I am still having some shingle pain but not bad enough that I can’t work. I had a 9:30 am appointment to install a couple of ceiling fans in an old double wide house. Installing ceiling fans in these houses are always a challenge. Things did go well and was back home by 3:00 pm. After a hot shower I headed for the recliner as I am still low on energy. Cheri was busy with her Wednesday house work. She put in a bad night and need some additional rest today. We had some Wawa chicken noodle soup for supper and later we had some strawberries while watching TV. We were supposed to get a lot of rain this evening but turned out to be only small shower. A guy stopped over this evening to talk to me about an electrical problem he is having and wants me to check it out tomorrow afternoon. Thank you God for guiding us through another day.

We had an appointment in
Dade City at 9:45 am to have our taxes done, glad to have that done. I had
gotten a call last night from a lady here in the park that wants some work done
in her bathroom. So after we got home from our taxes I went to check it out.
She wants the tub removed and a shower stall put in. Now I have to get some
prices on materials and then get back with her. After lunch we headed to
Brandon in the rain to see the movie “Run the Race”. It is a Christian movie which
was pretty good but thought it could have been better. I would give it a three
and half stars out of five. It was near 5:00 pm when we got home and still
raining. We had left over lasagna for supper and later in the evening we had
strawberry short cake. It was a normal evening of TV. I checked the rain gauge
and we received ¾ inch. Thank you God for blessed day.

Cheri was busy with
getting the spare bedroom ready for our next that are coming this weekend from
Wisconsin. She also did work in her sewing room. I had a power washing job this
morning. I wasn’t going to do any more power washing but this was for an elderly
lady here in the park at I have done a lot of work for. From start to finish it
took me three hours. When I got home I was wet and ready for a hot shower.
Cheri and I went out for lunch at Culver’s. When we got home Cheri continued
with her house work and I scanned some tax documents that we received in the
mail for Darren. Darren has them sent here because it can take up to a month or
two to get mail to him. So after scanning those in I sent an attachment of the
tax papers in an e- mail to him. Also busy getting all of our tax papers ready
as we have an appointment tomorrow to get ours done. We brought a half flat of strawberries
so we could have some strawberry short cake. Which turned out to be our supper
as we were still full from our lunch. It was a normal evening of TV. Thank you
God for guiding us through another day.

Still some resulting shingle
pain but a little less each day now. We had a visit with Bruce and Jeannie this
morning before we left for church. They also left for Orlando where they have a
time share they will be staying at. Grandma went to church with us this
morning, sure was good to get back to church and Sunday school. After Sunday
school we went over to the Fellowship Hall where our Sunday school class had
our Linger Longer which is just another name for a potluck lunch and more time
for visiting. After we dropped Grandma off we went over to Wal-Mart to get
Grandma’s groceries. I also washed out her furnace filter. It was around 2:30
pm by the time we got home. About 3:00 pm our next door neighbor Jean along
with her family came over to see all of Cheri quilting projects. I settled in
to watch the NASCR race. After the race Cheri fixed us the usual Sunday night
pizza and then watched a few TV shows before calling it a night. Thank you God
for a blessed day to spend with friends.

It was another feel good
day, just a nagging shingle pain. We took Bruce and Jeannie to Hole in One
donut shop this morning, had a good visit while enjoying the breakfast
sandwich, donuts, and coffee. Cheri and Jeannie went shopping and Bruce and I went
out to the airport to watch the sky divers. There were a lot going on at Dive
City and got to see a lot of sky diver. It was after 1:00 pm when Bruce and I
got home. We had a late lunch and another good visit around the kitchen table.
Later we settled in to watch the movie Unbroken and then after a supper of
homemade lasagna we watched the movie Unbroken Path to Redemption, both really
good movies. It was a blessed day that God made for us.

It was another good day
with less shingle pain. I was out the door at 6:10 am headed to Dade City for
my accountability group breakfast and Bible. We studied Hebrews chapter 8 this
morning. The vertical blinds Cheri order a month ago came yesterday. So today
you could say I was a blind man. It did take a while for Cheri and me to get
the old ones down and new ones installed. This evening Cheri noticed I hung all
the panels wrong so now I will have to take all 33 panels down and turn them
180 degrees and reinstall them. Our company Bruce and Jeannie arrived from
Wisconsin around 2:00 pm and will spend a couple of days with us. We took them
out to Sunrise Eatery for supper. We had called for a number so we wouldn’t
have to wait to get in. Well when we got there they could find our number on
their list and then found out someone else had used our number so we had to
wait for over half an hour to get seated. When we got home we visited for a
while and watched a movie before calling it a night. Thank you God for a
blessed day and time with Bruce and Jeannie.

