No work in the Sharps house today. Cheri and I took a day off. We left the house around 9:30 am and I dropped Cheri off at Beall’s as there were some shoes she wanted to check on. So while she was in there I went next door to Tractor Supply to look around. Then we headed to Plant City and made a stop at the quilt shop for Cheri. I waited in the car while she shopped. Then it was time to meet Ron and Mary Jo at Parkesdale for strawberry short cake at noon. It not very often you can have strawberry short cake for lunch with nothing else. Then we headed to Lazy Days for the Alaskan Rally. It was a great time catching up with friends that we made while on the Alaskan tours we took. It is hard to believe it has been eight years since our first trip. Every year there are less people from the tours we took. There were only one couple from our 2008 tour and two couples from our 2012 tour. We also got a chance to visit with Spike the owner and his mechanic Roger. After a good catered in Italian dinner and some information from Spike it was time for the music to start. We did do one dance and then decided to head home as the music was so loud we couldn’t visit. It was good to have a day off.

Yea no rain today. It was sun shine all day although it didn’t get that warm and still needed a light jacket. Cheri continued working on her quilt project and I on the office back splash. I did finish what I said I was going to do yesterday and then decided to add some to the sides of the wall over the desk top. Long story short I didn’t get it all done. This afternoon we went to see Mel and Jan. Mel looked much better and was more talkative. We were so happy to see him improving with his strength in his legs. He was able to stand and walk by himself which was a big improvement from the last time we saw him. This evening Mike and Pam picked us up and we went out for fish dinner at Am Vet. Pam had heard about it and thought that we should try it. It was good and plan on going again sometime. Mike and Pam also checked on our kitchen work and Cheri’s quilt project.

It was dark when I checked the rain gauge yesterday morning and didn’t get it put back up. So I don’t know how much rain we got today as it rained most of the day. I would guess we got at least another inch or more. Cheri was busy doing house work when I left to take Grandma for her doctor’s appointment. When I got home she was already in the sewing room. I went to work on the back splash and worked until 3:30 pm. I still have several small pieces to put in which will take me a couple of hours. Cheri also said that she had done enough for the day. We headed over to Wal-Mart to pick up Grandma’s medicine and groceries. It was raining pretty hard when we came out of Wal-Mart and got pretty wet getting the groceries in the car. On the way to Grandma’s we stopped at Jersey Mike’s and had a sub for our supper. It was 5:30 pm when we finally got settled in at home.

It started raining around 11:00 pm and rained all night I checked the rain gauge this morning and we had received just under two inches and then it rained on and off all day and into the night. We decided to go out for breakfast at a new restaurant called Stella J’s Country Food & Hatfields Country Music. Well it turned out to be the worst breakfast we have had. We will not be going back again. When we got home Cheri headed for the sewing room and I worked on the back splash in the office area. I was very disappointed with myself as I cut two tiles on the wrong end. I was able to use one of them in another area. By 3:30 pm I was a little over half done. The rain was coming down harder and I was at a good stopping point. Cheri also decided she had done enough for the day, said her eyes were tired. I checked the rain gauge again and we had received a total of just over two inches. I guess it didn’t rain as much as I thought it did during the day.

It was much warmer this morning as the temp was in the low 50’s. Larry came over to pick up the power washer equipment at 10:00 am and then we headed to Grandma’s to power wash her trailer. I had worked on the power washer a few weeks ago and got it running so I thought. When we got the power washer started and as soon as we turned on the water to build pressure it would stop running. In other words I still didn’t have it fixed. We did a little cleaning by hand on the shed and then loaded everything up to take home. On the way we returned some of the materials that we didn’t need when we did the trailer skirting. We stopped at Pizza Hut for lunch and then home. After Larry left I took the power washer apart again and found the carburetor spacing block was broken which would cause the engine not to run right. So I did some internet searching and found the parts I needed on E-Bay. I spent the rest of the afternoon working on the electrical in the kitchen and finished it around 4:00 pm. Cheri worked all day in the sewing room. She was back to work on a project that she had started a month or so ago and is working on the quilting part of it.

