So much for waxing on the 5th wheel today, it was 80 degrees by 9:00 am and very humid. I didn’t really feel much like doing any waxing today as all the bones in by body ache. I hung out a load of laundry for Cheri and she has gone for her morning exercise, she is really enjoying her time with the other ladies. I did a couple of honey dew jobs inside, and checked outside as it had clouded up with a nice breeze so I thought maybe I could do a little waxing. Well I was about ready to go out and it started to rain, so the laundry got an extra rinse. I really wasn’t in the mood to do much today any way so I got my book out and read. After Cheri got home she worked on her quilt project and has the top done and I can see that it will be a table cloth. I looked out this afternoon and it was getting darker and the wind was coming up so I headed out to check the laundry and as I was bringing it in it started to rain again. So as you can see it was a very lazy day for me. Norm and Marlene stopped by for a visit this evening.

I got around early this morning so I could get some more of the 5th wheel washed before it got too hot. I got the back done and is now is ready to be waxed, maybe tomorrow I can get that done. Cheri is some better today and drove herself to her exercise class. She got home a little after 11:00 am just as it started to rain. Boy did we ever get a hard rain, we needed the rain but it was so hard that most of it ran off. This afternoon Cheri wanted to go to the second hand store to look for a stand with selves to put between our recliners to store the books that we are reading, no luck in finding something today. I had bought a new GPS last year and used it a couple of time before we left for the summer and on the first day out it quit working. After several e-mails and calls I got an alteration to send it in for repair under warranty and final got it back in six weeks, it took longer because it had to catch up to us in Skagway Alaska. Well on Sunday when we were on our way to see our financial advisor it quit working again. I did some checking on the internet and found there is a place in Wesley chapel that repairs them. I used to have a Garmin but it was old and was before you could get free updates. So that was why I bought the new Rand McNally RV GPS. I should have paid the extra money and bought the Garmin RV GPS, so much for trying to save some money. Later this afternoon Cheri and I took a ride over to Wesley Chapel to see about getting it repaired, they gave me an estimate of 139 dollars to have it repaired. I told the guy I wasn’t going to have it repaired and he said that it’s a 400 dollar unit. I finally said ok and this is the last time I am going to have it repaired. Around 4:00 pm we had another hard rain, didn’t last long, now I won’t have to water the lawns for a couple of days.

I wasn’t in any hurry this morning as I was supposed to take Grandma for a doctor’s appointment this forenoon; well we got a call from the doctor’s office that it was canceled because the doctor was sick. I took Cheri down to the pool for her exercises and then went up to Grandma’s to tell her that her appointment was canceled. She is having an ant problem right now and said that she has put out poison and that is taking care of them. I stared the water sprinklers on Bud’s and our lawn before going back to pick up Cheri. This afternoon Cheri worked on her quilt project and I brought the motorcycle saddle bags in the 5th wheel to clean them. When that was done it was time to take Cheri for her doctor’s appointment. The doctor had put her on a one a day aspirin to keep her from getting any blood clots in her leg. Well her blood was too thin and she has bleed in her leg and that is the reason for the setback. The doctor said some people react different to aspirin and Cheri is one of them. So he told her to take one baby aspirin a day. He said that she should be all better in four to six weeks (that is not what Cheri wanted to hear). Then we stopped at one of Grandma’s doctors to cancel an appointment that she has next week as she has enough medicine to last an additional month. Then over to Wal-Mart to pick up a few things we needed. This evening we went down to Ed and Loraine’s to visit and wish them a safe trip back to Maine for the summer, they are leaving at 5:00 am tomorrow. On the way home we stopped by Norm and Marlene’s for a visit and was home by 8:45 pm.

