We want to wish our
daughter Nikki a happy birthday and many more. While Cheri was at the pool I did
some computer work. We even took some time to relax before we headed to the airport
to pick up our daughter Kari. She is flying in from Chicago to spend a long
weekend with us. It has been about three years since she was last here. So it
will be the first time for her to see our new house. Her plane came in at 1:10
pm so we didn’t have lunch until after she got here because we knew she would
be hungry. We stopped on the way home at Bob Evans. It is brand new and just
opened on Monday. There had be a Bob Evans there before but had to be torn down
because it was on a sink hole. We stopped at home to show Kari the house before
going over to Grandma’s. We hadn’t told Grandma she was coming so it was a nice
surprise for her. While we were in Baker Acers we also stopped for a short
visit with Betty Unbehaun. This evening we had a late supper of pizza because
of the late lunch today. We watched TV and Kari had computer work to do. Kari
has her own business designing web pages and is able to work from anywhere she
can get an internet connection.

It was a busy day around
the Sharp house today. Cheri was busy with house cleaning and laundry that she
didn’t get done yesterday. I told her I would help her by getting out of the
house so that I would be in her way. I spent all forenoon and part of the
afternoon cleaning up my work area outside, something that should have been
done a long time ago. Cheri even had to come out and see how much better it
looks. I have a lot of left over lumber from projects and got it all to gather
in one spot but hard to see what I have. I thought I should have a rolling
lumber rack. I check them out on the internet, found several different plans on
how to build one. I think that will be my next project. Late afternoon I worked
on the motorcycle putting on a new rear brake/tail light. I had put an
additional brake light on a few years ago and was happy with it until I saw the
one that Larry put on his bike which was much brighter. Mike had bought one to
put on his bike and then decide not to do it so I bought it from him. I am very
happy with the way it turned out. When I came in the house Cheri was busy in
the sewing room cutting out material for the Christmas tree skirt. We had some
things that we didn’t use in our bathroom project so we headed to Home Depot to
return. Cheri had a coupon for Wendy’s so we stopped there for supper.

I woke up at 3:00 am and
couldn’t get back to sleep; my mind wouldn’t slow down so got up around 4:00
am. I did get all my computer work done early and had a lot more time to do
Bible study. Cheri headed for the Pool for exercise and I got the motorcycle
out and ready for a ride. Late yesterday I got an e-mail from Mike T and said
that he said that Norm was back and wanted to go for a ride. Mike said that he
couldn’t go on Wednesday but was free on Thursday and Friday. Well that wouldn’t
work for me as Tuesday and Wednesday were the only days I was free. Long story
short we went for a ride today. It was my turn to lead and quickly planed a
ride to Crystal River with a stop at the Harley dealer and then we took highway
44 to the end of the road on the Gulf. We left at 10:00 am and near 5:00 pm and
187 miles later when we arrived home. It was a perfect day for the ride. Cheri
went and got groceries for Grandma. Grandma asked about her medicine and Cheri
told her that it was too early for a refill. She didn’t have enough medicine to
last until the refill so Cheri called Wal-Mart and was able to get it refilled
early. So Cheri had to make another trip to get that done didn’t leave her much
time for the things she wanted to get done today. This evening we were invited
to the Honda dealership where we bought our new car. They had a party for new
car buyers. They told us about their dealership on how they are going to take
care of us and gave us a lot of good tips on how to take care of our car. Also
let us know about all the perks that Honda has for us. It was a good time and
learned a couple of things about our car that I wasn’t aware of.

I dropped Cheri off at the
pool this morning because I needed the car to take Grandma for her doctor’s
appointment. It was late morning when I returned home, spent the rest of the
morning doing computer work. Cheri was in the sewing room this morning redoing
her art work that she had started, didn’t like the way it came out the first
time. This afternoon Cheri went shopping with Mary and I worked outside
cleaning the rain gutters, leaves are coming down and most of them end up in
the rain gutters. I also did some power washing on part of the drive way, plus
more cleaning outside of the shop where I do most of my projects. Another day
or two I should have everything cleaned up and ready for a new project. This
evening Mike and Mary came over to watch Dancing with the Stars. Once again
Michael Waltrip didn’t get voted off. He should have been gone a long time ago.
He just hangs on because he has a large race car following. Next week he will
be gone but I have said that the last few weeks.

