No walk. Another bad morning.
I was hungry when I got up and after eating I went downhill. My fever spiked
and took a while for it to come down. I spent the day in the recliner and tried
to read and watch TV but just didn’t have any interest, watch a little and nap
a little. Cheri fixed me some soup for lunch and shortly afterwards the fever
spiked again. The same thing happened after dinner. They say to starve a fever
and if I starve it anymore it won’t matter. Cheri has been cooped up taking
care of me so today I told her to go shopping, so it was a better day for her. No
more news here. I have to come to an understanding that all things happen in
Gods time.

No walk this morning,
feeling about the same as yesterday. Still plan on going to work. Cheri made a
deal with me this morning. She told me if I wasn’t running a fever I could go
to work but if I had a fever I would go to the doctor. Well I lost as I had a
fever of 100.1. Me not liking doctors wasn’t happy but went to Urgent Care
which was the first time for us. We got there at 8:25 am and was done and out
of there at 9:25 am. I was really happy how fast things went. It looks like I
have a bladder infection, got a scrip for antibiotics. When we got there my
temp had gone up to 100.3. After giving in to all of the above I was ready to
go home and crash. Before I went to Urgent Care I called Bob and told him I
couldn’t make it today. I feel guilty as he is behind on this project and
really needed my help. I crashed in the recliner for the rest of the day
napping and watching TV. Cheri went to Wal-Mart to pick up my medicine. She was
very good about taking care of me, making sure I was dinking a lot of water.
The doctor also said that he thought I was dehydrated. By midafternoon I was
getting pretty board sitting around doing nothing. Praying for a better day
tomorrow.

No walk again this
morning, I feel better than yesterday but that’s not saying much. I wouldn’t have
gone to work today but I left a big mess that I needed to clean up. But things
went well for Bob and I and I started to feel better. We got the rest of the demolition
done and the pocket door is ready to frame in. I only worked to 1:00 pm as I
told Bob I was very tired and couldn’t do any more today. As soon as I got home
I headed to the shower which helped make me feel better. Then I went to get my
hair cut which is something that should have been done a couple of week ago.
Cheri did a new recipe in the crock pot of green beans, potatoes, ham, onions,
and spices to have for dinner. Cheri spent the rest of her day in the sewing
room and is closing in on another project. After dinner we sat down and watched
some TV or I should say Cheri did. I finely went to bed at 7:30 pm and watch
some TV in the bedroom.

No walk again this
morning, still having a lot of joint and muscle pain. I eat an English muffin early
this morning. Wrote the Blog and headed to the recliner. I was in too much pain
to go to church. Grandma didn’t go either because it was rain off and on most
of the day. So Cheri headed out by herself. When she got home at 12:30 pm I was
still in the recliner napping and watching TV. Oh I did go and shower and shave
which did make me feel a little better. We both spent the rest of the day
resting and watching TV. Looking forward to a better day tomorrow.

No walk this morning as
every bone and muscle in my body is hurting. I did go to work today as I had to
get some wiring done before we could go any farther with door project. It was
the last thing I wanted to do today. I only worked two hours and did get the
wiring done. I tried to do some out in the garage but was hot and made me even
sicker so headed for home. I got home at noon and went right to bed. Cheri
thinks I was running a fever and took some aspirin. I slept until 4:00 pm.
Cheri fixed us taco salads for dinner. After dinner I tried to watch some TV
with Cheri but was really tired and went back to bed at 6:30 pm. Pray that I am
feeling better tomorrow. Cheri took really good care of me.

