First I need to wish our
daughter Nikki a happy birthday. It was a busy day working in the kitchen. I
got the rest of the old cabinets removed. Plus I got the new sink base cabinet
ready to install after drilling all the holes for the water and waste lines. It
was 4:00 pm when I got done. I need to go to Lowe’s tomorrow to get the
plumbing supplies I need to install the water and waste lines. Cheri continued cleaning
up the messes I made removing the old cabinets and also worked in her sewing
room and has finished an apron project. We met Mike and Pam at Panera Breads
for supper. After supper they came over to see how much we have done with the
new cabinets.

We didn’t get much work
done today as we had so many other things going on. I did get the last upper
cabinet installed and door and drawer pulls installed. Mel stopped by to check
out our cabinets and to visit for a while. I had to take Grandma for her heart doctor
follow from her chemical stress test. She got a good report and no big changes
in her heart. Cheri got a call that her new glasses were in so we headed to
Wesley Chapel to pick them up. The verdict is still out as she needs to wear
them for a while to see if it will fix the double vision problem. Our next stop
was Wal-Mart to pick up groceries and medicine for Grandma. While we were there
we got our flu shots which was a mistake getting them there as they didn’t seem
to know what they were doing and took at least 45 minutes, we weren’t happy
campers. We dropped off Grandma’s groceries and medicine and had just enough
time to go home and get our Bibles and meet Ron and Sandy at Wendy’s for supper
at 5:30 pm. After we eat we headed over to Ron and Sandy’s for our Life Group gathering.
It was another good evening spending time with God and friends. Our lesson this
evening was on encouragement.

In yesterdays blog I wrote
about having to fir out the cabinet so the cabinet door could open all the way.
Well when I ordered the cabinets I had also ordered two matching inside corner
pieces for the peninsula and found that there was enough of that material so I
could cut some to make the pieces I needed to fur out the cabinet. With that
done I was able to start installing upper cabinets on the sink side of the
kitchen. I got them up as far has the kitchen window. I also got the new
microwave installed with Cheri’s help to hold it in place while I put the
screws in from the top. I have one more upper cabinet to install and all the
uppers will be done. It was 6:00 pm before I was done for the day. Cheri spent
most of the day in her sewing room and has started a new project. She also made
a crock pot of chicken noodle soup to have for supper so I had a wonderful
aroma of soup all afternoon. Cheri was excited to use the new microwave this
evening for supper. I also used it later this evening for popcorn.

Today was the day to
rebuild the exhaust vent for the new microwave. I wasn’t sure what I needed or
how I was going to do it but I knew I needed to go to Lowe’s to see what they
had to work with and do some dreaming about it. I dropped Cheri off at Hobby
Lobby on the way to Lowe’s. She needed some material to finishes her quilt
project. I picked up a few things at Lowe’s that I figured would work for the
vent. I picked up Cheri and we headed home. I went to work on the vent and
Cheri headed to her sewing room. By 2:30 pm the vent is done and ready to
install the upper cabinets. Cheri finished her quilt project, very nice. In
order to install the first upper cabinet I needed a piece of lumber that to fur
it out away from the end wall ¾ of and inch so there would be room to open the
cabinet door. So Cheri and I headed back to Lowe’s to see about the lumber,
stain and varnish to match the cabinets. When we got home I cut the lumber and
Cheri tried to stain it. The lumber I bought wouldn’t take a stain. So it is
back to the drawing board to see what I can come up with.

It was another busy day in
the Sharps house. The first thing this morning Cheri put on the third coat of
paint. While she was doing that I headed to Lowe’s to get some electrical cut
in boxes and a piece of plywood to use as a backer for the new microwave that
will go up over the stove. Cheri was done painting when I got home so I was
able to go right to work on the electrical and getting the backer board
installed. It took me all day has I had to run a new electrical line for the
microwave as it has to be on its own circuit. When Cheri wasn’t cleaning up after
me she was busy working in her sewing room. I think the project she is working
is coming to an end. At 4:00 pm I was at a good stopping point and ready for
another shower as I had made a lot of dust cutting the drywall and sanding. I
think most of it was on me. After my shower I fired up the grill and grilled a
couple of New York strip steaks we bought Saturday while we were at Publix’s.
Cheri fixed a baked potato and sweet corn to go along with the steak. The steak
was very good with a lot of flavor something we haven’t had in while. We
watched Dancing with the Stars this evening and Cheri was surprised on who got
voted off the show.

