When we went to pick up Cheri’s sewing machine last week the guy told us she should use only Janome bobbins so Cheri bought two boxes of them. Well when she tried them they wouldn’t work, the center hole was two big. So today Cheri, Denise, Larry, and I took a motorcycle ride to Lakeland to return them, we also took the sewing machine with us. When we got to the store one guy gave us a hard time and said that there was something wrong with our machine because he had sold 1000’s of them with no problems. So I went out and got our machine and brought it into the store to show him. After I showed him that they wouldn’t work he still wouldn’t believe it. Another guy came over which was the one that sold them to us and admitted that he couldn’t get the Janome bobbins and had ordered them from a third party. Needless to say we won’t be going back to that store again and we did get our money back. Then we headed for Plant City by way of all the back roads I could fine and what a nice ride it was. After the delicious strawberry short cake Denise bought some oranges to take home. We rode 92 miles and got home around 3:00 pm, it was time to rest for a while. Larry and Denise came up to play cards this evening. It was another fun day to spend with friends.

Cheri started her laundry early before we even went for our workout and walk this morning. She is a real go getter. I worked on cleaning the motorcycle early and worked on the computer before it was time for Larry and me to head out on a motorcycle ride. We headed north and made a stop at the Truck Chrome Shop to get some more chrome nut covers for the motorcycle. Then we work our way to Leesburg where we stopped for lunch at McDonalds and a stop at the Harley dealer. We didn’t buy anything but did compare prices and what is different between the Ultra Classic and the Limited. Not enough difference for the price. Maybe someday I can have one. It was after 5:00 pm when we got home. Cheri and Denise left to go shopping at 10:30 am and headed over to the Shops in Wiregrass. They also made a stop at the quilt store in Zephyrhills and got home just a little before Larry and me. I talked to Larry about Skype and how much they use it, so when I got home I set it up Skype on our computer and a short time later we got a call from Bill and Barb Mullen from Fox Lake Wisconsin. Sure was nice to see and talk to them. We had used Messenger before but Skype is much better. This evening we went down to Larry and Denise’s to play cards. We played two games, the girls won one and we guys also won. It was another great day in the neighborhood that God made for us.

I forgot to tell you yesterday that the new mattress is great. I thought it was going to be too hard, not the case as it feels hard when you lay on it but you soon settle in and have great back support. Cheri also likes it a lot. Cheri was really tired from our ride yesterday and slept in until 7:30 am. So we didn’t get our morning walk or workout done today. Bud called me around 8:00 am and said that he got up with a sore and stiff neck this morning and wouldn’t be going on a motorcycle ride today. So I called Larry and told him, so we decided to take Denise and Cheri for another motorcycle ride to a quilt shop in Hudson. We didn’t leave until noon. It was another perfect day for a ride. On the way back we stopped in Saint Jo for a late lunch and early supper. It was around 4:30 pm when we got home. At 6:00 pm Larry, Denise, Cheri and I left with the motorcycles and headed to church. Cheri and I volunteered to help stuff 600 bags with plastic eggs filled with toys and candy for Easter and Denise and Larry wanted to see our church and came along and helped. On the way home they stopped at Wal-Mart and Cheri and I stopped by Bud and Joyce’s to see how Bud was. He was feeling much better and had his bike loaded in the trailer for the trip back to New York. I was disappointed that we wouldn’t get another ride in this spring. We visited for a while and got home around 8:30 pm. We rode around 115 miles today. I have uploaded pictures from my sky diving that I did last Saturday. There are two albums to look at, Tandem Sky Dive and Gay Skydiving. The first one (Tandem Sky Dive) was taken by the guy that did my video. The second (Gay skydiving) was taken by Denise. She took all the pictures from the ground and got pictures of me coming out of the plane at 13,500 feet up. I couldn’t believe she could get great pictures being that far away. It was the first time she has done this with her new camera. Great job Denise and thanks for doing it for me. Check them out by clicking on this link http://picasaweb.google.com/sharpstravels and then clicking on the albums. I am still working on getting the video uploaded.

Today was a vacation day for us, I guess when you are retired you would think every day is a vacation day, not so. Some days you think about doing something constructive but not today. We got the motorcycle ready to go and along with Larry and Denise we rode south to Ellenton and then north up I-275 and made a stop at the rest area before we cross over the Sunshine Bridge, we took a few pictures there and then headed for the Gulf Coast. We rode up along the coast and stopped on the north side of Treasure Island for some shopping and a late lunch at The Hut for fish and chips. This is the third time we have had fish and chips with Larry and Denise, the other two times the fish and chips were not good and we had made a joke that we couldn’t have fish and chips with each other because it was bad. Well today the fish and chips were much better. We took a few pictures along the water and then decided to ride farther north to Pier 60 to check out all the vendors and watch the sunset. It was after 8:00 pm before we got back on the road and headed for home. We got home around 9:30 pm and had put on 185 miles. What a beautiful day it was for a ride. I have uploaded pictures of the day, click on the link http://picasaweb.google.com/sharpstravels then click on album: Gulf Coast Ride.

