I started work a little
before 8:00 am on the bathroom project. I spent most of the day plastering,
hope to have that all done in the next couple of days. Cheri was up early to
get the laundry started and then went to church to help the other Sunday school
ladies pack shoe boxes with different items to be shipped overseas to young
children. The project is called “Operation Christmas Child”. We both got back
home at the same time. So Cheri went with me to Lakeland to pick up backer
board and shower pre pitch strips for the shower base. It was around 4:30 pm
when I got home. I thought I was going out to Ron and Sandy’s to cut a piece of
granite counter top behind the kitchen drop in stove. I called Ron to see about
doing the cutting this evening but they decided to get another drop in range.
Cheri fixed us pancakes for supper which is something we haven’t had in a
while. We settled in for an evening of TV watching the three new shows of
Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago PD which was a show with all three
linked together. Thank you God for guiding us today.

Cheri and I were at the
Hole and One donut shop a little after 7:00 am. We had our usual breakfast
sandwich, in fact the lady that waited on us ask us if we want the same
breakfast sandwich. The reason we went this morning was so we could pick up a
dozen and half of donuts to take with us to Dong and Judy’s this morning as we
are helping load two 26 foot U-Haul trucks. They have sold their house and
moving about 30 miles south to Valrico. We started loading the trucks at 9:00
am and didn’t get done until 4:30 pm. Cheri help clean the house as we cleared
out each room. After we got done Cheri and I headed to Home Depot so I could
order a door for the bathroom project. It was already near 6:00 pm so we
stopped at Jersey Mike’s for subs which we took home to eat. We watched some TV
while eating our Subs. After showering and getting cleaned up we got a video
call from Darren and got to see Wyatt, so much fun to see him running around
and all the different things he is doing now. We watched a little more TV and
called it a night as Cheri and I were really tired from work today. Thank you
God for being with us today.

I woke up at 2:00 am and
couldn’t go back to sleep as I had a lot on my mind. So I got up at 3:15 am.
When I got up that woke up Cheri and she couldn’t get back to sleep so she was
up around 4:30 am. I started back on the bathroom a little before 5:30 am. I
got the rest of the first coat of plaster on and a second coat on parts that I did
yesterday. Also had some that wasn’t dry. I came home around 9:30 am to check
out a video on how the shower floor drain had to be installed. Then back to
work on it and got it installed. I laid out the grid pieces for the drain
slope. I need some additional parts for that and will have to go to Lakeland
for them. I also went to Lowe’s for another pail of plaster and the sand mix
for the pre slope shower base. I was done and home by 2:30 pm. I showered and
got ready for Men’s Night Out at church. I headed to the recliner for a nap.
Cheri was already relaxing and reading along with napping. I did take a short nap
which made me feel better. At 5:15 pm I met Dick at Golden Corral to pick up
the food for Men’s Night Out. Instead of making something it was decided to
have the food prepared by Golden Corral which was nice as there wasn’t much
clean up afterwards. I was back home by 9:30 pm and Cheri was watching Dancing
with the Stars. I watched the rest of it with her before calling it a night. Thank
you God for a good day.

Another month gone and
September has gone down in the record books as the hottest September ever.
Looking forward and this week is supposed to be in the low 90’s. Never thought
I would say it but I am looking for some cooler weather. I continued working on
the bathroom project. I got the first coat of plaster on. I was done by 1:00 pm
and then watched some videos on how to install the shower base. I also made a
trip to Home Depot to return one of the medicine cabinets. When I took it out
of the box today I found a door that has some blemishes on it. Well they didn’t
have any more in stock so I will have to wait for a week which is ok as I don’t
need it right away. I also went back and worked on the ceiling where I have to
make a repair and spray with some popcorn mixture. It was 5:00 pm when I got
home. After my shower Cheri fixed me the leftover beef tips and noodles I had from
when we went out to eat with Mike and Pam. Cheri fixed herself some leftover swift
steak and mashed potatoes. We watched a new fall show called “God Friended Me”.
I think there could be a good story line here. Thank you God for helping us
through another day.

Pastor Randy always
e-mails me his message notes for Grandma when she attends church, that way she
can follow along and know what the message is about. After Sunday school we had
to remove all the dishes and food items out of the house as it is going to be
tented to get rid of the termite infestation that is in the house along with a
good spraying for other bugs. It was after 1:00 pm when we got home. Just in
time to get our clothes changed and head to the theater to see the 1:45 pm movie
Unbroken: Path to Redemption. It was an excellent movie and was the continuation
of Louis Zamperini life after he got out of the army and how he turned his life
over to God. When we got home I settled in to watch the NASCR race and Cheri
reading her novel. Later we had pizza for our evening meal along with more TV.
We watched the new show “Manifest” which could have a pretty good story line,
time will tell. Thank you God for a good a day with you and church friends.
