I had some people ask me why we rented a car to go to Titusville yesterday. I figured that the truck gets 9 miles to the gallon and diesel at $4.20 per gallon. We could rent a car and have a nicer ride for about the same price as taking the truck. Yesterday we received the dash pod back from repair so that was my project this morning, got done just before noon. Pam called this morning and friends of theirs have a doll house that they have built for their granddaughter that Pam wanted us to see. It was amazing, couldn’t believe all the work that went into it. She said that she had over 2000 hours in building it. From there the four of us headed to Tampa for afternoon tea at the Milk & Honey Tea Room. What a neat place it was and we upgraded to High Tea. This is something I have never done before and what a fun experience it was. On the way home we stopped by a strip mall in Wesley Chapel where Pam and Cheri shopped. Mike and I did some walking. We did go into Old Navy where I bought a shirt. When we got back to Pam and Mikes, Pam want me to help her copy a CD. After some searching on her computer I decided to take the CD home with me to copy it. The towel bar on their shower door had come off and I had fixed it once before so I had taken some things along to fix it again but didn’t have the right stuff to do the job. Then it was time to play a game of Hand, Knee and Foot. I won’t tell you who won the game but Mike and I were very happy after the game. When we got home I told Cheri I forgot to bring the CD that Pam wanted copied, sorry Pam, maybe I can pick it up tomorrow.

I had a reservation for a rented car for today and had the pickup time set for 7:30 am. We wanted to get and early start to leave for Titusville to see friends from our 2008 Alaskan caravan trip. So we got to spend the day with 4 of the couples that went on the Alaskan trip. We Arrived at Bill and Lynda’s around 10:30 am. We had a nice visit with them and they showed us around there home as we didn’t get to see them last year. After lunch they took us around their park on their golf car to see some of the other RV home sites plus the RV pad sites that have an extra room built on the site. Then they took us to see the church and activity building. Everything is so nice and I can see why people like living there. It is a gated community and lots of activities going on every day. At 4:00 pm all the Alaskan group arrived and after some great visiting Bill and Lynda put on a barbeque with all the trimmings. We had a great time seeing everyone and before we knew it was time to head for home. It was 9:30 pm when we got home and very tired. I will return the rented car in the morning.

It was another warm morning at 62 degrees when I got up. It was just me doing the walk and workout this morning so I headed out at 6:15 am. Cheri did a load of laundry this morning and I took Grandma for her B-12 shot at 10:00 am and didn’t get in until 10:30 am. We got an e-mail that Larry and Denise got back from Ontario at 10:30 pm on Saturday and rested Sunday. They wanted to do something today and said we couldn’t go until the afternoon. So Larry and Denise picked us up at 12:30 pm and went to Dick’s over in Wesley Chapel. They had purchase to return. Then we headed to Sam’s Club for a few groceries. Cheri had seen an ad in the paper that Target had a patio set on sale, so we went to Target to check it out. Well they were all sold out which means that we weren’t suppose to have one. It was around 4:30 pm when we got home. I thought about playing cards this evening with Larry and Denise but Cheri put in a very bad night because of my snoring. It seems that when I sleep with the window open I do a lot of snoring. So I guess I need to keep the window closed. So we settled in for an evening of TV and early to bed as we have a big day tomorrow.

Not much change from last Sunday. We picked up Grandma a little earlier than usual as we had the yard sale left over’s to drop off for the church yard sale next month. Pastor Dean presented another great message about Are You Willing to Make a Difference. After church seven of us when to eat lunch in Dade City at the City Market Bistro which was new for us and we weren’t disappointed as it was very good and we will be going back again. It was 1:30 when we got home and the rest of the afternoon was spent watching the Daytona 500. Cheri is still icing the knee and I think she needs to go to the doctor but she thinks different.

