Sharp's Travels

I want to wish our daughter Nikki a happy birthday. Cheri and I headed out at 7:45 am for breakfast at the Sunrise Eatery. It was 63 degrees and damp out and we both needed a jacket, first time since April. When we got home Cheri did some ironing and I did some computer work, Later we called Nikki to wish her a happy birthday and had a nice visit with her. This afternoon I watched the Wisconsin Badger football game which they won. Cheri read while I watched the game. Cheri made potato salad and fixed brats for our supper. This evening we watched Blue Bloods and Dateline. Thank you God for helping us through this day.

I worked outside this morning cleaning up my lumber rack, loaded a lot of scrap lumber into the truck, and removed all the lumber from the sunroom. I always stored all the good lumber in there for projects. Now that I am retired I moved it to the lumber rack outside. Maybe I can use some of it for personal projects. Cheri is happy to have the sunroom back the way it supposed to be. Cheri was busy with laundry and got all of her books ready to sell. I am going to put and add on the parks Facebook page to sell them. She said that she has 97 books. The afternoon was spent in our recliners reading and napping. Around 4:00 pm we turned on the TV watching a movie Cheri had recorded. Cheri made pancakes for our supper. This evening we watched more home renovations shows. We got light rain this evening and into the night. 

We had rain on and off all day and some high wind. I didn’t hear of any damage but I stayed inside all day, so I guess I wouldn’t know anything. I checked the rain gauge and we received 1 inch. I did some computer work this morning getting some of my medical records recorded and a slip of everything to carry in my billfold as I have trouble remembering. Cheri was busy with laundry and she was also working on house paper work. She spent time in her sewing room going through the books she as read, looks like she is going to start a library.

I went over to Donna Perkins this morning rehung a curtain rod, removed the battery tender from her car, took the car through the car wash, and got her three wheeled bike out of the house. She will be back here today from Wisconsin for the winter. When I got home Cheri was busy with her Wednesday housework. I cleaned the bugs off the front of our car and then took it through the car wash. After that it was time to get ready for the noon church service. Pastor Randy’s teaching was from Psalms 54. Mike our next door neighbor picked us up at 3:30 pm and took us to Harry’s for dinner. Something he wanted to do for me taking him for his day surgery. When we got home we settled in to watch some home improvement shows and AFV. Thank you God for time spent with you and fellowship with friends.

I left the house at 6:15 am for my accountability group breakfast and Bible study. We studied the first part of Romans chapter 3. When I got home I sat down with Cheri while she was having breakfast. I think she is pretty much back from the side affects from the virus shot. I went out to do some work and opened the shed door looked around and decided that wasn’t what I wanted to do today. Cheri was busy with her normal Tuesday housework. I did some computer work and that was it for me. I was just lazy the rest of the day not feeling like reading or watching TV. I did do some napping this afternoon. Later we watched a movie. We had another bowl of the potato soup Cheri made for supper. We didn’t have anything left recorded to watch so I got out a move to watch. Thank you God for taking care of us today.

We had rain on and off all day which we needed. Cheri and I are feeling better today, still taking it easy. Cheri made a new recipe of potato soup in the crockpot to have for supper. I took Donna Perkins golf cart back to her place and check her house. Cheri. picked me up so I wouldn’t have walk home. I went over to Kacey’s to check her house and emptied some DampRid’s and refilled them. I also got a call from a party here in our park that was having trouble with the range hood light. I went and checked it out. Told me that the light burned out and installed a new one and it burned out when they turn it on. They did it one more time and it also burned out. I couldn’t find anything wrong and put in a new bulb I had and it work fine. Something was wrong with the new bulbs, strange that two of them would be bad. Cheri and I took it easy the rest of the day, yes there was a nap for both of us. We got a call from friends back in Wisconsin and talked for over an hour with them. The potato soup was good and have enough for a few more meals. It was a normal evening of TV. Thank you God for getting us to feel better today. 

Not a good day, Cheri got up hurting all over, side affects from the shot yesterday. I wasn’t much better but did go to church. I wouldn’t have gone but had to be at Sunday school with Mens Night Out sign up sheet. Pastor Randy’s message was titled “Justified by Faith” from Galatians 3:1-5. Our Sunday school lesson was titled “The Gospel’s Goal” from Colossians 1:24-2:3. Spiritual transformation is the goal of the gospel. I told Cheri I would pick up Domino’s pizza on the way home but was feeling bad when I got out of Sunday school and all I wanted was to be home. We both napped some and tried to read. I did fix a pizza from the freezer for a late lunch and early supper. I watched the Green Bay Packer football game, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers football game, and the NASCAR race. After all of that it was time for bed. Cheri went to bed earlier. We also got a short rain shower this evening that we really need as it is so dry. Thank you God for helping us through this day.

