I was awake at 5:00 am but didn’t feel like getting up so stayed in until about 6:15 am. I was done with the blog before Darren got up. Didn’t have any breakfast not even any coffee for the last two days. We had an early lunch of turkey and cheese sandwich with some chips. This afternoon we went to Home Depot, sure is a lot different than the ones in the states. We bought an additional fan to help move the air. Also got some screening to put up on the patio to keep Wyatt from falling through and him from dropping toys over the side. When we got home I worked on putting the screening around the patio. Also a guy came to fix the air conditioner, a guy to fix the garage door, and the pool guy. So it was really busy around here for a while. Darren went down to old town to get something for supper, things were close so came back with some more sandwich meat. So it was a ham and cheese sandwich with chips and a beer. The beer was so good that I had a second one, only because it was so hot. That is my story and I am sticking to it.

Last night sunset, not very pretty but got to see it.

The after sunset.

If you have read yesterday’s blog you already know that we drove straight through and got here at 5:15 am. We checked out the house with realtor. Darren has to go around and make list of things that need to be done with pictures so that they can’t make him pay for something that he didn’t do. We got the car unloaded and everything carried up to the third floor. It was really only one flight of stairs has you come in at the second floor level. Darren is busy getting things unpacked. He also made a trip to Wal-Mart to see about a highchair and crib for Wyatt. He didn’t have any luck finding something. So Brooke is going to order something on line and have it delivered. I took a badly needed shower and got myself cleaned up while Darren was gone. Can’t drink the water so he bought a water delivery service with a water cooler. I did lay down for a while and took a short nap. I think I feel worse than I did before the nap, we had chicken and cheese sandwiched for lunch along with some chips. Darren and I both laid down this afternoon for a nap. It is hot here this afternoon and even the breeze is very warm. We found that there is no remote for the air conditioner, so no cooling. The air conditioner in Darren’s bedroom does work but the one in my bedroom doesn’t work. Supposed to be someone coming tomorrow to fix it. This evening we walked down to old town to have tacos for dinner and then walked on down to the beach, couldn’t believe all the people that were there. We took a cab back to the house as it is too steep of a walk back and hundreds of steps to climb. We watched the sunset and then called it a night.

We were up at 4:00 am and on our way by 5:05 am with a cup of coffee for me and a Red Bull for Darren. About 40 miles from Laredo TX to fill up with gas and had a Subway breakfast, not to our liking but it was something to eat. It cost us $3.50 at the US border to get in Mexico. Next we weren’t sure where to go to get the Mexico paper work done. We stopped at money exchange Where Darren got some money exchanged and ask a guy that was there for money exchange if he knew where to go and he said he was on his way there and we could follow him. I waited in the car with Harper while Darren went in to get his paper work done. When he came back it was my turn. Long story short it took us three hours, long lines to wait in. We had eighteen miles to drive before crossing through Mexican customs and figured we would be tied up there for an hour or more. But when we got there they just waved us on through without stopping. We had another good day as the 4 runner ran well and no problems. We did drive through a lot of rain in the afternoon, also hail and then a dust storm and more rain. We had planned on staying at Guadalajara for the night. Well it was 12:30 am when we got there and would be well after 1:00 am before getting settled in a room. So we made the decision to drive straight though to Puerto Vallarta and arrived at 5:15 am. We stopped at Wal-Mart which is open 24 hours a day. Darren pick up a few things we needed this morning. It was 6:30 am when we got to Darren and Brooke’s new place. At 7:00 am Darren texted the realtor and she came right over with the keys so we could get in. This is the reason that the Blog is late today. I will try to have pictures posted tomorrow.

Was up at 4:00 am. After a couple of cups of coffee and packing the last few things Darren and I were on the road by 5:25 am. At our second stop for gas I check to see what kind of mileage we got with the 4 Runner and checked out to be 18.1 miles per gallon doing 75 and 80 miles per hour. I thought that was great for 20 year old vehicle. We made few stopped for gas, food, and to walk Harper. Harper rode pretty good for not having a long ride for five years. We had excellent weather all day. We got into San Antonio TX at 10:15 pm and traveled 1018 miles. We are staying at the Best Western and got the last room they had. God was looking out us and guiding us today, Thank you God.

