We couldn’t lounge around
this morning as we had to be on our way 9:00 am to Tampa for my doctor’s appointment.
I got in a little before my appointment time and was out by 10:15 am. We
stopped to fill the car with gas as the computer said that we could only go 24
miles and the low fuel light came on. We were home by 11:30 am. Cheri fixed us
a salad for lunch and then I headed for the recliner as I was having some pain,
think it was from the doctor changing the dressing. Cheri spent most of the
afternoon in the sewing room. She has been making table runners. Late this
afternoon we watch Killing Jesus which we had recorded. We were disappointed the
way it was presented, and then was told by Pam that it was historically done by
facts that can be proved. The Bible is
proof enough for us. This evening I was able to stay awake to watch Dancing
with the Stars with Cheri. She was happy to see Hamburger girl get voted off. I
really don’t know her name but remember she did a hamburger ad for the Super
Bowl. It is going to be another night in the recliner.

I was woke up at 6:00 am
by the clock that chimes on the hour starting at 6:00 am but went back to sleep
until 7:00 am when it chimed again waking me up. So I turned on the TV and
watched Good Morning America without getting out of the recliner. I finally got
up at 8:00 am and made a pot of coffee and then checked on Cheri who wasn’t in
any hurry about getting around this morning. Cheri made waffles for breakfast
and just lounged around until 10:00 am and then finally showered and shaved. Cheri
headed to Wal-Mart to pick up medicine for Grandma and a few things for us. I
did some Bible study while she was gone trying to get ready for our Bible study
class on Thursday. We once again pasted on going to church, just wasn’t feeling
up to it. Cheri spent the afternoon in the sewing room and I watched the NASCAR
race. I am not seeing any improvement in the foot, will find out more tomorrow
as I have a doctor’s appointment. I feel like I should be further along in my recovery.

Mother Nature is playing
tricks on us again as it was 46 degrees this morning and a high for the day in
the low 60’s. I guess it really doesn’t make any difference to me has I am tied
to the recliner. The last couple of days I haven’t seen any improvement which
is not to my liking. I am bored and my attention span is very short. I did manage
to do some Bible study while Cheri went shopping in Dade City at the quilt
shop. They were having a one day sale of 30% off of everything. She picked up
Betty and headed out for a few hours. When Cheri got home she spent the
afternoon in the sewing room. Pam and Mike stopped over to visit and see how I
was doing. I also got a call from our next door neighbor checking on me. I
napped and watched the NASCAR truck race. I also watched the last few minutes of
the Wisconsin game and have made it to the final four. Go Wisconsin!! At 10:00 pm Cheri headed for bed and I to
spend another night in the recliner. At 11:00 pm I turned the TV back on and
watched until 2:00 am. Good night or maybe I should say good morning.

Normally my weeks pass
very quickly but that has not been the case this week. I did get a good night’s
sleep in the recliner, feeling some better this morning. I even did some
hobbling around the house without the crutches. But I must have over done that
because my foot started to hurt more than it should have. So it was back to the
recliner to relax. Larry and Denise came at 2:00 pm as we were headed to
Lakeland for Chinese at Ling’s to celebrate Denise’s birthday. We took our car
and Larry drove. On the way home we had to make a stop at Jo-ann fabrics as
Denise needed a couple things for a project she is working on. When we got back to our place we played one
game of Hand, Knee, and Foot which Larry and I won. Larry and Denise left early
as I need to get back in the recliner and get my foot elevated. The rest of the
evening was spent watching TV. It was a gloomy day with rain at times and when
it did rain it came down really hard. I can’t get out to check the rain gauge
but I would guess we must have got at least an inch and a half. When the rain
did come this afternoon the temp dropped 20 degrees, supposed to be much cooler
tomorrow.

I put in a terrible night.
I tried to sleep in bed but that lasted only about an hour and I was up and
back to the recliner. I couldn’t get comfortable, my lower back was hurting,
ended up watching TV until after 2:00 am and finally got to sleep. I was awake
at 6:00 am and tried to go back to sleep but couldn’t make it happen so got up.
Cheri took Grandma for her doctor’s appointment this morning and it was near
noon before she got home. I took a morning nap while she was gone. This
afternoon Cheri got me loaded into the car and we went for haircuts and then
back home. Cheri did some house work and laundry and then spent the afternoon with
me watching TV. We even passed on our weekly Bible study today, couldn’t get in
the right frame of mind to study. We are looking forward to a better day tomorrow.