It was a busy day. I left the house at 5:45 am to take John Welsh to the airport in ST Pete. It was 8:00 am when I got back home. I asked Cheri if she want to go out for breakfast and she said yes. We went to Sunrise Eatery. After breakfast we stopped at the pharmacy to pick up Cheri’s medicine. She checked and were doing the third virus shots. So while we were there we got ours with no waiting. When we got home Cheri went to work on making a double batch of cookies. It was a new recipe and a double batch was a lot of cookies, took her a long time to get them all baked. I filled the bird feeder as I forgot the bird seed was in the car trunk that I bought a few days ago. I got Donna Perkins golf cart out and gave it a good cleaning and put the charger on so it will be ready for her next week when she returns from Wisconsin. After I got done with that I rested for a while and then went to Home Depot and found the right breaker for the generator project.So when I got home I installed the breaker and now that project is done. I was done for the day. I took a shower and got cleaned up. I headed to the recliner to read until the Wisconsin Badger football game started. Cheri fixed the leftover Swiss steak for supper. This evening we watch CSI Vegas, Dateline, and Magnum before calling it a night. No nap today as I felt like I was wired, I think maybe the virus shot had something to do with it. Thank you God for a blessed day.  

It was another nice day like yesterday. Cheri was doing laundry and polishing all the wood with a new polish she got the other day. I worked on getting the new gate entry tags on the car and truck. I got a call from Lou Kerwood and wanted me to come over and put the tag on her car. I had a nice visit with her. I worked on the generator hookup to supply power to the house when we loose commercial power. I couldn’t find the right breaker I needed and bought on that I thought would work but it didn’t work. I may have to order the right one off line. I got a call from a couple here in our park that was having trouble with there house entry door so I went over and fixed that for them. Later after I got cleaned up we went to Ollie’s so I could buy a new flannel shirt that Cheri said I needed. She also bought more books to read. Cheri had made Swiss steak in the crockpot to have for supper. After supper we settled in to watch some of our shows which I napped through. Thank you God for helping us through this day keeping us healthy and safe.

It was another nice day in the neighbor hood. Still have low humidity, cool mornings and low 80’s for the day. Mike Tesla and I went out to the church property and had a morning of flying our drones. It has been about six months since we last flew them. Cheri had a dentist appointment this morning and then went shopping. She was also busy with laundry today. This afternoon I was busy with computer work and getting things ready for our next men’s night out for Sunday school. This evening we met John Welsh at Sonny’s BBQ for dinner. We had a nice visit and I will be taking him back to the airport Saturday morning. It was 6:30 pm when we got home. We settled in and watched the Chicago shows before calling it a night. Thank you God for a blessed day. 

Cheri went for her haircut this morning. I went down to the club house to get new gate entry stickers for the car and truck so we will be able to get in the park, They are installing a new entry system. Dick and Linda picked us up at 10:00 am. We headed to Sarasota to visit the Selby Gardens. They are a leader in the conservation and display of air plants. For more information go to selby.org. From there we went to eat at Yoders restaurant, everyone has told us that it is the best place to eat. They also have a bakery, market, and gift shop. As it turned out we thought we would be eating at a different place that is also an Amish restaurant. We found out that it was a few blocks away so we went there to visit there bakery and gift shop. It was 6:00 pm when we got home. We had great time and plan on doing another day trip with Dick and Linda. I will post some pictures from the gardens. HELP!

It was a little warmer this morning a little more to my liking, so nice to have the low humidity. I was out the door at 6:20 am for my accountability group breakfast and Bible study. We studied Romans chapter two. There were ten of us today as some of our Northerner friends are starting to return. Cheri left at 11:00 am for a luncheon with church friends. I had a 12:00 pm dental appointment and didn’t get home until 2:30 pm. It is a new dental office for me as I wasn’t happy with the old one. They took a lot of X-rays and have all the latest equipment. The parts for the house generator connection came today but too late to work on it. Later I went out to buy some new bird seed and get the new breaker for the generator project and a stop at Jersey Mike’s for subs to have for supper. This evening we watched NCIS and then a movie that I napped through. Thank you God for guiding us through this day.