I was up at 5:00 am and not long Darren came out with Wyatt. Brooke and Wyatt left at 6:30 am. Darren and I took Harper to doggie day care for the day along with a bath before we leave in the morning. After dropping Harper off we went to the Waffle House for breakfast. Then back to Chris and Sheryl’s to move everything that is supposed to go in the 4 Runner. I have posted a picture of everything that Darren wants to take to Mexico. Nothing can go in the back seat because of Harper’s size she need the whole backseat. We went and bought a couple of new suitcases so Brooke can pack what we couldn’t get in the 4 runner and take them on the air plane with her. Darren found a few more things that needs to go and are going to try and fit them in this evening. We plan on leaving here at 5:00 am in the morning to get ahead of the morning traffic.
This is what we want to get into the 4 Runer

Almost full.

This is all that is left that didn't fit.

We were up at 3:30 am getting ready for Mike and Pam to pick us up at 4:45 am to take me to the airport. Seems strange for someone taking me to the airport as it is always Cheri and me taking someone. Things went well at the airport got through security with only a waited for four people ahead of me. Every seat on the plane was filled and left on time. Arrived in Atlanta around 9:00 am. It took me a while to find my way to the baggage claim but was right next door to the MARTA (train) station. I got there just at the right time as the train I needed was just ready to leave the station, not that it made a lot of different because there is a train about every half hour. Darren called just as I sat down on the train and wanted to know how things was going and told him that he could pick me up at 10:25 am. Then we drove over to where Darren works and I took the car to Chris and Sheryl’s with a stop for lunch on the way. I called Cheri to let her know everything went well. I spent the afternoon napping and watching TV. Chris got home around 3:30 pm. We had a nice visit before Brooke and Wyatt got home. Then later Darren came. It was after 7:00 pm before Sheryl got home. Darren and I went to Publix’s to pick up sub sandwiches for supper. I sent Cheri pictures of me and Wyatt. By 10:00 pm I was ready to call it a night.

Cheri got some laundry going right away this morning so I would have the clothes I need for my trip to Mexico. Cheri had an appointment this morning so I stayed home and did some drone studying. After she got home we got a call from Ron and Sandy wanting to meet us for lunch at the Sunrise Restaurant. After lunch we took the picture quilt and bag over to Mike and Kathy’s as Cheri made it for Kathy. She was thrilled with it and took some pictures. They told us about their trip to Oklahoma to be with their granddaughter for her first birthday. Also got to see pictures. When we got home we finished getting my bag packed for the trip. We watched a movie before it was time for Cheri to fix clam chowder for supper. After supper we settled in for an evening of TV. No rain today but still very hot and humid.

It was very humid out for the morning walk. After breakfast, coffee, Bible study, and showers Cheri and I went to the bank and Wal-Mart to pick up groceries and medicine for Grandma. We also bought a couple of ribeye steaks to have today. We decided to grill them up and have a very early dinner along with baked beans and baked potato. The steak was good but a little on the tough side. Cheri was busy in the sewing room working on the picture quilt bag. She finished it late this afternoon. I spent my afternoon on the drone studying and then TV. After Cheri got done we settled in to watch some movies we had recorded. No supper this evening because of the big dinner we had. We went out this evening to watch the space station go over, something I like to see when we get a chance. We also got rain late this afternoon and ended up with an inch.

No walk this morning. Last night we got a call from Jan Hughes wanting us to take her to the airport early this morning as she is flying to be with her daughter that was here a week ago. She is in the emergency room with lose of feeling and falling. She was scheduled to have back and neck surgery on Aug 4 but now will have it done this Wednesday. I didn’t think we would be able to make it to church but church was just ready to start when we walked in. Pastor Randy’s message was a continuation on “Who is God”. In Sunday school we studied Psalm 136. Charlie taught us lot of things to better understand it. When we got home Cheri headed to the sewing room to work on the picture quilt bag. I did a few things to get ready for my trip Wednesday and then settled in to watch the NASCAR race and after 12 laps they were in a rain delay. So Cheri took a break and we watched a movie. After the movie Cheri went back to her sewing room. The race didn’t get over until 9:00 pm because of the rain delay and a lot of wrecks, only half of the cars were still running at the end. It was also a rainy day off and on all day and received ½ inch.