Pretty cool this morning
by Florida standards, 53 degrees. Once again we picked up Grandma and went to
Dade City for church. We like it so much that we can feel Gods calling us to
attend there. We enjoy the Sunday school after the message, something that we
were missing at CPC church plus they have a Wednesday night bible study which
we need to check into. After church we went to ABC Pizza for lunch along with
Mike and Pam. It was so good last week we decided to go back today. When we got
home I settled in to watch the NASCAR race. Cheri headed to the sewing room. No
supper tonight because of the big lunch today. We watched a couple of shows we
had recorded before Sunday Night Football. The Green Bay Packers were playing the
Saints. The first half was very good with a tied game but the second half went
all wrong for the Packer as they lost big time. Cheri was a good sport and
stayed up and watched it with me along with playing solitaire on her I-Pad.

Cheri went to Wal-Mart to
get groceries and pick up some felt pads for the bottom of the fan base I am
building. She said that the snow birds are defiantly back as it was so busy
that she had a hard time getting around. After that she was done for the day.
Mike asked me if I wanted to go for a motorcycle ride and of course I couldn’t
turn it down. We left at 10:00 am and took the long way to the Harley dealer in
Newport Richey. Mike had a head light replacement for his bike that didn’t work
and so they had ordered a new one for him and it was in. We were going to stop
for lunch before we got to the dealer but didn’t find a place that was easy to
get into with the bikes so we decided to wait until we got done at the Harley
shop. It was a good thing we waited because they had free hotdogs and
hamburgers at the Harley shop. We had a good ride and were home around 2:30 pm
and had rode 124 miles. I found Cheri relaxing and watching TV. I worked on the
fan base and got it done, look pretty good. Mike and Kathy came over to play
cards tonight. It is the first time we have played cards with them. So we taught
them how to play Hand, Knee, and Foot. Mike like it but Kathy not so much. I
think it was because Mike and I won.

While Cheri was at the
pool with Mary, Mike and I took a load of old lumber to the transfer station to
get rid of it. Most of it was Mikes and I was able to get rid of the old
bathroom counter top. After we got back Cheri and I went for haircuts, you can
tell that the snow birds are back as we had to wait awhile for our haircuts.
After lunch I worked on Cheri’s bathroom fan base and also made a picture frame
for Cheri as she is going to do a painting on fabric and then stretch it over
the frame. Cheri made a trip to Jo-Ann Fabrics this afternoon to get more
material for her Christmas tree skirt. Mike and Pam came over to check out our
new bathroom and then we went out for dinner at Panera breads. We had a nice
quiet area where we could visit while eating. At 6:00 pm it was time for Cheri
and me to leave and head to church to see the Strength Team. They put on quite
the show of breaking blocks of concrete and bending steel. They also gave their
life testimony story on how they became a Christen. It was around 8:30 pm when
we got home and then it was time to get ready and do security in the park. It was
cooler than we thought and I to return home to get a heavier jacket. So you can
see we had a pretty busy day. I said I would post before and after pictures of
the bathroom. Well the only before pictures I have are some I took of the house
before we bought it.

Cheri was busy doing her
Thursday house work and got it all done before noon. I worked outside doing
more cleaning and sorting in the shop, at least I got most of the stuff put
away. I also got the flower beds weeded and ant deterrent on the ant mounds, I
say deterrent because I don’t think it kills them only make them come up in a
different spot. I did get the towel rack done and put back up, looks pretty
good. Cheri has clamp on fan that she uses in the bathroom and doesn’t look
very nice with the clamp screwed to the wall. So after lunch I went to Lowe’s
to dream and see what I could use to make a stand for it. I did come up with an
idea so I bought some PVC pipe and some lamp parts. When I got home I went
right to work on fan project. Cheri went shopping at a fabric shop here in
Zephyrhills and came home with some fabric that she can use for her Christmas
tree skirt. Cheri made Jambalaya for dinner, really good and enough for another
meal. That pretty much sums up our day along with some TV this evening.