I am still not up to par and I skipped the walk and workout this morning. I had a 9:00 am appointment for my yearly physical, I explained my problem that I have been battling with the diarrhea and they think I may have parasite and so I had to take some stool samples into them. Otherwise I am good to go for another year. Cheri worked on some laundry and illustrating a children’s book that Nikki has written while waiting for our new mattress to be delivered at 10:00 am. Will it was after 11:00 am when I got home and no mattress. I had my phone turned off while I was in the doctor’s office and I forgot to turn it back on until I got home and when I did I had a voice mail from the mattress place wanting to know when they could deliver the mattress. I had it already set it up on Saturday that it would be delivered on Monday at 10:00 am. I guess their people don’t talk to each other. So I called them and got their voice mail and left message. Long story short they came at 11:30 am with the new mattress. It is a memory foamed mattress and I think it is going to be too hard, I guess we will find out tonight. After lunch I went over to Grandma’s and installed a new key board for her computer. I ordered one that had yellow keys with large letters and numbers on it so it would be easier for her to use. Later in the afternoon I went down to see Bud and made plans to for a motorcycle ride Wednesday. When I got home Larry was here talking to Cheri telling her about their week away. After supper we went down to their place to visit. Then back home to watch Dancing with the Stars. About half way through the show I fell asleep and decided to go to bed and let Cheri tell me the results in the morning.

I am still feeling a little under the weather, nothing really bad just really tired. We picked up Grandma and took her to church with us. They announced that we made $2100 on our church yard sale. After church we made a quick stop at Wal-Mart to pick up Grandma's medicine. Yep they finally had some for her although it was only a partial refill. We had to hurry around because we had company coming at 11:30 am. When we got home Pat and Roger were already here, the good thing was they had only been waiting a couple of minutes. So we headed over to Golden Coral for lunch, wanted get there before we had to stand in line. Well it turned out pretty good because there were only about six people in front of us. When we got back to our place Cheri showed them all the quilting projects she has been working on and I showed them my tandem ski dive. We visited for a while and then we showed them how to play Hand, Knee and Foot. They left around 4:00 pm because they had to be back in Parish for a concert at 7:00 pm. Cheri spent the rest of the day reading and I watched the NASCAR Race. We watched a few of shows that we had recorded and called it a night.

I wasn’t feeling up to par this morning and had a hard time doing the morning walk and workout. Actually I only did half of the walk. Cheri had a quilting class in Dade City today and had to be up there by 10:00 am. She wasn’t sure if she was going to get in the morning class or was going to have to wait for the afternoon class. One of the ladies that signed up hadn’t paid for the class so they told Cheri to come for the morning class and if the lady came and paid she would have to wait until the afternoon class. She did get into the morning class and was happy about that. I did nothing but lay around until noon. I left for the church at 12:30 pm to help put away the things that didn’t sell on the yard sale. There were a lot of things left over. And it took us until 4:00 pm to get everything put away. We were supposed to go up to Mike and Pam’s late this afternoon and I was going to recover their kitchen stools. It took me longer at church than I thought it would and I was very tired and dirty. I told Cheri to call Mike and Pam to let them know that we wouldn’t be coming. So a little later they stopped by to pick up the clothes that Cheri got at the yard sale yesterday for their grandchildern.

First of all I want to apologize to everyone about the You Tube sky diving video I uploaded. I was the only one that could see it. I will do some more checking to find out why it didn’t work. Cheri took Grandma for her doctor’s appointment and checked on her medicine and it still isn’t available. I went to the church yard sale to help out. We sold a lot of stuff; still have a lot of furniture for sale. The sale was over at 12:00 pm for the day, but we still had people coming in at 12:30 pm. I left and headed over to Ron and Sandy’s Green Acers. Ron’s truck was there but couldn’t find anyone around so I headed for home. I stopped by Bud and Joyce’s to tell him about the video and that I would bring it down this afternoon so he could see it. When I got home Cheri was working on getting the things together that she needs for her quilt class tomorrow. Then we went down to Bud and Joyce’s. We watched my video and also Bud’s video. We got home around 4:00 pm and I worked on the video for a while and got nowhere. I guess I am going to have to find someone to help me.

