Sharp's Travels

It was a very nice morning much cooler and dryer air. I got the tarps off the tools and got the door bell button reinstalled from the house washing. I took the car through the carwash. Cheri was busy with her house work and ironing. We left at 11:30 am for church in Dade City. Pastor Randy’s lesson today was Psalms 36. When we got home we had a sandwich for a late lunch. Then I headed out to repair some cabinet doors and a dinning room chair. When I got home I joined Cheri in the recliners and tried to read but ended up napping until it was supper time. We watched two episodes of NCIS Hawaii, having trouble getting into it. We also watched two of the FBI shows. Thank you God for a blessed day and time spent with you. 

I was out the door at 6:20 am heading to Dade City for our accountability group breakfast and Bible study. We finished up the book of Act. It was after 9:00 am when I got home. Our neighbor is back from the North country. Had short visit with him this morning. We are getting our house power washed today so I had a lot of thing to move to be ready. I moved both golf carts out in the yard, removed the outdoor temp units, removed the door bell button, and put tarps over the tools behind the fence. Cheri removed the flowers from her bicycle and I put a tarp over it. Later I went to Publix to get the things I needed for our Mens Night Out. After the power washing it was doing everything in reverse that I did this morning. Cheri was busy with her Tuesday house work. I left the house at 5:00 pm heading to Dade City for our Mens Night Out. I had to get the tables set up and things ready for the evening. There were thirteen of us and Charle Rodgers delivered the message. It was a good evening we had pulled pork, bake beans, coleslaw, drinks, and dessert for our meal. It was around 8:30 pm when I got home. Thank you God for time spent with you and Christian men.

I got Cheri roses today.

I worked on cleaning out some of the stuff from the truck from some pass jobs. I needed to make room for a trip to Lowe’s to get materials for Kacey’s air vent that I started to work on a few weeks ago, Time to get that project competed. I did get insulation installed around the vent this forenoon. After lunch I got the materials I needed and continue working on the vent project. It was around 5:30 pm when I got home. It wasn’t as humid today which helped for working outside. Cheri was busy with her normal Monday housework. She also made a new recipe called Chicken Parmesan Pasta. It was pretty good and have enough for a couple more meals. I was really tired from work today so ended up going to bed early as I couldn’t stay awake to watch any TV. We did watch some TV in bed before calling it a night. Thank you God for helping us through this day.

We headed out at 8:50 am for church. We had all the extra stuff and food for the Linger Longer after Sunday school. Pastor Randy’s message was titled “Uncommon Grace” from Galatians 1:11-24. After church we guys helped set up tables in the fellowship hall for Linger Longer. Cheri and some of the other ladies stayed behind to get things ready for after Sunday school. Our lesson was titled “Joy in knowing Jesus” from Philippians 3:8-21. Believers gain joy through knowing Jesus and living in obedience to Him. After Sunday school we all headed over to the fellowship hall to have our lunch together. The theme for Linger Longer was sport tailgating. It was a good time and was after 2:00 pm when we got home. Cheri read and I watched the first half of the Tampa Bay Bucks game before it was time to head back to church for an informational meeting about building a new building on the property out in the country. There was good turn out and will be voting next Sunday. It was around 8:00 pm when we got home. Cheri read some before heading to bed. I finished watching the Bucks game and then the NASCAR race. After that was over I settled in to watch the Green Bay Packer game. It was after midnight when I got to bed. Thank you God for a blessed day spending time with you and friends.

Not much going on today as I took the day off from work. Cheri and I went out for breakfast at Sunrise Eatery. Cheri had some shopping she needed to get done, While she was shopping I went to Donna Perkins to check her house and took her car for a short drive. Later this morning in went for a haircut which I needed really bad. Cheri fixed us a grilled ham and cheese sandwich for lunch. I spent the afternoon watching the Wisconsin Badgers play Notre Dame. The Badgers played badly and lost. Cheri spent the afternoon reading. I had leftover beef tips on a potato and Cheri had a bowl of cereal for supper. Our evening was watching some of the Chicago shows and Dateline. Thank you God for a relaxing day and taking care of us.

I got a call from Mike and Pam this morning. Mike said that they wanted me to install a new shower head in their bathroom and then take that one and install it in the other bathroom. They also had a broken sink stopper, So Mike and I went to Lowe’s for the repair parts. After that was repaired we sat and visited for a while. It was around 12:30 pm when I got home. Cheri had been doing the bed laundry and dusting. We had a late lunch while watching a show on TV. This afternoon I went checked out a driveway for Lou Kerwood. She was concerned about some discoloring in the driveway paint. To me it looked like the sealer coat was coming off. I also did a little honeydew project for Cheri for the Linger Longer lunch Sunday. Cheri made beef tips and gravy over potatoes for supper. We watched some of the new fall shows which I had a hard time staying awake to watch. Thank you God for a blessed day.

