Well we lost another hour of time today, back on Eastern Time. It was fun getting all the extra hours of time when going to Alaska and not so much fun giving them back. It really doesn’t make that much different for us retired people, just something to talk about. We decided to stay in the campground here in Atlanta instead of putting our 5th wheel in storage and staying with Darren. This morning Cheri said we should call the campground and make a reservation, something that I almost never do. So I called and got their voice mail and left a message that we were coming in late this afternoon. Well when we got here there was a camper in front of us that had passed us about a hundred miles before we got here. Long story short we got the last campsite that was available. The people in front of us didn’t have a reservation and told them to go and check out a site that was very small and to see if they could get into it, we saw that they did get their 5th wheel parked. So it was a good thing that we called ahead. The traffic wasn’t bad again today and it helped getting into Atlanta before the rush hour. We went over to Darren’s at 6:45 pm. Darren fixed us chicken on the grill for supper. Later we went out to get some ice cream and then back to visit and watch some TV.

We were up early this morning getting packed up and ready to leave for Atlanta. We said our goodbyes to Kari and where on the road by 8:30 am. We didn’t want to be any earlier as we didn’t want to be in morning rush hour traffic. I wasn’t looking forward to the drive around Chicago, but I must admit it wasn’t all that bad. The trip was uneventful; we had a nice sunny day for our trip. We drove 504 miles today and are staying at Nashville Country RV Park in Goodlettsville TN which is about 20 miles north of Nashville. We arrived here about 6:45 pm, just in time to get set up so Cheri could watch Dancing with the Stars.

Still another cold morning and day, there won’t be any relief while we are here. We went to The Chapel for church this morning, it was very interesting. The message was delivered by video which I was pretty disappointed in, but it was a good message. We got home around noon and we weren’t able to get the Packer game on TV, in fact we had trouble finding a radio station that was broadcasting it. It has been a long time since I listened to a game on the radio. I did record the Nascar Race on Kari’s TV because we don’t have any Direct TV because of the trees. I watched it after the Packer game. Kari and Cheri made another purse. Tomorrow we will be back on the road heading for Atlanta to spend a week with our son and daughter-in-law.

It was another cold day. Cheri and Kari spent the day working on the purse project and finally got it done. They pretty much made their own pattern which made more work for them. I asked them how long it would take to make another one and they said about two hours. It sounds like they plan on making another one tomorrow. When I took Cheri to Hancock Fabrics I saw a Harbor Freight store close by and was going to go yesterday but was too tired after my day of work. Kari and Cheri are going to a fabric store in Crystal Lake today and also plan on going to Hancock’s Fabrics so I said I would ride along and look around in Harbor Freight. Well when we got there it was a new store and will not be open until Oct 31. I am glad I took by book with me so I had something to do while the girls shopped. It was another great day in the neighborhood that God made for us.

It was 66 degrees yesterday morning and only 37 degrees this morning. Cheri and Kari spent the day visiting and working on their purse project. I worked outside, cleaned the battery cables on Kari’s car, and did find some corrosion that could have caused the problem when it didn’t start the other day. I had the garage all done so she could get her car in the garage and now she tells me I have to get all the Christmas decoration out of the garage and then put all the patio furniture in the garage. I wasn’t sure I was going to make everything fit, but after removing the Christmas decorations I had hoped and everything would fit, well it did with some extra rearranging. Kari also had list of other projects for me to do like hanging pictures and changing light bulbs. This evening Kari took us over to the Forth Friday Art show in Harvard. It was in an old factory that has been set up with all kinds of art shops. There must have been 500 people. They served wine and snacks and we were given a slip of paper with over 150 numbers and were able to vote on the one piece of art and picture we thought was the best, it was a fun time.

It was 62 degrees when I got up this morning and then the wind came later this morning and was very windy until around 4:00 pm and then the rain came and was still raining when we went to bed. I actually did some work today. I cleaned out Kari’s garage and rearranged things so she can park her car in the garage now. I also mowed her lawn and mulched leaves. The rest of the day I played lazy. Kari had a meeting to go to early this morning and when she got back she and Cheri started working on a craft project which was making a purse. Sounds like things aren’t coming out the way they want them to. This evening we went to Nicks Pizza place for some of their good pizza. It is one place we go very time we come to see Kari. Kari had a meeting there after we eat, so Cheri and I left and went to Hancock Fabrics so Cheri could get a few things for their purse project and then to Aldi’s Foods to get some groceries. It was around 8:30 pm when we got back home. We watched a little TV and called it a night.

