Both
Cheri and I didn’t get much accomplished today as we are tired; think old age
is catching up with us. Cheri did her pool exercise and I worked on the
computer getting the cargo trailer on Craigslist for sale with pictures. Cheri
tried to do a few things but she said that she didn’t have the energy to do
much. Early afternoon we went to get our hair cut. I told them how bad the hair
cut was the last time and so today when I got done they said there wouldn’t be
any charge for my hair cut. I do know that the lady that cut my hair the last
time will never cut it again. We made a stop at Lowe’s to get what I need to
move the dining room light fixture as it doesn’t hang in the middle of the
table, going to swag it and needed a hook for it. Then we made a stop at
Wal-Mart to pick up a few things and a for sale sign to put on the trailer.
When we got home Cheri rested and I went over to see my neighbor Mike next door
to see about us going on a motorcycle ride Saturday down to the Lakeland Harley
dealer as they are putting on a performance workshop that I thought would be
interesting. This evening we went out to watch the space station go over but it
was too cloudy and wasn’t able to see it.

Cheri
is having Mary and Marlene come at 1:00 pm for a quilting or sewing or just a
gathering to visit or all of the above. She decided she wanted to fix lasagna and
garlic bed for supper after the ladies gathering. Cheri gave me a list of
things she needed from the grocery store to fix the lasagna. On the way to the
grocery store I stopped by Mike and Mary’s to see if they still had their
rented RV site. We have been informed by the park management that we cannot
store our cargo trailer in the carport. We told them that we just got it
unloaded and need to wash it and get it advertised for sale. Long story short
is that if it doesn’t sell right away I need a place to store it until it
sells. Mike and Mary no longer have their site so I need to look for a place. By
the time I got home from the grocery store it was almost noon. Cheri was trying
to rearrange things in her sewing room so there would be room for them to sew.
After lunch I started washing the cargo trailer and was still washing it when
Norm and Marlene came at 1:00 pm and a few minutes later Mike and Mary came.
Mike didn’t stay as he had a couple of things he need to do. I told Norm that I
had to finish washing the trailer before I could visit. Mike returned before I
got done and visited with Norm while I finished my project. I got done about
the same time as the ladies were done sewing. We visited until it was time for
supper. I think Cheri’s lasagna was the best and everyone liked it. We had Key
Lime pie for dessert. After our friends left we topped off the evening with TV
and going outside to watch the space station pass over.

Not
much to write about today. Cheri did her pool exercises and her knee is
improving as I can see she is walking better. Cheri spent the day cleaning and
trying to get the house back in some kind of order. She is still sorting
through things and she also hung some pictures. I worked on the motorcycle;
finished installing the battery and then it was time for a complete detailing.
I didn’t get done until a little after 4:00 pm. This evening we watched Dancing
with the Stars and were surprised on who got voted out. The weather was a
repeat of yesterday.

It
was another cool 54 degree morning but still turned out to be a nice day in the
mid 70’s. At 9:00 am we picked up Grandma and headed for church. Pastor Dean had
an excellent message to day about Verses for Life. It was just the three of us
that went out for lunch today; the rest of our group was away or had other
plans. On the way home we stopped at Sam’s to see if they had a motorcycle battery
for my bike, no luck there. When we dropped Grandma off at home we see Bud and
Joyce have returned for the winter so we stopped for a visit, which also means
I no longer have to take care of their lawn. Next we stopped at K-Mart, Advance
Auto Parts, and Auto Zone where I was able to get the motorcycle battery. It
was after 2:00 pm before we finally got home. Cheri went back to work in the
sunroom and I put the new battery on the charger and then I was done for the
day. I watched the NASCAR Race or I should say some of it as I had trouble staying
awake, but watched enough to know what was going on. Cheri finally quit working
around 6:00 pm and fixed pizza for supper. We spent the rest of the evening
watching TV and napping before it was time for me to watch the Green Bay
Packers play.

