Brooke was able to work
from home today and Darren had the day off. So Darren took us out for breakfast
and then across town so Darren could get a haircut. We made a stop at Harbor
Freight to pick up a dolly for a project Darren wants to build which is a
storage unit to put the door from his Jeep. Yes he got a new Jeep and in the
summer he likes to drive it without the doors and top. We also made a stop at
Home Depot to get some PVC pipe and other materials to build it. Then we met
Brooke at Target so Cheri and I could buy them a car seat for the new baby.
When we got back home Darren and I removed the hardtop from the Jeep so we
could take out the soft top which was blocking the back cargo area. Darren
wanted to store it in the garage and found water on the floor which was coming
from the air conditioner. The air conditioner drain was plugged so we got the
air compressor out and blew out the drain pipe and got it opened up. Then we
started working on building the holder for the Jeep doors. We got the PVC pipe
cut. Then it was time to leave and go to Chris and Cheryl’s for dinner. They
fixed us a wonder dinner of pork chops on the grill along with cooked cabbage, creamed
corn, green beans, fresh biscuits, and key lime pie for desert. We had a great
visit and then back to Darren and Brooke’s around 9:30 pm.

Well we were packed and on
the road at 7:00 am heading to Darren and Brooke’s in Roswell GA. We wanted an
early start so we wouldn’t have the rush hour traffic when we got to Atlanta.
So all is good we thought but about 49 miles from home we at a dead stop on
I-75 for 2 ½ hours in a long back up of traffic waiting for a four vehicle
accident to be cleared up. So much for our early start. The rest of the trip
was uneventful and the rush hour traffic wasn’t as bad as the last time, think
it was because we were an hour earlier this time. After visiting with Brooke
and Darren we went to help Brooke’s parents get things cleaned up for the baby
shower Sunday. After we got done we all went out for supper. It was a little
past 9:00 pm when we got back to Darren and Brooke’s. We visited for a while
and then headed to bed as we were both tired from the trip.

I took Grandma for her
9:30 am knee appointment. I was feeling good about it because we were the
doctor’s first appointment. Well we didn’t see the doctor until 10:25 am. She
said that she was running late. When I got home I thought we would be going to
the ER room as a good friend of ours has been really sick and was talking about
going to the ER. But decide to tough it out and not go. Cheri was busy packing
for our trip tomorrow to see Darren and Brooke. I took the car through the car
wash and then gas it up so we would be ready to leave early in the morning.
When I got home we had a sandwich for lunch. I watered the flowers with extra
water in hopes that they will be ok while we are gone. They are old flowers and
I plan on replacing them this year so it wouldn’t be a great lost. Later this afternoon
I loaded the car with some of the things we are taking. We relaxed the rest of
the afternoon checking our list to make sure we had everything we wanted to get
done before we leave. Cheri fixed us a hamburger and fries for supper want to
make sure we didn’t have any leftovers.

It is with a heavy heart I
write the blog this morning. Our friend and brother Mel went home to be with
Jesus.
This morning Cheri went
right to work on her quilt project and I had some computer work along with a
phone call that I needed to get done. We left to go see Mel at 10:00 am. He was
not very responsive and as if he had trouble figuring out who we were. We sat
with Jan and visited while having a sandwich for lunch. Pastor Randy came and
talked to Mel and he did respond a little. We left around 12:30 pm as we needed
to get a few things for Grandma at Wal-Mart. After we dropped them off we
headed home as I had a few things to get done outside and Cheri was back at
work on her quilt project. We went back to check on Mel at 5:00 pm and at 6:15
pm Jesus came to take him home. Pastor Randy came about 6:30 pm to pray with
us. After Pastor Randy left we helped Jan get all of Mel’s things in the car
and Cheri rode home with Jan and I followed in our car. We helped Jan unload
the car and visited a while. We wanted to make sure she was ok before we left. It
was around 8:30 pm when we arrived home. We tried to watch some TV but we both
had a heavy heart. We were sad to have loss a dear friend but happy he is no
longer in any pain and is with Jesus.