I was up early as Cheri and I had a hard time sleeping; it is hard to sleep when it’s not your own bed. The plan for the day was to go out on the boat with Brian and Linda for a beach party on an island out in the gulf. We checked the weather and there were going to be some waves. So we canceled the boat ride with them as we thought it would be to rough of a ride in the boat for Cheri’s knee as she is still having a lot of pain. So we were on our way home at 9:30 am. We made one stop so Cheri could walk and stretch her leg. We got home at 11:30 am and stopped by Grandma’s and told her we would pick her up and take her to the pot luck lunch here in the park at 1:00 pm. There were around 50 people, I was surprised to see so many. We played a game of truth or lie, heard some interesting stories and was hard to figure out if they were telling the truth or not. Later this afternoon Cheri put two coats of sealer on her barn quilt, so that will be ready to put up tomorrow. I watched most of the NACAR race that I had recorded. I missed the last 70 laps as there had been so many wrecks that the DVR shut off before it was over. I had added an extra half hour and I should have added a couple of hours. This evening we went out visiting with friends here in the park.

Grandma went to church with her friends that live in the park as Cheri and I were going to head to Cape Coral after church and lunch. We eat lunch with Ron and Sandy at Sonny’s. It has been years since we had been there and it was very good. At 12:30 pm we were on our way to Cape Coral to spend the day and evening with our financial advisor Brain and Linda Rezny. Brian has been our financial advisor for the last 12 years and has done a great job for us. We usually get together once each year and this time they were having a few people over for a barbeque. They had a guy come in and do ribs and chicken on his smoker grill. He started the ribs around 2:00 pm and weren’t ready until around 7:00 pm. Boy what a meal and I did eat my share and probably somebody else’s. We had a wonderful time visiting with everyone and they all looked at out Alaska trip pictures and want to know more about it. It was wonderful day to spend with old and new friends. Around 10:30 pm it was time to call it a night. If you are in need of a financial advisor check out www.reznywealth.com it was the best move we made, never have to worry about our investments anymore.

It was a little cooler today with a high of 86 and partly cloudy but pretty windy. There was a big Memorial Day sale at Beall’s and Cheri figured she needed to go. So I took her over and dropped her off and I went and fill the van with gas and then home until she called me to pick her up. This afternoon I watered Bud’s and our lawn, we do need rain. Then I went back to work on the motorcycle tour pack that I was working on yesterday and yes I brought it in the 5th wheel to finish it. Cheri work on her new quilt project, cutting up nice material into little pieces so she can sew them together again. I haven’t seen the pattern. We got a nice long e-mail from our friends (Carol & Donley) in Kansas and they are ready to start combining wheat, seems strange because in Wisconsin it would be late July before the wheat would be ready.  We got a call on Skype from our friends Bill and Barb who live in Fox Lake Wisconsin. Because of the weather the farmers are having a hard time getting their crops planted.

It was a hot day, by 8:30 am we had the air conditioner running and had a high of 92 degrees plus it was very humid. After I dropped Cheri off at the pool I came back home and worked on hanging the barn quilt. I used some hooks as I want to be able to take it down. After I got it up I took some pictures of it and then took it down as we still need to put the seal coat on it and we are going to wait for the paint to cure some more before putting on the seal coat. The plan right now is to do it on Tuesday. This afternoon I worked on detailing the tour pack off the motorcycle. I don’t think Cheri would be in favor of me putting an air conditioner in the shed so I brought it inside to work on. Cheri has a bunch of material out and is trying to figure out what she wants to do next. I think it is going to be a table cloth. We received a nice package of good Wisconsin cheese (string, aged cheddar, bacon, and farmers) from a lady that I worked with before retiring, how nice is that. Cheri is still having a hard time getting around and continues to ice down her leg. I have uploaded pictures of the barn quilt, click on this link to see them https://plus.google.com/photos/109645901863112014958/albums?banner=pwa&gpsrc=pwrd1#photos/109645901863112014958/albums/5881575017301530593   or click on photo's and then click on barn quilt.

Cheri got a call from the doctor’s office today and they had a cancelation so she will be able to see the doctor on Tuesday afternoon.  I took her down for the pool exercise this morning and picked her up an hour later. It was just too hot to do much of anything today although I did water and mow Bud and Joyce’s lawn, repaired Cheri’s sewing lamp, did a load of laundry and hung it out on the line. Cheri got her paints out and touched up her lawn art flowers (glass plates glued to wine bottles with painted flowers on them). The paint was starting to come off, so she touched them up and look good again. The rest of the day was spent reading and watching TV. I did get a call from Bud (my winter riding buddy) this evening. He has done more motorcycle riding up in New York than I have here. He told me that he bought a new toy, a rag top jeep. He said that he wanted to get out on the old logging trails and dirt roads, sounds like fun.