We didn’t go to church
today. I have been a little under the weather the last few days. I think I may
have over done it since my surgery as I have been passing some blood. So I
decided to do very little today. I did a little clean up and reorganized my
tools to get ready for tomorrow. Cheri on the other hand spent the day painting
in the kitchen on the wall where I will be putting up the new cabinets. It took
her all day to get the painting done as she put on two coats and still has to
do one more coat. I streamed Dr. Larry Ollison’s service and Cheri listened to
it while she painted. He had an excellent message on prospering. Cheri and I
watched a couple of shows we had recorded while the first coat of paint dried.
When Cheri started painting again I tuned in the NASCAR race and watched it. We
got an e-mail from Larry and Denise letting us know that they will not be here until
Friday as they had some family matters to take care of.

It was an early morning as
I didn’t have a good night’s sleep and Cheri also put in a bad night. So we got
an early start on removing the kitchen cabinets. For the most part things went
well. I did have to saw on section in half in order to get it out of the house.
I cut it by the sink so we can leave the sink in and be able to use it until it
is time to put in the new sink cabinet. I also left the dish washer in place
for now. There is a lot to do before I need to remove the sink and dishwasher.
Cheri was a big help in removing the cabinets and helping get them outside. She
also did all the clean up. We do work well together. We were done by 3:00 pm
and decided to go and see Mel and Jan as it has been a couple of weeks since we
have seen them. After an hour’s visit we headed to the new Publix’s in Dade
City that just opened a couple of days ago. All we needed was some milk and cereal
but managed to find a lot more things that we thought we needed. Cheri fixed
leftovers for supper and then an evening of TV.

Cheri and I were busy
working in the kitchen today. Cheri also got her Friday laundry done. I was
busy putting on all the drawer and door pull knobs. I also change the swing on
one of the pantry doors and did some final adjusting on doors and drawers.
Cheri was also busy sorting through things and putting them in the new pantry
along with the drawers and other cabinets. She even found time to make a casserole
and fresh baked biscuits for supper. We started removing the old cabinets from
the sink side of the kitchen late this afternoon and hope to finish tomorrow. We
tried to watch some TV this evening and couldn’t stay awake so we called it
early and went to bed, we did watch a little TV in bed.

I had a busy day with
Grandma. I picked her up at 8:30 am and took her to her heart doctor as they had
a chemical stress test to do for her. There are several steps in the testing procedure.
We finally had a break around 11:15 am. So I took her over to McDonalds for an
early lunch as she hadn’t had anything to eat since last night. Then back to
the doctor for one more test which was done by noon. I took her back to our
place for an hour as she had another doctor’s appointment at 1:15 pm for her
B-12 and flu shots. We had a long wait before we got in and I didn’t get home
until around 2:30 pm. Cheri had been busy all day cleaning out the old cabinets
and transferring things to the new ones. She also got her Thursday house work
done. So all I got done today with the cabinets was install some shelves in the
new cabinets where Cheri needed them. I also got a couple of temporary electrical
outlets installed on the wall by the new cabinets so we would have a place to
plug in the microwave, coffee pot, and toaster. This evening was our Life Group
gathering so we met Mike and Pam at Walgreens where we left our car and rode
with Mike and Pam out to Wendy’s where we met Ron to have something to eat
before the Life Group gathering at Ron and Sandy’s. It was a very good
gathering and was all about prayer.