Not much going on today.
This forenoon Cheri was busy cleaning house and laundry. I was doing some honey
dew jobs, rebuilding a picture frame and hanging it after Cheri got things put
into it. It started out as a regular picture frame and I turned it into a three
dimensional frame so she could display the sea shells and sea horse she found
on the beach. The afternoon was spent outside cleaning in the shop and painting
on the towel rack. Cheri went to Hobby Lobby to look for material for her next
project and came back empty handed, said that they didn’t have any Christmas
material. Guess that means another road trip looking for Christmas material.
This evening we made the trip to Jersey Mike’s to use our last coupon. We
printed and extra coupon and took Mike and Mary with us. After wards we stopped
to see the work Mike and Mary have been doing in their place and are almost
done and ready to sell. Then they came over to see our new bathroom.

I was up early this
morning for some reason I didn’t have a good night sleep. I did a bunch of
computer work this morning and then took Grandma for her doctor’s appointment.
While I was doing that Cheri did her usual Tuesday house work. It was 12:30 pm
when I got home. Had a quick lunch and headed down to the Rec hall for the 1:00
pm security meeting. Cheri wanted to go shopping today but later said that she
wasn’t going. I think she really wanted to go but didn’t want to drive. The security
meeting didn’t last long so when I got home I said that I would drive if she
wanted to go shopping. I think we went to every store in Lakeland that sold
bathroom mats. She was trying to match some towels that she has and did find
some floor mats that were a close match. I did find a new light jacket at Burlington
Coat Factory. My old one was looking pretty bad, not sure how old it was but I
am sure it must be over ten years. It was 5:30 pm when we arrived back home. We
still had a coupon for Jersey Mike’s so off we went and when we got there Ron
and Sandy was there with their grandson, nice surprise, didn’t have much time
to visit because Ron was headed for a Life Group meeting. We still have one
more Jersey Mike’s coupon for tomorrow night. Wonder who we will see? In
between our in and out at home today I did manage to spray coats of paint on a
couple of the towel bars, Got three done and four more to do.

No work today as Mike T
asked me if I want to go for a motorcycle ride. He had a 10:00 am appointment
to have a new tire put on his bike so we had to be on the road by 9:00 am to
make the appointment. From there we rode over to the Chrome Shop as Mike wanted
to get some more chrome bolt caps for his bike. We stopped at Wendy’s for lunch
and then a nice long ride home though a lot of curvier roads, the kind of roads
that are great for motorcycle riding. We put on 139 miles and arrived home
around 3:00 pm, a perfect day for riding. After Cheri got home from her pool exercise
class she went next door to see if Kathy wanted to go shopping. She wasn’t able
to go as she had a doctor’s appointment. Cheri was telling her about our bathroom
project so she came over to see it. Cheri ended up going shopping by herself
and got home about five minutes after I did. She bought some accessories for
the bathroom, the floor mats she bought didn’t work out so she will be
returning them and looking for more. She is having trouble finding the right
color. Pam had sent us an e-mail about a coupon for Jersey Mike’s Subs. So I
printed it out and told Cheri to call Pam to see if they wanted to meet us
there for dinner. Cheri got Pam’s voice mail and left a message. We waited an
hour and didn’t hear anything form Pam so we headed over to Jersey Mike’s and
there was Mike and Pam. She said that she had left her phone at home and didn’t
get Cheri’s call. So we ended up having dinner together anyway, how nice is
that. Tonight was Dancing with the Stars and Cheri is very unhappy that Michael
Waltrip didn’t get voted off. She thinks he should have been the first one gone
for the season and I agree with her. He just hangs on because he has a large
race car following.