I didn’t do my walk or workout this morning as we had to be ready to set things out for the yard sale. I started setting things out a little before 7:00 am and people where already coming by to see what we had for sale. It was a good day for the sale as it was warm when I got up with a temp at 64 degrees and warmed up to 83 for a high. The good thing was it was mostly cloudy for the morning. Pam and Mike stopped by for a short visit and to see how things were going. By 1:00 pm we were done and started packing up what was left to take to our church yard sale. I had told our neighbors what I was going to do with what was left over so they also brought what they had to our place for the church yard sale. I went and got Grandma’s van and loaded what was left so we can drop it off after church tomorrow. Cheri counted up the money and we made $203.35, not bad. Then we headed over to Wal-Mart to pick up Grandma’s medicine. When we got home we spent the rest of the day in the recliners. I had forgot to mention that we had fresh strawberry short cake the last two days from the strawberries we got at the flea market Thursday and plan on having more berries this evening for dinner. Life is good.

It was already 62 degrees when I got up this morning and quickly warmed to 84 degrees today, we also had high humidity. We run the air conditioner most of the day, we have had it on a few time for part of a day but nothing like today. Cheri is still icing the knee and resting it as much as she can. Cheri cleaned house this morning and I worked outside on pricing most of the still (treasures or junk) for the yard sale that is tomorrow. I also did a few other odd jobs that needed to be done. After lunch Cheri helped price the things that she has on the yard sale. The rest of the afternoon was just too hot and humid to be outside. So I did some computer work, more checking on truck and 5th wheel insurance. In fact I got a call from Good Sam as I had filled out a quote request on line a few days ago and it was almost twice as much as we are already paying so I just forgot about them. Will after talking to them and going there everything they can give me the same coverage we have now for half the price we are already paying. So I have contacted the agency that we have our insurance through now to see if they want to quote insurance from some other company. It is upsetting when an agency that you have been with for almost eight years isn’t checking for the best insurance for the price or maybe they are. We will have to wait and see.

It was 60 degrees when I got up this morning and turned into a nice sunny day with a high in the low 80’s. Cheri is still nursing her knee with ice; it is some better but still bothers her. At 9:30 am we stopped by Paul and Bev’s to see if they wanted to go to the flea market with us this morning. Paul said that he and his neighbor Ross were going to the annual car swap meet and car sale. Bev said she would go with us, so off we went to the flea market to get some strawberries and vegetables. Bev also found some other things she was looking for. Our next stop was CVS to pick up Grandma’s medicine. Then on to Wal-Mart to get a few groceries, yard sale price sticker, plus a lawn sprinkler. Bev also needed groceries so it worked out well for her also. It was lunch time when we got home. This afternoon Cheri worked on cleaning the strawberries and made biscuits for strawberry short cake. I worked outside mowing the lawn which is only the third time since November. Our neighbor was cleaning out his shed getting ready for the yard sale on Saturday and told me that he was going to mow lawn tomorrow and would mow our back yard. I told him I had bought a lawn sprinkler today and was going to sprinkle the lawn today. He handed me two lawn sprinklers and said that if they worked I could have one and return the one I bought today, well they worked perfect. There was something that I had wanted to do this afternoon and couldn’t remember what it was, so I continued with the weed eater trimming around the 5th wheel and shed. With that done I started the sprinkler on the lawn. When I came inside Cheri was icing down her knee, the walking at the flea market and Wal-Mart was too much for her. This evening we went up to Paul and Bev’s to play dominos. On the way up I remembered what it was I wanted to do this afternoon. The Twin Dual NASCAR races were this afternoon. Good thing I set up the DVR a couple of weeks ago to record them. Paul and I were the big winners tonight as we won both games. It was 11:00 pm when we got home. Cheri went to bed and I had to watch the NASCAR race that I recorded, it was 1:30 am before I crawled into bed. It was a very productive day.

It was cloudy this morning and going to be partly sunny, no chance of rain, and in the low 70’s. A perfect day for our motorcycle ride, right, then when I look outside why it is raining. Well it only lasted a few minutes. There still wasn’t any sun out at 10:00 am when we left for our ride. There were only four of us today as Larry is still in Canada, Bud and Lyn are both sick. I couldn’t find any new roads to travel on today as we made our way to Leesburg and our first stop was for lunch at McDonalds and the on to the Harley dealer. John found a bike he liked and talked to a salesman about trading. Butch also saw a bike he is interested in and is planning on going back to see about making a trade. Maybe I should get a commission from the dealer for bring them in. Our ride was 142 mile long and arrived home around 3:30 pm. When I left this morning Cheri was looking for a quilt pattern that she bought a few weeks ago. She was looking for it last night too and I guess she doesn’t know where she put it. When I got home she was working on taxes and getting them ready to send to our accountant. We could probably do them our selves but feel better having the accountant due them, peace of mine. Cheri still hasn’t found the quilt pattern. Tonight was our Life Group gathering; once again it was great learning Gods word and being with our Life Group. We only have one more gathering, hate to see it end for the season.

