my recliner to watch the Daytona 500 race. While I watched the race Cheri played solitaire on her I-Pad and took a long nap.

It was 10 degrees warmer this morning and warmed to be a very nice day to be out and about. It was a relaxing Saturday morning. I asked Cheri if she wanted to go out for breakfast and got a big smile and said of course. We went to Scotland Yards as we have been there before and is pretty good; of course it is pretty hard to ruin breakfast. When we got home I went and got the security golf cart so I could install the extra lights and wiring. I started around 11:00 am and was near 4:00 pm when I finished the job. Cheri was busy in her sewing room. The last few days she has been looking for a table runner quilt pattern that she put away and can’t find. When I came in the house she was all smiles and said that she found it. I knew she wouldn’t quit looking until she found it. She is will organized and this doesn’t happen very often, now me on the other hand it happens a lot. I cleaned up and headed to the recliner to study the Sunday school lesson only to fall asleep for an hour, probably would have slept longer but Cheri said that dinner was ready. After dinner I finished the Sunday school lesson and settled in for an evening of TV.

We had our coldest morning for the winter, 26 degrees, broke several records here in Florida. I left Cheri with her house cleaning and laundry while I went to Ron and Sandy’s to finish the electrical work that I started last week. I finished that project around noon and stopped at the place that was supposed to come and give me an estimate on the carport. This was my third trip there to see about an estimate and this time they said they would be at our place at 1:00 pm. Well he did show up and took all the measurements and we talked about what I wanted done. He told me that he would have the estimate done and prices to me by Monday. Of course I know enough not to hold my breath. When I got home Cheri said that she had been on the phone trying to get Grandma’s doctor appointments straighten out. The clinic had called with a follow up appointment when we haven’t been to the specialist that he sent us to. So after a few phone calls Cheri thinks that everything is back on course. Later we went to Lowe’s to pick up a few materials for the project I will be doing for our Life Group friend Carolyn. I want to start on the repairs Monday. I also stopped at Tractor Supply to get what I need to install the additional lights on the security golf cart. The rest of the day was spent trying to catch up on shows we have recorded on the TV.

It was 37 degrees this morning and is supposed to be much colder tomorrow. I don’t think it got out of the 50’s plus it was very winding making the cold go right though us. We had a 10:30 am appointment to meet Carolyn one of our Life Group friends at her house. She is getting ready to put her house up for sale and move to Green Bay Wisconsin to be with her son to help raise her grandson. She needs to have a few things done to the house to make it ready to sell and asked me if I would do it. She has a list of things that I need to do and wanted to show them to me. Cheri wrote down everything that she wants done. So next week I will be working to get Carolyn’s house ready for an open house on March 7. I will be a busy boy. It was almost noon when we got back home. We had lunch and headed to the Club house for our Bible study class. There were only six of us today but that didn’t stop us from having a very good lesson with input from everyone, thank you God. After Bible study we picked up Grandma and took her to Wal-Mart so she could get her hair cut. While she was getting that done we got groceries for her. By the time all was said and done it was dinner time when we got home. This evening we were invited over to Larry and Denise’s to play Hand, Knee, and Foot. It was the guy’s night to shine as we won both games. When we got home I watched the NASCAR Twin Dual Race that I had recorded, so it was a late night and didn’t get to sleep until after midnight.

It is hard to write a blog when you haven’t done anything. It was another cold day and not wanting to be out which was ok as Cheri and I continued in Bible study getting us prepared for out Bible study class tomorrow that we are leading until we can find a leader. This is something we never done before, we need prayers for us to learn what we need to teach the class. The fact is we are the ones that need to be taught. We were the ones that worked to get the class started and thought that we had a leader but had stepped down because of illness. We now have fourteen in the class and one or two more each week. I did go out to see about making arrangements to have the Security golf cart here Saturday so I can install some additional lights on it. I also resigned from the security team. I had some disappointments and thought it would be best to let someone else take my spot. This evening was our Life Group Gathering. We met Mike and Pam at Capri Pizza & More for a bit to eat before heading to our Life Group.  We look forward to being with our Christian friends and learning Gods word. Tonight’s class was on Jacob: The Deceiver God Used. We also want to wish our son in law Coz a Happy Birthday.

