Happy forth to everyone, hope you all had a good time with family and friends. There was some wind with that shower we had yesterday and when Darren looked out back this morning he saw that there were a couple of limbs on the ground. So we got the chain saw out and cut them up and got them out by the road to be picked up. Last Nov when we were here Darren and I built a stand for the doors from his jeep. Well it needed to be wider for the doors to fit more easily. So that was the next job to work on. This time Darren took of a front door and back door to make sure that they would fit. This time they fit the way they should have when we built it the first time. After lunch I worked on the bedroom fan. It had a broken fan switch that I had tried to get fixed the last time we were here. Well this time I did get it working but it still isn’t right as the fan speed isn’t right. I ran out of time to work more on it as we were going over to Chris and Sheryl’s for visiting and supper. They also had other guest and most were in the pool. Being I am not a pool person I sat outside to visit for a while and then went in the house as it was just too hot. Chris fixed a wonderful meal of baby back ribs with all the trimmings. We got back to Darren and Brooke’s around 7:00 pm. We had some ice cream and watched some TV before calling it a night.

Brooke got a chance to get out of the house again today. So Grandma Cheri got to be in charge of taking care of Wyatt (happy grandma). Darren and I continued working on the sprinkler system. We ended up making a couple of trips to get additional materials. In fact we had to go to two different Home Depots in order to get everything we needed. On one of our trips we stopped at Publix’s to get some groceries so Cheri could made Lasagna for supper.  We repaired one sprinkler head and moved two more. The hardest part was the digging in the Georgia red clay as one head had to be moved forty feet. It was an all day job but finally got down around 4:00 pm. I was beat from working out in the sun and heat. The temp got up to 96 degrees today. Shortly after we got done we had about a ten minute shower which would have felt good while we were working. We couldn’t have gotten any wetter because of being all sweaty. After supper and around 7:00 pm Darren thought that we should have some ice cream so we headed off to Kroger’s to get some. Brooke wanted a turtle pie. So we got turtle pie and two other kinds of ice cream. So when we got back we had the turtle pie.

It was another busy day. Cheri and Brooke were busy taking care of Wyatt. Darren and I made a trip to the recycling center to get rid of a supply of cardboard he had. Then a stop at Home Depot to return the electrical materials we didn’t need. When we got back home it was time to work on the damage the carpenter bees had done under the eve of the house and a column in front of the house. This was something new for me as I had never heard of carpenter bees. What they do is bore into the wood to lay eggs. So you have all these holes. We sprayed them with an insecticide, then plugged the hole channels with steel wool and filled the hole with plastic wood. Later some sanding and painting will have to be done. Next it was time to work on the sprinkler system. There were three leaks in the system. Two of them were from broken sprinkler heads and the third was from a fitting that came apart. That met another trip to Home Depot to get repair parts. After fixing the fitting and one sprinkler head we check that zone and found that Darren had two additional sprinkler heads that he didn’t know about. We moved one of those as it was right under some of the shrubs and wasn’t able to spray out into the lawn. We also found the five different zone controls that are for the system. We still haven’t found the main water shut off for the system. It was 7:00 pm when we quit for the day. After pizza for supper and a nice hot shower I was ready to call it a day. It was 100 degrees working outside on the sprinkler system. It didn’t seem too bad as the humidity isn’t as bad as it is in Florida.

Ok where did the month of June go, seem like it was just the first of June a few days ago. It was a busy day at Darren and Brooke’s today. Brooke and Cheri busy with baby Wyatt. Darren was busy with work and I worked on installing the electrical outlets. The outlets were going on a wall in the garage and had planned on doing a surface mount. Well after fishing the wall from the attic to the electrical panel I figured maybe I could fish the wall where the outlets were going. Sure enough I was able to do it which met I had to make a trip back to Home Depot to get different materials. It was 3:00 pm when I got done and looks good. Darren was happy with the way it turned out. Darren showed me some problems he has with the lawn sprinkler system. We need to replace a couple of sprinkler heads and repair a leak from a broken pipe. Our project for tomorrow. Brooke got a chance to get out of the house and go and have lunch with her dad. Of course Cheri was happy because that met she was in charge of Wyatt. This evening we were invited over to Brooke’s parents for supper. It was the first time out for Wyatt. Everything went well and had a good time. It was around 9:00 pm when we got back to Darren and Brooke’s. A short time later Cheri and I headed for bed.

I was awake at 4:00 am this morning and couldn’t go back to sleep so I got up at 4:30 am. I guess I was thinking about the trip. Cheri was also awake so she got shortly after I did. We had planned on being on the road by 7:00 am. By being up earlier we were on the road by 6:20 am. We took a break around 9:30 am stopping for gas and a breakfast sandwich at Hardy’s. Traffic was light until we got into Atlanta where It slowed but continued moving OK. I think that it was after 12:00 pm and people were heading out for a long holiday weekend. We arrived at Darren and Brooke’s around 1:15 pm. Baby Wyatt was sleeping when we arrived but woke up a short time later for his feeding. Of course Cheri (grandma) was right there to pick him up as soon as he woke up. He won’t be a week old until tomorrow and he is already able to lift his head and tries to push up with his legs. When Darren got home he showed me a few things he wants me to do while I am here. He wants me to put in a dedicated outlet for his treadmill which means running electrical wire in the attic and fishing it down inside the wall. (My project for tomorrow) Later Darren and I went to get Cuban sandwiches and sides for supper. After supper Darren and I went to Home Depot to get the materials to do the electrical work. We were all tired and headed for bed at 9:30 pm. Darren and Brooke said that they haven’t been getting much sleep as they have to feed Wyatt every three hours.