Our day started out on the
slow side. Cheri didn’t have a good night’s sleep so she tried to sleep in
longer this morning. We left the house at 9:30 am to go and see Mel. He was
sleeping when we got there and Jan was meeting with a social worker and then a
doctor. She was up a lot during the night and needed to go home and shower plus
had some errands she needed to do. So we stayed with Mel while she was gone. We
finally had to leave at 1:20 pm as Cheri had an eye appointment at 1:30 pm.
Just before we left friends of Mel and Jan came and said that they would stay
with Mel until Jan returned. Cheri got a good report and will be getting new
glasses. She will have one pair for normal wearing and one pair for reading.
She couldn’t have bifocals because of the prism she needs to correct the double
vision. It was 2:45 pm when we got home and hadn’t had any lunch. We had a
sandwich and then headed to Plant City as Cheri needed some material for the
quilt project she is working on. On the way back home we stopped by to see Mel
again and visit with Jan. It was 6:30 pm when we left her and then made a stop
at Larry and Denise’s house to check to see if all was OK. We had leftovers for
supper and settled in to watch Dancing with the Stars. Cheri was happy with the
voting.

Grandma’s knee was hurting
her a lot and when she found out that Pastor Randy was out of town and there
wouldn’t be any message notes for her she decided to stay home. Pastor Carl
delivered the message today it was the best message that he has delivered. It was
from the book of James 3:13-18. Everyone should have someone in their life that
is full of Godly wisdom to help them understand the words of God and someone to
go to when you need help. Cheri and I are blessed to have good friends to help
us. Charlie also had an excellent Sunday school class today. After Sunday school
we went to see Mel and found that he isn’t doing very well. Today is his eighty
birthday. When we left we told Jan that we would be back around 4:00 pm because
several people would be coming to see him. When we got home Cheri went to the
sewing room to work on her latest quilt project. I settled in to watch the
NASCAR race. Cheri got a text from Jan letting us know that Mel was being moved
to Hospice Care here in Zephyrhills between 4:00 and 5:00 pm. So at 5:00 pm we
went to see him and Jan. It is so sad because we know it is just a short time
before he leaves us. But the good news is he will be going home to be with God.
It was near 7:00 pm when we got home. Cheri fixed us pizza for supper which is
our standard meal for Sunday evening.

I was on the road 9:30 am leading
a motorcycle ride to Leesburg for the Bike Fest. There were four of us today
Mike, Norm, Mat and me. It was a perfect morning for riding as the temp was in
the low 70’s. The closer we got to Leesburg the more motorcycles we saw. We
rode to the Harley dealer where we could park and take a shuttle bus downtown
for the rally. There was also a lot of venders at the Harley dealer. There had
to be over 75 thousand people and motorcycles there. It was so crowded it was
hard to get around through all the vendors. Mike and I did find what we were
looking for. On the way home I took a longer way and plus a new road to make
for a 152 mile ride. We got home around 4:45 pm. Cheri work on a new quilt
project. She got a text from Jan that she had to take Mel to the emergency room
this morning. So as soon as I got home we left for the hospital in Dade City.
Mel was alert and talking. He had been dehydrated and was getting an IV of fluids.
Plus morphine for the pain. It was near 7:00 pm when we got home. Had a late
supper and settled in for the evening.

I took Grandma for her
9:40 am doctor’s appointment and we actually got in a little before her appointment
time. She got an excellent report and the doctor said that she was in better
heath than he was. I think that goes for me too. I was back home by 10:30 am.
Cheri had gotten a text from Jan telling us that Mel wasn’t doing well. The doctors
told him that there isn’t anything more they can do for him. It is a very sad
time for us. I got the motorcycle out and filled it with gas getting ready for
our ride tomorrow. Then Cheri and I headed to Lakeland. Cheri wanted to go to
Jo-Ann Fabrics and Beall’s to shop so I dropped her off and I went to Harbor
Freight as they were having a red tag sale. I bought a new hand grinder as mine
quit working when I was grinding on the kitchen floor. I also bought some belt
sand paper. After I picked up Cheri we stopped at Wawa to have a chocolate milk
shake for our lunch. We also stopped at Aldi’s grocery store to get a couple of
things for Jan and Mel plus we got ourselves a few things. We stopped by Mel
and Jan’s to drop off the groceries. We didn’t stay long as Mel was in a lot of
pain and now sleeps a lot. Shortly after we got home I got a call from Mike and
Pam. Mike said that Pam was sick and would not be able to go out for a Friday
night fish fry. We decided not to go as we had leftovers that we needed to eat.
Later settled in for an evening of TV.

