I went our early and started washing the
truck. I am not sure what all Cheri did today, I do know she went for the pool
exercise class. I worked on the truck until 12:30 pm and then took a break for
lunch. I wanted to sit down and rest after lunch but I knew that if I did I wouldn’t
get up. By mid afternoon I had the truck washed and started waxing it. I quit
at 3:30 pm getting ready for the pot luck at the club house at 5:00 pm. I see
Cheri spent a lot of time in her sewing room trying to get some of it
organized. The pot luck was good but was surprised there weren’t more people;
think Cheri said there were only 23 people. I know there is a lot more people
that stay year around here than in Baker Acers and we would have 40 to 50
people at the pot lucks there. After the pot luck I went back to work on doing
some more waxing on the truck and Cheri continued to put things away. We
finally quit at 7:30 pm. It was a long day but we did get a lot done.

It
was another busy day at the Sharp’s house. It was nice to have a day of rest
yesterday but back at it today. I worked putting some stuff back in the shed
this morning while Cheri continued with her unpacking and putting things away.
At 9:30 am we headed over to Baker Acers so Cheri could do her exercise class.
I mowed Bud’s lawn and started the sprinkler. I went back to the 5th
wheel and loaded the bike barn and some scrap medal I had on the truck. As I was
on my way out of the park I see Norm was sitting out so I stopped to visit for
a bit. Then Mike came home and came over. I was about ready to leave when
Cheri, Marlene, and Mary came back from the pool. I finally did leave and
headed to the scrap yard to get rid of the scrap that I had, got a whole $5.10
for it. When we got home I unloaded the bike barn and had lunch. Then it was
time for me to start cleaning the truck, worked on it until 5:00 pm and had
enough for the day. I came in and took a shower, eat supper. Cheri fixed some
more of our Alaskan halibut; think we have enough for a couple more meals. Each
time we have some, it brings back some great memories of our Alaskan trip.
After supper I sat down and went through paper work and sorting out the paper
work that goes with the truck and 5th wheel. Cheri had already gone
through a lot of it. At 8:00 pm I had enough and sat down and watched a little
TV before calling it a night.

Mike
and Pam picked us up at 9:00 am and we headed to the Family Worship Center in
Lakeland for church this morning. Dr. Rodney Browne delivered the message. We thought
we were going to hear Rev. Paul Chase but there was a change that we didn’t
know about. The message Dr Rodney delivered was more for the church members but
was still very good. After church we went to Fred’s for dinner. Cheri and I had
been there once before and loved it. It is all from scratch Southern cooking.
Mike and Pam hadn’t been there before. We were lucky that we got there when we
did because there were a least 40 people come in for a reunion right after us.
The food was great and we plan on going back again. When we left there must
have been at least 20 people waiting to get in, I would say that is a testament
to how good the food is. When we got back to our place we played a game of Hand,
Knee, and Foot. Cheri and Pam won big time. Mike and I never really had got
into the game. After three hands we were behind by over 16,000 points and
decided to concede and not play the last hand. After Mike and Pam left I settled
in to watch the NASCAR race that I had recorded. Cheri watched some, read some,
and napped some. Cheri and I are still trying to catch up on our rest and went
to bed early again this evening.

Right on the beach with a volley ball game |
No it wasn't any of us. |
Cheri
and I were both hurting this morning when we got up. The last two weeks have
really caught up to us. It is a good thing that today was a play day as Cheri
and I wouldn’t have gotten much done today. Norm, Marlene, Mike, Mary, Cheri,
and I went on a road trip today. We left at 9:00 am. We all piled into Norm and
Marlene’s van and Norm did the driving so the rest of us could relax and enjoy
the trip. It was really a day for the girls but we guys went along. Our first
stop was at the museum in Dunedin. They were having a quilt show. It was pretty
interesting but some of the quilts were pretty far out, would have to have a special
place to display them. Our next stop was the Rainbow Ends quilt shop in Dunedin.
We guys stayed in the car with the air conditioner running. After a while the
girls came out all smiling and each had a bag. Our next stop was the Rockaway
grill right on the beach in Clearwater. 90 percent of what they serve is sea
food. Cheri and I have been there before and Mary wanted to be on the beach and
this was as close as you could get because it was right on the beach. Mike
drove us home for Norm. It was a fun relaxing day with lots of laughs and
stories. We got home a little after 4:00 pm. Cheri and I crashed in our
recliners, Cheri tried to read and I tried to watch the NASCAR race. We both
dozed on and off and finally went to bed a little pass 8:00 pm. Cheri and I really
needed the day off.