No walk this morning
because I had to be out the door by 6:10 am and on my way to Dade City for my accountability
group breakfast and Bible study. I left a little early from my group as Cheri
and I had an appointment in Brooksville at 9:30 am. The appointment went well
and were on our way back to Zephyrhills by 10:30 am. Our next stop was Wal-Mart
to pick up medicine and groceries for Grandma. While Cheri was getting her groceries
I got her medicine and then walked to the back of the store to see if they had
the receiver hitch I needed for the car. Then decide not to buy as I was
thinking I might have one at home. On my way to the grocery department I pass
by the TV’s and had 55 inch on sale for $398. We have been having trouble with
our bedroom TV with the picture going in and out. We think in the long run it
would be better to buy the new one then to have the one we have repaired. When
we got back home I check on the receiver hitch and have one but was the wrong
size. Cheri finished up her laundry and then to the sewing room. I headed to
Home Depot to see about reserving scaffolding for the fan job but was took it
was a first come first serve. Next I stopped at a U-Haul and reserved a trailer
for Sept 2 to haul the scaffolding for the fan job. Went back to Wal-Mart and
measured the TV to see if it would fit in the car, no luck with that but did
buy the receiver hitch. When I got home I called Mike to see he was available
to haul the TV for us and said that he would be right over. So now we have a
new TV that needs to be installed. I grilled up some hamburgers for dinner to
go along with the potato salad Cheri made. After dinner I headed to shower. My
whole body is really hurting and not sure why but thinking maybe it is from
dehydration as I didn’t drink hardly any water today.

I did get my walk in this
morning but then was a little so getting around as I was home for the day.
Cheri was up early and had the Thursday laundry going. Cheri was just finishing
breakfast and I was ready to go out when the doorbell rang. Our neighbor Jean
came with a big flash light and could figure out how to put the battery in. She
lives by herself and likes to visit when she comes. Late yesterday the trailer
hitch I order came so my job for today was to get it installed. After removing
the parts that was in the directions plus some additional that wasn’t in the
directions. The hitch fit perfectly but then the real problem started when trying
to get the parts that were removed reinstalled. The main problem was four of
the connections were tight to the hitch and no way to put the fastener back in.
So with a little reengineering I finally found something that will work but
need to go and get the parts. Working outside in the heat just about got the
best of me. It was 3:00 pm when I got done and ready for the hot shower and
recliner. Cheri spent the rest of her day in the sewing room. I didn’t take
time for lunch so Cheri fixed us an early dinner. Our evening was TV and some
napping for me.

I left the house at 8:45
am as Bob had to stop at Home depot to pick up materials for the job we will be
working on so not starting until 9:30 am. I have two electrical projects to do.
Put in an electrical outlet in the garage for the new freezer which means
opening up a wall in order to run the wiring. The other is moving an outlet
that is in the way for the new pocket door we are installing which means
fishing the wall and running new wire. Today was demo day and did as much as we
could. We really needed a few more tools to complete the demo work. Bob doesn’t
work on Thursday and Friday so we will be back at it on Monday. I got home a
little before 2:00 pm and found Cheri busy in the sewing room. She also had
some cubed round steak with the fixings going in the crockpot for dinner. I
worked on getting the electric pole saw I bought last week put together. Then went
out and got the tree in the back yard trimmed and all the branches out by the
street. The people that does the yard work stopped by late this afternoon and
picked up all the branches. I was surprised and happy that they did that. After
a hot shower I headed to the recliner where Cheri joined me as she was having
some problems with her project and needed a break. After watching a movie Cheri
got dinner ready, we had cube steak over steamed cabbage which was excellent. It
was from a recipe that Cheri made many years ago and had written on the recipe
very good. And we even have enough for another meal.

Feeling much better this
morning but still have a ways to go. The good thing is I got to work inside
today. I left the house at 8:15 am. So today I was a finish carpenter putting
on 25 cabinet door pulls and 15 drawer pulls. I made a templet to make it
easier but it still took me five hours to compete. Cheri worked on her Tuesday
house work and then worked in her sewing room. I got home just before 3:00 pm,
nice to be home early. So after getting home I am now an appliance repairman.
The dishwasher control board that I sent in for repair came back so I got that
installed. We did a practice run and everything is working again which means we
saved a bunch of money by not having to buy a new one. We had an early dinner
as I didn’t stop for any lunch. Cheri had made all the fixings to we could have
a taco salad which was excellent. After dinner I headed for the shower which
help make me feel better. The evening was spent watching some TV shows we had
recorded. It was another wonderful day God made for us.