We spent the morning doing
paper work for Grandma and had to go over to her place to get some information
and have her sign paper work. It was noon before we got all done with that.
Then I got the grill out and fired up to grill some chicken and a couple of
steaks for dinner. Cheri fixed some the potatoes that I like, sliced potatoes and
onions between the potatoes and cooked with butter. (Maybe not healthy but are
really good). It was almost 2:00 pm when we got done with our dinner. We spent
the rest of the afternoon relaxing and watching TV. Around 4:00 pm we went to
Wal-Mart to pick up some medicine and a new blood pressure monitor. Around 6:00
pm we had a sandwich as we were still full from our streak dinner. We finished
the evening watching TV.

Cheri was busy this
morning doing laundry and cleaning our new floors. I took Grandma for her 9:45
am knee appointment. Once again we didn’t get to see the doctor until 10:45 am.
I always try to get appointments early in the day so we can get in before the
doctors get behind but it doesn’t seem to work anymore. It was around 11:15 am when
I got home and needed to rest a bit before doing my caulking of the base board
and putting in the door moldings. I also made a box to put in our file cabinet
to hold all of our sales receipts. I was all done by 3:00 pm sure feels good to
have everything done in the living room, dining room, and kitchen. Well except
for 4 pieces of base board which is on order. I feel like a large weight has
been lifted off of me. After I showered we took a ride over to Wesley Chapel to
return the rug Cheri bought and didn’t like after she got it home. Then we
drove over to the Wiregrass Shops to have supper at a sandwich place where they
have all the sandwiches for a dollar each on Wednesday nights. Well the place
was closed up and looked like it had been out of business for a long time. Our
next stop was Sam’s Club. We got some of the barbeque pork ribs that I really
like. So the plan was to head home and have ribs and baked beans for supper.
After supper we made phone call to some dear friends back in Wisconsin that we haven’t
talked to for a long time, was good to get caught up on what they have been up
to. We also got a call from our daughter Nikki checking in on us.

We didn’t have any
appointments today so we were able to relax a little longer this morning. Cheri
fixed us a wonderful breakfast of eggs, sausage, and English muffins. As usual
she take very good care of me. Cheri helped me with the base board today. First
we had to move furniture so I could get to the walls that still needed base
board. Cheri cleaned up the mess I make and then follow along behind me filling
the nail holes. By 4:00 pm we had all the base board installed and the furniture
back in place. I still have to do some caulking and install the door base
moldings. The last thing left to do in the kitchen is install the cabinet base
moldings which are on order. I took a hot shower to make me feel better as my
back and neck were hurting. We along with Grandma needed groceries and a few
other things so we headed to Wal-Mart to get that done. From the time we left
the house to the time we got back it took us two and a half hours. So supper
was later today. It was another evening of TV along with some napping before we
finally called it a day.

We were slow getting around
this morning as there wasn’t any free time to work. I took Cheri for her 11:00
am appointment. I waited in the car for her and did my Bible study. On the way
home we stopped and fill the car with gas, seem like I just did that a few days
ago. It was 1:30 pm when we got home. We both had an energy bar for lunch.
Cheri worked on making Lasagna for supper and homemade chocolate cookies. I
worked on the base board in the living room. I worked until 4:00 pm and should
be able to finish the rest of the dining room and living room tomorrow, well
that is the plan right now. I took a nice hot shower and felt much better. We
called an old friend in Wisconsin that we haven’t talked to for over a year.
Just don’t know where the time goes. After a wonderful supper of lasagna,
garlic toast, and a chocolate cookie for desert we settled in for an evening of
TV. Of course with it being Monday night we had to watch Dancing with the
Stars. I do think the judges were too harsh on some of the dances.

It seems like our Sundays
are always the same. We picked up Grandma and took her to church with us.
Pastor Randy had another good message from the book of Romans. Sunday school
was very good also as we are studying the book of Acts. After we dropped off
Grandma we went to see Mel and Jan. On the way we stopped at Publix’s as Jan
texted Cheri and asked if we would pick up some ice cream for them. Mel has
trouble getting around just taking a shower and getting dressed is all he is
able to do. We had a nice visit with them and didn’t get home until 2:30 pm. We
skipped lunch because we had a little snack at Sunday school. We settled in to
watch the NASCAR race I was recording. After the race Cheri fixed us pizza for
supper. Then we watched some shows we had recorded.