31 degrees this morning but warmed up to a nice sunny day with a light breeze. Cheri spent the morning in her sewing room but said she didn’t get anything accomplished. I was on the phone for almost an hour still trying to get warranty work approved to have our sound bar repaired. I was told that the information I e-mailed over a week ago still hasn’t been uploaded to my account. I am not a happy camper. I got my office area cleaned out and is now ready to install the back splash. I also got all the electrical recepicails paint. This afternoon we went to see the movie The Revenant. We have heard so much about how good it is and were very disappointed. When the movie started there was no way to know who was fighting who and the whole movie could have been done in 30 minutes. My rating of the movie would be a two. When we got home I worked on the fittings for the power washer and was happy with what I had and decided to get some additional fittings so it would be easier to use the power washer. So I headed over to Home Depot for the additional fitting I needed. I also stopped by Larry and Denis’s to see if Larry was free tomorrow to help me wash Grandma’s trailer. He said that he was free and would help. Cheri fixed spaghetti and meat balls along with garlic toast for supper.

Happy birthday to our son Darren who turned 37 today. 37 years ago we had one of the worst snow storm I went through while taking Cheri to the hospital. The next morning nothing was moving and I wasn’t able to leave the hospital until after 3:00 pm and had to drive extra miles to get home as several roads where still blocked. Cheri didn’t sound very good this morning with the cold she has and it being very cold (33 degrees) out we decide to skip church and streamed Dr. Larry Ollison’s service. He had a guest speaker which we didn’t think was as good as Larry. It is hard to be better than one of the best. We enjoy watching Dr. Ollison as he is so easy to understand. Cheri has a seven foot painted cross cut saw that was hanging in her sewing room over the door. She wanted to hang it above the kitchen cabinets so it would be more visible. So guess what we did this morning? It does look nice and Cheri is very happy. This afternoon we picked up Mike and Pam and headed to Dade City where we met Ron and Sandy for an early dinner and then over to our church to watch the movie Woodlawn. It is a very good Christian movie based on a true story. It is a movie everyone should see. After the movie we all went back to Mike and Pam’s place for dessert which Pam made for us. It was a great evening with friends.

First thing this morning we call Cece our granddaughter and wished her a happy 14th birthday. Nikki was having a birthday party for her and her friends so we didn’t talk very long. It was another cold day, wet, and very windy day with a high of 50 degrees. We decided there was nothing we needed to do outside today. Cheri finished the painting this morning and then worked in her sewing room. I did some computer work, hung plates on the freshly painted wall, cleaned up the back splash grout, and reset the time censer on the fresh water filter. Cheri fixed some hot soup for lunch which is always good on a cold day. This morning I set the recorder up to record a few movies so we would have something to watch this afternoon and evening. Yep that is right we spent the afternoon and evening in front of the TV. It wasn’t a very productive day.

It started to rain when I got up this morning. It was supposed to rain most of the day with some bad storms to come through but only got a little rain and the bad storms must have gone around us. It was pretty windy and the temp made it to the low 70’s. Cheri went right to work on her painting project and I worked on my power washer hose and gun attachments. I have three different size fittings which makes it hard to get things set up the way I want them so I was going to go over to Grandma’s to get the gun and hose so I could go and get the proper fittings. On the way I stopped by Grandma’s knee doctor to see if they still had her on the list for a work in to get a shot in her knee. They said that they were still trying to get something set up for her. My next stop was at the VA clinic to see why I am scheduled for a c-scan. I was told to fill out a sheet and the doctor or nurse would call me. I just left there when I got a call from Grandma’s knee doctor wanting to know if I could bring her in. So I headed over to Grandma’s to pick her up. It was 12:30 pm when I finally got home. Cheri had finished the painting for the day and said that she still had to paint the window trim another coat. After lunch we headed to Lakeland as Cheri wanted to get some material from JoAnn’s for the project she is working on. So I dropped her off there and I went on to Home Depot to get the power washer fittings I needed. On the way home we stopped at Wawa for a chocolate milk shake. When we got back to Zephyrhills we headed to Wal-Mart to get Grandma’s groceries and also a few for us. It was a little past 5:00 pm when we finally got home. I also got a call from the VA letting me know the c-scan is a follow up of the one I had in June.