Today
was the day to move the shed. The guy that is going to move it was supposed to
call me yesterday to let me know what time he was coming. Well this morning I called
him and he told me he would be here in 30 minutes. So I headed over to the 5h
wheel. By 11:30 am the shed was all set in place at the new house. I was really
happy the way it turned out. I still have to install the tie down anchors and
get the electric hooked up. Mary called this morning and said the pool pump was
broken and the pool was closed. So Mary and Cheri went down to the pool here in
our park. They got to meet some new ladies and Cheri said that they did a lot
of the same exercises that Mary and Cheri had been doing. After lunch Cheri continued
cleaning and putting things away. I went back to the 5th wheel and
washed off the top of the slides and put them in. Everything is done inside the
5th wheel. All that is left to do is give it a quick wash job before
we take it to be sold. I still have the truck to wash and wax. I made a trip to
Lowe’s and picked up a new door bell button. So now we have a working door
bell. I took a shower and got cleaned up and was ready to sit down and rest
when Norm & Marlene and Mike & Mary stopped by for a visit. Nobody felt
like cooking so we went to Dade City to have Mexican for supper. When we got
home Cheri and tried to watch some TV but that lasted less than a half hour, so
we were in bed a little before 9:00 pm.

It was another busy
day. After a little work here at the new home it was time to head over to the 5th
wheel. While Cheri was at the pool I work on getting things out of the shed so
it can be moved tomorrow to our new house. Mike came with his truck and we made
two trips with stuff from the shed. Cheri went Wal-Mart to get Grandma’s
medicine and when she got back we filled the van with stuff and headed home.
After lunch we headed back to get the last load out of the shed and to clean
the 5th wheel basement. We had rain showers off and on most of the
day and we were able to get everything done between showers. We got back to the
house around 3:30 pm. Cheri rested while I unloaded the van. Cheri helped me
mount the new cabinet in the bathroom. I worked on getting the new TV mounted
in the kitchen/ office area while Cheri fixed supper. It was 7:30 pm when we
got done eating and decided we had enough for the day. I still have to get some
wire mold to cover the cables to the TV. We got a couple of hard rains this
evening. I can only remember three days in the last six weeks that we didn’t
get any rain. Sure has made the grass grow and hard to get it mowed as it never
gets dried out.

Well
I got more sleep last night then I thought I would. Things settled down so a
little after midnight I went to bed. At 6:40 am we headed to Tampa for my
colonoscopy which wasn’t until 8:00 am. I wanted to leave early because I wasn’t
sure where I had to go. On the way I stopped and got Cheri a cup of coffee and
a donut. Cheri had to go with me as she had to be there so she could drive me
home. I actually got in at 7:40 am and was all done and on our way out of the
hospital at 9:30 am. I got a clean bill of health and don’t have to worry about
that for 5 plus years. I felt good enough to drive so on the way home we
stopped at Bob Evan’s for breakfast. It sure was good to be able to eat again
and breakfast is a treat for me. After breakfast we headed to h h Gregg to buy
a TV for the kitchen/desk area. Then we stopped at Home Depot to get a cabinet
for the master bathroom, Cheri wanted something to put her girly stuff in. We
also got towel racks, door bell, and a blind for the kitchen sink window. We
also stopped at the bank and VA to get our address changed. We also stopped by
the 5th wheel and got a load of stuff out of the shed. When we got
home I was going to put up the new cabinet for Cheri but didn’t have my stud
finder here and didn’t want to make additional holes to find the stud, so that
will wait until later. So I thought I would mount the new TV, that didn’t work
either as I need some shorter mounting screws. Well I guess I could put up the
new door bell, it plays the same tune as the clock and that’s not a good idea.
No problem all I have to do is change a couple of jumpers and we have a ding
dong door bell. Well we got the ding and no dong. So we left early for Bible
study and stopped at Home Depot to return it. Bible study was great and Pastor
Dean does a good job of explaining things. After Bible study Mike, Pam, Cheri
and I headed to the Village Inn for the free Wednesday night pie. God blessed
us again today.

I must start this
blog entry on yesterday at 4:00 pm. I am scheduled to have a colonoscopy on
Wednesday morning in Tampa. So any way at 4:00 pm I was to take six little
bisacodyl pills, this is the beginning of the clean out. Everything was ok
until around 10:00 pm when all hell broke loose. I jumped out of bed and headed
for the main bathroom so I wouldn’t disturb Cheri. From the bathroom I only
went as far as the recliner. All night long it was back and forth from the
recliner to the bathroom. The toilet has become my best friend. I was afraid to
go to sleep as your muscles relax when you sleep and there was a part of me
that I didn’t dare to relax. I sure would like to ship a couple of bottles of
them little pills to Washington DC for all the politicians. After a good
cleaning maybe they could think straight and get our country back on track. I
decided to put up the new fan in the living room so I could be close to the
bathroom. At 10:00 am I had to start drinking an eight oz glass of Golytely
every 15 minutes for two hours. Well that speeded up the number of trips to the
bathroom. My fan project which should have taken about an hour turn out to be
four hours as I now have the carpet worn out between the living room and
bathroom. Cheri wasn’t able to do her pool exercise because she had to take
Grandma for her doctor’s appoint because I couldn’t be out of the sight of a
bathroom. Finally by 4:00 pm the bathroom trips have slow down. Then at 6:00 pm
it starts all over again, drinking an eight oz glass of Golytely every 15
minutes for two hours. It is now 10:30 pm and things are starting to slow down
again. After today I think I should have bought stock in toilet paper as I have
use almost two rolls today. I wonder how the 45 minute trip to Tampa tomorrow
is going to be, depends, yep that’s probably what I will need.

