First I want to wish our
daughter Nikki a happy birthday. I had an 8:00 am appointment to have the new crown
installed. I was back home within the hour. Cheri was still sick and light
headed this morning and lasted all day. I thought she would be better today
because she hasn’t had any pain pills. Only had a couple of Tylenols. Another
couple from church brought us soup, apple sauce, and jello. Cheri did have a
couple cup containers of pudding and eat some spaghetti for supper. So it looks
like maybe her appetite is starting to come back. I worked outside on my
fencing project. I did get the pipe rack rebuilt and all the lumber back in
where is supposed to be. Now have room to get the car all the way under the
carport. I told Cheri if she needed me all she had to do was call me. Only
called me once to let me know friends were bring over some food for us. I kept
Cheri on the ice machine and leg wraps all day. Pray that she has a better day
tomorrow to remove the light headiness and the upset stomach. This evening we
called Nikki to wish her a happy birthday. Cheri didn’t feel like talking but
wanted to let her know we were thinking of her. Thank you God for helping us
through this day.

Dennis and I have our walk
figured out so we meet each other at 5:00 am, I leave the house at 4:47 am. Cheri
is still sick and light headed today. She had a doctor’s appointment at 1:00 pm
here in Zephyrhills. The bleeding has stopped which is good news. The doctor
said that she had a little more movement in her knee. I think she will be able
to start rehab next week although the doctor wants to see her again on Monday
to make sure she is ready for the rehab. I got her home into her recliner and
hooked up to the ice machine and her leg wraps on. I did a couple loads of laundry
this afternoon. The last pain pill Cheri had was this morning a 6:00 am. We are
going try and have her take Tylenol to control the pain. Want to see if getting
off the pain meds will get her over being sick and light headed. I made a trip
to the grocery store to get her some pudding and soup along with more ice.
Cheri slept most of the day except for the time to the doctor. This evening she
did eat some pudding and a little bit of spaghetti and took her evening pills
and a couple Tylenol. I got her into bed around 8:00 pm. I was tired and went
to bed a little after 9:00 pm. Thank you God for stopping the bleeding on Cheri
and helping us through the day.

The only time I was outside
today was for my morning walk. I was going to do some work on the fence today
until I heard the weather report for the day, 90 degrees and high humidity. I
decided I didn’t need to be out in the heat. It was just as well as I was exhausted
all day. Cheri was better today, still a lot of pain and wasn’t sick but still
had an uneasy stomach. Today I gave her Tramadol which I think works better for
her but not as strong as the oxycodone. Cricket bought over pork chops, mashed potatoes,
gravy, and carrots for our supper. Cheri didn’t have any as she didn’t think
her stomach was ready for anything like that. I finally got to watch the NASCAR
race that had been rain delays for the last three days. Cheri did a lot of
napping and I did some reading and napping. Later this evening we did watch some
TV. Thank you God for helping us through this day.
Gay Oct-27-20

Cheri had a better day than
she did yesterday but still not a good day. This morning I was able to get her
to eat a scrambled egg and some bacon. She was light headed all day. Around
4:00 pm I got her to eat something to settle her stomach before giving her any
meds. I waited a half hour and she seemed to be doing ok so I gave her the
meds. Well half hour later she was sick. I had a doctor’s appointment at Tampa
VA and had our neighbor Jean come over and set with Cheri while I was gone. Jean
said that she slept a lot, that’s what she does because the meds maker drowsy.
She is still bleeding but think it is getting better. Going to the doctor and
taking care of Cheri is all I got done today, when I did sit down I would nap.
Thank you God for being with us today.