I thought I would be gone
this morning before Cheri got up but not to be as she was up before 7:00 am. I
left the house at 7:15 am to pick up Mike and headed to Brooksville for
breakfast at the Florida Cracker restaurant. I had been telling Mike how good
the food was so I thought it would be a good place to go and we weren’t
disappointed. I was back home by 10:00 am and told Cheri I was ready to take
her over to Beall’s to shop as she had some coupons that she needed to use. I
went to Tractor Supply to look around while she shopped. It was around noon
when we got back home and Cheri did find something that she liked. I skipped
lunch as I was still full from breakfast. While Cheri was eating I made a call
to see about getting the car in for an oil change and service. I was in luck
and got a 2:30 pm appointment. So we relaxed for an hour and then headed to
Wesley Chapel where I dropped Cheri off at the strip mall so she could shop
while I was getting the car serviced. When the car was done I called Cheri and
told her I was ready to pick her up and she wanted me to come into Ross’s to
try on a couple pair of pants which didn’t fit right. Cheri did get a couple of
things for herself and a rug to put under the coffee table. But when we got
home she decided she didn’t like the way the rug looked so we will have to
return it. Cheri fixed us a hamburger and beans for supper and then settled in
for an evening of TV. It was a more relaxing day with no work.

After doing some laundry
Cheri went right to work on her quilt rug and I started installing base board.
At 11:40 am I took Cheri for her hair appointment. I just dropped her off and
headed back home to continue installing more baseboard. Cheri called and said
that she was done and ready to be picked up. It was good timing as I was ready
for a break. We skipped lunch today as we are going out for a fish fry at the
Eagles. Yep we are going to try it again. Cheri finished her quilt rug this
afternoon. I quit working on base board around 3:45 pm and have just about half
of the living room and dining room done. I had to take a shower and get ready
to meet Pam and Mike at Walgreens at 4:45 pm. We took our car and went out to
the Eagles for the Friday night fish fry. Everything went really well and the
fish was delicious, best fish we have had in many years. After our fish fry we
went back to Pam and Mikes to play cards. We play Hand, Knee, and Foot which
Pam and Cheri won by more than 20,000 points and we only played three hands. We
play SOB which Pam won. It was a good way to end the evening spending time with
good friends.

Cheri was busy early this
morning getting her laundry done so she could work on her quilt rug. I picked
up Grandma at 9:45 am and took her for her eye doctor appointment. I thought
yesterday was bad waiting for the doctor but today was worse. Her appointment
was for 10:00 am and we didn’t get see the doctor until 11:35 am. Needless to
say I was fluming and was exhausted when I got home. We skipped lunch today as
we were going out to Golden Corral at 3:30 pm with Larry and Denise as it is
their last night here before leaving for Canada. I did order the additional
base board that I need for the kitchen. I also got the sales receipt sent off
to the insurance company. It was 2:00 pm when I got done and Cheri was ready to
quit also so we tried to watch some TV but had a hard time staying awake. After
eating at Golden Corral with Larry and Denise we went back to their place to
play on last game of cards. We said our goodbyes and headed home. I hope I can
get some work done tomorrow.

I forgot to mention
yesterday that Cheri had dropped a drinking glass on the corner of the counter
top and it exploded into thousands of little pieces that were all over the
counter top and the whole kitchen floor. It was a good thing I was here because
she was barefoot and couldn’t move until I did some sweeping up of the glass. I
have seen drinking glass break before but never to this extent. This morning I
took Grandma for her knee appointment to have an injection to help relieve the
pain she has. Her appointment was at 10:00 am and we didn’t see the doctor
until 11:20 am. So it was noon before I got home. Cheri was busy working on her
rug quilt and I think all she has left to do is to put on the binding and some
quilting. Last week I got an e-mail that our sound bar replacement was in so we
made a trip to St Pete to pick it up and on the way back we stopped in Tampa
that the air conditioning place to get a paid receipt to send to the insurance
company so I can get the money that would have went to the repair of the old
air conditioner. It was 4:00 pm when we got home. Cheri started supper and I
started getting the sound bar installed. I did get it working but will have to
make some changes to make it fit in the space that it has to sit. After supper
we settled in for the evening watching some shows we had recorded.

