I had a really good night
sleep and felt rested this morning, Cheri not so much. We headed out at 9:30 am
to see Mel. He said that he had a good day with walking and the physical therapy,
all good news which means he is closer to going home. Thanks again for all the
prayers for him. We made a quick stop at Lowe’s to get some additional lumber I
needed for Cheri’s sewing table. It was 11:30 am when we got back home for
lunch. Cheri had to be on the road by 12:00 pm to go for her sewing class in
Lakeland. This afternoon I worked on the sewing table. I made the modification that
needed to be done for the sewing machine would sit at the right height in the
table. I got it all glued and screwed together plus I got some of the screw
holes puttied. It was 4:00 pm by the time I got done. Cheri got home around
4:30 pm and was frustrated with the class as the instructor didn’t have
everything she needed and keep leaving the room. We had leftovers from the pork
roast we had yesterday, still tasted good. Sometimes leftovers are better the
second day and this was one of them days. We were supposed to get a lot of rain
today and only had a few sprinkles.

It started to rain just
before I got up this morning and had a nice rain that lasted into the afternoon,
received just over an inch, supposed to get more tomorrow. We were ready to
face the day earlier than usual, not sure why but we were. At 9:00 am we headed
over to the rehab center to see Mel. They had all ready assessed and figured
that he should be able to go home in two weeks. Jan was already there when we
arrived. She is making plans to go north to their summer home to see about
getting the things out that they want to keep and putting the house up for sale.
We told her we would take care of Mel’s needs while she is gone. We were back
home by 11:00 am and I went out and worked on the sewing table. Cheri headed to
the sewing room after she got her Tuesday house work done. It was 1:00 pm
before I took a break for lunch. Cheri had a pork roast in the Crockpot and
sure did smell good. By 4:30 pm I had the sewing table mocked up and ready to
see how the sewing machine was going to fit. I have to make a couple of changes
which should work out ok. Then I can take it all apart and sand, screw, and glue
it together. The plan right now is to paint it white. Cheri is closing in on
the wall hanging she is working on, not too much more to do on it and then we
will have a new quilt hanging in the living room.

We headed out to see Mel
at the hospital not knowing for sure if he would be there or not as today they
are moving him to the rehab facility in Zephyrhills. Well he was still there
and they were giving him a shower so we had to wait a bit before we could see
him. I can see improvement very day that we have been there. We stayed until
11:30 am when they brought his lunch. We stopped and filled the car with gas on
our way home. After lunch I went out and did some more lawn raking, got four
more bags of leaves ready for the garbage tomorrow. The rest of the afternoon
was spent on Cheri’s sewing table project. I got the legs attached to the new
table top and got the layout done and ready to cut the opening for the sewing
machine. I decided it was too late to do any cutting and besides I needed to
take another shower as I was pretty dirty from raking the lawn. After showering
I headed for the recliner and Cheri joined me after spending the afternoon
working on her wall hanging. After supper we went to Lowe’s so I could look and
dream up what type of materials I need to support the sewing machine in the
sewing table. I did find something that I think I can make work. This evening
was Dancing with the Stars. I think Cheri had the right pick on who should have
been voted off but the people who vote didn’t agree with her. We think there
were at least three other couples that should have been voted off first.

We didn’t do a lot today
but took us all day to do it. We picked up Grandma and headed to church. Pastor
Randy had an excellent message on Holiness. We didn’t go to Sunday school as we
were taking Mel and Jan’s daughter Sherry to the airport. So after church we
took Grandma home and then back to the hospital in Dade City to see Mel and
pick up Jan and Sherry. Sherry had flown her from Pennsylvania to drive Mel and
Jan back to their northern home. But because of what happen to Mel they will
not be going north for some time. We got Sherry to the airport by 12:45 pm, her
flight leaves at 2:00 pm. I was surprised how much traffic there was for a
Sunday. On the way home we stopped at Bob Evans for a late lunch. Then back to
the hospital to drop Jan off as that was where her car was. We checked on Mel
and he is going to be transported to a rehab here in Zephyrhills sometime tomorrow,
we visited for a short time and then headed home. It was around 4:00 pm when we
got home. We both were exhausted from our day and the recliners looked really
good, Cheri did take a nap and I did some dozing.

