It started raining early
this morning and rained most of the day. I checked the gauge and we received
just over an inch. I had planned on going to Lowe’s today to pick up materials
for the cabinet I am going to make for Cheri but with the rain I couldn’t do
that. I did make a plan on how I want to build the cabinet. Cheri worked most
of the day in her sewing room, still working on the dragon fly quilt hanging.
She already has some more projects in mind that she wants to do and had me
order some fabric for her today. At 4:30 pm we met Mike and Pam at their place
and then went to look at a house that they are thinking about buying. If they
get the house they have a few things that they want me to do. After checking
out the house the four of us went to Dade City to have supper at Beef-O-Brady’s.
We had a good visit and was back home around 7:30 pm. We watched a few shows before
calling it a night. Thank you God for a good day.

I left the house at 6:15
am as I had an 8:00 am appointment for a c-scan on my lung to see if there is
any change. I won’t find out the results until next week. I was supposed to be
to be there a half hour before my appointment. Well I got in early and was back
home my 8:00 am and time to have coffee with Cheri. It was time to get back to
work on the bathroom barn door I made a few months ago. Cheri helped me get it
out to my work area so I could get the sanding done on it. Cheri wanted it to
be white washed, something I have never done before. I mixed one part paint to
two parts water. It came out to be the look that Cheri wanted. While the paint
was drying I went and got a new battery for the car. The last few times I
started the car I could tell the battery didn’t have the power it should have.
I got the new battery at Rural King which was much cheaper than other places I checked.
Cheri was busy with her Tuesday house work and also made chicken and dumplings
for supper. It was after 4:00 pm when I got the bathroom door rehung and now is
done. I was ready for the good hot shower as I was really sweaty from working
as it the temp was in the high 80’s and really high humidity. We also got more
rain late this afternoon and evening. I checked the rain gauge and we received another
inch. Thank you God for another wonderful day.

It was already 76 degrees
at 5:00 am and got hotter throughout the day with a couple of showers that didn’t
amount to anything. I hope everyone took time to pray for our veterans who died
fighting for our freedom this Memorial Day. Cheri and I had no plans for today
so we took our time getting around this morning. I watched the rest of the
NASCAR race that I had recorded. It was near 10:00 am before I had my shower
and got cleaned up. I did some computer work, filled the bird feeders, and cleaned
out the truck from the pumping job I did Saturday. The rest of the day was
spent watching some old movies we had recorded. Seem nice to do nothing today.

It was a rainy misty day.
We were supposed to get a lot of rain from the first named storm of the season “Alberto”.
Well here we only got a ½ inch, still it was miserable being out and about.
Grandma was going to church but canceled because of the rain. Church and Sunday
school were both good. This afternoon we played lazy watching movies and
reading, yes there were some napping involved. We had the usual Sunday pizza
for supper and then more TV. The NASCR race came on at 6:00 pm and I did watch
some of it but couldn’t stay awake for the whole race, will watch the rest of
it tomorrow. Thank you God for spending time with us today.

Cheri and I went out for
breakfast at the Sunrise Eatery this morning. I planned on working on the barn
door I build many months ago. It still needed to be sanded and painted. Well
while having breakfast I got a call from a person in our park telling me that
they had a water leak and wanted to know if I could fix it. They had the water
turned off and needed someone today. So after I got home I went and checked it
out. The leak was around an outside water faucet where the pipe came through
the concrete wall. A few days back he replaced the water faucet and I think he tightened
the new faucet too much and cracked the pipe. I had to crawl under the house to
check it out. I had to make a trip to Lowe’s for some additional materials.
While I was replacing the broken pipe it came apart in another place under the
house. Someone had done a really bad repair sometime before. So it took extra
time and materials to fix someone’s mistake. It was noon before I got home. I
was hot and sweaty and ready for a shower to get cleaned up. Needless to say I
was done for the day. Cheri spent the morning working in her sewing room. This
afternoon I napped while Cheri read her novel. I woke up around 2:30 pm and studied
the Sunday school lesson. We did have a few sprinkles this morning while I was
doing the leak repair and then more rain this evening. I checked the gauge and received
only a ¼ inch. Thank you God for a good day.
