Once again we were out for our morning walk before 6:00 am. Don’t know what’s up with getting up so early. It was a nice morning with a temp of 72 degrees and much lower humidity. The temp did top out at 89 degrees but didn’t seem that hot because of the lower humidity. It was so nice this morning that I worked on cleaning the motorcycle. I had gotten the wheels done a few days ago and now I have the front of the bike done. Maybe I can get it finished tomorrow. I also got the tire pressure monitors removed from the tires on the 5th wheel. I always remove them when we are here for the winter. That way the batteries in them don’t run down. We had to be over to Grandma’s this morning at 10:00 am as the therapist was coming and then again at 12:30 pm for the nurse. Grandma is still improving and has less pain each day and she is fixing her own meals now. Cheri made a call to the quilter to have her quilt done and can’t get in until early Oct. She was kind of bummed out about that. But already has started on another project. She is working on a wall hanging of humming birds and flowers. Darren and Jody had gotten us the season of Dexter on DVD last year for Christmas and we just finished watching it today. Was a good show with great story line.

I was the one that was up before 5:00 am this morning. I just woke up and couldn’t go back to sleep so after laying there for awhile I decided I might as well get up. Cheri got up a few minutes after I did so once again we were out doing our morning walk before 6:00 am. Normally we don’t walk on Sunday morning as we leave for church by 9:00 am and Cheri doesn’t like to be rushed. So there was no problem this morning with walking. On the way home from church we stopped to check on Grandma and she was doing ok. So we headed home for lunch. After lunch I did some honey dew jobs for Cheri. She had bought a couple of vinyl themes while we were up in Wisconsin. The first one went in the bed room and it says “Real Love Stories never have endings” and the one for the kitchen says “May all who enter as guests, leave as friends”. It was a big job putting them up, but look nice. I watched part of the NASCAR Race before we went over to Grandma’s to change her bandages and flush the stomach tube. Then we played a couple games of SOB. After supper we called each of the kids to see what they have been up to. It was nice talking to them and they are all well and doing exciting things. Then it was back to watching the race. By the time I got done watching the race it was time for bed. Yes we got more rain today.

Cheri got up at 5:00 am this morning, I heard her get up so I got up to see what was wrong. She said her legs were hurting her. So we were out for our morning walk before 6:00 am. It was 73 degrees out this morning making it the coolest time since we have been here in Florida. We went over to check on Grandma at 9:00 am and she was just getting up. She said she felt good. Being it was much cooler and over cast we decided to go for a motorcycle ride. Cheri finished putting together the front of her quilt that she is making and need material for the back. So our motorcycle ride took us to Dade City for a stop at the quilt shop. I waited outside reading my book while Cheri shopped. She didn’t have any luck there so off to Lakeland we went to another quilt store. As we went by Harbor Freight Cheri noticed that they were having a tent sale. After we got done with the next quilt shop where Cheri found what she wanted we stopped at Harbor Freight on our way home. I ended up buying an electric winch so I would have a spare for the motorcycle lift. It was a nice 64 mile ride but was up to 88 degrees by the time we got home around 1:30 pm. We had a late lunch and got a call from Rick Umbehaun. He just got in town from Wisconsin and wanted to know if it was ok to stop and see Grandma. So we walked over to Grandma’s and told her Rick was coming. That brought a big smile to her face. We had a very nice visit with Rick. After he left we got Grandma’s dressing changed and the tube flushed out. We will be doing the tube flushing for 6 more weeks and then she gets it removed. She will be happy when they take it out because it does bother her. We played a couple of games of SOB and Grandma won one and Cheri the other one.