We left the house a
little earlier so we could get more done at the 5th wheel. I
finished the waxing while Cheri buffed the cabinets. I had to put in the dinette
slide in order to finish the waxing so Cheri couldn’t finish the floors until I
was done. When Cheri left for her pool exercise I worked on the inside of the 5th
wheel doing some minor things that needed some attention. When Cheri came back
she finished the floors and is all done inside the 5th wheel. I
started to mow lawn but it was too wet so I loaded up the van one more time
with things from the shed. Then I did finally get the lawn done. Once again it
was after 1:00 pm before we got home. After lunch I showered and felt much
better. This afternoon we went to the post office to get our address changed.
After filling out the mail forwarding card we talked to an employee as we
thought we should have gotten mail at our new address already. He said did you
fill out a new customer sheet, we said no and that is the reason we hadn’t received
any mail. It is the first time we have ever had to fill out anything other than
a mail forwarding card. After we got home I did a few odd jobs that needed to
be done and Cheri is still putting things away. Cheri wanted the microwave
moved to a different location so I moved it and it didn’t fit where she wanted
it so we tried a different place and she didn’t like that so in the end it is
back where it started. I had to move the refrigerator out to plug the microwave
in. I noticed a water hookup behind the refrigerator and said to Cheri that the
old refrigerator that was here must have had an ice cube maker. After looking a
little further I could see it was hook to this refrigerator. I had never really
looked at it only that it had a bottom freezer. After checking things out we
found that we did have an ice cube maker, how dumb we are. I asked Cheri if she
noticed the ice cube container and she said yes and thought it was just another
container. Well you had to get down on your hand and knees to see the ice cube
maker. We also have a small chest freezer that we had to get started so we
could take some stuff out of the refrigerator freezer to make room for the ice.
If Cheri hadn’t wanted the microwave moved we may have never known we had an ice
maker, scary when you think about it.

Cheri and I both put
in a bad night. We were awake and talking to each other at 2:00 am. I finally
did go back to sleep but Cheri didn’t, her legs were hurting her. She got up
and went to the living room to rest in the recliner. We had a guest speaker at
church so Grandma didn’t go with us because she wouldn’t have a copy of the
message, so she went to church with friends in the park. After church Mike
& Pam and Cheri and I went to the Chowder House in Zephyrhills for lunch,
it was excellent. On the way home we stopped by Big Lots as Cheri was looking
for pillows to put on the bed. She did find what she was looking for so that is
one more thing to cross off her list. As soon as we got home we changed clothes
and headed over to the 5th wheel to work. Cheri worked on vacuuming
the carpet and washing the floor. I finished the waxing of the 5th
wheel. Then I took the lawn mower down to Buds and mowed his lawn and on the
way back to the 5th wheel it started to rain. So I couldn’t mow our
lawn, so that is on the list for tomorrow. When we got home I took a shower as
I was all sweated up from working at the 5th wheel. Cheri is busy
emptying tubs and putting more things away. I did some honey do jobs. Finally
at 6:30 pm we decided we had done enough today and settled in to watch some TV.

Cheri
and I are both wore out from all the work we have been doing. We had to force
ourselves to go to the 5th wheel to work today. All Cheri has left
to do is wash and vacuum the floors and she is done. I needed about 15 minutes
more and the waxing would have been done but the rain put an end to that
project. I got everything out of the basement except for the generator. Another
day of work and the 5th wheel will be done. I still have to wash,
wax, and clean the truck. We worked until 1:30 pm then picked up Grandma’s mail
and took it up to see her and how she was getting along. She said that she was
OK. We headed home to unload another load out of the van. Then we got cleaned
up and went to Lowe’s shopping for towel bars and cabinets for the bath room. I
think we will make a trip to IKEA before we make any decisions. After a stop at
Wal-Mart it was time to head home to get the grill started to grill a steak we
got a few days ago. Cheri fixed a bake potato to go with the steak. After we
eat I put together a little stand we bought at Lowe’s to put on the dresser in
the bedroom so we could have the TV set higher as it was hard to see it laying
in bed. At 9:00 pm we called it a night and headed to bed.

Cheri put away a few
things before she headed for her exercise class. I stay home to wait for the
new recliners to be delivered. They told us they would be delivered sometime
between 10:00 am and Noon; well they were here right at 10:00 am which was
good. As soon as they left I headed for the 5th wheel to do more
waxing. After Cheri’s class she continued to clean in the 5th wheel.
We worked until 1:30 pm and I couldn’t stand the heat any longer and Cheri was at
a good stopping point so we headed back home for lunch. Then it was time to get
cleaned up again. I worked on getting the Direct TV remote to work with the new
TV. Then I changed things around so the sound bar would work without building a
platform for the TV, it looks nice and Cheri is happy. Then we rested for a
while waiting for Mike and Pam to pick us up. We headed to Wesley Chapel where
we met Ron and Sandy to see the movie Red 2. After the movie we went to
Applebee’s for dinner but they didn’t have any electricity due a transform
problem. So we went over to Sonny’s, the food was very good. When we got back
to our place Pam wanted to see out new entertainment center, so they came in to check it out and visit for a bit.
Cheri and I were very tired and were in bed by 9:30 pm.

