We were on the slow side getting ready this morning. I didn’t have any work away from home today. Cheri had a heart doctor’s appointment this morning and I went with her. She got a good report with no changes in medications. Her heart is still in A-fib but has a more steady rhythm and not jumping up and down. When we got home Cheri did ironing and worked in her sewing room. I went outside to clean the rain gutter and just got a good start when it started to rain. It was a short shower and went back to work on the cleaning when the rain stopped. It was a gloomy day and just didn’t feel like doing any work. I also got a call from a party here in our park that wants their bathroom remodeled. I told them that I wasn’t doing bathrooms anymore. I do enjoy the remodeling but is getting to be more than my body can handle. Maybe if I get to feeling better I could handle it. I did some computer work this afternoon checking out state campgrounds here in Florida. From what I am looking at it is almost impossible to get a reservation. People who have a reservation rebook them the day they leave so they will have it for the next year. I thought a short trip to a state campground would a good shake down with the new camper before heading out for a long trip. I still have to finish the caulking on the camper but the weather hasn’t cooperated. It was a normal evening of TV, still watching Christmas movies. Thank you God for blessing us with a restful day.

At 8:30 am we headed to Dade City for church and Sunday school. Pastor Randy’s message was titled “Developing a Good Appetite” from 1 Peter 2:1-3. Our Sunday school lesson was titled “God Calls”.  God calls His followers to represent Him and His purposes in this world. We were later getting home as I was busy in the kitchen getting the coffee pots cleaned up. Plus we move some furniture around in the lunch room. I really wanted to watch the Packer football game but couldn’t get it so watched some of the Bucks game. The last I checked the Bucks game it was tied and wanted see how it turned out. The overtime lasted only a few seconds as the Bucks tried a pass and got intercepted and was run back for touchdown, game over. Then they showed the last few seconds of the Packer game which was an exciting finish with a win. We watched a few movies and shows this afternoon as well some napping for me. It was a rainy gloomy day but was nice and warm. Thank you God for time spent with you and friends today.

I just realized this morning that we are back to gaining more day light each day. We all say that the days are getting longer but we still only have 24 hours in each day. Cheri and I were out the door at 7:20 am on our way to the Hole-in-Donut shop for breakfast. I had a call yesterday to check out a project at 10:00 am this morning. It was to repair the plaster and wall board around a skylight in the house. It had leaked and there was a lot of damage. The guy has the house up for sale and wanted it patched up instead of repaired. He said he just wanted it to look nice for the sale. I told him that I wouldn’t do the job because that isn’t the way I do things. If I can’t do it right I am not doing it. He wasn’t very happy with me and I told him that I had a repetition that I don’t do shabby work. I was going to finish the caulking on the camper but it was too windy. I almost lost the camper cover the other day when I was caulking. I ended up doing a lot of computer work plus ordered a couple of things for the camper. Cheri was busy with getting the house back in order from the Christmas decorations. We got a call from Pat and Roger (friends from Maine) that want me to keep doing the blog and also got a couple of e-mails with support to keep doing it. Later this afternoon it started to rain not much but enough to be miserable and was still raining when we went to bed. We had leftover spaghetti and garlic toast for supper. Just another normal evening of TV. Thank you God for a blessed day.

Cheri started the laundry this morning and then at 7:15 am Cheri and I went out for breakfast at the village inn. When we got home I got the containers down so Cheri could pack up all the Christmas decorations. I helped her take the tree apart and get it boxed up and back in the storage room. Cheri continued with laundry and housework. I went out and got things I needed to work on the camper. I removed the bad caulking from around the front cap of the camper. I got one side done before I got rained out. I was hoping I could get this project done today. Maybe it was good thing that the rain came because I was getting pretty tired. When I got home I showered and headed to the recliner to join Cheri who was watching a movie. I couldn’t stay awake to watch the movie so I had an hour and a half nap. Cheri fixed us spaghetti and garlic toast for supper. Later in the evening we had a bowl of ice cream for a treat while watching TV. Thank you God for helping us have a productive day.

Cheri was busy this morning with laundry and removing Christmas decorations. I have to get the containers down so she can start packing them up. I worked at place here in the park repairing a leaky shed roof. Then I stopped to check out a floor installation project which I will be doing in late January. So with the afternoon off and a new camper what should you do? Yep we made a trip to Camping World to pick up a few things for the camper. It has been seven years since we had a camper and surprised at all the new and different things that are now available for campers. The rest of the afternoon and evening was spent in our recliners napping and watching TV. Thank you God for a blessed day to be out and about.