We had to be over to Grandma’s at 10:00 am as the home care aid was coming to give Grandma a shower. Grandma said she was sick to her stomach this morning. We asked her if she took her nausea pill last night and she said no. So we made her take one this morning. While the aid was there we started a load of laundry and I worked on the ramp to the shed. We have had so much rain that the ramp had swelled up from the rain and couldn’t get the door open. I shaved off the high spot and now that job is done. I got all sweated up again. After the aid left we went back home so I could change clothes. Then we went to Wal-Mart to pick up Grandma’s medicine. Then back to her place to drop it off and put the clothes in the dryer. Then back home for an early lunch as the home nurse was coming at 12:15 pm. Just as the nurse was leaving the therapist came to work on Grandma’s walking. Grandma said she was short of breath so she didn’t do any walking. He did massage her legs and she liked that. He said the muscles in her legs were inflamed and shouldn’t be doing a lot of walking. After the therapist left Grandma wanted to go to the bank. It was after 4:00 pm before we got home. Cheri worked on her quilt and I got the grill out to grill up some brats and pork chops. We hadn’t had any rain all day, but right after I got the grill out it started to sprinkle. I ended up finishing the grilling in the rain.

After out morning walk we took our time getting around as we didn’t have to be over to Grandma’s early today. Cheri did a load of laundry and worked on her quilt. I was outside to dump the sewer tank and start cleaning the motorcycle. I got the motorcycle lift out and raised the motorcycle so I could clean the wheels. After I got the wheels done I was soak and wet from the high humidity. I decided that was enough outside for the day. I had to take another shower as I was wet all over. Cheri went over to see how Grandma was doing and she is coming along ok. We had to take her for a doctor appointment this afternoon. It was a follow up visit with the surgeon. He said everything looked good. When we got back to Grandma’s we changed her bandages and flushed the stomach tube. It was after 4:00 pm by the time we got home. After supper Cheri did some more work on her quilt. I read and watched some TV.

We got our morning walk in as it wasn’t as hot this morning only 74 degrees. Once again we had to be over to Grandma’s at 9:00 am as the physical therapist was coming to help Grandma with her upper body. We got back home around 10:30 am and I told Cheri I was going for a motorcycle ride. I rode up to Dade City to get my glasses adjusted. I was going to take a longer ride but it was threatening rain so I headed for home. I wasn’t home very long before it started to rain. Cheri had made a trip to Wal-Mart for Grandma and also stopped to get her hair cut. We met over to Grandma’s at 1:00 pm because the home nurse was coming to draw blood from Grandma and do her usual things. Then it was home for a while to have a late lunch. Cheri did some more work on her quilt and I glued the broken platform for her sewing machine. I had tried to glue it before with some other glue but didn’t work, so this time I used some surgical glue and looks like it will work. We went back to Grandma’s at 3:30 pm to play a couple of games of SOB with Grandma, Cheri won both games. Cheri and I are getting bored not being able to get out and about to see and do different things (cabin fever).

We had to be over to Grandma’s this morning by 9:00 am as the Home Aid lady was coming to give Grandma’s a bath and do some cleaning for her. Then at 10:00 am the Home Nurse came to check up on Grandma. So far everything is looking good. She still has some pain around the stomach tube. We couldn’t do anything outside today as it started raining at 9:00 am and was still raining when we went to bed. Cheri worked on her quilt some this afternoon while I read. At 2:30 pm we headed to the theater to see a movie. We saw Switched with Jennifer Aniston. It was a pretty good movie. After the movie we stopped to check in on Grandma and she was doing fine so we headed home for the evening.

The last two nights the police have been in the park keeping an eye on things to make sure we don’t have any more fires. We got our morning walk in before the sun came up which does help because it is just too hot to walk with the sun up and the high humidity. We had to be over to Grandma’s by 9:30 am as the home care aid came to assess Grandma and had her doing some low grade exercise. After she left Cheri and I headed out shopping for a new vacuum cleaner for Grandma. The one she has now must be 40 years old and we can’t get bags for it any longer so we decided it was time for a new one. We went to Wal-Mart here in Zephyrhills and found the one we wanted but they were out of them. So we checked up at Dade City Wal-Mart and found the one we wanted. We had to be back over to Grandma’s to pick her up at 1:30 pm for her doctor appointment. By the time we got Grandma home and her bandages changed, it was after 4:00 pm before we got home. I did steak on the grill for supper. Of course it had to rain when I was ready to do the grilling, although it didn’t last long. Then it was an evening of reading and watching TV.

