I had an appointment for my foot with the doctor at 8:45 am. My foot hadn’t improved any in the last week so he gave me another shot of cortisone and a pad in my shoe. He said I should stay off of it and put ice on it. Well when I got home I decided to put up the Christmas lights. I just got the Christmas reef up when Bud pulled up on the motorcycle and wanted to know if I wanted to go for a ride. Now I had to make a decision go for a motorcycle ride or put up Christmas lights. Well the doctor did say I shouldn’t be walking so I went for the motorcycle ride. We also had Gary Hilborn ride with us. He just got here this week from Michigan. We did an 81 mile ride over to New Port Richey and stopped at the Harley dealer. I managed to get away without buying anything. It turned out to be a great day for a ride. We got home a little after 3:00 pm. Gary liked the way Bud and I had our GPS mounted on the bike and wanted the information on how and where to order the mount and power hookup. So I stopped by his place and showed him on the computer where to buy everything including the GPS. Cheri wasn’t home so I went back to work on the Christmas lights. About 20 minutes later Cheri got home from shopping. After I finished with the lights we had a quick supper and went for our evening walk which took about an hour and half as we stopped along the way to talk to different people. We weren’t home very long when Larry and Denise stopped over for a visit and to see if I wanted to order anything for the motorcycle. So I had him order me a case of oil and three filters. By the time they left it was time to call it a night. What a great day to spend with friends.

We were up at 4:00 am and on the road by 5:00 am to take Darren to the airport to catch his flight at 7:00 am. We hated to see him go as it was great having him here for a few days. We got back home at 6:30 am and then eat breakfast, showered and got ready for church. We had planned on getting up earlier and have breakfast out and then go to church. But we figured it would be better to just drop Darren off and come back home as we would have plenty of time, it work out great. We walked over to Grandma’s to wait for Ed and Lorraine to pick us up for church. After we got back from church Ed and Lorraine gave us the tour of their new Jacobsen home. It is very nice and they are excited about getting it set up so they can move in. We planned on watching the Packers play today and when I turned on the TV I didn’t have my west coast channels. I called Direct TV and found that they had disconnected them. I guess they had a lot of people that was getting the RV package that wasn’t suppose to have it any longer and disconnected them. Well for some reason we were one of them that got disconnected. They did some checking and found that we were supposed to have them. They reconnected us and we got the channels back about two minutes before the game started. It was a very good game and too bad that the Packers lost all because of a couple of mistakes. We did our evening walk before it got dark as it has been a while since we walked in the day light. Our evening ended early because we were both tired from being up early this morning.

This morning we went to Golden Corral for breakfast, it is the best and you can have anything you want for one low price. After breakfast we took a ride over to the airport to watch the sky divers. There was a high fog and they weren’t able to do any sky diving until all the fog lifted. We went back home to see what else we might do and Bud was just leaving our place and wanted to show me that he received the GPS mount for his motorcycle. He said he was going home to do the wiring to power up the GPS. After Bud left we decided to go bowling as it had been a couple of years since we have done any bowling. From the looks of the scores we had we should have stayed home. On the way home we stopped by Bud’s to see how he was doing on getting wiring done for the GPS. I gave him a better idea on how to tap into the wiring harness for the power. I ended up staying and helping him get the wiring done. While I was helping Bud Cheri and Darren went up to see Grandma. When I got done with Bud I headed up to Grandmas and they were playing cards, so I joined in the game. Later we all went over to our place to watch the Wisconsin Badgers win their football game. I gilled up a bunch of brats for supper. It was another great day to be with family.