We along with Grandma went
to church in Dade City again as we were so impressed with the message and
Sunday school last week. Pastor Randy had e-mailed his message notes to me so I
could print them out for Grandma. I also had copied the Sunday school lesson
for Grandma and the wife of the Sunday school leader had copied his notes so
Grandma could fallow along. Mike and Pam also attended church and Sunday school
with us. After wards we all went to ABC Pizza for lunch. They had a very good
buffet for $6.95. After we dropped off Grandma we took a ride back up to Dade
City to see if we could find the new property where the new church is going to
be built. I think we found the right spot but not for sure. When we got home I
settled in to watch the Packers and the NASCAR race. Cheri said that she was
going shopping. I was really enjoying the Packers football game and before it
was over the network switched to a different game because it was such a lob
sited game with the Packers winning; I wasn’t very happy about that. So then I watched
the NASCAR race that I had recorded. Cheri was home within a couple of hours
and had bought a couple of things for the bathroom. It was another blessed day
that God made for us.

It was another productive
day in the Sharp house. Cheri made pancakes for breakfast which means no lunch
today but will have an earlier dinner. Cheri finished the art work in the
bathroom and I finished the electrical and door trim. All that is left to do is
some is the decorating which is Cheri’s project. I still have to paint the
towel rack and trim around the shower doors which might take me a while as I
have to remove the shower doors and trim because I will spray paint them. I got
most of my tools back in the shop, going to take another day to get everything
back in its place and cleaned up. I washed the car this afternoon which should
have been done a week ago. Being the weather is cooler and the air is drier it
makes working outside much nicer. I like the fall weather but not shorter
days. When Cheri gets done with decorating
the bathroom I will post pictures. I have been informed that the bathroom mats
she bought have to be returned as they aren’t the right color. Yep she needs to
go shopping.

It was a beautiful fall
day with drier air and low 80’s. Cheri went for her pool exercise and said the
water was perfect; she had the pool all to herself. I have skipped my exercise
all week, wanting to get an earlier start on the bathroom (really just being
lazy). We had a good day working in the bathroom. I started hanging the cabinet
doors and found that I was short one set of hinges so Cheri went to Lowe’s to
get me one more set. It was noon when I got done with the doors. This afternoon
I worked on getting the back splash cap installed. Cheri cleaned up the
bathroom and started with her art work on the wall. She is going to paint a
large palm tree. I got her wall cabinet hung
and then I went to Lowe’s to get some new handles for it and a trim strip for
where the new floor meets the carpet. I was going to paint the wall switches
black but decided that it would be better to have new ones. When I got home
Cheri had the outline of the palm tree done and ready to paint. We both decided
we had done enough for the day. This evening we took a ride up to Mike and Pam’s
to drop off our Sunday school lesson that we will be doing this Sunday. Then we
made a stop at Walgreens for some Blue Bell ice cream that they had on sale.
Cheri and I think Blue Bell is the best ice cream made and of course it cost
more and have to buy it when we find it on sale. The rest of the evening was
spent with the TV and a bowl of ice cream.

Cheri was busy doing house
work today, Laundry, dusting, and washing windows, along with many other
things. I did get the bathroom vessel sink installed along with the water fall faucet.
We made a trip to Lowe’s to get some plumbing supplies so I could hook up the
new sink drain. I also needed some electric outlet covers that they didn’t
have. It was lunch time when we got home so after lunch I got the drain hooked
up and the back splash cap trim cut and a couple of coats of paint on it. It
was 4:00 pm when we got done and I told Cheri we could go out to Wendy’s for
supper because I wanted to go to Home Depot to get the electrical outlet
covers. We also made a stop to check on Larry and Denise’s house. When we got
home I put on another coat of paint on the back splash cap. After all of that
it was time to settle in for an evening of TV. I have been asked about pictures
of the bathroom. I usually take pictures of the ongoing project but I didn’t do
it this time. I will post a before and after pictures when we get done.