It was a warm morning but windy has there is a front coming through with rain and colder weather later this week. Cheri and I spent all forenoon in Bible study putting things together for our Bible study class on Thursday. I had a security meeting at 1:00 pm which lasted about an hour. Then Cheri and I made a trip to the Bank to get some information on the Homestead Act. Our next stop was the hospital to pick up Grandma’s C-san that they put on disk for us to take to her doctor. Cheri had called earlier in the day and was told it would be ready 1:30 pm, knowing how things work here in Florida we waited until 2:30 pm to pick it up and it still wasn’t ready and had to wait about ten minutes. Then we headed to the doctor’s office to pick up all the paper work that has to be filled out for Grandma’s appointment as it is a new doctor that she hasn’t seen before. Then we stopped by Grandma’s to see how she was doing. She was in good spirits and feeling good again which was good news. She gave us a list of things she needs but that will wait for another day. The rain started around 3:00 pm and came down really hard for a while and then just a steady rain that went into the night. I just checked the rain gage and we received just under an inch and a half.

It wasn’t as cold this morning in fact it was up to 62 degrees by 9:30 am. The reason I know this as I checked just before we went out the door to go to Orlando to visit friends Bruce and Jeannie Braaksma from Wisconsin. Bruce had built our new house twenty two years ago back in Friesland, Wisconsin and we have been friends ever since. They have a time share in Orland for a week. It was near 10:30 am as we approached Orlando and thought that the traffic wouldn’t be bad but I was wrong about that because the last ten miles was in stop and go traffic on I-4. I think we have had stop and go traffic every time we have been there. We had a wonderful visit catching up from the last year when they were here. They took us out for dinner at the Barbeque Pit which was pretty good. Then back to their place for more visiting. We waited until 8:00 pm to leave, figured the traffic wouldn’t be a problem at the time of the evening. Yep wrong again, we had stop and go traffic for about four miles. All in all it was a wonderful day to spend with friends.

I got an e-mail from Grandma around 5:00 am this morning telling me that she was sick and wouldn’t be going to church today. Pam came to church without Mike, Pam said that his neck and shoulder was bothering him and didn’t feel good. Pastor Randy had a good message: What Does It Mean to Be Holy from Ephesians 1:4 and Peter 1:15-16. In Sunday school we studied Nehemiah 9:32-37 return to the Restoring God. After Sunday school we had pot luck (Linger Longer) of soup, salad, and dessert. It was all very good and we got a chance to meet some more of our Sunday school group. On the way home we stopped by Grandma’s to see how she was doing, said that she was sick to her stomach and hurt all over, think maybe she has the flu. It was after 2:30 pm when we got home I told Cheri I was exhausted and didn’t want to do anything. She said that she was tired too. We both took naps in our recliners while trying to watch TV. It was cold again this morning the ground was white with frost.

Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone. It was a special day for Cheri and me as 48 years ago today I asked Cheri to marry me. So this was the day we got engaged. It was also a busy day. I copied all the tax papers and got them in the mail to our accountant. Then we went for haircuts. I had to make a stop at Lowe’s to pick up some new filters for our drinking water. Then a stop at Wal-Mart to pick out our valentine cards for each other, after reading them we put them back on the rack and then bought a few groceries we needed. Then it was home for a quick lunch and to put away the groceries. Then we went to Home Depot to look at and price counter tops for the cabinets that we are looking at. While we were there we also looked at back splashes and flooring. After all of this it was 3:00 pm and I wanted to take Cheri out for dinner to celebrate our engagement. Looking for something different and nice we chose the Black Stone here in Zephyrhills. Cheri called for reservations and they told her they weren’t accepting anymore but told us that if we came right away we could get in. So by 3:30 we were ordering our dinner. It all turned out to be a big disappointment, we both had rib eye steak along with the salad bar, the salad bar was ok but the steak was really bad, tough and no flavor and pricey. From there we went to the Lakeland mall as I wanted to buy Cheri a dancing necklace for our special day. We did find one that Cheri liked and one that would fit my budget. We were back home by 6:30 pm and time for me to get ready to watch the first race of the NASCAR season. Oh yes it was a cold day, was in the low 30’s this morning and did get up to 62.

Wow Friday the thirteenth supposes we should be extra careful today. Well there was no time to worry about that was a busy day for both of us. Cheri did house work, laundry and finished the taxes. I went Ron and Sandy’s to work on their electrical problem they have in the house. I was there a while back and found the area where the problem was. Today I work on it and trace the problem to some old wiring that was in the patio ceiling. It took me from 9:30 am until 3:00 pm to get everything working again. I still have to go back to cut in an electrical box and rewire a wall fan that wasn’t in stalled correctly plus put the rest of the ceiling back up in the patio. I guess between two and three hours to finish the project. I had to quit early has Mike and Pam were picking us up at 4:15 pm to go out for dinner and then to Haines City to hear The Chosen Ones. They are a traveling gospel singing group. Mike and Pam are friends of theirs as they came from the same area where they lived in Illinois. We got to talk with them after wards to hear some of their stories. We all came away filled with the spirit of God. What a wonderful way to spend the evening hearing great gospel music and being with close friends.