I am a little slow getting
this done this morning. I had a good walk with Dennis and we continue solving
the world problems. Cheri was sick all day and was throwing up this morning. I
blame myself for it. I gave her a pain pill at 5:00 am without making her eat
something before taking the pills. She still has bleeding from her knee. She
had a doctor’s appointment at 2:00 pm in Brandon. We know all the bleeding is
cause because of the blood thinners. Well the knee doctor and heart doctor came
to an agreement that she can be off the blood thinners for a few days until the
blood clots to stop the bleeding. She has another follow up appointment on
Thursday. The doctor said that she may have to go back in the hospital to have
the dried blood removed again. The trip to the doctor just about did her in.
She had a hard time in the car and rode in the back seat as she couldn’t get
her leg in the front seat. All she had to eat today was half of an English
muffin. She went to bed early this evening and gave her a pain pill after she
eat the muffin. I tried to watch some TV but slept through most everything and
decided to go to bed. Thank you God for safe travels to the doctor and home.

When I got home from my walk
Cheri was already up and ready for me to help her with her sponge bath. So by
6:00 am she was in her recliner. Being I forgot yesterday to get the breakfast sandwich
and cinnamon roll from the Hole in One donut shop I went this morning and got
them. The cinnamon rolls had been just made and where still warm, nothing like
a really fresh made cinnamon roll. Because of the pain pills Cheri is taking
she does a lot of sleeping. I did stream the church service and Sunday school
lesson. Pastor Randy’s message was more on fault teachers and their destruction.
Our Sunday school lesson was titled “God Renews” from Isaiah 40:18-31. God
provides strength for those who trust in Him. This afternoon while watching TV
the unit that is removing the blood from Cheri’s knee went into an alarm. We
made a call and a young lady came and changed it. We normally have pizza
midafternoon but because of the blood unit we didn’t know if someone was coming
or if we would have to go in. So the pizza wasn’t ready until after 6:00 pm. I
watched the Bucks football game and was going to watch the NASCR race but was
rained out and will be on tomorrow at 10:00 am. Cheri went to bed early and
watched TV there while I was watched the football game. Thank you God for
taking care of us and being able to watch the church service and Sunday school
lesson.

Cheri had a pretty good day.
We got her meds set up so she was pretty much pain free today. She can’t do any
therapy until after she see the doctor on Monday. Need to make sure all the
bleeding has stopped. I did get out of the house to go and check on Steve and
Sue’s house as I thought when I walked by the other morning that there was a
light left on from the open house. But everything was ok and didn’t find any
light that was on. I fixed us a sandwich for lunch and then tried to do some
reading but couldn’t stay awake and did some napping this afternoon. Cheri was
doing a lot of napping as the meds make her very tired. Nikki called this
afternoon to check on Cheri. For supper I headed up more of the roast beef that
Rick and Janis bought us. I found a new show called Expedition Unknown. It was
pretty good so we watch several episodes. We went to bed early and watch some
more TV. Thank you God for getting Cheri through the day with less pain. Thank
you to everyone that is praying for her.

Cheri was up at 4:00 am, didn’t
sleep well. I skipped my morning walk as needed to help her get cleaned up. We
left here at 6:20 am as we had to be at the hospital by 7:15 am. We sat in the
surgery waiting room for 45 minutes before they came and got her for surgery
prep. She had to wait until 11:45 am before they took her in for the surgery. I
am not sure why we had to be so early as it was a long wait. I went back to the
waiting room and at 12:30 pm the doctor called and said everything went well
and wants to see her Monday. Cheri always has a bad time coming out of the anesthesia.
We always tell them that she has a problem but never helps. But today she came
through without being sick, the first time this has happen, really good news.
She was in a lot of pain and gave her a lot of pain medication. It was after
4:00 pm when we got home. By them the pain medication had kicked in and she was
pretty much out of it the rest of the evening. I had started laundry before we
left for the hospital and finished that this evening. I fixed some of Rick and Janis’s roast beef for
supper and she was able to eat that along with a piece of cake. She slept in
her recline until a little after 9:00 pm when I got her up and into bed. I
stayed up and watched the Badger football game and was 11:45 pm when I crawled
into bed. Thank you God for getting Cheri through the surgery and back home.
Thank you for all the prayers for us.