Cheri called the doctor’s office and talked to the nurse and was told the doctor is out this week and no openings next week and if it gets too bad she should go to the emergency. When you are in pain and don’t feel good, this is not what you want to hear. I took Cheri down to the pool so she could do the pool exercise; she says she like doing this and thinks it helps her leg. I work on getting the power washer working again and used it on the van to get the love bugs of the front. I still need to use a scrubby and some Rain X window cleaner that work really well. I have tied a lot of different things and I think this is the best. This afternoon I took Grandma over to Wal-Mart so she could get her hair cut and groceries. Cheri and I got the barn quilt all painted and this evening we went over to Lowe’s to get something to seal the paint. We were also going to DQ for a Blizzard and decided to stop at the grocery store and buy some ice cream as it would be cheaper and would have some left for another night. I have been reading a mystery novel and there was a part that brought back some memories in my younger days the guys had their hair combed into a duck tail or as some guys called it a ducks ass. If you don’t remember this you are over the hill and on the way down the other side. Maybe you remember watching Happy Day’s as Fonzie had one.

I dropped Cheri off at the pool for her exercise class at 10:00 am. I went to the dentist office to show them the paper work from the emergency room to prove to them that Cheri was sick and why she couldn’t make the appointment. It didn’t make any different to them. So I canceled Cheri’s replacement appointment and told them we were looking for a new dentist. I understand that if that somebody doesn’t make an appointment that they should pay but when there is a sickness that they can prove the reason for not making it, there should be an exception, but not that the dentist we were using. I would think that they would want to keep a customer and now I will surely tell anybody that asked me what I think about the dentist we went to. Then I went to Lowe’s to pick up some trim for the barn quilt we are working on. Then over to Wal-Mart to pick up the part I ordered for the power washer, it will be good to get that back in working order. I was just leaving Wal-Mart when Cheri called and said that she was ready for me to pick her up, talk about good timing. Cheri started to work on the barn quilt this afternoon while I mowed lawn; after I got done I needed to take another shower. Then up to Grandma’s to deliver her mail and see how she was doing. Then it was back to help Cheri with the barn quilt. She said that she didn’t like one of the colors she used and wanted to change it. So I taped the area off so she could repaint (one step back and two steps forward). It looks like it is still going to be a couple more days to finish it.

The first thing on my mine is to tell you about a dear friend of ours, Mike Gregory who is in the hospital with a possible heart attack. Would everyone who reads our blog please take a moment to say a prayer for him. I had to get around early to get Grandma to her 8:30 am lab appointment. When I got home Cheri was getting ready to go to the pool for her exercise, she did call the doctor office this morning to talk to the doctor’s nurse but she is out until Wednesday. This afternoon her knee is swell up even more and she can hardly walk. She is spending a lot of time with ice and even has tried heat. We worked on the barn quilt project today and have made some progress and with some luck we should have it competed in a couple of days. I have been taking pictures and will post them when we get done. I watered the lawn again today and then we had a hard rain come though early this evening, it helped bring the temp down enough so we could open the door and windows for fresh air without having the air conditioner running, love the fresh smells outside after a rain.

We got several e-mails and calls wanting to know if we won the Power Ball. Well the answer is we are still poor and I will be writing the blog a little longer. Cheri is still in pain and having a hard time walking. I think she has over done her exercising in the pool because it was in the afternoon of the day she did some extra exercising that the problem with the muscle above the knee. She did tough it up and went to church today, Grandma also went with us. After church seven of us went out to eat lunch at Olive Garden and our lunch wasn’t up to Olive Garden’s standards. So I did the on line survey to let them know. This afternoon Cheri iced down her leg and took a nap as she hasn’t been able to sleep through the night. Every time she tries to turn over the leg pain wakes her up. I watched the rest of the NASCAR race that I had recorded, well most of it. It was in a rain delay when I went to bed so I extended the recorder to get the entire race. Well I didn’t get all of it because network must have switched to a different Chanel. I did get to see a recap of it so that was ok. This evening we took the quilt barn board that we got ready for Marlene to paint her quilt on.