Cheri
was very busy again today; think she has been through everything that was
packed. Now she has to decide what she is going to keep and what she is going
to get rid of. We just don’t have enough room to keep everything. I know she is
going to have a tough time giving up some of the things we have. Cheri also did
at least five loads of laundry today as well as all week getting everything
clean and fresh from the eight years of being in storage. I was tired and slow
today, worked on putting the mufflers on the motorcycle. Coz had taken them off
his motorcycle to put on some different ones so he gave me the ones he took
off. This afternoon we made a trip to Lowe’s to get some stainless steel bolts
for the motorcycle mufflers and then to Wal-Mart to pick up a few groceries and
I was going to buy a new battery for the motorcycle but they didn’t have one
for my bike. On the way home I stopped at a local motorcycle shop and they
wanted $139 for one. I told them I would have to think about it. I should have
bought one up in Wisconsin as they were $90 there. I finished putting the
mufflers on and decided to bit the bullet and get the one for $139 battery which
is still a lot cheaper then at the Harley dealer. Well when I got back to the
local shop it was closed (closed at 3:00 pm). I went back home and put my tools
away and told Cheri I was done for the day. Cheri continued to work for another
hour before I could get her to quit for the day. It was 55 degrees this morning
but still warmed up to the mid 70’s for a pleasant day.

Today
was pretty much a repeat of yesterday. We are still unpacking and trying to
find a place for everything, running out of places, I think there is going to
be a lot of things that will be looking for a new home. I worked on changing
out the dining room blinds, getting the china hutch into place, adding a top to
it so Cheri could display some things. Next on the list was repairing a broken
table leg on great grandma’s dining room table. Now we have great grandma’s
table in the dining room, we still need to buy some chairs to go with it. Cheri
was busy unpacking her china, washing and putting it in the china hutch. I took
a break this afternoon and went over to the consignment place where we have the
truck and 5th wheel for sale, no luck on selling it and our three
months was up in a couple of days. So I extended the contract for another three
months and lowered the price. Then back to work helping Cheri unpack stuff,
found two more tubs of my tools. We finally quit and had supper around 6:00 pm.
After supper we settled in to watch some TV and relax. At 8:00 pm I got a call
from Mike and wanted to know if I was
ready to do security in the park tonight, I forgot, I thought it was tomorrow
night that we were doing it. I got my nights mixed up (nothing new for me).
Mike picked me up at 9:00 pm and we made our rounds, checked doors, things were
pretty quiet and we were done by 11:00 pm. It was 56 degrees this morning but
warmed to the mid 70’s for a very nice sunny day.

We
are still unpacking and moving furniture around. Cheri has unpacked things that
I didn’t know we had and I am not sure even Cheri knows what she is unpacking.
It just goes to show that material things we packed eight years ago aren’t that
important today. Cheri does have this beautiful china hutch and no place to put
it and planned on putting it in the bedroom and use it for clothes. After some thinking
we took the dining room cornice down and put the hutch in front of the window
and turn the table. It looks really nice and you would never know there was a
window behind it. I got the rest of the trailer unpacked and put in the sun
room. Mike and Mary took our sofa and love seat so now we have more room in the
sun room to move things around and unpack. I put up the new dining room light fixture
that Cheri bought while we were in Wisconsin. This evening we went over to Lowe’s
to get a venetian blind to put up in the window behind the china hutch. I had
the sprinkler going on Bud’s lawn and saw Norm and Marlene out for their walk
so we stopped by for a visit. And by the way the cold weather has reached all
the way to Florida; our high for the day was 60 degrees.

Things
are starting to get back to normal, whatever that is. After Cheri got home from
the pool she wanted to get the chest of drawers in from the sun room so she
could get it cleaned up to get the moth ball smell out of it. I worked most of
the day on the computer trying to get all of our banking moved to our new bank
account, still have some left to do tomorrow. Later this afternoon I mowed Bud’s
lawn and started the sprinkler. Then we went over to United Health to get the
bank draft changed to our new bank. It was going to be an hour before we could
get it done so Cheri thought it would be a good idea for us to go to DQ and get
a Blizzard, it did taste good. I really shouldn’t have got one for myself as I put
on over five pounds from our trip to Wisconsin, but I couldn’t let Cheri eat
one by herself. On our way to DQ Cheri got all excited because she saw a sign
that said Hobby Lobby is coming soon, going to be in the old Sweet Bay grocery
store. We have gotten a few new stores that make the ladies happy but still
waiting for some stores for us men, like a Harbor Freight. When we got home we
moved the chest of drawers into the bedroom so Cheri could make the transfer
from the old one. Cheri also unpacked a few more things that I forgot we had,
almost like Christmas came early.

