Not much going on today. We talked to Darren this morning to find out how they made out from the hurricane. He said that they were ok but a lot of flooding from the water off the mountain. Got see Wyatt as he was ready to go for the first day at his new school. Cheri continued working in her sewing room and adding the additional quilting things she got yesterday. I worked over at Kacey’s today. I got the entry door done and installed a security light on the back of the house. I was done by noon and not able to do anymore, just too hot to work outside. After getting cleaned up Cheri and I had a sandwich for lunch while watching a show on TV. This afternoon I did a few things on the computer, read, napped, and watched more TV. Thank you God for a blessed day.

It was a normal Sunday with church and Sunday school. Pastor James delivered the message today. It was titled “Desperate Prayer” from Luke 11:5-13. Our Sunday school lesson was titled “What is Life About” from Ecclesiastes 12:1-14. The wise person fears and obeys God. I was talking to Don Cleveland and had told him that Cheri was a quilter. Well at Sunday school he brought a big box of quilting material and books for Cheri. He said that his wife no longer does quilting and wanted Cheri to have all of her quilting materials and quilting books. On the way to pick up our normal Sunday Pizza we stopped to check on Larry and Denise’s house and everything looked good. This afternoon and evening we settled in with reading, napping, and watching movies on TV. Cheri went through all the quilting things and found many things she can use. We also took a trip down memory lane looking at our wedding pictures, honey moon pictures, and reading a log Cheri kept on our honey moon trip. After 54 years there was a lot that we didn’t remember. Thank you God for time spent with you and church friends.

We were slow getting around this morning. I did plan on working over at Kacey’s on the entry door today. But after hearing the weather with a heat index of 105, I decided it was a good day to stay in the house. Cheri spent some time in her sewing room. We also spent time with our Sunday school lesson and Bible study. I spent time on the computer updating the Linger Longer and Mens Night Out list. After lunch I settled in to watch the Green Bay Packer football game. Cheri read and napped while the game was on. Cheri fixed the leftover beef roast for supper. We watched an episode of Dateline. The NASCAR race wasn’t on TV as it had been preempted for the Buccaneers football game. So I got the computer set up so I could watch on it. I managed to watch the football game and the race at the same time. Cheri went to bed long before I did because the race ran late. Thank you God for a blessed day and keeping us healthy and safe from the virus.
Gay Aug-27-21

Cheri was busy today with laundry and working in her sewing room. I went to Kacey’s to work. I got the quarter round installed long the base of the cabinets, worked on the entry door sanding and patching the hole, and installed a new flag holder. We didn’t have any lunch today as Cheri fixed us waffles for breakfast this morning. After getting cleaned up we relaxed, read, and napped this afternoon. At 5:00 pm we met Dick and Linda for supper at Culver’s. We had a good visit with them going over the Sunday school Linger Longer that Cheri and Linder are putting together. Dick and I went over the Mens Night out that we are in charge of, got the food menu figured out. After that we went Harbor Freight for sand paper, Pharmacy for my meds, and Lowes to return materials I didn’t need. It was around 7:30 pm when we got home. We sat and read our books until it was time for bed. We had a hard but short rain shower that cam through this evening. Thank you God for a blessed day.

I was back at PT at 8:00 am. It does seem to be helping some and scheduled me for eight more sessions. I was back home a little after 9:00 am and Cheri and I visited until it was time for me to leave and go to Ron and Sandy’s to install a new kitchen water faucet. Ron and I had a nice visit after I got done. It was around 1:30 pm when I got home for a late lunch. I just finished lunch when I got a call from Dennis and Sue. A friend of theirs has a leak around the their kitchen water faucet. So I picked up Dennis and went check it out. It was leaking under the sink and found that it was a gasket in sprayer that was leaking. I didn’t have any the right size with me so I turned the old gasket over and reinstalled it which stopped the leaking. After that I went to check on another job here in our park to remove a stove hood and install a microwave over the stove. It is going to be a big job as there is going to have to be some changes for the microwave to fit. I plan on doing that project next Thursday. Cheri was busy today with fixing a roast beef with carrots, potatoes, and onions in the crockpot for supper. She also did laundry and worked in her sewing room. This evening we watched a couple episodes of Life Below Zero the Next Generation. Also watched another movie from the bunch I bought. Thank you God for helping us through this day.

