After yesterday Cheri and I were pretty lazy this morning, me more than Cheri. Cheri did laundry and headed for the sewing room to work on her new sewing project, a table runner for Easter. I did some computer work and copied a couple of music CD’s for Pam and Mike. Than listened to Ann Murray’s CD (What a Wonderful World), love to hear her sing gospel music. At 2:30 pm Mike and Pam picked us up to go to the Strawberry Festival. Being it was cold we went later only to see the Shoji Tabuchi show which we had bought tickets for back in January. The show was very good but was only an hour long. I thought it should have been at least an hour and a half. We have tickets for the Kellie Pickler show next week, hopefully the weather will be better and we can look around at everything they have at the Strawberry Festival. After we left we looked for a place to eat and ended up at Carrabba’s Italian Grill. Cheri and I had never been to Carrabba’s before, Mike and Pam told us that there are a lot of them; we live such a sheltered life. We were back home by around 6:30 pm. Cheri was cold so she got a blanket and curled up in her recliner. We watched a little TV and called it a night.

We were up early this morning and left for Orlando at 7:00 am. Bruce and Jeannie are staying in a time share condo and we made plans to go and do the Holy Land Experience with them. Cheri and I had been there a few years ago and they were in the process of building a new theater. Well the theater is done and what a beautiful building. All their show productions use to be outside, now everything is done in the new theater and don’t have to worry about rain. And that was the case today as it rained off and on all day while we were there. They open at 10:00 am and we were there for the opening and didn’t leave until 6:00 pm which is the time they close and still didn’t get to see everything. If you are ever in Orlando it is a must thing to do. For more information go to their web site at www.holylandexperience.com From there we went to Mimi’s Café for supper which was close by the Holy Land Experience which was a good thing because when we crossed over I-4 the traffic was bumper to bumper going in both directions. Our food was very good but had to wait as they were short on waiters and waitress. By the time we got done eating and on the road the traffic was moving along with no waiting. We dropped Bruce and Jeannie off at their time share and said our good byes and headed for home. It rained all the way and got home around 9:30 pm. We were really tired and headed to bed. It was a wonderful day that God made and got to experience some of the amazing things he has done.

I left the house at 7:20 am in order to be at Tire Kingdom at 7:30 am to have the front end alignment on the van. Mike L volunteered to pick Cheri up at 8:20 am and drop her off at the pool for her pool exercise. An hour later and the van was done, I thought it would take at least two hours to get it done. I sure was surprised when they came and told me it was done. On the way home I stopped and filled up with gas and left the van at the pool for Cheri and then walked home. When Cheri got home she disappeared in the sewing room again. I went to the shed to install the skill saw on my new True Trac system. Just as I was about done Cheri came out to show me her latest sewing project, what a beautiful tote bag. I finished with the True Trac just before noon. After lunch I cleaned up the mess I made setting up the True Trac system. Then it was time for me to go and get Grandma for her 1:30 pm doctor’s appointment. Then a miracle happened, we got to see the doctor on time. Grandma got a good report from the doctor. Then we stopped at the bank for her and then back to her place to put the next appointments on the calendar. When I got home Cheri was busy on a new sewing project. I went outside and put a coat of sealer on the barn quilt. Soon it was time to met Mike and Pam for supper at Panera Bread. After supper they came back to our place to play Hand, Knee, and Foot. Mike and I were the big winners. We also played one game of SOB that I won.

Cheri did her pool exercise class this morning and I did some computer work. After Cheri got home she disappeared in to the sewing room, she is working on another quilt and sewing project. I headed out to Auto Zone to pick up the new struts; they were waiting for me just as they promised they would be. I got home at 11:00 am and started on putting them in. I had one done by 12:30 pm and took a break for lunch. The second one went in a little easier. After I got done I told Cheri I was going to go to Tire Kingdom to see about getting it lined up again. I got an appointment tomorrow for 2:15 pm and when I got home I see Grandma has a doctor’s appointment at 1:30 pm. So I called Tire Kingdom to see about getting my appointment changed, they said to come in at 7:30 am and I could be the first one to be done. I was done for the day and took a shower and sat down in the recliner to watch some TV, but napped instead. Cheri reappeared from the sewing room around 5:00 pm to fix supper. This evening we picked up Mike and Mary and when over to Baker Acers to visit with Norm and Marlene one more time before they leave tomorrow. We got home around 8:30 pm and tried to watch some TV without success, so we went to bed.