No work for me today as I had a motorcycle ride planned for the day. It was 54 degrees when I left the house at 9:45 am. There were six of us on the ride. We rode south with a couple of stops along the way to visit and stopped at McDonald’s for lunch and then over to the Bradenton Harley shop. It was a good ride and got home around 4:15 pm and had rode 189 miles. The high temp for the day was 70 degrees and overcast which made for a great riding day. Cheri had me invite Larry for supper and I was surprised when we walked in the house. Cheri had spent the day painting the dining room. She was able to get two coats on today and hopes to finish tomorrow. After supper we visited with Larry for a while and after he left we settled in for an evening of TV which didn’t last long for me as I was tired from the ride and all the fresh air.

We had our coldest morning at 34 degrees this season. It did warm up to be a very nice day with no wind just a lite breeze. Cheri got up with a cold this morning so she will be nursing that for a few days. She still was able to spend the day in her sewing room. I e-mailed Larry early this morning to see if he was available to help me get the materials I needed to put new skirting on one side of Grandma’s trailer. I got a call from him telling me he would be over to help me. First we went to Grandma’s to reassess what we needed to do the project. Then we went to Hine’s supply where I had checked on the materials. Then it was back to our place to get the tools we needed to do the job. Cheri fixed us lunch before we tackled the skirting job. Things went well and was done around 4:00 pm. Thanks for the help Larry as it would have taken me two or three days to do it by myself, nice to have good friends to help. When I got home I took a hot shower and headed for the recliner and was asleep within a few minutes. Cheri waited for me to wake up an hour later before fixing supper.

It was only 41 degrees this morning and only got up to 54 degrees for the days high. Cheri did her Tuesday house work and then into the sewing room to work on her quilt project. I work on getting the grouting done in the kitchen. I still have some touch up to do but need to wait until the main grout is dry. Then it will be time to do the electrical. It was 1:00 pm when I finished. We met Ron & Sandy and Mike & Pam at the theater for the 2:00 pm showing of the movie Daddy’s Home. It was a fair movie with many funny parts but still just an average movie. After the movie we all went to Terra Healthy Fresh Food restaurant which is almost in waking distance from the movie theater but couldn’t though the fence and had to drive a mile to get there. Cheri and I had the same thing that we had yesterday because it was so good. We had a good visit and then we all headed in a different direction. We were home by a little pass 5:00 pm. We were done for the day and settled in for another evening of TV.

Cheri headed to the sewing room after breakfast and I washed down the back splash and it is now ready for the grout. That was all the work that was done today. We went up to Mel and Jan’s to help Jan get Mel out of the house and into the car so she could take him for his doctor appointment. We followed them to the doctor and helped get him out of the car and into the doctor’s office. After the appointment the four of us went out for lunch at Terra Healthy Fresh Food restaurant. It is a new restaurant that opened a short time ago and is the first time we have been there. It was very good but a little on the pricey side. We followed Mel and Jan home and helped get Mel into the house and in his recliner. He was very tired and weak by the time we got him in the recliner. It was a little after 2:00 pm when we got back home. I told Cheri I was going to the VA clinic to check on an appointment I have coming up. I forgot it was a federal holiday and was closed. So I went and got a haircut which I should have gotten a week ago. When I got home Cheri was busy in the sewing room. I did a little computer work and called it a day.

We were woken up by a storm around 2:30 am with a lot of wind and hard rain. It was still raining when we got up this morning. It had stopped by the time we left for church and checked the rain gauge and had received a little over two inches. On the way to church it still looked like rain but when we came out there was blue sky with white fluffy clouds. Grandma didn’t go to church as it was damp and too cold for her plus her knee is really hurting and hard for her to get around. After Sunday school we stopped by Mel and Jan’s to see how Mel was and was really surprised to see him sitting up and talking. Jan is going to see about getting home care to help take care of him. It was after 2:00 pm when we got home. We decided to just relax the rest of the day. We started watching three different movies before we found a good one to watch. Cheri has been on the eye drops for a week now and says the eye feels better but still has the double vision. She has three week before seeing the doctor again.