I didn’t have time to do the
blog yesterday morning so I will try to catch up. I was able to do my morning
walk. The new normal right now is to get Cheri up and help her get cleaned up
for the day. Then get her into her recliner. I fixed us eggs and bacon for
breakfast along with our morning coffee. I got a load of laundry going before
we left for Cheri’s doctor appointment at the Tampa Bay clinic. He told her
because of all the bleeding she has a hematoma from the blood thinners. Long
story short she has to go back in for surgery tomorrow to get it cleaned out.
It was around 2:00 pm when we got home. Later in the day cousin Rick and Janis brought
over roast beef with carrots, onions, and potatoes plus cake. We held off on
having it for supper as we had other food that needed to be eaten.
Gay Oct-21-20

Cheri continues to be lightheaded and not able to walk very far. She had a doctor’s appointment at 10:30 am in Wesley Chapel. The good news is that she is no longer bleeding from where the drain tube was. But she is still bleeding around the stiches in the knee. The doctor put on a new bandage and she has to go back tomorrow. He also added an antibiotic for her to take. It was 12:30 pm when we got home. I fixed her lunch and got her settled in her recliner with the leg wraps and ice machine. I made a trip to the pharmacy to pick up the new medication. At 5:30 pm Sharon (church friend) brought us our evening dinner which was hot and ready to eat. We had shepherd’s pie, coleslaw, French bed, fresh fruit, and lemon cake. What a wonderful meal. Mike and Pam also brought us a tater tot casserole. Thank you Pam and Mike. It was after 7:00 pm before we were settled in to watch some TV. That didn’t last long as we were both exhausted and went to bed early and tried watching some more TV in bed. Thank you God for helping us through this day and all the friends helping and praying for us.

I was out the door at 4:50 am
for my morning walk and met Dennis along the way so we could visit and walk together.
Cheri was awake when I got back. She got up and was light headed so went back
to bed. A little later she got up and helped her get cleaned up. I fixed her a
scrambled egg with bacon for breakfast. After she eat I got her into her
recliner and got the ice machine hooked up. The therapist came at 10:30 am and
Cheri was still bleeding from the knee drain that had be removed before leaving
the hospital. So call the doctor office here in Zephyrhills to see the doctor’s
nurse at 11:30 am. She checked it out and put some glue over the opening that
was bleeding. That seemed to help some. Before we left there the doctor wants
to see her tomorrow at the Wesley Chapel office. The doctor wanted to have her
go home and get in bed for the rest of the day and night and keep her leg elevated
bent to 90 degrees which she couldn’t do 90 degrees because of all the wrapping
over the knee. I didn’t do any work today as I was exhausted and spent the
afternoon in my recliner trying to read and did more napping. I fixed the
leftovers from all the food that Cricket brought yesterday. Thank you God for
guiding us through this day and give Cheri healing power.

Cheri was up for a short time
and said that she was feeling light headed so I helped her back in bed. A while
later she got up and had to lay down again. I fixed her a couple of scrambled
eggs and bacon for breakfast which she eat in bed. After a while she was able
to get and get dressed and helped her to her recliner and said that she was
still light headed which lasted all day. The therapist came at 11:30 am and
change the dressing on her knee. It was still bleeding and called the doctor
and if it is still bleeding tomorrow she will have to go to the doctor. Pam and
Mike brought over a salad and ribs from Sonny’s for our lunch. Thanks Pam and
Mike for doing that for us. Cricket (one of our church friends) brought over
dinner for us, rotisserie chicken, dressing, gravy, salad, and cranberry sauce.
It was a lot of food and have enough for two more meals. Thank you Cricket for
doing this. I was able to do some work outside in between helping Cheri. I got
two of the fence panels back up. The golf cart batteries were charged and I tried
out the cart and went about a half block and back. It makes a strange noise
like maybe it is supposed to let people know you are coming, something to check
out later. Cheri did a lot of napping today and we tried to watch some TV this
evening but both napped through everything so we called it a day. Thank you God
for guiding us through this day and healing for Cheri.