Cheri
still has the dishwasher, washing machine, and dryer going pretty much all the
time. I think she can see an end to that part. This morning we headed back to
the 5th wheel. I did some more waxing, with a little luck I think I can
have it done in a couple more days. After Cheri’s exercise class she started
washing things done in the 5th wheel. At 1:30 pm we stopped to see
how Grandma was doing and then to the furniture store to about getting our new
recliners delivered, they told us we they will deliver them tomorrow between
10:00 am and 12:00 pm. We were invited over to Norm and Marlene’s for home made
bean soup and skillet fried corn bread at 4:00 pm today. Then we got a call
that our new TV was going to be delivered between 3:45 pm and 6:45 pm. So I told
Cheri she could go and I would stay here and wait for the TV. Cheri was telling
Marlene about the TV being delivered so Marlene said they would bring the
dinner over to our place. So at 4:00 pm we had this wonderful dinner with all
the trimmings at our place. Mike and Mary also came and brought a dish of kielbasa
with a special sauce that Mike made. The new TV arrived around 5:30 pm, got it
set up to make sure everything worked before the delivery guys left. We watched
TV a little while and then had dessert and visited until around 7:00 pm. After
our dinner host and quest left Cheri and I sat down to watch some TV but in a
short time we both were sleeping, so we called it a day and headed for bed.

It
was another busy day at the Sharp’s house. I was up before 6:00 am. A short
time later Cheri was up. Things are crazy around here. I start to do something
and before I know it I am doing something else. Cheri and I moved the big
entertainment center out of the living room into the sunroom. Then it was time
to drop Cheri off for her pool exercise class and for me to take Grandma for
her doctor’s appointment. We waited almost an hour before we got to see the doctor.
It was after 11:00 am before I got Grandma back home and Cheri was waiting for
me to pick her up. We came home and Cheri change and then we headed to Plant
City to pick up our new cabinet with a fire place to put our new TV on which is
supposed to come tomorrow. When we got home we washed the wall and vacuumed the
floor where the old entertainment center was sitting. I called Mike and asked
him if he could come over and help us get the cabinet in the house. After getting
it in place we visited for a while. Thanks for the help Mike. Cheri worked on cleaning
the desk area getting a place for the computer and printer so we could get it
on the dinner table, now we have a table to eat from. It wasn’t long and it was time to head to
church for our Bible Study. Another great night with Pastor Dean talking about
God’s chosen people coming out of Egypt and about all the laws he put to them
and why God did this, it was very interesting. After Bible Study six of us
headed to the Village Inn for free pie. Before we got served Mike and Pam came.
They weren’t able to make it to Bible study this evening as they had another
commitment. We are so tired tonight that I think we will sleep until noon
tomorrow.

Cheri
and I went down to the Rec hall at 8:00 am here in the new park for their $3.00
per person breakfast of scramble eggs, fried potatoes, sausage, orange juice,
and coffee, it was very good. It gave us a chance to meet some of the new
people. After breakfast we headed to the hair solon to have our hair cut. We
were there right at 9:00 am when they opened so we were the first to get our
hair cut. Then we headed to the 5th wheel to pack up another load.
While Cheri was at the pool doing her exercise class I did some more waxing on
the 5th wheel. It was much better as now I am working on the side
that is in the shade in the morning. It was near noon when we got back to the
house. Cheri put a few things away and started another load of laundry. The
dish washer, washing machine, and the dryer have been going steady since we got
in the new house. This afternoon we decided to take a break and do some
shopping for towel bars, curtains, TV, and DVD player. Cheri couldn’t find any
curtains she wanted and couldn’t find the towel bar that we wanted; I think we
have to go back to IKEA. We did buy a new TV, sound bar, and blue ray player. The
park managers were having free pizza at 5:00 pm in the Rec hall. We had signed
up for it and thought that we would get a chance to meet some more people. We
had spent so much time looking at TV’s that time got away from us and we were
20 minutes late for the pizza, but there was still plenty for us. While we were
gone shopping there was a bad rain and wind storm come through so after pizza
and visiting we went over to the 5th wheel to check on the awning, I
should have put it in before we left earlier today, well everything was ok.
After we got back to the new house we continued to put a few things away and at
8:00 pm I told Cheri that that was enough for the day.