The air conditioning
people were true to their word as a guy named Chris was here at 9:15 am to work
on removing the old air conditioner. About half an hour later two more guys
showed up with the new air conditioner. All three of the guys were very polite
and had the new air conditioner installed and everything cleaned up plus a new thermostat
by 12:30 pm. It’s not very often that I am impressed but these guys did a great
job. Cheri continued working on her quilt rug after getting her Tuesday house
work done. At 1:00 pm Mel and Jan stopped for a visit and to see our new
kitchen and flooring. After they left we made a trip to Lowe’s to get some
screening to put over the fan on the new air conditioner to keep the leaves out
of it. After searching the store I found something in the garden area that
would work. We were back home by 4:00 pm and got the screening cut and
installed. Cheri and I both headed to the recliners to relax before supper and
both fell asleep for a 45 minute nap. A little after 5:00 pm Denise called to
see if we want to play cards. So after supper we went over and play two games
of cards. The girls won and we guys won one. In between everything today I
tried to get some base board installed but never really got any done but did
find out that I didn’t have enough for the kitchen and will have to order some
more.

I took Cheri for her 9:45
am appointment. I waited in the car for her as it was a nice cool morning and
got the Sunday school lesson read and ready for class on Sunday. We got home at
11:30 am and on the way we got a call that a guy (PJ) was on his way to check
out the air conditioner. He arrive around 12:30 pm and found that the condenser
coil would have to be changed. I found out that the air conditioner was twelve years
old and decide not to put money in the old one and they are coming back
tomorrow to install a new air conditioner. After PJ left I went to work on the
base board. Just got a good start when Larry and Denise came on the motorcycle
and had a screw that he could remove from the primary case. So we work on it
and wasn’t able to get it out so he is going to take it into the Harley dealer
when he gets home. Larry and Denise will be leaving in a few days so we decided
to play some cards. We played one game of Hand, Knee, and Foot which Cheri and
Denise won. Then Cheri and Denise made Philly Steak sandwiches for supper.
After supper we played one more game of Hand, Knee, and Foot that Larry and I
won. After Larry and Denise left we settled in to watch Dancing with the Stars.
Cheri was disappointed with who got voted off.

Today was pretty much the
same as all of our Sundays. We took Grandma to church with us. Church and
Sunday school were both excellent, good message and good lesson. We dropped
Grandma off and was going to go by Mel and Jan’s but Mel wasn’t having a good
day so headed home. We had to stop at the grocery store to get some milk which
we forgot to get yesterday. Our air conditioner isn’t cooling so I filled out
the paper work on line and should hear something tomorrow on when someone can
come and check it out. I think it is low on Freon and hope all it needs is to
be recharged. Cheri worked all afternoon on her quilt rug and I spent the
afternoon watching the NASCAR race that I had recorded.

It is good to be flexible
as plans can change. I had planned on cleaning up the mess I have in my shop
from laying flooring. Well we got a call from Larry and Denise wanting to know
if we wanted to go to Lakeland. We had to go to Wal-Mart to drop off a prescription
for Grandma’s medicine. Then picked up Larry and Denise and headed to Lakeland.
We dropped off Cheri and Denise at Beall’s and Larry and I went to Harbor
Freight. Denise had found fabric cutting blades at Harbor Freight that were
around 75% cheaper than at Joan Fabrics. So I picked some up for Cheri and some
blades for cutting carpet and got a free screw driver set that will stay in the
house to use. Larry got a couple things and a free tape measure. Then it was
back to pick up Cheri and Denise and head to Sam’s Club. We didn’t need
anything but still spend over hundred dollars. We eat lunch while we were there.
Then we headed back to Zephyrhills and stopped at Wal-Mart to get groceries and
medicine for Grandma. Larry and Denise also had a couple things they needed.
Then we dropped off Larry and Denise at their place and headed to Grandma’s to
deliver her groceries and medicine. Then home to put away the things we bought
today. Then I dropped Cheri off at Hobby Lobby while I went to Lowe’s to buy
the baseboard. An hour later I was back to pick up Cheri. It was after 4:00 pm
when we finally got home. Never did get to my shop to do any cleaning. Cheri
had put a corn beef in the crockpot this morning so we had corn beef and
cabbage for supper. Was going to watch the NASCAR race this evening but was in
a rain delay and finally went to bed at 10:00 pm and the race still hadn’t
started.