I had a good night and a
better day today. I still had a very boring day. Cheri headed to the grocery
store early this morning and then a little later she picked up Denise and they
went to Lakeland for their sewing class which took the rest of the day although
she did get home around 5:00 pm. I had some computer work to do for the new
motorcycle insurance and found out that the insurance agent tried to pull a
fast one on me by not including uninsured motorist on the new policy which
would have made it a lot cheaper. I am waiting for a retuned phone call from
her so I can tell her what she can do with her insurance. Larry stopped over to
see how I was doing and for a visit which helped pass part of the day. Most of
my day was spent watching Alaska State troopers which there were one episode
after another all day. This evening Norm came by to see how I was doing before
he leaves for another 21 days of work in the oil fields of BC.

I was pretty sick this
morning, took a pain pill at 4:00 am and think I didn’t eat enough with the
pill and that made me sick. So I was under the weather all morning and this
afternoon I started to feel some better. I decided to call a new insurance agent
that I met at Bike Week a couple of weeks ago. We had talked about motorcycle
insurance and she thought that she could save me some money. Our car insurance
is coming due on the first of April and also wanted to check on that. Well she
couldn’t do anything better on car insurance but was able to save me about 300
dollars a year on motorcycle insurance. After all of that I was ready for a
nap. Cheri was busy in the sewing room again today and came out frustrated
having trouble with the sewing machine settings. We had another bowl of the
wonderful soup that Ron and Sandy brought us yesterday for supper. Larry and Denise
came over to check on me and visit for a while.
After they left we watched some TV and called it a day neither of us had
a good night’s sleep and hope tonight will be better.

I am feeling pretty crappy
this morning, that’s why I am late getting yesterdays blog done.
I had a doctor’s follow up
appointment at 10:00 am. It was good to get out of the house as I am really bored
from setting around not being able to do anything. I got a good report from my
doctor and supposed to continue doing the same thing I have been doing the last
few days. We were back home by 11:00 am but was nice to do something to help
break up the day. Late this afternoon Ron and Sandy brought over bean soup and
brownies for our supper. They also stayed and visited for a while which helped
me through the afternoon. Thanks Sandy
for making the soup and brownies, they were very good and look forward to
having more soup tomorrow. I slept
through 90 percent of Dancing with the Stars, very groggy from the pain pills.

Today was the same as
yesterday spending day and night in the recliner. I haven’t seen much
improvement in the pain department. I am so bored sitting around and not able
to do anything. Cheri continues to take very good care of me. Cheri spent most
of the day in her sewing room. Larry and Denise came over for a visit which
helped past some of the time. Late this afternoon I was able to watch a very
good NASCAR race. This evening we got a call from an old friend Tom Praxl from
Wisconsin and wanted to know if we were home and wanted to stop and see us. It
has been a few years since we were last together. They were here for a couple
of hours and then headed on their way back to Wisconsin. Cheri helped me into
the shower, felt good to finally get cleaned up.

It was another all day and
night spent in the recliner. The pain pills keep me pretty drowsy and still
have a lot of pain. If anyone would like a little pain I will gladly give you
some of mine. Cheri has been awake since 1:00 am and I was awake at 4:00 am.
Cheri continues to take really good care of me. We were talking this morning
and this is the first time I have been laid up and not able to get around. Usually
my day go by pretty fast but today was the longest day I have ever spent. Late
this afternoon Cheri made some really good New England clam chowder for supper.
Pam made us another Banana cream pie that Mike delivered this afternoon. Thanks
Pam, we each had a piece this evening, another great pie. My whole day was
spent watching TV and napping. Cheri also took a much needed nap this
afternoon.

We were up at 3:30 am and
left the house at 4:30 am heading for the hospital in Tampa. I am scheduled to
have foot surgery at 7:30 am but had to be there at 5:45 am. My first stop was
to have a blood draw at the lab, needed to make sure my blood platelets were
high enough to have the surgery. I was supposed to have the surgery back in
July but my platelets were too low and have taken this long to get them up
enough for the surgery, never did find out why they were so low, may have been
because of some over the counter drugs. Back to the surgery, I am having a
large bunion remove from the big toe on my right foot and a new joint implant
where the bunion was. It has been bothering me for a few years when I do a lot
of walking. After all was said and done we were back home by 11:30 am, just in
time to have a much needed pain pill. I spent the rest of the day in the
recliner and also slept there all night. Cheri has been a life saver taking
great care of me. I have spent a lot of time sleeping as the pain pills make me
drowsy.