Cheri and I didn’t
get to have the best nights rest, going from a king to a queen and a harder bed
then we are use to made it quit the challenge, in time I think we will be ok.
This morning when I got up to make coffee I looked in three different cupboards
for the coffee and filters with no luck. I laughed and said to myself this is
just like a scavenger hunt, three more cupboards the lost coffee and filters
were found. Ok that is done, now where is the computer, then the challenge of
finding my shaving equipment and tooth brush. Cheri had some of the same
problems. We finally got ourselves together and were ready to face the world
for another day. I dropped Cheri off at the pool for her exercise class and I went
on to the 5th wheel to do some more waxing. I just finished waxing
the front cap when Cheri came. I took pictures of the motorcycle lift so I could
put it on Craigslist to sell. We loaded up another load and headed for the new
house. I also brought the motorcycle over this time. After lunch we did more
cleaning and putting things away. I made one more trip back to the 5th
wheel to get a tarp out of the shed. There is a couch and love seat in the
living room that Cheri wants in the sunroom and the couch that is in the
sunroom has to be put in the living room. So I figured the best way would be to
lay them on the tarp and pull them from one room to the next room, it worked out
really well. I also stopped and bought some ice cream and cake as Norm &
Marlene and Mike & Mary said that they were coming over this evening to see
how much we have done. It was another fun evening visiting with them in our messy
new home.

It
was another wonderful Sunday in church spending time with God. Pastor Dean had
an excellent message which makes the time go by so fast. After church Ron &
Sandy, Grandma, and Cheri & I went to eat at Red Robin, I wasn’t happy the
last time we were there so wasn’t sure about this time. Well the food was
average and the cost is too high. This afternoon Cheri and I took another load
of stuff over to the new house. Cheri put away most of the stuff we brought
over today and worked in the kitchen. I worked on the dryer as I thought it
took too long to dry things so I took it apart and gave it a good cleaning.
When I moved it from the wall I could see the floor need a good cleaning also,
plus under the washing machine. Cheri and I made up the bed and decided to
spend our first night. Not sure how it is going to work out as we are going
from a king to a queen size bed. Then we headed to Wal-Mart to get some more
shelf liner and a pizza to bake in the oven at the new house. Then we went back
to the 5th wheel to get another load of stuff. I never knew how much
stuff you could have in a 5th wheel until we started to move. At
6:30 pm I told Cheri I was done working and was ready for pizza. I sat down and
watched the NASCAR race I had recorded. Cheri kept working and finally made her
sit down at 8:00 pm. At 9:30 pm we crawled into bed and tried to watch some TV
but within a short time we were asleep.

Gay July-13-13

The first thing this
morning we went over to Wal-Mart to pick up Grandma’s medicine and also had to
pick up some shelf liners and more cleaning supplies for the new house. Cheri
packed up more tubs and I got them load in the van to take over to the new
house, it was around 10:00 am by the time we got there. Cheri continued working
on the kitchen cabinets and I cleaned up the washing machine as Cheri was ready
to do all the bedding. After lunch I headed back to the 5th wheel to
mow lawns. I got Bud’s done and just got started on ours when it started to
rain. I figured that I was all ready all wet with sweat that I would keep
mowing. Well I finally had to quit because the mower was getting plugged up
with wet grass. So after taking another shower I was ready to head back to the
new house. Cheri had a couple of loads of laundry done and was still working on
washing all the dishes, nice to have a dish washer. I helped her line the cupboards
and scrubbed some of the pots and pans before they went into the dish washer.
We move some of the furniture around in the living room to see how it would
fit. Now we have to move the davenport and love seat out into the sunroom and
bring in the davenport that is in the sun room. At 6:45pm we called it a day
and headed to Subway to have a sub for supper. When we got back to the 5th
wheel Cheri did some more packing and I finished mowing the lawn. At 8:00 pm we
said we had enough for the day. We have both found some muscles that we haven’t
used in a while as we both are hurting.

Gay July-12-13

I
woke up at 2:30 am and couldn’t get back to sleep; my mine was working overtime
and couldn’t get it to settle down. So I was up around 3:30 am and Cheri had
the same problem and was up a little after 5:00 am. I went up to Grandma’s to
get the tubs from under her park model so we could pack some stuff and take it
over to the new house. I had to wash all the tubs and that took a couple of
hours. Cheri did get a few tubs filled before she went for her pool exercise. I
was still washing and drying tubs when she got back. I loaded the van with
everything Cheri got packed and got done just as it started to rain. It was
around 11:30 am when we got to the new house. The rain didn’t last long, sure
nice to have a car port to park under.
Cheri gilled a couple of sandwiches for lunch and then we went work on
the kitchen cabinets. We took everything out of the cabinets and cleaned them
inside and out. I also took the broom and sweep the ceiling, can’t wash it
because it is a popcorn ceiling. Mike and Pam stopped by around 4:30 pm, sure
was glad to see them as it gave us a chance to sit down and rest for a bit.
After they left we continued to clean and pretty much have all the kitchen
cabinet washed. Cheri still has 4 drawers to clean and under the kitchen sink.
We have sorted through the stuff that was in the cabinets. Most of the stuff we
can use and don’t have to buy much. We got back to the 5th wheel
around 6:30 pm and had left over pizza for supper. We got very little rain at
the new house today but when we got back to the 5th wheel I see we
got an inch of rain here, strange because our new house is only about a mile
and a half as the crow flies.