It started raining around
5:00 am and made for a nasty morning although it didn’t last that long but was
cloudy and damp, no sun until later this afternoon. I had a fasting lab this
morning so Cheri and I went out for breakfast at the Breakfast Station after my
lab. I was tired and had to push myself to get anything done today. I knew it
was going to be one of those days that I wouldn’t see much headway. I cleaned
up the edges of the back splash and getting it ready for Cheri to do the touch
up paint. I also painted three pieces of material that we plan on using for the
back splash cap. Cheri picked the one she thinks will be the best. I want to
use black electrical receptacles and the existing ground fault receptacle is
ivory. They are too expensive to replace so I spray painted it black and it came
out looking good. I went to find Cheri to tell her I was ready for her to do
the touch up painting and found her in the sewing room making another purse.
She had told me that she was done making purses, said that she had to make one
out of a pair of old denim pants. I did the lay out for the new vessel sink and
have the counter top marked for the holes I need to drill for it and the faucet.
I will wait until tomorrow to do that as I want to recheck it in the morning as
I get only one shot at getting it right.

Cheri headed to the pool
with Mary but had to cut short her exercise class as I needed the car to take
Grandma for her doctor’s appointment at 9:45 am. Everything was pretty much on
time and she got a good report. I was home by 11:00 am and ready to start the
grouting on the bathroom back splash. Cheri was busy making a palm tree pattern
to paint on the bathroom wall when we get everything else done. It was near
noon when I got things ready for the grouting and a good time for lunch. While
I was doing the grouting Cheri went grocery shopping for Grandma. I had the
grouting done around 3:00 pm but still had to wipe the tile down a few times
after the grout set up. We relaxed the rest of the day and around 5:00 pm we
had a rain storm come though and then it settled into a drizzle the rest of
evening. I checked the rain gauge and we received just under a 1 ½ of rain.

After Cheri and Mary did
their pool exercise they thought that they needed to go shopping again today.
Cheri had a store that she wanted to show Mary, anything for a chance to go
shopping. I worked in the bathroom again today. I finished getting the new
floor laid. I got such a nice fit that I didn’t have to have any base molding,
just laid a bead of caulking. I did have to make a trip with the motorcycle
over to Lowe’s to get the caulking, a wax ring, and water shut off for the
toilet. I was taking a late lunch break when Cheri came home and she hadn’t had
any lunch either so our timing was good. Then it was time to get the toilet reinstalled.
By the time I finished with the toilet it was a little after 4:00 pm, a good
stopping point for the day. This evening Mike and Mary came over to watch
Dancing with the Stars. They bought munchies with them so I guess you could say
we had a Dancing with the Stars party. It was another good day that God made
for us.

Will today was far
different from our usual Sunday. There was going to be a guest speaker at
church and there wouldn’t be any print out for Grandma so she was going to
church with her friends in the park. Cheri and I headed to Dade City to attend
the First Baptist church. We stopped at the reception desk to get some
information and we were introduced to Mel and Jan Hughes who is snow birds from
Pennsylvania and this was their first day back. They asked us to sit with them.
The message was from the book of Romans. Why Wrath? Rationalization &
Religion. After the service Mel and Jan took us over to another building for Sunday
school. They had a food and coffee along with visiting before Sunday school. We
were given a study guide on Hebrews. Mel let us use his bible for the class;
there were around 35 to 40 people in class. We had a nice visit with Mel and
Jan after Sunday school. We left filled with the spirit of God and new friends.
On the way home we stopped at Jersey Mike’s Subs and got our free sub. This
afternoon it was Packer football for me and the NASCAR race that I had
recorded. Cheri was in the sewing room making a pattern of a large palm tree
that she wants to paint on the bathroom wall. She did watch some of the
football game with me while playing on her I-Pad. Mike and Mary stopped over
this evening for a visit.

