Cheri and I were up early
this morning so we headed out at 7:15 am for breakfast at Sunrise Restaurant,
still the best place in town to eat. They have such a following that there were
only a few tables left. By the time we left people were waiting. After
breakfast we headed over to Wal-Mart to pick up groceries for Grandma. We were
still back home by 9:00 am. At 9:45 am we headed over to Larry and Denise’s to
check out the concrete work that we did yesterday and then the four of us
headed to Plant City to pick up our new bed. We were happy with the color as
that was the problem when looking for a bed. It turned out to be an almost exact
match to the old bed. When we got home Larry and Denise helped us on pack it
and get into the Sunroom where it will stay until we get the new mattress
delivered which should be the end of next week. Later this afternoon I made a
trip up to Jan Hughes to install the new oven element that came today, another
project done. Late afternoon we tried to watch a movie but both of us napped
through it. This evening wasn’t much different. I did stay awake to watch half
of the Orange Bowl game which Wisconsin Badgers were playing Miami and will
watch the rest of the game tomorrow. Thank you God for guiding us through
another day.

I was out the door at 6:10
am for breakfast and Bible study with my accountability group this morning. Had
a good study and visit. I was back home by a little after 8:00 am. I got
cleaned up and headed over to Larry and Denise’s at 9:00 am. Larry and I are
framing the step landing and mixing the concrete for it. We got the framing
done about 11:30 am. Cheri and Denise went shopping today. I also got a call
that our truck was ready to pick up. So after lunch Larry took me up to get the
truck and was very disappointed as it has the same clunking sound from the differential
and a managed to put 432 miles on it and I wanted to know why and said that
they did a lot of extensive testing. Makes me think someone needed a truck to
use while they had it. This afternoon Larry and I mixed the cement and got the
step landing poured, looks nice. I headed home to put the new tailgate lock in
the truck and cut the paddle lock off the spare tire as we weren’t given a key
for it, something the dealer was supposed to do while they had it. This evening
I did a Google search on the truck problem and found out it is a known problem and
GM will not do anything to fix it. So the new name for our truck is “Clunker”.
Larry and Denise came over to play cards this evening and Larry and I won the
game of Hand, Knee, and Foot. We also played a game of Phase Ten which Cheri
won. All in All it was a good God made for us.

Another busy day.
Cheri busy with Thursday laundry and housework. She also made a trip to the
post office to mail a birthday card to Brooke. She didn’t know how much postage
it would be to send to Mexico. I don’t remember what she said cost but know it
was over a dollar. I left at 8:45 am for work. Today I installed six can lights
in a kitchen and removed the fluorescent lights. Things went well until I went
to install the cans and realized I brought the wrong ones. So I had to take
time to make a trip to Lowe’s for the right ones, really disappointed in myself
for the mistake. I finished at 3:45 pm and made a stop at Larry and Denise’s to
see if he got the ceiling panels, still no panels. So it was near 5:00 pm when
I got home. Cheri had made a crockpot of chili which really hit the spot. I
still haven’t heard anything more on the truck.

Cheri was busy getting all
the Christmas decorations down. I got the Christmas containers down so she
could get things packed away for another year. The only thing we have left to
do is remove the outdoor Christmas lights and I usually wait until after the New
Year. So now Cheri has all different home decorations set out. I did work
outside in the shed and my new storage area moving things around and still not
sure if I got things the way I want them, time will tell. I also went to Lowes
to get a new fan remote transmitter and receiver for a client I am doing work
for. While I was out I stopped by Harbor Freight, was looking for a pocket electric
tester so I wouldn’t have to get the meter out all the time, no luck on that. I
also took the car through the car wash. After a late lunch we headed to the
Tampa airport to pick up Jan who was arriving at 3:15 pm. Well her plane was
late and took a while for them to get a wheel chair and someone to push her to
the baggage claim. Long story it was near 6:00 pm when we got back home. I also
got a call on the truck and it may be done tomorrow. Thank you God for guiding
us through another day.

Our day planning turned
out to be a little different than I thought it was going to be. I had planned
on going out and clean up Bob’s truck this morning. But being on the cold side
with a little wind we decided to do our shopping first. Our first stop was Hobby
Lobby to check on a Christmas tree but there wasn’t anything that Cheri wanted.
Our next stop was Lowe’s so I could get the materials I need for my electrical
job Thursday. Then it was on to Wal-Mart to get groceries and a new coffee pot.
On the way home I filled the car with gas and got a couple of lottery tickets.
After lunch we decide to go shopping for a new king size mattress for the new sleigh
bed that we had ordered. We had five places we were going to check on and the
first place was Famous Tate’s where we check out the Black Beauty Rest series
Simmons (an early Christmas present for next year). We had heard some good reports on them and after checking everything
they had we decided to get the Black Beauty Rest along with the adjustable bed
frame. It was around 4:00 pm when we got home. I went out and cleaned up Bob’s
truck and got some of the things I need for Thursday ready to go. When I came
in the house Cheri was busy putting away Christmas decorations. Dinner was a
bowl of soup as Cheri had fixed us a pizza roll for lunch and wasn’t that
hungry this evening. Although we did have some of Nikki’s Christmas candy that
she sent us while watching TV. We were ready for bed early as we were tied and
stressed out from buying the bed.

Merry Christmas to
everyone. I pray that you celebrated Christmas in the true meaning of what
Jesus did for us. Darren called us on a video call and got to see Wyatt unwrap his
Christmas presents which was fun. We had a good visit and fun watching him
play. He is always on the go and never sits still while he is awake. We called
Nikki and also got to talk to Cece. We missed Coz as he had to work today. We
also tried to call Kari and still couldn’t get through not sure what the
problem was. Cheri did text her and didn’t hear anything from the text but she
did send us an e-mail. I worked outside this morning assembling the other steel
cabinet I had bought some time ago. At 2:30 pm we headed over to Larry and
Denise’s for Dinner. We had been invited along with several of their friend. At
4:00 pm I went and picked up Grandma and brought her over. We eat dinner at
5:00 pm and everyone brought something to add to the dinner. We had turkey and
ham along with all the fixings. It was an excellent meal along with good
fellowship. After dinner we played a game of SOB which lasted until 9:00 pm.
After the card game we headed for home. Thank you Larry and Denise for a
wonderful time of friendship.

Wow! Sunday and Christmas
Eve Day, what could we better for being in church and Sunday school learning
about Jesus today. Grandma went to church and Sunday school with us. Everyone
brought some cookies, candy, pies and many other things to Sunday school, not
only did we learn about Jesus but had some great treats. It was near 1:00 pm
when we got home. I watched the rest of the Green Bay Packer football game and
was hard to see them lose. We picked up Grandma again at 4:15 pm to go to
church candle light service. I was disappointed as they had some candles lite
on the stage but we didn’t do the traditional candle lighting. We were back
home by 6:30 pm. We tried to call Kari but got a recoding that our call couldn’t
be completed and to try again which we did with the same results. Then we tried
to call Darren but got no answer. We didn’t try to call Nikki as we knew that
she was with Coz’s family for the evening. So we settled in and watched some TV
before calling it a night. Thank you God for blessing us with Jesus to save us
from an eternal death.

I made a quick trip to
Lowe’s this morning before going to work. I thought that I was going to need
some additional materials for the patio roof I was working on today but as it
turned out I had enough so I will be taking back some materials. I was done with
the roof by noon and thought I was going to be done for the day. But received a
call to do the light switch and towel bar install, not knowing I would be doing
that today I had to go and get the materials for the job which was a 30 plus mile
round trip. I also got a call from the people where I will be doing some
carpentry work and electrical work and stopped by their place to check things
out and made an appointment to do their work. On the way home I stopped by
Larry and Denise’s to see the ceiling panels for their new addition but they
hadn’t been delivered. It was 5:00 pm when I got home. Cheri did some grocery
shopping along with some other shopping today. This evening the Green Bay
Packers were playing the Vikings and planned on watching it but couldn’t stay
awake so we gave up and went to bed.