Cheri spent most of the morning doing house work and some she didn’t get done the other day. My plan for the day was to check out the TV sound bar that has a buzzing sound from one channel. Before I took it apart I thought I better check and see if we had an extended warranty for it. I found the paper work and sure enough we did so I called and told them about my problem with the sound bar. I was told that the sound bar I was telling them about wasn’t what they had on file for us. Long story short I had to e-mail them with a copy of our receipt so they can get it straighten out before they will do anything about repairing it. Around 1:00 pm we got a call from Jan telling us she was on her way to the emergency room with Mel. So we headed to the hospital to be with them. Mel wasn’t able to walk and not very responsive. They checked him out and found that he was dehydrated and with the strong medication he is taking he isn’t all that responsive. When we left he was resting and was told that he was going to be admitted and then to see about getting him in a rehabilitation center tomorrow. So we got home around 4:30 pm. And around 7:00 pm we got a text from Jan telling us he was released and was home. She had to get the neighbors to help get him into the house. Please pray that Jan can get him into a rehabilitation center.

We got up to rain this morning. It was supposed to rain most of the day but was done before noon and received a little over an inch. It turned out to be a pretty nice day except for the stiff breeze. I finished the back splash this morning and with a little cleanup it will be ready for grout Monday. I installed some new floor protectors on our kitchen chairs and made the final order of cabinet trim materials I need to finish the installation. Cheri worked on Jan’s recliner covers and was done around 3:00 pm so we took a ride to see Mel and Jan to deliver them. Mel was happing a bad day. With all the strong drugs he is taking he isn’t able to function very well. When we got home it was time for supper and Cheri fixed some of the barbeque ribs we got at Sam’s Club. It was a good day that God made for us.

The weather today was a repeat of yesterday. Cheri finished the rug painting and looks very nice. I finished with the big pieces of back splash tile but still have a lot of small pieces to fill in around the edges and electrical outlets. I had planned on getting it all done today but took late morning and afternoon off. Cheri needed to go to Dade City quilt shop to pick up a pattern she had ordered and I needed to stop at Lowe’s to get salt for the water softener and then home to drop off the salt. Then we headed over to pick up Larry and Denise to go shopping in Wesley Chapel. Denise found a new quilt shop on the internet that is in Wesley Chapel one that she and Cheri didn’t know about. We also had to make a stop at Jo-Ann fabrics as Cheri needed some green thread for the project she is doing for Mel and Jan. I couldn’t believe she came back to the car without the thread as they didn’t have the color of green she needed. Then we headed to an Asian restaurant for a late lunch and early dinner. After we eat we stopped at Sam’s Club so I could get some of their good barbeque pork ribs. Then it was back to Larry and Denise’s to play a couple of games of Hand, Knee, and Foot. Larry and I won both games, first time for us this season. I was told by Cheri and Denise to mention that they were close games.

It was a couple degrees warmer this morning but didn’t seem like it when I went outside. It was overcast today and didn’t see the sun until later in the afternoon.  I took Cheri for her 10:00 am appointment to have her hair cut and was back home by 10:30 am. Cheri worked in her sewing room painting on the throw rug that goes by our back door. She is trying to make it go with the rest of the colors she is using in the kitchen. I continued working on the kitchen back splash. I didn’t get as much done as I wanted today as this afternoon we went to see Mel and Jan. Cheri is making some slipcovers for their new recliners and needed to pick up the material that Jan bought. When we got there they were trying to get the TV to work. It was going on and off so I did some checking and got it working. I think it was a loose connection that was causing the problem. I also put up a drapery rod that had come down. So with all of that and some visiting it was too late to do anymore work when we got home. We had leftover pot roast for supper and then settled in for another evening of TV. I did check the motion LED light and it is working the way was suppose too, comes on when it gets dark at a low level and then the motion sensor makes it brighter.