It was much warmer this morning and a beautiful day. Cheri put in a bad night because of my snoring and I know her knee isn’t good so I didn’t wait for her to get up this morning to walk and do my work out. Cheri did some laundry this morning and then has been going through patterns trying to figure out what quilt project she is going to do next. Her quilt gathering was this afternoon and she took some patterns with her and when she came home at 3:00 pm, I don’t think she knows what she is going to do. I worked most of the day in the shed and got all the tubs of tools and miscellaneous stuff that Darren gave me sorted out. Now I know what is going on the yard sale. The next step is for Cheri and me to start pricing everything. Cheri called Pam this morning to see about playing cards this evening, so we are going to meet Mike and Pam at Scotland Yards for wings 4:20 pm and then go over to their place to play Hand, Knee and Foot plus SOB. Cheri and Pam put the hurt on Mike and I the first hand and we never were able to recover, so another win for Cheri and Pam. We played two games of SOB and Pam and I were the winners. It was a wonderful evening spending time with friends.

It was supposed to get really cold so I left the water running a little, good thing that I did as it was 28 degrees this morning. I wasn’t sure whether I wanted to walk or not, but it wasn’t that bad as there wasn’t any wind. Cheri’s knee is still bothering her so she didn’t go this morning; she is still icing it down during the day. I wasn’t in any hurry to go out to do anything, decided to wait until it warmed up. When it did I went out and put our lot number on the shed below our address and name. Years ago it was part of the address and then they didn’t want us using it anymore and now they want it displayed. I guess life would be pretty boring without change. I had mentioned before that the speedometer in the truck didn’t work right along with the fuel gage, voltage gage, and oil pressure gage. So this afternoon I removed it from the truck which wasn’t as big a job as I thought it would be. I found a place in Lacrosse Wisconsin that will rebuild it for $125. The Chevrolet and GMC dealers want $600 plus installation. I took it to a postal place, got it boxed up and sent out by FedEx with insurance for $28. Cheri worked on her quilt and finished it late this afternoon. I will take a picture of it and post it tomorrow. Being it was cold this morning Cheri made a pot of cheesy potato soup for lunch and soup dinner. We also got a call from Pat and Roger and have made plans to go and see them in a couple of weeks (maybe a motorcycle trip).

38 degrees this morning and only 55 for a high with some wind, not a good day for us old people here in Florida. It is supposed to be colder tonight. I walked up early to Grandma’s to get the car started and warmed up before we left for church, then back to pick up Cheri. Pastor Dean’s message this week was How to Become a Person of the Word. I never get tired of hearing Dean’s messages. After church nine of us went to Golden Corral for lunch. We were there last Sunday for lunch and again on Friday and now today, I think we are just about on first name bases with the waitress. When we got home it was too cold to be outside (good excuse for being lazy). So Cheri worked on her quilt while I watched basket ball. Wisconsin against Ohio, Wisconsin played a great game and won. It has been years since I have watched any basket ball, not much of a basket ball fan but it was on when I turned on the TV and must admit I did enjoy it. After the game Cheri had done enough with the quilt so we settled in to watch a couple of Western movies.