I think spring has sprung in Florida; it was in the 80’s today. We picked up Grandma and headed for church. After church we along with some of our Life Group fiends went out for lunch at the Hibachi Grill in Wesley Chapel. Church had gotten out early so when we got there it didn’t open until 11:30 am. So the ladies went shopping for a half hour over at Beall’s and Mike G and I walked over to a Minnie Copper car show. It was very interesting and saw some that I never knew they made. Then we headed back to the Hibachi Grill to wait for Pam, Sandy, and Cheri to return from their little shopping trip. We had a great meal and will be going back again. After lunch we drove by Ron and Sandy’s to see how the new garage was coming. The rafters are up and side walls are sheeted. After we dropped Grandma off we went to Auto Zone to see about getting the new struts for the van. They wanted a lot more for them then they did at Pep Boy’s. Long story short they ordered them for me and met Pep Boy’s price. They are supposed to be in by 10:30 tomorrow. When we got home I settled in to watch the Daytona Five Hundred. Cheri played some games on her I-Pad and took a nap. I was just getting into the race when there was a rain delay. So we watched other shows that we had recorded. The race didn’t get started again until 8:30 pm. Cheri gave up around 10:30 pm and headed for bed. I managed to watch the race until the end and got to bed around midnight.

It was a relaxing morning having coffee and breakfast with Brian and Linda before they left and headed home. Cheri had a coupon to use at Beall’s so I dropped her off there while I went to Lowe’s to get a new saw blade for my skill saw. I just got into the store when someone tapped me on the shoulder. I turned around and it was Mike L. He was there picking up some materials for a kitchen cabinet project he is working on. We had a discussion on what the best saw blades were to use, gave me some good pointers. I showed him the table saw that I was planning on buying in the near future; Mike said that the guy he is doing the cabinets for has one for sale. Long story short Mike is going to see about getting it for me. It poured rain while I was in Lowe’s and still had to make a dash for the van to keep from getting too wet. By the time I got to Beall’s to pick up Cheri it was over. Cheri was happy as she found a pair of white sandals she had been look for. Ron is building his garage today and we planned on going out to see the progress and thought that it would be a wasted trip because of the rain. Well we got out of town a little ways and the ground was dry, no rain. When we got to Ron’s the walls were all framed and were waiting for a crane to set the rafters. I took some pictures and then headed home for a late lunch. Norm and Marlene are moving to Lake Placid on Tuesday so we along with Mike and Mary we took them out for supper at Fred’s in Lakeland (good southern cooking). On the way home we dropped the gales off at Jo-Ann Fabrics while we guys went to Pep Boy’s. I need to get new struts for the front of the van. I had checked on line and they were $119 each and when I got to the store they wanted $159 each. I said thank you and left. We picked up the girls and headed for home. After we got home Cheri called one of her old girl friends that winters down here in Florida. So they (Pat and Roger) will be coming to visit for the day on Friday. We watched a little TV and called it a night.