I did something that I said I would never do and that was going shopping on Black Friday. We have been thinking about getting new cell phone as we have had ours for three years. I wanted Darren to be with us when we did make the change because he is up on that kind of stuff. We ended up getting new phones with the same calling plan we already have. We aren’t into the texting and don’t need to have instant e-mail or internet. After it was all said and done the upgrade to new phones and air card for the computer didn’t cost us anything, in fact we will be getting a 10% discount on our bill because we are members of a credit union. Then we went to Best Buy to get the 2nd and 3rd seasons of Dexter for only $15 each, regular $34. Then we went across the street to Home Depot to get the wrench that is supposed to take the place of 48 other wrenches. Well that didn’t work out as they were all sold out. So we headed back toward Zephyrhills and stopped at the Home Depot there and they had three of the wrenches left after I got mine and before I walked away the rest were taken. Then we dropped Cheri off at Wal-Mart so she could pick up a few groceries and Grandma’s medicine. Darren and I went and filled up the van with gas and a quick stop at Lowe’s to pick up some four watt light bulbs for a project I am trying to do, putting lights in the wine bottles that Cheri used in her craft project. We thought that they would look nice if we could have lights in them. I am not sure how it will come out, say tuned and I will let you know. Cheri called just as we were pulling into Wal-Mart to pick her up, great timing. When we got home and the van unloaded we went over to Grandma’s to play cards. Then Grandma came over to our place for supper. I grilled up some chicken and Cheri made a potato salad along with leftover grape salad from yesterday’s potluck. Grandma left at 6:30 pm to play cards down at the Rec Hall and we settled in to watch some of the second season of Dexter that we bought today.

I hope everyone had a very happy Thanksgiving. Ours was extra special because our son Darren is here with us. This morning Darren and I made a trip to Harbor Freight because I had a 25 percent off coupon which I used to buy an Oscillating Multifunction power tool. When we got back Darren started working on our new web page and spent most of the day getting it done. He has been working on it the last couple of weeks. So it is now up and on line and I still have a few things to do and I am sure there will be some more changes as we go forward. I want to thank Darren for all of his hard work setting it up. If anyone is interested in having a web page and want help just send Darren an e-mail darren@darrensharp.com . Grandma came over around 11:00 am and she and Cheri took our plates down to the Rec Hall for the Thanksgiving dinner at 1:00 pm. We also got phone calls from our daughters and granddaughter wishing us a happy Thanksgiving. After we got home from the Rec Hall Darren finished working on the web page and then we played cards with Grandma. Then at 6:30 pm we headed back down to the Rec Hall for a turkey sandwich and some dessert. It was after 7:00 pm when we got home and settled in for an evening of football. This day we are very thankful to have some of our family together and phone calls from the rest and thankful every day for having God in our lives.

I walked this morning with Cheri, it is the first time I have walked in a week. It sure felt good to be walking again. My foot is much better but I still have a ways to go, at least most of the burning sensation is gone. We needed groceries today and we knew things would be busy so after we got our walk done we headed over to Wal-Mart to get our shopping done. We were surprised how many people were there. Cheri did her weekly cleaning and I had some computer work that had to be done. Cheri had been looking through some of Denise’s quilting books that she has collected and found several things that I had to copy for her. Darren is flying in to spend Thanksgiving with us, how great is that? His plane arrives at 6:05 pm. We left for the airport at 3:15 pm to get ahead of the rush hour traffic; I don’t think we quite made it because I 275 was very busy. We each took a book along read while we waited in the cell phone lot. It is very nice with restrooms and there are two large boards showing the arrival times of the incoming flights. Instead of waiting for Darren to call us and have us pick him up at the pickup spot we drove to the short term parking and went inside to wait for him as we planned to eat TGF in the airport, that way all the rush hour traffic would be over with. We had a good trip back home and stopped to see Grandma for a little while before heading home. It is nice to have Darren here with us.

Today was a play day for me and Cheri. Bud, Larry and I left at 8:00 am for a motorcycle ride to Daytona Harley Davidson. It has the largest selection on new and used motorcycles in the world, it is a huge complex. Larry got the part numbers he wanted in order to get the painted parts for his new 2011 Ultra Limited Harley. Bud bought a new baseball cap. I didn’t buy anything there. Then we walk across the street to the Harley outlet store, we didn’t find anything that we couldn’t live without. Then we walked over to J&P Cycles. It is the World’s largest aftermarket motorcycle parts and accessories store. I have been looking for a rain suit and found what I was looking for without breaking the bank. So I was happy about getting that. After a quick late lunch at Burger King and filling the bikes with gas we were back on the road at 2:15 pm heading for home. We took a short break on the way back and ended up at home at 5:15 pm. It was a ride of 257 miles and a great day for it. Cheri and Denise went shopping and hit the quilt stores in the surrounding area as Denise is just starting to get into the quilting. So Cheri loved showing her the stores and shops. Denise did buy some patterns and kits to get started. This evening was our Life Group meeting and as always it was a great time. It was our last study session and we will have a potluck evening meal in a couple of weeks. This is a picture of the visitor we had by our window yesterday morning.

