I
actually got some work done around here today. I mowed the lawn and did all the
trimming with the weed whip, clean the patio, watered the lawn, and stowed the
tubs under Grandma’s trailer. It was noon when I got done with my projects. Cheri
worked inside cleaning. We got an e-mail from Larry and Denise wanting to know
if we want to go to Lakeland with them this afternoon. So at 12:30 pm we headed
over to Larry and Denise’s. We went to Sam’s and then back to Larry and Denise’s
to play cards. Then Denise fixed supper for us, well Larry help as he was the
grill master. After supper we played another game of cards. Then it was time to
go and see Grandma to find out how she was feeling and if she was going to
church tomorrow, she said she was feeling much better and wants to go to
church. It is going to be a big event for her tomorrow as she is going to be
baptized, how great is that.

Five
of us left for our motorcycle ride at 10:00 am. Lyn didn’t go as he has his
bike loaded in the trailer; they are leaving for Ontario on Tuesday. We rode to
Clermont for a stop at the Harley dealer so Bud could pick up a part for his
bike. Then we made a stop for lunch at McDonald’s. After lunch we rode on up to
Leesburg and stopped at the Harley dealer. I did buy a poker chip at each of
the Harley dealers. 158 miles later we arrive back in Zephyrhills at 4:30 pm.
It was another fun ride. Cheri day didn’t go has planned. She took Grandma for
her doctor’s appointment so she could get a prescription filled. Grandma told the
doctor that she was having stomach problems so the doctor said it could be from
the medicine she is taking, so he changed her prescription to a different
medicine. Cheri went to three different places to try and get the prescription filled
and none of them carried it. So she went back to the doctor to see what to do. She
saw a different doctor and he told her that the medicine Grandma was taking
wouldn’t upset her stomach so he gave her a prescription for the same medicine
she was taking. Cheri dropped that off at CVS to be filled. After that was all
said and done Cheri and Denise went to Lakeland to pick up Denise’s sewing
machine that she had in for repair. When I got home Cheri was icing down her
knee which was hurting really bad. We went and picked up Grandma’s medicine and
then over to Wal-Mart to get a few things that Grandma wanted. Then back to
check in on Grandma and leave her medicine and groceries. We went to Subway to
have a sub for supper; it was after 7:30 pm before we got home.

It
was 39 degrees this morning, but did warm up to be a very nice day. I had a doctor’s
appointment for a physical which I passed with flying colors, well for another
year. It was 1:00 pm when I got home. Larry and Denise were here so I had a
quick sandwich for lunch and then Larry and I went to work installing the
steering stabilizer on his truck. An hour and a half project turned into a five
hour project. Larry has a tow package installed on the front of the truck for
pulling the truck behind his motor home and that was the same place that the
steering stabilizer needs to go. So it took a lot of extra work getting it
installed. Cheri and Denise worked on their quilt projects while Larry and I worked
on the truck. It was near 6:30 pm by the time we were all done and tools put
away. Cheri and Denise decided we were going out for dinner and ended up at
Golden Corral for another excellent meal and once again we all eat too much.
Then it was back to our place to play a game of Hand, Knee and Foot which Cheri
and Denise beat Larry and me really bad. It was another great day in the
neighborhood that God made for us.

It
is cold again this morning and supposed to be colder tomorrow morning, I am so
sick of the cold weather. I took Cheri for her doctor appointment, not her
knee, still waiting for that appointment. She had to see the doctor so she
could get a prescription for medicine for the next year, insurance only pays
for a physical every other year. It is sad that we pay more for health
insurance and get less coverage. Larry and I left for St Pete at 11:00 am to
pick up our reconstructed motorcycle seats. The ride down was cold but now we
have seats that should give us more comfort. When we got back to Larry and
Denise’s Larry wasn’t so sure his was any better. I could feel a big different in
mine (for the good). Denise had gone and got Cheri and brought her over to
their place to show Cheri what she has done on her quilt. Cheri wants to do the
same thing to her quilt, so Denise let Cheri take her sewing machine home to
use. So later this afternoon Cheri was sewing on a test project to see what she
wanted to put on her quilt. Cheri likes Denise’s sewing machine because it does
so much more than hers. I think I see that look in her eyes that she needs a
different sewing machine. This evening we were invited up to Mike and Pam’s to
play cards and Aggravation with them along with Jenny and Mason. It has been
years since we last played Aggravation. It was a fun evening.