I left the house at 6:10
am like every other Friday morning to have breakfast and Bible study with my accountability
group in Dade City. We shortened our visit this morning as we all had places we
needed to be today. So I was back home at 8:00 am. Time to change clothes and
be over to Larry and Denise’s by 8:30 am. I am helping Larry build concrete and
block steps for their back entry to the house. Larry already had a good start
on the project. Larry did all the block laying and I cut blocks and mixed mud
for him. I had to quit a noon as I had a doctor’s appointment in Tampa this
afternoon for a C-scan which was going to take three hours. Long story short
they got me in earlier and was back home by 5:00 pm. Cheri was busy with
laundry and her Friday house work. She spent time fixing a new recipe of pork
chops in the crockpot for dinner. It really smelt good when I came into the
house. She also worked on Christmas letter to send out. I got a call today from
the dealership and they have finally taken the truck differential apart and
have found a problem with one of the axels. We also got a call that the new bed
we ordered has come in and now have to find time to go and pick it up. Larry
and Denise came over this evening to play Hand, Knee, and foot which Larry and
I won. It was a good day spending and helping friends, thank you God.

I was off to work at 8:45
am. My first job was to install a bidet attachment to the toilet. I must say
this was a first for me. My next stop was a place where I had a 2:30 pm appointment.
It is a house that no one is living in and going to be sold. I needed to repair
the screen door and also put new screen in the side window. I was done with
that at noon and after lunch I went to a place where I had to repair a concrete
windowsill. After that I headed back to the place where I had the 2:30 pm
appointment. I was still early and had to wait an hour for them to come. I reinstalled
shelfing in the closet and was hard to do as the electric and water were turned
off by the renter that had moved out. I will have to go back as I need some
additional materials to finish the job. On the way home I stopped by Larry and
Denise’s to see how the building addition is going. They were gone but could
see Larry had been working on building the steps to the back entry. It was a
little past 5:00 pm when I got home. Cheri was busy today as it was laundry day
with her other Thursday house work. She also went and returned the rental car
and picked up our car from the body shop. It looks like a new car again. I also
heard from the dealership and they are now in the process of taking the truck differential
apart to see what the problem is. It has taken them four days to get this far.
Thank you God for guiding us through another day.

We left at 9:15 am to pick
up Jan Hughes and take her to the airport. On the way home we stopped by
Parkesdale Market to have some of their famous strawberry short cake which they
started serving the first of December. The berries where not as sweet as they
usually are, maybe because it some of the early berries. While we were there Cheri
bought some vegetables. After we got home I changed clothes and went up to Jan’s
to fix her water shutoff and turned out that the handle wasn’t pushed on far
enough. From there I stopped at the dealership to get my GPS out of the truck.
They are giving me the run around on what needs to be done. They have had it
for three days and still haven’t done anything (not a happy camper). I also
made a stop to check on the car and it will be done tomorrow. Then a stop at
Lowe’s for some materials I need for work tomorrow. Also did some work on one
of the projects I will be doing tomorrow. This evening we were invited along
with Mike and Pam over to Ron and Sandy’s for dinner. It was been a long time
since the six of us has been together and had a lot to catching up to do.

It was back to work
today. The project today was installing 18 feet of closet shelfing at the same
place where I reinstalled the closet shelfing that had come down. I started at
9:30 am and took me 3 ½ hours to complete the project. On the way home I
stopped at Jan Hughes to remove the burned out oven element and ordered a new
one when I got home. Cheri spent the day doing her Tuesday house work and then
worked in her sewing room. Larry and Denise stopped over for a bit to drop off
tools that Larry was using and had a short visit. I got a call from the
dealership and they are still working on the truck, there seems to be some sort
of a problem and the shop foreman is involved. Long story short I have no idea
when it will be repaired. This evening we picked up Jan Hughes and went to
church to hear the Voices of Mobile. They are a young group of college students
that attend Mobile University and travel all over the world singing their gospel
music. They have been invited to sing at Carnegie Hall early next year. Thank
you God for a productive day.

This was not one of my
better days. I started the day with a headache and upset stomach. I am pretty
sure it was because I was stressed from having to take the truck to the
dealership to be repaired and all that I went through while I was there explaining
the problem with the truck and them wanting to charge me for a diagnostic check
when they sold me a truck with a bad differential. I had an 8:00 am appointment
and was told that it could take five or six hours to diagnostic the problem. I
worked on enough cars to know it only takes half an hour to know what the
problem is and another hour an half to take it apart. Well I didn’t hear from
them until 4:30 pm to let me know that there was a problem with the differential
and they would have to take it apart to see what was causing it. They did give
me a ride home. Next I had to take the car to the body shop to be repaired from
where the guy run into the back of the car a few weeks ago. Things went well
with the body shop but the experience with Enterprise car rental place was
something else. The body shop called them and told them I was ready to be
picked up and was told they would be right over. Well right over was a very
long wait. After several problems I finally got the rental car and headed home.
I found Cheri working in her sewing room. After lunch I headed to Lowe’s to
pick up materials I needed for work tomorrow. When I got home I needed to rest
and took a nap and felt some better after that. I headed out to the shop to get
the tools together that I need for tomorrow. I will be using Bob’s truck as I
don’t know how long it will be before we get ours back.

Grandma didn’t go to church with us as she said that it was too
cold to be out and I don’t blame her. They got the new sound system in the
church and it made it a lot better to hear. We met a new couple in church this
morning and invited them to Sunday school but said they couldn’t today but
would next week. We are always happy when we can get more people closer to God.
After church and Sunday school we made a stop at Wal-Mart on the way home as
Cheri wanted to see if the Christmas tree she wants was on sale but they didn’t
have any left. So we picked up a few other things we needed and headed home.
Cheri spent the rest of the afternoon reading her novel. I went outside and did
some cleaning and organizing in my new work area. I also got one of my new
cabinet put together. It took me longer than I thought it would but I am very
happy with it. So it was 5:45 pm when I got in the house. We also went out at
6:01 to watch the space station go over. A couple of people came by and we show
them as they never seen it before. Then it was time for Sunday night pizza and
TV. Thank you God for teaching us more about you.

No work for Cheri and me today. Cheri and Denise left at 9:00 am
to spend the day shopping in Lakeland. Larry and I left at 8:30 am to look for
precast concrete steps and concrete step treads for the new addition Larry and
Denise are building. Larry and I must have drove at least 150 miles looking for
a place that builds them or has them on hand. Larry did talk to a contractor
that is coming Monday to look at what he wants and will show him some other
jobs he has done. After all the driving we did find a place about five miles
away that builds them but they were closed. Larry is going to check it out
Monday. I was home around 3:00 pm and Cheri got back around 3:30 pm. She said
that all the stores where very busy with long checkout lines. She did buy a
couple pair of shoes for the cold weather. The only other thing I did was get
the truck unload and ordered another tailgate lock for the truck. Cheri fixed
us an omelet and English muffin for dinner. The rest of the evening was spent
on our Sunday school lesson and some TV.