Cheri hasn’t gone for our walk and work out the last two morning as her knee is bothering her. She has been icing it down and also using heat on it. She says it feels some better today. Cheri continued working on her quilt today and I worked out in the shed, I can see where I am starting to make some headway. At lunch time Cheri wanted to know if I want to go to a movie this afternoon. I asked her what the movie was and she said it is Safe Haven. It is a romance/drama, not sure I wanted to go but when she said that Julianne Hough from Dancing with the Stars was in it I was ready to go. I must say we enjoyed the movie very much and was done in good taste. So if you want to see a feel good movie this is the one to see. After the movie we went to Lowe’s to get what I needed to lock up our gas grill. A few nights ago a golf cart was stolen from our park and last night they tried to get another one. It seems like every year we lose one or two golf carts. We settled in for an evening of TV. We watched a couple of shows we had recorded and then at 8:00 pm I tuned in the first NASCAR race for the season.

Cool morning and only got to the low 60’s today, we did get some sun late morning and afternoon. We didn’t do much this morning as we had company coming for the day, Jim and Jeanette Frey. They are friends that go back 50 years and we see them once a year. They come to Florida for a month and stay in the Fort Myers area. So they have a long drive to get here and were going to be here sometime between 11:00 and 11:30. They arrived at noon and said the traffic was really bad. We met them at Grandma’s and after a shot visit we all went over to Golden Corral for lunch and then back to Grandma’s to drop her off and then we went to our place. Jeanette wanted to see the quilts that Cheri has done and is working on. Jim was interested in my Bike Barn and wanted to see it. We also show them some pictures of our Alaskan trip we took last fall. Then we went back to Grandma’s to continue our visit with her. Jim and Jeanette left a little after 5:00 pm and Cheri and headed back to the 5th wheel to settle in for the evening. It was a fun day visiting old friends and catching up.

Forty six years ago today I asked a beautiful and loving young lady to marry me and she said yes, thank you Cheri for being my best friend and lover. It was cool and rainy all day and my back is still not feeling the best, hard to get excited about doing anything. I did post a couple things I want to sell on Craigslist. One of the items was a motorcycle seat off of our bike and a short time later I received an e-mail from a guy that was interested so I called him and he said that he would talk to his wife and call me back between 3:30 pm and 4:30 pm. Well I never got a call back, his wife must have said no. Cheri worked all day on her quilt, I think she will have it done in a couple of more days, but what do I know. I did work out in the shed for a couple of hours and decided I needed some small see through containers to put thing in, that way I can see and fine what I am looking for in the future. This evening Paul & Bev, Cheri and I went out for dinner at Longhorn Steak House in Lakeland. We have done this the last four years and this year Bev’s and my steak wasn’t very good, mine had a lot of tendon in it. I told our waiter about it and he talked to the manager and they were nice enough to take it off of our bill. You can get a bad steak once in a while and when the establishment takes care of you know you will go back again. When we got home Cheri and I went over to Wal-Mart to get the containers I want for the shed and a few groceries.

I got up this morning with back pain, think it from moving the big tubs around in the shed and all the sorting which made for a lot of bending over. So I decided to take it a little easier today. Cheri worked on her quilt today. I did do a little sorting and putting things away in the shed. I still got a few days of getting everything sorted and put away, and then I will have to learn where I put things. Today was supposed to be our motorcycle ride day but I cancelled it as there was a 70 % chance of rain, probably a good thing as I am not sure that my back could take the ride. This afternoon we walked up to visit with Lloyd and Loraine. Before we moved to this site they were our next door neighbors and haven’ seen much of them. It turned out to be a hot and windy day with a temp in the mid 80’s. Cheri had steak out for me to grill tonight for supper and the rain started when I was about half done grilling, only needed another five minutes. The rain came down really hard and I got soaked.

We got all of our morning routine done and were ready to start on the shed when Marlene and Norm stopped by for a visit before they left Ed stopped by for a short visit. Cheri started a load of laundry early this morning and was getting it ready to hang it out when Arlene came over for a visit. It is so nice to have friends stop by to visit. So all we got done by 11:00 am was getting the shed door open. Cheri got the clothes hung on the line and I got out the tubs that she had to go through. Cheri had a hard time getting rid of some of the stuff that she had stored, she did a good job getting things set aside for the yard sale. I still have to go through all of my stuff. It was getting pretty hot outside and decided to wait until tomorrow for me to do my thing. We had a very late lunch and decided to take a motorcycle ride down to Tampa so I could make an eye appointment with the VA. On the way back we made a quick stop at Publix’s to pick up some milk and butter. It was a short 52 mile ride but felt good. This evening we played dominos with Paul and Bev. Cheri and Bev won the first game by a large margin and Paul and I pulled out the last game for a win.