Cheri
had a 9:00 am doctor’s appointment for her knee and Grandma had a 9:15 am
doctor’s appointment for her eyes. I first took Cheri and dropped her off and
then went and picked up Grandma and took her for her appointment. After Grandma
was done we went and picked up Cheri. We dropped Grandma off at home and then we
went home and changed clothes. Then we headed over to the new house to start
cleaning. On the way over we stopped at the grocery store to pick up a few
things so we could have lunch at the new house. The first thing Cheri did was
clean the refrigerator. Then we moved to the master bed room and master bath
room. That is where we spent the rest of the day and got them cleaned and ready
to go. Sometime this afternoon Direct TV was coming to move our TV service. I
got an automated phone call that they would be at the new house within 15
minutes. 50 minutes later I got another call saying they would be there in 15
minutes. Well 10 minutes later they did arrive. They had to put up a new dish
and it took about two hours to get everything done. I really like there new
setup as I can record a show and watch it on any TV and even pause it on one TV
and go to the next TV and press play and
continue to watch the show, pretty neat. It was after 6:00 pm when we left the
house and stopped at Pizza Hut for supper. Then we headed over to CVS to pick
up one of Grandma’s prescriptions and then to Wal-Mart to pick up another one
for her. The one at Wal-Mart wasn’t ready because they were out of that drug
and had to order it. On the way into the park we see Norm, Marlene, Mike, and
Mary setting outside so we stopped to visit. I have uploaded pictures of the
inside of the house before we started doing anything. That way I can have some
before and after pictures. Click on this link https://plus.google.com/photos/109645901863112014958/albums?banner=pwa&gpsrc=pwrd1#photos/109645901863112014958/albums/5897598002991135697 as I have added them to the New House album. Also
this morning a knock came at the door and it was Verizon to install the fiber cable
for our internet service. We told them that it was supposed to be at our new
house. After talking to them we found out there isn’t any fiber cable in the
park where our new house is. When I was on the phone with Verizon yesterday I told
them I didn’t think there was fiber cable in the park. Well they assured me
there was. So long story short we canceled the internet order. We have to check
with Bright House to see what they offer and the price for internet service.

There
comes a time in your life when it is time to make a change and that time has
come for Cheri and me. We didn’t do any traveling this summer as we were needed
here in Florida to take care of Grandma. She is going to need us to help her so
we have made the decision to close our chapter on traveling. We have done it
for eight years and wouldn’t trade the experience we have had for anything
else. We had planned on doing it for ten years, but that was just a plan we had
in our minds. We have done a lot of praying on what we need to do and we feel
that God has answered our prayers. The truck and 5th wheel still
have some value and think it is time to sell it and buy a home here in
Zephyrhills so we can be near Grandma and help her. One day Cheri and I were on
our way back from Wesley Chapel and I had remembered going by a 55 plus park
with a sign that said open home. We pulled in and the sales center was closed
so we picked up a paper that had the homes listed for sale and drove around the
park looking at them. When we returned to the sales office we met Kathy (sales
manager) and we told her we would like to look at three bedroom homes. We
looked at one and didn’t like what we saw. Cheri was telling Kathy that it had
to be a three bedroom so she could have a room for her quilting. Kathy said
that she had a two bedroom with a nice den. So we looked at it and thought it
was very nice. It was late in the afternoon and went back home and prayed about
what we should do. That evening we went out to eat with Mike and Pam and then
back to their place to play cards and were telling them about the home we looked
at. After a long discussion the four of us prayed about it and if it was Gods
will for us to have this home to have him open the doors for us and if we
shouldn’t close the doors. The next day we drove over as I wanted to talk to
the owner. Well he wasn’t home and so we drove down to the sales office and
nobody was there, so started to drive up by the house again when we saw Don
(manager) and asked him if we could see the house again. He said that he would
get the key and meet us at the house. We called Mike and Pam and they came over
to see the house and get their input. While we were looking at it the owner
came back so I got to talk to him about things. After checking over the house
again and finding out that it is fully furnished including dishes. We went down
to the sales office and made an offer and it was accepted. We signed papers and
Kathy sent an e-Mail to the bank. Of course this was on Saturday and would hear
anything until Monday. Well when we got home we got a call from the bank and
talked to them for a bit and told them what we wanted and told us right away
that we were accepted for a loan. Now we have to wait for the appraisal which
can take 4 to 6 weeks. Well the following Tuesday Kathy called us and said the
appraisal was done and should hear something by Friday or Monday. Well we did
hear from the bank on Wednesday and everything was a go to close on July 10. So
as you can see it was God’s plan for us to bless us with this house. After we
closed we went and got Grandma and took her over to see the house. We wanted
her to see and know about it before anyone else in the park knew about it. Then
we took Mike & Mary and Norm & Marlene over to see it. So as you can
see we have been busy the last few weeks getting thing ready for the new house
and didn’t want to put anything in the blog until it was a done deal. You can
see pictures of the outside of the house by clicking on this link: https://plus.google.com/photos/109645901863112014958/albums?banner=pwa&gpsrc=pwrd1#photos/109645901863112014958/albums/5897598002991135697
Later I will post pictures of the inside.