Cheri got to sleep in this morning as I didn’t have to go to work
this morning. I did leave at 6:10 am for my accountability group breakfast and
Bible study. I got back home at 8:15 am and time to get cleaned up to take
Grandma for her knee shot at 9:30 am. Once again it was a long wait for the
doctor. I got Grandma’s appointment set up for a cortisone shot in three months
and then forgot to set up the three appointments in six months so I had to go
back to the doctor’s office to get that done. After all was said and done it
was almost noon when I got back home. Cheri was busy with the laundry and
Friday house work plus I think she spent some time in her sewing room. After a
quick lunch I headed to work to reinstall the closest shelf that had come down.
I also had to move another shelf and they showed me where they want some
additional shelving put in the closet. On the way home I made a quick stop at
Lowe’s to return some materials I didn’t need because of the change in the
shelving. I also got the truck filled with gas. After dinner Cheri and I went
over to Larry and Denise’s to play Hand, Knee, and Foot which Larry and I won
by a very narrow margin which made for a good game. God blessed us with another
productive day.

Cheri was busy doing laundry along with Thursday’s house work. She
also went out to the bank and then dropped off a package (tuck tailgate lock)
that I was sending back, not sure but she may have done some other shopping. I
left for work a little earlier as I had a 9:00 am appointment to check out a
stairs that a guy wants to put the ceiling of the garage so he can get into the
attic. The stairs were too big for the opening and I showed him what had to be
done to install them and he decided he was going to return them. Next it was
back to my garage lighting and can lighting project. While working outside on
the lights a lady stopped by and asked me for my number because she has some
electrical things she wants done and said she was going to make a list and call
me. Just as I was finishing the garage lighting the guy from across the street
where I did the garage lighting last week stopped by and wants me to put can
lighting in their kitchen. His wife had been over to see the can lighting that
I put in and decided she had to have the same thing in her kitchen. On the way
home I made a stop at Lowe’s to get materials for tomorrow’s project. I also
stopped by Larry’s to check out his progress on the room addition he is
building. He had two guys there helping him. I had planned on helping him too
but with my other work it is going to be hard to help him. I am free Saturday
and plan on helping him put in the steps which will be made out of concrete
blocks. Thank you God for helping us through another day.

I had a 9:00 am work appointment this morning to remove an old
microwave and install a new one. Of course none of the old mounting would work
for the new microwave. I didn’t know that it was going on an outside wall which
is concrete. I didn’t think I had the right concrete screws for the project.
Well when I checked my screw box there was the exact screws I needed. I don’t
ever remember buying them. This is an example of how God works to help us. My
next stop was to remove a blanket that was stuck under the agitator of the
washing machine. I first thought that I would have to remove the agitator but
with a little work I was able to get the blanket out. The next stop was where I
worked yesterday on the kitchen can lights. I finished installing different diffusers
and now look much better. Next I plastered the holes from the old lights. Next
it was working on install the outside garage lights. I didn’t get that project
done and will go back tomorrow to finish. On the way home I stopped to check
out a ten foot wire closet clothes rack and shelf that came off the wall. All
of the anchors where pulled out of the wall. I plan on getting the materials
tomorrow on my way home and will be reinstalling it on Friday afternoon. Cheri
was busy with her Wednesday house work and also made a casserole for dinner
with fresh baked biscuits. It was 5:00 pm when I arrived home and ready for a
shower before dinner. After dinner I had paper work to do and packed up the
tailgate lock that wouldn’t work and got it ready to send out tomorrow. The
rest of the evening was spent watching our TV shows we had recorded. Once again
I want to thank God for all the blessing he gave us today.

The temp was six degrees warmer this morning, 37 degrees. Cheri and I were both up earlier than we normally are. I couldn’t
sleep and Cheri knew I had to leave at 7:15 am for my eye appointment at the VA
eye clinic. They wanted me there 15 minutes before my appointment time but didn’t
tell me why. But ended up waiting an hour past my appointment time, so much for
being early. It was 11:00 am when I got back home. Cheri and I had a sandwich
for lunch and then I headed to the GMC dealer to see about getting an
appointment to have the truck differential checked and couldn’t get an
appointment until Monday at 8:00 am. When I got home Cheri said that we got an
e-mail that the insurance company approved the estimate to get the car
repaired. So I headed to the body shop to see when they can get it in and got
an appointment for Monday at 1:00 pm. The insurance company also made arrangements
for us to pick up a car to use while ours is being repaired. The tailgate lock
came for the truck and doesn’t work right and can’t get the key out of the lock
when it is locked, so I need to send it back. While I was working on it the bed
liner and tonneau cover came. Good timing as I was ready to do the install. I
got the bed liner in and had Cheri help me with the tonneau cover. I am very
happy with both the bed liner and tonneau cover. It was near 4:00 pm when I got
done and then made a trip to Lowe’s to pick up some more materials for work.
Cheri was busy with her Tuesday house work and then relaxed reading her novel.
She also fixed us a taco salad for dinner. It was another wonderful day God
made for us.

It was even colder this morning with a temp of 31 degrees. When I looked
outside and saw the ground all white it reminded me of the old days up north.
It did warm up to be a nice day. My first stop today was to separate a ceiling
fan so the light could be on a separate switch from the fan. My next stop was
to change smoke detector batteries. Next was where I spent most of the day
installing four can lights in a kitchen. I have to go back on Wednesday to finish
up the lighting and do some ceiling hole plastering where the old lights were.
I will also be putting in lights outside of their garage door. My last stop was to put some Black Jack sealer
on a roof repair I worked on last week. It was near 5:00 pm when I got home. Cheri
had dinner ready and waiting for me. After dinner I headed to the shower to get
cleaned up. Cheri spent the day at home and visiting our next door neighbor
Jean. The evening was spent watch shows we had recorded. Thank you God for guiding
us in our projects today.

It was 37 degrees this morning and that is cold for Florida. Grandma didn’t
go to church with us this morning as her knee is hurting her. I don’t think she
would have gone anyway because it is cold out. It did warm up later to be a
pretty nice day. After church and Sunday school Cheri and I did a little
shopping as I needed to get a few things at Harbor Freight that were on sale
and Cheri went into Ollie’s which is right next door to Harbor Freight. Also
made a stop at Lowe’s for additional materials for work. I went through
withdraw this afternoon because the race season is over and I couldn’t get the
Packer game. This evening we picked up Grandma and Jan Hughes and took them
with us to our church Christmas Party. There were 120 of us which made for a
good time and good food. We sang Christmas songs and head Pastor Mike’s testimony.
We were back home by a little pass 8:00 pm. Thank you God for the day and spending
time in your house.

Normally I don’t work away from home on Saturday but I had a few
odds and ends that I needed to finish, but I did start later as my first stop
was at 10:00 am. So today I installed a shelf, picture, and check out a leak in
the lanai roof. My next and last stop was to repair a garbage disposal and hang
a shower door. I also checked another project that I have to repair an outdoor
concrete window sill that is broken. Cheri was busy in the kitchen making barbeque
bean soup in the crockpot to have for dinner. She also went for her haircut and
then to get groceries and medicine for Grandma. So we both had a busy Saturday.
Plus it rained all day which made it miserable plus the cold front was moving
in for a cold night. The bean soup really tasted good and good to have on a
cold night.

Cheri put in a very bad night as her knee was really hurting. I
knew she left the bedroom during the night and found her in the recliner when I
got up. I was out the door at 6:10 am to attend my accountability group for
breakfast and Bible study. It was near 8:30 am when I got home and then half
hour later I headed over to Grandma’s to take her for her knee shot
appointment. We still had a long wait for the doctor but not as long as last
Friday. I also made some calls to see if I could do some work, got no answer on
two and left a message on another but never heard back. Probably was a good
thing as I had to pick up paper work that Grandma needs to fill out to see a
foot doctor. I also got her telephone and computer working again, had to reset
the modem. Then I dropped off my air compressor by Larry and Denise as he is installing
the baseboard at his sister’s place. My next stop was to get an estimate on the
car to see about getting it fixed from the accident where Cheri got hit in the
back. Then I made a stop at Home Depot and Lowe’s to get materials for another electrical
job next week. My last stop we to get a haircut. So it was 4:00 pm before I got
home. Cheri spent the day in the recliner with hot and cold heat on her knee.
She said that it did feel better this evening. Thank you God for getting us
through another day.