We had a busy day. We took the motorcycle and rode down to Lakeland to pick up Cheri’s sewing machine. They cleaned it and replaced the spring clip that fell out of it. Then we stopped on the way home at Sam’s to get some Hebrew National Hot Dogs. They are 100% kosher beef hotdogs and the best we ever had. We had them for the first time down at Brian and Linda’s and we had to get some for ourselves. When we got home and drop off the things we bought, headed over to Wal-Mart to pick up Grandma’s medicine which they told Cheri yesterday that it would be ready after 11:00 am. We were there at 12:30 pm and it still wasn’t in. So now we are suppose to call tomorrow before we go. We stopped by Grandma’s and told her the news and she said that she had enough to go through the week. We went back home and had a quick lunch and headed to church to help get things ready for the yard sale on Friday and Saturday. Once again they had a lot of things. We worked until 5:30 pm and then headed home. Our travels today totaled 90 miles. I started the grill to grill some hamburgers, pork chops, and a couple of the hotdogs we bought today. We settled in for an evening of TV. It was a wonderful day that God made for us and it was our job to please him. This evening I got my sky diving video uploaded to You Tube. The address is http://youtu.be/xj9CPap8D4Y Check it out.

Hey! Spring has sprung. But when I check the weather it looks like it has happen a few days early in the north. We also have had beautiful weather here in Florida. In fact we really need some rain, although it would interfere with the motorcycle riding. Bud, John, and I took a 130 mile ride up north of here and I actually fond a road that we hadn’t been on before. We did make a stop at the Harley dealer in Crystal River and then on our way home we stopped at McDonald’s for a late lunch. Cheri took Grandma for groceries, shopping and to have her hair cut. Grandma had called in one of her prescriptions and they said it would be ready after 11:00 am. Cheri stood in line for a long time and when she finally got to the pickup window they told her that they were out of that medicine and would have it tomorrow, I had an unhappy wife. Our Life Group met at the Village Inn for supper at 7:00 pm. Our Life Group leader is gone on a mission trip this week so we decided to eat out for the evening. Some of our group couldn’t make do to other commitments that came up at the last minute. We got home around 8:30 pm and settled in for an evening of TV.

I feel much better today than I did yesterday, but still tired. Right after our morning workout and walk we went over to Wal-Mart to get some groceries and to get ahead of the mad rush. So it was near 10:00 am before we were ready to face the rest of the world. We spent the rest of the morning getting our taxes ready to send to our accountant. Then we headed to the post office to get them mailed out. Then once again we checked on our mattress and are still getting the run around, now they say it will be delivered on Wednesday or Thursday. It was near 1:00 pm so we stopped at Arby’s for lunch as we had some coupons for free frees and drink. The sandwiches we had weren’t very good, made us remember why we hadn’t been there in over a year. After lunch we stopped at Staples as Cheri had some quilt patterns she wanted to get copies of. So I look around while she was doing that and I found some external speakers for our computer. I was always going to get some but never would remember when we were shopping to buy them. When we got home I worked outside raking and mowing the lawn. Cheri worked inside sorting material and getting her sewing supplies sorted, where the air conditioner was keeping her cool. I just finished up with the lawn when Cheri came out and said that Pam called and that they bought a new car and wanted to bring it over to show us and go out for supper. It took them longer then the thought it would at the dealer and didn’t get here until near 7:00 pm. They bought a new Toyota Prius Hybrid. It gets over 50 miles to the gallon. We went up to Dade City to eat at Franzoli Restaurant. We all had a Greek salad that was excellent. When we got back to our place Cheri show Mike and Pam her quilts now that she has them done. Well almost as she is still working on one. Of course I don’t think she will ever get done as she will be starting another project.

I was really tired this morning and my body hurts, thought that I was coming down with something. Cheri said she felt the same way. I think all of our fun is catching up with us. Our morning walk and workout was just about more than we could do. So long story short it took us until 10:00 am to get going. Cheri work on taxes and I helped her look for some papers she needed. We should be able to get everything in the mail tomorrow. At 1:00 pm we pick up Mike and Pam and headed to Dade City for a late lunch. When we got back to Mike and Pam’s I fixed their towel rack in their master bath room, it was attached to the glass shower door and needed some special double sided tape to fix it. Then it was time to play a couple of games of Hand, Knee and Foot. Pam and Cheri beat Mike and me so bad the first game I wasn’t sure if we should play another game. Well Mike and I won the next game by a large margin so it was a win for all of us. We played cards early so we could all sit down and watch the new season of Dancing with the Stars, looks like it is going to be a good season.