I had a doctor’s appointment at 8:30 am for my foot. It is much better than it was last week. I still have a ways to go. I got some shoe inserts that is supposed to help. I was back home by 9:00 am. Ed and Lorraine picked us up at 10:00 am to go over to Jacobsen Homes in Safety Harbor for a factory tour. It is about an hour and half drive west of Zephyrhills. They manufacture modular and mobile homes. This is where Ed and Lorraine’s new park model will be made. So Ed wanted to take a tour of the factory and he asked Cheri and me if we would be interested in going. We are always up for any type of factory tours. It was very interesting and we also went through all the display homes. We had a good time and then we stopped at Bob Evans for lunch on the way home. It was after 4:00 pm by the time we got home. Cheri and I walked down to see Larry and Denise to see if Larry was going to go for a motorcycle ride with Bud and me tomorrow. He said he was going and Cheri and Denise made plans for tomorrow. When I got home I took the motorcycle out and filled it up with gas so I would be ready to leave at 8:00 am in the morning. Of course it being Monday we had to watch Dancing with the Stars. We thought that they all did a very good job of dancing. It was a great day to spend with friends. I have uploaded pictures of the factory tour. This Sunday was pretty much the same as last Sunday. Ed and Lorraine picked us up along with Grandma to go to church. After church Grandma came over to watch the Packers play as she could get the game. We enjoyed watching them beat the Vikings. Then Bud stopped over with his motorcycle and had problems with the new mirrors. He couldn’t get them adjusted high enough to see behind. We did some readjusting on the brake reservoir which took care of the problem. Then he took a short ride and was back saying everything was good. I spent the rest of the afternoon watching the last NASCAR Race for the season. It was a very interesting race, a lot of different things happened all through the race that could of made a big difference in the way it ended.

I went right to work this morning putting the new mirrors on the motorcycle. I had to modify the chrome cover on the master cylinder to make the right hand mirror fit. Once again the Dremel tool came to the rescue. After I got done I took Bud’s mirrors down to him. He was in the middle of putting up Christmas lights around the front of the Rec hall and main entrance, he said that he got volunteered to help. I told Cheri we needed to go for a motorcycle ride so I could see how the new mirrors worked. So we did a 60 mile ride and stopped at a new place called On Q for lunch. Cheri had read about it in the paper and wanted to try it. Cheri had a pulled pork platter and I had the rib platter, it was very good. We eat outside on an open air patio. What made it even better was that the TV was on and we could watch the Wisconsin Badgers play. We got home around 1:30 pm. I turned on the TV and watched the rest of the Badger game. It was another big win for them. Then we walked over to Grandma’s to see if she was going to church with us and she wasn’t home so we went on down to Ed and Lorraine’s to see if they would drive to church because we figured Grandma would want to go to church in the park. Ed said they would drive and pick us up. While we were visiting we saw Grandma go home so we stopped to see her and she said she was going to church with us. Cheri got a call that her quilts were done and she would be home at 7:00 pm. So at 6:45 pm we headed out to pick them up. They came out very nice. As soon as Cheri gets the binding on them I will post pictures of them. It was another great day in the neighborhood.

Not much going on today. Cheri did her cleaning and laundry, she also cleaned out the refrigerator and freezer. I restrung two day night shades and did some internet searching for Bud to find the motorcycle mount like the one I have. Then I took the information down to him and he showed me the new GPS he bought. It is very nice and a better one than I had priced for him. Then it was back to our place to see if it would fit in the mount that I have. We will have to do a little modification for the power cord. So he was going to order the parts this afternoon. I checked over the truck to see what it’s going to take to install the Banks power pack for more horse power and it going to be a bigger job than I thought. Not sure if I want to tackle it before Thanksgiving. Darren is coming next week for Thanksgiving and I don’t want to be in the middle of that project. This evening we went to see the movie Morning Glory. It was a cute movie and we enjoyed it. We would recommend it as a good movie to see. While we were at the movie my new mirrors for the motorcycle came so tomorrow I will get them installed. Weather wise it was a very nice day with a high of 77 degrees and no humidity.