Cheri
started another load of laundry before she left for her pool exercise; it is
her first day back in the pool since we left for Wisconsin. Her knee has really
been hurting so I hope the pool exercise will help. I headed to Tampa with the
motorcycle this morning to see the doctor about my leg as it is getting worse.
Well I found out that I don’t have the shingles. The doctor took one look at it
and asked if we had cats and I said no, then he asked if I had been working in
the dirt. I had to stop and think back because it has been over a month that I
have been suffering with this and sure enough I had been working in the dirt
when I was putting the pavers in by the shed. He told me that I picked up a parasite
from the dirt. I had gotten the dirt from the flower bed in front of the house
and that is where cats have been doing their business. So now I have some
medication that is supposed to clear it up in seven days. When I got home Cheri
had the bed frame, head board, and foot board that was stored in the trailer
cleaned up and ready to make the change in the bedroom. Then I opened some
windows in the sun room, trying to get the moth ball smell out of the things
that was stored in the trailer. I also put containers of charcoal out; it is
supposed to help absorb the smell. This evening was our Life Group gathering,
another good evening learning about Gods word.

It
was so nice to be able to sleep in our own bed. That was the one thing we
missed while being away. Cheri started laundry and there is a lot of it from
our trip. At 8:45 am I went out and backed the trailer in the carport and while
I was unhooking it my neighbor Mike came over to help. We just started
unloading the U-Haul truck when Mike and Pam came to help and right behind them
was Ron and Sandy, then Mike and Mary came. With all the help the truck was unloaded
and everything put away in the sunroom in short order. Then it was time to
return the U-Haul truck. Cheri followed me over with the van to pick me up, no
problems retuning the truck. Then we headed over to Subway for lunch. After
lunch we went to see Grandma and she said that she got along fine while we were
gone, her friend Carol took her for her doctor’s appointment and for groceries while
we were gone. Then we headed to Wal-Mart so I could return a few things I didn’t
need and to get groceries. On the way home we stopped to turn off the water
that I had started on Bud’s lawn. When we got home Cheri hung out clothes and I
put a few things away. We both had bad headaches so we laid down and took a
nap. It wasn’t long until the door bell rang and it was Norm and Marlene. They
had been gone for a few days and just got back and stopped to see us. While we
were visiting the door bell rang again and it was Mike and Mary, they had fixed
supper and bought it over for us, how nice is that. We had a good visit and got
caught up on the local news. This evening Cheri and I tried to watch some TV
but we both still had our headaches and decide to go to bed. Thank you to everyone
for all the help today.

We
were both up early and we decided that our trip home was more important than
watching the Green Bay Packers play football. The plan had been to stay and
watch the football game and then drive through the night to get home. The other
plan was to leave at 5:00 am on Monday. Both of those plans didn’t make good
since. So we went out for breakfast with Darren and then at 11:00 am we left
and headed for home. We arrived home at 6:15 pm without any problems; everything
went well for the whole trip. As we pulled into Zephyrhills it started to rain
and by the time we pulled up to the house it was pouring, didn’t last long but
was a good soaker. We got home in time to see that last half of the third quarter
and forth quarter of the Packer game. Cheri put a pizza in the oven for supper
and then we crashed into our recliners to watch a little TV before calling it a
night.

Cheri and I didn’t have a good night sleep. Cheri did a lot of tossing and turning making the air mattress bounce. So I got up and went to the couch for the rest of the night. So we were both up early. We went to the Flying Biscuit for breakfast and it was very good, maybe we can go again tomorrow. This afternoon we went to see the movie Runner, Runner. We thought it was a very good movie. Then we came back to Darren’s to watch the Georgia football game. This evening we went out for tacos and then down town to take pictures and ride on the fairest wheel, it is 20 stories high. What a view we got from the top. When we got back to Darren’s we were going to watch the Wisconsin Badgers play but wasn’t able to get it on TV. Well it was time to call it a night anyway. When
we stepped out the door of the motel this morning we were met with a wall of
fog. It was so foggy we couldn’t even see across the parking lot. The motel had
breakfast for us so we eat there and spent some time enjoying the coffee and
visited with a couple from Green Bay that was on their way to Florida for the
winter. We finally got on the road and within a few miles the sun broke through
the fog. Then when we drop down into Nashville we were in fog again and the fog
continued until we started up the mountain. The sun was out, clean and sunny
the rest of the way to Atlanta. We arrived at Darren’s around 2:30 pm, good
timing and the traffic wasn’t bad until we got downtown Atlanta. We called
Darren just before we got there and he met us out in the street to show us
where we could park the truck and trailer. Darren showed us his loft and the
rest of the building which is very nice. Then we went to the Grocery store to
pick up a few things. After
visiting for a while we went out to eat at a Barbeque place, the food was
excellent. Then we headed back to Darren’s. Cheri and I called it a night early
because we didn’t get much sleep last night because the people in the room next
to us was having a party and it was still going at 1:30 am.