It was cold this morning, 56 degrees, the Lowest it has been since May. Yes, I know I am a wimp and that’s not cold in the north county. It did turn out to be a really nice day with low humidity. I spent some time on the computer getting the parts ordered for our generator to hook to the house for power outages, It has taken me eight years to get this done, the parts should be here in a couple of days. Cheri was busy with her normal Monday housework and making candy to take to the ladies lunch and Bible study tomorrow. She made chili for supper and even got a piece of the candy she made. I worked outside raking up a couple bags of leaves. After getting cleaned up I headed to the recliner to read but ended up taking an hours nap. This evening we tried to watch Seal Team and NCIS La but only got part of it recorded because of football going late. Also watched a couple of home repair shows before calling it a night. Thank you God for helping us through this day.

Our weather has change to dryer air, cooler evenings, and not so hot during the day. We left the house at 9:00 am heading to Dade City for church and Sunday school. Pastor Randy’s message was titled “Liberated by Grace! Part 2” from Galatians 2:17-21. Our Sunday school class was titled “The Gospel’s Power” from Colossians 1:9-23. The power of the gospel frees us from sin and Satan’s control. We hung around after Sunday school visiting. I was around 1:30 pm when we got home. We got a pizza out of the freezer and into the oven, We had that while watching 48 Hours. After that was over I settled in to watch the Green Bay Packers football game which they won over the Chicago Bears while Cheri read. After the football game it was time to watch the NASCAR Race. Cheri continued reading along with a nap. Later we watched the new CSI Vegas and Dateline. I left the house at 9:30 pm heading to St Pete airport to pick up John Walsh at 11:00 pm. He is down for a week from Maine and he and his wife have winter home near Dade City. It was around 12:30 am when I finally got home. A 110 miles round trip. Thank you God for a blessed Day spending time with you and church friends. 

Not much going on today. I am still having a lot of pain in my back and is keeping from doing much of anything. I did get the bird feeder back in place as I had to move it when they trimmed the tree. I cleaned up the feeder and found that the bird feed I had isn’t any good. So I need to make a trip for that but didn’t feel like it today. I went over to see Mike and he is doing good. I also started the generator and let it run for a while. Cheri took the day off except for cooking and taking care of me which is a full time job. This afternoon I took a shower and then to the recliner for reading and napping. We got a phone call from Nikki and had a nice visit with her. This evening we watched a couple of shows and then I settled in to watch the Wisconsin Badgers football game. We went to bed at halftime and I watched the rest of the game, it was after 11:00 pm before the game was over. Thank you God for a blessed day.

As I posted yesterday I spent the morning watching the rest of the Bucks game. I had nothing planed for the day. Cheri was busy with laundry, ironing, and dusting. I did a little computer work and played lazy the rest of the day. We had a dinner date this evening as we met Bill and Adianna McCafferty (church friends) at Plaza Mexico for dinner. After dinner they came over to our house to check it out and had a nice visit. After they left we settled for a short evening of TV. Thank you God for a relaxing day and time spent with friends.

Yes, I know I am late with the Blog. I was too tired to watch all of the Bucks game last night and wanted to watch it this morning before seeing the score on TV. Now for the 14 th blog. I left the house at 5:10 am to take Dennis and Sue to the Tampa airport. It was a little after 7:00 am when I got home. I decided take Cheri out for breakfast at Sunrise Eatery. Wen we got home we spent time with our prayers and Bible study. I spent the rest of the morning on the computer and doing paper work. Cheri was busy with laundry and other house work. I was too tired and lazy to do any work this afternoon. Our neighbor Mike came over for a visit. He brought cake for taking him to the Hospital. The rest of the afternoon was spent reading, napping, and watching TV. We didn’t have any lunch because of the big breakfast. Cheri fixed us the last of the lasagna  for supper. Thank you God for a blessed day and safe travels.

I was up at 2:45 am getting ready to leave at 4:20 am taking our neighbor Mike to the hospital in Tampa for surgery. I stayed and waited for him and was back home by noon. After lunch I went and picked up my medicine and a stop at the dentist office to pick up paper work that I need to fill out as I will be a new patient at this dentist. Cheri was busy with her Wednesday house work. The rest of the day was spent in our recliners napping, reading, and watching TV. Cheri fixed us the leftover lasagna for supper. This evening we watched Dateline and two of the FBI shows. Thank you God for taking care of us and safe travels today. 

It was an interesting day. It started with my accountability group breakfast and Bible study. We finished up Ronans chapter 2. One of the people from our Sunday school class bought a new chair for Charlie our Sunday school teacher and asked me to put it together. So I brought it home with me. Late mooning the tree trimers came and trimmed the tree in our back yard. The tree belongs to the people behind us so could only trim what was on our side of the fence. After that was done I worked on cleaning the car and truck windows. It was something that needed to be done as it was hard to see driving at night. After lunch I worked on putting chair together, which took longer than I thought it would. Cheri was busy with her normal Tuesday housework. When I got done with my work I headed for a shower to get cleaned up. Dennis and Sue picked us up at 4:00 pm to go to Culver’s for supper, had a nice visit with them. When we got home we settle in for an evening of TV. Thank you God for guiding us through this day.