No work away from home today. Cheri left for her haircut at 9:00 am and a stop at the grocery store. The Bug man came at 9:30 am to spray in the house and around the outside. I did computer work and for the most part things went well. I did run into one problem with the new computer that I will have to have Darren help me with. We left the house at 11:30 am for the noon church service in Dade City. Pastor Randy’s teaching message was on Psalms 29. On the way home we made a stop at Ollies as Cheri wanted some more books to read and I also got a couple of books. Cheri reads about four to my one. It was after 2:00 pm when we got home and still hadn’t had any lunch. We decided to rest awhile before having an early supper of waffles. We both did some reading and napping this afternoon. At 6:30 pm we went to Chick-fil-A to have a peach shake. The rest of the evening was watching a movie we had and then a home improvement show before calling it a night. Thank you God for time spent with you.

I left the house at 6:20 am heading to Dade City for my accountability group breakfast and Bible study. There were seven of us this morning. We studied Acts chapter 24. I was home around 9:00 am. Cheri had just finished breakfast and had already mopped the floors. She also worked in her sewing room. I worked over at Kacey’s this morning and finished the baseboard install. I was done by noon and didn’t do any more work today. I did make a trip to Lowe’s to pick up a piece of quarter round for under Kacey’s kitchen cabinets. Cheri and I both read and napped this afternoon. This evening I went out for security with Dennis and quit a little early because it started to rain but ended up with just sprinkles. We watched some Off the Grid building and some home reservations. Thank you God for guiding us through the day keeping us healthy and safe from the virus.
Gay Aug-23-21

I had a PT appointment at 8:00 am. It was another good work out and had to set and relax when I got home. Cheri was busy with housework, sewing room, made a pie, and make chicken and dumplings for supper. This afternoon I checked Donna Perkins house and checked the battery tender I installed on her car, everything was ok. I worked over at Kacey’s this afternoon on installing baseboard. I quit at 3:00 pm and headed home to get cleaned up. Cheri and I read some before it was time for supper. This evening we got a pretty good rain which lasted for about an hour. We watched 48 Hours and some home improvement shows before calling it a night. Thank you God for helping us through this day.
Gay Aug-22-21

We left the house at 9:00 am for church in Dade City. Pastor Randy’s message was titled “The Gospel and Grace” from Galatians 1:1-5. I was tired and had a hard time staying wake in church and Sunday school. Our Sunday school lesson was titled “Facing Death?” from Ecclesiastes 9:1-10. The wise person gracefully lives all the days he or she is granted. On the way to pick up our Sunday pizza we made a stop at the pharmacy to pick up Cheri’s meds. We settled in front of the TV watching a movie while eating our pizza. I didn’t see all of the movie as I couldn’t stay awake. After my nap I started watching the NASCAR race. Cheri read while I watched the race. Later we watched another movie and home improvement shows. Thank you God for time spent with you and friends.

Cheri and I went out for breakfast at the Sun Rise Eatery. I had told Cheri yesterday that we wouldn’t be able to go for breakfast because the painting wouldn’t be done. Well, we worked hard and got it done. So I had to take her out for breakfast this morning. When we got home we went to work in the sewing room removing all the masking tape, cleaning the floor, and hanging the quilts back up. Cheri continued to work in the sewing room. I went to Lou Kirwood’s to put the new part in the bathroom faucet. Then I went to Kacey’s to work. I finished the master bathroom today. I also went to Lowe’s to get some DapRids for her house. She has a lot of moisture, think there must have been a huge water leak at one time. I also bought a new light kit for our bedroom ceiling fan. Ever since I moved the ceiling fan from the living room to the bedroom we haven’t had enough light. So with the new light installed we now are able to see better in the bedroom. Cheri fixed us sloppy Joes for supper. We watched 20/20 and then the Green Bay Packer football game. Cheri read while I watched the game. Thank you God for a blessed day.
Gay Aug-20-21

No work away from home today. But Cheri and I worked really hard on getting the sewing room painted. I had to make a trip to Lowe’s for more paint. We were short by about a half of quart. We did get all the painting done. Still have to remove the masking tape and put the electrical cover back on. Cheri has a big job of getting her quilts hung again and getting every thing arranged in the sewing room. Cheri fixed the last of the meat loaf and mashed potatoes for supper. We watched the last show of Alone and a couple of movies before calling it a night. Thank you God for a blessed day getting the painting done.