PS. On another note I have been doing the blog for fifteen years. We started the blog so our children and family could follow along as we traveled and could share our experiences and also for my mother (Grandma) who was death and was able to see what we were doing. Now with her gone and us not traveling I think it may be time to close the blog. As I look back it is pretty much the same each day. I would like to hear from you. Just drop me an e-mail at sharps@sharpstravels.com.  Just put blog in the subject line so I know it about the blog. I do try to take pictures of my work but forget to take them when I start or when I finish a job.

I pray everyone had wonderful Christmas and got to spend time with family and celebrate the birth of Jesus. This is our first Christmas without any family being with us. We did have a good day as we were invited out for dinner at Dick and Linda’s as there were eleven up us. We got to meet some new friends and had fun time playing a game that got everyone laughing. It was around 6:00 pm when we got home. We got a video call from Darren, Brooke, and Wyatt. Wyatt was able to show us all of the toys he got for Christmas. It was fun as he was showing us how everything worked. We also got a call from Nikki and it is her first Christmas without any family. She said that she was sick and stayed home. We tried to call Kari but the call went to voice mail so could only wish her a Merry Christmas. We tried watching some TV this evening but we both ended up falling asleep so we headed for bed where we did watch another show before calling it a night.

I headed out at 7:00 am for my accountability group breakfast and Bible study. We finished John chapter 11. Cheri started to do some house work this morning and I told her no work today. Around 11:00 am our neighbor Jean came over for a visit and to wish us a Merry Christmas. The rest of our day was spent in our recliners watching TV and a lot of napping for me. We went to candle light service this evening and then to friend’s house for a Christmas Eve party. There were twenty of us and had a very good meal with all kinds of food and lots of deserts. We played a couple of games and then had a White Elephant exchange which was fun. It was close to 10:00 pm when we got home. It was a gloomy day with no sun and a misty rain most of the day. We did have a high temp of 66 degrees. Thank you God for time spent with you, celebrating the birth of Jesus, and Christian friends.

I checked and we received 2 ¼ inches of rain over the last three days. Cheri fixed us a breakfast of scrambled eggs, sausage, juice, toast, and coffee. After breakfast I was feeling really tired and went back to bed for another hour and a half. I didn’t have any work today but did go to check out another job but the people weren’t home. I did some computer work and then to the recliner to relax. Cheri was busy in the kitchen making some spinach & artichoke dip for tomorrow night. We left the house at 1:30 pm heading to Tampa VA as I had a follow up appointment for my lung scan. Nothing as change in the last six months which is good news. We got more rain this afternoon and was rainy drive home. We watched a few shows that we had recorded which I napped though most of them. Cheri fixed us waffles for supper which were good and hadn’t any for some time. More TV this evening along with watching the Green Bay Packer football game which they won. Thank you God for blessed day with safe travels and a good doctor report.

We have rain. It stated Saturday afternoon and has continued to rain all day Sunday and has I write the blog for yesterday it is still raining. I haven’t checked the rain gauge and will wait until is over. Pastor Randy’s message was titled “God with Us!” from 1 Peter 2:4-5 and Luke chapter two. Our Sunday school lesson was titled “God Saves”. Jesus came to earth for the purpose of saving all people who will turn to Him. We had a large verity of cookie and candy for Sunday school. After everyone got the fill there was enough for a cookie and candy exchange. We had a relaxing afternoon watching some Christmas movies. After our normal Sunday night pizza we headed back to church for the Eirinn Abu concert which was very good. We had seem him last year when he was here. Click here to learn more about him http://www.eirinnabu.net/. It was close to 9:00 pm when we got home. Thank you God for a blessed day with church friends.

Cheri and I did the Hole-in-One donut shop this morning for our usual Saturday morning breakfast. Cheri was busy this morning making cookies to take to Sunday school tomorrow. Everyone is to bring some of their home made Christmas cookie to share. I made a change to our outside lights. They were coming on in the evening and not going off until the sun comes up in the morning. They now come on at dusk and then off four hours later. That was the only thing I did today. Well I did have a nap while Cheri was baking cookie. When Cheri was done with the cookies we watch some Christmas movies on the Hallmark channel. I learned something today. I have heard about yule logs and thought it was log that was put in the fireplace on Christmas Eve. I now know it is something good to eat. I guess I need to get out more. Later this afternoon Cheri and I headed to Lakeland to get a picture stick for her phone. She needs to download all the pictures she has on her phone. It will be another new learning process for us. After we got the photo stick we went to Harry’s Seafood Bar and Grill for dinner. It is still our favorite place to eat. We were back home by 5:30 pm and settled in for our evening of TV. Thank you God for a blessed day.