Gay Mar-19-15

It was one of those days
where we kept busy all day with something. This morning Cheri started to do
today’s and tomorrow’s laundry because tomorrow is going to be really busy day
for us. Cheri also worked on her Easter wreath that she is making for the front
door. I think she has it just about done. This morning I continued working on
the printer trying to get rid of the paper mismatch error. I tried everything I
could think about and everything I found on the internet and finally gave and
decided to buy a new one. The rest of the morning was spent in Bible study
getting ready for our Bible study class at 1:00 pm. Once again we had a small
group but everyone participated which made for a good class. After Bible study
we went downtown to get haircuts. There was going to be a 45 minute wait and
the gal that cut our hair was going to be done in half an hour so we will wait
until next week. Then we made a stop at Staples and checked the printers. Then
to Wal-Mart where I did find one that I think will work for us. From there we
went to Home Depot to return the samples of granite counter tops we had. We
looked again at the new cabinets and kitchen sinks; still think we are going to
paint our old cabinets. Then we went to Jersey Mikes for a sub for our supper.
Then back home to install the new printer. It took a while to get it all set up
but now it is done and so am I. Time to head to the recliner for some TV or
maybe a nap before bed.

Grandma had another doctor’s
appointment at 9:45 am to get the final shot in her knee and she also had a
drip medicine for her bones. It was noon before got home. Cheri and Denise left
this morning for their all day sewing class in Lakeland. Larry called me around
12:30 pm wanting to know if I wanted to take a motorcycle ride to the Lakeland
Harley dealer. I probably should have stayed home and worked but it is hard to
turn down a motorcycle ride. It was a quick trip down and back. Larry is
ordering a lowering kit for his motorcycle and wanted to make sure he had the
right numbers for ordering the kit. When I got home I worked on the computer
printer. I am getting an error message when I try to print saying paper
mismatch sizing. I have tried everything I could think of and also tried a
bunch of things that I found on the internet all with no luck. Around 3:30 pm I
called Mike and Pam to see if they were home so I could come over and fix their
cabinet door. They were home so I headed over to redo the cabinet door. Pam was
busy cooking when I got there. After I got the door hung we visited a while and
Pam gave me a couple pieces of homemade banana cream pie to take home along
with some homemade chicken salad. Thanks Pam, the banana cream pie was the best
I have ever had. After supper we settled in for an evening of TV.

Happy St Patrick’s Day.
Cheri headed out early this morning to get a corn beef to do in the crock pot
so we could have corn beef and cabbage for supper. Then Cheri and Denise went
shopping in Lakeland. I planned a motorcycle ride for today. Larry was sick and
could make it, Mike said that he had other things that needed to be done, and
Norm is gone for his daughter’s wedding. So it was just Ross and me for the
ride. I was planning to ride to Leesburg but Ross said that he would like to
ride to Ocala so I changed the route a bit and headed out. He wanted to stop at
the used motorcycle parts place. At the time I didn’t know I was going to have
to go there also. On the way up when I went to shift the motorcycle I couldn’t
change gears. We got off the side of the road and checked and found that the
shifting linkage had broken. I was able to use a cable tie to secure it back in
place so we could continue our trip. We stopped at Wendy’s for lunch and this
Wendy’s charged us for the senior drink. So my Chicken sandwich and drink cost
me $2.12, not happy about that, should have been only $1.07. From there we
headed to the used parts place and Ross got the fender trim he was looking for
and I got the part for my shift linkage. We made a stop at the Harley dealer
and then headed for home. We arrived home a little past 4:00 pm and had ridden 178
miles. After a wonderful supper of corn beef and cabbage that Cheri fixed for
us we went up to Mike and Pam’s. They have been having a problem with their
phone and internet service. After making several checks I found that there was
an old Disk modem that was still plugged in and was causing the problem. Anyway
after disconnecting it the internet and phone is now working. I told Mike and
Pam if they still have a problem it has to be the modem that is for their
internet service. I also check out a cabinet door that the hinge is coming off
and I will have to go back with some different screws to fix it.