The new thermostat came late yesterday afternoon and so I worked on getting it installed this morning. So we are back in business and hooked to the internet again. I took Cheri up to church to meet the rest of the Sunday school ladies for a day out for lunch and shopping. On the way home I made a stop at the post office to mail the old thermostat back. I also stopped at Rural King to just take my time and really good around. It is a very nice store and a good place to buy our wild bird seed. When I got home I did some more drone studying and then watched some TV. When Cheri got home we settled in to watch a movie before having supper. After supper we called Darren to see how things were going and what more needed to be done before we leave for Mexico. Sounds like the only thing I will have to do when I get there is to help pack the 4 runner for the trip. We watched a couple more movies and called it a night.

No walk this morning as I had to leave by 6:10 am for breakfast with my Accountability Group and Bible study. When I got home Cheri already had a load of laundry done. I helped Cheri get the picture quilt squared up so she could finish it today by putting on the binding. She is very happy to have it done. She is now working on a bag to carry it in. The new thermostat came today so I now have that installed and working the way it should. The rest of my day was spent doing the drone study. I think I am starting to get my mind wrapped around what I am studying. I am about 1/3 of the way through the study book, still a lot more to learn. This evening we watch a couple of movies we had recorded, nothing special but a way to pass the time.

It was really foggy this morning for my walk, something we haven’t had in a while. Cheri had a load of laundry done before 8:00 am this morning and two more to do. After breakfast, coffee, and Bible study Cheri went to the sewing room where she spent most of the day. She had a good day working on the picture quilt. All she has left to do is square it up and put on the binding, looks really nice. Her goal is to have it done this week. I decided I wasn’t going to do anything today as I don’t want to start anything before going to Mexico. I did pay some bills and spent some time on the internet searching information on the Nest thermostat as I don’t remember all the steps in setting up the new one when it gets here. The rest of the day was spent studying for the drone licenses, still having trouble understanding and remembering what I have read. Maybe this God’s way of telling me I shouldn’t be doing this. Cheri also made baked beans to take to church this evening as it was the Prime Timers monthly potluck. It is the first time we have gone and had a good time. There were just over fifty people there which was a nice turnout. We were home by 7:30 pm ready for an evening of TV.

It was a busy day for Cheri and me not so much. After Cheri got her Wednesday house work done she spent the rest of the day in the sewing room. I contacted Nest by using the chat process, something I have never done before. It went well and they think a chip in the thermostat that controls the internet connection failed. So they are going to send me a replacement. The person I worked with was really nice. I did some other internet work and then spent the rest of the day studying the drone material. I am about ready to give up on it as I just can’t get my mind wrapped around what I need to know for the test. Late this afternoon we met Ron and Sandy and went to Willie’s Seafood restaurant in Valrico. I was there once on Men’s Night Out from church and thought it was very good. But this evening I was really disappointed and probably won’t go back again. On the way home we stopped by Larry and Denise’s to check out their house and everything was in good shape. It was 7:00 pm when we got home and settled in for an evening of TV.

After Cheri got her Tuesday house work done she headed to the sewing room to work on the picture quilt. I headed out to get an appointment to have the car repaired from when we got hit in the parking lot at the Medical Center. I have an appointment for Aug 14. Then I went to Enterprise to get a rental car lined up for when our car is being repaired. Then a stop at Grandma’s to deliver some medicine for her. On the way home I stopped at the park office to drop off my plan on putting up the fence around part of the carport. It was lunch time when I got home. After lunch I worked on the thermostat trying all different thing with no luck so tomorrow I am going to call customer service to see if I can get some help. Cheri came out and said that she ran out of thread so we made a trip to Lakeland for more thread. We drove through a real down pore of rain on the way home but had stopped by the time we got home. After we got home I headed to the recliner and Cheri was busy making lasagna for supper. We watched a movie before having supper. The lasagna was really good and have enough for a couple more meals which is ok with me.