After everything that happened yesterday we needed a day of rest. Cheri is doing ok today but still having problems with her leg, but it is a little better than it was yesterday. We spent a lot of time reading. Later in the day I felt like I needed to do something so I got out the plywood for Cheri’s barn quilt and got the pattern penciled on it. Then I got out the other piece of plywood that we have for Marlene and Cheri prime it so it will be ready for her. We ordered in pizza from Pizza Hut for supper, sure was good as we haven’t had any for some time. Norm and Marlene stopped by to see how Cheri was, nice of them to stop; Marlene is like a mother hen keeping track of her brood. I think today was the hottest day we have had this season, the air conditioner run most of the day. I tried to watch the NASCAR race this evening but could stay awake for the whole race so I recorded it and went to bed. Cheri had gone to bed shortly after the race started.

What a day we had. Cheri got really sick this morning after she had gotten up, showered, and started a load of laundry. She was sitting at the table reading the news paper when all of a sudden she broke out in a cold sweet, light headed and sick to her stomach. After about 45 minutes I was able to get her to bed. I hated to leave but had to take Grandma for her 10:30 am doctor’s appointment. When I got home Cheri still wasn’t feeling very good. We both had dentist appointments at 1:00 pm. I called the dentist and told them that Cheri couldn’t make it because she was sick. After I had my appointment they were nice enough to charge me $50 because Cheri couldn’t make her appointment. From there I headed over to CVS to pick up some medicine for Grandma and then to Wal-Mart to pick up some more medicine for Grandma. When I got back to the park I realized I forgot to get stamps for Grandma so I went back to Wal-Mart to get the stamps and then to Grandma’s to drop everything off. She had gotten a sinuses rinse pot from the doctor today and needed the rinse for it so I headed back to Wal-Mart to get that for her. When I was going into Wal-Mart I met Norm coming out and told her about my day and about Cheri. When I finally got home Marlene was here and said that Cheri needed to go to the emergency room to see what is wrong. So I got her in the van and headed over to the emergency, thought that it could be a blood clot from her knee. Well they did all kinds of test and everything was normal, which is good news, but no idea what caused her problem. It was near 7:00 pm when we got home. It was a long day and glad it is over. Thank you for all the prayers and checking in on Cheri.

I was out waxing on the 5th wheel at 7:30 am before I showered and shaved. I did get the dinette slide out done, have to work on it early as it faces the east and the sun gets it too hot to wax if I wait. After I got the waxing done I took my shower and got ready to meet the rest of the day. Cheri went for her exercise class at 10:00 am; she has been enjoying it and gets a chance to talk to some other ladies while she is there. Cheri finished making her table topper today and put the primer coat of paint on the plywood board that is going to be the barn quilt. This afternoon I made a change to the grill cart. I added a one foot back and sides to the top as when the wind is blowing it is very hard to get the grill lit so I am hoping that the back and sides will help break the wind. After it was all said and done all I have left from the 4 X 8 sheet of plywood is a 1 foot square piece, not bad. Cheri had a set back with her leg this afternoon. I think it happened when she was getting out of her recliner. It was like she got a Charlie horse in the muscle above the knee and couldn’t get it out. So it is a big setback and she is so disappointed, hopefully she will be better in the morning. So there was no evening walk.

A little slow getting around this morning didn’t sleep very good last night. I did some busy work around the 5th wheel this morning. Cheri is doing better today and was getting around without her cane which is good news; her leg is still black and blue. Cheri went for her morning exercise class and I went to Lowe’s to get a piece of trim for Cheri’s next project (the barn quilt). I had an eye appointment in Tampa at 1:00 pm and got in right on time. The nurse said that I only had to do a field vision test on my left eye and it shouldn’t take long and I would be on my way home. Well that didn’t happen because I waited over an hour to take the test and then over another hour to get the results. It was near 4:30 pm before I got home. Cheri took Grandma for her doctor appointment this afternoon and then finished her purse project that she had been working on and almost has the table topper quilt almost done.