Cheri said that she was
going to go shopping today and wanted me to fill the car with gas. According to
the gage in the car there was enough gas to go 84 miles. I am not sure where
she was going to go but did fill it up for her and told her she could now go
435 miles. Mike T and I went for a motorcycle ride over to New Port Richie to a
big bike fest they were having a short distance from the Harley dealer. Mike led
the ride which was nice. We took a lot of back roads going over. Our first stop
was the Harley dealer where they had free hamburgers, hot dogs, pop corn, and
drinks. They also had a band playing music, not sure if I would call it music
but they were making a lot of noise. After a couple of hamburgers we rode over
to the park where the vendors were along with three more bands. We got to see
some precession riding on how to make tight slow turns. We also watch a couple
of guys doing trick riding; have seen a lot on TV but this is the first time
seeing it in person. After checking out the vendors it was time to head home.
It was a hot ride home, put on 140 miles. I was hot and sweaty and ready for a
shower. Cheri was home and happy about her finds while shopping. This evening
Ron and Sandy came over as we were going out for dinner at Uncle Mike’s Smoke
House south of Plant City. None of us had been there before but heard from some
friends that it was good. We weren’t disappointed and plan on going back again.
We had a nice visit with Ron and Sandy. When we got home I settled in to watch
the Wisconsin Badgers that I had recorded and Cheri settled in with her I-Pad.
It was another wonderful day that God made for us to enjoy time with friends.

The back splash needs to
dry for another 24 hours before I can do the grouting so I thought it would be
a good time to start on the new flooring. It was almost noon before I had the
old floor prepared for the new floor. It was a good time to take a break for
lunch. Cheri helped me some with the flooring when I needed an extra hand. Otherwise
she spent the day in the sewing room. I think she is working on a Christmas
tree skirt. The new floor is a vinyl snap and lock, each panel is 1 foot by 2
feet. Almost every panel had to be cut to fit. I had a lot of trouble getting
them to snap and lock tight. So I used some of Cheri’s dish soap to lube the
joints and everything went together a lot easier. I quit at 5:00 pm, just too
tired to do anymore. I am about 90% done. After dinner we watch TV until 9:00
pm and then we did security in the park until 11:00 pm. It was a quiet evening
so we quit early. It was a clear evening with the temp in the low 70’s plus we
had beautiful full moon. I tried to tell Cheri it was just a lover’s stroll around
the park, I don’t think she bought it.

Cheri said that she didn’t
have much energy today but it didn’t stop her from doing her house work and
spending time in the sewing room. She finished another purse today, said that
she is done making purses and ready to start on something different, thinking
about a Christmas Tree Skirt. I skipped my exercise this morning because I
wanted to get an early start in the bathroom today. I got the back splash tiles
installed; have to wait 24 to 48 hours before I can do the grouting. It was
near 3:15 pm when I got done and too tired to start anything else. Cheri fixed
leftover Lasagna for dinner, it always taste better the next day, seems to have
more flavor. We started watching TV early this evening as we have so many shows
recorded that we need to watch. But that didn’t work out as well as we both had
trouble staying awake and end up in bed early this evening.

No work for us today as it
was a play day for me and a shopping day for Cheri. I left at 10:00 am for a motorcycle
ride with Mike T and Norm. They have only been back from the north for a few
days and this was our first ride the season. It is sure nice to have somebody
to ride with again, been a long summer with no one to ride with. We rode north
and stopped at the chrome shop and then lunch at McDonald’s. Then we made a
stop at a motorcycle shop where Norm took a couple of test rides on Harley Road
Kings. He has been thinking about buying a Harley. We put on 123 miles and got
home around 3:30 pm. Cheri had gone shopping with Mary and had gotten home a
short time before me. When I came in she was making Lasagna and garlic bread
for dinner. She said that she invited Mike and Mary over for dinner. Mike has
gotten into checking old coins for his son in Maine who has a coin shop. So
Cheri got out our old coins and he check through them but didn’t find anything
that was worth a whole lot.