I had my last PT for my back this morning. I think it did help but still have some pain. Cheri worked on fall decorations outside and laundry along with other housework. I headed out to finish the electrical work in Wesley Chapel. Things went well and was done with the project by 1:30 pm. It was good to be home early. I hadn’t eaten the lunch Cheri fixed for me so sat and eat that before taking a shower. I spent the rest of the afternoon in my recliner napping while Cheri watched some renovation shows. We had leftover brats and potato salad for supper. Later we had some watermelon while watching some new fall shows. Thank you God for helping us with our projects today.

I headed out for work at 8:30 am with a stop at Lowes for a couple things I needed today. I got the 50 amp electrical service installed and the two holes closed up with a coat of plaster. After lunch I worked on the raising an outdoor outlet that is too low because of the new patio pavers that are being installed. When I open up the outlet it was wet and everything was corroded. So I was going to need parts and there wasn’t going to be enough time for me to get the parts and the project done this afternoon. So I called it a day and headed home. It was nice being done early so I could get cleaned up and relax before we went to church. Cheri went for a haircut this morning and then did her normal Wednesday house work. She fixed us brats and potato salad for supper. We left at 6:00 pm for church. Dr. Lynch message was from Titus. When we got home we settled with some watermelon that Cheri bought and watched the first fall epasold of NCIS. Thank you God for taking care of and time spent with you.

I headed out at 6:20 am for my accountability group breakfast and Bible study. We finished Acts chapter 27. I was back home by 9:00 am. I got the truck loaded and headed over to Wesley Chapel to start and electrical project installing a 50 amp service a new electric car. It was hot working in the garage and attic running cable and conduit. I quit work at 3:00 pm. As I was too hot and tired to continue. I needed to get home to get cleaned up and rest before it was time to head out for another evening of church and DR. Lynch. I am not sure what all Cheri did today but did notice that there is different decorations on the dining room table. We had leftover chili for supper. We left at 6:00 pm for church. Dr. Lynch had another good lesson from Palms 2. It was a little pass 8:00 pm when we got home. I was really tired so when to bed and watched a little TV there before calling it a night. Thank you God for helping us through this day and time spent with you this evening.

I headed out for my 9:00 am PT. I think it is helping but seems like each day is different. After PT I stopped and fill the car with gas, now is $3.05 per gal, down a couple of cents. Cheri headed out to do some shopping and stopped for groceries. I headed out to Home Depot to get materials for work that I couldn’t get at Lowe’s. When I got back I worked on repairing a garbage deposal for a party here in our park. This afternoon I worked on a clothes dryer that didn’t heat. I checked the heating element which was ok but installed a new one along with new sensors. Checked it out afterwards and still no heat. I ran out of time to do anymore checking today. When I got home Cheri was making chili for supper. I got cleaned up and then had our chili before heading to church in Dade City to hear DR. Lynch. His message was from Psalms 2. It was a little pass 8:00 pm when we got home. Just in time to settle in and watch the Green Bay Packers game with the Detroit Lions. I manage to stay awake for the whole game which didn’t get over until a little pass 11:00 pm. Yes the Packers did win. Cheri only made it to halftime before she headed to bed. Thank you God for helping us through this day and time spent with you in church this evening.

We headed out at 9:00 am for church. We had a guess speaker today, Dr. Ron Lynch. His message was titled “The will of god” from Romans 12:1-2. Our Sunday school lesson was titled “Joy Through Humility”. Believers find joy through humbly following Christ in all circumstances. We had biscuits and gravy for lunch at Sunday school so didn’t order any pizza today. On the way home we did stop at the pharmacy and got our flu shots. This afternoon I watched the rest of the NASCAR race while Cheri read. When that was over we watched a movie and had pizza from the freezer. We left the house at 6:00 pm to head back to Church to hear Dr. Lynch’s message which was from 2 Corinthians 12:2-10. It was after 8:00 pm when we got home. We tried to watch a movie but couldn’t stay awake to watch all it. Thanks God for time spent with you and friends.