It
was cold and windy today with a high of 56 degrees. Cheri did a load of laundry
this morning and I went right to work on the entertainment wiring. At 9:55 am
we got a call from Grandma saying she had a B 12 shot at 10:00 am, we forgot to put it on our calendar so I hurried
up to Grandma’s and got her to the doctor’s office by 10:10 am. They only wait
for 15 minutes and then they cancel your appointment, so we just made it under
the wire. Then I had to take her to another doctor’s office so she could get a
couple of prescriptions filled. We found out that she has to see the doctor in
order to get one of them filled. So she now has an appointment for Friday. It
was near 11:30 am by the time I got home. I had a call this morning from Larry
letting me know that our motorcycle seats were done and was planning on going
to get them at 1:00 pm. Well I e-mailed Larry and told him I couldn’t go today because
I had to take Grandma for her appointment. I needed to get the entertainment center
back together and I didn’t get done with it until 5:00 pm. When we had the 5th
wheel repaired at the factory last year they had to take the TV out and didn’t
get everything hooked up so our DVD player didn’t work along with the DVR
converter so we could watch the DVD shows in the bedroom, nice to have everything
working again. I was using Cheri quilt area while working on the entertainment
center, not much room and have to take turns which was ok because she needed to
rest and ice down her knee.

Our
cool weather is back; I did walk this morning but had to have a jacket to stay
warm. I took Cheri to have her hair cut this morning she got right in at 9:00
am and we were back home by 9:30 am. Cheri did some laundry, cleaned out the refrigerator
and freezer. She rested her knee and iced it down this afternoon, still has a
lot of pain but the swelling has gone down. I started a project that I have put
off for a long time. I have pulled out all the electronics and to clean the
cabinet and rewire everything. The first thing I did was label all the cables.
I cut some holes in the back so I could reroute cables. Long story short I worked
on it until 3:15 pm and it is going to take me all day tomorrow to finish. Then
it was time to get cleaned up as we are going out for dinner with Larry and
Denise, it is Denise’s birthday today. She wanted to go to a Japanese steak
house. So we headed into Tampa to eat at Arigato Japanese Steak House. Cheri
and I were there once before with Mike and Pam and it was very good. We were a
little early so we stopped at Stein Mart so the Cheri and Denise could do some
shopping. We arrived at Arigato’s just as they opened the doors. We were there
in time for the early bird dinner witch saved us enough for the tip. The food was
really good. When we got back to our place we played one game of cards, Denise
and Cheri thought they should win because it was Denise’s birthday, that didn’t
happen.

Today
was much like most Sundays; we picked up Grandma and went to church. We didn’t
go out for lunch; everybody had other plans with family and friends. So we
dropped Grandma off at home and we settled in for an afternoon of TV and naps.
We were both exhausted from the busy week we had. Felt good just relaxing and
recharging our batteries. I did have a few things that I wanted to do today but
figured they will still be there to do tomorrow.

We
got a good rain during the night and was warm and very humid today. The high
temp was up in the 80’s; it seemed much hotter because of the high humidly. I
heard there was a sale on material at the quilt store in Dade City. Cheri,
Denise where are you, yep gone to the quilt shop. Larry and I went to Lakeland
to the Harley dealer. They were having a class on LED lighting for motorcycles.
It was very interesting and I picked up a few tips on the best way of doing the
lighting. Of course I will have to wait for a new motorcycle as I have done all
I am going to do to the one I have now. The dealer had coffee and doughnuts
before the class and hot dogs afterwards. They also gave each of us a $5.00
gift certificate, so I bought a tee shirt and some wind screen cleaner for the
bike. Larry and I got back around 1:30 pm. Then Cheri and I went up to Mike and
Pam’s so I could finish the towel bar installation. We also go to see Jenny
(Mike and Pam’s daughter) she and her son Mason are here from Tennessee for
spring break. We were invited over to Larry and Denise’s for dinner this
evening and got an e-mail from them to come early to play cards. So we played
one game of Hand, Knee and Foot before having a wonderful meal that Denise
fixed. Then we play one more game of cards, everyone was a winner. It was
another great day in the neighbor hood that God made for us.