Well it did get colder as it was 41 degree this morning but warmed up to a high of 64. We have friends in Wisconsin that reads our blog and informed me that it was warm here yesterday morning at 44 degrees as when she went out it was 10 degrees below zero. And that is why we no longer live in Wisconsin. I headed to the grocery store to get some potatoes and milk. I also got our lottery ticket for the next Power Ball drawing. I made one more stop to get a price on the materials I need to redo some of the skirting on Grandma’s trailer. Cheri continued working on recovering the seat pads and finished earlier this afternoon. I continued working on the back splash. I did get more done today than I did yesterday. One good day and I should have the sink side ready for grout. I quit at 4:00 pm as I had enough for the day but then I put up the new solar LED light near the front door so we could have light when we come home after dark. I did a temporary install to see if it is in the right place. I checked it after dark and seems to be in a good l4ocation but need to check the directions as it was already on and only got brighter from the motion detection. Cheri had fixed a pot roast in the crockpot with potatoes, carrots, and onions for supper with a lot of gravy. Nothing on TV this evening so we started looking for some movies we could record. We started watching two of them and quit as they were really bad and found one that was pretty good.

Our cold weather as returned. It was 44 degrees this morning finally got to 60 degrees by 4:00 pm plus we had a breeze this afternoon that didn’t help and it is supposed to be colder tonight. I was a little slow moving this morning because I had to go outside to cut back splash tiles. It was 9:30 am before I finally got started. I wasn’t looking forward to working on the back splash today as I have a lot of cutting under the window and around a couple of electrical outlets. So I didn’t have much to show for my days’ work. Cheri worked all day in her sewing room. She is recovering the kitchen chair seat pads. She has two done and another almost done. At 4:00 pm we both decided we had done enough for the day. We had leftover spaghetti and meatballs for supper. We settled in for the evening watching some shows we had recorded. Last night while watching TV our sound bar started making a bussing sound which is coming from one of the speakers. It is bad enough that we had to turn it off and use the speakers in the TV. We paid good money for it and has lasted only a little over two years, something else for me to check out.

Grandma didn’t go to church with us today as there was a guest speaker and there wouldn’t be any message notes for her. The speaker was David Burton. Cheri and I thought his revival preaching is the best we have ever heard. We were at the first service and stayed for the second service because he had a different message. After church we stopped to see Mel and Jan to see how Mel was doing. They were planning on going to church today but Mel was in a lot of pain and wasn’t able to go. Our visit was short as we had to pick up Larry and Denise at 1:45 pm to go to Lakeland. There was a two hour sale going on at one of the fabric shops and they needed to check it out. Larry and I sat in the car and waited. It wasn’t long and they came out and said that it was so busy that it was hard to look at anything and there was a long line at the cutting table. Our next stop was at Home Décor and More to pick up some more grout additive which I needed to do more grouting in the kitchen. Then we dropped Cheri and Denise off at Jo-Ann Fabrics and Larry and I went to Harbor Freight. Larry got an air hose reel and I got a solar LED light with a motion detector to put up outside the front door. On the way back to Larry and Denise’s we stopped at Pizza Hut for supper and then to Larry and Denis’s to play a game of Hand, Knee, and Foot. Once again Cheri and Denise won, it was a really lop sided game. 2016 isn’t looking very good for Larry and I when it comes to playing cards.

Cheri had a list of things she wanted me to do today. She has the kitchen all painted and was ready to have the cornice put back up along with the blinds which I had to cut down so they would be a better fit. I also hung pictures. I didn’t feel like working on the back splash today, just wasn’t in the right frame of mind for that kind of work. I once again got the power washer out and worked on it. I had ordered a new carburetor gasket set and while putting them in I found a cracked carburetor flange. So with some gasket sealer and new gaskets I got it together and running again, good to have that done as I need to get the house washed. After lunch we decided to go to Home Depot to return some electrical parts that I didn’t need. We stopped by Larry and Denise’s to see if they wanted to go along but they weren’t home. We got home around 2:30 pm and I relaxed with my new Handy Man, and Wood magazines dreaming about some different types of projects that would be fun to make. Cheri also read and spent time on her I-Pad. The last couple of days we have gotten a little rain and some again this evening. Never more than a forth of an inch.