On
this Pearl Harbor Day, I hope you all are remembering the men and women who
died on that "Day of Infamy". If you have a flag, I hope you put it out in
honor of them. Cheri
and I were up early this morning and were sitting in Sunrise Restaurant at 7:20
am having breakfast. I had told Cheri yesterday we would go out for breakfast
today. Had plans to meet Larry at his sister’s place to remove carpet from her
bedroom and install plank flooring. While we were working on that Cheri and
Denise went shopping at Costco’s. They were back in time to make lunch for us.
Larry and I finished the flooring round 3:30 pm. All he has left to do is put
done base boards. When I got home Cheri had finished laundry and Thursday
housework. We the big breakfast and lunch so we settled for a ham sandwich for
dinner. Thank you God for the day to be with and work with friends.

No work today as we took a
day off. Larry and I left at 9:30 am for a motorcycle ride. It is the first
ride since Larry and Denise got here. Our last ride was back in April. We took
back roads up to Leesburg and made a stop at the Harley dealer. I have lost interest
in looking at the new bikes. After the 123 mile ride I am beginning to think by
motorcycle riding days are coming to an end as I don’t seem to get the thrill
out of the rides like I use to or maybe or maybe I just need to ride more to
get back into the routine. Cheri and Denise left for shopping at the same time
Larry and I left. Larry and I got home around 3:00 pm and a short time later Cheri
called and wanted to know if I wanted to go for dinner at Piccola Italia restaurant
for pizza. So Cheri and Denise pick me up and then went and picked up Larry. It
was the first time we have had pizza there. It was OK but could have been
better. After dinner we dropped Larry and Denise off and headed home to crash
as we were both every tired.

It was a busy day for the
Sharps. Cheri took the truck to the dealer early this morning to have a spot on
the tailgate buff out and to have the paint protection redone. The person that
had done it did a really bad job. The person that was supposed to have done it
wasn’t at work that day. Long story short they redid the paint protection. When
Cheri got home she had all of her Tuesday house work to do. I headed over to
Lowe’s at 7:00 am to get some additional conduit as I refigured and need an
additional piece. When I got back I loaded the tools into Bob’s truck and was
on the road for work at 8:15 am. My first stop was to check out a roof repair.
I got it fixed so it won’t leak but need to go back and do some sealing on the
spot that leaked. Then it was on the electrical project of installing and
wiring lights on the outside of the garage door. I did get that done but have
to go back and install a light control switch and make it separate from the
fan. Also a guy from across the street came over and wants me to put lights on
the outside of their garage door and install can lights in their kitchen. It
was after 6:00 pm when I got home. Cheri had dinner waiting for me. After
dinner I went out and unloaded the truck and then headed for the shower. It was
around 7:30 pm before I made it to the recliner. Thank you God for working
through our projects today.

We were more on the lazy
side this morning because we needed to wait for the insurance company to open
before we could go for the insurance on the new truck (it really isn’t a new
truck but is for us). We also made a trip to the bank and to Wal-Mart to pick
up medicine for Grandma. I dropped Cheri off at home and then headed to Lowe’s
to get materials for an electrical project I have to do tomorrow. After lunch I
got all the tools together that I need for my project tomorrow. I also did some
searching on the internet for truck box covers. After a lot of checking I ordered
a Gator Tri-Fold Tonneau cover. I also ordered a lock set for the tailgate.
After dinner we got a call from Larry and Denise inviting us over to play cards
this evening. We played a game and a half Hand, Knee, and Foot which Larry and
I won, not much fun for Cheri and Denise as it was a lopsided win.

Grandma’s knee has been
hurting and decided not to go to church today. As long as it was just two of us
we took the new truck as Cheri hadn’t rode in it. On the way home we made a
quick stop in Wal-Mart and still was home by 1:00 pm. It was time for me to
settle into the recliner and watch the rest of the Badger football game, felt
bad that they lost but was a good game. After the game it was time to watch the
Green Bay Packers play. They didn’t play very good but was good enough to win.
Cheri was busy reading and spending time on her phone. We had our usual Sunday
night pizza.

I didn’t get up until 6:30
am, I had put in a terrible night and needed the extra sleep. Cheri fixed us
pancakes for breakfast. Cheri was busy with the Friday laundry and house work.
I headed over to Grandma’s to spray around the house and repair a leak in the
roof. It was around 11:00 am when I got home. For the last couple of weeks I
have been thinking about buying a truck. After a lot of internet searching and
praying we decided to go truck shopping today. I had been thinking about and
old truck because everything is so high priced. We had decided to go to several
dealers as I didn’t care what make it had to be. God directed us to the GMC,
Buick, and Chevrolet dealer on the way to Dade City. I told the sales person
that I wanted a used single cab truck. She had only one truck that fit what we wanted.
It was a 2013 GMC Sierra work truck and it was at a price that we felt we could
afford. Long story short we are now the proud owners of a fire red truck. We
didn’t get home until after 4:00 pm. I always get really stress out when it
comes to buy a vehicle but today was different as everything went so smoothly
and it was because of God directing us to this truck. After supper we settled
in to watch TV. The Badger football game was on but couldn’t stay awake to
watch the whole game. So tomorrow I will watch the rest of it.

OK who ran off with
November? Can’t believe it is December already. I took Grandma for her 9:30 am
doctor’s appointment to have a shot in her knee. I dread going to this doctor
because she is always late and today was no different. We didn’t get to see the
doctor until 11:10 am. I talked to the nurse about her being late and she told
me she has work 22 years for her and is always late. So I guess it wouldn’t
have done any good for me to say something to her. It was 11:45 am before I got
home. I had made an appointment with Ron and Sandy to install a new WYFI thermostat
for them. Things went well until it was time to connect it to the internet. Ron
tried three or four time with no luck and about that time Sandy came home and
told him he was using the wrong password. So a short time later he had it
connected and everything seems to be working correctly. It was near 4:00 pm
when I got home and time to get cleaned up for the 6:00 pm Christmas party we
were going to this evening. We had a lot of good food and time for visiting. We
had a good time and was back home by 8:30 pm. Thank you God for a blessed day
to spend with you and good friends.

Cheri started her laundry
and then took Grandma for her doctor’s appointment this morning. I worked
outside trying get my shop and work area cleaned up I worked until noon and
doesn’t look like I got much done. This afternoon I took Grandma for another
doctor’s appointment. Cheri finished the laundry and Thursday house work. When
I got home we called Larry and Denise and told them we would be over as we are
going to Sam’s Club. I am going to buy a couple steel cabinets to put in my new
work area. Being Larry and Denise have a truck they offered to haul them home
for us. Of course there were many other things that we bought while we were
there. It was 4:30 pm by the time we got things unloaded and ready to come
home. I knew Cheri wouldn’t feel like cooking when we got home so we stopped at
Jersey Mike’s and got a philly cheese steak sandwich to take home for our
dinner. Then settled in for an evening of TV. Thank you God for giving us a
great day.