Cheri has been doing her morning walk and it doesn’t feel right that I can’t go. Although my foot is feeling some better. Maybe I can get back to walking next week. I our neighbors came in yesterday from Wisconsin so we went over to visit for a while and welcome them back for the winter. I worked on the front cap of the 5th wheel doing some waxing and it didn’t come out very well. I had some wax with a cleaner in it and I guess I didn’t use enough elbow grease. I think I tried to do too big of an area at a time. Well it got too hot and so I quit and will work on it tomorrow. Bud stopped by and decided he wants a GPS for his motorcycle and the mount like I have on ours. So I did some checking and found the GPS at Radio Shack for $115.00 a great price for the Garmin 255WT. So he was going over to pick it up. I don’t remember where I got the mount and will have to do some internet searching to find it. I had to pick up my prescription from my primary doctor and take it over to the doctor where I got the hearing test so it can be paid for by Medicare. We took the motorcycle and also made a stop at Penney’s to return the sample of blinds that we were thinking about getting for the 5th wheel to replace the day/night shades. It was going to be over $1000.00 and decided I can restring a lot of shades for $1000.00. Just as we were leaving the park Cheri heard someone yell for us. I saw a motor home setting in front of the office. It was our friends from Ontario that we did some motorcycle riding with last winter. They are going to be here for a month and then will move to Orlando for a couple of weeks and then they are going to Texas for the rest of the winter. This evening we were invited over to Dean and Betty’s to play dominos. I also fixed their answering machine. Dean said it only worked once and now it won’t answer any calls. After doing some checking it turned out to be the telephone that was the problem. It was funny because the phone worked Ok but when it was plugged into the answering machine the answering machine wouldn’t answer the calls. They had two other phones and we plug one of them into the answering machine and everything worked like it was suppose to. It was another great day in the neighborhood.

Cheri and I were up very early this morning, Cheri with a headache and me just up early. I had an appointment over in Wesley chapel for a hearing test at 9:15 am. Being we were both up early we decided to go out for breakfast. There is a new restaurant in town and decided we should check it out. It was pretty good. We left early for my appointment as the traffic can be pretty bad, turned out the traffic was very light and arrived a half hour early. We each had a book along to read while we waited. The hearing tests showed that I was boarder line for average speech and all the high frequencies are gone. Now I have to wait for the VA appointment. Cheri wanted to do some Christmas shopping at Wiregrass Shops. We spent the rest of the day shopping and I did get a chance to go to Home Depot and Lowe’s, so that made my day. I am not much of a shopper as I know what I want and go after it and then I am ready to go home, but today I enjoyed shopping with Cheri.

Cheri did her morning walk and I of course didn’t go, I really miss not doing it. Hopefully next week I can get back to walking. The foot felt a little better today. Cheri went over to Grandma’s and took her to do some errands and to Wal-Mart to get some groceries, Cheri also picked up some things we needed. I on the other hand got to play today, Bud and I left at 9:30 am under very cloudy conditions for a 160 mile motorcycle ride. We headed northeast to Leesburg Harley to take back the mirrors I bought there. I returned them because I found them on line for $30.00 less and that included shipping. It is getting harder for Bud and I to find roads that we haven’t been on before, but we ventured farther north and picked up a road that we hadn’t rode on before. By the time we left Leesburg the sun finally broke through the clouds, making it a very nice ride. The hood I made for the GPS worked out and now it is much easier to read although it’s not like being in the car with it. We stopped for lunch at a Subway shop, thought it was time for a change from our burger joints we have been stopping at. We got home around 2:30 pm. This evening was our Life Group meeting and Cheri made a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting to take for dessert. It was another great night learning all the amazing things God can do for us. When we got home we watched the Dancing with the Stars results show, another big disappointment. It’s not how good you dance; it’s how popular a person is.

GPS Mount

GPS Mount

No morning walk as I had a doctor’s appointment at 8:00 am. I am having a problem with my foot with a burning sensation from the ball of my foot up through the toes when I walk. I got to the doctor’s office at 7:45 am to turn in the paper work I filled out because I was a new patient. Then it was almost 9:00 am before I got to see the doctor. The problem turned out to be I have a bunion coming on the side of my big toe and it making the toe turn in on the other toes and the pressure is causing the pain. He gave me a shot between the toes and a wedge to put between the big toe and the one next to it, also a pad behind the ball of the foot. I have to go back next Monday and no morning or evening walks. On the way home I stopped and filled up the van with gas. When I got home Cheri was washing windows and so I did the ones on the outside. Then I did some cleaning on the motorcycle. I had wanted to make some kind of hood to put over the GPS on the motorcycle to shade it from the sun; it’s hard to see when the sun is shining. So I made a trip over to Radio Shack and bought a project box and then went to Lowe’s to get some stainless steel fasteners to hold it on the GPS mount. I cut out the side of the box and mounted it to the GPS mount. I thought it came out pretty good. It will get the test it tomorrow as Bud and I are heading out for a ride. Cheri got a call from the quilter and said her quilts will be done by the end of the week; she is excited to see how they come out. I gilled up some hamburgers and pork chops on the grill for supper. We also had fresh corn on the cob. We settled in for an evening of TV, watching Dancing with the Stars. Everyone did a great job of dancing, going to be interesting to see who gets voted off tomorrow night.