Cheri called the rehab
place where Mel was going to be and found out that he wasn’t there. I guess
there was some kind of mix up and it was too late for him to be transported. So
we headed back to the hospital to see him. We could see more improvement from
the day before, great to see the power of prayer. We were home by 11:30 am.
After lunch I went outside to get some work done. I trimmed all the flowers and
shrubs, racked the back lawn and picked up two and half bags of leaves, cleaned
the leaves out of the rock garden, washed the love bugs off the car. With all
that I had enough for my first day back to work. I took a shower and headed for
the recliner. Cheri was busy in the sewing room working on her wall hanging. I
could see she made a lot of progress today. It wasn’t long and she joined me in
her recliner, we both ended up taking a nap. I settled in this evening to watch
the NASCAR race and found out that it was rained out and will be on tomorrow
afternoon. We called Darren late this evening because we knew that he had to go
into work today and he said that he just got home and still having pain.

We called Darren this morning and he said that he was having a little more pain then yesterday and said that he may have done too much yesterday. We headed out at 9:30 am to see Mel. They had moved him from the ICU to a regular room. We
walked into his room with birthday hats on and carrying a big happy birthday sign
has it was Mel’s birthday. He is in good spirits and found out before we left
that they are moving him to a rehab facility just down the road from the
hospital, this was great news. We got back home around noon for lunch. Cheri
informed me that she want to go see the movie The Age of Adaline. I wasn’t that
impressed with it but Cheri really liked it. It was a movie that women would
like and not so much for men. When we got home we were resting when Cheri got a
call from Mike and Pam letting us know they were home from their week at the
beach and wanted to meet them at Jersey Mike’s for a sub. It gave us a chance
to catch up about their week at the beach and we to give them an update on Mel.
On the way back home we stopped by Larry and Denise’s house to check and
everything was good. So as you can see it was another day of not getting any
work done. Once again I want to thank everyone for their prayers.

We were a little later
getting around this morning and didn’t get to the hospital until 10:00 am which
was good because Mel had just returned to his room from having the heart catheterization.
The doctor’s fond two blockages and put in stints. They said that his heart was
very weak and was at only 20 percent. He had to lie on his back for six hours
and was drowsy so we only stayed for a few minutes. We visited for a bit with
Jan and Cheri before leaving. We headed back to Zephyrhills to get haircuts and
then a couple of stops to pick up some party things as tomorrow is Mel’s
birthday. It was near 1:00 pm when we got home. After lunch Cheri did her Wednesday
house work and laundry. I went out and washed the car as it is now love bug
season and if you leave them for very long on the car they can damage the
paint. Love bug season come twice a year, spring and fall and last about two or
three weeks. We had a little rain off and on today which made it hard to do
anything outside. Update on my foot, I am waking better but still have some
pain while walking. I still have to wear the compression sock to help with the swelling
and it isn’t as bad as it was. You know I am getting better when I start
thinking about a motorcycle ride.

I have two praise reports.
We called Darren and he was up and working from home on the computer. We went
to see Mel this morning and found him sitting up in a chair with a big smile on
his face and talking. Yesterday morning when we went to see him he was on Life
support and not sure if he was going to make it. He still has to go through
some test one of them is a hard heart catenation to see if they can find out
what caused his problem. Also his heart rhythm is bouncing around from 70 to
130 and need to find what is causing it. Thank you for your prayers and please
continue to pray for Mel. It was close to noon when we got home. We had a quick
lunch and Cheri headed out for her sewing class in Lakeland. I for the first
time got outside and did some work. I took Cheri’s sewing table out and to see
if I could modify it for her sewing machine but found that the table top isn’t
going to be big enough so I have some ideas on what to do so I need to make a
trip to Lowe’s. I did get my shop cleaned up and ready for the sewing machine
table project. It was near 5:00 pm when Cheri got home. We had some leftovers
for supper and then went over to Grandma’s to get her grocery list. Then we
went to Lowe’s where I bought the materials for the sewing table and then to
Wal-Mart to get Grandma’s groceries. After all was said and done it was near
8:00 pm when we got home.