Cheri was up really early
this morning. She had some breakfast and coffee feeling pretty good. I helped
get her cleaned up and into her recliner. I got the ice machine going and her
leg wraps on. Then she got to feeling sick and was sick. She was able to rest
and nap this afternoon. The therapist came at 12:30 pm and change the dressing
on her leg. I also changed it this morning as she had some bleeding from the
drain that had been in her knee. She woke up around 5:00 pm and said that she
was hungry. I asked her what she wanted and said our usual Sunday pizza. She
did well this evening and watch football and NASCAR racing with me. This
evening she said that her pain level was between a six and seven. Instead of
taking an Oxycodone pill which I am sure is what made her sick today I had her
take a Tramadol pain pill. So with Gods help we got through another day.
Gay Oct-17-20

Cheri called me this morning
at 8:00 am and said that she was feeling good and no pain. I don’t think the
block has worn off. I couldn’t get in to see her until 9:00 am. The doctor was
in to see her and told her if she passed the walking test she could go home.
Well she did really well with the walking, even the nurses were surprised how
good she did. So we were home at 2:00 pm. I have the ice machine working on her
knee and another unit on the calf of her other leg to keep any blood clot from
developing, I get her out of her chair every hour to walk and do some
exercising. I asked her what her pain level was at 6:00 pm and told me it
was around a six which is pretty as the last pain pill was at 12:30 pm. Long
story short she is doing great for what she went though. A big thank you to
everyone for all of the prayers. I fixed sloppy Joes for supper which Cheri had
frozen in the freezer, so it was an easy fix for me. We did watch some TV this
evening. Also got a call from Nikki checking on Cheri. Later I gave her the
pills she needed to take this evening and called it a night as she was really
tired from all she went through today. Thank you God for the good report on
Cheri and getting her back home. Thanks again for the prayers.
Gay Oct-16-20

When I got back from my
morning walk Cheri was up showered and dressed for the day. She said that she
got up at 5:00 am. Said she couldn’t sleep and had a lot on her mind. She had
to be at the hospital at 8:30 am and got a call wanting to see if we could come
earlier so we left the house right away and got there at 8:00 am. She was ready
to go in for surgery at 10:00 am when the nurses came to take her in. They said
that they would call me when the surgery started. So I got a call at 11:00 am
saying they were starting. At 12:30 pm I got a call from the doctor that said
they were done and everything went well. About an hour later I got a call that
I could go and be with her. Cheri always has trouble coming out of the
anesthesia and today was no different. She was really sick and a bad headache. It
was 5:00 pm before the got her in to a room and still was pretty much out of
it. I left at 5:30 pm and she was starting to come around but not wanting to do
any talking. I was exhausted from just setting around and waiting. When I got
home I got myself something to eat and then tried to watch some TV but couldn’t
stay awake so I headed to bed at 8:00 pm. Thank you God for getting Cheri
through the surgery and help her with the recovery. Thank you to all the people
that have prayed for her.
Gay Oct-15-20

Cheri has been busy
getting laundry done along with getting things ready for her surgery tomorrow.
I left the house at 8:00 am heading to a church friend’s (Bill) house. With his
truck and trailer we went and picked up the golf cart that I received for doing
work for a couple in Tampa Bay country. While I was gone the people came with
the equipment Cheri needs for her knee after the surgery. This afternoon Cheri
went for her haircut, wanted to get it done before her surgery because she won’t
be going anywhere for some time. I spent some time checking over the golf cart
and am trying to bring the batteries back to life. I also started working on
putting the fence back up around my work area. I also made a trip to Ron and
Sandy’s to pick up some things that will help Cheri. Our daughter Nikki called
to give Cheri some support and had a good visit. I headed out to pick up subs
from Jersey Mike’s to have for supper. It was a normal evening of TV and
reading. Thank you God for guiding us through this day. After you read this
would you please say a prayer for Cheri’s surgery tomorrow.
Gay Oct-14-20