We didn’t get a chance to walk this morning as we went to early church. We picked up Grandma, Ed and Loraine at 9:15 am and headed for church. On the way home from church we made a stop at the road side stand and got some corn on the cob, watermelon, lettuce, cauliflower, broccoli and cucumbers. That should take care of us for a few days. Ed and Loraine had never stopped here before and they also bought a few things. When we got home I ordered pizza from Papa John’s. I forgot to have it delivered so I left to go and get it and I saw Bud out cleaning his motorcycle, so I stopped and now have a motorcycle ride set up for Tuesday. The timing was right for picking up the pizza as it was just coming out of the oven when I got there. Because we have been trying to drop a few pounds it has been a couple of months since we have had pizza, sure did taste good. We also had the rest of the pizza for supper. I finished up getting the stakes done for Cheri’s craft project and set them out in the lawn. Then it was time to watch the NASCAR Race. I have up loaded pictures of Cheri’s craft project along with pictures of the visitors we had the other day. After I got my Saturday work done Cheri and I went to the flea market over by the airport. There weren’t very many vendors, we found out the best days are Tuesday and Thursday. Cheri did find some jewelry to buy, she is a big spender I think she spent three dollars. While we were there we watched the sky divers come down. I never get tired of watching them come down, if all goes well next spring I am going to take the plunge. We got home near noon and was time for lunch and the Wisconsin Badgers football game against Indiana. Half way through the third quarter the Badgers were ahead by several points so we went over to Grandma’s to play cards. Grandma won both games. Then we went down to Ed and Lorraine’s to tell them we would pick them up for church in the morning. When we got home I check the Badger score and they won 83 to 20, it was a blow out. We had barbeque spare ribs for supper. Cheri had them cooking in the crock pot all day so it smelled good in the trailer. I worked on Cheri’s craft project and got the gluing done and I should be able to finish them up tomorrow and have pictures for you.

Since I played most of the day yesterday it was a work day for me today. I mowed five lawns, ours and the neighbor on each side of us and then over to Grandma’s to do hers, then over to Dean & Betty’s and did theirs. While I was doing the lawns Cheri took the van and went to Wal-Mart to pick up Grandma’s medicine and a few groceries. We both got back home about the same time. When we picked up the van this morning we did stop over to see Dean & Betty, we talked Dean for a little while and missed Betty as she was already out grocery shopping. They just arrived from the north late yesterday afternoon. After lunch I needed to get a tank of LP and then we went to Lowe’s to get some stakes to put in the ground so we can display Cheri’s latest craft project. I hope to get that done tomorrow and will post some pictures. We were going to meet some of our life group this evening and go to see the move Morning Glory. So at 3:30 pm we headed over to Golden Corral for an early supper. Then we headed down towards Tampa to meet at the theater at 6:30 pm. We were early so we did some shopping, Cheri went to Michael’s and I went to Best Buy. Then we got to the theater 15 minutes early and didn’t see any of our group. I even looked through the doors into the lobby and didn’t see anyone. We waited until 6:45 pm. Cheri and I decided that we must be at the wrong theater and left for home. Will be got down the road a ways and got a call from Sandy wondering where we were at. We explained that we must have been at the wrong theater. Well as it turned out we were at the right one and I just didn’t see them in the lobby. It was too late for us to go back so we head on home and settled in for an evening of TV.