We got a call around 9:00
am from Brooke letting us know that Darren came through his gallbladder surgery
ok and was in recovery. Later in the day we got another call from Brooke telling
us she had Darren home and that he had a hard time in the recovery room and was
in a lot of pain and had to gave him some additional pain medicine. She said
that she got him to bed and was hoping he would sleep the rest of the day. We
left early this morning for the hospital to see our dear friend Mel Hughes. He
is in the ICU and is a very sick man. He wasn’t able to talk but did know us.
We got to meet him and Jan’s daughter Cheri. We had a long talk with them in
the waiting room telling us what all happened with Mel yesterday, I think it is
going to take a long time for him to bounce back. So please continue to keep
him in your prayers. It was noon when we left the hospital and decided to have
lunch at the Hillbilly Farm. Cheri has wanted to stop there for a long time and
today was the day. It was ok but nothing special, we probably won’t go back
again. This afternoon Cheri did her Tuesday house cleaning plus paper work for
Grandma. I called the kitchen cabinet place and got all the answers in needed
for the cabinets. Now all we have to do is save money to buy them. I also spent
time with Cheri’s sewing table. I need to modify it so her machine will fit in
it, I have some ideas on what I need to do, now I need to ponder on which is
the best way to fix it.

I was up at 5:00 am as I
had to leave here at 6:15 am for an appointment in Tampa. I was hoping to get
in a little early but actually it was a little past my appointment time. Things
went will and I was done and ready to leave at 9:00 am while I was there I
stopped by the pharmacy to get my latest prescriptions activated. On the way
home I stopped and fill the car with gas as it was ten cents cheaper in Tampa.
It was around 10:30 pm when I got back home. Cheri was busy in the sewing room
and I don’t think things were going as well as she wanted them to as I could
hear her talking to herself or maybe it was that she wanted someone intelligent
to talk to. Cheri had gotten a call from Pam and said that they went to see the
movie Woman in Gold and thought that we would like it. So this afternoon Cheri
and I went over to Wesley Chapel to see it. Pam was right, it is very good
movie based on a true story. Nice to see a movie without all the bad langrage
and it has a rating of seven stars. This evening was Cheri’s night because
Dancing with the Stars was on and once again Cheri was right about who should
get voted off, she is still batting hundred percent. We also found out that our
son Darren is having gallbladder surgery tomorrow morning and has to be at the
hospital at 6:00 am. Late this evening we found out that our dear friend Mel
Hughes was taken to the hospital by ambulance today and has congestive heart
failure and is in the ICU. Please help us and pray for Mel and Darren.

We had told Grandma that
we wouldn’t be going to church because we had company coming for the day. So
Grandma made plans to go with friends in her park. Well they called yesterday
and said that they couldn’t make it so we were able to make church this
morning. There was a guest speaker; Dr. David Clark gave a message on marriage
and being a Christian. We had heard him speak this same message a couple of
years ago when we were going to Community Church. It was a good refresher for
us. It was just Cheri and I for lunch today and decided to go to Sonny’s in
Zephyrhills. You can tell a lot of the snow birds have left has the parking lot
wasn’t full and we got right in without waiting. When we were finishing our
lunch a couple from our Bible study class was just leaving and saw us so they
sat and visited with us for a bit. When we got home it was time for me to watch
the NASCAR race which ended up in a rain delay. So while we were waiting for
the rain to stop we watched a few of the shows we had recorded. When the race
started again Cheri headed for the sewing room to work on her wall hanging. The
race finally got over at 10:30 pm.

It was another lazy day
for me. I just wasn’t in the mood to do anything, I didn’t even go outside. Cheri
made pancakes for breakfast and I opened a bottle of birch syrup that I had
bought in Alaska. It had a completely different taste kind of like a mixture of
sorghum and maple syrup, something that I knew Cheri wouldn’t like. I had
planned on going out to do some cleaning in the shop and get ready for my next
project but couldn’t get my body and mind to work together. I did put a budget
together for the kitchen and that was enough to make me depressed the rest of
the day. Cheri on the other hand was a busy girl in the sewing room; she had the
sewing machine singing all day quilting her latest quilt project. I spent the
afternoon watching the NASCAR race. We watched a few shows this evening and
called it a night.