My morning walk seemed long today, the old bones put up a fight. Cheri had an appointment this morning and got a call about an hour before that it was canceled and had to reschedule it. So she was able to go with us to take Jan’s daughter Sherry to the St Pete airport. We were on the road by 9:00 am as her flight leaves at 12:14 pm. When we got back we went to Sun Rise restaurant for lunch which Jan bought for us. This afternoon we went over to the new Rural King store which opened this morning. We had never heard of Rural King before so was excited about seeing it. It is very much like Fleet Farm that we had back in Wisconsin or like a Tractor Supply on steroids. We didn’t buy anything just wanted to see what they had and compare some prices. When we got home Cheri worked on the picture quilt and I worked on our Nest thermostat which lost the internet connection and doing weird things. I had trouble getting it to the cooling cycle. I finally got it to start cooling as it was 86 degree in the house. So I didn’t want to do anything with it until I got the house cooled down. So that will be a project for tomorrow.

Grandma went to church with us this morning and I told her there wouldn’t be any notes because Pastor Randy wouldn’t be delivering the message. Well I must have got some wrong information as Pastor Randy was delivering the message. When he saw Grandma come in he went back to his office and printed out the messages for her. After Sunday school we had a surprise birthday party for Charlie our Sunday school teacher. It was a good time for all of us and even got to meet some new people. It was around 1:30 pm when we got home. Cheri and I both were done for the day. Cheri did nap while I watched the NASCAR race. We had leftover pizza from Saturday night for supper. We did get a little shower around 10:00 pm.

I didn’t do much today as I just didn’t seem to have the energy or desire to get anything done. We did go to Wal-Mart this morning to get Grandma’s groceries and a quick stop at Lowe’s for some wood putty. When we got home Cheri went right to work on the picture quilt. She did have quite the time as things didn’t go the way she wanted them to. I worked on puttying the door frame where the hinges and the strike plate were. Then I spent a lot of time studying for the drone test. I also worked on the plans for the fence under the carport as I have to have the project approved by the park. Late this afternoon we got a call from Ron and Sandy wanting to meet at Pizza Hut for supper at 5:30 pm. We had a good visit and then back home to finish the evening watching TV.

No walk this morning as it is my accountability group breakfast and Bible study which means I had to leave the house by 6:10 am. Cheri got the laundry started early and then left at 8:45 am for her hair cut. Then at 10:30 am we met Mike & Pam with their daughter Jenny and their grandchildren Mason and Elisha along with Ron and Sandy at the Hole in One Donut shop for Brunch. Being I already had breakfast I settled for a donut and coffee. After a nice visit we all went our separate ways. Cheri and I went shopping so Cheri could get a new curling iron as hers quit working. When we got home Cheri went to work on the picture quilt and I worked on making handles for the sliding barn door.  I also got the shop cleaned up again and new batteries in the sprinkler controller then I was done for the day. Cheri also quit early as things weren’t going well with the quilting. We watched a couple of movies before supper which was more leftovers. The rest of the evening was spent watching more TV. We got another ½ inch of rain late this afternoon.

Cheri was busy all day, this morning doing laundry and then working on the picture quilt. I on the other hand was pretty lazy. I worked on the sliding barn door and finished the assembly and now I need to make handles for it and get the sanding done so Cheri can get it painted. I was done by early afternoon. I took a shower and had a long nap in my recliner. It was after 4:00 pm before Cheri got done and joined me. We had a big lunch of leftovers from last night so wasn’t hungry for supper so later in the evening we had a piece of pie. No rain today not even any thunder. We spent the evening watching TV. We have finally got caught up on all the shows we watch and now trying to find something to watch. Not sure how we can have over 100 different channels and nothing worth watching. OK I am done complaining for today.

I am still doing my morning walks. I was doing my blog before walking but now I do my walk first, think I like doing that better. Today I took Grandma for her eye appointment which I didn’t get home until noon. Cheri was busy in the kitchen making a couple of pies, potato salad, and broccoli salad. We had invited Bob and Ida Mae Conover for supper. They are in our Sunday school class and thought it would be nice to get to know them better. This afternoon Cheri spent some extra time getting ready for our company. I made a trip to Lowe’s to return some lumber that I didn’t need and picked up a couple pieces to finish the sliding door. I also did some computer work and didn’t have time to work on the door today. Bob and Ida Mae arrived at 4:30 pm. Cheri gave them a tour of the house and then we visited a while before it was time for me to fire up the grill for some hamburgers. After supper we did more visiting and was nice to learn more about people that you have church and Sunday school with. So it was a good evening with Christian friends.