I didn’t have to go to
work today so I slept in and didn’t get up until 6:30 am. Cheri also slept in
which was good as she has been having trouble getting a good night’s sleep. Cheri
worked in her sewing room this forenoon. I work outside all day. First I washed
the windshield on the inside of Bob’s truck as it was so dirty that when
driving into the sun you could hardly see where you were going. While I was at
it I washed all the windows in our car. I also removed all the old solar light
ropes on the awnings and install new solar ropes. After lunch Cheri head out to
get a few things and medicine that Grandma needed. I went to work on putting up
the Christmas lights. Shortly after Cheri left I get a call from her that at
the park exit she got hit from behind by a pickup that was following her out of
the park. No one was hurt and minimal damage to the back of our car. The police
were called and said that they wouldn’t do anything because it happened on
private property. After getting the insurance information from the guy that hit
her Cheri continued to Wal-Mart and I went back to the Christmas lights. I also
got the rain gutters cleaned out. After Cheri got home I took the car through
the car wash and when I got home I checked the rear of the car and there was
more damage than I thought there was. This evening Larry and Denise came over
to play Hand, Knee, and foot which we have only played once since they left in
April. It is good to have Larry and Denise back in Florida for the winter.

I left for work at my
usual 8:45 am. Today I had a TV to install and a toilet to repair. But when I
got there Donnie and Deloris had a list of other things that they wanted me to
do. Deloris wasn’t happy with the paint job that was done on their front door
and I may be doing a repaint on it. They are going to see if they can get the
guy that painted to come back. I went over to the house that I have been
working at to get the garbage disposal unstuck but the home owner had worked on
it and now it doesn’t run apparently they tried and now have burned out the
motor. So I probably will be installing a new one. I also checked out an
electrical job that will be doing next week. I was back home by 3:30 pm, nice
to be home earlier. Cheri was busy doing house work and a trip to Wal-Mart that
she said very busy and hard to get around. We had the last of the Thanksgiving
turkey on toast with gravy, still very good but glad to be done with it. It was
another evening with TV and some Christmas candy to snack on. Thank you God for
a blessed day.

Cheri and I were both busy
today working around home trying to get some projects done here. Cheri had
laundry and cleaning to do from when Nikki was here. She also was busy in the
kitchen making clam chowder and turkey salad sandwiches to take over to Mike
and Pam’s as Pam was having surgery on her hand today and we are going to take
the chowder and sandwiches over to their place at 5:00 pm. I worked on the
fence project today and got it finished, happy to have it done and had been on
the list to do back in February when I first got the fence panels. I also assembled
the work bench that I bought on Thanksgiving Day. It took longer than I thought
it would as I had to make a trip to Lowe’s for some lag bolts as the ones that
came with the bench wouldn’t work. Larry and Denise stopped over for a visit
and Larry helped me finish the work bench. At 4:45 pm we headed over to Mike
and Pam’s with the chowder and sandwiches to have dinner with them. Pam did
have her surgery and had a nerve block so she had no feeling in her arm from
the shoulder down. We had a good visit with them as it has been sometime since
we were last together. When we got home we decided to just go to bed and watch
TV there. It was 48 degrees this morning and was pretty cool working outside
but warmed up to be a wonderful day. Thank you God for all of your blessings.

It was a normal Sunday
taking Grandma to church and Sunday school with us. After dropping Grandma off
at home we made a stop at Publix’s as Cheri had a couple of things she needed
for tomorrow. We were home by 1:00 pm. Cheri did do a couple loads of laundry
this afternoon. Other than that we spent the rest of the day relaxing and
trying to get caught up on the TV shows we have recorded. We had the usual
Sunday evening pizza for dinner. The Packer football game was a late game that
didn’t start until 8:30 pm. Cheri was tired and went to bed early but I stayed
up and watched the game. The Packers played a good game but ended up losing. It
was 11:30 pm when I crawled into bed.

I didn’t get up until a
little passed 6:00 am. I was awake at 5:00 am but could get my body out of bed.
This was our last morning with Nikki as her time with us has come to an end.
After Nikki got her bag packed she and Cheri spent time relaxing. I went
outside to work on the fence project. I had to quit at 12:30 pm and get cleaned
up to take Nikki and Sherry to the airport. Sherry leaves at 4:07 pm and Nikki
leaves at 6:10 pm. So we all left for the airport at 1:30 pm in order to have
time for check in and security. We dropped Sherry off at her airline and then
went and parked in the short term parking. We checked Nikki’s bag and got her
boarding pass. Then Jan, Cheri, Nikki and I went for a late lunch and early
dinner at the Hard Rock café in the terminal. After out meal it was time to say
our goodbyes to Nikki and head for home. Sherry and Jan had driven to our place
so we didn’t have to take Jan home. It was time to head for the recliners to
relax and watch the Badger football game. We snacked on some Christmas candy
while watching some of the shows we had recorded. Thank you God for our safe

We had a good day. Cheri
and Nikki got all the fall decorations put away and all the Christmas
decorations out so the house looks a lot like Christmas. It was an all day job
for them. I left the house at 6:10 am to have breakfast with my accountability group
in Dade City. I was surprised as it being the day after Thanksgiving I thought
maybe some of them might not be there but we were all there. I was back home
around 8:15 am. Cheri and Nikki were just getting ready to have breakfast. I
headed to the bathroom to get cleaned up for the day. I made a call to see
about getting an appointment with the dermatologist and can’t get in until
Feb-20th. We also had a problem with our insurance reimbursement and
made a call to get that straighten out. Next it was time to make a call to see
about our outdoor Nest camera. It hasn’t worked since hurricane Erma. I had
uninstalled it and when I tried to reinstall it nothing would work. Well I
found out that when you install it with the cell phone you can’t plug it in the
computer for power. I thought I was going to have to send it in for repair but
a very nice young lady helped me get it set up and working again. After all of
this it was time for lunch. After lunch I went next door to see Mike as he has
a project he wants to do and wanted to run it by me to see if I thought it
would work. Next I made a trip to Lowe’s to return several things that I had
bought for projects that I didn’t need. Then after all of this I worked on the
fence project and got the last gate assembled, by the time I was done with that
it was 4:00 pm. Cheri and Nikki had gone over to pick up Grandma and brought
her back here for dinner and to play some games. Just before it was time to
take Grandma home Cheri called me into the bathroom to show me that the toilet
flush lever in the toilet had broken. So after dropping Grandma off it was a
trip back to Lowe’s to get the repair part. It only took a few minutes to get
the toilet back working again. After all of this it was time to settled in and
watch some TV before calling it a night. Thank you God for guiding us through
another day.

I pray that everyone had a
wonderful Thanksgiving. We have so much to be thankful for in this country. It
is a long way from where it should be but still is the best place in this shameful
world. At 7:30 am this morning I went shopping at Rural King. They had a work
bench that I wanted and got the last one. I couldn’t believe all the people
that was in the store. I had to wait over half hour in line to check out. Cheri
and Nikki prepared a really good Thanksgiving dinner with turkey and all the trimmings.
There were eight of us for dinner. We had Grandma, Larry & Denise, and Jan
& Sherry here. We had a good time visiting. This evening we got a video
call from Darren. Got to see Wyatt running around, he is a busy boy. At his
other Grandpa and Grandma he has figured out that you need keys to unlock the
door and he was taking the keys over to the door trying to unlock the door.
Darren has been really good about doing video calls so we can see how he has
grown and the new things he has figured out how to do. After the video call I
took Grandma home and then we settled in for an evening of TV. God blessed us
with family and friends to be together this Thanksgiving.