No work away from home today. Cheri and I were busy painting in the sewing room this morning. We finished the feature wall and got the cabinets moved back in place. We left at 11:30 am for the Wednesday noon church service. Pastor Randy’s study today was Psalms 26. Ron and Sandy joined us for the church service and we went out to Chili’s for lunch and a visit. It was after 2:30 pm when we got home. We rested and read until it was time for Dennis and Sue to pick us up to go out to Culver’s for supper. Cheri was happy, no cooking today. We settled in this evening watching one of the movies we brought, Broken Trail with Robert Duvall and Thomas Haden Church. It is a movie we watch many years ago and didn’t remember much of it. Thank you God for time spent with you and friends today.
Gay Aug-17-21

I was out the door at 6:30 am heading to Dade City for my accountability group breakfast and Bible Study. There were eight of us today. We finished Acts chapter 23. When I got home Cheri was busy painting in her sewing room. I filled some nail holes for her and then got ready for my PT. I had another good workout and was sore this afternoon. I filled the car with gas on my way hone, Cheri was finishing up the painting for the day. Then she made a meat loaf to put in the oven for supper. We rested this afternoon reading for Cheri and reading and napping for me. Cheri made garlic mashed potatoes to go along with the meat loaf. It was very good and have more for another meal. We watched a home improvement show before I went out to do security with Dennis. When I got home we decided to call it a night and watch some TV in bed. Thank you God for a blessed day.

Gay Aug-16-21

I had a 9:00 am appointment to get my second shingle shot. Cheri was busy in her sewing room starting the paint project, she has one wall about ready for paint. I did some work for Lou Kerwood this morning along with a visit with her. When I got home I worked outside removing the old flowers and shrubs from the front of the house, time for something new. I had a 2:00 pm doctor appointment this afternoon which was just a phone visit. It did miss up my work for the afternoon. I got lazy and didn’t do anything this afternoon except to read and nap. Dennis brought over some spaghetti sauce that Sue made, so we had spaghetti for supper with garlic toast. We have watched everything we have recorded and not able to find anything else that is interesting to watch. So we watched one of the movies I bought, the last of the Jason Bourne series. Thank you god for getting us through this day healthy and safe.

I watched some of the Green Bay Packers pre season football game before leaving for church at 9:00 am. Pastor Randy’s message was titled “God can use Anybody” from Colossians 4:12-18. Our Sunday school lesson was titled “Where is the Balance?” From Ecclesiastes 7:11-22. The wise person realizes God offers wisdom to the imperfect. After Sunday school we had a meeting with Pastor Randy as he is putting together a trip to Israel. Cheri and I would like to go but need to pray about it. On the way home we order our normal Sunday pizza from Domino’s. It was after 1:30 pm when we got home. Cheri read her novel this afternoon and I watched the rest of the Green Bay Packer game. Then settled in to watch the NASCAR race. After the race we had the Domino’s sub we order when we got our pizza. The evening was watching Dateline and two episodes of Mountain Men. Thank you God for time spent with you and friends today.