Cheri helped me set the
new counter top in place. Before fastening it down I check to see how the back
splash tiles were going to fit. I was going to have to cut ¼ of an inch off all
the tiles between the counter top and the mirror. So I decided to raise the
counter top a ¼ inch so I wouldn’t have to cut the tiles which would be a lot
easier. I also decided to do some more electrical work and had to go to Lowe’s
to get the materials to raise the counter top, another cut in electrical box,
and a different color of grout. When Mike and Mary were here last night Mike
talked us into getting a different color grout, said that we needed to pull the
grout color from the counter top. Long story short the electrical work is done
and the counter top is installed and ready for the back splash. It was already
mid afternoon and thought that it would be better to start the install in the
morning when I would have a full day to work on it. This evening we met Mike
and Pam at Jersey Mike’s Subs. It is a new sub shop that just opened and
thought it would be a good time to try it out. I check to see if there were any
coupons on the internet but found none. On the way we stopped to pick up our
mail and there in the mail was a coupon for a free sub, talk about good timing.
The subs were excellent but very pricey. After we eat we went to Mike and Pam’s
to play some games. First we played Hand, Knee, and Foot and Cheri and Pam won
big time. We played two games of Aggravation which we guys got to win one game.
Then we played a game of SOB which Cheri won. It was a great evening to spend
with friends.

It was a little warmer
this morning, more to my liking. Cheri said it was nice to have Mary back for
the morning pool exercise. We want to wish our daughter Kari a happy birthday.
We tried calling her three time and left a message each time and she finally
called us back this evening. She said that she is doing well and busy with her
web design work. Cheri spent most of her day in the sewing room making another
painted purse project. She seems to be having a lot of fun making them, not
sure what she plans on doing with all of them. I continued working in the
bathroom. I decided to put in an additional electric outlet, had to make a
quick trip to Lowe’s to get a cut in electrical box, turned out to be a bigger
job then I thought it would be. Then I sanded the plaster and did some
painting. Later this afternoon we went to Home Depot and picked up the back
splash and materials to install it. After all was said and done it was 4:00 pm
and decided to quit for the day. Mike and Mary came over this evening to watch
Dancing with the Stars with us because they don’t have a TV here. They bought
ice cream, chips, and peach/mango salsa, all very good.

The cold weather has
reached us here in Florida; it was only 57 degrees this morning. It is the
coldest morning we have had this season, about ten degrees colder than normal. We
picked up Grandma for church today. I was really disappointed in church today.
Pastor Dean delivered the message by video. It is very hard to get into the
spirit of being in church when you sit and watch a video message (could have
stayed home and watched a church service on TV). Also there wasn’t any printed
message for Grandma so she was lost and didn’t know what was going on. The only
good thing that happened was we got to spend time with our Christian friends
after church for lunch. This afternoon I did a little plaster work in the
bathroom and Cheri was in the sewing room. Later when I was watching the NASCAR
race, Cheri came out to show me another painted purse project she just
finished.

Cheri had some errands to
run this morning plus she had to go to Wal-Mart to pick up Grandma’s medicine. I
went to work on the bath room and got the old counter top and sink removed. It
is going to be unhandy as we will be using the main bath room until I get the
new counter top and sink installed. I had to build a wall frame for the new
counter top as the old one wasn’t done right. With Cheri’s help we got the new
counter top fitted and ready to install. I used the old counter top for a
pattern to cut the new one but still had to take it back outside four times
before I had it cut for a good fit. Cheri also painted the inside of the vanity
which was a lot easier with the top off. I also got the rest of the floor cleaned up where
the old quarter round was and now it is ready for the new flooring. Cheri also
worked in the sewing room and finished making another purse, this one has a
hand painted picture on it, she is so creative.

Cheri and I didn’t do any
exercise this morning; we just tired and not wanting to do it. Cheri did
laundry and house cleaning before she settled in the sewing room, she is doing
some fabric painting. I worked in the bathroom and got the vanity top loosened
up and ready to remove. Then I took the quarter round up around the floor to
get it ready for the new flooring. Cheri cleaned up the miss I made removing
the quarter round and chalking. After lunch I took Grandma for her B-12 shot. On
the way back home Mike and Mary follow me into the park and over to our place. They
told us that they have moved back here for a week to finish up the remodel of
the house here. It was hard for them to get much done in a day when they had at
least three hours of travel time. At 3:00 pm we met Mike G over at Lowe’s as he
is going to haul our new bath room counter top home for us. At times like this
I miss having the van to haul materials. It was after 4:00 pm when we got home
and we had enough for the day.