Dennis and I were able to
walk together this morning. No work done by me today. I had an 8:00 am dentist
appointment for a new crown (wonder if that will elevate me higher on the
kingship). It was 10:30 am when I got home. Cheri had some documents that she
wanted me to copy and about half through I ran out of printer ink. So Cheri and
I headed out to drop off some things at Good Well. Then a stop at Wal-Mart, pharmacy,
and the bank. The carport guys came and finished the carport, glad to have that done. After lunch I headed to Tampa VA for an appointment for my eyes.
Long story short it was 5:00 pm when I got home. Cheri had been busy with
laundry wanting to get it done before going for her surgery Friday. She also
made two batches of cookies. She fixed us waffles for supper. We both read a
while before turning on the TV. We watched a couple of new fall shows, one was
called Next which I am not sure about and the other one was The FBI
Declassified which I liked. We also watched Life Below Zero. Thank you God for
a blessed day and getting so much done.
Gay Oct-13-20

I left the house at 6:30
am heading to Dade City for my accountability breakfast and Bible study. There were
five of us this morning and studied the first part of Ephesians chapter four. I
was back home a little before 9:00 am. Cheri left at 9:15 am for her doctor
appointment with the knee doctor. She got the negative virus report back today
(good news). No more doctor visits until after her surgery on Friday. I worked
outside on removing the rest of the stuff in my work area and manage to get the
power washing done. This afternoon I went over to Dick and Linda’s to help Dick
with the new kitchen cabinets that were delivered. He thought he would need
help getting them in the garage. But the driver that unloaded them had a
motorized cart and move them right into the garage. I helped Dick do an inventory
of the cabinets, a couple of things were shipped wrong and was going to call
them and get it taken care of. When I got home I headed to the shower to get
cleaned up. Then it was time for Cheri and me to have our reading time. Cheri
fixed us pork chops she had going in the crockpot along with fresh fried
potatoes with milk gravy. We watched a couple of new shows which I don’t
remember the name of along with some more Dateline. Thank you God for helping
us through this day and keeping us healthy and safe.

Cheri and I left the house
at 6:45 am heading to Wesley Chapel hospital so Cheri could have the COVID virus
test which she had to have before her knee surgery on Friday. It was 8:30 am
when we got home. Cheri only had a half hour to rest before leaving for her
primary doctor appointment, has to have a release from him for the surgery. I
worked outside removing all my tools and materials from my carport work area. I
want to give it a good power washing as it is really dirty. I took a load of scrap
lumber to the transfer station. It is a good time to get rid of a lot of things
I no longer need. By 3:30 pm I was tired and done for the day. I still have
more to move out of the work area and hope to get that done tomorrow. Cheri was
busy with her Monday’s house work. After I showered I joined her as she was
resting and reading her novel. So I settled in to read mine. We both are
reading the Left Behind book series. She is on the second book and I am reading
the third book. Cheri fixed us chili for supper. After supper we both read more
before turning on the TV. We watch Dateline, Life below Zero, and Dancing with
the Stars. Or I should say Cheri watched Dancing with the Stars, I just don’t
like the MC. Thank you God for a blessed day and getting things done around the
house today.
Gay Oct-11-20

We left the house at 9:20
am heading to Dade City for church and Sunday school. Pastor Randy had a really
good message today. It was titled “Watching Out for Pitfalls” from 2 Peter
2:1-3. It was all about False Teachers and Their Destruction. Our Sunday school
lesson was titled “God Protects” from Isaiah 31:1-9. God is able to protect His
people from enemies. It was after 1:00 pm when we got home. Cheri put the
Sunday pizza in the oven to have while we watch TV. After a couple of shows and
a movie it was time for me to watch the NASCAR race. We had a hard rain this
afternoon that lasted only about three minutes. I went out to see how the new
carport handled the water. One section of the rain gutter leaked really badly
and the end of another gutter was leaking. Also a few other leaks. Needless to
say I wasn’t happy. Later in the evening we each had an English muffin with
peanut butter plus a chocolate chip cookie. Thank you God for time spent with
you and church friends today.
Gay Oct-10-20