We had no plans for today
so I decide to sleep in and didn’t roll out until 6:45 am. Cheri also slept in
latter. So it was a pretty slow lazy morning. Cheri did get her Friday laundry
and house cleaning done. Then she called Pat (50 plus years friend) and Roger. They
spend their winters in Parish and we try to get to gather at least once during
the winter. They decided to come and see us this afternoon to visit and see
what we have done to the house since they were last here. We had a wonderful
visit and then went out around 4:30 pm for dinner at That’s a More. We have had
lunch there before and this was the first time for dinner. The dinner prices
are on the high side but they make up for it in the amount of food that you receive.
Pat and Roger split a meal and still took half of it home with them. Which
means you can get four meals out of one of their servings. After dinner we said
our goodbyes and headed home. Later this evening Chuck and Edna from our Bible
study class stopped over to let us know why they hadn’t been in class the last
few weeks. They had had a lot of company and Chuck was having some health
problems. After they left we settled in for an evening of TV.

I got up with a very bad
back this morning. It was sore yesterday and today much worse, trouble getting
up out of a chair. I had planned on taking Grandma for her doctor’s appointment
this morning but couldn’t do it. So Cheri had to take her and they had a long
wait because the doctor had an emergency surgery this morning. A couple of
weeks ago I ordered a TENS unit for pain relief. Cheri helped me get hooked up
and I must say by late afternoon I was feeling much better. Today was our last
Bible Study class for the season. We were studying Ephesians chapter five. We
had a lively discussion, our hour class lasted almost two hours, and it was a
great time with God’s word. Cheri went to Wal-Mart to get groceries and a few
other things she had on her list. I did a little more internet searching on the
kitchen cabinets, made a couple of changes in our plan. I was showing Cheri
what it was going to look like and the sizes of the cabinets and realized I had
made a mistake in the size of a couple of the cabinets. I still have to call
the manufacture to get some questions answered and some fine tuning on my part.
I am hoping for a more productive day tomorrow as my foot is feeling much
better and easier to get around.

For the most part I spent
a pretty quiet day here. Cheri left at 10:45 am to pick up Denise and head to
Lakeland for their sewing class. I spent part of the day preparing for our
Bible study tomorrow. I did some internet searching for some additional material
I could use in class. We are studying Ephesians chapter five and I did find
some interesting questions to present to the class. The rest of my day was
spent pricing out kitchen cabinets that I found on the internet that can be
delivered direct to your home. They have to be assembled when you receive them
which is no problem for me and will help to save some money. Before Cheri left
this morning I had her pick out a color and style that she liked. It took me a
long time measuring and putting a package together. I finally came up with a
price that I thought was pretty good for the quality of the cabinet. I still
have some fine tuning to do and I have to call the manufacture to get some
additional questions answered. I was still working on the cabinet package when
Cheri and Denise got home to pick me up and then go and get Larry as we were
going out for dinner together for the last time this season. Larry and Denise
are leaving in the morning for their summer home in Ontario. We went Wesley
Chapel to eat at Grill Smith where Mike and Pam took us last week. It was very
good and Larry and Denise like it. Then we headed back to Larry and Denise’s to
play one game of Hand, Knee, and Foot which Cheri and Denise won, in fact they destroyed
Larry and me. In one hand we only had 255 points. If you have never played the
game before a bad hand would be around five or six thousand points. We said our
goodbyes as they still had a few things that they need to finish packing.

I am back to getting up at
my 6:00 am time. I was getting pretty lazy about getting up, guess it was
because I couldn’t do anything useful. I tried putting on a shoe and walked
around in the house and thought I could get along OK. I had a 10:30 am nurse
and doctor’s appointment for my yearly physical and we had to meet Mike &
Pam and Ron & Sandy at 11:30 am for lunch in Dade City at Doc’s Bar and
Grill. I went to the doctor’s office a little early in hopes I would get in
early. I did get to see the nurse early but was 11:20 am before I got to see
the doctor. So long story short we didn’t get to Dade City until a little pass
noon. I had called Cheri and told her I would be late and she called Pam and
told them to go ahead and eat. We still got to visit with everyone while we
eat. After lunch Ron and Sandy had other things they had to do with their grandchildren.
Mike, Pam, Cheri and I decide to go to Wesley chapel to see the movie Do You
Believe. It didn’t start until 3:40 pm so we had some time to shop before the
movie. It was a very good Christian movie and should be seen by everyone. After
the movie we headed back to Zephyrhills to have soup and half a sandwich at
Panera Bread, always a good place for soup and sandwich. We dropped Mike and
Pam off at home and we headed home for an evening of TV which didn’t last long
as we were both tired, so we called it a night early. I did get along with the
shoe and was better than the sandal I had been wearing; I think I can see the
light at the end of the tunnel.