The forenoon was pretty much like most Sundays. We pick up Grandma and went to church and after church nine of us from our Life Group went out to eat at Chili’s in Zephyrhills. We picked the place here in Zephyrhills because Cheri and I had to be at the Rec Hall by 12:30 pm to set up chairs for the quilt show that was at 1:00 pm. Several of the ladies that had worked at the quilt gatherings that are held on Tuesdays were there to show the quilts that they have done or quilts in progress. Some of the ladies didn’t want to get up in front to show their quilts so Cheri and did it for them. After the quilt show we headed home to relax and watch the NASCAR Race. I should say I watched the race has Cheri read some and napped. This evening Paul and Bev came down to visit and say their goodbyes as they are leaving for Ontario in the morning.

Today was my big play day. At 9:00 am Larry & Denise, Bud, Mike & Pam with their two grandchildren, Cheri and I headed for the Mulberry airport for my tandem jump. I had a 10:00 am appointment and we arrived at 9:45 am, they got me suited up and went through a few things with me and the video guy (Robert) started taking pictures and video. By 10:10 am we were on the plane headed up to 13,500 feet. George (my tandem instructor) hooked us together and we were soon on our way out of the plane and on our way down. What a thrill it was and I am ready to do it again someday. Afterwards Bud, Mike & Pam with the grandchildren left and we waited for and watched my video which turned out good. Denise also took around 300 pictures. So I have a lot of good pictures to go through to make up an album. When I get some spare time I will put them together and post them. After we got done at the airport we headed to Lakeland to drop off Cheri’s sewing machine. A spring clip had fallen out of it and she wants to get it taken care of as she has a quilting class that she is taking next Saturday and wants to be sure the sewing machine is going to work. Then Larry, Denise, Cheri and I road over to the Harley dealer as Larry wanted to buy a couple of pieces of chrome for is bike. Cheri bought herself a Harley long sleeve t shirt. Then it was time to head over to Applebee’s for a late lunch. Larry had looked at chrome bolt caps for his bike and thought that they were too much at the Harley dealer. A guy told him about getting them at the big truck chrome store up by Ocala. So back on the bikes and the way we went. It was 4:30 pm when we got there. Larry found most of what he was looking for and I also bought some chrome bolt caps for the head bolts on my bike. It was near 5:30 pm before we got back on the road heading for home. We made one more stop in Dade City for an ice cream cone. We were going to ride on down to Plant City for the car show but it would have been too late, so we just headed for home. It was after 7:00 pm and 185 miles later when we got home. Larry and Denise downloaded the picture she took on their computer and then came up with their computer and burned a DVD of all the pictures she took today of my jump. We got out our digital picture frame, plugged in her camera card and watched the pictures while we played a game of Hand, Knee and Foot. It was a fun and exciting day for me.

Cheri and I went up to Paul and Bev’s this morning. I helped Paul take is scooter apart and get it loaded in the truck and ready for them to leave on Sunday or Monday for home back in Ontario. It is an old 1953Cushman Eagle. We had to take the front fork off in order for it to lie down in the back of the truck. Bev and Cheri visited while we were working on the scooter. After I got my tools put away Lloyd came over to show me is new video camera that he got to put on his model airplane. He should be able to take some neat videos. Paul also stopped by to thank me for helping him. Cheri worked on one of her quilt project this afternoon. I did some internet searching and then sat and read for a while and sorted out the information I picked up at Bike week. Larry and Denise came up around 4:00 pm and we visited and play a couple of games of Hand, Knee and Foot. We each won a game so we were all winners. We had planned on going for a motorcycle ride today but helping Paul with his scooter changed our plans. There will always be another day for motorcycle riding but maybe not a day to help a friend. It was another wonderful day in the neighborhood that God made for us.

After we got going this morning we went downtown to check on our new mattress and we should be getting it tomorrow or Monday. Then we made a stop at the auto parts store to pick up a brake light bulb for Grandma’s van, then over to Wal-Mart to get groceries. After we got home Larry came up and helped me get our single wheel trailer out of storage and put together. Our church is having a yard sale in a couple of weeks and I am going to donate it to the church. Cheri did some house cleaning and laundry. This afternoon we went for a motorcycle ride with Larry and Denise down to Lakeland. Larry wanted to check on getting new house batteries for their motor home. Then we rode over to where Cheri had bought her sewing machine to get a darning foot and some more bobbins. As we headed for home we stopped at McDonalds for ice cream. We visited there for a while and then Larry and I decided we wanted to stop at Harbor Freight and the girls said we could drop them off at Jo-Ann Fabrics. While Larry and I were in Harbor Freight it started to rain, so we had to do more shopping until it quit. The rain lasted only about 30 minutes and we were on our way to pick up the girls. It was near 7:30 pm and a 100 miles later before we got home. I felt good about the day as we got some work done and a motorcycle ride in.