Cheri was busy today cleaning floors, making a crockpot of soup (new recipe), and working on her quilt project. I started working on the sliding barn door. While I was doing the layup I changed my mind on how I was going to do it and needed to make another trip to Lowe’s for a couple of wider boards. We both took a break at noon for a lunch and then back to work for both of us. Cheri got the quilt put together but still has to do the batting and back before she can do the quilting. It looks really nice. I got the main part of the sliding door together and took in the house to see if it was going to fit. I still have a lot left to do on the back side of the door plus sanding and installing hardware. Cheri has to decide what she is going to finish it with. It was 4:30 pm when I finally got done and was ready for a nice hot shower. Cheri was already in her recliner doing her Bible study. We had the soup that Cheri made for supper and was really good so she has another recipe to save for a future meal. We had rain again this evening and received another ½ inch. Thank you God for a productive day.

Cheri had a fasting lab at 8:00 am this morning and wanted to go out to Sun Rise restaurant for breakfast afterwards. It has been a while since we were last there. I think it is still the best place around for breakfast. Our next stop was going to be the Sprint Store but found that it didn’t open until 10:00 am. So we headed on over to Wesley Chapel to Sam’s Club. Well we were there before 10:00 am and wasn’t supposed to get in until after 10:00 am. But we walked right in and no one bothered us. I needed salt for the water softener. Plus we found a few more things that we needed. Then it was back to the Sprint Store. We had some additional charges on our bill and couldn’t figure it out. After all was said and done it was ok the extra charges was from my new cell phone. We were home at noon and no lunch today because of the big breakfast. Cheri went to the sewing room and I went to Lowe’s and picked up the lumber for the barn door. I did some computer work and tried to get our cell phones to link together for our pictures (a work in progress). Cheri and I sat down for a bit before we were to leave to pick up Jan’s daughter Sherry at the ST Pete airport. Just before we were to leave Cheri got a text from Jan informing us that she will not arrive until 9:00 pm as they didn’t have a plane for the trip because it need to be repaired and had to wait for one to come in. It was probably a good thing because we got a really bad thunder storm which was right at the time we would have had to go. Long story short her plane wouldn’t be in until 9:00 pm. So we left for the airport at 7:00 pm because it was still raining some. Her plane didn’t arrive until 9:30 pm and was near 11:00 pm when we got back to Zephyrhills. I check the rain gauge and received just over 1 ¼ of rain.

I managed to get my walk in this morning as I was up before 5:00 am. Grandma went to church with us today. It was another great day to be with our church and Sunday school friends. We always come home filled with the Spirit that God provides for us. This afternoon Cheri worked on her quit project. I finished watching the NASCR race that I couldn’t stay awake through last night. After the race Cheri came out and said that she was done for the day. We settled in and watched some home renovation shows we had recorded. It is fun to see how they go about doing different things and also gives us some ideas on things that we would like to do. We had our usual Sunday evening meal of pizza. There was a lot of thunder rumbling around but only got a sprinkle.

It was another busy day for Cheri and me. Cheri spent the most of the day working on her quilt project. She had a good day and got a lot done. She even painted the ledger board for the sliding door. My project for the day was to get the ledger board installed and the sliding door rail installed. I had a couple small problems but for the most part things went well. Cheri and I both spent time in Bible study and the Sunday school lesson. Late this afternoon we made a trip to Wal-Mart for groceries and a few other things. We had several storms bypass us today but did get a little rain, just enough to dampen the street. I had planned on watching the NASCAR race this evening but couldn’t stay awake for the whole race so tomorrow I will watch the rest of it. Thank you God for taking care of us today.