Cheri was busy with getting all her fall decorations out and getting the house decorated. I worked on the microwave project and finished it at 12:30 pm. When I got home I headed to the shower before having lunch. The afternoon was spent in our recliners. I tried to do some reading but it wasn’t long before I was sleeping in the recliner. Cheri read some and watched a movie on TV. Cheri made enchiladas for supper. We watch an epasold of Dateline and 20/20 before the NASCAR race started. I could only stay awake for part of it. Nice to have a DVR so I don’t miss anything. Thank you God for a blessed day.

I headed over to Dennis and Terri’s this morning to remove a 42 inch stove hood and to install a 30 inch microwave. I had to do several cuts and remodeling to make it fit. I came home for lunch and then a trip to Lowe’s for vent materials. At 1:00 pm it started raining and lasted all afternoon. I did get the microwave installed but still have some cabinet repairs to do. I left all my tools there because of the rain. Cheri had Cricket and Linda over as they were making decorations for the Linger Longer. Then all of us met at Chili’s at 4:45 pm to have diner. Dinner wasn’t very good but had a good time visiting. It was 7:00 pm when we got home. We settled in to watch some TV before calling it a night. Thank you for time spent with good friends today and for God keeping us healthy and safe.

I headed out for my 9:00 am PT appointment. Cheri was busy with laundry this morning. I went over to Dennis and Sue’s to help Dennis install a stair railing on their outside steps. From there I went to Lou Kirwood’s to install a new kitchen light. After that I was ready for my shower and then the recliner. Cheri joined me and we spent time reading and napping. My stomach wasn’t feeling very good today. Everything that Cheri was going to fix for supper didn’t sound good to me. She ended up fixing us an egg, sausage, and cheese breakfast sandwich which really hit the spot. We started watching a movie that we didn’t finish, not very good. We did watch another one that wasn’t much better but did get through it. Thank you God for a blessed day.

Cheri was busy with her Wednesday housework. I headed over to Lowe’s to pick up some materials for work. When I got home I installed a new light switch in the bathroom as the old one was broke and the light would come on whenever it felt like it. After that it was time to head for the noon church service. We studied Psalms 32. We were home about 15 minutes before Dennis and Sue picked us up at 1:30 pm to make a trip to Ellington for dinner. With the trip and dinner if was 5:30 pm when we got home. We settled in to watch a movie and I napped through most of it. We got a call from Larry and Denise and they are ready to come to Florida but the border still isn’t open. I don’t under stand that our country can let all the illegals come across on the southern border but won’t open the border with Canada. Thank you God for time spent with you and friends today.

I didn’t go for my accountability group breakfast and Bible study this morning. I had to be in Wesley Chapel at 10:00 am for a MRI on my prostate and didn’t think I would have had time for the Bible study and breakfast, another reason was I couldn’t have anything to eat after 7:00 am. Cheri was busy with Tuesday house work and working on a project for Linger Longer. It was after noon when I got home. After lunch I headed over to Ron and Sandy’s. Their daughter and son in law have an electrical project for me to check out. Need to have a 50 amp out let installed to supply power for a new electric car they are getting. It is going to be a big job trying to fish cable 25 feet in the ceiling of the garage. When we got back to Ron and Sandy’s I pin nailed some quarter round that came loose. It was around 3:30 pm when I got home. I got cleaned up and spent a lot of time on the computer looking for the 50 amp cable I will be installing. This evening I was going to do security with Dennis but it started raining and security was canceled. We watched a movie that wasn’t very good, just enough interest to keep watching. Thank you God for a blessed day helping us with all of our projects.    

My PT wasn’t until 10:00 am so had more time around the house this morning. Cheri was busy with her normal Monday house work. After lunch I went to check out a dishwasher that hadn’t been used for 31 years. I turned on the water to it and run it through a complete cycle and it ran perfect, I was surprised as well as the home owner. I also went over to Kacey’s to remove the concrete forms and install a new switch in a florescent light. When I got home Pam and her daughter Holly was here. Holly was doing a test project for work and had Pam and Cheri help with it. This evening Pam called and said that Holly gave her money to take us out for supper. So we met Pam and Mike at Sunny’s for supper. After supper we make a stop at Ollie’s for some more books to read but didn’t find anything new. This evening we watched one of the movies I had bought but wasn’t very good. We had a hard rain storm come through this evening and received 2 3/4 inches. Thank you God for a blessed day helping us with our projects.