Our plans for the day changed again. Grandma had a doctor’s appointment this morning at 10:00 am. We were planning on working on getting things out of the shed and sort though them to find the stuff we want to put on the yard sale. Well Pam called and wanted to know if we wanted to go to Madeira Beach today. Let’s see work in the shed or go to the beach, not much to think about there, Yea! We are going to the beach and shopping. Cheri told Pam that I had to take Grandma for her doctor’s appointment and would be ready to leave at 11:00 am. Well at 11:10 am we were still waiting to see the doctor. I finally got home at 11:40 am and Mike and Pam were here waiting for me. We stopped and eat at The Conch Grill and Raw Bar, neat atmosphere and good food. Then we headed on down to Madeira Beach so Pam and Cheri could shop while Mike and I walked and visited. After shopping we headed over to the beach to watch the sunset, what a beautiful sunset. What a beautiful day God made for us to spend with close friends, thanks Mike and Pam.

This Sunday was no different than other Sundays. We Picked up Grandma at 9:00 am and headed to church and heard another wonderful message from pastor Dean. We are still studying the 40 Days in the Word. It has certainly helped me in reading and understanding the Bible. After church five of us went to Golden Corral for lunch. I love going to Golden Corral to eat but we try not to go very often because we always eat too much. I just have no willpower when it comes to eating. This afternoon Cheri and I were very lazy, just sitting watching TV and napping. I find my age is catching up with me as I don’t have the energy to do as much anymore. Weather wise it was another beautiful day with a high in the low 80’s.

It was another fun filled day. This morning we got to relax once again as our rally day didn’t start until 1:00 pm at Parkesdale Farm Market where we met some of our 2008 and 2012 tour groups for strawberry short cake. This has gotten to be a yearly event for our 2008 tour group and now we have it started with our 2012 tour group. When we got to the rally we went to see Johnny and Paulette at their motor home. We got to see Johnny’s Speedster that he built. He was working on it last year when we were at the rally. About a month ago he added battery power to it so he can get around the hilly streets where they live. Johnny took Ron and me for a ride and Paulette took Mary Jo and Cheri for a ride. After a visit with them it was time to go up to the rally event and visit with some of the other people that were there. We talked to people that were guest wanting to know more about the caravan and people that are signed up for this year wanting to know what to bring and what all they were going to see. This evening we enjoyed a dinner of barbecue spare ribs and chicken. After dinner Spike gave us a history of his life and how he got started doing caravans to Alaska, a very interesting story. Before we knew it, it was time to say our goodbyes and plans on meeting again next year. It was so much fun to see old and new friends.

After our morning workout, walk, coffee, breakfast, showers, and getting dressed we played being lazy as we didn’t have any plans today until 1:00 pm, it was really nice. This afternoon was our Alaskan Rally down at Lazy Days which is only about 22 miles from here. It was great seeing friends from our 2008 Alaskan tour and 2012 tour. We had a great visit with everyone outside by Spike’s motor home. We also got to talk to a few people that are going this year and some people that were there to find out more information about the caravan. There were 148 people signed up for the rally. At 5:00 pm we all went inside and we pulled tables together for our two tour groups that way we got a chance to visit with everyone. Spike introduced all the past and future tail gunners. After a few festivities Spike had a pizza and dessert supper set up for us. Then the music started for singing and dancing. It was a fun filled evening with lots of pictures, laughs, and catching up.