No work today. We needed a day off. We did go out to the Black Eyed Pea for breakfast this morning and then to Wal-Mart for groceries along with several other things we needed. That was the extent of our day. We didn’t have any lunch because of the large breakfast. This afternoon was spent with Bible study, Sunday school lesson, reading, napping, and watching TV. Cheri fixed us chipped beef gravy over scrambled eggs on toast for supper. This evening we watched a movie and Mountain Men. It was a lazy day and enjoyed it. Thank you God for a relaxing day.
Gay Aug-13-21

Cheri and I spent time together for breakfast and coffee, well I guess we do most mornings. I didn’t have to be anywhere early this morning so was able to spend time with Bible study. I did have a 10:00 am appointment with a church friend to help him install a new microwave. After we got it installed we sat and had a cup of coffee and a good visit. It was around 1:30 pm when I got home. Cheri had been busy setting out some new table decorations along with her other housework. We had a protein bar for a late lunch because we were going out for supper. After my shower Cheri and I rested reading and napping. At 5:00 pm we went to Culver’s to have a fish dinner that we split and then a cup of ice cream. This evening we watched a Hallmark movie and Mountain Men before calling it a night. Thank you God for a blessed day and good friends.
Gay Aug-12-21

I had a 7:00 am PT appointment this morning and was sore afterwards. So when I got home I rested and had coffee with Cheri. She was already doing the laundry. The other night we had some of a Pam’s chicken and noodles for supper, had chicken sandwiches with Dennis and Sue, had chicken sandwiches for lunch, and going to have more of Pam’s noodles for supper. I told Cheri I would be crowing like a roster and she no that Pam’s noodles was fixed with hens breast. I said how do you know that and she said because they were tender. I had no answer but had a good laugh. I worked over at Kacey’s for a while today. I thought all I had to do was reinstall a shower wand and put the faucet back together. Well when I was pushing on the faucet it all came louse. After checking, the board that the faucet was fasten to was only wedged in-between the studs. So I had to get some additional lumber to fix that problem. Long store short it took longer today than I thought it would. I was done by 3:30 pm and ready for a hot shower. Our evening was watching a home improvement show and a couple episodes of Mountain Men. Thank you God for guiding us through this day and keeping us healthy and safe.
Gay Aug-11-21

No work today. I had PT at 9:00 am for my back. I had a good workout and was sore when we were done. On the way home I took the truck through the car wash as it has been a few weeks since I last got it washed. I also made a stop at the pharmacy to drop off some paper work. When I got home I rested and did myBible study. We left the house at 11:30 heading to Dade City for the Wednesday noon church service. Pastor Randy’s message was from Psalms 24. When we got home we just had a protein bar for lunch because we are going out for supper. The afternoon was spent reading and napping. We picked up Dennis and Sue at 4:00 pm and went to the new Chick-fil-A for supper. It was good and will go back again but as of now I think Culver’s is a better choice. We were home by 5:30 pm. We settled in for an evening of reading, watching Mountain Men, and Two Chicks an a Hamer. Thank you God for time spent with you and friends.
Gay Aug-10-21

I was out the door at 6:30 am heading to Dade City for my Accountability Group breakfast and Bible study. Today we finished up Acts 21 and started on chapter 22. Cheri was busy with her exercises, housework, and a phone visit with Jean our next door neighbor. I headed out at 9:30 am to work at Kacey’s. I got the bathroom door sanded down so it closes correctly. Worked on the shower faucet as it was very loose on the wall along with the shower stem. I ran into some problem trying to get things tightened the way they should be. Who ever installed the faucet didn’t do a very good job. I got most of that done but ran out of energy to finish the project. I quit at 3:00 pm. After my shower I headed to the recliner for a nap before supper. Monday our friends Mike and Pam headed up north for a vacation and brought over some more of Pams chicken and noodles for us which we had for supper this evening. We watched a couple of episodes of Mountain Men. I went out at 8:00 pm to do security with Dennis. I was back home a little after 9:00 pm. We were both tired and called it night but did watch some more TV in bed. Thank you God for a blessed day.

Cheri had a follow up appointment with the heart doctor this morning and received a good report. She also made a double batch of chocolate chip cookies for me. She was able to start her exercises again today. I worked over at Kacey’s today. My job was to make another bedroom door close properly. I had to bring the door home so I could cut some off the side of the door. I did have a problem with it as they always say measure twice and cut once. Will I did that and I still cut too much of and had a lot more work for myself to make it right again. Late this afternoon I went over to Dennis and Sue’s to install a drop down self on the frame of the lattice we installed a few weeks ago. It was around 4:00 pm when I got done for the day. After a shower and getting cleaned up I headed to the recliner to relax before Cheri fixed us the leftover baby back ribs and a baked potato for supper. We watched a home improvement show, an episode of 20/20, and AFV’s before calling it a night. Thank you god for helping us through this day.
Gay Aug-8-21