I had a ride set up with the guys today that didn’t happen. I got a call from Bud this morning and they had a water line under the sink break and have water all over and so he wasn’t going to be able to go, Gary had to do some roof work on their park model. I did know that John wasn’t going but don’t remember what the reason was. Long story short I called Larry and told him the news and we decided to take Cheri and Denise to a quilt store in Crystal River that they hadn’t been to before. The nice thing about it was the Harley dealer was just down the road from the quilt store. So we dropped the girls off at the quilt store and we rode over to the Harley dealer, so we all got our fix for the day. After a couple of hours we went back and picked up the girls and then stopped just down the street at Applebee’s for late lunch and early supper. It was after 5:00 pm and a 150 miles later when we arrived home. At 6:40 pm we headed for our Life Group gathering. It was a great evening talking about the gift that God gave us and how we use it to help other people and to please God. After the gathering we had a wonderful dessert of bread pudding that Michele made. It was a beautiful day that God made for us to spend time with close friends and learn about the gift he has presented us.

We were up at 5:00 am getting ready to leave for Daytona at 8:00 am with Larry and Denise. We are going to spend the day at Bike Week. It is the first time for us and probably wouldn’t have gone if it weren’t for Larry and Denise. Larry’s brother Frank and his wife Jane also went with us. I lead going over and we made a couple of stops on the way and arrived at the Daytona race track around 11:00 am. We took in all the vendors; seeing many new things that we haven’t seen before. Sure was a lot of fun checking out the new toys. Larry checked on a new tire for Denise’s bike and found a good deal so while it was being installed the six up us went for supper at Ruby Tuesday which was just across the highway. After supper Frank, Jane, Cheri and I headed downtown and Larry and Denise went back to wait for the tire to be installed. After we were downtown for a while Denise called us and said the bike was done and wanted to know where we were. I gave them directions and we waited for 45 minutes and finally Denise called again and we were in a different location then Larry thought we were. We finally got together near the Harley dealer. Jane wasn’t feeling well so they headed on home. The rest of us spent some time checking some of the vendor’s downtown. We still hadn’t been down on the beach strip where a lot of the action was going on, it was already near 7:00 pm and thought we should head for home. It was a long ride home and did make a couple of stops along the way and arrived home a little pass 10:00 pm. It was a fun filled day and we put on 255 miles. As soon as we got home we crawled into bed to dream about all the new things that would be nice to have someday. I have uploaded pictures of the day, click on the link http://picasaweb.google.com/sharpstravels then click on album: Bike Week 2012.

This morning Cheri took Grandma down to the Rec Hall for breakfast. I couldn’t go as I had to go for blood work at 9:30 am and couldn’t have anything to eat until afterwards. It was 10:00 am when I got home and was ready for breakfast. Cheri had left me a note and had gone to get her hair cut. When she got home we sat down and paid some bills like vehicle insurance, road side emergency insurance and our Coast to Coast membership. Now we are ready to travel for another year. After lunch Larry and Denise stopped by on the motorcycle and wanted to know if we want to go for a ride over to Tarpon Springs. Of course we couldn’t turn that down so we were on the road and headed out by 1:30 pm. We did stop at the Harley dealer in Port Richey. Cheri and Denise both bought something and Larry and I didn’t get anything. Then we rode on to Tarpon Springs and had fish and chips at Captain Jack’s. Larry and Denise have been there before and said it was very good. Well that wasn’t the case today as none of us could eat the fish and had to send it back. They let us order something different. After our dining experience we walked down town to check on some fishing trips as Larry and Denise have friends and relatives coming down and they want to go fishing. Larry got some information from a couple of places. Cheri and Denise had to stop and shop in most of the shops along the main street. Then it was time to make the trip home. We made one stop for gas and then on home. It was around 7:30 pm when we pulled in the Baker Acers and just getting dark. We watched a little TV and called it a night.

I didn’t get up until 6:30 am do to the time change and Cheri didn’t get up until 8:30 am. We were both tired from being out in the sun and on the water yesterday. We got our things packed up and loaded in the van. After a short visit Brian and Linda it was time to say our goodbyes and head for home. On the way Cheri was using the new GPS to look for a place to have lunch on the way. She found a Mellow Mushroom pizza place and set a route to it. It was farther up the road then we thought and we were going to be going close to where Pat (Cheri’s lifelong girl friend) and Roger were spending the winter. They came down in January and we hadn’t got to see them so Cheri called them to see if they wanted to meet us for lunch at Woody’s River Roo. It turned out perfect as we all got there at the same time. We had the same thing for lunch that we had last Wednesday that wasn’t very good. Well today the food was fantastic. We visit for a while and then went over to where they are spending the winter. They have rented a very nice home in a 55 plus community. After a nice visit and plans to get together in two weeks it was time to head for home. We got home around 5:00 pm. About 6:00 pm Pam called and wanted us to come up to their place to play cards. We played one game of Hand, Knee and Foot that we guys won and then two games of SOB which Pam won. It was a wonderful day to spend with close friends.