No walk this morning as I had to be in Dade City at 6:30 am for my accountability group study and breakfast. I had to get around a little earlier as I decided to take the motorcycle so I could get a little ride in before it got too hot. On the way home I took a longer route so I could get some riding time in. it was around 9:00 am when I got home and only rode 30 miles but it did feel good. Cheri had just finished breakfast and was busy doing laundry and dusting. Then it was back in the sewing room. She had a good day and got a lot done on her quilt project. I went up to Jan’s to clean out her rain gutters as it has been a couple of months since I last done it. It wasn’t really the job I wanted to be doing in 85 plus degrees. I was back home by noon and needed a shower to get cleaned up and cooled off. This afternoon I worked on cutting and getting the ledger board ready for the sliding barn door. It is now ready for paint, hope I can get Cheri to paint it. It was 4:00 pm and Cheri and I were both ready to be done for the day. We watched a couple more Christmas movies that we had recorded back on Christmas. Maybe we are just getting a head start on this year’s Christmas.

I see an ad on Face Book from Home Depot this morning that said “shop for the products that you are looking for at great prices” and below it was a picture of a snow blower. Do they know something that I don’t know? Cheri was a busy lady today with laundry, house work, and starting a pork loin in the crockpot which is a new recipe. Then she disappeared in her sewing room for the rest of the day. I checked on her a few time and I know she was having some problems but knowing her she worked through them. I worked outside cleaning up the shop until noon. After lunch I did some Bible study to be ready for my accountability group tomorrow. Then it was back outside for more shop cleaning, think in another half day I could have it done and ready to work on the sliding barn door.  By 3:30 pm I was done for the day and ready for a nice hot shower. The pork loin Cheri fixed was really good along with some corn on the cob. This evening we watched a couple of Christmas movies we had recorded. We also called some Wisconsin friends that we haven’t talked to for several months, time to get caught up again. I posted a couple of pictures of the cactus that I walk by on my morning walks which are now in full bloom.

I am having some computer problems this morning and that is the reason I am late getting the blog done. I was out early for my walk and was back by 6:20 am. Cheri was already up and doing her bike exercise. After breakfast Cheri went to work sweeping and mopping all the floors and then spent the rest of the day in her sewing room. I took the car through the car wash and then over to Buddy Foster Collision Center to meet the damage adjuster from GEICO to see about getting the damage fixed on the car from where the hit it in the Medical Center parking lot. I guess the guy that hit the car is claiming to GEOCO that he didn’t do it. Well I showed them the police report that he had done it and was ticketed for it. The adjuster took a copy of the report and said that they would let me know when I can get it repaired. This afternoon I worked on the design for the sliding barn door I plan on building for the master bathroom. Later this afternoon Cheri and I went over to Lowe’s to check out the different types of lumber that I can use for the door. We did buy one board for the backing of the track that the door will hang from. I want to get that part of the project done so I will know the exact length the new door will be. We have finally got caught up on all the shows we had recorded. Now it’s time to look for something new to watch.

Happy fire cracker day to everyone. How about taking a quiet moment to thank God for the great nation we live in. Yes we do have our problems but it is still better than any other nation. Also thank all the people that has fought to keep our nation free. Ok I will get off my orange crate now. I started walking again on Monday and have walked every day so I am getting back into the swing of things. Cheri spent most of her day in the sewing room. I spent more time figuring out the sliding door and after much thought I have decided I will build my own door. I check on Cheri to see how she was doing and she said that she needed some thread so we headed to Lakeland. I dropped her off at Joan Fabrics and I went on to Lowe’s. I found the sliding door hardware and bought the set so now I am committed to the door project. I also did some studying on drone material. We were invited along with Ron and Sandy over to Mike and Pam’s at 3:30pm for a wonderful meal of barbeque ribs with all the fixings. We had a good visit. Ron and Sandy left early has Sandy was really tired form the morning activities with their family. We played three games of aggravation and a game of SOB which was a lot of fun. Cheri and Pam won two of the games of aggravation and Mike won the game of SOB. Thank you God for great friends.