It
was on the cool side this morning and we had a planned motorcycle ride. I put
on the cold riding gear and headed out to meet the rest of the guys at 10:00 am.
There were seven of us on the ride today. Once again I was in the lead and we
headed up to Ocala as Butch and Ross hadn’t been there before. Our first stop
was at the Ocala Harley dealer where I got another poker chip, I don’t remember
if I mentioned it before or not. Each Harley dealer has poker chips with their
name on them and you can collect them. So now I am doing a collection of poker
chips. You can also buy a display board to display them in. Our next stop was
the used Harley parts place and then it was off to McDonalds for lunch, the
price seems to keep going up as it cost me $2.21 today. On the way home we
stopped at the 75 Chrome store. Then it was time to head for home. We were
about ten miles from home when it started to rain not bad but when we got within
five miles of home it started to rain a little harder and when we pulled into
the park it not raining, got just enough to get a little damp. It was a 165
mile trip and got home at 4:30 pm. Cheri and Denise went to Lakeland to make the
rounds of all the quilt shops and got home around 4:00 pm. Paul and Bev stopped
by around 6:00 pm to say good bye as they are leaving tomorrow morning and
heading back to Ontario. We sure are going to miss them as they aren’t coming
back to Baker Acers next year. It has been raining off and on this evening and
we really do need the rain.

It
was cool and breezy this morning. Larry and I had a motorcycle ride planned and
decided to cancel the ride and work on his truck. Yesterday Larry ordered the
steering stabilizer for his truck and had bought a new drag link joint. So
Larry and Denise came over around 10:30 am and we started working on the truck.
We had to go to Auto Zone to get a tire rod splitter, That is one of the nice
things about Auto Zone if you need a tool they will let you have on to use for
a deposit and then when you are done with it all you have to do is return it
and get your deposit back. Cheri and Denise went to Wal-Mart to pick up Grandma’s
medicine. When they came back they had everything with them for lunch. So Larry
and I took a break for lunch and then back to work on the truck. Larry got the
drag link joint installed and I took some of the play out of the steering box.
We took the truck to return the tool from Auto Zone and Larry said that the
steering was better. When we got back Cheri and Denise where working on their
quilt projects. We played a game of Hand, Knee and Foot that Cheri and Denise
were nice enough to let Larry and me win (so they say). After the game I fired up the grill and
grilled up some chicken for dinner. It was 6:30 pm when all was said and done
and Larry and Denise had a street dance that they had to head for. It turned
out to be a great day in the neighborhood that God made for us.

I
had a Lab appointment this morning at 8:45 am and it was a fasting one, so nothing
to eat. The good thing is that I got in right away and was done and out by 8:45
am. So I did something that I haven’t done in over 30 years, I went to Great Clips
and had my hair cut. Cheri has always cut it for me. I was home by 9:30 am and
ready for my breakfast and coffee. It rained this morning and couldn’t do
anything outside, which was ok because I needed to work on income taxes. I also
put together a bean soup mix for lunch. Cheri took it easy and iced down the
knee. Denise e-mailed us and wanted to know if Cheri had any more black
material as she came up a little short. Cheri had me e-mail her back and told
her that she had enough for her. So they came over early this afternoon to pick
it up. I had mentioned to Larry that his truck wanders on the road and he said
that he had taken it to the Dodge garage and they told him that they all do it.
Well our son in law had the same problem and he got a steering stabilizer that
took care of the problem. So while they were here I was showing Larry on it
goes on and what it does. Denise wanted to go to Lakeland to pick up a few
things and want to know if we wanted to go with them. Denise said she wanted to
stop at Harbor Freight, how about that, I couldn’t pass that up. Cheri said
that she felt better and wanted to go. First we played a game of Hand, Knee and
Foot that Cheri and Denise won and then headed for Lakeland. We didn’t get home
until 6:30 pm. Cheri and I had a light supper, watched a little TV and called
it a night.

I
wasn’t sure what I was going to do today. Cheri is taking it easy, keeping her
leg elevated and iced down. The weather report for the day was a 57 % chance
for rain today and rain also for tomorrow. Larry and I wanted to go to St Pete
to drop off our motorcycle seats to be rebuilt for better comfort. After
talking to Larry we decided to go today, it never did rain today. We also
stopped at the St Pete Harley dealer which was a first for us. We don’t usually
ride in that direction because there is just too much traffic. Denise came over
to be with Cheri and brought along her quilt project so Cheri and Denise work
on it. When Larry and I got back to our place and the girls were at a good
stopping point for the day. It was 4:00 pm and Denise said lets go out for
dinner and I said why not play a game of cards first. Probably was a bad idea
for Larry and me because Cheri and Denise beat us bad. We went to Manolo’s
Italian Restaurante & Pizzeria. The food was very good, but the service was
really bad and that is not the norm because we have eaten there before and it
was great. We turned in early as we were both tired.

