Gay August-5-09

We were in no hurry this morning as we only have 35 miles to go. So we took our time and relaxed with an extra cup of coffee. By the time we got the 5th wheel close up and the motorcycle loaded it was a little after 11:00 am before we left the campground. When we got to Sandy and Greg’s (Cheri’s sister) Cheri and Sandy went in the house to visit while I got things set up. The electrical outlet we use was broken so I jumped on the motorcycle and went and got a new one. It was a good excuse to go for a bike ride. I just got the new outlet installed when I heard a loud clap of thunder. I looked up and saw a large black cloud and the wind came up, the temperature dropped about 10 degrees. I quickly put things away and put the motorcycle in the garage. Will we ended up with just a sprinkle and soon the sun was back out and the temp was back up. At 4:00 pm Sandy, Cheri and I headed to Augusta for supper at Apple Bee’s. It’s Cheri’s and my favorite place to eat. But today the food was terrible. If it were our first time I would never eat at an Apple Bee’s again. We stopped to see Cheri’s other sister (Sharon) on the way back to Sandy’s. We had a nice visit with her and Ken. Greg (Sandy’s husband) is down in Wells trucking and doesn’t get home until the weekends.

Gay August-4-09

It is a beautiful day in the neighborhood today, lots of sunshine. I unload the motorcycle this morning and we took a 90 mile ride through the country side. We had called Ed and Lorraine LeBlanc from Turner Maine, but got no answer. They are friends that stay in the same campground as us in Florida. We did fine their home and left a note to call us so we could get together. We make a stop at an organic farm. They had a store with all organic foods, also made their own cheese. We got back to the 5th wheel around 1:30 pm and had a late lunch. Cheri finished up her laundry. We read and watch some TV. After supper we went to see Cheri’s girl friend and her husband (Pat & Roger Dunbar), Cheri and Pat worked and lived together before we were married. It was nice to see their home after a major addition. It is a beautiful home on the lake. We had a nice visit and played a couple of games of Five Crown which Cheri and Roger each won. We plan on getting together again sometime next week.

Gay August-3-09

We got closed up and on the road by 10:45 am, a beautiful day and no rain. We had only 100 miles to go today so we were in no hurry. We made a stop at Wal-Mart in Auburn to pick up my prescription and some groceries. We arrived at the Beaver Brook Campground in North Monmouth around 2:30 pm. We got a full hook up camp site with 50 amps of service. So Cheri has been busy doing laundry and cleaning. We had lobster and baked potato for supper. We took a walk this evening around the campground and took a couple pictures of the Beaver Brook that runs through the campground. There are so many trees that we weren’t able to get the satellite to work, but we have quit a few shows recorded so we watched them.

Cheri August-2-09

We were ready to head to the Fairgrounds for the flea market by 9:30 am. Sharleen and Robyn both found a purchase but Gay & I came away empty handed.
It is cooler today and looks like more rain. Gay loaded the motorcycle on the lift and Sharleen and I went to the Pizza Shed to pick up our pizza for lunch.
We all sat down for a few games of Five Crown. Gay won one and I won one. Next it was two games of 10,000 dice game. I won them both. I was lucky today!

Gay Aug-1-09

Well today is Cheri’s birthday, She is now ?? years young. Sharleen, Cheri and I left for the Indian Pow Wow in North Conway. It was very interesting with all the venders and the ceremonial dances they preformed. We did leave early to come back to Sharleen’s as the sun was very hot and no shade to stand in. Robyn and Sharleen surprised Cheri with lobster tails and birthday cake for dinner. This afternoon the girls went shopping and I worked on the light over the dinette and the light over the recliners. They stopped working yesterday. It appears to be an open in the wiring somewhere. I took all the lights apart and couldn’t find the problem. So I gave up and put everything back together and turned on the switch and the lights worked. What can I say, I know it won’t last. Late this afternoon we played the dice game and Cheri won two games and Sharleen won one. Poor me, I didn’t win any. We plan on playing some Five Crown this evening.