We are back to the cold weather again, 37 degrees this morning. The sun did come out and warm things up to 70 degrees before the day was over. Cheri was out and about this morning, had a list of things she needed to do. I stayed home, inside where it was warm which was ok has I needed to do Bible study this forenoon to get ready for our 1:00 pm Bible study class here in the park. We are in need of a Bible study leader. Cheri and I are trying to take the lead until someone steps up to lead our group. Maybe this is Gods way of calling us to lead but I know there is someone out there that could do a much better job. We have one more couple that is going to join us next week. The rest of the afternoon was doing computer work, getting our appointment list up to date and sending out e-mails to the Bible study group. We finally got the last piece of information we needed for our income tax, hope to get that in the mail this week. This evening we had Larry and Denise over to play cards. It has been over a week since we last saw them as they also had company. We played Hand, knee, and foot which the girls won one game and we guys won one. We also played one game of Skip-Bo which Larry and I won

Katherine made us baked oatmeal for breakfast this morning, something we haven’t had before. It was very good and will be having it again tomorrow as we had some left over. Cheri has the recipe so we can have it again sometime. Bro and Katherine left around 10:00 am, sure hated to see them leave so soon. We had a wonderful three days with them, three days of fun and laughter. At 11:00 am Cheri and I headed to Tampa to get some pricing on kitchen cabinets at Direct Buy. They will send us the quote by e-mail. We also looked at flooring while we were there. Stopped on the way home to fill the car with gas, it has gone up over 30 cents in less than a week. All it takes is someone to have a hiccup and the price jumps up. We had to be home before 3:00 pm because the guy was coming to give us an estimate on the extension for the carport. Well once again no one showed up and no call from them, just another normal Florida disappointment. No matter who you talk to they all tell me that it is hard to get a contractor to come and give you an estimate. Tonight was supposed to be our Life Group gathering but was canceled because most of our group wasn’t going to be able to make it. So Cheri and I had a relaxing evening watching TV.

Cheri fixed us eggs and sausage wheels for breakfast along with juice and coffee. We lingered for a while this morning enjoying our company. Then it was time to get ready for the Zephyrhills flea market. When we got there Cheri and Katherine went one way and Bro and I another. Not sure how it happened but we all came out at the end at the same time. We also got to see Mike and Pam there. When we got back to the house I showed Bro what I want to do to the carport, showed him carport down the street that was extended a couple of weeks ago. Back to the house for lunch, then Cheri and Katherine headed to Beall’s to shop. Bro and I went to Lakeland to shop at Harbor Freight when I got a call that the quote for the kitchen cabinets was done so we headed to Home Depot to pick it up. Then we stopped at the place that was supposed to come and give me an estimate on the carport. They told me that they would be here tomorrow at 3:00 pm. After all this was done it was time to meet Cheri and Katherine back at the house as Cheri had already picked up Grandma so we could go to Lakeland for dinner at Harry’s. It has been a long time since we have been there. We had gone there last year with Katherine and Bro and they wanted to go there again. I had forgotten how good the food was. On the way home we dropped Grandma off at her place and then home for a little TV and the called it night. We are so blessed to great friends.

Bro, Katherine, Cheri, and I headed out at 8:00 am to Webster for the big flea market. Bro and Katherine don’t have flea markets up north like what we have here and they like going. Our first stop was McDonalds’ for a breakfast sandwich, coffee, and orange juice. We needed to be there early because we had to be back to take Grandma for her B-12 shot at 1:00 pm. Then we all went to ABC Pizza for a late lunch. Then back to our place for visiting and cards. After three games of SOB it was time to fire up the grill for some brats. Cheri had all the fixing to make a potato salad to go along with the brats.  At 8:00 pm I took Grandma home and then back home for an evening of TV. It started raining at noon today and rained into the evening. I checked the rain gage when I was grilling the brats and we had received almost an inch and a half. It was another wonderful day of friendships and laughs, something we always have with Katherine and Bro.

