Gay July-18-11

At 6:00 am it was already 79 degrees and was 6 degrees cooler in Zephyrhills Florida. That was just the beginning. It got up in the high 90’s with a heat index of well over 100 degrees. It was one of those days that you stay inside with the air conditioner. Of course I am not that smart as we bought some flowers and took them up to the cemetery to put on Dad’s (Grandpa’s) grave. Then we made a stop at the hardware store so I could get a can of black spray paint. After we got home I changed and put on my old clothes and crawled under the 5th wheel and painted the places that we had welded so they won’t rust, then I put the mud flap back on the truck. Needless to say I was soaked and wet from the sweat when I got done, time to take another shower. Ok now I know that I should stay inside. Cheri did a couple of loads of laundry and we couldn’t run the air conditioner while the dryer was running because we only have a 30 amp service at this campground. So after the first load was dry we cooled the 5th wheel down before doing the other load. This afternoon we went over to Burl and Dorothy’s. They took us over to meet their neighbors (Charlotte and Don) next door. She is into making quilts and Dorothy want Cheri to see all of her quilts. I couldn’t believe all the quilts she had, I am sure we looked at well over 100 different quilts of different sizes. After visiting with them we headed back to Burl and Dorothy’s and got ready to go out for supper. They took us to Readstown to eat at the Kickapoo Inn. Burl and Dorothy had taken us there a few years ago and was very good. On the way home we took a lot of back roads where we all used to live 50 years ago (except for Cheri). Hard to believe how much things have changed. When we got back to Burl and Dorothy’s we had a bowl of sherbet and watched a little TV with them before saying our goodbyes as we won’t see them again until next year. All I can say about the weather is it is hot and humid, when we would go outside our glasses would fog up.