I had a doctor’s appointment in Tampa for my elbow at 9:30 am. Not sure what the traffic would be like at that time so I left at 8:00 am. As it turned out the traffic moved right along with no problems. So I was half an hour early for my appointment, I checked in and within two minutes I was talking to the nurse and she said the doctor was waiting for me. So the doctor told me I had a bone spur which wasn’t big enough to operate on and told me to never let another doctor drain the fluid from my elbow. So by 9:05 am I was on my way back home. I had taken the motorcycle and what a nice ride I had. I thought I might collect a lot of love bugs but not a one, maybe it was because it was early in the day. Cheri was jus ready to leave for her exercise class. She said that it has helped with her knee and leg. She was walking better today but still has some pain in the upper part of her leg. I worked on cleaning the grill which was a big job. I wanted to get it all cleaned up before putting it on the new tool/grill cart. Later in the day we went to Wal-Mart to pick up some brats to grill along with the hamburgers we already had. Cheri also needed some fancy buttons for the purse she is working on. She has already started another quilt project which is supposed to be a table topper. When we walked this evening we took a brat, hamburger, and some homemade potato salad up to Grandma’s then we stopped by Ed and Loraine’s for a visit and then to Norm and Marlene’s to visit and got home at 8:45 pm, just in time to watch Dancing with the Stars.

I think it is a tool cart

Yep it is a tool cart

Now it is a grill cart

We had a front come through today bringing us cooler dry air and should stay around for a few days. It will be nice to have a few days of low humidity. I think Cheri must have over done herself as today she was in more pain than the last couple of days, trying to do things that she shouldn’t be doing. I worked on doing some waxing on the 5th wheel this morning until it got too hot to do. Then I assembled the tool cart that we bought Saturday. I needed to go to Lowe’s to get what I needed for the tool cart top to make it into a table for the grill. Cheri went with me as she wants to do a quilt block painting to hang on the outside of our shed. So we bought a 4x8 sheet of ply wood. Which worked out well as I was able to cut what I needed for the grill table and what is left will be used for the quilt block. After I got the grill topper done Cheri painted it for me, bless her heart, me and paint just don’t go together. Then I went down to start the water on Bud’s lawn and pick up mail for Grandma and take it up to her. When I got home Cheri had called Pam and they made plans for us to go and eat this evening at Del Carmen Mexican store and restaurant in Dade City. It is by far the best Mexican restaurant in the area. Then we went back to Pam and Mikes to play a game of Hand, Knee and Foot which Mike and I won, sorry girls maybe next time. It was 9:30 pm when we got home and still had to watch Dancing with the Stars.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers, without the loving and caring mothers where would we be? I am very proud of my mother. She always has a smile on her face and lets us know that she loves us. Cheri was feeling well enough to go to church this morning, she still has pain and can’t sit for very long and has to walk a little to keep her leg loosened up, but gaining a little more each day. We picked up Grandma and took her to church with us and then out for lunch along with Mike and Pam. We enjoyed our meal we had at Next Door a couple of weeks ago so we went back there again and wasn’t disappointed. When we got back to Grandma’s we played cards with her for a while and then headed home to rest and read. We went for a walk again this evening and visited with Mike, Mary, Ed, and Loraine, it always nice to end the evening visiting with friends. Cheri got a call from each one of the kids today which made her very happy.