I forgot to mention
yesterday while power washing. I had just got started and the power washer lost
pressure. It was acting like it wasn’t getting water. I checked the water faucet
and it was turned on all the way. So I shut down the power washer and removed
the water hose and found a frog in the filter screen. I had used the customers
hose and apparently a small frog had crawled in. So with the frog removed
everything was good again. Today I was back working on the house that is going
to be up for sale and was doing more things to get it ready for the sale. I
worked six hours and now have everything done except for power washing the lanai,
driveway, and repair a large screen in the lanai. On the way home I dropped off
a couple of TV’s at the recycle center and cost me ten dollars to get rid of
them. I was home by 4:00 pm and ready for a shower and the recliner. Cheri and
Nikki had been busy today cooking but found time to make a trip to Lakeland to
do some shopping. Cheri fixed us lasagna and Texas toast for dinner plus had
cookies and candy for dessert. It was another wonderful day God made for us.

Cheri and Nikki were out

just opened up the first Tuesday in November and Cheri wanted to take Nikki.
They both came home with a few things. Then they worked the rest of the day
making Christmas candy. I left at 8:30 am to power wash a driveway. It was a
bigger driveway and took a little longer than I thought it would but all went
well and was back home by 1:00 pm. I spent the rest of the afternoon on my
fence project. I have one more gate to make and install plus one smaller panel
and the project will be done. This evening we met Ron and Sandy at Pancho’s
Villa in San Antonio for Mexican. It gave Ron and Sandy a chance to see Nikki.
The food was very good. We were back home by 7:00 pm and settled in for an
evening of TV. I was really tired and couldn’t stay up to watch “Dancing with
the Stars”. So I headed to bed early and left Cheri and Nikki to watch the

I didn’t plan on any work
away from home today as I needed to take Grandma for her lab appointment at 11:15
am. Which was good because I could work on the fence this morning. Well when I
went out it was 46 degrees and a stiff breeze and decided that it was too cold
(yes I know I am a wimp). All of our northern friends probably think we have
lived too long in Florida. But I am here to tell you it is much better than the
cold winters in the north. When I got back from Grandma’s appointment it was
warm enough to work on the fence. Although I didn’t have much time to work on
it as I had to leave 2:00 pm with Jan to the airport to pick up her daughter Sherry
who is coming in from Pittsburg at 3:00 pm to spend a few days. We had taken
Jan car because Cheri and Nikki needed our car to do some shopping. Nikki and
Cheri made some Christmas candy today and will do more tomorrow. They used to
get together and make a lot of Christmas candy every year but after we retired
we weren’t around to do it anymore. When they came home from shopping they
brought Grandma with them. It was after 4:00 pm when I got home but still went
out and worked on the fence for a while. This evening Cheri and Nikki watched
Dancing with the Stars. I napped through the first hour but was awake for the
free style dancing. Cheri was happy that Drew was the one that got voted off.

We picked up Grandma at

different this morning. All the pews are gone and we have new carpet and new

dropped Grandma off at home and we got home around 12:30 pm. Cheri and Nikki
headed out shopping and to pick up groceries and medicine for Grandma. I
repaired a screen for a project I am working on this week. I also did a little
maintenance on the power washer as I have a power washing job on Tuesday. Then
it was back to work on the fencing project. By 4:00 pm I was ready for the
recliner and to watch the last NASCR race of the season. I wasn’t able to watch

received a text that she was at the belt waiting for her luggage. Her plane got

I am still getting up at
5:00 am. Actually I am getting used to it and gives me more time to get things
ready for work plus more Bible study time in the morning when my mine is fresh
and easier for me to understand Gods word. I would start work earlier but the
people I have been working for are retired and most don’t get around early so
starting at 9:30 am seem to work the best. My first stop was to check out a
dishwasher that wasn’t pumping all of the water out. I am pretty sure the
washer was somewhere between 15 and 20 years old. I checked the drain and didn’t
find anything that would keep it from draining. My next stop was to remove the
concrete forms from my project yesterday. The concrete looked good and I then cleaned
up the side of the lanai where cement splattered. I plumbed the outside air
conditioner drain to match the hot water heater drain. Then it was time to caulk
around the bathtub. On the way home I stopped by Bob’s place to pick up the
screening I need for a window screen that needs to be repaired. This evening we
planned on going to Brandon to see the movie “Genesis Paradise Lost”. We had
planned on eating at a Jessie’s which is a restaurant that we hadn’t eat at
before but got on the road a little too late so ended up eating at Jersey Mike’s.
The movie was about if God really existed or was the world made from the big
bang. A good movie for people that aren’t sure, but for Cheri and me we already
know everything was made by God.

I had a concrete job

I forgot how much work it is. Well after today my memory is better and now
remember why I said that I wouldn’t do concrete work anymore. The project did
go well but I didn’t plan for enough concrete and had to make a quick trip into
San Antonio for three additional bags. I also removed old chalking from around
a bathtub and tomorrow I will do the new chalking. I quit work early as we are
having company over for dinner this evening. So I needed to get home and
cleaned up before they arrived. Cheri was busy in the kitchen today getting
everything prepared for our dinner this evening. Rick and Gloria arrived at
3:30 pm and we had a nice visit before dinner and then after dinner we continued

Cheri and I were able to
have coffee together this morning before I left for work at 8:00 am. I left
early so I could make a stop at Home Depot to buy a new tool for installing
water lines to sinks. After all the years I have done it without the right

today was doing plaster patching, hang closet door so it would stayed on the
track, remove and install new kitchen light, fix bath room exhaust fan, and hang
blinds in the kitchen. I was back home at 4:00 pm and unloaded Bob’s truck and
then went to Lowe’s to pick up the materials I need for tomorrow. I also made a
stop at Harbor Freight to get a new wheel for my wheelbarrow. It was a more
relaxing work day as everything went well. Cheri was busy doing her Tuesday
house work. Jean came over for a visit with Cheri. I think she also spent some
time in the sewing room. Cheri fixed us broccoli cheese soup for dinner. We
finished the evening watching shows we had recorded. Thank you God for another
blessed day.

It was and interesting day,
things didn’t go all that well but managed to get through the day. I left the
house at 8:45 am to do a plumbing job. I had to plumb a new kitchen sink that
was installed using all the things from the old sink. Normal you do a lot of
the installation before the sink goes in but that wasn’t case for me. So the
project took a little longer than I thought it would. My next project was to
power wash a lanai which turned out to be a bigger job than I thought it would
be. Normal it would take an hour to do washing but this one was so bad that it
took 2 ½ hours. Plus I was having some problems with the power washer. So I
didn’t get home until 3:30 pm. Our sun room has been a catch all the last few
months and was time to get it cleaned out. All the things that we are storing
for Darren and Brooke was been stored there. Well I thought that our storage
room was full but Cheri found room for all of their stuff. I had put all the
fencing in sun room before the hurricane so it needed to be taken back out to
the carport. So once again it looks presentable. Cheri also did some grocery
shopping today as I had Bob’s truck for work.

Cheri told me this morning
that we went to Dunkin Donuts and not Drunken Donuts yesterday, my spelling
mistake which I do make a lot of. Grandma didn’t go to church with us today as
she went with to a different church with friends from her park. I haven’t been
very happy with our new music pastor as the music is way too loud and I don’t
enjoy repeat singing the same thing several times over and over. I have been
told that it is the new way music is presented in churches. Pastor Randy had a
good message on Love. Sunday school was excellent as we are studying the book
of Exodus and Charlie does a great job of teaching us. After Sunday school we
to see Donnie and Deloris (People that I did all the electrical work for). Deloris
and a couple of other people were having a craft sale at their house. It gave
Cheri a chance to meet Donnie and Deloris. Cheri did find something to buy.
While she was checking out all the craft things Donnie showed me another job he
wants me to do, putting a 3’ by 4’ concrete slab outside the lanai door. On the
way home we made a stop at Michel’s, Cheri is looking for a pencil Christmas
tree. She didn’t find any that she liked. When we got home I spent some time
getting Bob’s truck ready with tools and supplies for work tomorrow. After
having Pizza for dinner Cheri settled in with a book and me watching the NASCAR
race. It was a good day spending time with God.