I left the house at 8:15
am to take Grandma for her fasting lab. We got in on time and I was able to be
back home early to work on the kitchen flooring. Larry came around 11:00 am to
help. It was slow going because of all the odd cuts that we had to make. We
finished around 3:00 pm. it took me another hour to get things cleaned up. All
that is left to do is put down the baseboard and the living room, dining room,
and the kitchen will be done. Cheri did laundry and worked on her rug quilt
project all day. After supper we went over to Larry and Denise’s to play cards.
Cheri and Denise won the Hand, Knee, and Foot game. Larry and I won the Pinochle
game. We were back home early I was just too tired to play anymore.

It was a good day in the
Sharps house today. I took Cheri for eye appointment this morning and got a
good report. The swelling in her eye is all gone. The doctor has reduced her
eye drops to one a day and wants to see if her eye is still ok in a month. We
know her eyesight has improved since the swelling as gone down so now she can
get new glasses. She still has the double vision and I think that is a
different problem that will have to be addressed. On the way home we stopped
once again at the Florida cracker Kitchen for lunch. When we got home Cheri
went to work on cleaning all the dust I made from grinding on the leveling
compound. I worked on getting the rest of the underlayment put down. I just got
done and it was time to take Grandma for her 3:30 pm doctor’s appointment. We
got right in on time and she got a good report and doesn’t have to go back for
six months. This evening we met Pam & Mike and Sandy & Ron for dinner
downtown Zephyrhills. It was a good meal and not too busy so we could visit.
After dinner we all came back to our place as they wanted to see our new
flooring and kitchen cabinets. So it was a wonderful day that God made for us
giving us praises Cheri and Grandma plus being able to spend time with good
friends.

was just ready to call when my phone rang and it was Ron. We talked for a while
and got caught up on what each of us has been doing. I was just going to
recline the seat and take a nap when Cheri came out as she got in early. We had
an early lunch when we got home as I wanted to get to work on the flooring. I
checked the self-leveling compound I poured and it was hard like a rock. I got
my belt sander out to smooth out the edges and found that the sander wouldn’t
even work because it was so hard. I had to get the grinder to get it smoothed
out. Needless to say I made a really dusty mess from the grinding. We now have
a heavy layer of dust throughout the house and I have an unhappy wife. Larry
came to help me at 1:00 pm. It is slow moving as there are so many special cuts
to be made which takes a lot of time. We worked until 6:00 pm and still have a
little over half the kitchen to do. Cheri had a down day and wasn’t in the mood
to do anything. She is tired of mess we have in the kitchen and she so wants it
to be done. After a nice hot shower Cheri had supper ready. It was after 7:00
pm before we were ready to settle in for the evening.

There wasn’t any work done
in the Sharp house today. Cheri, Denise, and Denise’s niece went shopping over
at Wire Grass. I went on a motorcycle ride which I enjoyed very much because I
didn’t have to plan it. So I was able to relax and not have to worry about
keeping everyone together. Mike had set up the ride and we left at 9:30 am
riding north and Mike took us on some roads that I hadn’t been on before. It was
4:00 pm and 180 miles later when we arrived home. Cheri was already home from
shopping. It was time for us to get cleaned as we had to be at church by 6:00
pm. It was men’s night out. Our dinner was put on by the men’s group and we had
wings and fries. We had our choice of mild, medium, hot. I stuck with the mild
and medium. We had a very motivational message about discipline each other to
better understand Gods word. Cheri was at Ladies night out which was with the
ladies from our Sunday school class. She said that she had a good time. This
was the first time she was able to attend. It was 9:00 pm when we arrived home.
We watched a little TV and called it a night. Thank you God for providing us
with great friends.

