Gay Mar-6-10

I checked in on Ken this morning. Eileen had given Ken a sponge bath and needed help to put his arm back in the sling. I also helped get his leg brace and shoes on. On the way back to the 5th wheel I drop off their garbage at the dumpster. We met Burl & Dorothy at Grandma’s at 9:30 am. I drove Burl & Dorothy’s car and the five of us went down to the power plant by Tampa to see the Manatees. Because the weather is still cold there were a lot of them near the power plant discharge. Burl & Dorothy and Cheri made a trip through the museum while I waited outside in the sun with Grandma. Then Dorothy and Cheri had to stop in the gift shop. From there we headed to the Roaring 20’s for pizza. It is the home of the Mighty Wurlitzer Pipe Organ. The organ is powered by a 20 horse power Spencer Blower which supplies air for the 2,456 organ pipes and percussions. The largest pipe is 16 feet long and 14 inches in diameter. The smallest is the size of a pencil. The organ with all its pipes is an assume view and great to hear Dwight Thomas play it. We left there around 2:30 pm and headed for Plant City by way of a different route and stopped to have strawberry shortcake for supper. Then we headed for home arriving around 6:00 pm. We dropped Grandma off at home. Dorothy dropped Cheri off and went back to the motel. Burl and I headed to Dade City to see the classic cars at the cruise in. A lot of the cars had already left, but still got to see around 50 or so. I dropped Burl off at the motel and got home around 8:00 pm. It was a long day for all of us but also was a fun day with a lot of sunshine and a high temp near 70 degrees.