It was a very warm day and didn’t have to have a jacket on all day. We had a high temp in the high 70’s. It was still in the high 60’s at midnight. Kari had to go into Chicago to work at her girl friends dental office. Kari is helping her out one day a week and getting set up to hire a new receptionist. Cheri and I left at 10:00 am to go north (only twenty miles) to see Katherine and Bart Turk. Katherine’s parents and my parents where fiends for over 50 years and us kids have carried on the tradition. We had the best time telling stories of our parents and things that happened to all of us as we were growing up. Katherine made us a great lunch of soup and sandwich. Katherine’s sister Lilly came over. We taught them how to play Hand, Knee and Foot. Then we went out for dinner in Lake Geneva and then to Lilly’s place to play more Hand, Knee and Foot. Later in the evening we had fresh apple pie that Katherine made. It was a great day to spend with friends. I had said a few days back that we had taken some pictures of the Wisconsin fall colors, well here they are, click on this link https://picasaweb.google.com/sharpstravels then click on album: fall colors.

It was another rainy day, but it was at least warm with a temp near 60 degrees. I took Cheri so she could get her hair cut. It was almost noon when we got back to Kari’s and she was home for lunch. Late this afternoon when Kari got home from work she and Cheri when shopping looking for things to use in the craft project they are going to do. I stayed home and read and watched TV. Cheri had put a turkey breast in the crook pot for supper along with mashed potatoes and broccoli, very good. Then it was time for Dancing with the Stars. So as you can see it was another lazy Day to unwind some more.

I was up at 5:30 am as Kari leaves for work at 5:45 am. Well the good news is her car started. I am not sure what the problem is or was but I will check it out when she gets home from work. Update. Kari had a doctor’s appointment after work and didn’t get home until after 4:30 pm and it was raining. Her car started every time without any problems so I will check it out tomorrow. Cheri gave me a much needed hair cut this morning. After we got ready this morning I was going to cut Kari’s grass but it was too wet. Cheri wanted to go shopping for new sheets for our bed. So I dropped her off at JC Penny’s and I went to pick up a few things at Home Depot to fix a few things that Kari had on a list for me. We stopped at Shake and Steak for lunch (big mistake) on the way back to Kari’s. This afternoon Cheri got her sewing machine out along with all her material. She and Kari are going to do some sewing projects this week. I finished the list of things Kari had for me. Kari fixed us Tomato Shrimp Scampi with Fettuccine and garlic bread for supper, an excellent meal.

We took our time getting around this morning because church wasn’t until 11:00 am. We sat and visited with Kari while enjoying our coffee. We went to the local community church. We have been there twice before once each of the last two years. Well when we came out of church the pastor asked us what our name was, after we told him our names he said yes I remember you are from South Dakota. We couldn’t believe he would remember us after only being there twice in two years. After church we made a stop at Wal-Mart on the way home as Cheri and Kari had a few things they needed to pick up. I on the other hand waited for them in the car. It was after 1:00 pm before we got back to Kari’s place. It was a good thing that Kari was recording the Packer game because it had started at 12:00 pm. Kari fixed pizza for lunch and we sat down and watched the Packer game. After the game was over Kari took us over to meet a couple of her friends that live out in the county on a 40 acre farm with goats, donkeys and horses. We had a very enjoyable time with them. When we got ready to leave Kari’s car wouldn’t start the battery was completely dead. We tried to jump it with no luck and then put the battery charger on it for a while. It then started and we headed home. I told Kari if it didn’t start in the morning I would take her to work.