We were both up at 5:00 am so we could visit with Nikki before she left for work at 6:00 am. Coz was off for the next 5 or 7 days. We finally got everything together and on the road at 7:50 am. We drove about 40 miles and run into rain for the next 150 miles. Then when we made the turn south at Champaign IL we had a very strong wind out of the west that pushed the U-Haul around. Finally late this afternoon thing settled down and the rest of the 616 miles was a nice drive. We did see a 9 mile back up of traffic going north do to road construction in southern IL; sure glad we were going the other way. We stopped in Cadiz KY at the Super 8 and were in our room by 7:30 pm. We stopped for gas twice and twice at rest areas, the rest of the time was spent in the driver seat, we also eat while driving. We have about 320 miles to go tomorrow to get to Darren’s in Atlanta. Want to get in there before the evening rush hour traffic.

I
was up again at 5:00 am and visited with Coz and Nikki until they left for work
at 6:00 am. I heard Cheri up in the bath room taking a shower little past 6:00
am. I went up to check on her and she put in a terrible night, awake from 2:00
am until 5:00 am and then went to sleep for an hour. Today was the day to meet
Greg and Jeanene for breakfast at 8:30 am. Out of the four of us I was the only
one that got the right breakfast. The waitress and the cook were having problems
and they never did get Greg’s order right. After breakfast we took the rental
car and turned it in, the only problem, there was a sign on the door saying
that they wouldn’t be back until 10:15 am so had to wait for them to return.
Then it was time to go and pick up the U-Hall truck, everything went like clockwork.
We stopped by Coz and Nikki’s to pick up the things we bought while we were
here. Then out to Ray and Espie’s to make the transfer from the cargo trailer
to the truck. There was a mist in the air so some things got a little damp as
we had to take everything out of the trailer before we could start loading the
truck. Things were going long good until I realized the truck wasn’t big
enough. I thought our cargo trailer was ten foot long so I got a ten foot truck;
well the trailer was twelve feet long. You can’t get twelve feet of stuff in a
ten foot truck. So we decided to put the left over stuff in the trailer and
hooked it to the U-Haul truck and bring it to Florida with us. First the ball
hitch was too big but I had another ball the right size but didn’t have a
wrench to remove it from my hitch. After getting a hold of Eespie to give us the
code to get into the garage to get the tools we needed to make the ball
transfer. We would never have gotten everything done without Greg and Jeanene’s
help. They follow us back to Coz and Nikki’s to drop of the U-Hall truck, then
we went to Applebee’s for supper. After supper they took us to Wal-Mart to get
a spare tire for the trailer along with a jack and lug nut wrench. They didn’t
have the tire and had to go to Menard’s for the tire. So I will be stuck with a
$130.00 tire even if we don’t need it. It was 7:00 pm when we finally got back
to Coz and Nikki’s. We said our good byes to Greg and Jeanene, thanks for all
of your help. Coz and Nikki had teacher’s conference at 7:30 pm with Cece; she
is doing really well in school. When they got home we visited for a while and
called it a night as we were tired from our day of work, yes we did work today.

My
new time to get up in the morning is 5:00 am. It seems early here in Wisconsin
but actually it is the same time has I get up in Florida, just a different time
zone. I visited with Coz and Nikki before they left for work at 6:00 am. Cheri
is having a lot of trouble with her knee. It is now to the point she can hardly
walk. She needs to get back to Florida for her pool exercise. I am still
fighting the shingles, not real bad but enough to let me know I have it and it
is uncomfortable. I called this morning to find out where I was supposed to
pick up the U-Hall truck and it is going to be in a different place than I had
asked for. So we drove over to where we are to pick it up and turned out to be
right next door to the restaurant where we are going to meet Greg and Jeanene
Peterson for breakfast. After breakfast they are going to help us transfer stuff
from the cargo trailer to the U-Hall truck. From there we headed to Fox Lake to
visit and go out for lunch with Bill and Barb Mullin, Cheri and Barb use to
work together back in the day. When we left Bill and Barb’s we were headed to
Oshkosh to visit Tom Praxl but when we called we didn’t an answer so we headed
back to Fond du Lac. Cheri and I were both really tired so we took an hour nap
and then went and picked up a Papa Murphy pizza for supper. It sure was good,
we forgot how good their pizza is; wish we had them in Florida. When Coz got
home we played a game of Hand, Knee, and Foot that Cheri and Nikki won. It was
a good day except for the weather, it was rainy, foggy and the damp cold wind
chilled us to the bone. One more day and we can head for warmer weather.