Gay Mar-18-13

Since
I had the problem with my elbow I quit the morning workout and morning walk. I
don’t know what the morning walk has to do with not walking other than being
lazy (maybe it is because Cheri can’t walk and I miss having her with me). Any
way I did walk this morning and it felt good. Cheri started a load of laundry
and then started calling knee doctor’s to see if she could get an appointment.
While she was calling I went down to the park office to have some insurance
papers faxed to the insurance company. Well that didn’t happen as the office
was closed for the morning. On the way back I talked to a couple of people that
have had knee replacements and they told me the best doctor was Doctor Knight.
When I got home Cheri was still making calls and had gotten an appointment on
Friday with a Doctor Baker. So I told Cheri that she needed to see Doctor Knight.
So she called his office and the earliest she could get in was April 10, she
told them that she was in a lot of pain, so they told her that if she went to
the emergency room that she would be able to get in within 48 hours. So that
was the plan but I had to first take Grandma for her doctor’s appointment at
10:30 am. It was near noon when I got home, so we had lunch and headed to the
emergency room. We didn’t have to wait too long as within 30 minutes Cheri was
having her knee x-rayed. Within hour and a half we were done and ready to
leave. The results don’t look good and needs to see the doctor. So when left
the hospital we headed over to the doctor’s office to see about getting in. I
went in and show them the paper work from the emergency room and they said the
earliest she could get in was April 10th. I said when we called in
to get the Appointment with doctor Knight we could see him within 48 hours if
we went to the emergency room first. She said that it has to be with the doctor
that is on call for the day and she said you have an appointment with Doctor
Baker on Friday. I said we want to cancel the Doctor Baker appointment so we
can see Doctor Knight. Longer story short Cheri is going to see if she can
tough it out until April 10th. I dropped Cheri off at home and I headed
over to Wal-Mart to get some more ice packs that we can put in the freezer. We
had a dinner date with Paul and Bev and didn’t want to cancel with them because
they are leaving and heading back north on Sat. After dinner Paul took us for a
little ride showing us some park models that are for sale. When we got back to
their place we played one game of domino and then Paul gave us a ride home. It was
9:30 pm and Cheri said Dancing with the Stars is on. Oh my I thought that my
life was about to end as I didn’t remember setting up the DVR to record the
show. So I turned on the TV and sure enough it was recording. So we had to
watch it before turning in for the night. It was a long day.

Happy
Saint Patty Day, We had our corn beef and cabbage a few days ago. We picked up
Grandma and headed to church this morning, another good message Pastor Dean
presented us about War and the Bible. After church Mike & Pam, Grandma, and
Cheri & I went to Chili’s for lunch. Cheri’s knee is no better today still
icing it down. We did go up to Mike and Pam’s so I could put the towel bar back
up. I have tried using silicone to hold it on the glass shower door. I had to
tape it on to hold it in place while the silicone sets up. I will go back in a
couple of days and remove the tape and apply a finished silicone bead around
it. We also went over to see Larry and Denise to play a game of Hand, Knee and
Foot that Larry and I won. We were back home by 5:30 pm. I got the lawn sprinkler
out and watered the lawn. Then I settled in to watch the NASCAR Race and Cheri
iced down the knee. Tomorrow we are going to see about an appointment for her
knee.

Gay Mar-16-13

Well
we are a sorry bunch as Cheri’s knee is swelled up and spent the day icing it
down. My elbow still has some fluid on it but much better than yesterday but
more sore than before. So we decided not to go to the church yard sale to help
because we were in no condition to help. I took our garbage up to the dumpster
and stopped back by Paul and Bev’s to visit for a bit as they are leaving in a
week. We made plans to go out for dinner on Monday and play domino afterwards.
I did put the patio table together which didn’t take long. Cheri said she
really likes it. Later this afternoon Larry and Denise stopped over and Cheri
show Denise how to put together a new quilt pattern that Cheri is working on.
When they were done with that we order in pizza and play a game of Hand, Knee
and Foot that Cheri and Denise won. Larry and Denise left early so Cheri could
get her leg raised and iced it down.