I was up early this morning
as I had to be on the road by 6:20 am for my appointment in Tampa. It was a
long day. I stopped to fill the car with gas on the way home. It was near 3:00
pm when I arrived home. Cheri was busy in the sewing room making a new wreath
for the front door. She said that she had some problems and needs to talk to
Pam as she has been making them. Cheri also was working in the kitchen getting
things ready for our supper. She fixed something new which was very good.
Boneless pork chops, sliced onions, sliced potatoes and a special sauce over
all of it and baked in the oven. I did a little computer work and decided I had
done enough for the day. Cheri was excited this evening because Dancing with the
Stars starts their tenth season. I just have a hard time getting into it
anymore. I did watch most of it before I headed to bed.

We picked up Grandma and
took her to church with us. Pastor Randy had a very good message today.
Humility: Where Revival Begins. Isaiah
57:15. It also went along with our Sunday school class. Revival: Who needs it?
Which was also very good. After Sunday school we went to ABC Pizza for lunch
with Mel and Jan. After we got home I changed clothes and went up to Mike and
Pam’s. Pam is gone for a couple of days and Pam wanted me check up and make
sure Mike was ok. I also fixed their closet door that had come off the track. I
had a nice visit with Mike and then headed home to watch the NASCAR race which
Cheri napped through. After such a big lunch we just had an English muffin with
peanut butter and a brownie that Cheri had fixed for the Life Group gathering
that got cancelled because Ron and Sandy were sick. Which met more brownies for
me.

Every day this week when I
got up which is 6:00 am the temp has been in the mid 60’s and then heads to the
low to mid 80’s, how nice is that. Cheri and Denise want to go to one of the
largest fabric and quilt shop in Florida. The problem is it is 55 miles from
here and you have to go through a lot of traffic to get there. So today was the
day Larry and I took them. They are looking for some special colors for a block
quilt that they want to make and needed to go where they have a bigger selection
of fabric. We picked up Larry and Denise at 10:00 am. We had to leave our park
earlier as today was the park wide yard sales. They change the traffic pattern
in the park to one way streets and with all the traffic and lookers it takes a
while to get out of the park. Next year we will leave before 7:00 am or stay
home. Larry wasn’t feeling himself today think he is coming down with a cold.
On the way to Dunedin we stopped at Wendy’s for an early lunch. Cheri and I
each had a chicken sandwich and a senior drink for a total cost of $2.12. Yep
sometimes I can be pretty cheap. Cheri and Denise had a good time looking for
the fabric they needed for their quilt projects. Larry and I sat outside on the
benches with other guys waiting for their wives to get done shopping. Larry was
not feeling good so we headed for home with a quick stop at Northern Tools. It
was near 5:00 pm when we finally got home. We settled in with pizza for supper
and an evening of TV.

Let’s see it is Friday the
thirteenth, does that mean we should be extra careful. Now that I have just written
this I had to look it and this is what I found: Friday the 13th, also known as Black
Friday, is considered an unlucky day in Western
superstition.
It occurs when the 13th day of the month in the Gregorian calendar falls on a Friday. The
superstition surrounding this day may have arisen in the Middle Ages,
"originating from the story of Jesus' last supper
and crucifixion" in which there were 13
individuals present in the Upper Room on Maundy
Thursday, the night before His death on Good Friday.[1][2] Other scholars claim that there is no
written evidence for a "Friday the 13th" superstition before the 19th
century, and the superstition only gained widespread distribution in the 20th
century. The fear of the number 13 has been given a scientific name: "triskaidekaphobia";
and on analogy to this the fear of Friday the 13th is called paraskevidekatriaphobia,
from the Greek words Paraskeví (Παρασκευή, meaning
"Friday"), and dekatreís (δεκατρείς, meaning
"thirteen").[3] Ok it has clear as mud to me and just another
day. Cheri and Denise went shopping and in fact left before our motorcycle ride
left. There were five of us (Larry, Ross, Norm, Derek, and myself) for the
ride. Our destination was Crystal River and then out to the end of a highway at
the Gulf. We eat at a restaurant there and I had the best bowl of New England
clam chowder that I ever had. Larry also said that is fish was the best he has
had. The rest of the guys also were happy with their meal. We also made a stop
at the Harley dealer on our way home. The ride was over all the crooked roads I
could find and also a perfect day as the temp got up in the low 80’s and was
partly cloudy with a nice breeze. It was l after 5:00 pm and 183 miles later when
we got home. Cheri and Denise got back around 4:00 pm and had a good time shopping;
anyway I think so from all the things she bought for Easter decorations. Another
fun filled day.