I
was up at 5:30 am again this morning to visit with Coz before he left for work.
I checked the outside temp and not happy with what I saw, it is 33 degrees this
morning. As soon as I saw that I felt cold and went and put on my sweatshirt. This
morning I worked on taking down the kitchen light and putting up the new one,
it took longer than I thought it would, had to do a lot of measuring to get it
just right. Nikki had a couple errands to do so Cheri and I made a trip to
Menard’s to return a set of tire down straps, Coz gave me some he had so I didn’t
need the ones I bought. We stopped at Subway to have a sub for lunch. We got
back to the house about the same time as Nikki and then the three of us went to
Fleet Farm as Nikki had a few things she needed and I returned the bolt
cutters. Then we drove through the park to take a few pictures. Then we headed
home to play a game of Hand, Knee, and Foot. We had to take a break at 3:45 pm
so we could go and watch Cece play volleyball. Her team won all three games
they played. Then back to the game of cards which we finally finished around
7:00 pm, Cheri beat me by less than 200 points. Coz got home around 7:15 pm and
Nikki and Cheri had supper ready for us. Then it was time to settle in and
watch Dancing with the Stars. It was a big surprise on who got voted out.

was up at 5:30 am to visit with Coz before he left for work at 6:00 am. Nikki,
Cheri, and I left at 8:30 am and headed to Boscobel to see my aunt and uncle
which was a two and half hour drive each way. We got to Boscobel at 11:00 am
and there was a store that Nikki and Cheri had to stop at before going to Burl
and Dorothy’s. After visiting for a
while we all went done to the local restaurant for lunch and then back to Burl
and Dorothy’s for more visiting. At 2:30 pm it was time to say our goodbyes and
head out. We did go up to the cemetery to visit Grandpa’s grave and then there
was one more store that Cheri and Nikki needed to stop at before heading home. It
was 6:00 pm when we arrived back home. Coz got home from work around 7:30 pm.
We had a late supper and then sat down to watch the Packer football game that
we had recorded. By the time it was over it was time to call it a night.

(Sorry this is late as I couldn't get it to load this morning before we left the house for the day)
Cheri
and I got a 4:15 am wakeup call this morning. The dog came downstairs to be
with us, it is the first time she has done this. So I got up and took her
outside so she could go potty. So after all the excitement we were both wide
awake so we got up. The rest of the family was slow about getting up this
morning. We did go out for a late breakfast at the local restaurant which was
very good. When we got back to the house Cheri and Nikki went shopping. Coz,
Cece and I went to buy a bolt cutter and then to Ray and Espie’s to cut the
locks off the cargo trailer. When I opened the door I could still smell the
mothballs that we put in the trailer eight years ago which is a good thing. I
couldn’t see much as the trailer is packed full right to the back door and all
the way to the roof. I closed up the door and put a new lock on it and now we
wait until Wednesday to make the transfer to the U-Hall truck. Then we drove
down to Teresa to get some fresh cheese curds. Will they didn’t make any cheese
today so no fresh curds but did buy some that was a day old, not as good. We
still got home before Cheri and Nikki. Coz and I spent the rest of the
afternoon watching the Wisconsin Badgers play football. This evening we had
pork chops on the grill along with corn on the cob. Nikki knows my favorite pie
is cherry and she always makes one for me and it is the best. Coz said it is
the first one she has made since we were here last Oct. We tried to watch the
NASCAR race this evening but couldn’t stay awake until the end. Being we had
such an early start we headed to bed at 9:00 pm.

Coz
and Nikki both left for work at 6:00 am. Coz is working overtime and will have
a shorter day of work and will be done at 2:30 pm. I took Cece to school this
morning which made it nice for Coz. Cheri and I went shopping this morning at
three different second hand stores. One of the stores was in Waupun and we each
found something we had to have. Cheri got some sewing kits and I got a jig saw,
a deal I couldn’t pass up. Then it was time to head onto Randolph to have lunch
with the girls we work with before we retired. It was fun catching up on what
has happened over the last year. Our next stop was Brandon; Cheri found out
that they have a quilt shop there now. So while she was in the quilt shop I
went to Brandon meats to get some beef sticks for snacking and pork chops to
have on the grill. Then we drove over to visit with old friends Doug and
Annette Henker. We had a nice visit with them and they told us that they have
their house up for sale as they aren’t able to keep up with all the outside
work anymore. They plan on moving to Waupun into a condo. Then it was time to
head back to Fond du Lac. Coz, Nikki, Cece, Cheri and I headed to Beaver Dam to
have Chinese for supper. It is one of the places we always go to eat when we
are in Wisconsin. Before we retired it was our favorite place to eat. When we
got back to Fond du Lac we stopped at Menard’s so Coz and Nikki could pick up a
new kitchen light fixture. The ballast burned out in the one they have and was
too expensive to replace so they bought a new one. So my project for tomorrow
is to install the new light fixture. After all was said and done it was time to
call it a night.