We left the house at 9:00 am heading to Dade City for church and Sunday school. Pastor Randy delivered the message today from Galatians 1:6-9. Only One Gospel. Our Sunday school lesson titled “Joy of Adversity” from Philippians 1:12-26. Believers can face adversity in the joy of knowing the gospel is spread. Cheri had a meeting after Sunday school to get things arranged for our Linger Longer on Sept 26. On the way home we picked up our normal Sunday pizza. I watched the rest of the NASCAR race while Cheri read. Then settled in reading and napping until the Green Bay Packer football game started. I couldn’t believe how bad they played. We watched a couple other shows before calling it a night. Thank you God for time spent with you and friends. 

After breakfast, Bible study, and exercises Cheri went to Publix’s for groceries and I headed to Lowe’s. I got the cement I needed for Kacey’s vent project. I got all the tools and equipment I needed to do the project. I was going to wait until Monday to pour the concrete but it was cloudy and thought as long as the sun wast beating down I should do it today. I called Dennis to see if he would help me and came right away to help. Things went well and was done by noon. When I got home Cheri was busy with making a batch of chocolate chip cookies. After I got cleaned up and Cheri got the cookies done we had a sandwich for lunch along with a warm cookie. We relaxed this afternoon reading, napping, and watching TV. The Wisconsin Badger football game wasn’t until 7:00 pm and the NASCAR race started at 7:30 pm. So I was busy trying to watch both of them. I did get through the football game but couldn’t stay awake to watch all of the race. So I will watch the rest of it tomorrow. Cheri was still awake watching TV in the bedroom when I decided I had enough for the day. Thank you God for a blessed day. We also got more rain this afternoon and evening.

Cheri was busy with bed laundry this morning. She went shopping and out for lunch with Lou Kirwood, a friend here in our park. I went over to Kacey’s to work on framing in the vent area for concrete. It was hot and humid with no air movement. I over did it and felt bad the rest of the day. I napped and read this afternoon. Cheri said that she didn’t buy anything today and that they eat at Chick-fil-A. Cheri made a taco casserole for supper from a new recipe and was ok but nothing special, she said that she wouldn’t make it again. I think there is enough leftover for a couple more meals. It was another movie night. Thank you God for a blessed day, taking care of us.

Cheri was busy with Landry this morning when I left for my PT appointment. I think that my back is starting to get little better. I planned on working over at Kacey’s on the sun room vent. Around 10:30 am it started to rain so that put a stop of working over at Kacey’s. So. I got another day to rest which was ok with me. Cheri has been working on the fall cleaning. I did go over to Dennis Sue’s after 3:00 pm to reinstall a transition strip that came up. I glued and pin nailed it. This evening I got a call to do some work over in Tampa Bay country for a party that I have done a lot of work for. I told them that I was retiring and wouldn’t be able to do it. I knew I could do it but it’s time to start saying no to a lot of projects. Cheri fixed us breakfast for supper, bacon, eggs, hash browns, English muffin, and orange juice. This evening we watched 48 Hours and a movie before calling it a night. Thank you God for taking care of us and keeping us healthy and safe.

It was a normal morning with breakfast and Bible study. Cheri was busy with the Wednesday house work and I had a lot of computer work to do this morning. We left the house at 11:30 am for the noon church service. Pastor Randy was teaching us about Psalms 30. We were home at 1:20 pm and Cheri had to leave right away for her doctor appointment, Her lungs scan was clean with no problems. After her appointment she went to Wal-Mart and said that it was so busy it was hard to find a parking place. I had a 3:00 pm appointment to do some electrical work and repair a cabinet door. On the way home I stopped at Jersey Mikes for subs to have for supper. After supper we settled in and watch two of the movies I had bought. We had seen both movies before but it was so long ago we didn’t remember much. Thank you God for time spent with you.

I left the house at 6:15 am heading to Dade City for my accountability group breakfast and Bible study. We had a new person join us this morning. There were seven of us studying Acts chapter 26. It was near 9:00 am when I got home, Cheri just finished breakfast and was doing her exercises. I got ready and went over to Kacey’s to work but after I got there I wasn’t feeling all that well so went home and spent the rest of the morning in the recliner. Cheri was busy with her Tuesday housework. Around noon I was feeling better and got ready for my PT at 2:00 pm. When I got home from the PT I headed back to the recliner. Cheri fixed us leftovers for supper. Later I went out for security with Dennis. When I got home Cheri and I watched an episode of 48 Hours before calling it a night. Thank you God for time spent with you and keeping us healthy and safe.

I hope everyone had a good Labor Day. Cheri was the only one that did anything today. She fixed us baked ham and German potato salad for lunch. We didn’t even go outside today. Just lazy Bible study, reading, napping, and watching TV. Late afternoon we did have a phone visit with Nikki, she is doing ok. We had an Italian sandwich for supper. Thank you God for a blessed and relaxing day.