After lounging around this morning, visiting and drinking coffee it was time to get ready for another day on the water. Brian, Linda, Cheri and I headed out on the boat at 10:30 am. We headed back to the same beach we were on yesterday. Lou and Judy could join us today as they had some other things that needed to be done. It was so nice just sitting around visiting and putting away a few beers and hotdogs. On our return trip Brian took us back a different way so we could see some of the some of the beautiful homes. All way out of our budget and we wouldn’t be happy with one anyway, just not our life style. After getting back to Brian and Linda’s we did some more relaxing and watching the sunset. Then it was time to go out for supper. We went down in Cape Coral to the Blue Coyote (yacht club), the food was excellent. It was a wonderful day God made for us. We were up a little before 5:00 am getting ready to go to Cape Coral to spend the weekend with Brian and Linda Rezny. They are our financial advisers and we try to get together once a year at their winter home. We needed to be at their place by 10:00 am. Another couple Lou and Judy who we had met back in 2006 were also there. At 10:30 am we loaded into Brian and Linda’s boat and headed out into the gulf to spend the day boating and beach combing. Our first stop was on an island beach where we visited and did some walking. Then it was time to get back in the boat and head to Barnacle Phil’s restaurant for lunch, it is also on an island that can only be reached by boat. After lunch we headed to another island beach to do some walking, beach combing looking for sea shells. Then it was time to head back to Brain and Linda’s. It was a wonderful day to be out on the water, the temp in the mid 80’s with lots of sun and fluffy clouds. After a couple of drinks and some snacks it was time to head to Punta Gorda for supper at Dean’s South of the Border Tex Mex Cantina, the food was great and we even had fried ice cream for dessert. They also had a band playing music which added to our evening. It was around 9:30 pm when we got back to Brian and Linda’s. After a little more visiting it was time to call it a day as we were tired from being up early. It was a wonderful day God made for us. It was another day that didn’t go as planned. We got a call from Cheri’s eye doctor telling us that the insurance company didn’t pay some of the bills. So I spent time on the computer downloading everything that was paid and we took it over to the doctor’s office and sat down with the insurance lady and went over everything and got things straightened out, we ended up owning an additional $76.00, glad that is done. Then we went over to Wal-Mart to get the oil changed in Grandma’s van and pick up a few things for her and us. We got back at Grandma’s at 12:45pm just in time for Cheri to take Grandma to the doctor’s office for her B12 shot. While she was gone I worked on the computer getting our new debit cards activated, I got mine done but couldn’t get Cheri done. When Cheri got home she had to call the bank to get some information, so she could get it activated. By the time we got done with all of this it was 1:30 pm and still hadn’t had lunch. After lunch Cheri work on her quilt project and I did some things getting ready for our weekend away. We went out for supper at a burger place called the Five Guy’s. We had been to one a few years ago and could remember how the burgers were. Well they were ok but too expensive for what you get. When we got home we started packing for the weekend when Larry called and wanted us to come down to play cards. We can’t turn down a game of cards so off we went to Larry and Denise’s. We played one game which the girls won and then headed home to finish our packing for the weekend. We are looking forward to a relaxing weekend with our financial adviser in Cape Corral.

This morning Cheri went over to check on Grandma and remove the bandage from her arm which is coming along pretty good they decided to leave the bandage off so it can get air and heal better. Larry, Denise, Cheri and I left on the motorcycles for a ride to the Ellington Outlet Mall to do some shopping. We stopped where the Roaring 20’s use to be. It was a pizza place with a large pipe organ that had over a 1000 pipes. Well the building is now a public library and the pipe organ is gone. They told us that it was moved to Jacksonville and will be installed in a tourist attraction. We rode on over to the Outlet Mall and checked out many of the stores and didn’t buy anything. Then we went over to Woody’s River Roo for a late lunch which was the reason for the ride. We wanted to have some good fish and we had been there before and it was some of the best we ever had. Well that wasn’t the case today; the fish came out greasy like the cooking oil wasn’t hot enough. If it was the first time we had been there we wouldn’t go back again. After we eat it was time to head for home. We made one stop along the way to rest a bit before the final push home. It was after 5:00 pm when we got home. It was a very windy day and made for a tough ride of 155 miles, all and all it was still a good ride. At 6:45 pm we left for our Life Group gathering. As usual it was another interesting evening learning what God can do for us. I always look forward to the gatherings as it helps me get though the week.