front of us. Something you don’t see very often and he looked to be in great
shape. In fact the last one we saw was in Alaska last year. Our first stop was
at Barneveld to see Todd, a good friend that goes back more years than I can
count. We got to visit for a while and then he had an interview with a new
person for an opening he has for a mechanic. After the interview Todd was
really impressed with the guy and hired him on the spot. Then Todd, Cheri and I
went to the local restaurant for a late lunch. At 2:30 pm it was time to head
on down the road. We made one more call to see if Burl and Dorothy was home and
no luck there so we change our route and went to Richland Center to see Ken and
he wasn’t home so we drove across town to see Betty and she wasn’t home either.
Then we called Bruce and Jeanne in Friesland where we used to live. Bruce was
the contractor that built our new house 19 years ago and we remained good
friends over the years. We always try to see them when we are in Wisconsin.
After we had a good visit the four of us headed over to the local supper club
for chicken and dumplings. At 8:30 pm it was time to say goodbye to Bruce and
Jeanne and head for Coz and Nikki’s. It was another good day but sorry we
missed some of the people we wanted to see.

We
spent a nice relaxing day with Kari. She did have to work today but she works
from home so that makes it nice for as we still can do some visiting. At 11:30
am Kari took a break and we went to Snuggery for lunch which is on the river
and it being such a nice day we sat outside in the sun. It was sunny and in the
low 70’s. After lunch we dropped Kari back at home. Cheri and I went and did
some shopping. Our first stop was at the Harley dealer so I could pick up a
poker chip. In the last year I have been collecting them, each on has the
Harley dealers name on the chip. It was something that wouldn’t take up much
room in the 5th wheel. While we were at the Harley dealer Cheri and I
checked out the sales rack and found a pair of pants along with a tee shirt and
hat for me. Then we headed over to Home Depot to pick up some light bulbs for
Kari and a stop at Wal-Mart to get some steaks to grill for supper this evening
along with a crab salad and baked potatoes. This evening we watched some TV and
called it a night.

I
only woke once last night but still having the bad dreams. Plus the Shingles
are getting bad again, may have to see about getting more drugs. I was up at
5:00 am local time which would be my usual time in Florida. We picked up our
rental car at 8:00 am. It is a Toyota Yaris, one of those cars that are so
small you put it on like a jacket and wear it, well it is transportation. We
left Coz and Nikki’s at 9:00 am and arrived at Katherine and Bro’s at 10:30 am.
At 11:00 am we headed downtown Lake Geneva for an early lunch and then back to
their place to visit. Our visit was way too short but when you are on a time
schedule you take what you can get. We left at 1:45 pm and headed to McHenry to
spend the rest of the day and night with Kari. Kari was busy this afternoon
with her web page work and some phone contacts. We went out to eat at my
favorite pizza place (Nick’s) in Crystal Lake. I was so hoping we would be able
to get there for pizza, one more thing done on our trip list of things to do.
Kari doesn’t watch Dancing with the Stars so it was about a quarter over when
we got back to Kari’s. Kari did some more work while we watch Dancing with the
Stars.

I
put in another crappy night. I was up six different times and ended up sleeping
on the couch. Cheri also put in a bad night. I guess old people like their own
bed. So I was up early and did my blog. This morning Coz and I went out to pick
up his sister Espie and the fall colors are beautiful. Ray had to work until
11:00 am and met us at Coz and Nikki’s. We had a Packer party of snacks and
wings. We guys watched the Packers beat the Lions and the girls went shopping.
When the game was over and the girls got home we visited a while before Ray and
Espie left. Then Nikki, Cheri and I went to Menards to shop. I had seen a
couple of things in the flyer that I want to pick up and Cheri even found the dining
room light fixture she wanted, more stuff to haul back to Florida. Coz stayed
home to watch the Cowboys play as it is his favorite football team. When we got
home we play a game of Hand, Knee, and Foot which Coz and I won so now the
score is even. And yes it was a beautiful fall day here in Wisconsin. I got on
line this evening and got a car reserved for tomorrow morning, so we will have
wheels to visit family and friends for the next two weeks.