It was a busy day for us.
Cheri was busy doing laundry when I left to go over to help Larry with the
roof. I worked until 11:30 am and then headed home for lunch and to get cleaned
up for Bible study at 1:00 pm. I did have time to sit down for half an hour
before the class started. We had a very good discussion and study of
Philippians chapter four. Now that we have finished Philippians we decided to
do the book of Ephesians next. After bible study Cheri and I headed back over
to Larry and Denise’s. Cheri and Denise headed out shopping and I helped Larry
with the roof. It was after 6:00 pm when we finished the roof. Denise fixed
supper for us and then played one game of Hand, Knee, and Foot. It was the guy’s
night to win. We got home around 9:00 pm and I was ready to call it a day as I was
very tired.

I was just getting ready
to head out the door at 9:10 am to take Grandma for her doctor’s appointment
when Larry called and want to know if I could help him install some roofing on
their house. I told him I could after Grandma’s appointment. We waited an hour
in the doctor’s exam room before the doctor came in. It was almost noon when I got
back home. Cheri was busy making a dessert to take to our Life Group gathering
this evening. We had a quick lunch and were ready to go to Larry and Denise’s
when Cheri got a call from Pam telling us she was flying to Illinois to be with
Peggy who has been her close friend for over 35 years and has only a few days
before she goes to be with God. We also got a call from Sandy letting us know
that Ron is really sick and has to cancel this evenings Life Group gathering.
We headed over to Larry and Denise’s and Larry was already busy with the roof.
We worked until after 5:00 pm and I had to quit as I got over heated. I told
Larry I would be back tomorrow morning to help. As soon as we got home I headed
to the shower and Cheri fixed us a ham and cheese omelet for supper which was
really good. After supper I headed for the recliner as I was really exhausted.
Cheri went to Wal-Mart to get Grandma’s medicine and groceries. I took a nap
while she was gone. When she returned we watched a little TV and called it a
night.

Cheri and I both slept in
this morning. I didn’t get up until 6:45 am and Cheri much later can’t remember
the last time I stayed in bed that late. It was easy to do as we had no plans
for this morning. Cheri was busy doing house work and I in Bible study for our
Thursday bible study lesson. This afternoon I took Grandma for her doctor’s
appointment. It was near 4:00 pm when I got back home. Cheri and I talked and
decided not to put in new kitchen cabinets, we are going to paint the old ones
and put on new hardware, counter top, back splash, new sink. Plus I will
rebuild the cabinet above the stove so we can have the microwave there. Also
new paint, light fixtures, and flooring. Wow I am tired from telling what we
are going to do. We do have a few minor things we need to do before we start
kitchen project.

This month seems to be
flying by, not sure where the time has gone. We had another good morning visit
with Bruce and Jeanne while having cereal with more fresh strawberries and
relaxing with the morning coffee. At 11:00 am it was time to say good bye to
Bruce and Jeanne, They are working their way back to Wisconsin. Cheri and I
were just getting busy on our Bible study for Thursday when Ross one of my
motorcycle buddies came. He and his wife just arrived in Florida yesterday from
Michigan by way of Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas. We visited for a couple of
hours and made tentative plans to go for a motorcycle ride on Friday. Cheri and
I had a late lunch and then headed to Mel and Jan’s. Mel had fallen last week
and is having a hard time with his balance and we wanted to check on him. We
only got to visit with them for a few minutes as Mel had a hair cut
appointment. Then we made a quick stop at Wal-Mart and also to fill the car
with gas. It was near 4:00 pm when we got back home. Cheri got a call from Pam
wanting to know if we want to go out for dinner and then back to their place to
play cards. Their daughter Jenny is here from Tennessee and today was the only
time we would get a chance to see her. So it was dinner and cards, a good time
for all of us. Cheri and I are so blessed to such wonderful friends.

