Gay Dec-20-12

Some days things never go as planned and this was one of them, not that it makes that much different when you are retired. This morning we were out of milk and bread (forgot to get some yesterday) so I asked Cheri if she wanted to go out for breakfast and she jumped at the chance (maybe that’s why we didn’t have any milk). We went to Flaco’s cafĂ© and had their breakfast special of eggs, hash browns, sausage or bacon, toast, and coffee for $3.99. It doesn’t get any better than that. After breakfast we headed to the grocery store to load up on a lot of buy one get one free. After it was all said and done we supposedly saved $71.00. Now did we really save or are their groceries just too high. I think the store just do it to make you think you saved money and make you feel better. It was a little after noon when we got home. I checked the e-mail and Grandma had e-mail that she needed to have medicine picked up and one she got yesterday returned as it was for someone else. We also had to stop by the doctor’s office to pick up a prescription for her B-12 shot. For some reason they can’t get the medicine. So then off to Wal-Mart we go, turns out Wal-Mart doesn’t carry the B-12, so we had to go to CVS to get it. As it was going to take awhile for it to be ready we headed down town to take care of an insurance problem we had. It took us an hour there and still have a problem, our insurance agent has to send a letter to the company to see if they can get things straighten out. Then it was back to CVS to pick up the medicine. We used the drive through so we could get through faster. Will that didn’t work out as I gave them a 50 dollar bill which was an old one and it took them ten minutes to see if it was good or not. There have been some counterfeit 50 and 100 dollar bills floating around the area. Then it was back to the park to pick up Grandma and take her to the doctor to get the B-12 shot. We didn’t have an appointment and had to wait for her to get worked in. When we got home we crashed for a while before it was time to get the grill going to grill some T-Bone steaks for supper. This evening we went up to Paul and Bev’s to play domino. Bev and Cheri whipped Paul and me pretty bad in both games.