It is Veterans Day so let’s all take time to say a prayer for all the veterans as they fight for our freedom as well as freedom for other counties. Bud and I took a motorcycle ride today. We waited until 10:00 am so it could warm up some. We headed south to the Harley dealer in Bradenton where Bud bought a new shirt. Then we headed east to Zolfo Springs and then north back to Zephyrhills. We made on other stop at Harbor Fright (the man’s store) in Lakeland. While we were there I heard a woman say I can’t find my husband, which shows it really is a man’s store. Bud bought a new saw/sander. We got home near 4:00 pm. It was a great 187 mile ride and the weather was perfect. Cheri stayed home and had a quite day for herself, spent most all day reading and searching on the internet. I was surprised that she didn’t go shopping.

I did some internet searching and found the mirrors I bought yesterday for $30 less than I paid for them. So I ordered them and will take back the ones I bought at the Harley Dealer. I was telling Bud about them and he had me order a set for his motorcycle. I worked all day on the truck installing the fuel filter for the auxiliary fuel tank. After I got done with the install I had to go and put in some fuel as the auxiliary tank was empty and I want to make sure I didn’t have any leaks. Well everything works great, no leaks. I should explain how it works; it filters the fuel coming from the auxiliary fuel tank as it is pumped into the trucks main tank. It will save me a ton of money as the filters for the tank are only $12 and the main filter on the truck is $60.  Cheri worked on her dish and wine bottle project. I will upload pictures of them when she finishes them. I also ordered the Banks EconoMind diesel tuner for the truck. It will give me an additional 75 hp and 200 lbs of torque at the real wheels. I am excited about getting it and hoping that it does what is says it will do. It was another perfect day in the neighborhood with a high of 81 degrees and low humidity. It was after 6:00 pm when we took our evening walk, already dark out. We see more people are coming in everyday. Boy you sure can see as when we are out and about the traffic here in Zephyrhills has doubled. I have uploaded pictures of the fuel filter see album Truck Auxiliary Fuel Filter or click on //picasaweb.google.com/sharpstravels/TruckAuxiliaryFuelFilter

It was 46 degrees again this morning and a high of 79 degrees and no wind. I called Bud to see if he wanted to go for a motorcycle ride today and said let’s do it. We waited until 10:00 am so it could warm up a little. We took the back roads to Clermont and stopped at the Harley dealer for a cup of coffee. I bought a speedometer gauge hood and an oil kit to lube the throttle cable. Then we headed toward Leesburg to make a stop at the Harley dealer. We made a stop on the way at Mc Donald’s for lunch. I purchased some new mirrors with the blind spot mirrors built in. We made one more stop at a RV outlet as Bud wanted to check on some paneling for their park model. It was 4:00 pm by the time we got home. Cheri took Grandma for her B-12 shot and then in the afternoon to the heart doctor for her appointment. That took most all the afternoon. This evening was our Life Group meeting. Our lesson tonight was on Radical Love. How we should turn the other cheek and go the extra mile. It was a good lesson and I did get a new understanding on what it means and what to do. When we got home we watched the Dancing with the Stars results show. Once again they didn’t vote out Bristol Palin. Several people that were much better than her have been voted out, it’s not right.

It was 46 degrees this morning and a high of 72 degrees. It was nice walking this morning, clear and no wind. I had an appointment in Dade City at the VA office to file a claim for hearing lost in the Navy. The guy told me it would take about six months to get meeting with an answer. First I have to get a copy of my military records which may take 4 or 5 weeks. Then I go back to the VA office to file the claim and then wait for an appointment. Cheri found a couple of new restaurants in Dade City that she wanted to stop at for lunch. The first one was closed on Mondays and the other one we went to was in an antique store. I guess I should have seen that coming. Cheri was in heaven looking around in the store before we had lunch. She found another plate for her craft project. While we were having lunch in walked Mike and Pam Gregory, what a surprise, so they joined us for lunch. They are in our Life Group and they were one of the couples we had pie with after church last night. We sat there for another two hours visiting, what a nice time we had. Then it was time to say goodbye and for us to go to Wal-Mart to pick up medicine for me and a few groceries. By the time we got home it was too late to start and new projects so we just chilled out for the rest of the afternoon. I fired up the grill this evening to cook some pork chops, along with some more fresh corn on the cob. Then it was time to settle in for an evening of Dancing with the Stars.

