When I got home from my walk
Cheri was already up and ready for me to help her with her sponge bath. So by
6:00 am she was in her recliner. Being I forgot yesterday to get the breakfast sandwich
and cinnamon roll from the Hole in One donut shop I went this morning and got
them. The cinnamon rolls had been just made and where still warm, nothing like
a really fresh made cinnamon roll. Because of the pain pills Cheri is taking
she does a lot of sleeping. I did stream the church service and Sunday school
lesson. Pastor Randy’s message was more on fault teachers and their destruction.
Our Sunday school lesson was titled “God Renews” from Isaiah 40:18-31. God
provides strength for those who trust in Him. This afternoon while watching TV
the unit that is removing the blood from Cheri’s knee went into an alarm. We
made a call and a young lady came and changed it. We normally have pizza
midafternoon but because of the blood unit we didn’t know if someone was coming
or if we would have to go in. So the pizza wasn’t ready until after 6:00 pm. I
watched the Bucks football game and was going to watch the NASCR race but was
rained out and will be on tomorrow at 10:00 am. Cheri went to bed early and
watched TV there while I was watched the football game. Thank you God for
taking care of us and being able to watch the church service and Sunday school
lesson.

Cheri had a pretty good day.
We got her meds set up so she was pretty much pain free today. She can’t do any
therapy until after she see the doctor on Monday. Need to make sure all the
bleeding has stopped. I did get out of the house to go and check on Steve and
Sue’s house as I thought when I walked by the other morning that there was a
light left on from the open house. But everything was ok and didn’t find any
light that was on. I fixed us a sandwich for lunch and then tried to do some
reading but couldn’t stay awake and did some napping this afternoon. Cheri was
doing a lot of napping as the meds make her very tired. Nikki called this
afternoon to check on Cheri. For supper I headed up more of the roast beef that
Rick and Janis bought us. I found a new show called Expedition Unknown. It was
pretty good so we watch several episodes. We went to bed early and watch some
more TV. Thank you God for getting Cheri through the day with less pain. Thank
you to everyone that is praying for her.

Cheri was up at 4:00 am, didn’t
sleep well. I skipped my morning walk as needed to help her get cleaned up. We
left here at 6:20 am as we had to be at the hospital by 7:15 am. We sat in the
surgery waiting room for 45 minutes before they came and got her for surgery
prep. She had to wait until 11:45 am before they took her in for the surgery. I
am not sure why we had to be so early as it was a long wait. I went back to the
waiting room and at 12:30 pm the doctor called and said everything went well
and wants to see her Monday. Cheri always has a bad time coming out of the anesthesia.
We always tell them that she has a problem but never helps. But today she came
through without being sick, the first time this has happen, really good news.
She was in a lot of pain and gave her a lot of pain medication. It was after
4:00 pm when we got home. By them the pain medication had kicked in and she was
pretty much out of it the rest of the evening. I had started laundry before we
left for the hospital and finished that this evening. I fixed some of Rick and Janis’s roast beef for
supper and she was able to eat that along with a piece of cake. She slept in
her recline until a little after 9:00 pm when I got her up and into bed. I
stayed up and watched the Badger football game and was 11:45 pm when I crawled
into bed. Thank you God for getting Cheri through the surgery and back home.
Thank you for all the prayers for us.

I didn’t have time to do the
blog yesterday morning so I will try to catch up. I was able to do my morning
walk. The new normal right now is to get Cheri up and help her get cleaned up
for the day. Then get her into her recliner. I fixed us eggs and bacon for
breakfast along with our morning coffee. I got a load of laundry going before
we left for Cheri’s doctor appointment at the Tampa Bay clinic. He told her
because of all the bleeding she has a hematoma from the blood thinners. Long
story short she has to go back in for surgery tomorrow to get it cleaned out.
It was around 2:00 pm when we got home. Later in the day cousin Rick and Janis brought
over roast beef with carrots, onions, and potatoes plus cake. We held off on
having it for supper as we had other food that needed to be eaten.

Cheri continues to be lightheaded and not able to walk very far. She had a doctor’s appointment at 10:30 am in Wesley Chapel. The good news is that she is no longer bleeding from where the drain tube was. But she is still bleeding around the stiches in the knee. The doctor put on a new bandage and she has to go back tomorrow. He also added an antibiotic for her to take. It was 12:30 pm when we got home. I fixed her lunch and got her settled in her recliner with the leg wraps and ice machine. I made a trip to the pharmacy to pick up the new medication. At 5:30 pm Sharon (church friend) brought us our evening dinner which was hot and ready to eat. We had shepherd’s pie, coleslaw, French bed, fresh fruit, and lemon cake. What a wonderful meal. Mike and Pam also brought us a tater tot casserole. Thank you Pam and Mike. It was after 7:00 pm before we were settled in to watch some TV. That didn’t last long as we were both exhausted and went to bed early and tried watching some more TV in bed. Thank you God for helping us through this day and all the friends helping and praying for us.