It being church day it
doesn’t give us much time to relax in the morning. Cheri fixed some of the strawberries
that Bruce and Jeanne brought with them to have on cereal for breakfast along
with coffee. We headed for church at 8:40 am and picked up Grandma on the way. We
passed on Sunday school today so we could take Bruce and Jeanne to Lakeland to
see the swans on the lake. That didn’t turn out as well as there were boat
races going on the lake and no swans. We went for lunch at our favorite Chinese
restaurant (Ling’s). Then took a long ride home to show Bruce and Jeanne some
of the Florida country around Zephyrhills. We dropped Grandma off at her place
and headed home. Bruce and I relaxed watching TV while Cheri and Jeanne went
shopping. After such a big lunch Cheri fixed us a ham sandwich and ice cream
with fresh strawberries for supper. The rest of the evening was spent visiting
and watching TV.

Cheri was a busy girl
today. She finished her house work and headed to the grocery store for what I
thought was going to be a few things but when she got back she had lot of
stuff. We have company Bruce and Jeanne from Wisconsin coming this afternoon.
Cheri is busy getting things ready for a dinner. She has a ham going in the
crook pot, made apple pie. I did some work on putting some information together
for our Bible study class on Thursday. As soon as Bruce and Jeanne got here Bruce
looked up and saw sky divers coming down and wanted to go to the airport right away.
So we jumped in the car and headed over to the airport. We got to see a lot of
sky divers and several gliders being pulled up and finally landing. Then back
home to get their car unloaded and show them what we have done in the house
since they were here last year. We had a great visit and wonderful dinner Cheri
prepared. We watched one of Dr. Larry Ollison’s videos on the Hebrew language. By the way the weather was much nicer today than
it was yesterday.

The weather report for the
day was 40 percent for rain and a high 76. The hourly report showed a rain
shower at 11:00 am and again at 2:00 pm then later this evening. The reason I
am telling you this is because today is the first day of Bike Week in Daytona
which is 120 miles from here. Today is that only day that I can go because of
company coming and appointments next week. It was 61 degrees at 7:45 am when
Larry and I left with the motorcycles in a heavy mist. Well it didn’t get any
better, about every half hour we would get a shower that would last 10 or 15
minutes. About a third of the way a strong wind came out of the north and the
temp must have dropped 10 degrees. We did stop on the way for a cup of coffee
has I was cold. While we were checking out the vendors it started to rain a
good shower which lasted for twenty minutes. When it wasn’t raining there was
always a heavy mist coming down. I do know that when we left this morning that
was the warmest part of the day. In fact while we were there we could see our
breath. The trip home was the same as the trip over except less rain. Now that
I am done explaining what the day was like Larry and I had a good time. I guess
you have to be a bike rider to understand this. Cheri and Denise went to
Lakeland for a quilt and vendor show. Larry and I knew they were going to be
late as there was a drawing for a new sewing machine at 5:30 pm. I figured they
would be home by 6:30 pm. At 7:00 pm they still weren’t home so I called Cheri
and her phone went straight to voice mail which met that she had the phone
turned off. I tried several more times later what still nothing. At 7:30 pm we
were really getting worried and not sure what to do. Well they came around 7:45
pm. They had done more shopping after the quilt show. We all went to Pizza Hut
for a very late dinner. We have company coming Saturday from Wisconsin and
spending a couple of days with us, looking forward to seeing them.

No projects planned for
the day, Cheri did her Thursday laundry and vacuuming. I decided to wash the
car and clean the inside. It was near noon before I came in to shower and shave
to face the rest of the day. We had our Bible study at 1:00 pm. Mike and Pam
came to the Bible study and Pam gave us a lesson on Ephesians 6:10-18 The Armor
of God. It was a great presentation which everyone enjoyed and got to learn how
the Armor of God works for us. Thanks so much Pam. When we got home I did some
computer work and Cheri relaxed with the TV. I also took the motorcycle out to
fill it up with gas as three of us are leaving tomorrow and riding over to
Dayton for Bike Week. We plan on being on the road by 8:00 am and probably will
be late when we get home. Cheri fixed
pizza for supper which it the spot as it has been a while since have had pizza
at home. The rest of the evening was watching some of our recorded shows. We
had to run the air conditioner to cool down the house this afternoon. We are now
getting some of those days where you can have heat in the morning and air
conditioning in the afternoon.