Our day started with Cheri getting the laundry started and then fixing us a breakfast of eggs, sausage, toast, juice, and coffee. I didn’t have any work scheduled away from home today. So we left the house at 8:30 am with a stop at the bank. Then we headed to Land of Lakes to meet the couple we bought the camper from at the DMV. We were finally able to get the title transferred to us. Then we went to Dade City to get some stock that Grandma had with the power company transferred into our name. Then a stop at Wal-Mart for a few things we needed. Having had a big breakfast we skipped lunch. This afternoon we installed the new cover on the camper. It was a big job and took a lot longer than I thought it would. I could never have done it without Cheri’s help. We had planned on going to Lakeland to do some shopping and going out to eat at Harry’s Seafood Bar and Grill but after the camper we were too tired. After getting cleaned up we decided that the recliners were a good choice for the afternoon. Cheri fixed us pork chops, potatoes, and green beans for supper. It was normal evening of TV with popcorn and some candy for a snack. Thank you God for helping us through this day.

It was another cold morning and needed a long sleeve shirt and a jacket this morning it wasn’t so much the cold but the wind made it very cold. Cheri already had laundry going early before I left for work in Tampa Bay country. I installed 5 new smoke detectors and large picture for one party and installed a new light fixture for another party. I was back home by 1:15 pm. I had lunch and then headed to the recliner to relax a bit. The bit turned into a two hour nap. Cheri went out for lunch with Ron & Sandy and Mike & Pam to celebrate Mike’s birthday. I couldn’t make it because of work. After lunch Cheri went for her haircut and then shopping in Dade City at the fabric shop. I was still asleep when she got home. We watched more of the shows we had recorded and then had leftovers for a late supper. After supper we continued watching TV. Thank you God for guiding us through this day.

Our high temp for the day was 67 and that was at 4:30 am. By 8:00 am it was down to 54 degrees along with a stiff breeze. The sun didn’t come out until later in the day which helped get the temp back up to 60 degrees. I was back at work in Tampa Bay country this morning. I had planned on finishing the work for the couple I have been working for but Patty had to leave this morning. I had a light fixture to hang in the entry way and needed her to tell me how high it needed to be. So I will be going back to hang the fixture and then I will be done working there until late January when I remove kitchen cabinets. It was after 5:00 pm when I got home. I needed the hot shower to get warmed up. Cheri worked in her sewing room and has started another new project so now she had two project she is working on. Cheri made a green bean casserole for supper along with some garlic knots which was very good. It was a late night with TV as we wanted to see the final episode of Survivor. It was a very interesting season with a lot of twist and turns. Thank you God for a blessed day.

I left the house at 7:00 am for my accountability group breakfast and Bible study. We studied John 11:1-37. The plan for the day was to do some cleaning in shop and get the truck organized. Well so much for plans. I got a call at 9:00 am from a party here in our park. The floor in their pantry with is above the air return broke and fell into the air return. I ended up building a new frame and floor for the pantry. I also got a call from Ron and Sandy Sharp wanting to come and see our camper but told him I was on a job. Things went well with the pantry job and called Ron and Sandy to see if they still wanted to come. They were still in Zephyrhills so they came over to see the camper. After they left I headed for the shower to get cleaned up for my eye appointment in Tampa this afternoon at 3:30 pm. We were going to do some shopping afterwards but got a message from Pam that she had taken Mike to the ER with chest pains. So after my appointment we headed back and Pam said that they were still waiting for the results on some test and he was going to be admitted. He had failed a stress test last week and was waiting for a heart cauterization procedure that was to be done in January. Pam said he was resting and not to come because there were a lot of people with the flue in the ER. We did stop and get Pam something to eat and she came out to the car to get it. We had a hard rain come through this evening and got 2 and 1/4 inches. We are still trying to get caught up on TV shows we have recorded. Thank you God for our day and be with our friends that need help.

I was back to work in Tampa Bay country still working for the same people. It seems like every day I work there they have something additional for me to do. Today I finished the plaster and applied the texture coat and is ready for paint. I got the grout installed around the vanity back splash, hung a large mirror in the master bathroom, installed two towel bars, and installed the vanity sink faucets and drain. I was done at 3:30 pm and headed for home. Cheri did here Monday house work and then went shopping. She is having fun shopping for things to put in the camper. Today she bought a foot stool for in front of the couch with storage in it. This evening we met Larry and Denise at Culver’s for supper and then back to our place to play one game of Hand, Knee, and Foot that Cheri and Denise won big time. They are leaving for Canada in the morning to spend Christmas with their family. Thank you God for guiding us through this day.

We left the house at 8:30 am heading for church and Sunday school. Pastor Randy’s message was titled “The Gift of Love” from 1 Peter 1:22-25. Sunday school lesson was titled “God Requires” from Numbers 20:1-13. On the way home we stopped at Beall’s. Cheri saw a lawn chair in Beall’s advertisement this morning and thought it would be nice for the camper. Well they didn’t have any but I did buy a new belt to replace one Cheri bought for me back in 1970. We decided to take the rest of the day off and just chill out to watch some TV, reading, and of course some napping for me. I am going through withdraw, no football or NASCAR racing to watch. A little after 8:00 pm we called Nikki to see how she was doing. She said that they didn’t have any snow but was 19 degrees for the day. Just makes me realize why we are in Florida. It may have been 54 degrees this morning but warmed up to 76 for a nice day. Thank you God for time spent with you and friends today.