Cornice Cheri recovered

It was a busy day here at the Sharps. Cheri worked on recovering the window cornice that hangs in the kitchen dinette area. It took her until midafternoon before she got it done. I worked on the kitchen back splash and got seven more tiles installed, slow going working around electrical outlets and around the kitchen window. Larry and Denise stopped by to see if we wanted to go to Lakeland but we had errands that we had to do later this afternoon. It was near 4:00 pm before we were done with everything and had a chance to relax for an hour before meeting Mike and Pam at Panera Breads for supper and then to their place to play Phase Ten and Mexican Train. All in all it was a good day and once again we got to spend time with good friends. Tomorrow I will post a picture of the cornice that Cheri recovered.

I had another good night’s sleep, which makes two in a row. I actually felt like getting back to work in the kitchen. Cheri said that her night wasn’t that good. She went right to work painting the trim in the kitchen this morning. While it was drying she worked on income taxes and then put on another coat of paint. It was a long day for her and is very tired this evening. I spent the day working in the kitchen. I worked on some molding and put the light rail up on the side where the back splash is done. I spray painted the back door window lattice insert and got that installed. I also got six more back splash tiles cut and ready to install. Well almost ready I still have to measure and cut the electrical outlet openings. We had leftovers for supper and then settled in for an evening of TV. We had a much better day as far as weather goes, wasn’t as cold last night and warmed up to be a nice day although we didn’t have any sun until this afternoon.

I had a really good pain free night’s sleep, not sure why but maybe it is because I haven’t done any work the last few days. It was warmer this morning at 54 degrees and turned to be a very nice day with the Temp in the low 70’s but still had a stiff breeze. We were back to our normal getting around in the morning which seem nice. We did leave at 9:45 am and headed to Parrish to visit with Cheri’s girlfriend Pat and her husband Roger. We arrived at their house just after 11:00 am. Cheri showed Pat the quilts she has done since the last time we were together. After catching up on what everyone has done since we were last together it was time to head out and have some lunch. After lunch we were back at Pat and Rogers to play a game of Five Crown. It has been several years since we last played and was fun. After more visiting it was time to headed back home. We made a stop at Wal-Mart to see if they got the information back from the insurance and the doctor to cover the prescription, no luck on that. It was a little pass 6:00 pm when we arrived home. Cheri fixed us some good hot soup for supper and settled in for an evening of TV.

We had to get around earlier this morning as we had to be on the road by 7:30 am. Cheri had an eye appointment in Brooksville with a new eye doctor at 9:00 am. Cheri still has double vision and were in hopes this doctor could find out what is causing it. After checking her eye and taking some pictures he found that she has swelling in the eye which may be the cause of the double vision. He gave her a prescription for some special eye drops. She has to go back in a month to see if the eye drops took down the swelling. On the way home we stopped in Brooksville for lunch at the Florida Cracker Breakfast restaurant. I had an omelet and Cheri had a bugger. Everything was very good and plan to stop and eat there next month after her eye appointment. When we got back in Zephyrhills we stopped at Wal-Mart to pick up Cheri’s eye medicine and was told that the insurance wouldn’t cover it so they sent information to the doctor to see if he can get the insurance to cover it. We stopped by Larry and Denise’s to see the new door Larry installed in their shed which is now a garage for the motorcycles. He was just getting ready to build some shelving and was ready for a break. So we played a game of Hand, Knee, and Foot that Larry and I won. I should mention that it was only 44 degrees this morning with a strong breeze which made it seem a lot colder, it did warn to the mid 60’s before the end of the day.