We didn’t have anything
going on this morning so took longer for us to get around and ready to face what
the world was offering us today. Grandma had a B-12 shot appointment at 1:00
PM. I had planned on taking her but Cheri said that she would do it, bless her.
She has been taking excellent care of me. I do feel guilty that I can’t do
more. But I need to understand that each day is a day closer to being back on
both feet. This afternoon we picked up Larry and Denise and when to Jo-Ann
Fabrics over in Kissimmee, it is a much larger store then the ones around
Zephyrhills. Larry and I did find some chairs where we could sit and wait for
the girls to do their shopping. It was around 5:00 pm when we got back in
Zephyrhills and made our way to Golden Corral for dinner. Larry and Denise
treated us to dinner for taking care of their home during the summer while they
are at their northern home. After dinner we played cards at Larry and Denise’s,
Cheri and Denise won the Hand, Knee, and Foot game and Larry and I won the
Pinochle game. When we got home I stayed up to watch Dancing with the Stars
with Cheri. I did nap through some of it. Once again Cheri was right on who got
voted off. I think she is ready to be a judge.

I feel much better today
than I did yesterday. I still have some pain and not able to wear a shoe, I did
try one on but too painful to wear. We did go to church and Sunday school, good
to get back into the church routine, have missed going. Grandma also went with
us. After church we stopped at ABC Pizza for lunch. Mike and Pam were there so
we sat with them visited with them while having lunch. After lunch Cheri and
Pam went shopping in Dade City as something was going on and all the stores
were open today. Cheri and Pam figured they needed to check it out. I took
Grandma and Mike home. I watched the rest of the NASCAR race and was just about
done when Mike, Pam, and Cheri got here to play cards. No supper this evening
because of the large lunch. We did have snacks while we played cards. Mike and
I won at Hand, Knee, and Foot. I won playing SOB. Cheri and Pam won playing
Skip-Bo. We had a rain storm come through while we were playing cards, a lot of
rain and a little lighting and thunder lasting about an hour. It was a much
needed rain. After Pam and Mike left we settled in and watch A.D. The Bible Continues.

We both had a pretty good
night sleep but I got up tired and was tired and somewhat depressed all day.
Cheri and I went out for breakfast at the Breakfast Station which is a place we
have been to a few times before and is good. Well today neither Cheri nor I
were happy with our meal. If it was the first time we were there I wouldn’t go
back. We were going to go over to Lowe’s after breakfast but I think I over did
it yesterday and didn’t feel like walking as I had more foot pain today so we
headed home. I ended up the whole day in the recliner feeling sorry for myself.
Cheri spent most of the day in her sewing room organizing things. Because of
our big breakfast we didn’t have any lunch until around 2:30 pm and Cheri made
clam chowder for us, very good. I did watch some of the NASCAR race this
evening but couldn’t stay wake for the end of the race so will finish watching
it tomorrow. Sure is nice to be able to record all of our shows so we can watch
them when we want too or I should say when we can stay awake.

We both had a better night’s
sleep and more rested to face the day. We headed out early today; our first
stop was the bank to get some papers notarized for the manufactured home Homestead
Act. Then a trip to Dade City court house to have it registered. It protects us
from anyone putting a lean on our house. Then it was a stop at Wal-Mart to pick
up groceries for Grandma. When we got to Grandma’s I had to go through her
electric bills for some information that Cheri is working on for Grandma. After
all was said and done it was near 1:00 pm when we got home for lunch. After
lunch Cheri worked on the Grandma’s paper work and I worked on the Sunday
school lesson. Then we both sat down in our recliners to watch some TV but we
both ended up taking a nap. The evening we were invited over to Larry and
Denise’s for pizza and cards. We played one game of Hand, Knee, and Foot that
Larry and I won. Then we play a game of Phase Ten. I won!!!! My losing streak
of never winning a game is over. I think I did too much waking today has I have
a little more pain in the foot than yesterday, need to take it a little easier
tomorrow.

