Just before 5:00 am the temp was 74 degrees, and then it started to rain. By 8:00 am the rain was over and the wind blew in the cold front and the temp dropped to 54 degrees. The the temp topped out at 63 degrees this afternoon and when we went to bed this evening it was down to 49 degrees, fist cold day we have had in a couple of weeks. We left for church a little earlier because Cheri needed to redress Grandma’s arm and we had groceries to drop off at the church food pantry. After church six of us from our Life Group went out for lunch at Latin Twist CafĂ©. The food was very good and the portions were very large. Cheri and I should have split one meal, so we over eat once again. When we got home we hunkered down for the rest of the day. It was too cold and windy to be out. Besides the NASCAR race was on this afternoon. We did watch a couple of show before the race started and I was also recording it. Around 4:00 pm Larry and Denise showed up and we visited for a while and then decided to play one game of Hand, Knee and Foot. Well one game lead to two, the girls won the first one and we guys won the other one. After Larry and Denise left I sat down and watched the rest of the race and Cheri did some ironing. After the race we watched a couple of shows and called it a night.

Today was the big day for me; it is the day for my tandem jump. At 8:30 am we went over to see how Grandma was doing and she was still sleeping, we didn’t want to wake her so we left her a note that we would see her this afternoon. At 9:00 am we picked up Larry and Denise and then made a stop at Subway to get some subs to have after my jump. Pam met us at Subway and rode the rest of the way with us. Mike came down with a bad cold and could make it. We got to the airport at 10:30 am and my appointment wasn’t until 11:00 am. I sat down and filled out all the paper work and signed my life away in case anything happened. Bud and Gary came to watch me do my jump. A little later Ron also came to watch. Oh I didn’t tell you; it was a very windy day and after the first group went up there was a weather hold because of the wind. Finally around noon they lifted the weather hold and I took my training and was ready to go. As it turned out I didn’t get to go with this group because I signed up for the video and there weren’t enough video people for me to go. So I am ready to go with the next group and we are in another weather hold. They said to go and get some lunch and be back in an hour. Well we had our lunch with us for a picnic after I did my jump. After lunch they came and told us that all jumps for the rest of the day were canceled. So now I set to do the jump on March 17th. I am not sure why God didn’t want me to jump today but I am sure he will let me know. On the way home we stopped and bought some strawberries, $4.00 for a half a flat which is a good price and they were picked this morning. When we got home we checked on Grandma and Cheri replaced the bandage on her arm. Then we made a trip over to Saves A Lot to get some groceries for the church food pantry. We relaxed the rest of the afternoon and evening.

You ever have one of those days when you plans never turn out the way you had it planned? Well today was one for us. We had planned to leave this morning at 9:30 am with Larry and Denise on the motorcycles to a quilt show in Mt Dora. Well at 8:45 am the phone rang and it was Grandma saying she cut her arm on the night stand getting out of bed and wanted Cheri to come over and bandage it for her. So Cheri headed over to Grandma’s and I continued to get things ready to leave. Larry and Denise got here at 9:30 am and I was telling them what happened and about that time Cheri called and said that I needed to bring her purse and car keys as we needed to take Grandma to the emergency room and to meet her at a motor home just up the street from Grandma’s. I told Larry and Denise that we could go on the ride because of Grandma. Well when I got over by the motor home where I was suppose to meet Cheri there was a fire truck, an ambulance, and a sheriff’s car. As it turned out when Cheri went out to the van she heard someone calling for help, so she went up to the motor home and the lady said it was her husband. Cheri went inside and found him on the floor by the couch. He had passed away during the night and his wife found him when she got up. Cheri called 911 and had to stay and talk to the sheriff. Then we took Grandma to the emergency room, was very lucky as there was only one person waiting so we got right in. Grandma’s skin is very thin and she had pealed back a large portion of it on her arm. The doctor clean it up and glued it back together because stitches would not hold. We got her home and then went and picked up some antibiotics for her. As it turned out we still got to go to the quilt show with Larry and Denise on the motorcycles. The show was from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm and we arrived at the show at 2:30 pm. Cheri and Denise didn’t let any grass grow under their feet after they got there. They did manage to see everything before show closed but I think they liked to have had more time to enjoy it. We stopped at a Pizza Hut for supper on the way home for supper. The pizza was excellent as it has been a long time since we had pizza at Pizza Hut. We got home a little pass 7:30 pm.

Today was a work day, well most of the day. Larry came over with his motorcycle at 9:30 am and we changed the oil and filter along with general maintenance. When we got done with his, it was time to do the same thing to my bike along with installing an automatic primary chain tensioner. We didn’t get done until after 2:30 pm. While Larry and I were doing the bikes Cheri and Denise were working on the quilt project that they started the other day. After a very late lunch it was time to go for a ride. Larry, Denise, Cheri and I left at 3:00 pm and headed north to the Russell Stover Candies in Wildwood. We all tried different samples, Denise bought some candy and of course we had to have some of it as soon as we got out in the parking lot. Then we rode over to the 75 Chrome Shop to check out all the big truck chrome. Then we headed to McDonalds for some ice cream, no luck there as their ice cream machine was broke down. So we headed across the street to Burger King. Larry and Denise ordered strawberry sundaes and we ordered large chocolate shakes. They came back and said that they were out of strawberries. So Larry and Denise settled for M&M sundaes. When we got our shakes they didn’t look very big and Cheri asked them if they were large shakes and the guy said no. Cheri said well be paid for large shakes so he had to make them again. Never knew it was so hard to get ice cream. Will by the time we got done with the ice cream it was after 6:00 pm and time to head for home. It was after 7:00 pm when we got home. We had a voice mail from Grandma inviting us over to play cards this evening but we were too pooped from our ride.

Let’s see, today is a free day that happens every four years for us retired people and an extra day for the working people. I decided to use my free day to go for a motorcycle ride. Bud has a bad cold and Gary is having trouble with his arm so there were only three of us on the ride today. We headed north and east by way of some roads we haven’t traveled for a while and I even found a new road that we hadn’t been on before. We drove around a lake near Clermont that was very low as the boat docks were on dry ground. I haven’t noticed if other lakes are down or not, just looked strange to see boat docks with no water around them. We made our usual stop at McDonalds for lunch and then rode over to the Harley dealer in Clermont. I bought oil for the bike, Larry and I plan on servicing our bikes tomorrow. It was a perfect day for riding, starting out with some fog which made for wearing a light jacket and then the temp climbed to the low eighties. We rode only 120 miles and were home by 2:30 pm. Cheri and Denise were over to Dean and Betty’s doing a new quilt project, what they got done looks very nice. Cheri and Denise also went to pick up the two quit projects that Cheri had taken to the quilter. Boy they sure do look nice. So Cheri now has at least five quilt projects that she needs to finish. At 5:30 pm Mike and Pam picked us up to go out for supper at the Sunrise Eatery. After supper it was time to head over to Carolyn’s for our Life Group gathering. It was another interesting evening and another learning experience. It is so much fun learning more about Jesus and the Bible.