Ok I said I wasn’t going to Wal-Mart any more until the snow birds leave. Well I went this morning, I mean I was in Wal-Mart at 6:15 am. I was surprised as there were a few people shopping. I enjoyed myself getting the things we needed. So from now on I will be going there real early in the morning. Cheri went for her pool exercise this morning and said the water was much better, not so cold. Later we were busy getting ready for our company Brian and Linda Rezny; they are our financial advisors (Rezny Wealth Management, Inc.). They have been our advisors for around twelve years. We try to get together once a year and they wanted to see our new home, so they came up to spend some time with us. We had a late lunch after they got here and then we went for a little ride to show them around our fair city, them back to the house to visit and go over our financial portfolio. At 5:00 pm we headed out to Lakeland to eat at Harry’s Seafood Bar and Grill for some good New Orleans food. I was surprised how busy they were. We were told it would be about a 45 minute wait, so we went to the bar and had a couple of drinks. It was well worth the wait, the food was excellent. Brian and Linda commented several times how good it was and that we needed to come back again. It was around 8:30 pm when we got home. We visited until 10:00 pm and decided it was time for bed.

It was a busy day at the Sharps household today. Cheri started laundry first thing this morning before coffee and breakfast. After breakfast we headed to Tampa to pick up our new dining room chairs that we had ordered. Cheri was excited about getting them and is very happy with them. On the way home we stopped by Norm and Marlene’s to see about delivering our old dining room table and chairs to their storage building. Then home to unload the chairs and load up the old table and chairs. Then it was time for me to take the van in for a front end alignment. I called Marlene and told her we were ready to deliver the table and chairs, she said that Norm was at the doctor and would call us when he got home. So I headed home to wait for the call. It was only a short time before Marlene called and we met them at their storage building. After we were done with that they came over to see our new chairs. Shortly after they left Ross came in to show me his 1977 MG. Boy it is really nice. After he left it was time for us to meet Larry and Denise at Golden Corral for supper. It has been a long time since we have been there. After we eat Larry and Denise came back to our place to see the chairs and play cards. Mike and Mary came while we were play cards so we took a break to visit with them. After they left we went back to playing cards. We played two games and Larry and I were the big winners again.

It was a perfect day in the neighborhood today, lots of sunshine and a high of 80 degrees. Just the kind of day I like for the motor cycle ride I had planned. There were seven of us on the ride and we headed for Crystal River by way of all the back roads. We have made so many trips that I can’t find any new roads just the same ones in a different order. Our end destination was the Harley dealer in Crystal River. We eat our cheap lunch at McDonalds; well it did cost $2.14 which is more than last year. Our ride was 156 miles and got home around 4:00 pm. Cheri had gotten an e-mail this morning that Denise wasn’t coming over because she had things that she needed to get done before they leave for Canada. Well as it turned out Cheri e-mail her and in the end Denise came over and the finished putting her quilt project together and then they went out shopping and to get a few groceries. This evening was our Life Group gathering; love our discussion after the video. It is always a great day when you learn about God’s word.

I plan on hanging the TV on the wall in the bedroom so I made template of the TV and put it up on the wall to see how it would look and how high we want it. I am going to leave it up for a few days to make sure we have it at the right height. Then it was time to take Grandma for her doctor’s appointment. It was another one of those appointments that didn’t go well. She was to have her B-12 shot and they didn’t have the medicine. So the nurse got us a prescription for the medicine and we went to CVS, they were nice enough to get it ready for me right away as Grandma was waiting in the car. Then it was back to the doctor’s office to with the medicine to have her shot. It was after noon before I got home for lunch. Cheri was having a down day, so she rested and watched the Olympics. I was supposed to have a security meeting at 1:00 pm. I went and told Mike that I wasn’t going as I needed to get the parts for the van. So I headed to Auto Zone and they had everything I needed. When I got home I went right to work installing the new parts. I was about a third done when Larry and Denise stopped by. So Larry put on the coveralls and helped me. After we were done Cheri and Denise thought we should go to Pizza Hut for supper. After supper we came back to our place to play cards. Larry and I won the two games we played. It has been a long time since we have won all the games. We had to quit early as Mike and I had security duty this evening. It is the first night since last fall that we didn’t freeze while doing our ride around the park in the golf cart.