We
got a call from Marlene at 3:45 am to make sure we were up this morning. Mike
and Mary were to pick us up at 4:30 am and take us to the airport in Tampa.
Well when they came it was the whole gang to take us to the airport, they said
it was a road trip. Our flight left are on time at 6:35 am, an hour later we
were in Atlanta with a two hour wait. Long story short we arrived in Milwaukee
at 11:10 am central time. Coz and Nikki were waiting to pick us up. It was 64
degrees and foggy when we landed. On the way home it started to rain and rained
on and off the rest of the day. We did stop for lunch on the way. Then when we
got to Fond du Lac we were going to rent a car so we could go see Kari tomorrow
for her birthday and to spend a couple of days with her. Well all the car
rental places closed at noon. So Cheri called Kari and told her we would rent a
car on Monday and head down to see her. When we got to Coz and Nikki’s we
visited a while and then went to the grocery store to get a few things for
supper. Then it was time to play Hand, Knee, and Foot. It was a long game and
had to take a break for fresh corn on the cob and chicken on the grill. Cheri
and Nikki did win the card game, Coz and I never had a chance. At 8:30 pm Cheri
and I were ready to call it a day, very tired.

I was awake at 1:00 am unable to sleep. I think it is the drugs I am take
for the Singles. The good thing is they are almost cleared up but still have
the pain and the drugs are almost gone. I did get up and went into the spare
bedroom so I wouldn’t disturb Cheri. I laid there for an hour and then got up
and read, did the blog and got something to eat. I did go back to the spare room
at 4:30 am and did sleep until 6:30 am. At 7:00 am I went in to see Cheri and
she said enough of this getting up in the middle of the night, I guess I woke
her up at 2:00 am and she couldn’t go back to sleep, think it is going to be a
long day for both of us. Cheri went for her pool exercise and I left at 9:00 am
on the motorcycle with my neighbor Mike for a ride Lakeland so he could pick up
a jacket at the Harley dealer. We took a long route and ended up putting on 102
miles. We got back at 1:30 pm after a stop at Subway for lunch. Cheri took
Grandma for her 10:30 am doctor’s appointment and then for groceries. This
afternoon I got our boarding passes and bag check-in done on the internet. We
have to leave the house at 4:30 am in the morning to get to the airport in
Tampa for our flight to Milwaukee. We got a call from our daughter Kari and
have made plans to spend Sunday with her to celebrate her birthday at her place
in McHenry IL. Late afternoon Mike and Mary came over to get our Mum plant and
take it to their place and keep it watered while we are gone. We were to meet
Mike and Pam for supper at Maine-LY New England. We invited Mike and Mary to go
with us and we all had a great meal. Then it was time to go to Baker Acers to
turn off the water on Bud’s lawn. Then we went up to Norm and Marlene’s to
visit and then to Ed and Lorraine’s for a visit. At 7:30 pm I said it was time
for us to get home to get some rest and stopped to pick up our mail and drop
off Mike and Mary. When we got home we started putting finishing touches on our
packing when I discovered I didn’t have my cell phone. I looked around the
house with no luck used Cheri’s phone to call mine and then down by the mail
box no luck there either. So I drove back to Baker Acers to see if maybe I lost
it when I turned off the water at Buds. I used the flash light and check around
and no luck so I tried to call my phone again and there it was lying in the
grass close to where I got out of the van. So the day ends with a happy ending,
now for a few hours of sleep.

It
was another lazy day for us. When Cheri got home from her pool exercise she
started a load of laundry, wanted to have it done for the day. We spent part of
the day getting things together for our trip north on Sat. It has been over
eight years since we took a trip without taking our home with us. So we have
been checking our list a few times and seems like we keep finding things we
need to take with us (probably don’t need half of the stuff). We spent a lot of
the day reading and I also spent time on the internet. I didn’t feel like starting
any projects until we get back from Wisconsin. Late this afternoon our neighbor
came over and wanted to know if I want to take motorcycle ride tomorrow to the
Harley dealer in Lakeland, I couldn’t turn down a motorcycle ride. I was
supposed to take Grandma for her doctor’s appointment tomorrow and Cheri said
she would take Grandma so I could ride, what a wonderful wife I have. This
evening we went over to Baker Acers to water Bud’s lawn and visit with Norm,
Marlene.