Once again Mike, Norm, and I worked on the Rec hall patio.
Things are looking better each day, I think it will still be two more days has
we didn’t get as much done today as I thought we would. It is good that this
project is coming to an end as I need to get back to waxing the 5th
wheel. Cheri continued working on her quilt project today and finished the last
block and now she has to put them together. We went out for a ride this
afternoon and did a few errands and had a couple of appointments. We have had
two days in a row that we haven’t had any rain. It is so nice to see the white
fluffy clouds. But it is already starting to get dry from all the rain we have
had. Being sandy ground it doesn’t hold the water very long. I probably have to
water lawns tomorrow. This evening we went out for ride down by Lakeland and
back and then stopped by Norm and Marlene’s to visit. It was another beautiful
day that God made for us.

Mike, Norm, and I worked on the Rec hall patio again today.
It really looked like we made some progress today. I think two more days and we
will be done. Cheri went to the pool for her exercise class. Her knee is still
not 100 percent but is doing better. Cheri did some laundry and worked on her
quilt project, she is now working on the fifth and final block. Then it will be
time for her to put them together. I thought it would take her a couple of
months to do this project but looks like she will have it done in less than a
month. Later this afternoon we made a trip to Wal-Mart to do some shopping and
also took a little ride. I also did some computer work and did some more
reading. I am reading a Clive Cussler book called Skeleton Coast. I have a hard
time putting it down as it is so good. I think today was the first day in a couple
of weeks that we didn’t get any rain, nice fluffy clouds and a warm 90 degrees.
This evening we did our walk down to Norm and Marlene’s to visit with them and
Mike & Mary. Bud & Verlin also stopped by. It was a beautiful day that
God made for us.

Gay July-7-13

Grandma went to church with
friends here in the park. Our church had a guest speaker and there wouldn’t be
a copy of the message for her to read. Our guess speaker was Naeem Fazal. He
pastor of the Mosaic Church in Charlotte, NC. His message was titled From Allah
to Jesus Christ. He was born and raised in Kuwait. He came to America after the
Gulf war in 1990. He told us how he found Jesus Christ and how Christians and Muslims
religions differ, it was very interesting. After church eight of us went to
Olive Garden for lunch. It was excellent and was the same Olive Garden we went
to a few weeks ago when we got such a bad lunch. I would like to think my
e-mail to them helped make the change. When we got home Cheri worked on her
quilt project and I went over to Ron and Sandy’s, Ron helped me recharge the
air conditioner in the van as it wasn’t putting out cold air. Well now it works
much better, thanks Ron for finishing the refrigerant and helping. When I got
home I took a break and read for a while and then around 4:00 pm I went out and
did some more waxing on the 5th wheel, it is now half done. This
evening we went down and visited with Mike and Mary and then the four of us
went over to visit with Norm and Marlene. A few nights ago they saw a couple of
flying squirrels and now have put out some corn for them; we got a chance to
see them this evening. It is the first time I have seen any since I was a kid
on the farm.

We
met Mike, Mary, Norm, and Marlene at Golden Coral at 9:30 am for breakfast. The
best place around for breakfast but can on get it on Friday, Saturday or
Sunday. When we got home Cheri went to work on her quilt project and I worked
on cleaning the 5th wheel awning and mowed the lawn. We skipped
lunch today because we had a big breakfast. This afternoon we finally got to go
see the movie White House Down after trying three times to see it. We finally got to see a good movie with
action and a good story line. I was beginning to think there weren’t any good
movies anymore. We stopped to see Grandma and drop of her mail and she is doing
well. We got a call from Pam wanting us to go out for dinner as it is Jenny and
Mason’s last night here before they leave in the morning for Tennessee. Ron and
Sandy were also there. When we got home Cheri went back to work on her quilt project
and I watched the NASCAR race. The race was pretty boring, but the last 30 laps
things started to heat up and made for a good race.

Gay July-5-13

The
weather forecast said no rain until around 2:00 pm. So I decided today was the
day to put the new CV joint and axle in the van. Cheri had to walk down to the
pool this morning because I already had the van apart when it was time for her
to leave. Things went pretty well with the van work until I was putting the
brake caliber back on and cross treaded a bolt. That took me an extra hour and
half as I had to run a tap though the housing and the go and get new bolts. It was
1:30 pm before I got done. I didn’t even take time to clean up the tools as it
was thundering and the sky was getting dark. By 2:00 pm it was pouring rain.
When I came in the house I had grease all over me and I thought maybe Cheri
would want to throw me away and get a new man, but I did clean up pretty good.
While I was cleaning up Ron and Sandy called and wanted to know if we wanted to
ride down to IKEA in Tampa. Cheri and I had been talking about going for a long
time so we met Ron and Sandy at Home Depot and rode with them. If you have
never been through an IKEA store, it is an adventure like walking through a
giant maze. On the way home we stopped at the Wing House for wings and salad.
Ron had told us how good the wings were there. Boy he sure was right, some of
the best wings we had. It was around 8:30 pm when we got home.