I felt the best today than
I have for four weeks. I still have some shingle pain but not as bad. I had a dermatology
appointment this morning at the VA in Tampa. Just a normal check up with no
problems. On the way home I stopped to check out another job of sheetrock
repair and some flooring repair. Cheri was busy with the laundry and ironing
and then worked on a quilt project in her sewing room. Cheri discovered a water
leak around the guest bathroom toilet. It looked like it was coming from the
where the fill pipe goes into the tank. So I tighten it up and still had the
leak. Thought it was funny that it would be leaking there but went to Lowe’s
and got a new fill unit and installed it and still had the leak. Well it turned
out to be a broken bolt that holds the tank to the bowl. Long story short I
went back to Lowe’s and got a new high rise toilet that Cheri has wanted for a
long time. After that I was done for the day. Our supper was a repeat of last
night with left over beans and shrimp. It was a normal evening of TV. Thank you
God for another great day.

I felt much better this
morning and the shingle pain is getting a little less each day now. I tried the
water soaked chair rail to see if it would bend without breaking but it didn’t
work, so it’s back to the drawing board to see what I can do next. I had an
appointment to install a new washer and dryer this morning. I had to make a
trip to Lowe’s to get a new dryer vent. One of the supply lines was still
hooked to the water shut off. After trying to get it off I could see why it was
still attached. I had to use my Dermal to cut the connection and pry it off the
shutoff valve. When I got done with that I checked out the shed light as it
wasn’t working. So I went home and got a new light bulb and found that the
problem was the light switch. After changing the switch everything work ok. I
was back home by noon for lunch. Pam had made a cherry cobbler that Mike
brought over to us. We had some for our lunch and was still warm from the oven.
It was excellent, thanks Pam for making it for us. After lunch I sat down and
napped for an hour before taking the car and truck through the car wash. Cheri
had a dental appointment this morning as she broke part of a crown and now will
have to have it replaced, she not a happy camper. Cheri and I spent the rest of
the afternoon napping and watching TV. Cheri fixed a new recipe for shrimp that
was excellent along with some baked green beans. We also had more of Pam’s
cherry cobbler for dessert. It was a normal evening of TV. Thank you God for a
blessed day.

I got up this morning
exhausted, tired, and no energy. Normally I feel pretty good in the morning but
not today. I am still dealing with the shingles pain but not as bad. I didn’t
have any work away from home today so I did go out and worked on the shelf that
I am building for Donna. I run into a problem with bending the chair rail
around a curve. So I have put a piece of the chair rail in a pan of water to
soak and tomorrow I will see if it is pliable enough to bend it without
breaking. When I came in the house Cheri was visiting with our neighbor Jean. I
said I was done for the day and headed for the recliner. After Jean left Cheri
fixed us a sandwich for lunch along with a chocolate chip cookie. Then I got a
call from a party here in the park that has an electrical problem with several
light and outlets that aren’t working and wanted me check it out. When I got there
I checked the breakers and they were ok and had power on the outgoing side. After
doing a lot of checking I found an outlet under the house that was below where
the hot water heater set and had leaked into the outlet and corroded the wiring
until burned apart. After a trip to Lowe’s and three hours later everything was
back together and working. It was near 4:00 pm when I got home and ready for a
hot shower. Cheri was busy with her normal Tuesday house work and also got all
the valentine decorations put away and got out the St. Patrick’s Day
decorations. Thank you God for guiding us through another day.

I am feeling better than
yesterday but still have pain. I did have a 9:30 am appointment over in Tampa
Bay country to install a couple of bathroom faucets. It was near 1:00 pm when I
got home. I was tired and out of energy. Cheri had been grocery shopping and a
few other things she wanted to get done while she was out and about. She
brought home Italian subs from Publix’s for lunch which were pretty good. I
spent the rest of the day in the recliner watching TV and napping. Cheri also
made chocolate chip cookies this afternoon. Later in the afternoon she also
rested and read her novel. Cheri fixed us egg-sausage-cheese biscuits for supper.
It was just a normal evening watching TV. Thank you God for a blessed day.

The shingle pain is the
same today as yesterday. I got up this morning feeling lite headed and poor
balance and really tired. So no church for me again this Sunday. After a little
breakfast and some coffee I headed to the recliner where I napped until noon.
Finally got myself into the shower to get cleaned up for the day. Cheri made a
trip to Wal-Mart and then rested in her recliner reading, napping, and watching
TV. NASCAR racing is back and I watched the Daytona 500 which tuned out to be an
exciting race. We had our usual pizza for supper and then watched some old episodes
of Law and Order.