I was up before 5:00 am,
needed to go potty and knew I wouldn’t be able to go back to sleep. Cheri heard
me get up and couldn’t go back to sleep so she was up before 6:00 am. So we got
an early start on our work today. Cheri had a 10:45 am appointment to see the
eye doctor so I was able to get the base cabinets set before we had to leave for
her appointment. It was noon when we got done with her eye appointment. She has
to get the lens changed and have to go to Wesley Chapel where she bought the
glasses. We stopped for lunch at Subway on our way. We got the new lens ordered
and headed for home and made a stop at Grandma’s to drop off the laundry that
Cheri did for her. It was around 2:30 pm when we got back to work on the
cabinets. I finished the install and made a temporary counter top. Cheri
started transferring everything from the old cabinets on the other side of the
kitchen to the new ones. It was 5:30 pm when we quit, both really tired. Cheri
still has a couple of cabinets to clean out before I started removing them. I
have to take Grandma for two doctor appointments tomorrow so Cheri will have
time to finish cleaning out the old cabinets.

I am a little sore today
but not enough to keep me from working on the cabinets. With Cheri’s help all
the upper cabinets are hung on the side of the kitchen where the refrigerator
sets. It was near 5:00 pm when I got done for the day. Cheri also worked in her
sewing room. We got a call from Darren as it just returned from work in China
for two weeks. It was the first time he has been to China and told us a few
stories of things that he did and got to see. We also got a call from Larry and
Denise and they will be here for the winter late Monday night. It will be good
to have them here as I need to have Larry help me with a few things this fall
and winter.

Cheri and I left at 7:40
am for my 9:00 am appointment at the VA to have the catheter removed for the
last time. After having a catheter for 90 days you have no idea how good it
feels to be free and able to pee on my own. We had a few errands to do on our
way home. We stopped and paid our car insurance and were near the Village Inn
and was noon so we had lunch there. Then it was to Wal-Mart to pick up Grandma’s
medicine and a few things we needed. After dropping off Grandma’s medicine and
bringing home her laundry for Cheri to do it was already 2:00 pm. Cheri had a
stress headache worrying about me and how things were going to turn out for me.
I was also tired so we both headed to the recliner for the rest of the day. We
watched Dancing with the Stars this evening and Cheri was happy with Paula Deen
getting voted off. Tonight is going to be interesting as Cheri and I haven’t
been able to sleep together since June 6th. It all started with her
eye and she needed the bed for herself and then it was me with the catheter
needing my own bed. Cheri has been in her new glasses for a little over two
weeks and still has the double vision. I wanted her to go back to the eye
doctor but she said not until I was well. So now we have to get her to the eye
doctor to see what can be done about the double vision. Thank you for all the
prayers for me and continue with prayers for Cheri to get rid of the double
vision.

We didn’t go to church
this morning. I just needed more time to rest and heal. We did stream the live
service from Dr. Larry Ollison. He had a very good message on Magnifying God. I
guess you could say I spent most of the day in front of the TV. Cheri and I
watched a few shows we had recorded until it the NASCAR race came on. Then
Cheri disappeared in her sewing room and I watched the race and then the Green
Bay Packers game with San Diego. It was a nail bitter but Green bay prevailed
and is now 5 and 0. They now have a bye week to get well.

It was a down day for me
as I was feeling a little under the weather from the surgery yesterday. I think
it is because of some of the medicine I am taking. I did feel some better this
afternoon. Cheri did her Friday house work today as she didn’t have time to do
it yesterday. She also spent some time in the sewing room a couple of different
times. She said that she had a dull headache all day. Most of my day was spent
in the recliner resting and napping. I did watch the Wisconsin Badger football
this afternoon. We had soup and egg salad sandwiches for lunch and chicken
wings for supper along with dessert all that was brought over to us by Mike and
Pam thanks for all the good food.

Cheri and I were up
earlier this morning as we had to leave at 6:30 am for the VA as today was my
prostate surgery. Our next door neighbor Mike went with us so he could drive us
home as Cheri still can’t drive because of her double vision. We had to be at
the hospital by 7:30 am and the surgery was at 9:30 am and they rolled me into
the OR room right at 9:30 am. The surgery took much longer than they had told
us it would. It was because I have such a large prostate. Long story short
everything went well and was home by 3:00 pm. I had a bowl of the good
vegetable soup that Pam made for us. Then I headed to the recliner to rest and
take a nap has I had a head ache. Cheri was very tired I think she was more
stressed than I was. Around 6:00 pm my head ache was worse and my stomach was
upset not sure if was just from the headache or I was hungry. So I took some aspirin
for my head and Cheri fixed me a small bowl of Pam’s soup. After a while I
started feeling better. So we settled in for an evening of TV.