After we had coffee and breakfast it was time for Bruce and Jeannie to leave. We had a really great time while they were here and the time went by so fast. After they left Cheri started some laundry and then we headed out to see about buying a new washing machine and dryer. Our first stop was at Lowe’s, no luck there and didn’t get much help so our next stop was Home Depot. We had a very nice lady work with us told us about each washing machine. We change our mind on the one we thought would work the best for us. Now the one we are pretty sure we will be buying is the LG model. But before we buy I needed to do some searching on the internet checking the reviews of the machine. While we were there Cheri got a call that a pattern she order at the quilt shop in Plant City was in so we headed there to pick it up. And we had to go right past Parkesdale Farm Market (well almost) so we stopped to have strawberry shortcake. We headed for home after picking up the pattern. The van has developed a shake like a tire was out of balance and I found that the right front tire hadn’t been tighten the last time I had service done. So I went and bought a use wheel at the salvage yard and then went to Tire Kingdom to have a new tire installed. They told me it would be a couple of hours before they could get to it, so I left the wheel and told them I would be back later to have it put on the van. I went over to Baker Acers to visit Bud and Joyce to check and see if Bud was going on our Wednesday motorcycle ride. Then it was back to get the tire put on the van. While I was there they checked the front end alignment and they told me that the inter tire rods needed to be replaced. They told me the tire rods were 50 dollars each and with installation and front end alignment it would be 410 dollars. I told them that I would see about replacing the tire rods myself. When I got home I checked and found the tire rods for 23 dollars each. I also check the reviews on the LG washing machine and all the reviews I read was very good. Cheri watched the Olympics while I was getting the car done.

We knew we would have Bruce and Jeannie here on Sunday and wasn’t sure if we would be going to church or not so Grandma set it up to go to church with her friends. Bruce and Jeannie did want to go to church with us so it was the four of us. I was disappointed with church today, thought there was too much advertisement and not enough teaching. After church the four of us went to Bob Evans for lunch and was very good. On the way home we rode around our park showing Bruce and Jeannie what it was like and some of the houses that are for sale. After we got home we changed our clothes and headed to the airport as on the way home from church we saw a couple gliders in the air. Bruce as a love for airplanes and wanted to see the gliders and skydivers. We weren’t disappointed as we got to see three gliders take off and others land, had a nice visit with a couple of the club members. The glider club is right next door to Sky Dive City. Which met we got to see a lot of skydivers come down. They had two large planes and one small plane taking them up. The Planes would be on the ground only long enough for them to load up for the next ride. Cheri got tired and wanted to go back to the van to sit and watch from there and asked me to the van keys. That was when the excitement started for me as I didn’t have them which met that I had locked them in the van (something that old people do) After some work with a cloths hanger and a pry bar we got the door unlocked. After all the excitement we headed home to watch the Olympics. Cheri fixed pizza for supper and then we spent the rest of the evening watching more of the Olympics.

After a relaxing morning sitting around visiting and drinking coffee it was time to get out and about. Jeanne and Cheri headed out shopping at Beall's and Hobby Lobby. They eat lunch at Panera Bread. Bruce and I headed to Fantasy of Flight. It is about 30 miles from here in Polk City. It is a very active museum of all different airplanes. There is somewhere around 150 airplanes and they all have been refurbished to their original condition. Plus they all are flyable. The owner Kermit Weeks was there today and talked to us, giving a little history of his life and the plans he has for his museum. He also flew a P-51 Mustang that was built in 1945. He did several fly by’s plus a couple of four point barrel rolls. Bruce and I were so wrapped up in seeing all the airplanes that we forgot about having lunch until 3:00 pm. We got to visit the warehouse that is full of engines, the wood shop where they rebuild all the wooden parts and in some case the whole plane. We also got into the fabricating shop and the maintenance shop. After looking at all the planes on display we went through two very large warehouses that were full of airplanes that needed to be restored. We were told that with the people they have now working on restoration that it would take 3,000 years to get them all done. It was after 4:00 pm when Bruce and I left for home. What enjoyable day it was and I know I need to go back again and take more time to read about each airplane. We had leftover lasagna for supper which we eat late because of the late lunch that Bruce and I had. We spent the rest of the evening watching the Olympics. It was another great day that God made for us.