After Cheri and I got done
with breakfast, coffee, and exercise we headed out for a day of shopping. Our
first stop was Lowe’s to return the vanity lights that wouldn’t work for us.
Then a stop at Larry and Denise’s to check the house. Then on to Home Depot to
check what they had for capping the back splash in the bathroom, didn’t find
anything there. The next stop was Ron and Sandy’s to drain off more water from
their pool. It was almost lunch time so we stopped at Wendy’s in Wesley Chapel
as Cheri had a coupon, had a good lunch for around eight dollars. I had checked
on the internet for a tile and back splash store and found one in Tampa, so
that was our next stop. We still didn’t find anything that would work for our
back splash but did check out some vinyl snap and lock flooring that we could
use in the bathroom. From there we headed to IKEA to look for some art work to
set in the window of our bathroom. When we went through the model home on Marco
Island Cheri saw that done and thought that something like it would look good
in our bathroom. No luck on that but we did buy the chocolate bars and cinnamon
rolls (something we always buy when we stop there). The next stop was Old Time
Pottery in Brandon as Cheri remembered seeing art work there. They did have
some but nothing that was the right size or what Cheri liked. Next was Lumber Liquidators
in Plant City. I had found some vinyl snap and lock flooring on the internet
that looked like something that would work for us. Well sure enough they had
something we both liked so we bought it. Our next and last stop was Jo Ann Fabrics;
Cheri needed a couple of things for the projects she is working on. It was
after 5:00 pm and over a hundred mile later before we got home. After dinner we
settled in for and evenings of TV as the Packers were playing the Vikings. The
Packers are playing better or the Vikings were really bad, I would like to
think that the Packers were better.

It rained during the night
and continued to rain until late in the afternoon. For the most part it was
just a drizzle. We got a call last night from Norm and Marlene and they are
going to be in town today and want to get together to go out for lunch. They
have a mold issue in the place that is for sale in Baker Acers. We told them to
let us know when they get to the house and we would come and help them clean.
Cheri picked out the vanity light globes she wanted to use, so I got them put
up with the new led light bulbs, really happy with the way it turned out. Cheri
got her Wednesday house work done. At 11:00 am we still hadn’t heard anything
from Norm and Marlene so we took a ride over to Baker Acers and they were there
cleaning. We told them that we would help but was about done and didn’t want to
bother us. So they took a break and we visited for a while. They said that they
would come over when they got done so that they could clean up. They had called
Mike and Mary and they will meet at our place and then go out for lunch at
Golden Correl. After a nice visit and catching up it was time to say our
goodbyes. It was around 3:00 pm when we got home and decided it was too late to
start anything. We finally got to see some sun shine around 3:30 pm but then
more rain this evening.

It was an off and on again rainy day which didn’t bother me as I was
working inside today. Cheri got a call from Pam this morning wanted to know if
she wanted to go shopping. Yep an hour later Pam was here to pick her up. I
worked in the bathroom all day. I had to cut in some new electrical boxes for
the new vanity lights which also met that I had some plastering and painting to
do. While I was waiting for the plaster and paint to dry I cleaned up the
exhaust fan that I had removed last week and got it reinstalled. I also removed
the heating and air conditioning vent and painted it. I did get the vanity
lights installed and look nice. When we bought the vanity lights we wanted to
get LED bright white bulbs. They only had four and we needed six so we ended up
buying florescent bulbs. After putting in two of them I wasn’t happy because
they have to warm up before they give off full light, so later this afternoon I
returned the unopened ones to Home Depot. From Home Depot I drove over to Ron
and Sandy’s to check their house as they are gone for a few days. We have been
getting a lot of rain so I needed to drain some of the water from their pool.
It was after 4:00 pm when I got home. Cheri got home around 5:30 pm with a
bunch of bags of things she bought. After dinner we went to Lowe’s to get some
LED light bulbs. We also checked out the back splashes and flooring, still not completely
sure what we are going to do. It was near 7:30 pm when we got home and I had
enough for the day.