I felt better this morning
so the walk went well. Cheri was up early this morning so I headed out earlier
to get the Saturday morning breakfast sandwich and cinnamon rolls from the Hole
in One donut shop. After breakfast I headed to Dade City to change out eight
blinds in our Sunday school building. I was home by noon and was really tired.
I didn’t do anything this afternoon. Cheri and I both relaxed and read our
novels. Although I did stop reading a few times as I had trouble staying awake.
It was nice to be able to relax and have it quiet in the house. We had
leftovers from our meal at Harry’s for supper, still very good. Cheri called
her girlfriend Pat in Maine to see how their son is doing. He had gone through chemo
and radiation for cancer and now will have surgery to have it removed, good
news. This evening we watch movies and Dateline before calling it a night. Thank
you God for a blessed and relaxing day.
Gay Oct-9-20

My morning walk seemed
long as I had to push myself to get it done. I was going to work next door on
the kitchen project but called and they are still under the weather. I told
them I wouldn’t be coming as Cheri will have her knee surgery and I didn’t want
to get anything that I might pass on to her and not be able to have her surgery. Cheri started the laundry early and then made a trip to Wal-Mart and
Publix’s for groceries and a few other things we needed. The carport guys were
here by 8:15 am. They left later this afternoon and never came to the door to
tell me that they were done. When I checked I had asked for an additional down
spout as there would be more water coming off the house. Well that didn’t get
done. Now I have to get to work and get my fence back up. I stayed home all day
doing some paper and computer work. We both relaxed in our recliners reading
and napping. We did stream and watch the Wednesday church service. Pastor Randy
is getting into the book of Daniel, good stuff. At 3:30 pm Cheri and I headed
to Lakeland to have dinner at Harry’s. We really enjoy going there as they have
great food and service. When we got home we settled in for an evening of TV. We
watched a couple of movies we had recorded. Thank you God for a blessed day spending
time together.
Gay Oct-8-20

I left the house at 7:30
am heading to the VA in Tampa for my doctor’s appointment. When I got there
they told me that I didn’t have an appointment today. When there was a mix up
on my blood test and had to take a second one they called me to let me know
that all was ok. So they canceled my appointment without telling me. So the
lady at the counter explained everything to me and got me another appointment.
She was so nice and spent a lot of time helping me. Before I left this morning
I moved the truck out so the carport guys could work. Well when I got home no
one had showed up to work. So I put the truck back under the carport along with
the car. Well at 1:30 pm guess who showed up? Yep the carport guys. So once
again I moved the car and truck out of the way and then they were gone by 3:00
pm. Sure will be glad when they are done. Most of my day was spent in the
recliner reading and finished the second book of Left Behind. I did go for a
haircut at 4:00 pm this afternoon. Cheri spent the day with laundry, Thursday
housework, and making a batch of chili for supper and a few more meals. I slept
through everything that I was supposed to be watching with Cheri. Thank you God
for helping us through this day.
Gay Oct-7-20

Our weather has turned hot
again for the last few days, just like summer again and no rain for a few days.
I worked on cleaning out the truck bed and restocking my tools. I then called
the neighbor about working on their kitchen project but was told that they
weren’t feeling good and I didn’t want to be around them. I did get a call to
fix a toilet that was leaking water between the tank and bowl. So I had to make
a trip to Lowe’s for the parts. I was done and back home by noon. Cheri had
gone to Wesley Chapel for her labs. I sat down in my recliner with a sandwich
for lunch and then napped until Cheri got home. We both read for a while and
then I took the car through the car wash and filled it with gas. On the way
home I stopped at Jersey Mike’s for subs to have for supper. After supper we
settled in for the evening watching TV. We watched several different shows plus
watched the VP debate. Thank you God for a blessed day.
Gay oct-6-20