Happy Valentines to everyone and hope you all had a fun filled day. What a fun filled day it was for us. Bruce needed an oil change in their car so we dropped it off at the Buick dealer this morning. From there the four of us headed to see the manatees, something Bruce and Jeanne hadn’t seen before. The weather has been cold so there were probable a couple hundred of them swimming around in the warm water coming out of the power plant. From there we headed to Plant City to have the famous strawberry shortcake at Parkesdale Farm market. They had heard about the strawberry shortcake from a friend back in Wisconsin; love it when a plan comes together. Then we headed for the airport back in Zephyrhills to see about getting Bruce a ride in an altralites they hadn’t planned on giving rides today but made a call and had a guy come in to give Bruce a ride. While we were waiting for the guy to come we went over to the other side of the airport to watch the sky divers come down. Then back for Bruce’s ride. I guess he really enjoyed the ride because when they came back he had is thumb up and a big smile on his face. From there we went to pick up Bruce and Jeanne’s car. We got home just in time to get ready to go out for dinner. The four of us along with Larry and Denise headed to Lakeland to have dinner at Longhorn Steak house. Forty seven years ago today I asked Cheri to merry me. So it was our night to celebrate with friends. The day started out on the cool side but with a clear sky and lots of sunshine it soon warm up to be a perfect day for us.

I don’t think it got to 60 degrees today, but I do know it was very windy and not a day that I wanted to be out in. Yesterday I told Grandma that I would take her to Wal-Mart as she had a few things she needed. Well Cheri also needed some things so we went over to get Grandma and she gave us a list of what she needed. I keep saying I am not going to Wal-Mart during the day but here we were again around 10:30 am which was also a bad time. I think most of the people in Zephyrhills were there, plus many very rude people. Maybe it is just me getting older and you know how old people are. When we got home Cheri went to work in the kitchen making Lasagna and homemade peanut butter cookies. Around 2:00 pm we got a call from Bruce and Jeannie Braaksma from Wisconsin. Letting us know that they were in Ocala heading our way. They are going to spend a few days with us. They arrived around 3:30 pm. We had a wonderful time catching up since we last seen them. Nineteen years ago Cheri and I built a new house and we had done a lot of checking on builders and Bruce was the one we picked and we became good friends over the years.

I picked up Grandma at 10:00 am and took her for her doctor’s appointment. Her appointment was for 10:15 am and didn’t see the doctor until 11:15 am. I haven’t had very good luck taking her for doctor’s appointments as we have had to wait so long before seeing the doctors. And we had company coming to see us and Grandma. But in the end everything worked out as we got back here just before Jim and Jeanette arrived. Jeanette and I go back a long ways as we were friends before we went to grade school. It sure was good to see them, after Cheri gave them a tour of the house we went to Dade City for to have Mexican for lunch and then back to Grandma’s to visit. While we were visiting it started to rain and it came down in buckets. Around 5:00 pm it was time for Jim and Jeanette to head back to Fort Myers. So we headed home so they could pick up their car. We said a quick good bye and they were on their way. It was sure good to see them again and catch up on the past year. I just went out to check the rain gage and we got just over an inch of rain.

It was a beautiful day with lots of sunshine and temps near 80 degrees. It was a good day for the motorcycle ride that I had planned. I was disappointed that there were only three of us (Larry, Mike T, and myself) as I was expecting that there would be seven of us. Well the ride was great and we rode through some nice country to Bradenton. We stopped for lunch at McDonald’s and then over to the Harley dealer and dreamed about what it would be like to have a new bike. Well that was short lived as we left on the ones we rode in on. 190 miles later we arrived home at 4:30 pm. Denise came over this morning with her quilt project. Cheri helped her as she was having problems. Cheri had just got done doing one like what Denise was doing and was able to help her. They had just finished with all the hard parts when Larry and I got home. After Larry and Denise left we rested for a bit before Cheri fixed supper. We watched some TV or I should say Cheri did as I couldn’t stay awake. All the fresh air and the ride today made me tired. God blessed us with a beautiful day.