Today is Veterans Day, I
hope you took time to thank a veteran for his or her service. After breakfast
and coffee Cheri and I headed out. I dropped Cheri off at Wal-Mart to pick up a
few things while I went for a haircut. Being it is Veterans Day my haircut was
free. After I picked up Cheri we headed to Dade City where we met Mike and Pam
at a shop called Treasured Friends. Every year they put on a lunch for their customers
and is always very good. Mike and I found a spot where we could visit while
Cheri and Pam shopped. After lunch we went to Drunken Donuts for coffee and a
free donut for Mike and me. We sat in the corner where it was quiet and had a
good visit. It has been over two month since we have been with Mike and Pam. It
was around 1:00 pm when we got home. Cheri settled in with her book and I went
out and worked on the fence gate. I finished the gate around 4:00 pm. It looks
good and will be glad when the rest of the fence is done. I settled in and
watched the Wisconsin Badger football game I was recording. Cheri fixed us an
egg biscuit sandwich for dinner as we had a big lunch and not all that hungry.

This month seem to be
flying by, maybe because I have been busy with work. Cheri got her Friday laundry
going and then went for her hair appointment and shopping. I took Bob’s truck
for work today as I figured I might get a call to do some power washing while I
was in the neighborhood. My electrical project consisted of removing three
electrical outlets and installing one new one. Things went well and was done in
two hours. I got back home at 12:30 pm to eat the lunch that Cheri packed for
me. After lunch I worked on my fence project. I got one gate made and ready to
install. It took me longer than I thought it would to put the gate together.
The next two will go faster as I know how to do it now. Cheri came home while I
was working on the fence and she helped with the panels. I quit at 4:00 pm. We
had leftover roast beef and gravy on toast for dinner. After dinner we settled
in to watch some shows we had recorded. Sure nice to have the DVR so we don’t
have to watch the commercials.

I was getting ready to
leave for work this morning and I see Cheri fixing me a lunch to take with me.
I told her I didn’t need any lunch because I would be home before noon. She
said I should take it because someone will come along and want their driveway power
washed too. Well it pays to listen to you wife because while I was setting up
to power wash the driveway two other people came along and wanted their
driveways done. Long story short I ended up doing three driveways. I was done
by 2:30 pm. I just ready to head home when my phone rang. A lady was calling
with an electrical problem and want to know if I could fix it. So I stopped
over at her place. She is happing some base cabinets in her kitchen reworked
and has three outlets that need to be removed. So I made an appointment with
her for tomorrow morning at 9:30 am. I am going to take Bob’s truck with the
power wash as I was told that a letter was sent out saying that there are 120
driveways that need to be power washed. It was 3:30 pm when I arrived home sure
glad Cheri fixed me the lunch. Cheri was busy doing laundry this morning as
long as she had the car she went shopping. We had leftover roast beef for
dinner and then settled in for an evening of TV. It was more napping then TV
for me. Thank you God for the many blessing you have given us today.

I was up at 5:00 am which
seems to be my normal time for getting up, which is good so I can spend more
time with breakfast, coffee, and Bible study before going to work. Cheri was
busy with her Wednesday house work, working in the sewing room, and reading her
book. I left for work at 8:45 am. I had a good day as I finished my electrical
job and Donnie and Deloris were happy with what I did, another satisfied customer.
It was around 2:00 pm when I got home. I got right to unloading the car and
then got the power washer loaded into Bob’s truck as I have a driveway and walk
way to power wash tomorrow. I also spent some time working on the carport
fence. I quit at 4:00 pm and headed for the shower. We had leftover pizza for
dinner. Cheri heats it up in the frying pan which makes it like fresh made
pizza. It was another evening of TV and mostly napping for me. Thank you God
for a blessed day.

It was another good day
for us. Cheri was busy doing her Tuesday house work and spending time in her
sewing room. She also got beef roast, potatoes, onions, and carrots going in
the crockpot to have for dinner along with some fresh bake rolls. I left for
work at 8:45 am, still working on the electrical project. I got the rest of the
ceiling fans installed and more outlets installed. I also fixed a noisy fan in
the guest bedroom. I thought I was going to get done today but because of a
change in plans I have to get some additional materials. So I will finish
tomorrow. I stopped on the way home at Lowe’s to get the materials. It was a
little past 5:00 pm when I arrived home. I headed for the shower to get cleaned
up before dinner. The pot roast dinner was excellent. Cheri and I have been
searching for a new king size bed. We did some searching on the internet and
found one that we think will work. The company doesn’t sell direct. Cheri
called Southern Hospitality to see if they could order it for us. They said
they could and it will be four to six weeks before we find out if we made the
right decision. The evening was catching up on the shows we have recorded.
Thank you God for another blessed day.

I was up extra early as I
haven’t got into the new time routine. I left for work at 8:45 am, still
working on the electrical project. Donnie has added a couple additional
electrical outlets that I have to install. I had a good day as I got two of the
ceiling fans installed along with a few other things. I worked until 4:00 pm
and made a stop at Lowe’s on the way home for some additional materials I
needed. It was 5:00 pm when I got home and ready for a shower before dinner.
Cheri was busy in her sewing room along with reading her book. Jean came over
today to visit with Cheri. This evening Cheri watched Dancing with the Stars
and I went to the bedroom to watch the Green Bay Packers play the Detroit
Lions. Cheri came to bed before the game was over and I continued to watch
until the last six minutes of the game as I was pretty sure that it was going
to be a lost for Green Bay.

Sunday, the day we spend
time with God, church, and Sunday school friend while learning more about God
and his word. Grandma went to church with us. After Sunday school we dropped
Grandma off at home and then headed to Wesley Chapel with our dresser drawer to
see if the color would match the bed we found at Havertys. The bad news is it
was not a color match and nothing else came close. The next step for us is to
see if we can find the company that made our dresser and night stands to see if
we can order a matching bed. On the way home we stopped and checked Larry and
Denise’s house and all is good. We also stopped at Wal-Mart to get Grandma’s
groceries. By the time all was said and done it was 4:00 pm when we got home.
We got a call from Ron and Sandy wanting us to meet them at Pizza Hut for pizza
at 5:00 pm. The pizza was good and had a wonderful visit with Ron and Sandy. We
were back home around 6:30 pm and time to settle in and watch the NASCAR race I
had recorded. Cheri settled in with the book she has been reading.

The day didn’t go the way
I had planned it but all turned out ok. I planned on working on the fence under
the carport. But the hinges I ordered on line would work with the fence I bought.
I had been to Lowe’s before I ordered the hinges on line and they didn’t have
anything that would work for me. Well I went back to the computer and did
another search and found the exact hinges I needed. Lowe’s in Plant City had
them in stock and planned on going there to get them but checked again with our
Lowe’s on line and said that they had 16 in stock. So off to Lowe’s again to
get the hinges. While I was doing all of this Cheri had gone grocery shopping
and came home depressed as she had to do a lot of waiting at the deli and at
checkout. When she got home I was still working on fence layout and changed the
way I am going to do it. I had to quit early as we had an appointment to get
the car serviced at the dealership in Wesley Chapel. So I dropped Cheri off so
she could shop while I took care of the car. After this was done we headed to
Ashley Furniture to look at beds, no luck there. Next we stopped at Havertys
Furniture and found a bed that we liked but forgot to bring the drawer to see
if it would match what we have. So we plan on going back tomorrow with the
drawer. We stopped at BJ’s for dinner. We always have the half price appetizers
but on Saturdays they don’t have them. We decided to go ahead and eat there as
it would take time to go to another place. Vary pricey when you pay full
amount, that won’t happen again. When we got home I settled in to watch the
Wisconsin Badger football that I recorded and Cheri settled in with her book.