It was a beautiful fall day with lots of sunshine and a high temp in the mid 50’s. Today is move day so when we got up and around we started putting things away getting ready to leave. Todd came at 10:00 am and we went up to the local restaurant for a late breakfast and to spend a few hours visiting before we headed to McHenry IL to spend time with our daughter Kari. We finally got on the road at 1:00 pm. We only had 138 miles to travel today. After getting the truck front end aligned I must say it does drive a lot better, but still have the vibration. We arrived at Kari’s around 4:00 pm. Kari had called us and said that she wouldn’t be home until after 7:00 pm. She left us a key so we could get in. We got the 5th wheel set up in the driveway and made ourselves at home. Kari got here around 8:30 pm and had a nice visit before heading to bed.

Late morning we got the call that our truck was done. They told me that it no longer shakes on the road. Well I was really happy to hear that news. They told me we could pick it up around 2:00 pm. Todd stopped by to have lunch with us. Cheri made an apple pie, so we had left over soup and hot apple pie, doesn’t get any better than that. Cheri and I took Todd’s truck and headed up to Sauk City to get the truck. Long story short the vibration is still happing at the 62 to 65 mile an hour. It does steer better but that wasn’t a real problem before. When we got back to Todd’s I put the truck in the shop and changed oil, filter, transmission filter, and greased it. I have lost my touch as I managed to spill oil and got some on me. Well at least it is done and the truck is ready for the road. It was after 5:00 pm when I got done and had to take a shower to get cleaned up. Todd came over around 6:00 pm and we decided to go out for a drink and a Friday night fish fry. Cheri drove Todd’s car and Todd and I took our truck as Todd wanted to drive it to see what I was talking about (the vibration). I guess it is something we are going to have to live with. The drink and fish fry topped off the evening that we spent with Todd, how lucky we are to have friends like Todd. It really isn’t luck, its Gods will.

It was an interesting day. Last night I was telling Todd about our truck having a shimmy in the front at around 62 to 65 miles per hour. It has been there since it was new and I had it back to the dealer for repair. They did help it some but it still wasn’t right. I had thought it might be the tires so when I got new tires last year; we still had the same problem. I even took the truck to two different places to have the tires balanced, still no help. I did some searching on the internet and it appears to be a problem with all the GM 4500 and 5500 series. Long story short Todd talked me into taking it to a frame and alignment shop in Sauk City. Todd called the shop and made arraignments for us. So Cheri and I left for Sauk City around10:00 am. When we arrived they told us that they couldn’t check it out until late afternoon. So we made a stop at the Harley shop and then to Subway for lunch. We got a call early afternoon and said they were ready for us and would have to leave it. So we called Todd and he said he would be up late to get us as he was really busy. Awhile later Todd called me and said that he had a truck coming trough Sauk City and would have him stop and pick me up and ride back to Barneveld with him. When we got back I got Todd’s truck and drove back to Sauk City to pick up Cheri. When I got there to pick her up they said they found something in the alignment that could cause the problem we are having. So now it is just waiting to see if our problem will be fixed. It was near 5:00 pm before we got back to Barneveld. A little later Todd stopped by the 5th wheel and wanted me to take him home so we would have his truck to use. We told him we were fine for the night, but he still wanted me to take him home as he wants to bring his Corvette to work so he can put it in storage for the winter. It was cold and rainy all day so Cheri fixed soup for supper, sure hit the spot.

Burl and Dorothy pick us up at 8:00 am and took us out for breakfast. Then it was back to our place so Cheri could show them her quilt projects that she had done since we were here last year. Then it was time to say our goodbyes as it was time to close up the 5th wheel and head on down the road to Barneveld to spend a couple of days with our friend Todd Recob. We are parked behind his truck company where he keeps is motor home. Todd moves is motor home so we have full hook ups while we are here. We arrived in Barneveld around 11:30 am only and hour’s drive today. About half an hour after we got set up it started to rain and continued the rest of the day and evening. Todd had a very busy day and we didn’t get to spend any time with him until after 6:00 pm. Then he went home and picked up Jordan and we met them in Mt Horeb at the Grumpy Troll for pizza. We visited for a while after pizza and Todd said it was time to get Jordon home. When we got home we watched a little TV and called it a night.

