The
weather forecast said no rain until around 2:00 pm. So I decided today was the
day to put the new CV joint and axle in the van. Cheri had to walk down to the
pool this morning because I already had the van apart when it was time for her
to leave. Things went pretty well with the van work until I was putting the
brake caliber back on and cross treaded a bolt. That took me an extra hour and
half as I had to run a tap though the housing and the go and get new bolts. It was
1:30 pm before I got done. I didn’t even take time to clean up the tools as it
was thundering and the sky was getting dark. By 2:00 pm it was pouring rain.
When I came in the house I had grease all over me and I thought maybe Cheri
would want to throw me away and get a new man, but I did clean up pretty good.
While I was cleaning up Ron and Sandy called and wanted to know if we wanted to
ride down to IKEA in Tampa. Cheri and I had been talking about going for a long
time so we met Ron and Sandy at Home Depot and rode with them. If you have
never been through an IKEA store, it is an adventure like walking through a
giant maze. On the way home we stopped at the Wing House for wings and salad.
Ron had told us how good the wings were there. Boy he sure was right, some of
the best wings we had. It was around 8:30 pm when we got home.