It was another busy day
for Cheri and me. Cheri started painting around 9:00 am and I left to take
Grandma for her heart doctor appointment. Things went well with the appointment
but she has to have a chemical stress test next week because she has a leaky
heart valve and want to make sure that it hasn’t got any worse. It was almost
noon when I got home and Cheri had just finished with the painting. So this
afternoon I worked on installing the pantry cabinets. I had to make trip to
Lowe’s to get some shims to help level the cabinets. I did get the pantry
cabinets in place and next will be the cabinet that goes over the refrigerator.
By the time I got things cleaned up it was 4:30 pm. It took longer than I
thought it would to put in the pantry cabinets. Cheri continued to work in her
sewing room this afternoon.

We had a good day. I started
early this morning on the kitchen wall getting the plastering done by noon. I
brought in a fan to see if I could speed up the drying process. Cheri worked on
her quilt project until noon. After lunch we made a trip to Best Buy to check
on microwaves that will hang over the stove. This will be something new for us,
never had one that was over the stove unless you count the one we had in our
fifth wheel camper. We spent about three hours looking at microwaves and check
out what is different with each of them and picking one that will work with a
new stove and refrigerator which we hope to get in a year or so, have to save
money for them. We ended up buying a Samsung micro wave. On the way back we
stopped at Wal-Mart in Wesley Chapel to get a few groceries and the ink for our
printer. We also run the car through the car wash, try to do that every other Wednesday
for their three dollar wash special. It was after 4:30 pm when we got home.
Cheri started supper and I checked the plaster and it was dry so after supper I
got the wall sanded down and is now ready for Cheri to paint.

It was cold this morning
by Florida standards, it was 61 degrees. When you are use to mid 80’s and 90’s and
with morning temps in the mid 70’s you can see 61 is on the cool side for this
early in the fall. I worked on the kitchen wall today and got done what I
thought I was going to get done yesterday. The plywood is up along with the
drywall and one coat of plaster is done. I am hoping to get the rest of the
plastering done today so it will be ready for Cheri to paint. I am starting to
get excited about putting some new cabinets up to see how they are going to
look. Cheri got her Tuesday house work done and then went to her sewing room.
By the time I got everything cleaned up it was almost 4:00 pm and I was ready
to be done for the day. Cheri fixed us baked ham with a baked potato and fresh spinach
for supper.

It was one of those days
when things didn’t go the way we planned. We left the house early and headed to
Tampa to get my medicine with a stop for breakfast at Perkin’s which wasn’t
very good. While we were there I call the pharmacy to have my medicine released
and got a recording that the pharmacy was closed as it is a federal holiday (Columbus
Day). So I figured if I was going to get the medicine I would have to go
through the ER. On the way by the pharmacy I could see cars in the parking lot
and decided to stop and see. Sure enough there were some people there for
medicine pickup. That made me feel good but not to last as I was told that the
doctor had prescribed the wrong medication or the instructions were wrong. The
medication that was prescribed was for one pill a day and the doctor had two
pills a day. Long story short I still had to go the ER to get it straightened
out. We had to wait for over an hour at the ER and them it was back to the
pharmacy to wait another half an hour for the medicine. We didn’t get home
until 12:30 pm. We were only home for a few minutes as Cheri needed a quart of
trim paint and had to have the color code from the old paint can. So as we were
walking into Lowe’s we see Mel sitting in the car waiting for Jan to come out
with a dehumidifier for their sun room. Jan said that it was really heavy and
didn’t know how she was going to get it in the house. So after we got the paint
we headed to Mel and Jan’s so I could unload and unpack the dehumidifier for
them. It was getting close to 2:00 pm when we arrived home so I could start
working on the kitchen wall. So I didn’t get as much done today as I figured on
but did get all the plywood hung and tomorrow I will hang the drywall and get
some plastering done.