It was another wonderful fall day with sunshine and a high temp in the mid 50’s. My aunt and uncle where tied up this morning so we didn’t go over to their place until about 11:30 am. We visited for a while and then went out for lunch. Then they took us out in the county for a ride and ended up at the apple orchard in Gays Mills. There are several apple orchards around Gays Mills. I don’t know how many acres of apples there are but they are as far as you can see and all directions. We bought some apples so Cheri can make me an apple pie, how good does that sound. When we got back to Burl and Dorothy’s Dorothy showed us some pictures and we also showed them our Alaska pictures. Dorothy and Cheri went out and picked up pizza for supper and Dorothy had apple pie for us. It was around 7:00 pm when we got back to the 5th wheel, just in time to watch Dancing with the Stars. Cheri was much happier about who got voted off although there was one person that she thought should have gone first. It was another wonderful day God made for us to spend with family.

We were packed up and on the road by 8:45 am. We had a lunch date with Dean and Betty in Richland Center today so we needed to get on the road. We arrived at their place at 11:45 am, good timing. We visited for a while before heading to Center Square for lunch at Center Café. They have an excellent menu for seniors. Cheri and I had soup, main course, bread, and dessert, all for just over thirteen dollars for both of us. After lunch Dean and Betty let us use their car to go over and see Kenny. He lives in an assisted living place and they were just getting done with their group music hour. We visited for a couple of hours and showed him pictures of our Alaska trip. He really enjoyed the pictures and it brought back memories of when he and Eileen went to Alaska. When we got back to Dean and Betty’s we played a game of dominos which Dean and I won. We hadn’t play dominos since we were in Florida this spring and that was with Dean and Betty. It was a little after 6:00 pm before we got back on the road and headed for Boscobel, I had wanted to get set up in the campground before it got dark, but that didn’t happen as it was pretty dark when we arrived. It was around 7:30 pm before we got the TV going, OH No!! Dancing with the Stars is on and we missed part of it. We watched the rest of it and then a couple of other shows. At 10:00 pm Dancing with the Stars started on the west coast feed so we got to watch the first part that we had missed. By the way we had no rain and a nice sunny fall day with the temp in the high 50’s. I was going to upload some fall pictures but our internet service is too slow.

It was raining when I got up this morning and was still raining when I went to bed. I mean it rained all day without stopping. Cheri put in a bad night so I told her to stay in bed and rest so we didn’t make it to church today. At noon we went over to Coz and Nikki’s for dinner. Nikki had made dumplings. They sure were good and it has been a long time since we have had them. This afternoon we went to Fleet Farm to do some shopping, Nikki needed to get some dog food. When we got back to Coz and Nikki’s Cheri, Nikki and Cece painted pumpkins. When Coz got up Nikki, Cece and Coz carved pumpkins. After supper Cheri and I said our goodbyes which were very hard because we don’t know when we will see them again. While we have been here in Fond du Lac we have had a fun time with our granddaughter. We watched the Green Bay packers play this evening. Cheri watched about half of the game before she headed for bed. It was an exciting game, sure was a different team that played this week. If they would play all the games like they did tonight they wouldn’t lose another game.

Well around 2:00 am it started raining and didn’t quit until 6:30 am, now the wind is blowing, haven’t checked the weather yet to see what kind of day it going to be. Well it I just checked and it is supposed to rain all day. I guess they are right because by 7:00 am it was raining again and continued most of the day. Around 10:30 am we headed over to Coz and Nikki’s Coz and I watched the Wisconsin Badgers play and Nikki and Cheri were visiting and planning different events that Nikki would be doing. I think it was more about shopping than anything else. Around 3:00 pm we had a late lunch or early supper of brats and hamburgers. Then it was time for Coz to get a little sleep before he headed off to work. Cheri, Nikki and I played a game of Hand, Knee and Foot. I think Nikki is hook on the game. Coz got up and left for work at 6:15 pm and we headed for home after playing cards. We settled in for the evening watching the NASCAR Race, well some of it as I couldn’t stay awake for all of it so I will finish watching it tomorrow.