It was cool this morning but by the time we got to church I took my jacket off and didn’t need it the rest of the day. We picked Grandma up at 8:45 am to go to church with us. The choir was all men this morning and they were very good. Pastor Randy had a very good message which was from the book of Exodus and Sunday school class was from Nehemiah 8:1-12. We didn’t go out for lunch with anyone today as we had company coming early afternoon and needed to be back home. So we brought Grandma to our place for lunch. Later Bro and Katherine, long time friends from Wisconsin arrived. We had a great visit with lots of jokes and laughs. Cheri fixed the Lasagna she had put together yesterday along with garlic toast and fresh baked chocolate chip cookies, love it when we get company because Cheri goes all out cooking. We played SOB which Grandma won. Then it was time to take her home. When I got back we played one game of Skip Boo which I won. It was around 11:30 pm and time to call it a night. A great day God made for us to laugh and share his word.

Our cool morning turned out to be a beautiful day with a lot of sunshine with the temp in the low 70’s. Cheri was busy fixing a meal of Lasagna to have tomorrow when our company from Wisconsin gets here. I worked out in the shop cleaning things up and putting away a bunch of totes that Mike and Mary returned. I even took time to weed the flower beds. I wasn’t in the mood to do much because I knew we would be going back to the Alaskan rally this afternoon to do more visiting. Spike the caravan owner had a wonderful dinner of chicken and barbeque ribs for us. After dinner he had a magician do his show which was very good. Then Spike did some give a ways and then told us that he was not having three tours anymore, only two and they would be three days longer making for a 37 day tour. This was the year we were supposed to tail gun again. We feel really bad that we can’t do it as life hands us different changes. Before we knew it was time to say our goodbyes with plans for next years rally.

It seems like I move a little slower in the morning, think old age is catching up with me or I hope it is just the weather. While we were drinking coffee this morning I asked Cheri what she was going to do today and she said that she had a few thing to get done for the company we have coming. Then she asked me what I was going to do, the best thing I could think of was to stay out of her way. After a slow start, coffee, breakfast, news, exercise, and shower it was already 10:00 am. So I spent the rest of the morning and part of the afternoon in Bible study getting ready for Sunday school and our Thursday Bible study. Late afternoon we got a call from Larry and Denise wanting to come and get the rug shampooer and were checking to see if we were home. Pretty soon Larry showed up on the motorcycle and we wondered how he was going to haul the shampooer on the motorcycle. Well it turned out that they lock their keys in the house and the only thing they had was a key for the motorcycle. We had a set of their keys here to use to check their house when they are up North for the summer. So Larry took the keys went home and got in and got the keys for the truck to come and get the shampooer. Late afternoon we headed down to Lazy Days for our Alaskan rally. It was fun getting together with the friends we make on the two trips to Alaska. Cheri got to show some of her quits that she made over the last year. We get to go back tomorrow evening for more visiting and good food.

I checked the rain gage and we received 3” of rain though the night and this forenoon. Not wanting to be out and about because of the weather Cheri and I worked on our lesson for the Bible study class this afternoon. Then we watched a Dr. Larry Ollison video titled What Happens When You Die. It was very good and then we watched a Tony Evans video titled What Happens When You Die. Dr Ollison’s was ten times better than Tony Evans. I must say though that we are studying a book of Tony Evans in our Life Group and it is very good. Our Bible study class was at 1:00 pm and had a small turn out as most of our group was out of town but that didn’t stop us from having a great discussion in the first chapter of Philippians. After Bible study Cheri and I went to get groceries. I didn’t think we bought that much but still cost us $145. It has been a while since we have had an evening to ourselves and felt really good, an evening of catching up on some of our recorded shows.

If you are interested in watching any of Dr. Larry Ollison's videos you can find them at this link: https://www.youtube.com/user/drlarryollison

I was going to sleep in this morning then I remembered that I didn’t set the recyclables out last night and they always come around 6:30 am. So I got up at my usual time and got the recyclables set out, wouldn’t you know it they didn’t come until round 10:00 am. It was on the cold side again this morning and the weather report said rain and then turning colder. I had wanted to wash the car inside and out today. Around 11:00 am the sun came out and had warmed up enough that I did wash and detailed the car. It was a bigger job than I thought it would be. It was late afternoon when I got done. Cheri did what Cheri usually does on Wednesday, vacuuming and dusting, and Bible study for our Life Group this evening. We met Mike and Pam at Walgreens at 5:15 pm and rode with them to Wendy’s where we met Ron and Sandy for supper and a visit before going to Ron and Sandy’s for our Life Group gathering. It was another great evening with Life Group friends and learning Gods word. Our lesson this evening was about Rahab. We never did get the rain today but I did wake up around 1:00 am and it was raining pretty hard.