I was out the door at 6:10
am headed to Dade City for my accountability group breakfast and Bible study.
We are starting to study the book of Acts. I was back home by 8:00 am and got
ready to leave at 8:30 am for my electrical work project. I had another good
day and got the rest of the wiring run and started installing the electrical
outlets and switches. I quit at 3:30 pm as I had another job to check out at
4:00 pm. The job consist of hanging closet door and shower door, plaster
repair, new bathroom sink fixtures, new kitchen light, hang blinds, repair
patio screen, power wash patio, and power wash driveway. Plan on starting late
next week. It was close to 5:00 pm when I got home. Cheri finished bed laundry,
worked in her sewing room, read in her book, and made a new recipe called
crockpot slop along with yeast biscuits for dinner. The crockpot slop doesn’t
sound good but was excellent. The evening was spent watching TV shows we had
recorded. Thank you God for giving us another great day.

Another busy day. Cheri doing
the laundry and working in her sewing room. She also fixed a new recipe of
green bean casserole for dinner this evening. I left the house at 8:15 am and
made a quick stop at Lowe’s on my way to today’s electrical project. Things went
really well and got the electrical cable installed through the attic which was
a big job. Also got the layout done where the ceiling fans will be installed.
They had a new air conditioner installed about three weeks ago and only worked
for a week and had the service people there three time and kept changing different
things and as of today it still isn’t working and told him that the wiring
needed to be changed. So Donnie ask me if I would look at it. Well within 10
minutes I had it working, all that was wrong was some loose wires that needed
to be tighten. I worked until 4:00 pm and then made a stop to install an air
conditioner filter for a customer on the way home. Then I made a stop at Lowe’s
to get additional materials I need for tomorrow. Long story short it was 6:00
pm when I finally got home. Headed to shower as I was sweaty and dirty from
crawling around in the attic. After dinner (The green bean casserole was really
good) we settled in for an evening of TV. Me napping more than watching.

Another month gone and
time to look forward to Thanksgiving. I started power washing the house at 8:00
am as I needed to get it finished before going to work in Tampa Bay golf community.
I had an entry way that needed to have the plaster repaired and some plaster
repair in the living room. It only took an hour and half to complete the
project. So I was back home by 1:30 pm. Time to clean out the car and get
together the tools I need for tomorrows project. I made a trip to the bank for
Grandma and then took the car through the car wash as it has been well over a
month since the last wash job. I really need to do a detail cleaning inside car
but that is going to have to wait a while. I also went to Lowe’s to get the
Materials I need for the electrical work I will be doing for the next few days.
When I got back home I made a couple cable reels for the electrical wire so it
will unwind better. By the time I was done with everything it was 6:00 pm. Cheri
spent the day in her sewing room. After dinner we settled in for an evening of
TV.

Happy Halloween, hope the goblins didn’t scare you. We had one ugly looking
guy come and bang on our window. He had me wondering who it was and turned out
to be our neighbor. It was another cold morning of 43 degrees but warmed up to
be a very nice day in the high 70’s. Cheri was busy doing her Tuesday house work
and then spent the rest of the day in her sewing room working on a new quilt
project. I got a call early this morning as a customer had to cancel our 9:30
am appointment and to call him later this afternoon. So I had a little extra
time before I had to leave for work. My first protect was to repair the roof
that I had checked on a couple days ago. It took me until noon to finish the
roof. Next I went to the place where I had installed ceiling fans along with several
other things. They want me to do the electrical work in there new patio extension.
After checking in the attic to see about running the wiring I decide to do the
job. I hope I haven’t gotten myself into something I can’t handle. Also checked
another couple’s house as they need some ceiling repair work done in the
entryway and dining room ceiling which I plan on doing tomorrow. Then I got a
call from a lady that wanted her toilet repaired has it was leaking and said
the she had the repair parts. But after checking it out she had the wrong parts
and is going to get the right ones and then give me a call. My last stop was to
check out a price on installing two lights on the outside of the house by the
garage door. It is going to be another big job and told them it would be a
couple of weeks before I could do it and they said that was OK. It was around
4:00 pm when I got home. It was a busy day but felt good when I got home. After
dinner we settled in to watch some TV shows we had recorded. I slept through
most of the shows and decided it was time to call it a night. Thank you God for
another good day.

First I want to wish our daughter Nikki a happy birthday. It was 41 degrees
here this morning and cold getting the car loaded with the tools I need for my
days’ work. My first stop was to give an estimate on some touch up painting,
taping and plaster, and power washing driveway and patio. My next stop was to
check out a leaking patio roof. It was repaired five weeks ago but the guy that
did the repair didn’t do it correctly. So I will have to buy the materials I
need to repair it, maybe I can work on it tomorrow. My next stop was to do some
caulking around some base board, rework some cabinet doors that wasn’t install
correctly, and install an under cabinet light. On the way home I stopped at
Lowe’s to pick up the materials I need for tomorrows work. Cheri went next door
to visit with Jean this morning. Then Cheri spent a lot of time in the kitchen
making some apple cinnamon rolls. She also put together a chicken Fajita
casserole from a recipe she found on line to have for dinner this evening along
with some fried bread dough. It was very good and have enough for a couple more
meals. This evening we settled in to watch Dancing with the Stars and were
surprised that it was a double elimination.

Grandma went to church with us today. Pastor Randy had a good message
today. Charlie also did an excellent job presenting the Sunday school lesson.
After Sunday school the three of us along with Dick and Linda went out for
lunch at Sonny’s BBQ. It was our treat for them picking us up at the airport
from out trip to Mexico. When we got home we changed clothes and then made a
trip to Rooms To Go discount center to check on a new bed, no luck there. We also
stopped at Badcock furniture in Zephyrhills and no luck there. Our next stop
was Rural King to check on a light for a customer I am doing work for. The light
I seen in there I thought would work but after checking it out I wouldn’t be
able to mount it probably so went to Lowe’s where I found one that should work.
When we got home Cheri settled in with her book and I watching the NASCAR race
that I was recording. We had our usual Sunday night pizza for dinner. The temp
today was a little warner but the stiff breeze still made it cold enough that
we needed a jacket.

Normally we have cereal for breakfast but this morning Cheri fixed us
bacon, eggs, hash browns, and toast along with orange juice and coffee. It
doesn’t get any better than that. My plan for today was to finish getting the
house power washed. But after getting the side of the house done I ran out of
energy and could do any more power washing today. All that is left to do is the
back of the house and shed. Next I worked on the project of the rear brakes on
the car that I had started late yesterday. Cheri was busy doing her dusting and
ironing. No lunch today as we had the big breakfast. After resting for a bit we
headed to Lakeland to Pier One Imports. Cheri had seen a painting at Chris and
Cheryl’s that she liked and found out the Cheryl had bought it at Pier One. She
called Pier One and they had one in stock. But when she looked at it the colors
were a little different from the one that Cheryl had. So she passed on buying
it. We also made a stop at a furniture store looking for a new king size bed.
We didn’t have any luck on finding what Cheri wanted. Our next stop was Harbor
Freight to pick up new outside rope lights for the house as the old ones were
looking pretty bad. We also went to Plant City to check on beds at Southern
Hospitality, no luck there either. It was around 4:30 pm when we got home. It
was time for me to settle in and watch the Wisconsin Badger football game that
I had recorded and Cheri with a new book she is reading.