We had a wonderful spring
day with very little humidity and a temp in the high 70’s. I took Cheri for her
appointment this morning and I waited in the car doing my Bible study along
with the next Sunday school lesson. On the way home we stopped by Larry and
Denise’s and Larry was just getting the motorcycle out and was coming over to
our place. So Larry follow us home and we went right to work on putting down
the floor leveling compound. It didn’t take very long to do it but I am not
sure how well it is going to work. I will know more tomorrow after it sets. I
can see I will have to do some sanding to feather out the edges. After Larry
left I took the motorcycle and filled it up with gas to be ready for our ride
tomorrow. I also stopped at the grocery store for Cheri as she is making a
cranberry salad for Ladies Night Out tomorrow evening. I removed the dishwasher
so we can do the flooring where it sits. Cheri was busy with her ironing and
making salad. She did find some time to spend in her sewing room. We had
homemade chicken soup for supper that was left over from yesterday. We settled
in to watch Dancing with the Stars. Once again Cheri made the right pick on who
was going to get voted off.

It was a cool morning,
almost jacket weather. Grandma went to church with us this morning. Pastor
Randy had an excellent message from Romans 14. Titled: When you don’t agree. He
brought out many good points that I would never have under stood just from
reading it. After we dropped Grandma off at home we went to see how Mel and Jan
where doing. Mel is having a very hard time with all the pain in his back.
After we left Mel and Jan’s we made a stop at Wal-Mart to pick up a few things.
It was near 4:00 pm when we finally got home. I headed to the recliner to watch
the NASCAR race that I had recorded. Cheri sat down with the Sunday paper that
she didn’t get read this morning. Cheri fixed us Pizza for an early supper as
we didn’t have any lunch today. The rest of the evening was spent watching TV.

It was a gloomy morning as
we had rain coming which arrived around 10:00 am and continued until midafternoon.
We received a little over half an inch. Cheri worked all day in her sewing room
and now as another quilt sewed together and it is ready for her to quilt but
has decided to put it on hold for now and go back to work on the rug she is
making. I spent my time in the kitchen deciding on how I was going to level the
floor and decided to use the self-leveling compound. I had to patch all the
screw hole that was left in the subfloor from the old under lament. The rain
had let up so I headed to Lowe’s to get the primer and leveling compound.
Wouldn’t you know it was raining really hard when I got ready to leave Lowe’s?
When I got home we had a late lunch and Cheri was making chicken noodle soup in
the crock pot to have for supper. I put the primer on the floor and it is now
ready for the self-leveling compound. My day was done around 2:30 pm. I settled
in the recliner and watched the NASCAR truck race.

Cheri and I pulled the
plug today as we traded our house for a forty foot class A diesel pusher motorhome
and plan on going back to full time RVing. Our first trip is going back to
Alaska. Well it is April fool’s Day. Cheri did her Friday house work and then
spent the rest of the day in her sewing room working on the quilts she and
Denise are making. I took Grandma for two appointments this morning so it only
left this afternoon to get any work done. I did get the rest of the old
flooring removed from the kitchen. Larry and Denise stopped by as they had been
out for a motorcycle ride and Denise said it was too hot to ride. Larry helped
me finish removing the flooring. By the time I got everything cleaned up with
Cheri’s help it was 4:00 pm. I was ready for a nice hot shower and later for a
nap in the recliner. After supper we settled in for an evening of TV.

Hey I did write the blog but forgot to upload it.
We had a more relaxing day and didn’t feel rush to get anything done. Cheri finally got her sewing room reorganized and is ready to get back to quilting. She had me hang a few pictures. I went and got a haircut this forenoon, something I should have done a week or so ago. I also worked in the shop and got the router attached to the new router table so I am now ready to try it out to see how it works. We got a call from Jim and Jennet Frye letting us know that they were going to be late getting to our place because they were in stop and go traffic. Jennet’s parents and my parents were good friends when we were very young and have kept in contact for over 70 years. I went and picked up Grandma and brought her over to our place so she could see our cabinets and new flooring. Jim and Jennet arrive at 3:00 pm and visited until 5:30 pm and then we all went to Golden Corral for dinner. Then it was back to our place for more visiting. Jim and Jennet stayed until 9:30 pm. They only had to travel as far as Wesley Chapel where they had their motor home in a campground. I took Grandma home and she said she enjoyed the afternoon and evening.