Today was motorcycle cleaning day. It has been awhile since I gave the motorcycle a good cleaning. I started on it around 9:30 am and Cheri went to work on her quilt projects. About 11:30 am Larry and Denise drove up in the truck and said that they were going to the quilt store in Dade City and wanted to know if we wanted to go. Of course Cheri was ready to go and I had the bike all apart cleaning and couldn’t go. I finally finished cleaning the bike around 3:00 pm and Cheri still wasn’t home. So I jumped on the bicycle and rode down to Bud’s to see about a motorcycle ride tomorrow. Well I see Cheri and Denise coming out of the Rec Hall, I forgot it was Tuesday and they had their quilt gathering today. I guess I had two Mondays this week. I went on down to Bud’s and he still isn’t feeling very good. He also said that John is sick; I guess there is something going around the park. When I got home I was ready to sit and relax with a drink. After supper I settled in to watch some TV while Cheri worked on the binding of her quilt. A little later Larry and Denise came up to see if we guys were going for a motorcycle ride tomorrow. Being the guys are sick Larry and I are going to take the girls for a ride out for lunch and some shopping. We played one game of Hand, Knee and Foot that we guys won. It was a little cool this morning but warmed up to be a very nice day with the temp in the mid 70’s.

It was 42 degrees this morning, needed a heaver jacket for our morning walk. Larry came at 9:30 am and we got right to work on the bedroom. We have ordered a new mattress and need to get rid of the old box springs. The box springs were the frame of the lift to get to the storage under the bed. So that met building a new frame for the mattress. After taking out the mattress and box springs we took the measurements and headed over to Lowe’s to get the materials we needed. We worked on it until 1:30 pm and then took a late lunch break. By 2:00 pm we were back at it and finished around 4:30 pm. Cheri worked all day putting the bindings on her quilt projects. Denise came up to see how Cheri was doing when Larry came back from lunch. She was also working on her quilt project. At 5:00 pm Cheri and I both felt we had done enough for the day. I took the van over to Grandma’s and to see how she was doing and I found her asleep in her chair, didn’t want to wake her so I left her mail and headed home. I received my new GPS in the mail today and was too tired to check it out.

Just before 5:00 am the temp was 74 degrees, and then it started to rain. By 8:00 am the rain was over and the wind blew in the cold front and the temp dropped to 54 degrees. The the temp topped out at 63 degrees this afternoon and when we went to bed this evening it was down to 49 degrees, fist cold day we have had in a couple of weeks. We left for church a little earlier because Cheri needed to redress Grandma’s arm and we had groceries to drop off at the church food pantry. After church six of us from our Life Group went out for lunch at Latin Twist CafĂ©. The food was very good and the portions were very large. Cheri and I should have split one meal, so we over eat once again. When we got home we hunkered down for the rest of the day. It was too cold and windy to be out. Besides the NASCAR race was on this afternoon. We did watch a couple of show before the race started and I was also recording it. Around 4:00 pm Larry and Denise showed up and we visited for a while and then decided to play one game of Hand, Knee and Foot. Well one game lead to two, the girls won the first one and we guys won the other one. After Larry and Denise left I sat down and watched the rest of the race and Cheri did some ironing. After the race we watched a couple of shows and called it a night.

Today was the big day for me; it is the day for my tandem jump. At 8:30 am we went over to see how Grandma was doing and she was still sleeping, we didn’t want to wake her so we left her a note that we would see her this afternoon. At 9:00 am we picked up Larry and Denise and then made a stop at Subway to get some subs to have after my jump. Pam met us at Subway and rode the rest of the way with us. Mike came down with a bad cold and could make it. We got to the airport at 10:30 am and my appointment wasn’t until 11:00 am. I sat down and filled out all the paper work and signed my life away in case anything happened. Bud and Gary came to watch me do my jump. A little later Ron also came to watch. Oh I didn’t tell you; it was a very windy day and after the first group went up there was a weather hold because of the wind. Finally around noon they lifted the weather hold and I took my training and was ready to go. As it turned out I didn’t get to go with this group because I signed up for the video and there weren’t enough video people for me to go. So I am ready to go with the next group and we are in another weather hold. They said to go and get some lunch and be back in an hour. Well we had our lunch with us for a picnic after I did my jump. After lunch they came and told us that all jumps for the rest of the day were canceled. So now I set to do the jump on March 17th. I am not sure why God didn’t want me to jump today but I am sure he will let me know. On the way home we stopped and bought some strawberries, $4.00 for a half a flat which is a good price and they were picked this morning. When we got home we checked on Grandma and Cheri replaced the bandage on her arm. Then we made a trip over to Saves A Lot to get some groceries for the church food pantry. We relaxed the rest of the afternoon and evening.

