Yea!
We get power today at Larry and Denise’s house so we can have air conditioning.
It has been so hot working in the house, been above 90 degrees in the house
while laying the new floor. We got started around 9:00 am, no electric so we
removed the rest of the carpet from the two bedrooms and made dump run. When we
got back we still didn’t have any power so we started the generator and went to
work. Cheri and Denise took the truck and delivered a twin bed mattress over to
Grandma’s so she could have a better bed than the one she has now. Then they
made a trip to Sam’s and got the new mattress for Larry and Denise. Plus they
did a lot of other errands. Larry and I took a break for lunch at 12:30 pm and
still no power. Long story short we worked until 5:00 pm and got the master
bedroom done and still no power. Denise called the power company to see why we
didn’t have the power today like they said we would. She was told that her
payment didn’t go through. Instead of calling her they just let it go. As it
turned out it was a mistake that the power company made and no apologies. So
maybe tomorrow we will have power. We played a couple games of cards that Cheri
and Denise won big time. All in all we got a lot done again today.

We
didn’t go to church this morning as we wanted to work on Larry and Denise’s
house because they don’t have many days that they can be in the US. It was
another hot day to work without air conditioning. We did have a good day as we
got the dining room and hallway done plus some of the old carpet out of the
spare bedroom. We didn’t get done until around 5:30 pm and still had to clean
up. Larry and I were really tired but felt better after a hot and relaxing
shower. Tomorrow we should have power at the house so we can work in a cool air
conditioned house. Cheri and Denise went
shopping again today looking for a new mattress which they found at Sam’s. I am
not sure what other shopping they did but managed to make a day of it. Cheri
made lasagna and garlic toast for supper which was very good. After supper we
played a couple of games of cards and then called it a night.

It
was a busy day for all of us today. Cheri and Denise run errands and also did
shopping for things to decorate the new house. They also took over some clothes
that Cheri bought for Grandma to see if she liked them and if they fit, didn’t
have very good luck as Cheri had to return most of what she had bought. Larry
and I started on removing the carpet and installing the new laminate flooring.
It was a very hot day plus they couldn’t get the electric turned on until
sometime Monday. So I took my generator over to use so we could have electric
to run the saws. Plus I took a box fan to move some air while we worked. Not
having air conditioning made for a very hot day of work. Cheri and Denise
brought us Subway sandwiches for lunch otherwise we only took one other break
for about ten minutes. Larry did all the laying of the floor and I did all the
cutting. We got all the carpet out of the Living room, dining room, and
hallway. By 5:00 pm we had the living room floor done. Boy does it ever look
nice. By the time we got things cleaned up it was close to 6:00 pm when we got
back home. Larry and I were both ready for a nice hot shower. After supper we
play a couple games of cards that Denise and Cheri won. We were tired from the
hard day’s work so we headed to bed early this evening.

First
I want to wish my wonderful and beautiful wife a happy birthday. There is
something that I have never been able to figure out about a woman age. When
Cheri and I got married I was just a few years older than her and now I am over
thirty years older than she is, maybe it that we men age faster. Cheri and I
were on the road at 7:00 am heading to Tampa for an appointment that I had. It
was noon before we got home and just after Larry and Denise got back from
closing on their new home, yes they have really bought a house. This afternoon
Cheri and Denise went shopping over to Beall’s. Larry and I haven’t figured out
what shopping at Beall’s (a clothing store) has to do with a new house. Larry
and I went and picked up the new laminate flooring. We had a truck load as
there were 59 boxes (780 square feet). It was near 5:00 pm before we got the
flooring unloaded and back home. Cheri and Denise came shortly after we did.
Then it was time to get ready and go out to eat for Cheri’s birthday. She
picked Cody’s over in Wesley Chapel as we had been there for our wedding anniversary
and was very good. But tonight was not good as all four of us had a very bad
meal. We were so disappointed because we had told Larry and Denise how good it
was. When we got home we played one game of Skip Bo and called it a night.

Larry
and Denise left at 7:30 am as they had an appointment with the realtor from the
first house that they had put an offer on and didn’t get the house. They had to
close the contract and get their money back. Then they went to see the house
that we did the house inspection on and close on it if that was the one they
wanted. Cheri was busy doing laundry and I went out to finish the spray
painting on the tool cabinet. Things went much better than it did yesterday. I
learned from the mistakes I made yesterday. I still needed to thin the paint
more but came out OK. Larry and Denise got back here just before noon. They
told us that they didn’t buy the house we had looked at for them as they
thought there would be too much work to get it where they would want it. But they
did find another one in the same park that they like and put an offer on it and
got it so tomorrow they are going to close on it. This afternoon we took a ride
down to St Pete to the furniture consignment store where they had bought the
table and chairs to see about putting it on consignment as they don’t want it
for this house. The store wanted 50 percent to resell it, so they decided to
keep it and also bought a large picture while we were there. Our next stop was
Brandon so Denise could take back towels and shower curtain that was the wrong
color for the new house. Then we headed to Plant City and stopped at Lowe’s to
check out hardwood flooring and didn’t find anything that they wanted. Then we
headed over to Lumber Liquidators and found the hardwood flooring they wanted.
They put a hold on it for them as they need to take measurements to see how
much they need. Then we headed to Lakeland to have a smoothie and sandwich at
Wawa. Pus we also stopped at Harbor Freight as we were going right by on the
way home. It was near 7:00 pm when we arrived home. We found a very beautiful wreath
hanging on our door. Pam had made it for Cheri’s birthday which is tomorrow. We
played one game of cards and called it a night.