Cheri and I left at 7:45 am for my doctor’s appointment in Tampa. I checked in at the lab for blood work and found out that there wasn’t any order for labs. I am not sure what good it does to see a hematology doctor without labs. I did see the doctor and couldn’t do much without the labs. Long story short I got labs after seeing the doctor and have to go back in three months. In other words it was a wasted trip. It was noon before we got back home. We had a quick lunch and headed to the theater to see the movie Joy at 1:00 pm. It wasn’t a very good movie and was a waste of our time. In fact I even slept through part of it. It was after 3:00 pm when we got home and as far as I am concerned it was a wasted day. I tried to do some computer work and that also didn’t go like I wanted it to. I finally gave up and headed for the recliner to join Cheri and watched some TV. The other thing that didn’t help today was the weather as it was 47 degrees this morning and only made it to the low 60’s. Ok I am done complaining for today, wonder what tomorrow will bring.

It was a very cool and damp day as we had a drizzle of rain almost all day. The temp was in the low 60’s. Grandma didn’t want to go to church as her knee is still hurting her and she said that it was too cold. After church we stopped at Publix’s to pick up a couple of things for Mel and Jan and then stopped by there place for a short visit. They had planned on gong to Sunday school this morning but Mel had a weak spell so decided to stay home. After we left Mel and Jan’s we headed to Wal-Mart to get Grandma’s groceries and then to her place to deliver them. I also had a couple of jobs she needed to have done before we left. After all was said and done it was after 3:00 pm when we got home. Cheri read and watched TV and I went to bed and had a nap. I have been feeling really tired and needed to rest. I slept until 6:00 pm. Cheri fixed pizza for supper and then we settled in to watch a couple of movies we had recorded and then the Green Bay Packer football game which they lost. I don’t think they will get passed the first round in the play offs.

Last night we made plans to go shopping today with Larry and Denise at Ikea in Tampa. They were going to call us with the time we were going to leave so we were ready by 9:00 am. We got an e-mail from them letting us know that they would pick us up at noon. So I worked on the electrical where I installed the back splash and got that done just as Larry and Denise arrived. Cheri took it easy relaxing and reading, she did spend a little time in her sewing room. She is waiting for some sewing templets she ordered so she can finish the quilt that she is working on. We arrived at Ikea around noon and was ready to walk the maze through Ikea. If you have been to an Ikea before you will understand what I mean about walking the maze. We got half way though and came to the food court. So we decided to have lunch there. We have eaten there before and was good. Cheri and Denise both found a couple of things to buy. When we got home I took the car and filled it with gas and got our Power Ball lottery ticket. I had gotten a call from friends in Wisconsin when we were in Ikea so we called them back and they are planning on coming to Florida in March and want to spend some time with us.

Happy New Year to everyone. We pray for peace for our nation and good health for all. Cheri and I are looking to have a better year than last year as far as health goes. Cheri still has the double vision and in hopes we can get something done for that this month. This forenoon Cheri worked on painting trim in the kitchen. She got one coat done and thinks she will have to paint two more coats. I took the door locks and window frame out of the back door so she could paint that without doing any masking with tape. I took down the Christmas Lights and made a trip to Lowe’s to get some electrical receptacles to finish the electrical on the refrigerator side of the kitchen. When I got home I painted the new receptacles to give them a better match to the back splash. This afternoon at 2:00 pm we picked up Larry and Denise and went to Golden Coral for a late lunch and an early dinner to celebrate the New Year. Then we went back to their place to play a couple games of Hand, Knee, and Foot. Cheri and Denise won the first game and Larry and I won the second game so we all finished the day as winners.

Wow! This is the last time to write 2015. Cheri worked all day painting in the kitchen dinette area. She still has the trim left to paint. I worked on grouting the back splash that I have up. It was a long day for both of us. Cheri is happy with the back splash and I also think it looks good now that the grouting is done. One section done and two more to do. I was just thinking it doesn’t sound good when I tell people I have been working on the kitchen over two years. I am going to finish the electrical and then all that is left for that section of cabinets will be the trim work. We celebrated the New Year by watching some TV and going to bed well before the New Year came in.