Grandma went to church
with us today. Pastor Randy e-mailed me his message notes for Grandma but our
printer ran out of ink and I didn’t have an extra print cartridge so Grandma
didn’t have the message notes today. It makes church hard for her without the
notes. Pastor Randy had an excellent message today. Why do good things happen
to bad people? Romans 8:28-39. Our Sunday school lesson was titled A Fresh
Start from Genesis 8:15-22; 9:1, 11-16. Charlie was back teaching today and did
an excellent job as always. After Sunday school we along with Mel and Jan went
to the Village Inn in Zephyrhills for lunch. We were able to once again get a
round table in the corner so we were able to visit. It was 2:00 pm when we got
home. Cheri worked the rest of the afternoon painting in the kitchen and has
two coats of paint on the wall where I will be hanging cabinets. It looks like
she is going to have to put on another coat of paint to get it covered. It was
near 6:00 pm before she got done. I on the other hand did nothing and watched
the NASCAR race that was canceled last night because of rain.

We were going to go out
for breakfast on our way to Tampa to pick up the antibiotics. I called the pharmacy
to have the medicine released and found out that they are not open on the
weekend. So we stayed home and Cheri fixed waffles for breakfast. After
breakfast Cheri headed to her sewing room to work on her latest project. I
worked on the rest of the electrical and found that I had to go to Lowe’s to
get some number twelve wire for the outlets. By noon I had the electrical done
and then started on furring out the end wall by the office area. After that was
done I started cutting the plywood and got that up which will be good for
hanging cabinets and won’t have to look for studs to fasten the cabinets. By 4:00
pm I had the plywood hung and was ready to call it a day as far as work goes.
Cheri quit a short time after I did. We headed for the recliner to relax. I watched
the Wisconsin Badger game that I was recording and Cheri was doing whatever it
is she does on her I-pad. I was going to watch the NASCAR race but it was
rained out and will be on tomorrow at noon, which is ok as I can’t get the
Green Bay Packer game.

We had some errands to run
today and I told Cheri I wanted to do them early today as I know if I worked in
the kitchen first I wouldn’t want to do them this afternoon. Our first stop was
the Postal Zone to ship the cabinet that I had order wrong. Then we went to Lowe’s
to check out microwaves as they had some on sale this week. We will be moving
the microwave from the counter to one over the stove with an exhaust vent. They
didn’t have much of a selection in the LG brand which is what we are planning
on getting. Then we made a stop to get our haircuts. So it was noon when we got
home. After lunch I went to work on the electrical, moved the kitchen and dining
room light switches plus added a switch for the under cabinet lighting. It was
after 4:00 pm when I got done and still have some outlets to rough in. Late
this evening I got a call from the VA and they are telling me that I have a bladder
infection and need to pick up some antibiotics tomorrow for it. I really don’t
think I have an infection as the nurse that took the specimen drop the catheter
plug in the specimen and removed it with the rubber gloves she was wearing
which I am sure contaminated the specimen. But I rather be on the safe side and
take the antibiotics so I can have the surgery next Friday.

Mike picked me up at 8:00
am and we went to the Village Inn for breakfast. Mike was going to haul some materials from
Lowe’s as I have no way of hauling anything anymore. It is great to have closes
friends that will help out when you are in need. I needed to get plywood and
sheetrock for the kitchen. By the time we got everything and back to the house
it was 11:00 am. I gave Mike a tour of
the kitchen and what I am working on right now. After he left I worked on the
electrical opening up the old wall and pulling out wiring to install in the new
wall. I only had an hour to work on it as I had to take Grandma for her 1:00 pm
doctor’s appointment. Grandma gave me her laundry for Cheri to do. When I got
home Cheri had her house work done and was in her sewing room working on a new
project. Cheri started Grandma’s laundry and then we headed out as Grandma
needed medicine and groceries from Wal-Mart. I dropped Cheri off there and I went
to Lowe’s to pick up the electrical materials I needed and then back to
Wal-Mart to help Cheri with the groceries. It was a little passed 4:00 pm when
we got Grandma taken care of. We were home just long enough to catch our breath
and had to meet Mike and Pam at Walgreens at 4:50 pm and then the four of us
went to the Chowder House to meet Ron and Sandy for dinner. After dinner we all
went to Ron and Sandy’s has it was Life Group night. All in all it was another
good Life Group gathering with a lot of discussion. We got home at 9:30 pm. We
were both exhausted and decided to call it a night.