We did our morning walk as we were going to late church this morning. We stopped by Grandma’s to check in to see how she was doing and she said she had a good night and felt good this morning. We had lunch at the church after the service. They had a membership meeting and we joined the Cypress Point Community Church today. We have attended for the last year and figured it was time to join. We didn’t get back to Grandma’s until after 2:00 pm. After we changed Grandma’s bandages Cheri fixed her something to eat. Then we played a couple of games of SOB. Grandma is catching on to the game and is enjoying it. Cheri won one game and I won the other one. We got home at 5:00 pm and Cheri is fixing the rest of the fish for supper. We had rain on and off most of the day, much cooler today with a high of 85 degrees.

postheadericon Gay Aug-21-10

Cheri and I walked this morning which is the first time since we arrived in Florida. It was only 78 degrees this morning and figured we could walk. Will when we got down on the lower end of the campground. We see another trailer burned only two sites from the one that burned Wednesday night which was determined to be arson. Now the police have more work to do. I hope this is the end of it. Cheri went over to help Grandma while I staked down the patio mat, aired up the tires on the bicycle and took pictures of the fire. Cheri took Grandma for a ride in the park so she could see what the fire had done. Then I went over to see how Grandma was. She once again had an upset stomach this morning. But after she ate breakfast she felt better. We got home around 11:00 am. Cheri worked on her quilt and I took a motorcycle ride (30 miles). It is the first time for a ride since we got here in Florida and I got wet doing it. At 2:00 pm we went back over to Grandma’s to change the dressing on her incisions and flush the tube into her stomach. After we got that done we played a game of SOB with Grandma which Cheri won (no surprise). Then Cheri fixed supper for Grandma before we came home. We got home a little be for 5:00 pm. Cheri fixed a nice supper of fried fish that was great. Then we settled in for the evening of TV. Of course I had to watch the NASCAR Race.

I had a little time this morning and got the patio mat out and laid down. I still have to stake it down. We went over to Grandma’s this morning to see how she was doing and she was sick to her stomach. We think it is from not eating enough before she goes to bed and wakes up on an empty stomach. We did some laundry and went to the grocery store to get some things she wanted to eat. Then home for lunch and then back to Grandma’s has the home nurse is coming at 1:00 pm. Then we had an hour to spare after she left because the therapist is coming between 3:00 and 4:00 pm. After all that there wasn’t any time for us to do anything. But with all the heat and humidity we can’t do much outside anyway. I did watch the NASCAR Race this evening and wasn’t very happy with the way it ended. When a driver intentionally wrecks the first place driver so he can win and admits it something is wrong.

You ever have one of those days when things never go as planned, well today was one of those for me. The first thing this morning Cheri and I went over to see Grandma. She was up and doing pretty good. Cheri made a bunch of calls to set up doctor appointments for next week. The home care nurse is supposed to come to day but not sure when. At 10:30 am Cheri had to leave to go to her quilt class and I was going home to start mowing the lawn. We told Grandma to call when the home nurse came so I could be there. When we went out to the car Cheri got a call that she would be there at 11:30 am. Well that was ok as I could get some of the lawn done before it got too hot. I got the lawn mower out and got it started but couldn’t keep it running. Tried again and it started and stopped. Tried again and the starter rope broke. So I pushed it aside and went in the trailer to get a drink of water. I checked e-mail and had an e-mail from my cousin in Wisconsin and wanted to know about the fire here in Baker Acres. Thought that was funny we hadn’t heard about any fire. About 3:00 am I heard a truck and looked out and saw the fire truck go by and didn’t think too much about it as they always come with the ambulance when they are called. I just figured that someone had called the ambulance. So after looking at the e-mail I got in the truck and took a ride around the campground and sure enough there had been a fire around 2:30 am. It was a bad fire and completely burned a trailer on lot 266 which is on the bottom end of the campground. I went back home and got the camera and walked down, when I got there the batteries in the camera were dead so walked back to the 5th wheel to get new batteries and on the way back down a lady told me that there had been a loud explosion around 2:45 am. It’s funny that I had to hear about the fire from my cousin in Wisconsin when it was only four blocks from our 5th wheel. I took pictures and then I had to hurry to get up to Grandma’s place to be there by 11:30 am. The nurse didn’t get there until noon. It was around 1:30 pm before she left. I left when she did and went down to the campground shop to get a lawn mower and back home with it. I got the lawn mowed and then got the weed eater out and did all the trimming. To make a long story short I got too much heat and ended up with heat stroke and was very sick. I thought I was going to pass out. I managed to get in the shower and get cooled down. Then I headed for the bed. Cheri came home from her quilt class about an hour later and I was still in bed. I got up then and was feeling much better but real tired. Cheri said she had a fun time at the quilt class and what she has done so far looks great. Cheri said she felt like having chipped beef on toast for supper. So I dropped her off at Grandma’s so she could fix her some soup for Grandmas supper while I went to the grocery store to get the dried beef. I asked at the meat counter and they looked at me like I was crazy, they had never heard of dried beef. So I went looking in the caned meet section and found it. So it was back to Grandma’s to pick up Cheri and then home for supper of chipped beef on toast. We had a high of 93 degrees and high humidity. We did get a rain storm around 4:00 pm with a lot of rain but only lasted about 20 minutes.