Larry stopped over early this morning to pick up some lumber I had. He has an order for a new motorcycle left and wants to take his out of the truck and needed the lumber to block it up. Then he and Denise are leaving Sunday to go and pick up the new lift and deliver it back in Ontario. While they are home Larry is going to the doctor to see about his back. Hopefully they will be back in a couple of weeks. This morning I took the motorcycle and rode over to Ron and Sandy’s to see what the problem was with the hot water pump I installed a few couple days ago. I thought maybe I had put the water manifold in wrong but everything looked ok. On further checking the hot and cold water were reversed and the dish washer had been hooked to the cold water. Knowing that a dish washer is supposed to be hooked to the hot water I didn’t check any further. That’s what happens when you assume the person that did the work before you is right. After getting the dish washer hooked up to the hot water I got the manifold reversed and hooked back up everything work the way it was suppose to. Also if I had done the test that was in the directions I would have known it was wrong before I left the first time. It just goes to show two wrongs done make a right. I felt really bad that I did make a screw up. While I was gone Cheri went to have her hair cut which she wanted to do a few days ago but didn’t have time. When I got home I worked on the solar lights. One of them got broken from our house sign banging into it on one of our windy days, also had to put a new battery in one of the lights. When Cheri got home she gave me a haircut and then we installed the bottle dish flowers in the yard that Cheri made a couple of years ago. She has to get her paints out and do some touch up painting on them. This evening we went over to Larry and Denise’s to play cards. Larry and I were the winners tonight.

I got a call last night from Ron telling me that the hot water pump I installed yesterday isn’t giving hot water on demand, still has to wait for it to get hot from running the water. So I have set up tomorrow to go and see what the problem is, I have an idea what it might be but will wait to see. Cheri and Denise went shopping today and manage to get to many of the local stores. When Cher got home she had to take Grandma to Wal-Mart so she could have her hair cut and pick up groceries and medicine. It was near 5:00 pm before she got home. Today was motorcycle ride day for our group. There were five of us that rode today. We made a trip to the Harley dealer in Ocala and also a shop that sells used motorcycle parts. I was able to find a used floor board for my bike and saved some money. Our trip was 160 miles with very little sun, in fact we had a few rain drop four five different times. We didn’t get home until 4:30 pm. This evening was our Life Group gathering and it was another great evening learning about Gods word and how to study it.

Cheri started a load of laundry before we left for our morning walk and work out. She wanted to get started early because today is her quilt gathering and she is going to learn on to make a new kind of quilt. She has to take her machine with her today. Denise picked her up at 12:30 pm and headed down to the Rec hall for the class. This morning I got tools loaded into the truck to get ready to go over to Ron and Sandy’s at 10:00 am. They have moved into the Green Acers house and the hot water heater is in the attic at one end of the house and the kitchen is clear to the other end of the house. It takes a while to get the hot water in the kitchen. So I told Ron about a pump that can be installed on the hot water heater that can create a loop so you have hot water all the time. Well Ron bought the pump and asked me if I would help him put it in. We had to add a couple of electric outlets for the pump and then install the pump and the water manifold under the kitchen sink. It was around 1:00 pm when we got done and then headed out to Subway for a late lunch. After lunch I stopped at Wal-Mart to fill the truck with fuel and get a couple of tubs so we can start sorting things in the shed for the yard sale the last Saturday of this month. It was 3:00 pm when I got home and Cheri got home at the same time. I had to take a shower as it was really hot in the attic and I worked up a good sweat. This evening we went up to Scotland Yards to have wings with Sid & Connie, Mike & Pam, Ron &Sandy. We had a long wait before we got our wings but we had such a good time visiting the time went fast. God has blessed us with such wonderful friends.

This morning I e-mailed Larry and Denise to see if we were going to take the motorcycles for a ride down to St. Petersburg to see the 122 foot square top sail schooner Lynx. I got an e-mail back that Larry’s back is still giving him trouble and we will have to take the truck. So when we got ready to leave the house we got the address out to see how to get to the place where the ship is. Well when we check the paper it turns out that yesterday was the last day to see it. So we drove down to Larry and Denise’s and gave them the news. We visited for a while and then the four of us went over to Pizza Hut for lunch. Cheri said she needed to go to Jo-Ann’s for some material for her quilt. So after lunch we headed over to Wesley Chapel to do some shopping. After Jo-Ann’s we headed to Sam’s then back to Larry and Denise’s to play cards. It was another beautiful day that God made for us.