I was up at 4:45 am and
Cheri was up at 5:30 am. We had to leave at 6:45 am for my 8:00 am appointment
in Tamp. We always leave early because we never know what the traffic is going
to be like. It is only a 30 mile trip but today it took us almost an hour from
the time we left to the time we got checked in for my appointment. I actually
got in early for my first appointment and had to wait almost an hour for the
next appointment. After that I had labs and an EKG. Long story short we got
done and were ready to leave at 11:30 am. We made a stop at Wal-Mart in New
Tampa to see about the paint for the kitchen, no luck there. Our next stop was
at Burger Monger for lunch. Then one more stop at Wal-Mart in Wesley Chapel to
see about the paint. Well they still didn’t have the tint in a gallon so Cheri
asked him if we could have four quarts for the price of a gallon and he said he
would do that. After he got the four quarts mixed he went to his manager to
have her correct the price for us. When they came back she looked at a pallet
of paint and there was the gallon tint base. So he mixed up the gallon for us. It was around 2:00 pm when we got home. I wasn’t
feeling the best from the catheter change so we decided to rest for the afternoon.
I tried to watch some TV but soon was asleep which lasted for a couple of
hours. I think Cheri also took a nap. So it wasn’t a very exciting day for us.

It was another busy day in
the Sharps house. Cheri was busy doing her Tuesday house work and then she
baked some cookie and made Lasagna to take over to Mike and Kathy’s as Kathy is
having surgery on her hand and will be out of commission for a few weeks. Cheri
also helped me at different times when I needed her. I got most of the wall
framing done today. I won’t be doing much the next couple of day as I have a
doctor’s appointment tomorrow and Grandma has one on Thursday. Cheri made
double Lasagna so we could have some for supper and some cookies from a new
recipe. I had one when they came out of the oven and are very good. All this week the temps have been in the mid 60's in the morning and then warming to the low 80's, every nice fall weather.

It was a busy day for
Cheri and me as we worked on removing the old kitchen cabinets from one side of
the kitchen. We took our time getting them out so we could donate them for
resale. We were done removing the cabinet by a little pass noon. Then it was
time for the cleanup. There had been a second floor with underlayment added
since the house was built and I will have to remove all of it before putting in
the new flooring, but for now I removed enough to install the new cabinets. I
made a big mess cutting the underlayment which Cheri did most of the clean up
while I put my tool away. Then we made two trips to Lowe’s to buy two by fours
to built the new wall, had to make two trips because we could only haul ten at
a time. So by the time we got everything done today it was 4:00 pm. I was very
happy with how everything went and got more done than I thought we would.

We picked up Grandma at
8:45 am and head to church. Pastor Randy had an excellent message From Romans
8:26-28 on How to have a Better Prayer Life. Sunday school was also very good
as Jack was still filling in for Charlie and did and excellent job with our
lesson. After Sunday school we along with Mel and Jan headed to the Village Inn
for lunch again this Sunday as it was very good last Sunday. We were able to
get a table in the corner so we could visit while having lunch. After lunch we
dropped Grandma off at home and we headed to Wal-Mart here in Zephyrhills to
see about paint for the kitchen and found that their paint computer was still
down so we headed Dade City Wal-Mart and the paint computer could not mix the
paint color Cheri had because it was an older paint computer. So there you have
it three Wal-Marts that sell the paint we want and can’t get it, good thing we
don’t need it right away. We also stopped at Big Lots as they had a 20 percent
off on everything in the store today. The only thing we found that we needed
was some bird seed for our bird feeders. After all was said and done it was
almost 4:00 pm when we got home. Cheri settled in with her I-pad to do whatever
it is she does. And I settled in to watch the NASCAR race and then the Packer
football game all of which I had recorded. So it was petty late when I got done
watching my sports and we did watch a couple other shows we had recorded before
calling it a night.