Cheri worked on her sewing project this morning. She is making a purse and isn’t happy with the way the handle went on and has taken apart and doing it the way she thinks it should be done and I agree that it is much better now. I think all she has left to do is put the snap or button on; she is still deciding which one she is going to do. I worked on Cheri’s hair dryer. It was all full of lint and hair, so I took it out to the shed and used the vacuum cleaner and air compressor to get it cleaned out. The rest of the morning was spent working on the computer, trying to get rid of some unwanted things that got loaded. I am not too whippy when it comes to computers; usually have to have one of our kids help me out. After much work and failing to get what I wanted removed I finally went back to a pasted restore point and that took care of the problem. I have been pricing out the materials to build a table for our table top grill, to get what I wanted it would be around $100 and that is more then I want to spend. So this afternoon Cheri and I went to Harbor Freight and I bought a tool cart with wheels for $35 and for $15 I can add a removable ply wood top for the grill, cheaper and it will still work as a tool cart. On the way home we stopped at CVS to pick up Grandma’s medicine that we could get the other day and then over to Wal-Mart to pick up a few things Grandma needed. On the way back home from Lakeland we drove through a hard rain that lasted only about 20 minutes which was great, now I don’t have to water the lawn today. This evening we watched the NASCAR race, which end up being a great race. And yes Cheri’s leg and knee is still improving each day.

The last few days have been perfect days with high 50’s in the morning and then topping out around the mid 80’s and low humidity. Well today was different much warmer this morning and 91 for a high today plus the humidity is back. Cheri is leg and knee is improving each day. I know she is feeling better because she has started a new sewing project which she worked on most of the day. And I pick today to work outside in the sun. I went over to Lowe’s this morning to get some vents to install in the shed. I put four vents in the shed to help get the heat out of it. I should have been doing it when the humidity was low, never claimed to be very smart. I took the trash up and checked on Grandma and she was having a late lunch or early supper. I left the van so she could go and play cards this evening. Late this afternoon we went and looked at a house, not sure why because we aren’t ready to quit RV, just starting to think about the future. We walked and visited again this evening.

It was another one of those days that don’t always go the way it should. We left at 9:00 am for Cheri’s 9:15 doctor appointment. When we got there they told Cheri that the doctor was running a little late because of surgery. It was over an hour and half before we got to see the doctor. Cheri got a good report on her knee and the doctor told her she didn’t need to go for therapy, just keep doing what she is doing and back in three weeks. We had one of Grandma’s prescriptions to be filled so we went to Walgreens and they did have any of the medicine in their store so they called two other Walgreens and they didn’t have it either. So we went across the street to CVS to have it filled and they said we could pick it up in an hour. So we decided to go out for lunch at a new Mexican restaurant in town, let’s just say we will not be going there again. While we were there we got a call from CVS saying that they didn’t have the medicine for Grandma and should have it sometime late today or tomorrow, good thing she didn’t need it right away. When we got home I started the lawn sprinkler on our lawn and then went down and mowed Bud’s lawn. Then I started the lawn sprinkler on his lawn. When I got home I moved the sprinkler to a different spot. Then went back to Buds to check his and the sprinkler wasn’t running. The guy from the park was cleaning the Love Bugs off of some body’s motor home and I asked him if he turned off the sprinkler and he just looked at me. Then said yes that he thought someone left the water on and was gone for the summer. Well he did think he was doing a good thing. This evening Cheri and I walked down to Ed and Loraine’s to visit with them. Mike and Mary were also there. On the way back home we stopped by Norm and Marlene’s as they were sitting outside. A little later Mike and Mary stopped there too. It was 8:30 pm before we got home.

We had an interesting day. We got ready to go for Cheri’s doctor appointment and I had checked what time we had to be there and was ready to leave. Cheri was going through her coupons and wanted to know what the date was today and I said it was the 8th. Then a bell went off in my head and I said your appointment is tomorrow not today. We both had a good laugh, good thing we figured it out before we went. I had my day all planned out now it changed. So we spent the morning reading. Grandma had given me a coupon and $5.00 to take Cheri out for lunch at Kentucky Fried Chicken so off we went. It was Cheri’s first time out of the park since her surgery and was happy to go for a ride. Well the lunch wasn’t anything special. We had a $5.00 off coupon at Sweet Craving Bakery so we headed out the other side of town to get something sweet. Well when we got there it was closed up and out of business. When we got back to the Park Ed and Loraine were sitting out so we stopped and visited with them. Then we went up to Grandma’s as Cheri hadn’t seen Grandma for a couple of weeks. Then I told Cheri I needed a lottery ticket for tomorrows Power Ball. On the way Cheri said are you going to take me to DQ for a Blizzard. I said OK as long as you couldn’t get anything sweet from the bakery. Well when we got to DQ there was a couple in front of us that got waited on then the person that was taking orders walked away. We must have waited for several minutes (seemed like an hour), finally I told Cheri I feel like leaving and she said let go. Just as we were leaving a couple came in and I said I hope you like waiting and a person stepped up to take their order. The couple said you want them to take your order and I said no we waited long enough and headed for home. Norm and Marlene stopped by this evening to check on Cheri. Yes Cheri is better today, the muscles above the knee are still very tight, but doing more walking.