I got up this morning with a lot of back pain. The pain had been down my left leg which has gotten better but now it is down my right leg. So I didn’t do much today. I did get the watering hooked up for the new Mum plants, sprayed in the house, and moved flower pots from the back yard. The tree trimmer is coming tomorrow and needed to get things out of the way for them to work. The rest of my day was spent in the recliner. Cheri went grocery shopping and made lasagna for supper with garlic toast. She also did her normal Monday house work. This evening I was going out for security with Dennis but stopped by and said that we didn’t have to go this evening, I was happy about that as I really didn’t feel like going. We missed some of our new fall shows has CBS has removed their channel from Dish. When I realized it had been removed I was able to record and watch from the antenna.  Thank you god for a blessed day.

It was hot in Sunday school as the air conditioner quit working. It was a little after 1:00 pm when we got home. Cheri fixed us pizza for a late lunch while we watched a couple shows. After that it was time for me to settle in to watch the Green Bay Packers football game which turned out to be a nail bitter. I also watched the Tampa Bay Buccaneers football game. Cheri read and napped while I was watching the games. After the games I went to the bedroom to watch the NASCAR race while Cheri watched a movie. After the race we watched the Alaskan Bush People. Thank you God for a blessed day to spend with you and church friends.  

Cheri was busy this morning with ironing and dusting. I went to Donna Perkins and got the water turned on and things ready for her return for the winter. Cheri fixed us a hotdog for lunch. Our afternoon was spent reading and napping. We left at 3:30 pm heading to Lakeland to have dinner at Harry’s. After dinner we stopped at Home Depot and brought some mums to put out in front of the house. It was 6:00 pm when we got home. I settled in to watch the Wisconsin Badger football game I had recorded while Cheri read. Then watched Blue Bloods before calling it a night. Thank you God for a blessed day.

I forgot to mention yesterday when we were at Wal-Mart. They have change the whole store around and hard to find what you are looking for. Also there is no deli meats. Today Cheri was busy with laundry and making me a batch of chocolate chip cookies. I did some work in my shop work area. I took all the scrap metal to the recycle plant. I was able to set out a couple of garbage bags of scrap lumber for garbage pick up. I still have a lot more to do but only doing a little bit at a time. I got cleaned up and then to the recliner for reading and napping this afternoon. Cheri joined me when she got her work done. We had more rain this afternoon, just a nice gentle rain. Cheri fixed us a Philly cheese steak sandwich for supper. This evening we watched Bull, Life Below Zero, and two epasold’s of Law and Order SVU before calling it a night. Thank you God for helping us through this day.

 We got the laundry started and headed out for breakfast at the Breakfast Station. It has been a long time since we have been there. Now I remember why as it wasn’t that good. We split a breakfast bowl and didn’t have any flavor. After breakfast we went to Wal-Mart for groceries and a few other things we needed. Prices have really increased, we looked at a couple of ribeye steaks and want $29 plus change, so no steak for us. We skipped lunch because of the breakfast. Cheri worked on the laundry and I went to Kacey’s to fix the closet door and readjust the security lights. When I got home I took my shower and relaxed in the recliner reading and napping along with Cheri. Cheri had a long phone visit with her sister Sandy. Cheri fixed us a hamburger and chips for supper. We had a nice rain this evening and received 1/2 inch. We watched the Chicago shows this evening along with a dish of ice cream for me. Thank you God for a blessed day.

After breakfast we went to his place and I finished the generator install. I showed him the procedure for using the generator and then back to regular power. When I got home Cheri was busy with her normal Wednesday housework. I got cleaned up to go for the noon church service. After church we went over to the Sunday school building and Cheri helped me install a couple of window shades. On the way home we stopped at Jersey Mike’s for sub sandwiches. Also stopped at Chick-fil-A for a couple of peach shakes. When we got home we had half of the subs for a late lunch and the other half for supper along with the peach shakes. The rest of the afternoon was spent reading, napping, and watching TV. Thank you God for time spent with you today and keeping us healthy and safe.