It was 43 degree this morning but got up to 64 degrees which was better than yesterday. Also it wasn’t quit as windy and actually it was quite nice if you stayed in the sun and out of the wind. We had our last New Believers Class this morning. Cheri and I learned a lot and it has given us a great start on our path to be a better Christian. After lunch we went over to Grandma’s to play cards and while we were there Nikki called and gave us an update on Coz. They were just waiting for doctor to release him from the hospital. It was good news, after doing more tests there wasn’t any blood clot. The doctors said that it was a torn muscle in his diaphragm. He is to go home and rest and take Tylenol for the pain. Thank you for all of you that prayed for Coz. Prayer is a very powerful thing. We all need to spend more time talking to God. We had a Church meeting this evening and afterwards two couples from our Life Group went out for pie and conversation. It was near 9:00 pm when we got home. I was recording the Packer game so Cheri and I sat down and watched that. It is always a big game when the Packers play the Cowboys and for years the Cowboys always won, well not tonight. The Cowboys had all kinds of problems and the Packer capitalized on all of them. It was a sweet win for the Packers. It was midnight before it was over and I was on a high and had trouble getting to sleep.

It was only 44 degrees this morning. We dressed for the morning walk and headed out to find the wind was strong and just too cold so we cut our morning walk short. We picked up the van from Grandma’s so we would have it to go and clean in the church this morning. We left at 9:00 am to clean the church. It took us 2 ½ hours to get that job done. Then we went to Target so Cheri could look for the colored plates, no luck there. So we made a stop at the Big Top Flea Market. Guess what, yep she found some colored plates. So now she can start work on the craft project. It was 1:30 pm before we got home. We had a very late lunch and then settled in for the rest of the afternoon reading and watching TV. It was windy all day and only got up to 61 degrees for the high. We got a call from Nikki that Coz went to the emergency this evening with bad chest pains and are doing tests. They said that his heart is ok but they think he might have a blood clot in his lungs. He has been admitted to the hospital. They are monitoring him and will do more tests in the morning. Please keep him in your prayers.

It was 54 degrees this morning and windy, made for a cool morning walk. We had a high of 70 degrees and windy all day. Bud and I planned a motorcycle ride for today, but a phone call took care of that. There will be many more nice days to ride without going on a cool windy day. We found out at that there is a new Hobby Lobby store over in New Port Richie, guess what Cheri wanted to do, yep your right. At 10:00 am we headed out to New Port Richie. The store has only been open for a short time and was it ever busy. Cheri couldn’t find the plates she was looking for there and said she wanted to go to Target. So as we left the parking lot we see an Applebee’s and it was time for lunch so we pulled in and had our usual soap and salad. Then I checked the GPS and found that Target was only 2 ½ miles away. Well when we got there the building was closed up and for rent. So we headed for home and decided to go to Target another day. We got home around 3:00 pm and stopped by Grandma’s to see how she was doing and to leave the van for her so she could go down to the Rec Hall this evening to play cards. I spent the rest of the afternoon on the computer doing some quilting lessons from the new software I installed yesterday. So I have learned a little more about it. We didn’t do our evening walk because it was very windy and cool.

It started raining around midnight and had a couple of thunder boomer come through, otherwise it was a nice soaking rain which we needed badly. It has been over month since we have had a good rain. I heard on TV the other day that Oct was one of the driest on record. It quit raining around 6:00 am so were able to do our morning walk; shortly after we got done it started raining again. It rained off and on all day which turned out to be a day of inside work or play. Cheri gave me a much needed haircut this morning. We did take a ride to the foot doctor so I could pick up the paper work I need to have filled out for my appointment on the 15th. Cheri needed to stop at Wal-Mart to take back some clothes he bought and didn’t like after she got them home and tried them on. Then a stop at Lowe's to pick up a new light switch for the light over recliners. Last night when we got ready to go to bed the light switch broke and I couldn't turn off the light so I had to take out the blubs. We were back home by 11:30 am. The quilting software I order came so I loaded it into the computer and played with it this afternoon. It is going to take a while to learn on to use it but should be able to design some pretty neat quilts. There are a lot of build in lessons to do to help me understand how things work. I also got the light fixed. This evening we were invited over to Grandma’s to play dominos along with Rick and Janis. The girls gave Rick and I a good whipping, we only went out 2 out of 13 times.