Today was another wonderful day just like yesterday. And I got a lot of work done. Cheri had a much better day, less pain, but still needed to ice down the leg. I worked on washing the dinette slide and back of the 5th wheel, Power washed all the concrete, washed the van, washed the motorcycle, watered the lawn, and watered Bud and Joyce’s lawn. Later in the afternoon I went and got Grandma’s mail and dropped it off for her. After supper Cheri wanted to go out for a walk, her first since her surgery. We walked down to Mike and Mary’s where Ed and Lorraine were visiting so we stopped to visit with them and Norm and Marlene also stopped to visit. We guys got most of the world problems worked out, now if we could only get the idiots to listen to us. Jean Golden gave Cheri a ride back home in her golf cart as she thought that it would be too much to walk back and Ed gave me a ride in his golf cart. We watched Dancing with the Stars and called it a night. Thank you God for presenting us such a wonderful day to spend with friends.

We had the most wonderful day; the high was in the mid 70’s and very low humidity. It was a great day for sitting outside. Cheri had another good day and sat outside most of the day. She did more walking today but still has to have the leg elevated with ice. But we can see progress and that is what it is all about. She feels more like doing things again. I made a trip to Tampa on the motorcycle this morning. I have a doctor’s appointment next week for my elbow and went to see about getting some x-rays done before I saw the doctor. Well that didn’t work out because the doctor didn’t order any x-rays. Wouldn’t you think the doctor would want to have the x-rays before my appointment to go over? Of course that would mean one less doctor’s appointment and less money for the doctor. Well the motorcycle ride was fun, it is the first ride I have been on since Larry and Denise left a couple of weeks ago, was good to be back on the bike and a great day for it. After lunch Cheri continued to sit outside and soak up some more sun. I waxed the roof of the 5th wheel, glad to have that much done, still have the rest to wash and wax. We talked to Larry this afternoon on Skype and they are doing well. Larry said that they have put their motor home up for sale. They are thinking about buying something here in Florida for the winter months.

Once again Cheri and I didn’t go to church as Cheri didn’t think she could sit that long without having her leg elevated. Grandma did go to church with her friends. Cheri is doing much better today, doing more walking and has a little more knee mobility. She is in much better sprits today and is doing some of the things that I have done for her. I even took her to have her hair cut which helped make her feel better. We didn’t turn on the TV until after lunch today as we spent the time reading. I got a new Bible yesterday and spent part of the morning reading in it. It is a Daily Bible that is in chronological order with 365 daily readings. Makes reading the Bible more interesting. This afternoon I watched the NASCAR race, along with a couple of other shows while waiting for the three and half hour rain delay. The race was pretty much like the one I watched yesterday, nice to see some of the lesser known people up front and win the race. This evening Ed and Loraine stopped for a visit and to see how Cheri was doing.

Cheri did much better today. I got her outside this morning with her coffee to sit and read the newspaper. Then she walked up and down in front of the 5th wheel. We were still out when Mike and Pam brought dinner for us. Pam had made a casserole, cornbread, and peach cobbler. After dinner we visited for a while and then it was time for Mike and Pam to leave as Mike had to work this afternoon. Thanks Mike and Pam for thinking about us in our time of need. Cheri continued to walk and sit outside while I mowed the lawn. After I got the weed whipping down I took the trash up and then picked up Grandma’s mail for her. Cheri finally went inside as it was getting too hot to sit outside. I decided to watch the NASCAR race this afternoon but there was a three hour rain delay so I thought I would read awhile. Well it was a very short while because I took a nap. After I napped I check the race and it was still in a rain delay. Cheri was out of Aleve that she is taking for the pain, so I made a trip to Wal-Mart to pick some up. When I got home the race was finally on and what a good race it was. What a nice day it was in the neighborhood, sitting outside, several people stopped by to see how Cheri was doing, Mike and Pam bringing us dinner, doesn’t get any better than that.