Beautiful ride.

It is still on the cool side this morning; Cheri was going to go for her pool exercise and got a call from Mary saying that the water was cold so they canceled for the day. Cheri wanted to go to Plant City to look at bedroom dressers and stop at the quilt shop. I sent an e-mail to Larry and Denise to see if they wanted to ride along, got an answer right back that they would go. So we pick them up at 10:00 am and headed out on a road trip. Cheri found a dresser she really liked at Southern Hospitality. Cheri took all the information so she could check it out at other stores. After a stop at the quilt shop we headed over to Parkesdale’s Farms for their famous straw berry shortcake which is always very good. Then we drove over to Tampa to stop by Direct Buy to see about the dresser Cheri wanted. They were closed so we headed back to Larry and Denise’s to play cards. We played two hands of Hand, Knee and Foot when Larry and Denise got a call that some people want to see their motor home, so we left so they could get things ready for them. On the way home we decided to go and get haircuts. By the time we got home it was supper time and then we settled in for an evening of TV. It was a wonderful day in the neighborhood that God made for us.

Our day started on the cool side but warm up to the 70’s with lots of sunshine although it was a bit breezy. Grandma went to church with us. I had a hard time with the message, my mind would keep drifting to something else and then I would be back in it for a while and then I was thinking about something I wanted to do. So I wasn’t a very good church person today. After church nine of us went to Olive Garden for lunch. We had a great lunch of soup and salad and the bread sticks were the best. After we got home Cheri relaxed and put ice on her knee as it has really been bothering her the last few days. I worked on the barn quilt and got the trim put on it and now it is ready for the seal coats of varnish. Later this afternoon Norm and Marline stop by for a visit. They were supposed to close on their house last week and things didn’t go well for them as the survey should that the well is in the utility easement. So it was another hold up for them and now they think maybe this week they can close, it has been a long drawn out process for them. After they left we settled in to watch TV, watch several episodes of Under Cover Boss. We were both tired and went to bed early and watch TV in bed. Started watching an Alaska adventure and finally shut the TV off at 11:00 pm.

It was another nasty rainy day; I am so ready for some sunshine. Cheri needed to go to Beall’s this morning, so while she was in there I went to Tractor Supply that is next door which is nice for us men. Then we picked up Larry and Denise and headed for Lakeland. I dropped Cheri and Denise off at Jo-Ann’s fabrics and Larry and I went to Harbor Freight. Larry had several coupons for free items. So we did some shopping while we were there. I checked out the TV wall mounts and they were one dollar cheaper but didn’t look as good as the one I looked at when I was in Sam’s yesterday. Larry and I didn’t buy anything but got a couple of his free things. On the way back to pick up the girls we stopped at Best Buy to check the TV mounts and their price was way too high. We walked next door to check on the girls and they were waiting in line to get some material cut and then there was a long line to pay for it. When we left there we headed for Sam’s where I bought my TV mount plus some ink for my printer as I had run out yesterday. We had a late lunch of pizza at Sam’s. On the way home we stopped at Harbor Freight again so Larry could get the rest of his free things. After dropping Larry and Denise it was time to get home and for us to work on the music CD’s. While Cheri was writing on the CD’s I made a trip to Staple’s to get some CD cases. I thought I had a lot of them but not enough for the project we are working on. We finished the CD’s at 8:30 pm and then settled in to watch some TV with a bowl of ice cream.