We were back to a normal Sunday. We left for church at 9:00 am. Pastor Randy was back from his vacation. His message was titled “God Can use Anybody” from Colossians 4:2-14. Our Sunday school lesson was titled “Why Listen?” From Ecclesiastes 4:13-5:7. The wise person heeds the warnings gained from past mistakes and godly counselors. After Sunday school we called in our pizza order and then headed back to Zephyrhills to pick it up. We watched a home improvement show while eating our pizza. I tried to do some reading before the NASCR race started but ended up napping. For supper we had the Italian sandwich we ordered with our pizza. Then watched an episode of 48 hours. Thank you God for time spent with you and Christian friends today.
Gay Aug-7-21

No work today, just didn’t feel like doing anything. We did make a trip to Sam’s Club which turned out to be a $200 dollar trip. We picked up a rack of baby back ribs to have for lunch when we got home Normally we would have them for supper but decided to have big lunch and forget about supper. Our afternoon was spent reading and napping. I even went to the bedroom for my nap as I was very tired. Around 5:30 pm Cheri did fix us grilled ham and cheese sandwich. Then we had the concrete mixers we got at Culver’s last night, it was like concrete when we got it out of the freezer. We watched some home improvement shows before calling it a night. Once again it was in the low 90’s and high humidity and only got a small shower. Thank you God for a blessed day.
Gay Aug-6-21

I left the house at 8:30 am for my PT appointment. I am finally getting some treatment for my back, taking a long time. Cheri was busy with laundry and still taking it easy for her groin to heal. It was 10:30 am when I got home from PT. I rested for a bit before going to Kacey’s to do some work. I got the caulking done on the bedroom door and the floor cleaned up. The rest of the afternoon was napping and reading in a new novel that I am having trouble getting into it. Cheri fixed us an omelet for supper along with an English muffin with honey. Later we headed out to Culver’s drive through for a couple concert mixers. By the time we got home they had melted and put them in the freezer, maybe tomorrow we can have them. They don’t do well in 92 degree heat. We had never watched the Jason Bourne movies. So watched the second one this evening. Thank you God for getting us through the day keeping us healthy and safe. Because of the new Delta virus we have been wearing our mask again. This morning I see that there is another new strain out.
Gay Aug-5-21

Cheri was busy today with laundry and healing from her heart Cath as they went up through her groin. I worked over at Kacey’s today, worked on the bedroom door installing a new jamb and leveling up the top jamb. Long story short the door is done except for filling nail holes and doing the caulking. I was done at 3:00 pm. I was very tired and ready for my shower to get cleaned up. I tried to start a new book but couldn’t get my mine into it. So I gave up and took a nap. For supper Cheri fixed a ham casserole that she had frozen. We watched several episodes of home improvement shows and one episode of AFV before calling it a night. Thank you God for getting us through this day.

It was a no work day. We went down to the club house 9:00 am for a park wide meeting with the manager. We received some good information on the problems we are having in the park and with the entry gate. After the meeting we went and picked up my meds. Then left at 11:30 am for the noon church service. Pastor James delivered the message today from the book of Lamentations chapter 3. We had rain most of the day but only received 3/4 inch. The rest of our afternoon was spent reading and napping. Dennis and Sue picked us up at 3:45 pm to go out for Mexican at Plaza Mexico. Being so close we were back home by 5:00 pm. We did more reading and then watched an episode of Two Chicks and a Hammer plus an episode of AFV. Thank you God for spending time with you and friends today.
Gay Aug-3-21