Gay Mar-15-13

We
were up early and on the road at 7:30 am headed for church to continue helping
with the yard sale. When we got there, there were already a lot of cars and
they weren’t helpers. The sale wasn’t supposed to start until 8:00 am but all
the early birds were there, in fact some were already leaving when we arrived.
We went right to work as one container was still two thirds full. No one showed
up yesterday afternoon to help set up. We had a little more help today but it
still took us until 11:00 am to get everything out of the container. People
were standing by the container doors waiting to see what we were bring out and
some tried to get inside to look. Cheri continued going through bags of
clothes, sorting and setting them on tables. I looked over at her and she was
limping really bad, so I went and got one of our lawn chairs out of the truck
so she could sit and sort. At noon there were still a lot of people there and
it was to be done for the day at noon. Cheri and I left and she was having a
very hard time walking. On the way home we stop at Subway for lunch just like
yesterday. We also made a quick stop at Wal-Mart to fill the truck with fuel.
When we got home Cheri iced down her knee and I took Grandma for her lab
appointment. I told Cheri when I get back I am going to call Mike and Pam to
see if they are home so I could go and fix their shower towel bar. When I got
home I told Cheri that I needed to go to the emergency room as my elbow had a goose
egg size bunch on it and hurt to bend it. I guess I did too much lifting
yesterday and today. So at 1:30 pm we headed to Tampa, long story short, I didn’t
see a doctor until a little after 5:00 pm. He drained the fluid and told me
that it probably would fill up again. He said that he would make me an
appointment with a surgeon. It was near 6:30 by the time we got home.

Gay Mar-14-13

It
was another early day as we had to be at church by 9:00 am to help set up for
the yard sale on Friday and Saturday. We had two semi container full plus a
building the size of a semi container of things to set out. Cheri and I worked
until noon and were probably two thirds done when we left. There were only five
of us doing the work and one more came just before we left, more were supposed
to come in the afternoon. On the way home we stopped by Subway for lunch which
was fine with me. Then we stopped to see how Grandma was and she is doing well.
Cheri call Denise and told her we were home and Denise said they would pick us
up in ten minutes as there was a quilt show in Lakeland that Cheri and Denise
wanted to go to. So Larry and I dropped them off at the quilt show and we went
to Best Buy as Larry had a cable he needed to return. Then we headed to the
Harley dealer so I could get a new air filter for the motorcycle. I got a call
from Cheri telling me to pick them up at 5:15 pm instead of 4:15 pm. They each
had a ticket for a new sewing machine that was being given away and want to be
there for the drawing. So we had more time at the Harley dealer. Long story
short, I bought a new helmet for myself. It was near 6:30 pm when we got home.
Cheri fixed pancakes for supper, watched a little TV and was in bed by 9:30 pm,
both very tired from all the lifting and moving things for the yard sale. Here
is the link to the Bike Week pictures that I took yesterday. https://picasaweb.google.com/sharpstravels.

We
were up early this morning because we had to be ready to leave on the
motorcycle at 8:00 am. Larry & Denise, Ross, and we left for Daytona for a
day of Bike Week. It was 49 degrees with a stiff wind when we got on the road.
Cheri did get cold but survived as the sun helped warm her up as we rode. It
was 11:00 am when we arrived and got to park right by the vendors which was
very nice as last year we had to walk a good half mile. We saw some very interesting
and new items, nothing we had to have. Cheri did get a new helmet and I looked
for one also but no luck either they didn’t have my size or not the right
color. I did try on a couple that I was going to order off the internet, good
thing I got a chance to try them on because they were junk. After doing all the
vendors it was time for a very late lunch so we walked across the street to
Ruby Tuesday’s and was better than most Ruby Tuesday’s we have been in, it was
still too pricy for me. Then it was time to head downtown to where all the
people action is. We weren’t disappointed as there were a lot of different
types of motorcycles and loads of people dressed in different get ups. Soon it
was time to head for home. It was 9:30 pm and 59 degrees when we pulled into
the yard. We had a great time and put on 240 miles. I took a lot of pictures
and will try to get them uploaded later.

Got
up to rain this morning and didn’t quit until early afternoon. We really did
need the rain, but not good for motorcycle riding. This morning I headed out to
get the plumbing fittings I needed to fix Grandma’s water leak. I didn’t have
any trouble getting what I needed at the RV and Park Models supply store. It
took me to until noon to finish the job. I was even able to take some of the
parts back that I didn’t use but it still cost $40 dollars for the parts that I
used. When I got home Cheri was busy working on her quilt project. After lunch
Cheri went to her quilt gathering and I called the insurance company that had
given us the lower insurance quote and got the insurance for just over half of
what we paid last year and have the same coverage we had before. Good to have
that job done. The rest of the afternoon I relaxed. At 4:15 pm we headed to the
Prime Bar in Wiregrass shops at Wesley Chapel. We met Ron & Sandy and Mike
& Pam. We did their Tuesday night special on half price appetizers and
Cheri and I also split one of their burger specials. We had a great visit and
got all the world problems settled for another day. On the way home we stopped
at Home Depot to check out the patio tables. Well we found one we liked so
bought it. Another project, I have to put it together.