We had a 10:00 am appointment at Grandma’s with the people that does her cleaning and laundry. We had to sign up for another year, a lot of paper work to sign. Then we went over to Beall’s. Cheri has showed me the sale paper and thought that I should get some new sneakers which were on sale. So I now have some new sneakers. Probably was a good idea as the ones I wear for outside for work are coming apart. Cheri also found a nice top for her. Then we made a stop at the grocery store to get a few groceries that Cheri needed to make salad. After lunch Cheri was busy doing ironing and then working on her quilt project. I made a trip to Lowe’s to check out the sliding door hardware but they were out of it. I did look at some slab doors and getting one of them would be cheaper than if I made one. When I got home I got on the internet checking out different travel insurance sites. I got signed up for the trip to Mexico and was $84.00 for the ten days with a $250.00 deductible. After the age of 69 all the policies go up in price. We had leftovers for supper along with some fresh sweetcorn on the cob. Later in the evening we made peanut butter with chocolate shakes while watching TV. We also got some more rain this evening and received just over ¼ inch.

It was good to get back to church and Sunday school again as we missed the last two Sundays. Grandma went with us today. Pastor Randy had a good message on “Who is God? He Never Changes”. Charlie had a great Sunday school lesson titled “Crucified”. It was so good to see and visit with our church and Sunday school friends. This afternoon Cheri and I cut out the rest of the pictures we had printed yesterday. The rest of the quilt making is now in Cheri’s hands. The rest of the afternoon and evening was spent napping, reading, and watching TV. Oh, I did check out some plans on building and installing a sliding barn door. There are many different styles of doors and hanging materials. Prices start around $300 and go up to well over $1000. Now I have to figure out how I can do it for around $100 because I am cheap. We also got some rain this evening and checked the rain gauge and received just under 1/2 inch.

Well folks just for your information the year is half over and the days are starting to get shorter. For us this year seems to be flying by really fast. Cheri and I have decided we want to replace our queen bed with a king bed. Now the story begins. We plan on keeping all the other bedroom furniture. In order for the new bed to be centered on the wall with the night stands the door to the bathroom will not be able to open or close. I told Cheri we could just move the bed over a bit but she said no that it has to be centered on the wall. OK stay with me. That means something has to be done with the bathroom door. Cheri said that I could make a sliding barn door to replace the swinging door. Then the queen bed will go into the spare bedroom to replace the one that is in there now. Which also means the rest of the furniture in there will not go with it. So then we will have to get new furniture for the spare bedroom. And I thought all we had to do was buy a new bed for our bedroom. So it looks like my next project will be to come up with a plan for a sliding door for the bathroom. Cheri and I spent the whole day printing pictures on fabric so she can make a picture quilt. We had a hard time getting the printer to cooperate with the special printing fabric. We only had 25 pieces of printable fabric and needed 21 pictures. We did get the 21 pictures printed and did have 4 mistakes so all the printing fabric was used. At $3.00 per sheet you don’t want to make any mistakes. Next we had to cut the pictures done to the right size for the quilt. By 3:00 pm both of our backs where hurting and decided to quit for the day. We both had a nap in our recliners. This evening I tried to watch the NASCAR race but couldn’t stay awake for the whole race. So I had it recorded and will watch the rest of it tomorrow.

I was awake at 3:30 am and not able to go back to sleep so at 4:00 am I got up. I spent the better part of an hour just sitting in my recline thinking about all the things that have happened the last two months. I left the house a little past 6:00 am to meet with my accountability group of breakfast and some Bible study in the book of James. When I got home Cheri was just finishing her breakfast and time for me to get ready for my 10:40 am appointment in Tampa. After getting cleaned up I check the clock and told Cheri it was time for me to leave. Well I need a lesson in on how to tell time. Because after I checked in for my appointment and sitting in the waiting room and check the time and realized I was an hour early. When I got home Cheri had been busy doing laundry and her Friday house work. We needed to get groceries for Grandma and decided to do it early this afternoon while we still had some energy. After we were done with that project we crashed into our recliners for a nap before supper. We were invited over to Mike and Kathy’s for cards this evening. It has been a long time since we last played cards with them. It was a good time of fellowship and my winning the game of Phase Ten made it even better. We have had rain the last two evening for a total of just under two inches. Darren sent of a video of Wyatt walking around the house so I expect that within a week he will be running.