Cheri and I headed out at 7:15 am to the Hole-in-One donut shop for our usual Saturday morning breakfast. When I walked up to the counter the young lady looked at me and said good morning and you want a sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich, two cinnamon rolls, and two coffees. I just looked at her and said yes. I was surprised and had a good laugh. When we got home Cheri went to work in her sewing room. I decided to go do some work for a lady here in our park to check out a shed roof as we had rain yesterday and wanted to see if it had leaked. Sure enough there was some water on the floor. So when roof dries up I will do some patching on it. I also did some work in the house. I installed some baseboard, vent diffusers over the cooling and heating vents, and some trim work around the kitchen counters. It was around 3:30 pm when I got home. I really needed to clean out the truck and get it restocked for Monday but was too tired to get it done. Cheri and I talked for a bit and showed me what she got done on her quilt project. It is a project with a lot of detail work and is going to take her a while to get it done. After I showered and got cleaned up we watched a couple of shows before Cheri fixed supper. We watched a few shows we had recorded. One we really like is Building off the Grid, fun to see all the different ideas and how they do things. We each had a bowl of ice cream while watching TV.  Thank you God for a blessed day.

Friday the 13th, several people think it is a bad day. I did some searching and found that there are several things that may be why people thinks it is a bad day. I really don’t think any of them hold water. Cheri was busy with laundry and Friday’s housework. I think she also spent some time in her sewing room. I worked over in Tampa Bay country today. I put on which should be the final coat of plaster. I work on installing a backsplash around the new vanity. I was installing glass tiles and had a hard time cutting them breaking in the wrong place. (I was beginning to think maybe there is something to the Friday the 13th). After cutting several tiles I finally got some that would work. I also had some trouble with the pencil tiles. It was a long day and didn’t get home until 5:15 pm. I headed for the shower to let the muscles soak under some hot water. Cheri was busy getting supper ready as we were invited over to Larry and Denise’s for cards this evening. Larry and I came out the winners this evening. It was around 10:00 pm when we got home. We tried to watch some TV in bed but that didn’t last long before we were asleep. Thank you God for a blessed day.

I was up at 4:00 am this morning as I had to leave at 5:30 am for a 7:00 am C Scan at the VA in Tampa. Of course they wanted me there 30 minutes before my appointment time. I was done with the scan by 6:45 am. I waited around until 7:30 am so I could get a second scan canceled as they had me set up for another scan for the same problem. From there I went to see about getting one of my hearing aids repaired. They will be sending it in for repair and will have to go back to pick it up and have my hearing aids readjusted. After all was said and done I was back home at 9:30 am. Cheri saved me some coffee and fixed me some scrambled eggs with bacon and cheese for a late breakfast. Cheri was busy with the laundry, ironing, and Thursday housework. I went outside to straighten up the shop while waiting for Mike to bring is van over for me to work on. He got new license plate and one of the bolts broke off. I had to take the rear door apart so I could do some drilling and cutting to get the broken piece out. It took a couple hours to get it fixed. I decided that I was done for the day was resting for bit before taking a shower. So much for the rest as I got a call from a lady here in our park that said she was having trouble with her toilet and that it wouldn’t fill with water. So I headed out to check it out and found the trip chain for the fill valve was caught on another part of the fill stem. With some readjusting I got it working again. When I got home I headed for the shower. Pam called and wanted to know if we wanted to go out for dinner with them. It sounded like a good idea so we picked them up at 4:30 pm and headed for the Abbey in San Antonio. We had a good meal and then headed back to Pam and Mike’s for a bowl of ice cream and visiting. Pam bought out the Christmas candy she had made. I eat more than my share of it and Pam sent some home with us. Thank you Mike and Pam for a wonderful evening. Thank you God for good friends and helping us through this day.

Cheri was busy with her usual Wednesday house work. Plus a lot of miner things she needed to do. I headed to Tampa Bay country for work. I installed a new vanity cabinet where I had taken out a new that I had installed a few weeks ago. The new vanity top has a built in sink and the faucets from the other new vanity will not fit so they will have to get different faucets. I did some more plaster work, installed a glass shelf in the bathroom, Installed new toilet paper holders in both bathrooms, installed a new medicine cabinet, and installed a cabinet over the toilet. I got home a little after 4:00 pm. Very tired and ready for a hot shower. Cheri fixed us BQ from the left over beef roast we had a couple of days ago. It was a normal evening of TV watching Chicago Med, Chicago fire, Survivor, and Building off the Grid. Thank you God for a blessed day.