Cheri and I both put in a terrible
night, not sure why we just kept waking up and then lay there trying to get
back to sleep. So it may for a day of being tired. This forenoon Cheri was busy
doing her Thursday house work and Laundry. She also spent time in the sewing
room organizing things to get ready for her next project, not sure what it will
be. I spent the morning preparing for our Bible study class. After lunch it was
time to head to the Club house for Bible study. We studied Ephesians chapter
four and had a very good discussion. When we got home I did some paper work and
Cheri was back in the sewing room. Mike and Pam picked us up at 5:00 pm and we
headed to Wesley Chapel to have dinner at Grill Smith. Mike and Pam said it was
a good place to eat and they were right, we had a wonderful dinner. It was the
first time we have been there. They have an early bird special where you can
have dinner for $10.00. After dinner we headed to the Cob Theater to see the movie/documentary
Four Blood Moons. It is a very interesting event that will happen for the first
time on September 28th 2015. My progress with my foot continues to improve a
little more each day. I am now wearing a compression sock that comes all the
way to my knee, it is a major struggle getting on each morning, pretty painful
putting it on but does feel better after I get it done, still can’t wear a
shoe.

I didn’t take any Aleve
before going to bed and wasn’t sure if I would be able to sleep through the
night but did have a good night’s sleep. I did wake up with a headache and
bothered me most of the day. This morning Larry came over to get me a 9:00 am.
We went over to Grandma’s to clean her air conditioner coils. When we got it
apart we found everything nice and clean so we put it back together and headed
home. Thanks for the help Larry as I wasn’t much help. I looked pretty funny
trying to walk around with a plastic bag over my leg. When I got home Cheri was
getting ready to leave for her sewing class in Lakeland. Denise was sick with a
bad cold so Cheri was going by herself and will have to teach Denise what was
done in class. I settled in for an afternoon of Bible study trying to get ready
for tomorrows Bible study class at the Club house. I think it was around 5:00
pm when she got home as I was trying to watch a little TV and had been napping.
This evening Mike and Kathy came over to play Phase Ten. We played two games
and Cheri won both, so my non winning record is still intact, never got pass
phase seven.

Yesterday I made a 10:15

Cheri said that she would go with me. I think she was worried about me driving
over there. Well I had no problems with driving. They also checked out a noise
that we have in the front suspension. I had them check last time it was in for
service and could find anything and they could find anything again this time.
It doesn’t happen all the time so it is going to be hard to find. It was noon
by the time we got done and Cheri said that we were going to Applebee’s for
lunch as we had a gift certificate that we needed to use and we had to go right
by Applebee’s. We had the two for twenty five with the appetizer. Well there
was a mix up on the appetizer and had to wait a while to get it. After we eat
Cheri asked if we got dessert and was told no but because we had to wait a
little longer for our appetizer she gave us each a free fudge sundae. We took
it easy this afternoon in fact we both took a nap, not a good habit to get
into.

Gay April-6-10

It was a busy morning. We
left the house at 9:10 am heading to Tampa for my follow up doctor’s appointment.
We got right in with no waiting; got a good report and maybe the end of the
week or the first of next week I can get into a shoe. We did have to go on into
Tampa to the hospital to pick up a couple pairs of compression stockings. I
have to wear one for the next month, not to my liking, only old people wear
them. I guess I should take a good look in the mirror. On the way home we
stopped at Bob Evan’s for lunch. I always like going there to eat, usually have
breakfast as they sever it all day. But today we had fish that was pretty good.
We got home around 1:00 pm. I did a little computer work and then decided to
just relax the rest of the day. I am really enjoying the Handy Man magazines
that Ron brought over for me. I think I am going to get a subscription for it. I
know it is Monday as Dancing with the Stars was on. Once again Judge Cheri was
right on with who got voted off, she is batting 100% so far. The bad news is Wisconsin got beat.

Happy Easter. Cheri and I
were up at 5:00 am so that we could go to the Sunrise Service. It was held at
the church property outside of Dade City where the new church will be build in
the near future. It was a beautiful morning with the temp at 65 degrees and a
light breeze. Pastor Randy had an excellent message. I wasn’t sure how it would
work out with my foot but Cheri was able to park in front and had to walk only
a little ways. After the service Cheri and I went to Golden Corral for
breakfast and were back home by 9:00 am. I had enough for the day so we
relaxed, read, napped, and watched TV. We did get calls from our two daughters
this afternoon wishing us a happy Easter.