The shingle pain hasn’t
decreased any in the last couple of days. It more manageable but still constant.
We did go out to the Hole in One donut shop for our usual Saturday morning breakfast.
I still brought my cinnamon roll home as it was more than I could eat this
morning. Yesterday I made an appointment for today to install a new microwave
as the people have been waiting for a couple of weeks for me to do it. I
started at 10:00 am and was done by noon. I thought I could also do a bathroom faucet
replacement but was too tired and not enough energy to do it. So I headed home
where Cheri has soup ready for lunch. I spent the afternoon in the recliner.
Cheri worked in her sewing room on a new quilt project. This evening we were
invited over to the neighbor’s (Mike and Kathy’s) to play Phase Ten which Cheri
won. We had a good time but I needed to get back home early as I wasn’t feeling
good. Thank You God for taking care of us today.

I felt a little better
this morning and decided I could go for my accountability group breakfast and
Bible study. Well after I got in the car and drove a ways I realized that it
wasn’t a good idea as I had a lot of pain from the bumps in the road. I did
suffer through the drive and enjoyed my time with the guys. I was going to do
some work today but after the trip to Dade City and back I decided I wasn’t
able to do any work. This morning I didn’t have any internet service on the
computer. Everything else was working ok and was just the computer. I tried
everything I know but nothing worked. I put in a call to Darren to see if he
could help me. Late this afternoon I got a call from him as he was just getting
home from a business trip. It wasn’t long and he had me up and running again. Cheri
was busy with laundry and ironing today. She also spent time reading her novel.
This evening Larry and Denise came over to play Hand, Knee, and Foot. One game
was all I could handle which Larry and I won. As for the shingles the pain is a
little less each day, think it will be a few more days before I can get back to
a full work load. Thank you God for being with us today.

I want to wish all a very
happy Valentine’s Day. 52 years ago today I asked Cheri to marry me. I am
feeling better today with less pain. It wasn’t the kind of Valentine’s Day I
had planned. Normally we go out for dinner to celebrate our engagement. Even
though I felt better today I wasn’t ready to be out much. I did manage to go
for a haircut and then to check out another work project here in the park. The
rest of my day was spent in the recliner, too weak to do anything else. Cheri
got a chance to go out for lunch with some of the ladies from our Sunday school
class and then to do some shopping. We had leftover lasagna for supper and then
another evening of TV, more for me than Cheri as I was watching NASCAR racing
while Cheri read. Thank God for a blessed day and getting me to feel better.
Sorry my internet was down all day.

It was a cold, damp, and
rainy day. The temp was 60 degrees when I got up this morning but that was the
high for the day. I do believe I can see some improvement in my pain today. I
had to once again quit taking the pain pill has it was making my throat so dry
which made me do more coughing. With the pain in my side, back, and stomach
coughing is not a good thing. Around 4:00 am we heard a loud bang on the roof
which seem to shake the whole house. It sounded like it was a really big limb
that fell from the tree by the house. This afternoon I went out to see and it
wasn’t a very big limb. It sound ten time bigger than it was. I was able to
take a rake and pull it off the roof as it was half on and half off. That was
my excitement for the day. Cheri continues to take care of me. It was another
day of TV with nothing to watch. We did stream a couple of movies that was fair
but slow moving. Thank you God for getting us through another day.

I didn’t feel as good as
yesterday but the pain level is about the same. I guess it is just the depression
that I am feeling. I so much want to get back to work. Cheri got her Tuesday
house work done and then went over to Jean’s for a visit (something they do
every Tuesday). Cheri made us lasagna for supper which was very good. Can’t
find anything on TV to watch so we streamed a couple of shows off of Amazon. We
did find a series on Amazon called Deadwood but after we started watching it
the language was so bad we stopped watching it. We also watched a few old Law
and Order shows. Thank you God for guiding us through another day.

I took a pain pill last
night and got a good night’s sleep and felt better this morning as the pain
level lower. I got a call this morning form a party here in the park that wants
some drywall work done. So feeling better I went over to check out the job. I
told them I couldn’t do it for several weeks which was ok for them as they were
going back north. I was back home by 10:00 am. By noon the pain level was back
where it was yesterday. Cheri took Grandma for her doctor’s appointment which
is always an early one but don’t get to see the doctor until near noon. Cheri
comes home upset and frustrated from having to wait for so long to see the
doctor. We spent the afternoon watching TV. Cheri fixed us spaghetti with some
of the spaghetti sauce that Larry and Denise brought over. I took another pain
pill this evening and now see how that goes for the night. Thank you God for
guiding us through another day.