We didn’t have any plans for today so after our morning walk we were taking our time getting around. Well that all changed at 9:15 am when a knock came at the door. It was Bud wanting to know if I wanted to go for a motorcycle ride today. Well there is no way I could turn that down. So I quickly got showered and was ready to leave at 10:00 am. We headed south to the Harley dealer in Brandon and then rode over to Lakeland for lunch a Mc Donald’s. Then it was time to make a stop at the Lakeland Harley dealer. I check to see what it would cost to have the 20,000 mile check up on my bike. I got a quote of $450.00 and if I wanted the oil change in the front forks that would be an additional $350.00. Plus if I have them put on two new tires that would be another $500.00. It looks like it’s time for me to get back to doing my old mechanical work. We made one more stop at the RV dealer so I could pick up some white headed screws for the 5th wheel. I have some broken screws to replace plus I want to add some additional screws around the front cap. It was around 3:30 pm when we got home. It was a very nice 100 mile ride. Cheri arrived home just as I was unlocking the door. She had been over to Grandma today and took her to the bank and to have her hair cut, and then they went out for lunch. Cheri also did some other shopping, still looking for the plates to use in her craft project. This evening we took our evening walk and made several stops to talk to people and welcome them back for the winter. It was after 7:00 pm before we got home.

I had my doctor’s appointment this morning at 10:15 am and didn’t get in until 11:15 am. It was OK because my PSA was down a couple of points and I don’t have to go back again for six months. I also got a referral to see the foot doctor. I have been having a burning pain in by right foot near the ball of the foot. My doctor told me it was due to arthritis and I need a shot of cortisone. So I have an appointment on the 15th to have that done. I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that I went to a VA meeting and would be hearing from the VA clinic to have a physical, well I haven’t heard anything so I stopped in at the clinic on the way home and was told that I have to reapply in January. I wasn’t happy about that. They did tell me I should file a claim with the VA about the hearing I lost while I was in the Navy, as I had worked in load noisy places. So I have an appointment next Monday to file a claim. This afternoon we made a trip to Wal-Mart to pick up my medicine and to get some things for Grandma. When we got home I dropped the van off for Grandma so she could go and play cards down at the Rec Hall this evening. It is the first night for playing cards this season, Grandma is happy about that as she loves to play cards. We had our Life Group gathering this evening and everyone except one person was there. It was another great time talking about sacrificial love.

It was a perfect day with a high of 80 degrees and no humidity. It would be great to have this kind of weather all winter. Today we had to pay our rent and Grandma’s rent for the year. It always takes a big chunk out of our savings. After we got done paying our rent we see Bud outside as he had lawn people laying new sod in his front lawn. Most of it is under a large tree and about every five years he has to replace it. It looks real nice and now comes the watering all winter. We talked with Bud and Joyce until it was time for Joyce to head over to the pool for water aerobics; she is in charge of doing the aerobics. The rest of the forenoon and part of the afternoon was sent on getting our health insurance figured out for next year. A lot of new changes from this year and had to do some internet searching on the different things that are available. The more I checked the more confused I got. We did what we think is the best for us and pray to God that it is right. Later this afternoon Cheri wanted to go to some goodwill stores to look for colored dinner plates to use on a craft project. So we went as far as Dade City and back and didn’t find what she wanted. First we were going to take the motorcycle and ride down to Lakeland to Michael’s and Joanne Fabrics, but after checking on the internet they didn’t have what she wanted, so no motorcycle ride today. I also spent more time on the internet searching for power tuners to give our truck more horse power. The latest one I have been checking out is made by Banks Power. I really like the Edge product but I can’t adjust the power rating while driving and I think that is an important feature while pulling the 5th wheel in hills and mountains. The Banks Power gives me that option. I will spend some more time checking them out before I make a decision. We did our evening walk and stopped to visit with Ed and Lorraine as they were sitting outside. We left when the mosquitoes came out. It was already getting dark so we cut our walk short.

I hope everyone had a Happy Halloween. We had our New Believers class this morning at 9:00 am and then church service afterwards. It was 1:00 pm by the time we got home. We had lunch and settled in to watch the Packers beat the Jets. It was a tough game and was happy that the Packer came away a winner. After the Packer game it was time to watch the NASCAR Race. While I was watching the race Cheri went over to see Grandma. When Cheri got home I started the grill and did some pork chops and Cheri fixed some fresh green beans with butter and garlic. Then we took our evening walk and was almost dark by the time we got done. Then we finished watching the race. We watched a couple more TV shows and then it was time to call it a night. The most exciting part of the day was learning more about God and what he can do for us. I am not as good as I should be but I am better than I was yesterday.