I have uploaded pictures of the fire, see album: Baker Acers Fire or click on this link. http://picasaweb.google.com/sharpstravels

Great news today! Grandma got to come home. We went over to the hospital this morning and waited for the doctor to come around. It was 1:00 pm before he came in. He checked her over and said that she could go home. It was 4:00 pm before we got all the papers signed and got her home. I took a prescription over to Wal-Mart to have filled for her and they said I could pick it up between 5:30 pm and 6:30 pm. So at 5:30 pm Cheri and I went back to Wal-Mart to pick up some groceries for her and her medicine. When we got back Cheri fixed her some supper for Grandma. Home health care will be coming tomorrow to check her vitals and change her dressing. It was 7:30 pm before we got home. We had another big rain storm come though this evening.

Grandma said she woke up sick to her stomach this morning. They think it was because of having the soft food from the day before. They said it was going to take a while for her stomach to get use to the new position it is in. Lunch and supper was ok for her. We can see improvement every day. She was up and walked twice today. I think she will come home tomorrow. This afternoon I took Cheri shopping for the material she wants for the new quilt. After a couple more stops she found what she wanted. She has signed up for a quilt class that will be on Thursday. On the way home we made another stop to see Grandma and was doing well. We had a hard rain storm come through this evening. I was surprised how dry the grass was, because we had rain two days ago. It was another 93 degree day. They said on TV that this is the hottest summer on record for Florida.

The first thing this morning I checked the air in the tires on Grandma’s van had to pump them up as they were all a little low on air pressure. We headed out to Dade City this morning to the quilt shop. Cheri is looking for some material to make a quilt. The quilt shop in Zephyrhills is having a quilt class that Cheri wants to take, but can’t find the material she wants. She didn’t find what she wanted in Dade City. Our next stop was the hospital to see Grandma. She looks good and is in good spirits. We got to talk to the doctor and he is very happy with her progress. He put her on soft foods and she ate a good meal for lunch. This afternoon we made a trip to Lakeland so Cheri could get the material she was looking for. We stopped at three different places and no luck. The class she wants to take starts Thursday so we don’t have much time to find the material she wants. We stopped back at the hospital to see Grandma and she was eating supper. She had quite a bit to eat and no problems with food coming back up. No rain today, but hot and humid, 94 degrees.

Not much to write about again today. We went to church this morning; it was good to get back to church as it has been a few weeks since we have been to church. After church we stopped at the hospital to see Grandma. She was sitting up in the chair and was having liquids today. She still has pain but is getting better each day. This afternoon they moved her out of ICU back to a regular room. We stopped by Grandma’s place and got everything cleaned up from the painting we did. Then home to read and watch the NASCAR Race. At 5:00 pm we went back to see Grandma again.