Cheri is much better today and is doing more walking inside. She still has pain that needs to be iced down. Tomorrow we are going to get outside for her to walk some more. I took Grandma to her doctor’s appointment this morning. It was a 10:15 am appointment and didn’t have to wait very long to see the doctor which was good. After her appointment we went over to Publix’s so she could get some groceries. It was near 1:00 pm when I got home. Cheri and I had a late lunch and then I took Cheri’s grocery list of about four things and went back to Publix’s. Well I took my time and just looked around and found all sorts of things that I thought I needed to buy, so by the time I was done it cost me $115.00. I don’t think Cheri will let me go grocery shopping by myself again. All well I think it will be OK because I also bought her some ice cream. Pam stopped over for a visit this afternoon. We had a wonderful visit and Pam prayed for Cheri before she left, thank you Pam. Jean Golden stopped by and told us about a set of steps that we could use in place of the ones we have so Cheri could get in and out of the 5th wheel easier. So I went and checked them out and sure enough they would work so I brought them back and put them in place. It was a lovely day in the neighborhood with a little rain this afternoon.

It was a cloudy, cooler day with rain at times. Cheri got up feeling some better, still is fighting the leg pain but not sick to her stomach today. Also she was able to stay awake today so I think she is on her way to getting better. She has a little more movement in her leg today. Still has a long way to go. I went up to check on Grandma and she is really tired from what she went though yesterday and her stomach is upset. I worked in the shed today and finally have everything put away. The shed is only half big enough but at least I can find things when I need them. This afternoon Ron brought over a pot roast with potatoes, carrots that Sandy made for us. We had it for supper and sure did hit the spot, thanks Sandy. We tried to watch some shows we have recorded and can’t stay awake, but we can watch something that isn’t recorded and have no problem staying awake. Betty stopped over this evening to tell us goodbye as she is leaving tomorrow to head back to Wisconsin. Marlene also stopped by to see how Cheri was doing.

I can’t believe it is the first of May already, don’t know where April went. I was up early this morning as I had to have Grandma over to the hospital outpatient by 8:25 am. She was scheduled to have a scope done of her throat and stomach. We waited until 9:45 am to get into the prep room. Then we waited until 11:30 am before they took her in for the procedure. By noon she was back in the recovery room. It was after 1:00 pm when I got home. Cheri got up with a lot of pain and is the same has yesterday. She was sick again this afternoon from the pain medicine, not sure which is the lesser of the two evils. She did do more walking today and continued icing down the leg. I wasn’t in the mood to do anything this afternoon as it was a cooler and cloudy day with rain that finally arrived around 5:00 pm. Cheri didn’t take any pain medicine before she went to bed, hope she can get a good night’s sleep.

We had a rain storm come though at 5:00 am this morning with thunder boomers, been a long time since we had thunder boomers. At 10:00 am the rain was over and the sun was out. Cheri got up early and sat in her chair. She said that her stomach was upset. She said that she was very hungry so I fix her breakfast, but still feeling nauseated; she thinks it may be the pain medicine causing it. By 10:30 am she was feeling better. She got to take a shower and wash her hair today which helped make her feel better. She still has a lot of pain in the muscle above the knee. She is doing some walking without the aid of the cane. I got her to bend her leg at the knee and was very painful but had more motion today. This afternoon we played a game of Hand, Knee and Foot that Cheri won. I would like to say that I let her win to make her feel better (I didn’t). We watched Dancing with the Stars, not sure why I watched because Cheri told me who was going home before the show. I didn’t do anything today, just took care of my sweetie.