Cheri and I left the house at 7:30 am heading to Tampa Bay country to help Don & Dee Langston load a U-Haul truck and a trailer as they are moving to northern Florida. I have done work for them the last couple of years and have become good friends. We could only work until noon which might have been a blessing as I was really tired at noon. We had to head for home and get ready for Larry and Denise to pick us up at 2:30 pm. We went to St. Pete to see Enchant Christmas. We had tickets to get in at 4:00 pm. It was a nice displace of lights, walking maze, venders, and ice skating rink. We did enjoy it but cost too much for what we saw. With all the advertisements as it was played up to be something special, maybe we expected too much. We wouldn’t go again. On the way home we stopped at Bob Evan’s for supper. We had a really good meal and a wonderful waitress who really took care of us and even made reconditions on what we might like. It was 8:00 pm when we got home. We were both tired from the moving work this morning so headed to bed early.

It was a warm morning and didn’t need a jacket today. Cheri put a beef roast along with carrots, onions, and potatoes in the crockpot to have for supper this evening. She also did her normal Monday house work. I am not sure what else she worked on today. I headed out at 8:30 am to Tampa Bay country to take apart an entertainment center so it would be ready to move. I didn’t take any lunch with me because I thought I would only be there for an hour or so. Well I helped them do a lot of packing to get ready for their move. I didn’t get home until 4:00 pm. I was really tired and ready for a nice hot shower to relax the muscles. After a good supper we settled in for a normal evening of TV or I should say Cheri did as I napped most of the evening. Thank you God for guiding us through this day.

It was a nice morning that we could got out without a jacket. It did take a while for the clouds to give way to the sun for a beautiful day. Pastor Randy’s message was titled “Thankful for the Cross” from 1 Peter 1:18-21. Our Sunday school lesson was titled “God Judges” from Numbers 14:5-19. Refusing to trust God and His promises leads to judgment. When we got home we got Cheri’s Christmas quilt out and hung up. I headed out to check out a flooring job which I had planned on doing while the couple is up north for Christmas. But after talking to them they want to wait until they get back. I found several soft spots in the floor that will have to be repaired before installing the flooring. When I got home Cheri and I took a few things over to the camper and plugged the brake cord into the truck to make sure it would work with the new brake controller, everything checked out is ready to use. I also did some computer work before settling in for late afternoon of TV. Which didn’t work for me as I napped for through a couple of shows. Then we watched a couple Building Alaska shows which I really like and that keep me interested so I stayed awake. Cheri fixed us the normal Sunday evening pizza and later a bowl of ice cream. Thank you God for time spent with you and friends today.

There isn’t that many people living that can remember what happened on Dec 7, 1941. But we must learn the history for what happened on that day and pray nothing like that happens again. Cheri and I did our normal thing of going to the Hole-in-One for our breakfast. Today we were a half hour late getting around. After breakfast we made a trip to Wal-Mart to pick up some things we needed. Cheri bought me a new watch for Christmas. When we got home I sat down and read my Bible along with Cheri. I waited for it to warm up some before going out to work on the truck. I did get the brake controller installed. I couldn’t find what was wrong with the factory wiring so I run a new lead. Now all I have do is hook the truck to the camper to set up the controller. This evening was our Sunday School Christmas party. I would guess there were around 50 of us. We had a good time and one of the things we did was picture contest. We all had to give Charlie a picture of us when we were young. Charlie and Jan laid them out on the table with a number beside each picture. Then we all were supposed to write done who we that each person was. There were 27 people that participated and the most anyone got right was 11. Cheri got second place with eight. It was after 9:00 pm when we got home. Thank you God for a blessed day and time spent with Christian friends. I have posted pictures of Cheri’s Christmas decorations.

I got a call this morning at 7:15 am from the lady I worked for yesterday telling me she didn’t have power in half of the house. So I knew from yesterday what the problem was. She had called the power company and they got there just before me. I told them what was wrong. So they checked out things on their side of the meter. I asked them if they could leave the meter out for me to change the breaker. Which they did and ask me to call when I got the breaker installed. When I got the call this morning Cheri and I were just about to leave for breakfast at the Village Inn. We went ahead and had breakfast as the place where I had to go to get the breaker wouldn’t be open that early. So after breakfast we picked up the breaker and headed home to get the truck and my tools to install the new breaker. When I got done I called the guy to come and install the meter. Within half an hour I got a call from the lady saying she had power again. The brake controller I order for the truck came so I worked on installing it. I am having a problem with the power wire to the controller. I finally had to quit for the day and get cleaned up. We were picking up Larry and Denise at 4:00 pm to head to Tarpon Springs to see the boat parade this evening. On the way we stopped at Calver’s for supper. We needed to leave early as we knew the rush hour traffic was going to be bad. We got there around 6:45 pm. As it turned out we were about five blocks from where the parade was going to start. But saw a lot of boats in the canal and found that it was staging point for all the boats that was going to be in the parade. So actually we saw all the boats line up and headed out for the 8:00 pm starting point. Long story short we saw the whole parade and were on our way home by 7:45 pm. Thank you God for putting us at the best place to watch the parade and enjoy it with friends. I will post some pictures of the boats and also a picture of some mice that Cheri made for a dessert for tomorrow evening Christmas party.