It was 28 degrees when I got up this morning and when I went to make coffee there was no water. I forgot to let it run a little last night so it froze up. I did turn on the pump and was able to get water to make coffee. I checked the weather on the internet and it was 22 degrees at the airport. Around 9:00 am we had water again but the pressure was low so I went outside to check the connections and I had water spraying from my water splitter. It had frozen and cracked. So I removed it and everything is back to normal. We got a call from Coz this morning asking us to come over for brunch which sounded great. After brunch Coz, Nikki and Cece raked up the leaves in their lawn. Cheri and I went back to the 5th wheel so Cheri could make lasagna to take over for supper and I loaded the motorcycle getting it ready to travel, there won’t be any more riding weather here. It turned out to be a beautiful fall day with lots of sunshine and no wind; we had a high temp in the low 50’s. We got back to Coz and Nikki’s just as they were finishing the lawn raking. We gave Cece her Christmas presents this afternoon as we won’t be around for Christmas. Then we played a game of Hand, Knee and Foot which the girls won. Then it was time for supper, Nikki surprised me with one of her home made cherry pies, they are the best. After supper we played another game of Hand, Knee and Foot, this time Coz and I won. What a wonderful day God made for us to spend with family.

It was another nasty morning with cold wind and rain showers. The rain didn’t last very long and the sun did come out but the wind was still cold. This forenoon we went to the jewelers to have Cheri’s rings checked and cleaned. We do this each year that we are in Wisconsin and almost forgot to do it this year. Then to Wal-Mart for a few groceries and I needed to get oil for the truck as I need to get it changed next week. I fill the truck with fuel and have that ready for when we leave Monday. Coz, Nikki, and Cece pick us up at 5:30 pm and took us to Beaver Dam to have Chinese; another thing we do together each year, the food is always good and today was no exception.

It was 33 degrees when I got up this morning and a strong wind blowing. Well the high temp for the day was 41degrees. Needless to say we stayed pretty close to the fire today. We did venture out at 2:00 pm and went to Fox Lake to see Bill and Barb. When we were there last week Barb was going to give me some chocolate chip cookies as she knows it is one of my favorite. Barb had called and said that we had to come back so I could get my cookies. We visited for a bit and then it was time to go to Friesland to visit Bruce and Jeannie as we had been invited for supper. We had a great time catching up as it has been a year since we were last together. We shared pictures of our Alaska trip and they showed us pictures of their trip out west. As we were talking about our trips I asked them when they were in some of the places at we were and as it turned out we were only a few behind them (small world). We got home a little after 10:00 pm so we headed straight to bed.

It was a rainy misty day, not a good day to be out and about, so we stayed in, read and watched TV. Yep I think there was even a nap or two. At 3:30 pm Tom and Chris arrived for the evening (another long time motorcycle friend). We had a wonderful visit with a lot of storytelling of the good old times and things that have been happing the last year. At 5:30 pm we went out to eat at the Back Yard bar and grill. The food was just as good as it was last year when we were there. Then it was back to our place for more visiting. After Tom and Chris left we setting in to watch Dancing with the Stars that we had recorded. Cheri was pretty upset about who got voted off. Oh yes the memory foam topper we put on the mattress was the answer, we both got a very good night’s sleep.

Well it wasn’t that cold today but with the stiff wind all day it sure felt cold. We headed out to get a tank of LP, another sign that it is getting colder as we just got one a couple of weeks ago. When we got to the LP place they had a sign that said they only fill tanks between 11:00 am and 5:00 pm, we were there at 10:00 am. We had tried to get a tank on Sat at a different place and were told that they don’t fill tanks on Friday or Sat. We have seen how business complains about not making money but then they only want things done on their terms. That is why we went to a different place to get our LP. Long story short we went on shopping and came back later to get the tank filled. We aren’t happy with the new mattress so today we went shopping for a mattress topper. We ended up getting a three inch memory foam topper. Now I feel like we almost need a ladder to get in bed. The new mattress is seven inches thicker than the old one and now we add another three inches to it. We also made a stop at Wal-Mart for some groceries. This afternoon Cheri worked on the book illustrations for the children books that Nikki has written. After Cheri gets them done Nikki is going to see if she can get them published. I worked on uploading our Alaska trip pictures to the I-Pad. It took me awhile to figure it out but managed to get it done. Late afternoon we went to watch Cece play volleyball. Once again they won all three games. Coz had to leave before the last game was over so he wouldn’t be late for work. Nikki was still at work so she didn’t get to see the game. After work Nikki came over for supper and afterwards Cheri showed her the book illustrations. After Nikki left we sat down and watched Dancing with the Stars.