It was another 40 degree morning and then warmed slowly to around 64 degrees and was windy. I had to get around early again this morning as I had to pick Grandma up at 8:45 am for her out patient C-scan for her sinuses that she is having a problem with. Then it was a trip to the other end of the hospital for her bone density test. After all was said and done it was around 11:30 am when I got home. I had gotten a call from Ron this morning and was telling me they have an electrical problem. The electrical breaker for their sunroom and patio had tripped and not able to reset it. Ron thought it might be a weak breaker, so I took my collection of breakers and went to check out their problem. Well the problem wasn’t the breaker, after doing some isolation I found the problem is in the wiring on the patio. I disconnected the wiring to the patio so they could have power in the sunroom. I didn’t have time to dig into the problem and will go back next week to fix it. On the way home I stopped by Larry and Denise’s to see it they got the concrete for their driveway and patio poured. It was all done and the forms had been removed, looks really good, wish I would have had them do mine as it turned out pretty bad. When I got home I had an hour to rest before going to church for men’s night out. Cheri did her usual Tuesday house work and some more work on taxes as we got some of what we needed in the mail today. She also spent time reading and watching TV.

I was up a little earlier today as I had to have Grandma to the doctor’s office by 8:50 am for her fasting lab. So I didn’t get my exercise done until I got back home. We did some more work on taxes and still need a few things to come before we can finish them. When I was putting up the wall in the sunroom I knocked Cheri’s porcelain pelican off the cabinet and broke it. I felt really bad because I know Cheri really liked the pelican. So today I got out the glue and put Mr. Pelican back together again. This afternoon we went to Wesley Chapel to see the movie Black and White. It is a must see movie. It was pretty warm this morning and then by noon we got rain and the temp started going south for the rest of the day. I thought we might get a call from Home Depot on the kitchen cabinets or a call from the guy to give us an estimate on the carport, but nothing. That’s one thing I have found out about being in Florida people will make appointments with you and never show up and they don’t even call to tell you they can’t make it. Then I feel it time to look for another vendor but the same thing happens all over again.
Poor Mr. Pelican

Happy Mr. Pelican

Hard to believe we are in February already. Not sure where January went so fast. We picked up Grandma and took her to church with us. I had e-mailed Pastor Randy for his message notes and got a return e-mail telling me he was out of town spending today with his daughter who had a baby on Saturday. So Pastor Carl was going to deliver the message. Pastor Randy said that he would get in touch with Pastor Carl to see if he had message notes that Grandma could have to read. Well we didn’t get and answer from Pastor Carl. So it was a hard day for Grandma. The message was hard to follow and Cheri couldn’t really write anything for Grandma. Sunday school was really good, studied Nehemiah 7:1-8. It was just Grandma, Cheri and me for lunch today. So we thought that as long as it was just the three of us we would try to get into ABC Pizza for lunch. We did get the last booth so that was good that we didn’t have to wait. After we dropped Grandma off at home we went to Wal-Mart to get Grandma’s groceries and medicine. Being Sunday Wal-Mart was really busy. After all was said and done it was around 2:30 pm when we arrived home. I tried to do some Bible study but was tired and ended up taking a nap. Cheri was reading and playing on her I-Pad. After my nap we watched some TV and then got ready to watch the Super Bowl. Which I thought was a big disappointment; even the advertisement wasn’t that good. I didn’t care for the half time music but thought the lighting effects were great.

Cheri and I spent the morning with Bible study. We had our Sunday school lesson to go over, worked on our Life Group daily lesson, and did some reading and internet searching for our Thursday Bible Study Group. At 12:30 pm we picked up Larry and Denise and headed to Dade City for the Kumquat Festival. It is a one day event that draws over 40,000 people. This year it seemed like there were over 50,000. There are vendors lined up on all the streets downtown, if I was to guess there were somewhere around 300 selling anything and everything. Cheri and Denise shopped the vendors and Larry and I went to the car show. There had to be over 200 cars for the show. When we were done with the car show we sat by the court house and listened to a band play, it mainly to sit and rest while the girls were shopping. There were several bands playing in different areas. On the way home we stopped at a couple of second hand stores. Denise was looking for some special glasses for smoothies. She did find one glass and a quilt rack she bought. We went to Sonny’s Barbeque for supper and then back to Larry and Denise’s to play one game of cards. It was a great day spending time with God and friends.