Cheri was busy with the laundry this morning and then went shopping with Denise. I worked here in the park today. I worked on a five foot kitchen sink base. I remove the water damaged shelf and floor of the cabinet. I cut out a new floor and shelf and installed it. It was a job cutting around all the plumbing to get it to fit right and of course the cabinet was square. Things were going well until this afternoon when I went to use the saw and didn’t have any power. I figured it was just a tripped breaker. But all the breakers were set in the on position. I found a ground fault breaker in the bathroom and I couldn’t reset it so figured it was bad. When I opened it up and took a voltage measurement I found there was any power to it. Next I went to the breaker box and checked the power there and found that one phase coming into the house was missing. Then I went outside to the meter box and checked there. I reset the main breaker and then had the power back in the house. The lady told me that last night at the power was off a little bit but only on one side of the house which means the outside breaker was dirty or is going to need to be replaced. Long story short the base cabinet is all back together and is better than it was when it was new. It was close to 4:00 pm when I got home. Cheri showed me the things she bought and where they went shopping. She proceeded to get supper ready while I took a shower. She fixed us a hamburger helper which I think was some kind of Mexican meal. It was ok but not the best. It was a normal evening of TV before calling it a night. Thank you God for guiding us through this day.

It was a much better day than yesterday but still cold in the morning but warmed up to the low 60’s. Cheri and I were both slow getting around this morning. Cheri continued with her Wednesday house work and Christmas decorations. I went to check out a job here in the park I will be working on tomorrow. I needed to get some measurement as I will be installing a new bottom base and self in the kitchen sink cabinet. I worked on cutting out a new base and self and have them ready for tomorrow. Cheri and I went over to the camper to measure it and found that it is 24 feet long and I thought it was only 21 feet long. I needed the measurements because I ordered a cover for the camper. I also worked on getting the truck loaded for work and some additional cleaning in the shop area. I quit at 3:00 pm and had done enough for the day. Cheri was also done for the day except for making supper for us. We watched a couple of shows before supper. Cheri fixed us enchiladas for supper, it was very good. It was another evening of TV with popcorn and a cookie for my snack and Cheri had a cookie.

It was only 38 degrees this morning, the coldest so far this season and that is cold enough for me. The high for the day was only 54 degrees. I was out the door a little pass 7:00 am for my accountably breakfast and Bible study. Today we studied John chapter nine. There were nine of us today. On the way home I got a call from my best man. He was checking in on us as he didn’t know that Grandma had passed away. I had a nice visit with him. Cheri and I left at 9:00 am and headed to Land of Lakes to the DMV to get the camper transferred into our name. We met the seller there. The lady at the credit union told us we would have to wait 48 hours before we could get the transfer down. We weren’t able to get it done as the DNV hadn’t received the lean pay off. The seller called his credit union and they now told him it would take seven to ten days before the DMV would receive the payoff letter. So we headed home. Cheri busied herself with Christmas decorations and I worked outside getting the truck bed wash out and trying to put things away in the shop and shed. This evening was the Church Christmas Party and dinner. We were disappointed as the ticket price went up by $5.00 to $15.00 per person and was nearly as good as last year. We were home by 8:00 pm and cold from being out. So we turned on the electric blanket and crawled into bed to watch TV. Thank you God for getting us through another day.

Our high temp for the day was this morning around 5:00 am. From there it went downhill all day with a stiff wind. It was nice in the sun out of the wind but cold when out in the wind. Cheri and Denise spent the day shopping. She came home with more things for the camper. I did some office cleaning around my computer. Paper and other things pile up and it was time to go through everything and get rid of things we no longer need. I made a trip over to the VA office to see what upcoming appointments I have. I have two eye appointments on the calendar and know one was cancelled and couldn’t remember which one it was. I started to do some work out in my shop but I just couldn’t get into it so I went back in the house and rested. I actually took a two hour nap. Late this afternoon I went to Lowe’s and got some damp-rid for the camper. The wheel covers I order came this afternoon so I went over and put them on the wheels, hung the damp-rid, and paid for six months of storage. Cheri was home when I got back. She showed me all the things she bought for the camper. I think she is having fun shopping for the camper stuff. Cheri fixed us scrambled eggs on toast with chip beef gravy. It was a normal evening of TV with a couple of cookies for a snack. Thank you God for a blessed day.