I had my best day as far
as my foot goes, very little pain and I was able to sleep in bed last night for
the first time in sixteen days. I wasn’t sure it would work but decided to give
it a try and worked out pretty well, had to be careful how I moved in bed.
Cheri was busy cleaning her sewing room, not sure what her next project is or
if she is going to take some time off. Ron came over this afternoon for a visit
and brought me some of his Handy Man magazines. Many years ago I use to have a subscription
for the magazine, nice to check them out once again, maybe find a project I
would like to do. The rest of the day was spent in the recliner, sure will be
glad to get out and about.

Once again I was wakened
with my 2:00 am pain other then that I have been pretty much pain free all day.
I am still very careful how I get around but for most part I can hobble around
without the crutches but do use a cane part of the time. Cheri was a busy girl
all day. Busy with her Friday laundry and house cleaning, she is good about
breaking up the laundry and house cleaning by doing a little each day. She also
finished the wreath project today, got the table runners packed up and took
them to the post office to be mailed and stopped at the grocery store. I get
tired from watching her keep busy plus she has been taking care of me. This
evening Larry and Denise came over to play cards and have pizza with us. We
play one game of Hand, Knee, and Foot that Larry and I won. Then two games of Pinochle
which we split, one game of Phase Ten that Cheri won. I am still looking for my
first win playing Phase Ten. I also got several calls from friends checking in
to see how I was doing.

I had a pretty good night
in the recliner except for around 2:00 am I had a bought of pain for about 45
minutes and then was back to sleep for the rest of the night. Cheri was busy
doing laundry and house cleaning and I did my best to stay out of her way.
Along with taking care of all my needs I think it is starting to take a toll on
her. She did work in the sewing room today and said that the table runners are
done. She said her next project is to make another wreath. I did Bible study
this forenoon to be ready for our Bible study class at 1:00 pm at the Club
house. After the class I was ready to get back home. We had planned on going to
church this evening but decided it was going to be too much for me. The rest of
the day and evening was spent watching TV. I can’t believe we get over 100 TV channels
and still can’t find anything worth watching. I received a package today and
Cheri nor I had ordered anything so couldn’t figure out what it was. Well when I
opened it up we had a good laugh as it was an order for me from our neighbor
Mike next door. He thinks I need something to keep me busy. See the attached
pictures.

Gay April-1-15

Being April fool’s day I
am sure several of you got fooled. I for one did not get fooled and I was a
good boy not pulling any pranks. I actually had the best night’s sleep since I
had my foot surgery and a lot less pain today. Of course I had to mind Cheri to
the letter today so I stay in my recliner like I was told too. My next door
neighbor Mike came over for a visit to cheer me up and bad at the same time had
to tell me about the motorcycle ride he went on. Cheri left at 10:45 am to pick
up Denise and head to Lakeland for their sewing class. This morning I had
e-mailed Larry and asked him to pick up some salt for our water softener as it
was very low. So he showed up around 2:00 pm with the salt and got it filled,
thanks Larry. I feel so helpless not being able to do even the little things. I
spent some time doing Bible study getting prepared for class tomorrow. When
Cheri got home the first thing she wanted to know was what I did that I weren’t
suppose to. But today I was very good and did everything she had told me to do
not to do.

Gay Mar-31-15

It was a so so night, kept
waking up and took a while to get back to sleep. I did get myself into trouble
today with Cheri. Last week while in the bath room I lost my balance and
knocked the toilet paper holder off the wall. Well while Cheri was gone to
Wal-Mart to pick up Grandma’s medicine. I went out to the shop and got some
anchors and screws and came back in and fixed the toilet paper holder and I
also filled the bird feeders while I was out. The whole thing was more than I
should have been doing. So when Cheri got home she was really mad at me for
doing what I did. So I spent the rest of the day in the recliner being a good
boy. Cheri spent the afternoon in the sewing room still working on the table
runners. She also made some M&M cookies this afternoon. I must have been a
good boy this afternoon because she brought me one right out of the oven. Yesterday
Cheri made chicken dumplings and fresh baked biscuits for supper and we had
left over dumplings for supper today and taste even better today. Cheri has
taken excellent care of me I just have to do a better job of minding her.