It was another good day
for the Sharps. Cheri did her Wednesday house work and then worked on her wall
hanging. I left at 9:30 am to pick up Grandma and take her for her doctor’s
appointment. We got in on time and had her back home by 11:00 am. Then I went
over to Carolyn’s to install the missing piece of tile that she found. So now I
am done with that project. It was a little past noon when I got home. Cheri
said that Larry and Denise wanted to know if we wanted to go for strawberry
short cake in Plant City. Of course I couldn’t turn down strawberry short cake.
We decided that the short cake was going to be our lunch today. So we picked up
Larry and Denise and headed for Plant City. After we got there we realized the
Straw Berry Festival was going on so there was a lot of stop and go traffic,
the things we go through for some good straw berry shortcake. The real reason
for our trip was to go to Lumber Liquidators. Larry and Denise had watched and episode
Sixty Minutes that talked about flooring coming from China that contains high
amounts of toxic formaldehyde and wanted to find out if what they bought was
some of it. They found out what they have was made in America. We came back a
different way to see some new county. It was near 4:00 pm when we arrived home
and got a chance to relax for a while before going to our Life Group gathering
this evening. Our lesson this evening was about Peter. After watching Tony
Evans video we had a really good discussion. It was another great evening
learning Gods word.

The first thing I did this
morning was redo the screen for Carolyn as yesterday when I did it I got the
screen too tight and bent the frame so that it would fit, which was one of the
things that didn’t go right yesterday. Cheri was already in the sewing room
working on the new wall hanging when I left for Carolyn’s. First I made a stop at Lowe’s to pick up a
new door latch for Carolyn’s lanai door. Working at Carolyn’s went really well
today unlike yesterday when things didn’t go well. I figured it would be around
4:00 pm before I got done but was home by 1:30 pm. I got everything done except
for a piece of tile for the kitchen that was missing. I left a note for Carolyn
and this evening she e-mailed that she found the missing tile. So tomorrow I
will go and finish her project. Cheri has wanted to go and see the movie
McFarland, USA. So we went to the 4:15 showing. It was an excellent movie based
on a true story, a movie everyone should see. We had a personal showing as we
were the only ones in the theater.

Well it was back to work
for us today. Cheri spent most of her day in the sewing room, has started
another wall hanging from some material that she bought in Alaska. I decided to
go to Carolyn’s this morning to get some things done there. I should have
stayed home as everything I did turned out to not go well and some of it I have
to do over. I probably should have stayed home because I didn’t have that much
time to be there has I had to be back home by noon. I had to take Grandma for
her MRI appointment at the hospital. We had to be there by 1:15 pm and was
around 3:30 pm before I got her home. I also made a stop at Staples to have
some copying done for our Bible study lesson this week. By the time all was
said and done it was after 4:00 pm when I got home and not feeling like doing
anything more today. I did some computer work and called Larry and Denise to
see about them coming over to play cards. So it was a relaxing evening to spend
with friends. Larry and I were able to win one game of cards but Denise and
Cheri beat us pretty bad the other two games. I couldn’t believe how hot it got
today, got up into the mid 80’s and had to run the air conditioner this
afternoon.

We decided last night that
we wouldn’t be going to church today so I e-mailed Grandma let her know so she
could make other plans for church. We both are feeling much better today and
feel ready to face the world once again. Cheri fixed waffles for breakfast; we
even got our appetite back. We did some Bible study and watched a Dr Larry
Ollison’s video which was excellent. This afternoon around 2:00 pm we went to
over to Grandma’s as friends Jim and Jeanette from Tennessee were stopping by
to visit with us and Grandma. Around 6:00 pm they took us out for dinner at
Golden Corral. Cheri and I hadn’t been there since last June. We have been
avoiding it because we always eat too much and today wasn’t any different as we
both over eat. Then it was back to Grandma’s for more visiting. Jim and
Jeanette left around 8:00 pm and we also headed for home. We settled in to
watch the NASCAR race that I had recorded but could only stay awake until
around 9:00 pm. We called it a night and will have to finish watching the race
tomorrow.

It is another sick day in
the sharps house. We both are still not feeling good but I think we are
starting to go in the right direction. It was rainy and gloomy all day which
didn’t help our sprits any. I did feel guilty about not doing anything but just
didn’t have the energy to get anything done. We spent the day in our recliners
napping and watching TV.