Cheri and I did some touch up painting over to Grandma’s before we went to see her. She is resting comfortably in ICU. She is in good spirits, as of this evening she hadn’t had anything to eat or drink. When we went to see her this afternoon they had her up sitting in a chair which was a good thing. I joked with her and she said don’t make me laugh because it hurts. We left at 4:30 pm to attend the pot luck at the park. After the pot luck and some visiting we went home and crashed for the evening. We didn’t have any rain today, the first time in seven days without rain.

It was a long day of waiting. Grandma’s surgery was scheduled for 11 am, then 1 pm then 2:15 and finally they took her in at 3 pm. It lasted for 1 hour. She did very well. The doctor put her stomach back in the correct place and repaired the hernia. He said over half of her stomach was up along her esophagus. He made 4 little incisions and one where the tube that was put in to anchor the stomach. She will be on liquids tomorrow and will start eating soft foods Sunday. He wants her up walking tonight if she feels like it or at least by tomorrow. They want her to be on solid foods before she will be able to go home. The doctor thinks she will be discharged either Monday or Tuesday. She will have a follow up appointment with Dr. Ferris in 1 week and the tube will come out within 2 months. The doctor checked and said there were no tumors or cancer. She is in ICU now so they can keep a close eye on her because of her age.

She is anxious to go home and be able to be back to her normal self.

Today we only had two rain storms come through, it is still very humid and a high of 93 degrees. Once again we spent most of the day at the hospital with Grandma. She has had all of her test and is ready for surgery tomorrow. We were over to Grandma’s place to check out a leak that she had. It was near top of the wall and ceiling in a closet. It was all dry and if it had been leaking it would be wet now with all the rain we have had. I think when I washed the trailer with the power washer this spring the water got in under the edge of the shingles. We will get some paint to cover up the stain and keep an eye on it.

We got more rain off and on most of the day. It is still humid and hot. I did some grilling this evening and it was 99 degrees. Not a good thing to be doing on a hot day in the sun. We spent most of the day at the hospital with Grandma. She is in good spirits and looking forward to having the surgery so she can get home and have things back to normal. She has to have one test tomorrow to see if her heart is strong enough to have the surgery. No other news today.

postheadericon Gay & Cheri Aug-10-10

Today was a repeat of yesterday, rain, humidity, but we did have a breeze that did help. I got the fuel filter changed in the truck and it is now running, glad that is done.

Well, when we went into the hospital this morning the doctor had been in to see Mom and said yes they would be doing the surgery. They said with the test they had done yesterday they found out she does not have a hiatal hernia but a par esophageal hernia. With the par esophageal hernia the gastro esophageal junction remains where it belongs, but part of the stomach is squeezed up into the chest beside the esophagus. That caused her to feel full all the time and have nausea because with the stomach at that angle it was hard for the stomach to empty properly. They have to do a heart evaluation tomorrow and if all goes well they said they could schedule her for surgery on Friday. She will just have 4 small incisions where they will be performing the microscopic surgery. She will have a tube put in that will anchor the stomach down and in 2 months if all stays put where it should be they will remove that.

She is in good spirits and wants the surgery so she can begin feeling better. Right now she eats very little, she is no longer running a fever and does get up to take short walks down the hall.

After the surgery she should be able to resume her normal schedule again.

More rain today, not has much as yesterday, still too hot and humid to do anything outside. We spent most of the day in the hospital with Grandma. They did another test on her and that was OK. We aren’t sure what’s going to be the next step. We did make a trip over to the other side of town to pay the bill to have Grandma’s air conditioner fixed and I got a tank of LP. I dropped Cheri off at the quilt store while I was getting the LP. Then we went to the Golden Corral for a late dinner and early supper. Then it was back to the 5th wheel. I went over to Grandma’s to get some e-mail address off of her computer as she wanted us to send an e-mail to her friends to let them know what was going on with her. We stopped down at the campground office to let them know we were back and to get our mail started. We went back to the hospital this evening for a while. We are slowly catching up on our sleep, maybe after another couple of days we should be good to go.

