Cool and windy this morning and was jacket weather. We heard an excellent sermon in church this morning. After church Nikki and Cece came over for a brunch of pancakes. Then I headed over to the Hot Rod Car show here in the fairgrounds. There must have been between 4 and 5 hundred cars. I felt like I was in heaven. I drooled over a lot of them and wanted to have them for myself. I did take a lot of pictures and have uploaded them. There was also a large flea market here today that Cheri, Nikki and Cece went to. After we all got back to the 5th wheel we played a game of dominos that Cheri and Cece won. Last night Cheri started drawing and painting an owl on a large piece of cardboard and finished it this afternoon. It was something Nikki wanted for her preschool class. Then we went over to Nikki and Coz’s to have a Papa Murphy’s pizza for supper. Then we headed for home to I could watch the NASCAR Race. Will it was in a rain delay and when I went to bed it was still in a rain delay. Well we had another rain storm come through around 3:00 am, lots of thunder and lighting, but no wind. It was over by 6:30 am, we were supposed to get more during the day but it held off until around 8:00 pm. So for the most part it didn’t hurt the hot rod show. Coz and Nikki arrived around 9:00 am and Cheri fixed breakfast for all of us. After breakfast we visited and watched the hot rods come into the fairgrounds. I had planned on going to the hot rod show today but with rain threatened I decided to wait until tomorrow. So later we went over to Coz and Nikki’s to play some Hand and Foot. We played two games before we went to Beaver Dam to have Chinese for supper. On the way home we stopped by Marty and Anna’s (Coz’s sister) place. They got a new home last year and we hadn’t had a chance to see it before. What a beautiful home. After we got back to Coz and Nikki’s we finished playing the third game of Hand and Foot that we had started before supper. Cheri and Nikki had won the first two and Coz and I finally ended our losing streak by winning the last game. Coz has to work tomorrow so we headed home for the night.

We had a bad rain storm come through this morning with a lot of wind. It really blew things around, the tents that were set up where all blown down. When we looked out the rain was coming sideways because of the strong wind. The strong wind lasted about half and hour and the rain lasted about hour and a half. We had quite the show today watching more people coming in for the Hot Rod show that is going to be Saturday and Sunday. We saw everything from little tents to big class a motor homes with big trailers on the back. One of the trailers had two big Harleys and a Corvette in it. It threatens rain all day but only got a few sprinkle during the afternoon. Other then the excitement around us it was a pretty quiet day for us. Cheri did a couple of loads of laundry and I got caught up on my computer work. Coz and Nikki dropped of Cece about 5:30 pm; she is going to spend the night with us. After supper we walked over to DQ to have an ice cream treat. When we got back home I watched the truck race on TV and Cheri and Cece play games. We are supposed to get more rain tonight, glad that I am not one of them sleeping in a tent. We have been there and done that, takes forever to get things dried out. It should be an interesting day tomorrow.

I don’t know where the month of August went; it just flew by for us. In two months our travels will be over for the year. Today we took the motorcycle and rode up to Oshkosh to see friends Tom and Chris. Many moons ago, Tom and his first wife took motorcycle vacations with us. So today Tom and I reminisced about the old days and all the good times we had together. Come to think about it that seems to be what we old people do anymore. We visited for a while and then went out for lunch. After lunch Tom took us over to Chris’s place. Cheri and Chris sat by the pool and dangled their feet in the water. Tom and I sat on the deck visiting. Not sure where the afternoon went to, has it was 5:30 pm and time to head for home. It was a great day to spend with friends. This evening we watched the Packers play their last preseason game. It was exciting and frustrating at times, but they did win. I think they still have a ways to go in order to be as good as they were last year. We had a few campers come in today getting ready for the hot rod show here in the fairgrounds this weekend. I am excited and looking forward to seeing all the cars. We happened to be here back in 2007 and got to see the cars, there must have been at least 300 cars then.

We did a morning walk which we haven’t done in a long time. We really need to get back in the habit of walking. Actually my foot survived the walk, although we didn’t do a very long walk. We did stop at a garage sale on the way and checked out another one that wasn’t open. When we got back to the 5th wheel we got ready to go for a motorcycle ride. Our first stop was to take a picture of a tree that has changed color for fall. It is still early for trees to change color but it is a warning for us that it is time to head south (9 more days and we start south). Then we headed out to Theresa to get some fresh cheese curds. I know that some of you people don’t know what cheese curds are. Curds are the cheese just before it goes into the container and then put under presser to get all the whey out of it. Well when we got to the cheese factory the curds weren’t ready. So we took a walk around the park and took some pictures and then walked down town, short main street only 2 blocks long. We stopped in a candy store that also served sandwiches. We ordered a flat bread Tucson which was very good and also a bowl of clam chowder that was not good at all. Then we walked back to the cheese factory and got our curd along with some cheese spread and smoked cheese. Then we took the back roads over to Plymouth to a quilt store that I hadn’t told Cheri about. So she was surprised when we stopped at it. She did find some things to buy which I also approved of. Then it was time to head for home. It was enjoyable 85 mile motorcycle ride. This is the one I had planned on doing yesterday. Nikki picked us up at 5:30 pm to go to Pipe and have half price pizza at Capones Bar and Grill. We were there last Wednesday also. Like I have said before they have the best pizza around and when you can get it for half price you can’t pass it up. I also saw another sign of fall on our way to Capones, two large flocks of Canadian geese. It is pretty early to be seeing them here; usually we don’t see them until them until the end of September, another reason to start south. I have uploaded pictures of the day that Cheri and I took.
