I didn’t have a lot going
on today and enjoyed it. I cleaned out the truck from Saturdays work. I went
over to Cousin Rick’s and installed the front door weather seal. Then I went to
Lowe’s to get the materials I need for a plumbing job I will be doing on
Wednesday. This afternoon I went to check out a kitchen counter top that a lady
wants to replace. I have an appointment with her on Monday morning to take her
to Lowe’s to help her pick out a counter top which will have to be built. Later
this afternoon I stopped by a lady’s house and she has several things she wants
done like putting up drapery rods, repair popcorn ceiling, hang a bug zapper, install
an electrical outlet, and repair some rain cutter leaks. From hearing about all
the problems she has had with other people I am not sure I can please her.
Cheri took Grandma for her doctor’s appointment which took up most of the
morning and didn’t get home until 11:30 am. For supper Cheri made hot German potato
salad long with hamburgers which was really good. I napped and watched some TV
while Cheri was reading her novel. Thank you God for the day you provided for
us.

It was a typical Sunday
for us as Grandma went to church with us and then Sunday school. We stayed
around after Sunday school visiting and were just about the last people to
leave. After we dropped Grandma off we stopped at Wawa so Cheri could have a chocolate
shake and me a peach smoothie. This afternoon Cheri got a call from Pam letting
us know they were home and that the offer they put on a new house was accepted
(good news). We also got a call from Larry and Denise as we had checked their house
here and I changed the temp to 83 degrees as I thought it smelled a little
musty in the house. Larry and I had a good visit on what they have done since
leaving Florida the summer. The rest of the afternoon was napping and watching
TV. This evening we had our usual pizza for supper. Thank you God for time
spent with good friends.

Cheri and I were at the
Sunrise Eatery at 6:45 am. We needed to be early as I had a 9:00 am appointment
over in Tampa Bay country to install the attic door. Cheri was out and about
this forenoon shopping and getting groceries for Grandma. Things went well for
the attic door install and was done by 11:15 am. I have an appointment to
install a new screen door on Monday but thought I would check it out while I was
in Tampa Bay country. It looked like it was going to be an easy job and as long
as they were home I decided to do it today. Well as it turned out the new door
was vinyl coated wood and was warped and wouldn’t fit in the opening. I told
them that the old door could be repaired and wouldn’t have to get a new one. They
are going to discuss it and let me know what they are going to do. I was back
home by 1:15 tired, sweaty, and ready for a shower. Cheri came home while I was
getting dressed. We had a late lunch and then we took a drive to check out two
more work projects. One lady wanted me to make the window grids in the patio
doors removable so it would be easier for her to wash the windows. Well after
checking it out, it isn’t posable because the grid is part of the frame that
holds the glass in. The next project we checked is building a 10 x 12 foot
patio from a kit that she is going to order. I had to check where she wants it
to see if it would fit in the spot where the old is. I will have to have help
with this project when it comes to installing the roof. On the way home we
stopped at Lowe’s as Cheri wanted to see what they have for rugs. She is
looking for a round rug to put in the sun room under the rocker. I also checked
out 10 foot step ladders as I have had a few jobs where it would have been
easier if I had one. From there we headed over to Harbor Freight to buy a 6
foot level. Cheri was going to fix hamburgers for supper but forgot to take the
hamburger out of the freezer. So we decided to eat supper at the Sunrise Eatery
as we were right next door. It was around 5:30 pm when we got home to settle in
for an evening of TV. Thank you God for the day you provided for us.

I was out the door at 6:10
am headed to Dade City for my accountability breakfast and Bible study. Today
we studied Acts chapter 26. This morning Cheri took Grandma for her doctor’s appointment.
She was also busy with the Friday laundry. I worked outside getting my shop
area cleaned up and the truck ready for today’s project. I installed a deadbolt
on the front door for Cousin Rick and also cut and spliced some plywood to
cover windows in case of a hurricane. I was also supposed to install a new
weather strip on the bottom of the door. I looked in Lowe’s for one and couldn’t
find one. So when I got done at Rick’s I went on to Home Depot and found the
right weather strip for the door. But was too tired to go back and install it
today. When I got home I restocked the truck and loaded the attic door that I will
be installing tomorrow. After supper we went to Wawa to have a shake for Cheri
and a free smoothie for me. I had a coupon for the free smoothie. We went to
Wawa earlier than we planned on because there were a lot of lighting and
thunder and could see a storm coming. But still got a little damp getting back
in the car. A little later after we were home I went out to the truck to get a note
pad and there was a beautiful rainbow from end to end across the sky. Thank you
God with ending the day with a beautiful rainbow.

It was a stay at home work
today. I finished getting the attic door built and ready for install on
Saturday. It was another hot day in the mid 90’s. I was going to do some
cleaning of the shop when I got done with the door but was tired, sweaty, and decided
the shop could wait until tomorrow morning when it’s not so hot. Cheri had a
busy day with Laundry, going grocery shopping, and made a quesadilla casserole
from a new recipe for supper. It was ok but nothing special. Cheri said that
she wouldn’t make it again. Late afternoon and evening we watched some movies
we recorded. Yes there was some napping done by both me and Cheri. We had rain
this evening and into the night. I check the rain gauge and we received another
½ inch. Thank you God for today.