Cheri and I left for church a little earlier this morning as I was in charge of making coffee for our Sunday school class. Pastor Randy’s message was titled “Thankful for the Cross” from 1 Peter 1:18-21. In Sunday school we started a new lesson book today. The lesson title was “God Leads” from Numbers 9:15-23. God leads His people according to His will and purposes. After Sunday school I got the coffee pots cleaned up and ready for next Sunday. I helped load chairs and tables to be taken to Bill and Sharon’s place for our Christmas party Saturday night. Then we went out for lunch with them along with Jerry a Cookie. It was a good time and got to have some one on one visiting. Later this afternoon Larry and Denise came over to help me get the truck hooked up the camper and showed me how to hook up the equalizer bars. Things went well getting the camper into storage. I did order some tire covers to keep the sun off the tires and also order a cover for the air conditioner. After getting the camper in storage Larry and Denise came back to the house. We played a couple of games of Hand, Knee, and Foot. Cheri and Denise won the first game and Larry and I won the second game. After the first game Cheri fixed us pizza for supper. Thank you God for time spent with you and good friends along with all the help from them.

We were out the door before 7:00 am to meet Mike and Pam for breakfast at the Hole-in-One donut shop. We had a good visit and then they came over to check out our camper. After checking the camper Cheri and Pam went to Beall’s. I went over to Mike and Pam’s to get Mike’s air compressor to pump up the tires on the camper. I loaned Larry our compressor to do some floor work and never thought about pumping up the tires before he took it. We made a stop at Lowe’s to pick up some pavers to put under the tires of the camper when we put it in the storage lot. The rest of the day was spent working with the camper. I got the hitch installed on the truck and plan on using it tomorrow to put the camper in storage. Larry and Denise stopped by this afternoon and asked them if they would come over tomorrow and Larry to help me get hooked up and set up the equalizer hitch on the truck. I have never used one before and Larry has had a lot of experience them. Cheri was also busy putting away fall decorations and getting out some of the Christmas decorations. I will be getting out more of them tomorrow. Thank you God for a blessed day and good friends for helping us.

Larry and Denise picked us up at 9:00 am this morning to go and get the camper. Larry and Denise are going to pull it home with their truck because I don’t have a brake controller on our truck and didn’t want to pull the camper without brakes. I think it was around 11:30 am when we got it home and set up in front of our house. We can only have it here for 48 hours which is a park policy for loading or unloading and washing the camper. While Cheri was working on putting things in the camper I went to find a place to store it. There is a campground next door to our park and found a spot to store it which is close by to work on it. The rest of the day was spent doing some cleaning on the outside of the camper. I also removed a cargo carrier on the back of the camper. We spent some time showing the camper to neighbors and getting ourselves familiar with the camper. At 5:00 pm we locked it up and quit for the day. Cheri fixed us steak and eggs for supper. Cheri and I were both really tired this evening even though we didn’t work that hard. Think it was just the stress of getting the camper home. I want to thank God for blessing us with this camper, the help of Larry and Denise, and finding a place close by for storage. We haven’t had time to take any pictures but here is the link to the advertisement of the camper with some pictures. https://tampa.craigslist.org/pnl/rvs/7027105197.html

I want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. We are so blessed to live in a country where we have freedom and able to worship Jesus Christ our Lord. Cheri was busy with Laundry this morning and I was doing more checking on the camper we bought yesterday. We need to find a place where we can store it. We picked up Larry and Denise to go out for Thanksgiving dinner at 1:00 pm. By going at 1:00 pm I thought the main rush would be over. We had planned on going to Lakeland for Chinese but Cheri had called and they were closed. So then today we planned on going to Golden Corral but when we got there was a long line of people waiting to get in. So we decide to go on down the road to Sonnies and found that it was closed. So we continued down the road to Sunrise Eatery. There were several people waiting to get in but not as bad as Golden Corral. We ended up waiting about 45 minutes. The meal was good and then went back to Larry and Denise’s to play cards. It was a fun afternoon playing and visiting. We got home a little after 8:30 pm. We got a call from Nikki wishing us a Happy Thanks Giving and had a nice long visit with her. We watched one show before calling it a night. Thank you God for a blessed day and good friends.