Our day started by going to church, another great sermon from the book of Luke. After church we headed over to Coz and Nikki’s for a tail gate party and to watch the Packers play. The Packers forgot to show up for the second half of the game. It was sad to see how poorly they played. After the game Coz headed to bed to take a nap before he had to leave for work. Cheri, Nikki, Cece, and I played a couple of games of cards. Then it was time to head for home so I could watch the NASCAR Race that I had recorded. After the race Cheri and I watched a couple more shows we had recorded and then headed for bed.

It was another 38 degree morning with a stiff wind. The good thing is I don’t have to do any work outside or even inside today. About 8:45 am we headed to the grocery store to pick up some fresh fruit and then to Coz and Nikki’s for breakfast. Nikki and Cheri fixed pancakes, eggs, sausage gravy and biscuits along with the fresh fruit, what a great breakfast. We sat and visited the rest of the morning and also looked at some of our Alaskan pictures we took, Cece wanted to see the bears. Coz, Nikki and Cece had a wedding to go to this afternoon. So we headed back to the 5th wheel to relaxed and watched TV this afternoon. Cheri also did a couple loads of laundry. This evening we got a call from Todd Recob a friend of ours that goes back many years when they first came out with snow mobiles. We also did a lot of motorcycle riding together. We made plans on getting together with him in couple of weeks. The new mattress was better last night but we need some time to get use to it. I think it will be fine over the long haul.

I really didn’t want to go outside this morning as it was 37 degrees with a stiff wind blowing. The worst part is Coz and I have to work on the roof of the entry way today. We arrived at Coz and Nikki’s at 9:00 am ready to work (yaw right who am I kidding). Nikki and Cheri headed out for a day of shopping. Coz and I decided to work in the entry way putting the ceiling back up before we ventured outside to do the roof. Well it was a good idea but the battery in the nail gun was dead and needed to be recharged. So we headed to Menards to get what we need to repair the roof. When we got back the wind had died down and the sun was out on the side where we would be working, so it wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be. When we were done with the roof the nail gun was charged and ready to go. We finished putting up the ceiling and I got the back door adjusted so everything is done except for a little chalking and some paint. Just as we finished Nikki and Cheri got home from shopping. It was time to go and pick up Cece from school. She had told Coz that she wanted Grandpa and Grandma to come and pick her up with the big truck, so we did. None of us had any lunch today so by 4:00 pm we were all hungry. Nikki and Cheri didn’t feel like fixing any supper so Coz and I went and picked up a Papa Murphy’s Pizza for supper. After supper Cheri and I headed for home, I was tied and sore from working (getting soft in my old age). I took a hot shower and tried to watch some TV, I failed at that too as within a few minutes I was asleep in the chair. So we both headed for the bed. Mattress update, it felt really good but neither of us got a good night’s sleep. Cheri got up with a bad headache in the night but was better this morning. I just had trouble sleeping; I could have been on a cloud and still wouldn’t have slept.

Gay Oct-4-12

It was a busy day for both of us. We have a new mattress being delivered today. So we got the old one out this morning so Cheri could give the bedroom a good cleaning. At 9:00 am I headed over to Coz and Nikki’s, Coz and I are working on their entry way between the house and garage. It is on a floating slab and is starting to pull away from the house. We put some I bolts in and tried to use a come along to pull it back together, no luck doing that. So I guess at some point in time it is going to have to be completely removed and rebuilt. For the short term I readjusted the entry doors. Just before noon we headed over to Menards to pick up some materials we needed. Then we headed over to the 5th wheel for lunch. Cheri was still cleaning; she had gone through the closet and cabinets in the bedroom and has a bag of clothes to take to Good Will. While we were eating lunch we got a call and they were on their way to deliver the new mattress. We are looking forward to a good night’s sleep. Coz and I headed back to his place to continue working on the entry way. We worked until 5:00 pm and I picked up things so we could get things back in the garage while Coz went and got Cheri and picked Nikki up from work. Coz grilled chicken and potatoes for supper. Coz’s mother also joined us for supper. After supper Cheri and I headed back home looking forward to a good night’s sleep.