We had rain on and off again today and just cold enough that you needed to have a jacket on while out and about. After I had my coffee and breakfast I went back to work on the music CD project. At 11:00 am we headed for Wesley Chapel where Cheri had a 12:00 pm massage, we were half an hour early but we thought that she might be able to get in early. So I went over to Sam’s which was close by to look around. I checked out the TV wall mounts as we plan on hanging the TV in the bedroom on the wall, $35 for the mount which I didn’t think was too bad. I didn’t buy it as this is the first place I have looked and need to check it out at some other places. I did buy a couple of things and was tired of looking so I went back to wait for Cheri. Well she was late getting in for her massage and didn’t get done until near 1:30 pm. On the way home we stopped by Staples as I needed some heavy copy paper and some blank CD’s for my music project. When we got home I e-mailed Larry and Denise to come over and play cards. Their company left this morning and it seems like it has been months since we last seen them. Cheri made some cheesy potato soup to have along with a grill cheese and ham sandwich. I worked on the music project while we played a game of Hand, Knee, and Foot that Cheri and Denise won. After we eat it was time for Larry and I to win a game, well that that didn’t happen so we decide to play a game of pinochle, Larry and I finally won a game. Larry and Denise left early as they were tired from their company and need to get rested up. I continued with the music project and should have it done sometime tomorrow.

Well by the lateness of the blog yesterday you know I didn’t get up very early, in fact I slept in until 7:45 am which is very unusual for me. I also had computer trouble and had to get my tech support to work on the computer which took all day. Cheri worked on getting things together for taxes. I worked on doing paper cutouts of the washing machine and the walls to make sure I will have enough room for everything. It was a good thing that I did this because I have made some more changes and now is the time to do it before I start and then find out that it isn’t what Cheri and I want. I made a trip to Lowe’s to get the trim for the barn quilt Cheri has painted. I got it cut; Cheri got it painted so tomorrow I should be able to get the trim on, then it will be ready for Cheri to put the seal coats on it. Finally around 6:00 pm I got the computer back and things are working better and much faster. I worked on doing some music CD’s for Pam. It wasn’t a very nice day, short on sunshine and breezy plus a couple of rain showers.

Our day started with coffee and visiting with Bro and Katherine which was short because it was time for them to get ready and leave, we have had so much fun with them the last few days. After they left Cheri went to work doing laundry and cleaning to get ready for company that will arrive next week. I did some computer work and then made a call to Camping World to check and see if they had received the 5th wheel title from the bank as it has been two weeks since the loan was paid. They said that they were still waiting and would call me when they received it. Well about 30 minutes later they called back and said that they just received the title. Cheri and I had to sign the title so rather then wait on the mail we drove down and sign the title and they gave us a check for the balance. Our next stop was to bank to deposit the check. Cheri wanted to stop at a second hand furniture store; she is looking for an old dresser for our bedroom. She found one that would work but not what she really wants and is going to keep looking. On the way home we stopped by Mike and Mary’s, it has been over a week since we last seen them. After fixing some of the world’s problems we headed for home. Cheri continued to do laundry and cleaning. I on the other hand did some more checking on things and tips that Bro gave me. This evening was our Life Group gathering. I always look forward to being with Life Group friends and learning about God. We had met Mike and Pam at Walgreens, they road over with us. It was another great day God made for us. (Yes I know this is late, I slept in this morning, remember I am retired and can do that).

It was another slow relaxing morning drinking coffee and visiting at the kitchen table with Katherine and Bro, we have had so many old stories and laughs. We finally got around and were ready to face the world by 10:00 am. Katherine and Cheri were off to Beall’s to shop. Bro and I were right behind them as Bro wanted get some new sneakers. After Bro got the sneakers we headed to Lakeland to shop at Harbor Freight. I had a set of drill bits to return as there were a couple missing in the set. Bro gave me a lot of tips on some of the things I had been looking to buy. In the end our total for both of was less than ten dollars. We stopped at Subway for lunch, never can go wrong eating at Subway. On the way home Bro was telling about a good way to build cabinets and doors. So we went to Lowe’s so Bro could show me some of the equipment I should be buying. We also looked at table saws and he told be the proper way they should be set up. So I got some very good tips today. When we got back home Katherine and Cheri showed us the purchases that they made. Then we played one hand of Hand, Knee, and Foot showing Bro and Katherine how to play again. Then it was time to go and pick up Grandma and head to Dade City to eat at the Mexican restaurant. I was disappointed with the meal, it didn’t seem like there was any flavor to the food, and Cheri felt the same way as I did. We were surprised as it always been very good. When we got back to Grandma’s we played one game of SOB. Then it was time to head for home. It was another wonderful day in the neighborhood that God made for us.