I left the house at 6:15 am for my accountability group breakfast and Bible study. There were six of us this morning. Our Bible study was from Romans 1:1-17. After Bible study I went over to Bill McCafferty’s (he is in our Bible study group) to start on a generator install for his house. I ran into a problem this afternoon and needed to go home and figure it out. I also went over to Pam and Mike’s to tighten up their kitchen faucet which was leaking around the base. When I got home I headed for the shower to get cleaned up, then to the recliner. Cheri was house sitting for Mike while he was at an eye appointment. He had a package coming that needed a signature for. Cheri was busy with her Tuesday house work. She made a breakfast sandwich and orange juice for supper. At 7:30 pm I went out for security with Dennis. When I got home we headed to bed and watched some TV there. Thank you God for time spent with the mens group and guiding us through this day keeping us healthy and safe.

I left the house at 8:30 am to work on Kacey’s liana roof that has a small leak. I wanted to be on the roof before it got hot. I found a few spots that could have been where it is leaking. I also got the dirt up around the air vent so there won’t be any water running under the house from rain. I thought I was done working at Kacey’s but found a closet door that needs some work as it doesn’t close. After lunch I went to the pharmacy to pick up my meds and didn’t have my wallet with me so I had to go back home and get it. I also made stop at Lowes to pick up materials for a project tomorrow. When I got home I got cleaned up and settled in to watch the NASCAR race that was canceled from yesterday because of rain. They did get a little over half of the race in before rain came again. They finally called it a competed race. Cheri was busy with her Monday’s house work and changed some decorations for Halloween. Cheri made a hobo meal in the crockpot to have for supper. Later we had a bowl of ice cream while watching some TV. Thank you God for a blessed day.

Cheri was up early this morning baking a cake for Sunday school. We left for church at 9:00 am. Pastor Randy’s message was titled “Grace Defended” from Galatians 2:1-10. Our Sunday school lesson was titled “Joy Through Peace” from Philippians 4:1-9. Believers find joyous peace through Christ even in the midst of turmoil. On the way home we stopped to check Larry and Denise’s house. This afternoon we settled in for TV, Cheri watching a Hallmark movie and me going to the bedroom to watch the NASCAR race. The race was in a rain delay and ended up having to run it tomorrow afternoon. When I came out by Cheri she was into another Hallmark movie. We had a pizza from the freezer for supper. After supper I went back to the bedroom to watch the Green Bay Packers football game which they won. I had about an hour before the Tampa Bay Bucks game. I could only stay awake for half of the game. I will watch the rest of the game tomorrow before checking any news, nice to watch without knowing how it going to end. Thank you God for a blessed day spending tine with you and church friends. 

Cheri was busy baking cookies to take for Sunday school snack and coffee before the class starts. I cleaned out the truck and repacked some of my tools. I also made a trip to Lowe’s to pick up some black Jack for Kacey’s liana roof as there is a small leak. Plus some top soil to put around the air vent so the water will run away form it. This afternoon Cheri was reading and napping while I watched the Wisconsin Badgers get beat, they don’t have a very good team this year as they have only won one game. After the game we watched a couple of shows that I napped through. We had the last of our leftovers for supper. This evening we watched Dateline and Magnum before calling it a night. Thank you God for being with us and guiding us today.

Another month gone and one day closer to Jesus coming back for us. Cheri and I went out for breakfast at First Watch over in Wesley Chapel. I hadn’t been there before and it was a pretty good breakfast. The reason we went there was it was close to Sam’s Club. There were several things we need there and also filled the car with gas, ten cents cheaper there. It was 11:30 am when we got home. No lunch today because of the big breakfast. I went over to Kacey’s to work. I got the material out of her shed to reroute the down spout from the rain gutter. Well I bought the wrong size down spout and had to return it to Lowes and they were out of what I needed. So I headed out to Home Depot and got the materials there. Long story short the down spout project is done. It was after 4:00 pm when I got home. After a shower and getting cleaned up I headed to the recliner where Cheri was already reading. She had been doing laundry and other house work. I took a nap before Cheri fixed us leftovers for supper. I am about done with the TV shows, tired of seeing all the gay crap that they are pushing unto us. Thank you God for a blessed day.

Cheri was busy with laundry and ironing this morning. I went over to Kacey’s to finish the vent housing. It needs to be painted but that is something I don’t due. I need to do some landscaping around the base and then reroute the rain gutter downspout. It was around 1:00 pm when I got done. I cleaned up before having lunch. We were going to go Sam’s Club this afternoon but didn’t think we had enough time as we had to be ready at 4:00 pm to pick up Dennis and Sue for supper. We took a scenic drive out through the country side and ended up at Papa Joe’s near Brockville for supper. We has a good time with a lot of laughs. The food was very pricey and not has good as it should have been. When we got home we settled in to watch some more of the new fall shows. Thank you God for this day and time spent with friends.