We headed out this morning a little after 9:00 am and drove to Friesland where we used to live. We took a chance that Bruce and Jeanie Braaksma would be home but they weren’t so we left them a message to give us a call. We once again drove by our old house and took some pictures of it. Then we took a ride out though the back roads to see all the fall colors. At 11:30 am we arrived in Randolph to have lunch with the people we worked with at Century Link. It was fun catching up on the happenings over the last year. After lunch it was time to head on down the road to see Bill and Barb Mullen. Cheri and Barb used to work together and have remained friends over the years. Bill was recovering from back surgery; he was moving a little slow but looked very good. Barb fixed us a wonderful dessert and coffee. After a nice visit, it was time to head back to Fond du Lac to go out with Coz and Nikki for half price pizza at Capone’s in Pipe. We were there last Wednesday and needed to go again. We got a call from Bruce and Jeanie and have set up a time to get together next week. It was a busy day but lots of fun spending time with friends and family. We have been in Fond du Lac over a week; the time has really gone by fast.

What a wonderful day we had, sunshine and in the low 70’s. In fact the weather has been pretty nice since have been in Wisconsin but that is about to change this weekend it is supposed to be in the mid 40’s, time to think about heading farther south. Here in Wisconsin we have a man’s store called Menard’s. It is like Lowe’s and Home Depot only much better. It is one thing I look forward to when we are in Wisconsin and today was our day to go, yep Cheri likes it too. It was noon before we got home. After lunch I worked on cleaning the truck trying to get the Alaskan dirt and grime off the truck. It took me all afternoon to get it where it looks like a white truck again. I still need to go over it one more time. It was near 4:00 pm when I got done and was popped for the day. Cheri was doing some art work this afternoon. Nikki stopped in after work and stayed for supper. Coz also stopped over for a short visit before he headed to work. After supper Nikki, Cheri and I played a couple hands of Hand, Knee and Foot. After Nikki left it was time to sit down and watch Dancing with the Stars.

Gay Oct-1-12

As I sit here in front of the computer (boy stupid me where else would I be to write this) it’s hard to believe it is October already not sure where the summer went. I know we have done a lot of traveling this summer and sometimes I think it was just a dream, if it was it was a wonderful dream. We had John and Linda Tschanz long time friends from when we lived in Brandon WI visit us this morning. We went out for breakfast and then back to our place to visit and play cards. We taught them how to play Hand, Knee and foot. It was a fun to spend some time with them; we wouldn’t see them again this year as they are leaving Sat. for Arizona for a month. At 4:30 pm we headed over to Coz and Nikki’s to visit with Coz before we went to watch Cece’s volleyball game. They played three games and won all three. Coz left for work from the game and we headed back to Coz and Nikki’s to wait for Nikki to get home. She wanted to play a game of Hand, Knee and Foot; we only played two hands as it would have been too late to play a whole game. When we got home Cheri had to watch Dancing with the Stars, yes I stayed up and watched it with her, and I did have trouble staying awake. All in all it was a great day in the neighborhood.

Gay Sept-30-12

We got the chance to go to church today, it has been a while since we have gotten to church. With being on the road traveling sometimes it is hard to find a church where there is room to park a big truck and 5th wheel plus having internet service to find one. When we are staying in campgrounds there is really no excuse for not going. Anyway it felt good and the sermon was great, it was a roll play about Simon meeting Jesus. After church we went over to Coz and Nikki’s. Coz was in bed because he works nights. So Cheri, Nikki and I played Hand, Knee and Foot. It was 12:15 pm when we started and the game lasted until after 3:30 pm. By then it was time to get the grill out and grill the brats that I was going to do yesterday. Then it was time to sit down and watch the Packers play. What a game, even with the regular referees there were several bad calls on both sides. At least the Packers came out on top this time. Coz was able to watch most of the game before he went to work and Cheri and Nikki went shopping before the game was over. After the game I headed back to the 5th wheel and watched the NASCAR Race that I had recorded. Cheri got home around 8:00 pm. We watched a couple of shows and called it a night.