We had a great morning lounging, visiting, and drinking coffee with good friends. Around 10:00 am we headed for Webster for the flea market, something that we wanted Bro and Katherine to see. It was the first time we have been there with the car so we were going to get the Aggravation game board. Well the guy that sells them wasn’t there. So we will have to wait for another time. We had light lunch there at one of the food vendors because we knew we were going out for a big meal this evening. When we got home everyone was tired and needed a power nap before we went to pick up Grandma to go for supper at Harry’s Sea Food Bar and Grille. The food was excellent as it always is. It was near 8:00 pm when we got back to Grandma’s. We played one game of dominos that Grandma won. It was near 10:00 pm before we got home. It was a wonderful day that God provide us with to be with friends.

Our great weather is back, lots of sunshine and a temp in the 80’s. We picked up Grandma and took her to church with us. The message today was on how to be more like God. It gives us all something to work towards. After church the three of us along with Ron and Sandy went to the Island Breeze for lunch. It is only the second time we have been there. I like what I had the first time we were there so I ordered it again, in fact Cheri and I shared it. We brought Grandma home with us so she could watch the Super Bowl and spend time with our company (Bro and Katherine) from Wisconsin are staying with us for a few days. Katherine’s mother and dad where close friends of my mother and dad and goes back to when I was born, so we kids have remained friends over the many years. It is fun reminiscing about the pass and the fun we had. Grandma was tired so I took her home at half time. The game turned out about the way I thought it would be, didn’t think it would be so lop sided. Of course the best part of the game was the commercials. We thought the best were the two Doritos commercials. I guess the ground hog saw is shadow which means more winter.

We finally got a day with no rain, a much better day then were forecasted. We even had sunshine off and on all day with a temp into the 80’s. This morning I washed the sand off my paver project. I still need to do the landscaping around the outside of the pavers. Cheri finished painting the barn quilt. Now she has to put on a couple of coats of sealer, I also have to make a piece of trim to go around the outside of it. We left the house at 12:15 pm to meet friends from the 2008 and 2012 Alaskan tour groups plus one couple that is going this year at Plant City for strawberry shortcake. Then it was back to the rally for more visiting. Spike had a catered in dinner of barbeque chicken and ribs along with apple pie alamode for desert. Cheri took some of her quilts that she had made over the last year to show the other quilters and friends. Spike talked about what the new people would be seeing and telling funny things that had happen over the years he has been doing the caravan tours. Spike also had a magician put on a magic show; he was very good and funny. It was tough saying good bye to all of our Alaskan caravan friends and already looking forward to next year when we can be together again. A big thank you to Alaskan RV Tours (Spike) for making this happen.

It was another rainy day but the temp was a little better and not so windy. All of this crappie weather is depressing and I just don’t feel like doing anything. Cheri and I worked on the painting of the barn quilt. I did the tape masking for her and she did the painting. We had to quit before the painting was done as it was time to get ready and head to Lazy Day’s for our Alaska rally. It was so good to see a lot of our Alaska caravan friends. We got to meet a few new people that are going on the caravan this year and was answering questions that they had. The hardest thing for me was telling Spike (Alaskan caravan owner) that we wouldn’t be able to do the tail gunning next year. I was so looking forward to another Alaskan caravan trip. Before we left we made plans to meet tomorrow at 1:00 pm for strawberry short cake with our friends from our 2008 and 2012 trip plus one couple that is going this year.