Gay July-4-13

Hope
that everyone enjoyed there day as much as we did. Cheri was up early this
morning in fact she was up before me. I think my snoring woke her up; anyway
she was working on her quilt. This morning Mike, Mary, Cheri and I went to Lakeland.
Mike and I dropped the girls off at Jo Ann Fabrics and then Mike and I headed
to Harbor freight for their 4th of July sale. I did buy a couple of
things that I may use sometime down the road. Mike wanted to go to get one
special tool that they had on sale and then after looking at he decided not to
get it. It was around 11:45 am when we got home and was time to get ready to go
down to the Rec hall for a potluck dinner. We had fried chicken and everyone
brought a dish to pass. There were around 35 people and was a good time. We
stayed and helped clean up and got home around 3:00 pm. Cheri and I decided to
go see the 4:00 pm movie we were going to go to yesterday. It is White House
Down. Well when we got to the theater parking lot it was almost full of cars
and decided to skip the movie. We figured it would be very crowded and wouldn’t
be able to get a good seat. It started raining again before we got back home
and ended up getting ¾ inch of rain for the day. We didn’t go to watch any
fireworks; the rain may have put a damper on it.

I
went out early this morning to do some more washing on the 5th
wheel. Yah I am done washing the 5th wheel!!(Look up stupid you
still have the awning to wash) I guess that will get done another day. I went
in and took my shower and got all cleaned up. Then I thought I better mow the
lawns as it hadn’t started to rain. I got the lawns mowed and all the trimming
done and everything put away just before it started to rain. Then it was time
to take another shower, another two shower day. Cheri did her exercise class
and is now working on her quilt project. I am done for the day, maybe a little
reading and a nap. We decided to take in the 4:00 pm movie and were about ready
to leave when we got company from across the street. We did go to Wal-Mart to
pick up Grandma’s medicine and a few groceries. Cheri fixed some of our Alaskan
Halibut for supper; don’t think we very much left. We have a road trip planned
for tomorrow morning with Mike & Mary and Norm & Marlene. So we went to
visit with them this evening to see what time we are going to leave. It was
another wonderful day that God made for us.

We
got more rain this morning and on and off the rest of the day. I went out and
did some more washing on the 5th wheel. I did get a little damp from
the showers but it felt good as it was so hot and humid, one more day of
washing and that part will be done. Then I have the rest of the waxing to do.
Cheri managed to get her exercise class in before it rained. I took my second
shower this afternoon and then Cheri and I went to see the movie Man of Steel.
A couple of people had told us how good it was. Well Cheri and I thought it was
terrible. I knew it was going to be a far out movie but the whole movie could
have been done in 30 minutes instead of 2 ½ hours, think we are too old for the
computer generated parts. We still have a couple of more movies we want to go
and see, so if it keeps raining we will go for another movie, thinking about
White House Down. At 6:00 pm Cheri and I went down to the Rec hall to help set
up tables for the Fourth of July potluck dinner. I think there will be
somewhere around thirty five people. Cheri finished another quilt block this
morning and now working on number three. We lost power early this evening for
about an hour. We ended up getting just under a 1 ½ inches of rain today.

It
seem like it was just the other day that I was saying I can’t believe it is the
first of June and now here its July, how time flies by when you are on the
downhill side of life. It was another rainy day. I need a day without rain so I
can mow lawns and it doesn’t look good the rest of the week. I dropped Cheri
off at the pool this morning before the rain started and took Grandma to the
doctor so she could get her B-12 shot. When we were coming back into the park
it was just starting to rain and Cheri was starting to walk home from the pool
so my timing was good. This afternoon we had a few errands to run and then we
went see the movie The Heat. It had an R rating but was much worse than that.
If they would have cut out all the bad language it would have been a silent
movie, even the music was bad. It was the worse Sandra Bullock movie we have
seen and we like Sandra Bullock. Late this afternoon Cheri did some more work
on her quilt project. Between rain showers we walked down to visit with the
gang this evening.

We
picked up Grandma at 9:00 am and headed to church. Pastor Dean’s message was on
Love and was a continuing message from last week. It was a great series. Get
your Bible out and read 1 Corinthians 13 (your lesson for the day). Just think how much better we all
could be. After church seven of us went out for lunch at Golden Corral, for me
it was dinner because I always eat too much when going there. We had rain off
and on all day so it was a stay inside and be lazy day which wasn’t hard for me
to do. I watched the NASCAR race that got rained out last night. Cheri worked
on her quilt project.