It was another 41 degree morning but once again it warm up to a very nice day. We picked up Grandma and headed to church at 9:00 am. The sermon today was on How to Study a Bible Passage. Pastor Dean did an excellent job delivering the message. We are really enjoying the 40 Days in The Word series. Mike was still not feeling well this morning so he didn’t make it to church. So there were only six of us that were going out for lunch and headed to a new Greece restaurant. When we got there it wasn’t open and Pam got a call that Ron and Sandy that they weren’t going to make it as Carolyn lost the keys to her car and they were going to take her home to get another set of keys. Pam also had to be at her daughter’s to baby sit at noon. So we decided to skip our lunch outing today. When we got home I ordered in a Papa John’s pizza for lunch. I wanted to try the thin crust pizza instead of the regular crust. Well that was a mistake that I won’t make again, it wasn’t as good as the regular crust, guess the only way you find out these things is by trying them. We settled in with the TV this afternoon watching a movie and a series on three 20th century families living for five months the way it was back in 1883. It was very interesting to see how the modern day family adjusted to the 1883 lifestyle. We did watch the last quarter of the Super Bowl and probably was the best part of the game.

Well it seems from the news that the ground hogs have everything figured out; maybe we should be using him to decide who is going to be president and save all that tax money that is spent on the election. It was another cool morning in the neighborhood but warm to be a beautiful day. I finished the shelving in the shed and put most of everything back in the shed today. Now it is time to sort through everything and see what is going on the yard sale at the end of the month. Whatever is left is going to church for their big yard sale in March. Cheri worked all day on her quilt project and has the front all done and is now ready to do the back and then the quilting. Pam stopped over to drop off some coffee cake that she had made. Yes Pam the coffee cake was great as we had some for supper. Pam said that Mike wasn’t feeling well and was going to see if he wanted to play cards this evening. Mike called around 4:30 pm and said that he still wasn’t feeling good, so no card playing tonight. Then I thought maybe we would go to Dade City for the car show but after I got cleaned up the recliner looked too good to pass up. It was another great day that God made for us.

We got a notice a few days ago that they were having a free senior health and wellness expo down at the Rec hall this morning from 9:00 am until noon. They check total cholesterol, thyroid screening, glucose screening, PSA for men, and EKG test. Last night I told Cheri we would go down early because we have to fast for the blood work and afterwards we would go to Golden Corral for breakfast, great plan. Well we got to the Rec hall at 8:40 am and there was already a line of about 30 people and they don’t start until 9:00 am. As far as the EXG, they were only going to do 12 of them and it was by a drawing. They only had one person drawing blood and he was very slow, so it was a long wait. There were about seven people ahead of us when another person came to draw blood. She was really good and was doing three people to the other guy’s one. We ended up waiting over two hours. They were also doing blood pressure testing. We skipped that as we felt that it wouldn’t be a true test after being upset with all the waiting, beside we wanted to get to Golden Corral before they change over to the lunch menu. We did make it with five minutes to spare as they change over to lunch at 11:00 am. After breakfast (really lunch) we went to CVS to get some more back pills for me and Cheri, then a quick stop at the VA clinic to order my medication. This afternoon Cheri worked on her quilt project and I worked in the shed making a free standing shelf unit.

Hard to believe it is the last day of January, We really didn’t get much accomplished this month, being sick didn’t help. It was about 20 degrees colder this morning than it was yesterday. When it is cold I move a little slower and didn’t get outside to work on the shed until 10:00 am. I did get another shelf built before lunch. Cheri continued working on her quilt. Just as we sat down for lunch Larry called and wanted know if we wanted to go shopping with them this afternoon. Of course we couldn’t say no. Larry is looking for an inversion table to lie on. They are supposed to help you get relief from back pain. So we headed for the Brandon mall and shopped Sears with no luck and then to Dick’s where they had two different ones. Larry didn’t buy on as he still wants to find out more about them. Also made a stop at Home Depot so I could get some bolts for a shelving unit I am building out of the parts from an old shelving unit that Larry and Denise brought over for me. It was 6:00 pm by the time we got home. We had a quick supper and headed up to Paul and Bev’s to play dominos, it was a good night as the girls won one game and we guys won one. So it was another busy day in the neighborhood for the Sharps.