I
got the motorcycle ready to leave at 8:30 am as I had an eye appointment in
Tampa this morning at 9:30 am. No problem I should be back home by 11:00 am
which was great as we have a Wisconsin potluck dinner at noon at the Rec Hall.
Well that is what I get for thinking, at noon I was still waiting for my eye
test results. I didn’t get back home until 1:15 pm. Everyone was playing Bingo
when I got to the Rec Hall but Cheri fixed me a plate of food, so I eat while
Cheri played my bingo cards. After it was all said and done Cheri and I each
won a coffee cup and five dollars. This morning after I left Cheri went and got
groceries and medicine for Grandma. She wasn’t feeling very good today and didn’t
go down to the potluck. I had gotten a voice mail from the insurance agency and
apologized for not getting back to me. So I called them to see what they could
do for us. Well that call didn’t turn out very good as she said she had to know
what the value of the truck and 5th wheel before she could quote an
insurance rate. I said you already have the information from when we bought the
truck and 5th wheel so why should I have to do your work for you. By
the time I was done talking to her I was pretty hot under the collar. Then
Cheri told me that when she was up to Grandma’s that she could hear something
over by the kitchen stove and that I needed to go and see what it was. I
figured it was the hot water heater making a noise while it was heating the
water, wrong it was a water leak from a fitting by the hot water heater. I
turned off the water and went to work cutting out the bad parts as there were
several because back when they built these park models they used a gray plastic
pipe. You have to have special fittings and it was after 5:00 pm so the store
was close. I went to Lowe’s to see what they had, no luck there, so we went
back and told Grandma she would be without water for the night. Now it is after
7:00 pm, I am tired, hungry, and not in the best spirts.

Our
warm weather has returned except it is still pretty breezy. We picked up
Grandma this morning and headed for church. Pastor Dean delivered an excellent
message on Bigotry and Racism. He brought up some point that I hadn’t thought
of before. After church we went to the Chowder House for lunch, there were five
of us and the food was very good plus it is the first time we had a place where
I didn’t have any trouble hearing. Just before we got home we got a call from Larry
and Denise and they wanted to know if we wanted to take a motorcycle ride to
Lakeland as Larry wanted to go to Harbor Freight, couldn’t say not to Harbor Freight.
Then we made a stop at Best Buy as Larry needed to get a cable to connect his TV
to their surround sound system. We also made a stop at Aldi’s to pick up some cereal
we like, tough loading 12 boxes of cereal on a motorcycle, but between the two
bikes we made it. When we got back to our place we sat and had a nice long
visit. When Larry and Denise left I settled in to watch the NASCAR Race and
Cheri started on her new quilt project. A while later Paul and Bev stopped by
for a short visit. So it was another great day that God made for us to spend
with friends.

It
was an overcast day but warm up to be a nice day for a motorcycle ride to
Sleepy Hollow (the biker bar) for a steak dinner. There were six of us that
went today, Larry & Denise, Ross & Cindy, and Cheri and me. Ross and
Cindy had never been there before and thought it was a great ride and neat
place to see. Usually we see two or three hundred motorcycles but that wasn’t
the case today, think the missing bikes probably went to Daytona for Bike Week.
There was still a nice crowd. We also got to see a large group of air boats,
must have been at least 25 or more. Usually we see only two or three. It was
fun to watch them come and go. One air boat came in towing another one and when
they got it out of the water to we could see why, the prop had come off and
ripped up the prop cage and a corner of the boat, not a pretty site. After
leaving we made one stop in Bushnell for ice cream. We got home around 3:30 pm
and had a very enjoyable 105 mile ride. Once again Ross brought over his
Florida map so I could highlight the trip we took today. Larry and Denise came
over early this evening to play Hand, Knee and Foot early because we were losing
an hour of sleep tonight. We split on the wins again tonight. It was another
fun filled day in the neighborhood.