My walk this morning seem
like it was a long walk, don’t think my heart was really into it. I left the
house at 6:30 am to pick up my breakfast for our Tuesday morning accountability
group breakfast and Bible study. Before I left this morning I moved the truck
out of the driveway so the carport guys would be able to work. It was around
8:45 am when I got home and they were busy working. I got cleaned up and ready
to leave at 9:15 am for an appointment in Tampa Bay country to install a
ceiling fan. When I was done with that I stop for a visit with Bob Conover, not
doing very well. Then it was over to the siding project to pick up the old
siding and old recliner to take to the transfer station. All said and done I
was home by 2:30 pm. The carport guys have all the structural work done and
ready to install the roof pans. Said that the roof pans would be in tomorrow
and will be back on Thursday to install them. After I got cleaned up I joined
Cheri who was reading her novel. I finished watching the Green Bay Packer
football game which I saw on the internet that they had won but was still fun
to watch them play. Cheri had a busy day with normal Tuesday house work and
more fall cleaning. We had leftovers for supper. We tried to call our daughter
Kari to wish her a happy birthday but didn’t get an answer. We watched Life below
Zero and a couple home improvement shows. Thank you God for a blessed day
keeping us healthy and safe from the virus.

carport progress |

I was out the door at 7:30 am heading to the VA to have my leg checked. Good news it is healing well and I don’t have to go back again. When I was on my way down to the VA I got a call from Cheri that the guys were there to work on the carport. I had planned on going to Tampa Bay Country to work there but had to change my schedule and come back home to remove the fence around the carport. Because they are rising the roof I will have to put in all new post for the fence. It took me until 3:30 pm to get all the fence down and the many other things that had to be moved to put up the beams. Cheri worked on my medical records from the doctors and the Zephyrhills hospital so I can take them with me for my VA doctor’s appointment Thursday. Cheri fixed us a ham and noodle casserole for supper along with a chocolate chip cookie for dessert. This evening we watched a couple of movies which I slept through the first one. I guess I need to rest so I could watch the Green Bay Packer football game this evening. I was only able to stay awake until halftime before calling it a night. Cheri had gone to the bedroom to watch Dancing with the Stars. Thank you God for the day you blessed us with and getting several projects done.

I woke up a little before
4:00 am and could hear it was raining, no walk this morning so rolled over and
went back to sleep. Woke up at 5:00 am and still raining, rolled over again and
went back to sleep. I finally got up at 6:00 am. We didn’t have to be anywhere
until 9:20 am when we leave for church. Pastor Randy’s message was titled “Foundation
of our Faith” from 2 Peter 1:16-21. Our Sunday school lesson was titled “God
Saves” from Isaiah 25:1-10a. God’s sovereign plan includes providing a way of
salvation for those who believe in Him. The church was handing out boxes of
food for people in need. So Cheri and I took two boxes and delivered them to
people in our park that could use them. It was after 1:00 pm when we got home.
Cheri started the oven so we could have our Sunday pizza. Cheri did some
reading, Sudoku puzzles, and some napping. I watched Bucks football and the
NASCAR race. This evening we called Darren and Brooke to see how they are
doing. Darren is busy with work, said he just finished a big job. We got to see
and talk to Wyatt which was nice, first time he took time to actually talk to
us. We watched a home renovation home show before calling it a night. It was
cloudy and light rain most of the day. Thank you God for time spent with you
and friends today.