It rained on and off all day. We didn’t get up very early this morning, we both are so tired and with the heat and humidity it doesn’t help. We are using Grandma’s van and I wanted to move the truck today. It started and quit right away and wouldn’t start again. I had this happen once before a couple of years ago and it was the fuel filter that caused the problem. I bought a spare a couple of weeks ago, so when it stops raining I will change it and see if that fixes the problem. We went over to the hospital around 10:00 am to see Grandma. She looked better and seems to be more alert. She said the surgeon was in early this morning and she is to have another test tomorrow. We haven’t heard anything from the surgeon, guess he is waiting to see the results of the test. We left around 1:00 pm and went back home for some lunch. I watched the NASCAR Race and Cheri read. Around 4:00 pm we went back to the hospital. No other doctors had been in to see her. We stayed until 6:30 pm and then headed home to relax and ordered in pizza for supper. We went to bed early this evening.

We were on the road at 9:00 am and arrived 312 miles later in Zephyrhills around 3:00 pm. We drove through several hard rain storms and the last one was only 8 miles north of Zephyrhills. I figured we would have to set up in the rain, but when we got to Zephyrhills it hadn’t rained. We quickly got the 5th wheel setup with only a few sprinkles of rain. I was soaking and wet when I got done as it was 90 degrees and high humidity. I took a shower and felt much better after wards. Then we headed to the hospital to see Grandma. She was happy to see us and told us about her problems. She has a hiatal hernia and will need surgery to fix the problem. We will be talking to the doctor tomorrow who would be doing the surgery. We left the hospital at 7:30 pm and stopped to get a sandwich for supper. We both are very tired from helping Kari move and the trip down here. I sure we both will sleep well tonight.

We were on the road by 8:30 am and 523 miles later we are in Unadilla GA. We got to Southern Trails Campground at 5:45 pm. Traffic was good until we got to Atlanta where we encountered heavy traffic and lasted all the way to Macon GA. The temp when we pulled into the campground was 94 degrees. We drove though a couple of rain showers that lasted about 10 minutes each. Tomorrow will be another travel day and we should be in Zephyrhills FL by mid afternoon.

postheadericon Gay Aug-5-10

With all the rain we have had we had a hard time getting out of the campground this morning. I was sure we were going to get stuck. We had to back out of our site and then back up 100 yards around two turns to get turned around and headed in the right direction. With Cheri’s help on the two way radio things went well. We stopped in McHenry to have breakfast with Kari and it was 10:45 am by the time we were on the road. The traffic moved along pretty good until about 40 miles north of Louisville KY, where we were in a 45 minute backup because of an accident. We arrived at Grand-Ma’s RV Campground in Shepherdsville KY which is about 20 miles south of Louisville around 7:30 pm. We lost an hour as we are now on Eastern Time.

It started raining early this morning and did quit around 11:00 am. We were able to take our time getting around this morning as we were to meet up with Bart Turk and Lily Karl for lunch here in Woodstock at 11:30 am. It has been over a year since we have seen them. We only had a little over an hour as Lily had to be back at work. We headed over to Kari’s to do more work. We hung more pictures and finished the garage cleaning. Kari came home around 2:00 pm. Kari and I made one last trip to the Cary house to pickup clothes and some miscellanies things. It rained again while we were loading up. It did quit so we could unload without getting wet. We had potatoes and steak on the grill for supper. Kari had a staff meeting at 7:00 pm so we left and headed back to the 5th wheel. Cheri finished doing laundry that she started this morning we for we left. I put all my tools away getting ready to move tomorrow. We got a call that Grandma is in the hospital and not doing very well so we are heading back to Florida in the morning.