It
was another cold morning but not as bad has the last two mornings; I think we
are once again over the hump, enough of the cold weather. Today was a play day
for us. It was our Wednesday motorcycle ride on Friday. Five of us left for Crystal
River, had lunch at Hardy’s and then to the Harley dealer to dream about having
a new bike some day. I did buy a poker chip with the name of the Harley dealer
on it. All Harley dealers have them so I have started to collect them, so I now
have the grand total of two, with many more to come. Then we headed on out hwy
44 to the end of the highway and found a very nice beach on the Gulf. Then it
was time to head back home. We did a 168 mile trip and got home around 4:00 pm.
Ross brought his map over after we got back so I could high light the route we
took today. This is something he does to show all the different roads he has ridden
on, He show me his home state of Michigan map and it sure has a lot of roads highlighted,
nice idea. Cheri and Denise went to Lakeland shopping at Jo Ann Fabrics and Hancock
Fabrics. I think they are happy to see Larry and I go riding so they can go
shopping.

It
is still cold here as it was 37 degrees this morning. When it is cold the body
parts are slow to get moving or maybe it’s all in my head and I just don’t want
to go out. It did warm up to be a nice day but still on the breezy side. We had
a coupon to get $10 off at the grocery store if we spent $40, no problem with
that because we spent over $70. We also had to make a stop at the post office
and TJ Max so Cheri could make a return. When we got home Cheri put the
groceries away and was going to head over to Wal-Mart to pick up Grandma’s
medicine and Cheri said she was going to call to make sure it was ready, good
thing she did as it won’t be ready until Sat. Cheri did some laundry and
cleaning and I worked outside on the shed. I got everything out of the bike
barn and was able to put the motorcycle back in the barn. Everything is back in
the shed and need one more day to organize things and that project will finally
be done. I have a lot empty bins and I think I will store them up in Grandma’s
shed as I don’t have room for them in ours.

We
are a sorry bunch here, Cheri with her bad knee, not able to do much walking
and for the last week I have been having trouble with my elbow. It has swell up
and has fluid around it and has turned black and blue. I don’t remember hurting
it, have no pain in it but is sore. I think it is from lifting weights at my
morning workout as I had just started lifting some additional weights. Long story
short I have decided to stop the weight lifting until it is better. I had
cancelled our Wednesday motorcycle ride with the guys because there was a
chance for rain and was going to be very windy and high temp up 64 degrees. So
what did we do? Larry & Denise and Cheri and I did go for a ride on the
motorcycles. It was 58 degrees when we left at 10:00 am. The rain was over
really early this morning. But the wind was terrible, It was out of the North
West and wasn’t a very enjoyable ride. We rode over to Dunedin so Cheri and Denise
could shop at the largest quilt store (Rainbow’s End) in Florida. We were there
once before back in January but it was closed. It was 57 miles and we were cold
when we got there. Larry and I went to a restaurant down the street and had
coffee while the girls shopped. Then we headed farther south to St Pete to a
shop (Stitch on Time) that rebuilds motorcycle seats. On the way we stopped at
Olive Garden for soup and salad which hit the spot on a cold windy day. Larry
wanted to pick up some studs to install on the tour pack that is on Denise’s
motorcycle. Well before we got out of there Larry is going to have his seat
rebuilt and re covered and I think we will have our seat rebuilt. We have to
bring the seats in after Bike Week in Daytona as he is real busy right now. It
was 5:00 pm when we left his shop and didn’t want to get caught up in all the
rush hour traffic so we headed south over the Sun-Shine bridge and then headed
north to Zephyrhills by roads without a lot of traffic. It was 7:00 pm and dark
when we got home. Cheri was froze and headed for a hot shower to get warmed up.
The temp was down to 54 degrees when we got home. So it was a cold windy 160
mile ride but was still a good time to spend with friends.

Cheri
and I were both up early this morning; no reason we just couldn’t sleep. By
8:30 am Cheri had two loads of laundry done and on the line and headed out the
door to go to the bank and get groceries and medicine for Grandma. I went and
got two tanks of LP and was back home by 9:30 am and Cheri was right behind me.
I spent the rest of the day cleaning the motorcycle. It has been quite a while
since I last did a good cleaning and it really needed it. Finally at 6:30 pm I quit
and still have the windshield to do. This afternoon Cheri went to her quilt
gathering and they were making flowers, something Cheri wasn’t interested in so
she was home early. Cheri spent a lot of time on the computer looking at quilt
stuff. I don’t think she has figured out exactly what her next project is. This
evening we went over to Larry and Denise’s to play cards. Larry and Denise said
the ground under the front jack on their motor home gave away (mini sink hole) and
twisted the frame enough to pop out the windshield. They had a glass company
come and work on it but will have to take it in to have the job finished. They
were lucky that the windshield didn’t break.