I tried to sleep in this morning but that only lasted until 5:15 am. It was cool 43 degrees this morning but quickly warmed to the high 70’s. I did some internet searching looking at campers. I found one that looked pretty good and texted them to see if it was still for sale. Not hearing anything I went out to do some cleaning in my shop and work area. Well I got a text back that it was still for sale. I called them to see about checking it out and said that today was good for them. So I called Larry and Denise to see if they would go with us to check it out and they said that they would. So we picked them up and headed to Odessa about 35 miles away. Cheri and Denise checked the inside and Larry and I checked the outside and then went inside to check things out. After that we did a more detailed inspection on everything inside and out. Larry did find a couple of places that needed to be caulked. The camper is a 2018 Forest River. The model is a Prime Time Avenger 21 feet long with one slide out. It looked like it had never been used but the owner said that they used it three times. The reason they are selling it is because of health problems. Long story short we are now the new owners of the trailer. We will be picking it up on Friday. This evening we met Don and Dee Langston at Plaza Mexico at 4:00 pm for dinner. They are a couple we have met through my working for them. They have sold their house and are moving north in the panhandle of Florida. They are a great couple and are going to miss them. Thank you God for guiding us through this day and blessing us with friends and a new camper.

It has been in the low 40’s the last couple of weeks and this morning was no different with a temp of 43 degrees. I left the house at 7:00 am for my Tuesday morning accountability group breakfast and Bible study. There were only six of us as many are gone for Thanks Giving or sick. We studied the last half of John chapter eight. I left a little early as I needed to get home by 8:45 am so Cheri could leave for her appointment. The truck is still in the garage for repair work. Hard to get along with just on vehicle. The rest of my day was spent in my recliner I just haven’t had the energy to do any work. I watched TV and napped the rest of the forenoon while Cheri did her house work and a visit with our neighbor Jean. I did go for a haircut at 12:15 pm. When I got home it was back to the recliner for more rest. I slept the rest of the afternoon. At 4:00 pm we went over to Larry and Denise’s. The four of us headed to St Pete to see the Enchant Christmas at Tropicana Field. Well when we got there it was all quite. It turned out that it doesn’t start until next week. Cheri and Denise both checked the dates and thought it was this week. Some of the things in the advertisement were miss leading. We weren’t the only ones as three other cars came and they were also confused and thought it was on this week. So we headed for home with a stop at Applebee’s for supper. Long story short it was after 9:00 pm when we got home. We were both tired so we head to bed and watched some TV there. Thank you God for this day and time spent with friends.

It was 44 degrees this morning and only got up to 68 degrees for a high. Cheri and I went for our dentist appointments this morning. Mine was for 8:00 am and Cheri’s for 9:00 am. Normally we would take two vehicles but with the truck being in the dealership for repair we had to go together. When we got home Cheri busy herself with Monday’s housework and then spending time in her sewing room working on a new project. I put a few things I needed in the car and went to Tampa Bay country to install the garage light and fix a couple of other electrical problems. I also installed new water filters in their refrigerators. It was around 2:00 pm when I got home. Cheri fixed us a late lunch and then I went to repair a roof here in the park. I was done and home by 4:30 pm. After my shower we settled in to watch some TV before supper. Supper was late today because of the late lunch. I napped through a couple of shows. We got a video call from Darren, Brooke, and Wyatt. It is so much fun talking and seeing Wyatt. They are doing good and said that their weather is cooling off and all the snowbirds are starting to arrive for the winter. Thank you God for blessed day.

We left for church a little earlier than we usually do as I had to make the coffee for our Sunday school class. Pastor Randy’s message today was all about prayer. Our Sunday school lesson was titled “Walking to Battle” from Ephesians 6:10-20. How we need to put on the armor of God. It was around 1:00 pm when we got home. Cheri and I were both tired and settled in our recliners to watch some TV. But we both did more napping than watching. Larry and Denise stopped by to bring back my tile saw that he had he used for a tile project. We had our usual Sunday evening pizza for supper. Cheri went to bed at 8:30 pm and I stayed up to watch the Green Bay Packer football game but ended up going to bed at half time as I couldn’t stay awake. Thank you God for time spent with you and friends.

Cheri and I did our usual Saturday morning breakfast at the Hole-in-One donut shop. We were there by 7:00 am. Cheri’s plan for the forenoon was to work in her sewing room. I planned on getting the drone out and flying it again this morning. But got a call from Tampa Bay country about a garage light that didn’t work so I headed over to check it out. It turned out to be a bad ballast. So I headed back to Lowe’s to get a new light and will be installing it on Monday. It was too late to get the drone out as we were picking up Larry and Denise at 1:00 pm to go to Treasure Island to see the sand sculptures and venders. We had a hard time finding a place to park. They did have event parking but the lots were all full. After much driving around we did find a spot. The sand sculptures turned to be a disappointment as there were less than half as many has last time we were there. On the way home we made a stop at Sam’s Club to get gas for the car and salt for our water softener. We stopped at Culver’s for supper and all had the kid’s meal. After dropping Larry and Denise off we headed for home. It was a little past 7:00 pm when we arrived home. I settled in to watch the Wisconsin Badger football game I had recorded. Thank you God for safe travels and being with friends.