It must be Saturday
because I went and got our Saturday morning breakfast sandwich and cinnamon
rolls at the Hole in One Donut shop. I left the house a little pass 8:00 am
heading to Tampa VA to have the lab test as I think they did the wrong test
last time. Long story short I got a call from the doctor telling me my
platelets were over 100 which is still on the low side but ok. When I got home
I called Frank to see if he could help me with the siding project. He said that
he could help me and we started at 11:00 am. By 4:00 pm we had the project
done. All that is left for me to do is haul away the old siding and store the
left over siding in their garage. I hope to do that on Monday. Cheri had a busy
day doing more fall cleaning and making a batch of chocolate chip cookies. She
fixed us a ribeye steak with a baked potato for supper. We had the rest of the
apple pie for a snack while watching TV. We watched an Alaskan survival show
and an episode of Dateline. Thank you God for a good doctor’s report and
guiding us through this day.

Dennis has gone north for
a week and won’t have him to walk with. Cheri was busy with laundry, grocery
shopping, making a chicken pot pie for our friends, and an apple pie. I had a
heart doctor appointment this morning to have an Abdominal Aortic Ultrasound to
check an aneurysm I have. Good news it hasn’t change in size. So I was late
getting to work on the siding project. I did have a good and am over half down
with the project. I was hoping to get it done tomorrow but this evening I got a
call from the VA saying that my lab test showed that I have very low blood
platelets and wanted me to go to the ER right away. I told them I was feeling
ok and would go for another lab test tomorrow. Which means I will probably won’t
get my siding project done tomorrow. I went and got a fish dinner from Calver’s
to have for supper. Cheri and I split a meal and both have enough to eat. Later
we had a piece of apple pie. We watched a movie and a couple episodes of Cold
Case Files. Thank you God for taking care of us and giving me a good doctor’s
report.

Another month as slipped
away, seems Iike I blinked a couple of times and it was gone. Cheri was busy
with laundry, sewing room stuff, and changing the decorations for Halloween. I
had a lab appointment at 9:15 am so late getting to work. I returned the things
that I bought at Lowe’s yesterday and they didn’t have the starter strips I
needed. So I headed to Home Depot and found that they were out of them. They
told me I could get them at the Home Depot down near Tampa. Long story short I
did get them and was noon before I could start work. I removed the two pieces
of siding I had put on yesterday. Then removed the old starter strip and
installed the new one. With the new starter strip the siding went right on
without and problems. I quit work at 3:00 pm, too hot to continue. While I was
getting cleaned up Cheri started supper. We had bake ham and green beans. Later
we had a cookie for a snack. We watched a movie and then streamed the Wednesday
night church service. Pastor Randy has started with the book of Daniel. It is
going to be interesting. We watched an episode of Cold Case Files and called it
a night. Thank you God for blessed day and time spent with the church service.

Got a good start for the day. |
Gay Sept-30-20

Once again Dennis and I were
able to walk together this morning. Cheri went to pick up some medication for
me this morning and did some additional shopping and errands she needed to do.
I left the house at 8:15 am heading to Tampa Bay Country to work on the siding
project. I stopped and picked up Frank Maninglee to help me with the siding. We
removed part of the old siding, old TV cable, and electrical outlet that wasn’t
needed any longer. Things went well until noon so took a break and went to
Burger King for lunch. When we got back we had trouble getting the new siding
to hook into the starter strip, we even did a modification on the siding but
still didn’t work. I decided to quit for the day and see about getting a new
starter strip. So on the way home I took the truck through the carwash and then
a stop at Lowe’s to get a new starter strip and a backer board for the strip. I
was home around 4:00 pm. After I was home awhile I realized I bought the wrong
strip as it was a finishing strip. I was too tired to go back today. So I
showered and Cheri started supper. She fixed us chip beef gravy over scrambled
eggs on toast. Then a chocolate cookie for dessert. I slept through most of the
shows we were watching. At 7:00 pm I woke up to take our nightly meds. Then I
was able to stay awake to watch a couple of shows before calling it a night.
Thank you God for guiding us through this day.
