It
was a play day. Five of us left at 10:00 am for a motorcycle ride to Ocala.
Cheri and Denise left the same time to go shopping. They were heading for Plant
City to visit the quilt shop, let’s see I guess it wasn’t just visit, it was to
buy some material. I am not sure where else they went or what time they got
home. We guys had a good ride and put on 171 miles. We made a stop in Wild Wood
at a used bike shop. Bud wanted to stop to check on a motorcycle trailer,
something to haul is bike back to New York in the spring. We were surprised on
how many used motorcycles they had for sale and some very good prices. Then we
headed to McDonalds for a late lunch and then to the Harley dealer. From there
we made a stop at the used bike parts place. Bud wanted a different gas cap for
his bike and they wanted $50 for one at the Harley dealer and he was able to
get a new a $15. Then it was time to head home, arriving around 4:30 pm. Cheri
and I were both tired and didn’t even talk much to each other. After supper we
watched a little TV and headed to bed early.
I see I got the wrong date on yesterdays blog.

When
Cheri got home from the pool we headed to Wal-Mart to get groceries and a few
other things. The place was packed with people, should have known better as all
the snow birds are here now. It was around 10:00 am a bad time to be there. We
will know better next time to go real early in the morning or late in the
evening. By the time we got back home it was time for lunch. I did have some
plans on what I was going to do today but knew I couldn’t do much because today
is Cheri’s quilt gathering and I knew Norm and Mike L would be here so I couldn’t
get much done. I did do some dreaming on how to put a closet in the kitchen for
our shoes and coats. That project is in the future as we first have to get the
washer and dryer in the house first. I showed Mike what I wanted to do and he
thought that would be a good idea. Cheri, Denise, Mary, and Marlene had a good
time working on their projects, also heard a lot of laughing coming from the
sewing room. After everyone left I took the Motorcycle over to Baker Acers to
se Lyn Green and let him know we would be riding tomorrow. He and Pat had made
a trade for a motor home and have been working on it so he said that he couldn’t
make the ride tomorrow. I see Bud was out cleaning his bike so I stopped to
visit for a bit. He had gotten new mufflers put on today and they sound good.
On the way home I stopped and fill the bike with gas so I would be ready for
our ride tomorrow. We had leftovers for supper, watched some TV and called it a
night.

It
was an overcast day and never did see the sun, but was still a nice day with
the temp in the low 70’s. We had a very productive day. As soon as Cheri
returned from the pool I started working on the van. Saturday I picked up a new
CV axel for the van and today was the day to get in put in. Larry and Denise
came over and Larry helped me. When we got done we took the old axel back to
Auto Zone and took the van for a ride, it did seem some better but still not to
my liking so we made a stop at Tire Kingdom where I had bought the new tires
back in June. I had them check the balance and rotate them. Now it drives much
better. Then Larry and I went over to Airport Auto to talk to them about the
oil leak that I still have but they were closed. It was after 1:00 pm before we
got back home. Cheri and Denise were working on a new quilt project and did
stop so we could have a late lunch. Larry and Denise are having trouble with
their washing machine, so Larry and I went over to their place to work on the
washing machine. We removed it and check everything out and couldn’t really
find anything out of place because it really shakes badly in the spin cycle.
Larry thought that it might have a broken spring but all was ok. Now we think
it might be the timer unit that is bad. Before we got it back together Cheri
and Denise showed up. Denise had a pot roast going in the crock pot for supper.
We played a game of Hand, Knee, and Foot while the potatoes and carrots where
cooking. After supper we played one more game of cards and then Cheri and I
headed for home.

Nikki
was up at 4:00 am and Cheri and I were up at 4:30 pm. We were on our way at
5:00 am to take Nikki to the airport. It was hard to say goodbye as we don’t
know when we will see her again. We were back home by 6:45 am and plenty of
time to get ready and go to church but we were just too tired and decided to
play hooky. Cheri did a couple loads of laundry and the second load didn’t spin
out. We rung them out by hand and I checked the washing machine and found out
that something broke in the transmission. We weren’t ready to buy a new machine
at this time. We planned on getting a new washer and dryer sometime next year
when we build a place in the house for them. Well I remembered that Mike L and
Mary got one given to them before they bought their new house. So we went and
talked to them and they gave us the washing machine, how nice is that. Mike L
helped load it into his truck and bring it over to our place and helped unload
it and put it in the shed. We moved the old one out onto the carport. I know someone
who will come and pick it for nothing. With that done it was back to resting
which didn’t last long because Larry and Denise came. They are having trouble
with their washing machine. It is in the wall above the toilet and needed to
build a platform to put over the toilet so he can slide it out to work on it.
He thinks that one of the springs has broken on the tub as it is out balance
when it spins. After we got the platform built we visited for a while before
they headed home. Then it was back to resting and watching TV. We are trying to
get caught up with the TV shows that we have recorded, having a hard time
staying awake to watch TV anymore. Nikki called at 1:30 pm and said that she
was in Milwaukee and that they were walking to the car, said that things went
well.

We
wanted to take Nikki to the flea Market so this morning we headed down to the
Big Top flea market. The one we went to in Zephyrhills on Tuesday was a bust
because it was raining and there weren’t many vendors. Well as it turned out
the Big Top wasn’t much better. It used to be a good flea market but it has
gone downhill, a lot of vacant booths. We came back home for lunch and then
went to see Betty and visited with her for a while and then over to Grandma’s
to play cards, also had Betty come over. We had fun playing cards and after
three games it was time to head home. Nikki said her goodbyes to Grandma
because it is her last day here. When we got home Cheri fixed us a hot ham
sandwich and potato salad for supper. We watched some TV and called it a night
early as we have to be up around 4:00 am to take Nikki to the airport in the
morning.