No improvement today still
have plenty of pain to go around. I hated to miss church and Sunday school
again this week. This afternoon Larry and Denise came over for a short visit,
was nice to see them. So it was just another day of pain and watching TV along
with some napping. Cheri continues to take good care of me.

Cheri said that I would
feel better this morning if I got out and about. She wanted to go to Hole in
One donut shop for our usual Saturday morning breakfast. After one bite of a
donut, two bites of a breakfast sandwich and a couple of sips of coffee I was
done. Nothing tasted good to me. So much for being out and about. The pain
level is still on the high side and no energy. Cheri did go shopping today as
she had a list of things she wanted to check out. NASCAR season is here and
started today with some testing which I watched. There is a lot of changes in
the rules and driver changes. Looking forward to have a better day tomorrow.
Thank you God for blessed day.

The only different was
today I had more pain. I was much more depressed as I thought I would be
turning the corner and start having better days. Cheri continues to take good
care of me. I really wanted to go for my accountability group breakfast and
Bible study but just didn’t have it me to go. Today was the day I was supposed
to have my cataract eye surgery which I postponed to future time when I am
feeling better. Cheri was busy with
getting groceries for Grandma.

Today was a rerun of
yesterday not feeling any better. Although I did go outside long enough to fill
the bird feeders. Cheri keeps busy taking care of me along with her normal
house work. I have had to cancel work projects that was supposed to be done
this week. People I have called have been very nice and said that they would
wait until I got well. God be with us and help us get back to good health.

Well I am up and around
this morning, feeling a little better than yesterday. My sore throat is much
better. I still don’t have any energy. As for the shingles I am still in a lot
of pain. Each day I look for things to be better with less pain but it doesn’t
happen. I have been very weak and haven’t been outside since last Friday. I did
try to work on the taxes today but things didn’t go well so I gave up on that
project and headed for the recliner where I spent the rest of the day. Cheri
has been taking really good care of me. This evening she went out to Calver’s
to get us a kids meal for supper. Thank you God for guiding us through another
day.

Just an update. I have a
really bad case of the shingles and now a bad cold to go with the shingles. I
had to stop the shingles pain medication because it caused me to have a dry
mouth which wasn’t good for the sore throat. I have lost my voice and doing a
lot of coughing. It may be awhile before I get back to the blog.

This morning wasn’t as
bad, low in the low 50’s and a high around 73 degrees. I actually got a pretty
good night sleeps. I still have a lot of pain but not as severe as yesterday. I
did go for my accountability group breakfast and Bible study. I wasn’t going to
do anything today but decided to go out and work on Donna’s TV shelf. I think
that was better as I keep my mind off of the pain I had. As it turned out I got
the shelf done and Cheri went with me to help install it. I still have to go
back to fill some nail holes and touch up painting. Donna was happy to have it
done because her daughter is coming on Saturday. Cheri went for a haircut this
morning and also had laundry going. The rest of the day she spent on getting
things ready for taxes. It was 4:30 pm when I got home from Donna’s. I headed
for the shower and wanted to be done for the day. But I had promised to take
Cheri out for a Friday night fish fry. We had heard that Calver’s had good
fish, not a place you would normally go for a fish fry but it was very good.
While we were waiting for our fish Skip and Joy came in. So they sat with us and
had a good time visiting. It was 7:00 pm before we got home. It was a normal
evening of TV. Thank you God for helping us through another day.

I had a pretty good night
with all the drugs that helped reduce the pain. I got a call from Donna wanting
to know if I could get her TV shelf made and installed by Friday. I do have it
started but with the pain I don’t think I can get it done. I had a coupon from
Lowe’s that I needed to use today. So I headed out with the wind blowing with
and a temp of 41 degrees. After Lowe’s I went to Harbor Freight to get some
extended drill bits for an upcoming job. When I got home I told Cheri I was
hurting and wasn’t going to do any work. The drugs where making me tired and
decided to spend the rest of the day in the recliner napping and watching a
little TV. Cheri was busy with laundry and house cleaning for upcoming company,
plus waiting on me. She fixed scalped potatoes and ham for supper. Thank you Nurse
Cheri for taking care of me. Thank you God for a blessed day.