It was a stressful day for us. Cheri had to be at the hospital for her heart Cath at 10:00 am. I planned on reading my book while I waited for her but forgot to bring the book. Things went well for Cheri, she didn’t get sick and got clean bill of heath as there weren’t any blockages. It was around 2:30 pm when we got home. We both headed to our recliners to rest. Around 4:00 pm I went to Jersey Mike’s for subs to have for an early supper. After supper I had to get things ready as Darren was going to call at 5:00 pm to set up our new Apple computer. We never had an Apple computer so it will be a new learning curve for us. It was 9:30 pm before Darren got done with moving everything on to the new computer. Cheri went to bed around 9:00 pm and it was around 10:00 pm for me. We will see how things go in the morning when I do the blog. Thank you God for productive day and giving a Cheri a good heart report.
Gay Aug-2-21

We had a little rain off
and on most of the day. I went over to Mike and Pam’s at 10:00 am to install so
post lights for them. After that was done we had a good visit, seems like with
all the doctor’s appointment it’s hard to get together. When I got home and I was
unloading the truck when Dennis stopped by to see how we were doing. He still
hadn’t got the fold down table made, so we went through the lumber I have here
and found a piece that would work for him. I got it cut to the right size for
him. I while I was cutting I got the door jamb cut for Kacey’s project. It was
1:30 pm when I got done. I was sweaty and wet so took a shower and got cleaned
up before eating a late lunch. That pretty much took care of our day. The rest of
the afternoon was reading and napping. Cheri fixed the leftover French bread
loaf for supper. The evening was more reading and watching a few episodes of
Cold Justus. Darren was going to call this evening to set up our new computer
but didn’t hear from him. Thank you God for helping us through this day keeping
us healthy and safe.

First I want to wish my lovely wife a happy birthday. We left for church at 9:00 am. Pastor Randy is still on vacation so Pastor James delivered the message today. The message was titled “Frantic and Panic” from Luke 10:38-42. Our Sunday school lesson was titled “What Time Is It?” from Ecclesiastes 3:1-15. The wise person stewards time, realizing God controls all things. After Sunday school we along with Dick and Linda went to Sonny’s for lunch to celebrate Cheri’s birthday. We had a good lunch and visit with Dick and Linda. My project this afternoon was to get Cheri’s new cell phone loaded with all the things from her old phone. It took a while finding the right passwords and me learning how to do some of the things which I never could have done without God’s help. Cheri got a birthday call from Nikki, Darren, and an e-mail from Kari. She also got a call from her girlfriend Pat. I was pretty stress from getting Cheri phone done so it was time for me to have a nap. We both did reading this afternoon. Didn’t turn on the TV until around 6:30 pm. We didn’t have any supper because of the big lunch today, but did have a bowl of ice cream while watching TV. Thank you God for blessing us with church and friends today.

Singing happy birthday to Cheri in Sunday school. |
Gay July-31-21

Being tomorrow is Cheri birthday I went to the Hole-in-One donut shop and got Cheri a breakfast sandwich and a cinnamon roll, yes I also had one. I had a 10:00 am
appointment over in Tampa Bay country this morning to install arms on the side
of a toilet. It was a simple job but the owner couldn’t get down to remove the
toilet seat. When I was done I thought I would check on some friends as long as
I was in Tampa Bay country. I called Bob
Conover but went to his voice mail. Then I called Patty and Jan and they told
me that they had the virus so I wasn’t going there. On the way home I stopped
by Kacey’s to return the lamps I rewired. When I got home Cheri and I changed
and headed to Best Buy in Lakeland to check out new cell phones. We looked at
the Jitterbug phones and found that they would cost more than we are paying now
with T Mobile. But did buy a new apple computer as mine is getting noisy, very
slow, locks up more times. We called Darren after checking them out to see if
we were getting the right one and for a good price. He said that we should buy
it and didn’t have to pay sales tax on the first 1000.00. So our tax we $7.00.
When we got back to Zephyrhills we stopped at T Mobile store which was the
Sprint store before T Mobile took them over. Well our phones aren’t compatible
with the T Mobile network. Cheri’s phone is old and has be wanting a new phone,
well because of the changeover she had to have a new phone. So she got a new
free phone. All they had to do with my phone was change the sim card and no
change in our monthly bill. By the time all was said and done it was around
4:30 pm when we got home. Cheri went right to work fixing us a French bread loaf
bake. We were both tired from the stress of the computer and cell phones. So it
was a short evening of TV. Thank you God for helping us through this day.