I really did feel like getting up today. But it is church day. We left the house at 9:00 am for church. Pastor Jamies delivered the message today from 1 Corinthians 11:23-25 all about the Lords Supper and then we had the Lords Supper. Our Sunday school lesson was titled “Joy in Prayer” from Philippians 1:1-11. Believers find joy in praying for the spiritual growth of others. After Sunday school we ordered our Sunday pizza. It was after 1:00 pm when we got home with our pizza. This afternoon we read, napped, and watched a movie. Later after 6:00 pm I watched the NASCAR race, I quit at 10:30 pm. Couldn’t stay awake any longer. Will watch the rest of it tomorrow. Thank you God for time spent with you and church friends.

It was somewhat of a lazy morning as we were a little slower getting around. Cheri did a few things around the house. I went over to Kacey’s to work on the outside air-conditioning vent. It’s all rotten and needs to be rebuilt. I removing the old covering I found a major problem. The down spout from the rain gutter empties right there and has washed a hole under the house and all the rain water is running under the house. I am not sure exactly how I am going to fix it. I did go to Lowes and got some additional down spouts and elbows to see if I can reroute the water which needs to be down before any rebuilding can be done. I quit work at 1:00 pm. After getting cleaned up I settled in to watch the Wisconsin Badger football game. They were expected to win but that didn’t happen. It was poor showing by the Badgers. Dennis brought over some pulled pork that Sue made which we had for supper. It was very good. This evening we watched 48 Hours and Alaska Last Frontier the next Generation. Thank you God for a blessed day.

I am feeling much better today. I went for my 9:00 am PT. I had another good work out. Cheri was busy with laundry and other housework. Cheri was cleaning out the refrigerator when I got home getting it ready for me to see about the leak and thawing out the ice build up. It turned out to be a bigger job than I thought it would be. I had to take a lot more apart to get all the ice out. By 2:30 pm I was done with the refrigerator and then needed to wait an hour for it to cool down before Cheri could restock it. The rest of the afternoon was reading and napping, Cheri fixed us sloppy joe’s for supper. This evening we watched another one of the movies I bought. Thank you God for being with us today keeping us healthy safe.

I felt miserable when I got up this morning. I am still fighting the diarrhea which through out the day it started getting better. I still spent the day in my recliner. Cheri was busy with laundry and making a lemon meringue pie to take over to Dick and Linda’s. They invited us for supper and to play dominos after supper. It was a fun evening and got home around 9:15 pm. We headed to bed and watched some TV there before calling it a night. Thank you God for time spent with friends.

Another month gone, I feel like we are on a slippy slope and no way back. Cheri went at 9:00 am for her lung scan. She won’t get any results until next week when she see the doctor. I was supposed to go for PT at 11:00 am but call and told them I couldn’t make it as I am fighting a bad case of diarrhea. We did go for the noon church service.  Pastor James delivered the message today from Philippians 1:25-30. We made a stop on the way home at the pharmacy. After a late lunch we relaxed the rest of the afternoon. It started raining late morning and continued all day. This evening we went out for supper with Dennis and Sue at Sonny’s. We always have a good meal there but not so much this time. We watched a movie and called it a night. Thank you God for time spent with you and friends.

I was out the door at 6:20 am heading to Dade City for my accountability group breakfast and Bible Study. There were seven of us today studying Acts chapter 25. It was around 9:00 am when I got home. Cheri was busy with her Tuesday housework. I think she has finished getting everything in her sewing room back in order. I went over to Kacey’s this forenoon working on the garage door opener which had several problems to be repaired. Also install weather trim around the shed entry door. I got home at noon hot and sweaty, very hot woking outside. I got cleaned up and was ready for lunch. After lunch we did some reading. I did some computer work with Darren helping me with some things on the new computer, still learning how to use the apple computer. Cheri showed me some ice in the refrigerator crisper drawer. After checking it out also found ice in the bottom under the crisper drawer. I cleaned out all of the ice and tried to find where it was coming from. I ended up Googling the problem and found a U Tube Video that showed the exact problem we are having. The drain is frozen up, have to take the refrigerator all apart to get to the drain to thaw it out. Something I will work on Thursday. This evening I went out for security with Dennis. We were done and was home a little after 9:00 pm. We watched a couple of shows before calling it a night. Thank you God for helping us through this day keeping us healthy and safe.