You ever have one of those days when you plans never turn out the way you had it planned? Well today was one for us. We had planned to leave this morning at 9:30 am with Larry and Denise on the motorcycles to a quilt show in Mt Dora. Well at 8:45 am the phone rang and it was Grandma saying she cut her arm on the night stand getting out of bed and wanted Cheri to come over and bandage it for her. So Cheri headed over to Grandma’s and I continued to get things ready to leave. Larry and Denise got here at 9:30 am and I was telling them what happened and about that time Cheri called and said that I needed to bring her purse and car keys as we needed to take Grandma to the emergency room and to meet her at a motor home just up the street from Grandma’s. I told Larry and Denise that we could go on the ride because of Grandma. Well when I got over by the motor home where I was suppose to meet Cheri there was a fire truck, an ambulance, and a sheriff’s car. As it turned out when Cheri went out to the van she heard someone calling for help, so she went up to the motor home and the lady said it was her husband. Cheri went inside and found him on the floor by the couch. He had passed away during the night and his wife found him when she got up. Cheri called 911 and had to stay and talk to the sheriff. Then we took Grandma to the emergency room, was very lucky as there was only one person waiting so we got right in. Grandma’s skin is very thin and she had pealed back a large portion of it on her arm. The doctor clean it up and glued it back together because stitches would not hold. We got her home and then went and picked up some antibiotics for her. As it turned out we still got to go to the quilt show with Larry and Denise on the motorcycles. The show was from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm and we arrived at the show at 2:30 pm. Cheri and Denise didn’t let any grass grow under their feet after they got there. They did manage to see everything before show closed but I think they liked to have had more time to enjoy it. We stopped at a Pizza Hut for supper on the way home for supper. The pizza was excellent as it has been a long time since we had pizza at Pizza Hut. We got home a little pass 7:30 pm.

Today was a work day, well most of the day. Larry came over with his motorcycle at 9:30 am and we changed the oil and filter along with general maintenance. When we got done with his, it was time to do the same thing to my bike along with installing an automatic primary chain tensioner. We didn’t get done until after 2:30 pm. While Larry and I were doing the bikes Cheri and Denise were working on the quilt project that they started the other day. After a very late lunch it was time to go for a ride. Larry, Denise, Cheri and I left at 3:00 pm and headed north to the Russell Stover Candies in Wildwood. We all tried different samples, Denise bought some candy and of course we had to have some of it as soon as we got out in the parking lot. Then we rode over to the 75 Chrome Shop to check out all the big truck chrome. Then we headed to McDonalds for some ice cream, no luck there as their ice cream machine was broke down. So we headed across the street to Burger King. Larry and Denise ordered strawberry sundaes and we ordered large chocolate shakes. They came back and said that they were out of strawberries. So Larry and Denise settled for M&M sundaes. When we got our shakes they didn’t look very big and Cheri asked them if they were large shakes and the guy said no. Cheri said well be paid for large shakes so he had to make them again. Never knew it was so hard to get ice cream. Will by the time we got done with the ice cream it was after 6:00 pm and time to head for home. It was after 7:00 pm when we got home. We had a voice mail from Grandma inviting us over to play cards this evening but we were too pooped from our ride.

Let’s see, today is a free day that happens every four years for us retired people and an extra day for the working people. I decided to use my free day to go for a motorcycle ride. Bud has a bad cold and Gary is having trouble with his arm so there were only three of us on the ride today. We headed north and east by way of some roads we haven’t traveled for a while and I even found a new road that we hadn’t been on before. We drove around a lake near Clermont that was very low as the boat docks were on dry ground. I haven’t noticed if other lakes are down or not, just looked strange to see boat docks with no water around them. We made our usual stop at McDonalds for lunch and then rode over to the Harley dealer in Clermont. I bought oil for the bike, Larry and I plan on servicing our bikes tomorrow. It was a perfect day for riding, starting out with some fog which made for wearing a light jacket and then the temp climbed to the low eighties. We rode only 120 miles and were home by 2:30 pm. Cheri and Denise were over to Dean and Betty’s doing a new quilt project, what they got done looks very nice. Cheri and Denise also went to pick up the two quit projects that Cheri had taken to the quilter. Boy they sure do look nice. So Cheri now has at least five quilt projects that she needs to finish. At 5:30 pm Mike and Pam picked us up to go out for supper at the Sunrise Eatery. After supper it was time to head over to Carolyn’s for our Life Group gathering. It was another interesting evening and another learning experience. It is so much fun learning more about Jesus and the Bible.