Cheri
put in another bad night because of my snoring. I have put on some weight (15
pounds) which makes me snore, so now there are two reasons why I need to lose
the weight, so Cheri can have a good night’s sleep without my snoring and for
my health. We have been eating out too much, I know that is not a good excuse
but it is all I have. When it comes to eating out I have no willpower. When I looked
outside this morning the ground was all white with frost, it was 36 degrees. I
chickened out and didn’t do my walk or workout. We left at 9:00 am and drove to
Parrish to spend the day with Pat and Roger. Cheri and Pat were roommates and
friends way back before they got married. Roger and Pat bought the house they
are in last year just before they went back to Maine for the summer. We got to
see it a couple of days before the bought it and now they have it personalized
for themselves. It is a lovely home and it is something that Cheri and I would
like when it comes time for us to settle down. It was a fun day catching up,
had a lot of laughs and some serious moments. The day went by so fast and
before we knew it was time to head for home. We got home around 6:00 pm.

It
was cold here this morning around 40 degrees. When I went to get Grandma I warmed
up the van before we left and then came back to pick up Cheri, trying to keep
her from walking too much with her bad knee. After church Mike, Pam, Grandma,
Cheri and I went to I-Hop in Dade City for lunch, it has been over a year since
we were last there. Cheri and Pam’s meal wasn’t so good but the rest of us had
a good meal. Our daughter Nikki has written a children’s book and Cheri is doing
the illustrations in it. She worked on it all afternoon and finished it around
6:00 pm. I spent part of the afternoon checking my eye lids to see if there
were any holes in them. Later I watched the NASCAR Race, another good race.

Wow
my wrist watch says it is Feb 30th, when you are old and retired you
need a watch that shows you the date and what day it is, yes the time helps
too. But you also have to remember to reset the date on short months, another
problem with old people. It was cold, windy, cloudy and not much sun; here I go
again I guess if it’s cloudy there won’t be any sun. Cher and I worked on taxes
this morning. We have decided to do them ourselves this year (probably not a
good idea for old people). We are doing them on line and got started and found
out we are missing some tax papers, maybe they will be in the mail this week. This
afternoon Cheri was busy trying to figure out what her next quilt project is
going to be. I worked on cleaning up Mike and Pam’s towel rack and found that
there is two little pointed pins that are missing and that might be the reason
that it doesn’t say hooked to the glass shower door. So I did work in the shed
and think I have some made that will work. Around 1:45 pm Cheri came out and
said that we got an e-mail from Larry and Denise wanting to know what we were
doing, so after a couple of e-mail back and forth they came over to play cards.
We played two games of Hand, Knee and foot which we split. So we ordered in pizza
for dinner and then played the rub, I think Larry and made history because we
won two out of the three games.

I
know Feb is a short month but it sure did go fast, didn’t relies it was March
until later in the day, time flies when you are having fun. We have started
into another cold spell as this morning it was in the high 40’s and is supposed
to be colder the next few days. Our high today was 63 degrees. We had company
today, Dick and Marie Holt; they were on the Alaskan RV tour with us last year.
They are from Wisconsin and winter at the Great Outdoors in Titusville. They
arrived a little after 11:00 am and after visiting for a while we went to
Golden Corral for lunch and then back to our place for more visiting. We had a
good time reliving the Alaskan tour. Before we knew it was 4:00 pm and time for
them to leave. We had a wonderful visit and plan on seeing them again. Later we
sat down to watch some TV shows we had recorded and had trouble staying awake
to watch them.

I
was up early this morning and feeling rested, before 5:00 am, not sure why but
I have started taking a couple over the counter supplements, Super B-Complex
and Vitamin K2. My joints don’t hurt as much as they use to and my back feels
better. I am not sure which one or both that is helping because I started
taking them both at the same time. Cheri Knee is some better but after shopping
with Denise today she said it was hurting some from all the walking they did.
They went to Dade City and did all the shops on main street plus going to the
quilt shop. Cheri and Denise have been going to the quilt shop so much that
they now greet them by their first names. It was ride day for we guys here in
the park. There was a group of seven of us today. We had one new guy (Ross, a
good rider) with us today. We headed out at 10:00 am and made our way over to
the Harley dealer in New Port Richie. We arrived home around 3:30 pm and had a
good ride of 130 miles. After we got back Ross came over to our place with his
Florida map and wanted me to high light the route we took. He also brought
pictures of his latest car (English Ford) project. This evening we went over to
Larry and Denise’s to Play Hand, Knee and Foot.
