I was going to sleep in this morning then I remembered that I didn’t set the recyclables out last night and they always come around 6:30 am. So I got up at my usual time and got the recyclables set out, wouldn’t you know it they didn’t come until round 10:00 am. It was on the cold side again this morning and the weather report said rain and then turning colder. I had wanted to wash the car inside and out today. Around 11:00 am the sun came out and had warmed up enough that I did wash and detailed the car. It was a bigger job than I thought it would be. It was late afternoon when I got done. Cheri did what Cheri usually does on Wednesday, vacuuming and dusting, and Bible study for our Life Group this evening. We met Mike and Pam at Walgreens at 5:15 pm and rode with them to Wendy’s where we met Ron and Sandy for supper and a visit before going to Ron and Sandy’s for our Life Group gathering. It was another great evening with Life Group friends and learning Gods word. Our lesson this evening was about Rahab. We never did get the rain today but I did wake up around 1:00 am and it was raining pretty hard.

It was another 40 degree morning and then warmed slowly to around 64 degrees and was windy. I had to get around early again this morning as I had to pick Grandma up at 8:45 am for her out patient C-scan for her sinuses that she is having a problem with. Then it was a trip to the other end of the hospital for her bone density test. After all was said and done it was around 11:30 am when I got home. I had gotten a call from Ron this morning and was telling me they have an electrical problem. The electrical breaker for their sunroom and patio had tripped and not able to reset it. Ron thought it might be a weak breaker, so I took my collection of breakers and went to check out their problem. Well the problem wasn’t the breaker, after doing some isolation I found the problem is in the wiring on the patio. I disconnected the wiring to the patio so they could have power in the sunroom. I didn’t have time to dig into the problem and will go back next week to fix it. On the way home I stopped by Larry and Denise’s to see it they got the concrete for their driveway and patio poured. It was all done and the forms had been removed, looks really good, wish I would have had them do mine as it turned out pretty bad. When I got home I had an hour to rest before going to church for men’s night out. Cheri did her usual Tuesday house work and some more work on taxes as we got some of what we needed in the mail today. She also spent time reading and watching TV.

I was up a little earlier today as I had to have Grandma to the doctor’s office by 8:50 am for her fasting lab. So I didn’t get my exercise done until I got back home. We did some more work on taxes and still need a few things to come before we can finish them. When I was putting up the wall in the sunroom I knocked Cheri’s porcelain pelican off the cabinet and broke it. I felt really bad because I know Cheri really liked the pelican. So today I got out the glue and put Mr. Pelican back together again. This afternoon we went to Wesley Chapel to see the movie Black and White. It is a must see movie. It was pretty warm this morning and then by noon we got rain and the temp started going south for the rest of the day. I thought we might get a call from Home Depot on the kitchen cabinets or a call from the guy to give us an estimate on the carport, but nothing. That’s one thing I have found out about being in Florida people will make appointments with you and never show up and they don’t even call to tell you they can’t make it. Then I feel it time to look for another vendor but the same thing happens all over again.
Poor Mr. Pelican

Happy Mr. Pelican

Hard to believe we are in February already. Not sure where January went so fast. We picked up Grandma and took her to church with us. I had e-mailed Pastor Randy for his message notes and got a return e-mail telling me he was out of town spending today with his daughter who had a baby on Saturday. So Pastor Carl was going to deliver the message. Pastor Randy said that he would get in touch with Pastor Carl to see if he had message notes that Grandma could have to read. Well we didn’t get and answer from Pastor Carl. So it was a hard day for Grandma. The message was hard to follow and Cheri couldn’t really write anything for Grandma. Sunday school was really good, studied Nehemiah 7:1-8. It was just Grandma, Cheri and me for lunch today. So we thought that as long as it was just the three of us we would try to get into ABC Pizza for lunch. We did get the last booth so that was good that we didn’t have to wait. After we dropped Grandma off at home we went to Wal-Mart to get Grandma’s groceries and medicine. Being Sunday Wal-Mart was really busy. After all was said and done it was around 2:30 pm when we arrived home. I tried to do some Bible study but was tired and ended up taking a nap. Cheri was reading and playing on her I-Pad. After my nap we watched some TV and then got ready to watch the Super Bowl. Which I thought was a big disappointment; even the advertisement wasn’t that good. I didn’t care for the half time music but thought the lighting effects were great.

Cheri and I spent the morning with Bible study. We had our Sunday school lesson to go over, worked on our Life Group daily lesson, and did some reading and internet searching for our Thursday Bible Study Group. At 12:30 pm we picked up Larry and Denise and headed to Dade City for the Kumquat Festival. It is a one day event that draws over 40,000 people. This year it seemed like there were over 50,000. There are vendors lined up on all the streets downtown, if I was to guess there were somewhere around 300 selling anything and everything. Cheri and Denise shopped the vendors and Larry and I went to the car show. There had to be over 200 cars for the show. When we were done with the car show we sat by the court house and listened to a band play, it mainly to sit and rest while the girls were shopping. There were several bands playing in different areas. On the way home we stopped at a couple of second hand stores. Denise was looking for some special glasses for smoothies. She did find one glass and a quilt rack she bought. We went to Sonny’s Barbeque for supper and then back to Larry and Denise’s to play one game of cards. It was a great day spending time with God and friends.