Kari had to work today so we arrived at Kari’s at 8:45 am as the new furniture is to be delivered between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm. The cable guy is supposed to be here between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm. Cheri continued unpacking boxes and putting things away. I hung a bunch of picture tiles on the wall in the dining room. Then I hauled in boxes from the garage and put them in the crawl space under the house. Kari came home about 11:00 am and said the furniture people called and would be here in a few minutes. She got a new dining room table, area rug for the living room and a chest of drawers for the bed room. We had lunch on the new table and Kari was ready to go back to work when the cable guy showed up. I worked out in the garage in the afternoon getting it cleaned up so Kari can get her quad and trailer tomorrow. It will be nice for her to have everything in one place. Kari got home around 6:30 pm and we showed her what we got done and what’s left to do. Kari took us to Nick’s Pizza place in Crystal Lake. It is my favorite pizza place in this area. It was almost 10:00 pm before we got home and went directly to bed. It was a long very hot day with near 100 % humidity.

It was 9:15 am before we got to Kari’s. Yah I know we should have gotten around earlier but the old bones don’t keep up with the mine. Cheri spent time unpacking books and other things. I made a trip to Home Depot to get some things I needed to complete some of the tasks. Kari had to work this morning and didn’t get home until around 1:00 pm. We got the spare bedroom done (I think). It was move this over there, no maybe it should be over here, no it doesn’t fit in this room, let’s put it in the office. It was a lot of work but had many laughs along the way. Cheri had put a pot roast in the crock pot this morning and had that for supper. It was 8:00 pm before we got home. We tried to watch a little TV before we went to bed. I think we napped more than we watched.

Happy birthday to my lovely wife and many more. We didn’t get going as soon as we were planning on, just too tired from the moving yesterday. We arrived at Kari’s at 9:30 am. Kari had a lot of things done when we got there. Cheri and Kari worked on washing and putting way dishes and other things in the kitchen. They also told Ian and me how and where set the furniture (try it here, let’s try it over here). It was an interesting day and we got a lot of things done. It’s beginning to look like home. This evening Kari took us to the Wilmot Stage Stop in Wilmot, WI for dinner to celebrate Cheri’s birthday. It has been in operation since 1848 and formerly the Wilmot Hotel. With this in mind the family, now in its seventh generation, has made every effort to show the respect due to the old structure. They are known for their baked potatoes with heaps of butter. We each had a Filet Mignon and a Lobster Tail with all the fixings. While we were eating we spotted Doug and Brenda Zemple sitting at the bar. We haven’t seen her for several years. I went to grade school with her mother and we are having lunch with her Wednesday. So we took a break from our dinner for a quick visit. After our dinner we went up stairs to visit the museum and gift shop. We have a few pictures. See album: Wilmot Stage Stop.

It started raining around 12:30 am and rained hard all night. We were up before 4:00 am and still raining. We were over to Kari’s (Volo) place by 6:00 am. Cheri stayed at Kari’s house (Volo) and started cleaning while Kari and I took a load of things to the new house (McHenry) on the river. Then we headed to the Cary house to meet the movers at 8:00 am. Kari and I had time to load up her SUV before the movers got there. After they got things loaded Kari and I lead them to the new house (McHenry) where they unloaded the truck which was about ¾ full. Then we lead the movers over to the (Volo) house where Cheri was getting the cleaning done. It was 1:00 pm by the time the movers had the truck loaded and it was full. I couldn’t believe one person could have so much stuff. We stopped on the way to the new house (McHenry) to get a sub at Subway. The movers also made a stop to get lunch. By the time the movers got the truck unloaded and left it was after 2:00 pm. Then we unloaded Kari’s SUV and our truck. Then Kari and Cheri went back to the Volo house and finished cleaning and came with one last load. I stayed at the new house (McHenry) putting together Kari’s king size bed and the desk in the office. I would guess that everyone is confused about all the houses. Kari and Jason lived in the house at Cary. They have been getting a divorce and so Kari moved out with some of her stuff to a condo in Volo. The divorce was final Thursday. So Kari found this very nice house (McHerny) on the river close to Camp Bow Wow. So we had to move all her stuff from two houses in to one. Well it should be clear as mud now. The rain quit at 8:00 am and turned out to be a very nice day. I was worry that the move would be in the rain. We had some left over lasagna that Cheri had made a few a days ago. We were back home by 8:00 pm. We thought we were tired last night but tonight we are supper tired. We were in bed by 8:30 pm looking for a good night’s sleep.