While
Cheri was at the pool I went down for the 9:00 am coffee hour to meet with the
park managers. We (security) had a couple of problems we wanted to discuss.
Things didn’t go as smoothly as I that they could have, even I got a little
heated. After all was said and most of the people left Jim Blevins who is ahead
of security and I had a very good discussion with the park manager and was able
to come to a mutual understanding (problem with the security gate and speeding
in the park). After the meeting Jim and I stopped over to see Mike as he was so
upset that he had walked out of the meeting. We had a good talk with Mike and
smoothed things over to make things better for all concerned. It was near noon
before I got home. Cheri and I had lunch and then went to Wal-Mart to get some
groceries and a new bathroom scale. Now I can check my weight again. On the way
to Wal-Mart we stopped by Baker Acers to start the sprinkler on Bud’s lawn. We
managed to kill an hour in Wal-Mart and Lowe’s. Stopped and turned off the
water on the way home. We didn’t do anything this afternoon; I felt very much
at peace this afternoon and didn’t feel like I had to do anything, been a long
time since I felt like felt that way and I liked it. We watched a little TV,
read and did some internet searching. This evening we continued to relax and
watch some of the new fall TV shows.

Well
I guess I need to work harder on my weight lost as the scales LCD leaked and is
no longer for this world, scary, wonders what caused it (think I really know).
It seems like yesterday was the first of September and here it the first of
October already (stupid me you already know it is the first of October). I am not
sure how to tell you about our day so try to follow me. We subscribe to The
Cutting Edge Devotional by Dr Larry Ollison. To learn more check out this link http://www.larryollison.com/sign-up-for-our-emails.
Dr Ollison has been inspirations in our new christen life. We joined a
community church a couple years ago and have met some of the most wonderful new
friends and a life group of friends we can count on being there for us. Dr
Larry Ollison’s devotional had a part about tongues and not really
understanding it I did some searching on the internet which helped some but
still very cloudy. A few minutes later Pam called me to ask a couple of church
questions and I told her about my morning experience. This afternoon Cheri and
I went up to Mike and Pam’s so I could once again try to attach their towel bar
to the glass shower door. This time I used a two part epoxy and the first end
needed to set up for a half hour. Well our disciples Mike and Pam sat down with
us and we had an hour plus Bible lesson on Tongues. It was a very moving experience
for Cheri and me. We may still be a little cloudy but we feel some weight has
been lifted and feel closer to God. Yes I did finish the towel holder and now
we will see if it will stand the test. At 6:30 pm we met Mike and Pam at the
K-Mart parking lot and rode together to our Life Group gathering. Our Life
Group leader was sick today so our gathering this evening wasn’t so filling. But
our time with Pam and Mike earlier today more than filled us. I am not trying
to preach the word, which is something I leave to better people; I just wanted
you to know our experience with our disciples and God. Thank you for letting us
share with you.

It
wasn’t a very good night again, lot of crazy stupid dreams, will be glad to be
over the knee medication. I did have a good day getting things done. After
Cheri left for her pool exercise I headed to Dade City with the motorcycle to
get the Florida license plate, today was the last day to get it done. I had
been putting it off has it cost $156 for the plate and title transfer. The
plate was $45 for each year, due on my birthday and they don’t do any
prorating. Plus they charged me $1.50 to use my debit card which I would think
would be to their benefit. All well enough of that. When I got home I told
Cheri I was going to get the painting done in the house shed before I had lunch
and was done a little after noon. Cheri said that she was feeling down today,
no reason for it, just not interested in doing anything, which was kind of the
way I felt yesterday. This afternoon I continued to work in house shed. I want
to build some wood shelves but need to wait until we get back from Wisconsin so
I put in the plastic ones back in for now; being plastic they won’t hold the
heaver tools that I plan on keeping in there. I got a call this afternoon that
a guy was coming to look at the motorcycle lift that is on the back of the 5th
wheel. I had put it on Craig’s List a couple of times. Well the good news is
after he looked at it and we haggled over the price it is sold, I helped him
remove it from the 5th wheel onto his trailer, made my day complete.
This evening we went over to Baker Acers so I could started the water on Bud’s
lawn and then we visited with Norm, Marlene, Ed, and Lorraine. We got home
right at 8:00 pm so Cheri could watch Dancing with the Stars.