Cheri spent the whole day
cleaning out kitchen cabinets. She had a big job packing up everything from one
side of the kitchen which is where I am going to start the remodel. I set up
some shelving in her sewing room to put the things we will need right away. She
also packed up a lot of tubs with things that she can get along without for a
while. I worked on the power washer again this morning with no luck so I
ordered a new carburetor for it and hope that will take care of the problem. After
Cheri got done cleaning out the kitchen cabinets we took a rest and I watched
the Wisconsin Badger football game which they lost and should have won. They made
too many critical mistakes. After supper I started to remove cabinets. I got a
couple of them out and ready to take outside tomorrow. So all in all it was a
good day for us.

Cheri was busy with laundry
and her Friday house work. I headed outside to work on the power washer. It isn’t
running the way it is suppose to. So I took the carburetor apart and gave it a
good cleaning. When I went to reinstall the carburetor I could see that it didn’t
fit tight to the intake on the engine. I think it has been leaking air around
the intake and is the reason it hasn’t been running right. So I need to get
some gasket material to correct the problem. Around 1:00 pm Cheri got a call
that her glasses were in so we headed to Wesley chapel to pick them up. Cheri
was really disappointed as she still has double vision with them on. We are
praying that after she wears them for a few days the double vision will disappear.
We also made a stop at Wal-Mart to pick up a gallon of the paint for the
kitchen. She only bought a quart before to see if it was the color she wanted. She
had put some on the wall and like it so now she needs a gallon of it. Well
wouldn’t you know they were out of the tint base she needed. We made one last
stop at Auto Zone so I could get the gasket material for the power washer. On
the way over to Wesley Chapel we stopped to check on Larry and Denise’s house
and everything looked good. Cheri was very quiet this evening; I can tell she
is very depressed about her eyes. So I am asking all of you to pray for her
eyes to be corrected by the new glasses.

It is hard to believe September is gone
already, although when I think back some things went very slow and other things
very fast. I can tell fall is here as the days are getting shorter, still dark
at 7:00 am when just a short time ago it the sun was shining at 7:00 am. I
worked on cabinet assembly this morning and Cheri did all of her Thursday house
work and laundry. I finished the cabinets just before noon. We got a call from
the granite place and said that the other granite slabs came in so this
afternoon we made a trip to Lakeland to look at them. We really liked the ones
that just came in and they are the ones we picked. In fact we like them better
than the ones we had picked out a couple of months ago. We also made a stop at
Home Depot in Lakeland and found the repair mixture for our popcorn ceiling. We
made one last stop at Wawa for a chocolate milk shake. Tonight was our Life
Group Gathering. Our group was smaller but still had enough for a good
discussion. We really enjoy Life Group talking and learning more about God.

Neither Cheri nor I had a
good night’s sleep; we both did a lot of crazy dreaming that makes no sense. So
we are both kind of bummed out today. Cheri did her Wednesday house work and
then worked on making her Halloween wreath. I took Grandma for her doctor’s
appointment this morning and got home around 11:30 am. I went right to work on
assembling kitchen cabinets. I got four more of them done and still have four
more to do and then the assembly will be done. Cheri and I left at 4:00 pm and
headed to Wesley Chapel. On the way home yesterday from getting the service
done on the car the check tire pressure light came on and figured it was from
them rotating the tires. So went back to have it corrected. They said that when
they do the tire pressure reset it doesn’t always take and that was what
happened to us. To be sure they checked the tire pressure and did the reset
again. Then we went to Wal-Mart to get a quart of paint for the kitchen. Cheri
thinks she knows what color she wants but to be sure we got just a quart so she
can try it and see if that is what she wants. While she was getting that done I
was looking at lights that were right by the paint department and found some
strip lights that I think will work for the under cabinet lighting in the
kitchen so I bought some to check them out. We made a stop at Sam’s Club to
fill the car with gas and were surprised that the price was no better than some
of the stations. Then we met Ron, Sandy, Mike, and Pam at 100 Montaditos for
supper. It is a sandwich place that advertises 100 different small sized sandwiches
and today they are on special for a dollar each. The food was good but the
acoustics were so bad I couldn’t hear what was being said. Mike and Pam had
bought a new twin size folding bed so we followed them home and I helped Mike
get it unloaded and into the house. We visited for a while and Pam treated us
to a piece of butter mike pie which was excellent. So it was a good day of
getting a few things done.