My morning walk was really
hard as I was hurting all over and not feeling very good. I really didn’t feel
like working today but had an electrical job to work on. I repaired a ceiling fan
and light then changed out bunch electrical receptacles and switches. I am in
the process of changing everyone in the house as the people that owned it
before were heavy smokers. Every receptacle and switch was full of smoke residue.
I worked until 3:30 pm and wasn’t able to do anymore. I got home at 4:00 pm and
had Cheri fixed dinner as I wanted to take a shower and lay down, still not
feeling good. Cheri worked all day in her sewing room. I woke up during the
night and the bed was wet from me sweating. I hope I feel better tomorrow as I
have another job putting pulls on kitchen cabinets. I didn't even go out to see the eclipse but did see it on TV.

Cheri was up early this
morning to finish preparing the Sunday school lunch to take with on our way to
church. She made egg salad croissants, chicken salad croissants, grape salad,
and a cheese plate. Grandma went to church with us. Pastor Randy’s message was
a continuation of “Who is God”. It was another good message form Psalm 136. In
Sunday school we studied Psalm 141. It was another great time to be in Church
and Sunday school learning about God and what he does for us. It was around
1:00 pm when we got home. I settled in and watched the rest of the NASCAR race
that I had recorded and then the Packer’s preseason football game. Cheri
watched some with me but also spent time on her phone and took a nap. Our
dinner was leftovers from the Sunday school lunch.

I had told Cheri I was
going to sleep in in the morning. Well I did sort of as I got up at 5:06 am. Cheri
and I headed out this morning to get Grandma’s groceries and then back home with
a couple of things we got. Then we headed to Lakeland as Cheri needed to go to
Jo-Ann’s and I wanted to stop at Harbor Freight to pick up an electric pole saw
as I need to do some tree trimming in the back yard. After my trip to Harbor
Freight I went back and picked up Cheri and then went to Sam’s Club. Cheri
wanted to get some croissants to have for Sunday school lunch with egg salad
and chicken salad. I was able to pick up some fresh baked baby back ribs which
we had for a late lunch when we got home. After the lunch I made a trip to Home
Depot to see if they had scaffolding for rent as I am going to need it to
install a ceiling in the front entry to the house where I have been doing the
electrical work. It is going to be 14 feet up and that is the reason for the
scaffolding which Home Depot does have for rent. On the way home I stopped to
check on Larry and Denise’s house and everything looked good. I was exhausted
when I got home and decided to take an hour and a half nap. Cheri worked on
getting her egg salad made for tomorrow. The evening was spent watching TV and
later I tried to watch the NACAR race but couldn’t stay awake so will watch the
rest of it tomorrow.

I was out the door at 6:10
am headed to Dade City for my Friday Accountability Group Bible study and
breakfast. I was back home a little after 8:00 am. I forgot take my phone with
me and Cheri said that I had a call from the place I had been working this
week. Don was wondering about when I was going to install the ceiling fans. So
I made plans on being at his place at 11:30 am. I went right to work on getting
the car loaded with everything I would need to do the installation. Cheri had a
lab appointment this morning and had to wait for to return before I could leave.
Cheri was busy doing her Friday laundry and working in her sewing room. I didn’t
get home until 5:15 pm did get the two ceiling fans installed. Cheri had dinner
waiting for me because we were having Mike and Kathy coming over to play cards
at 6:00 pm. So I had to hurry up and eat and have my shower before they
arrived. We played four games of aggravation which Mike and I won and then
played a game of Phase Ten which Cheri won by points over me. It was another
good day for Cheri and me that God made.

Cheri and I went out for
breakfast at the Sunrise Eatery. We always have the same thing for breakfast
when we go there. We order a meat lovers omelet and split it, we both come away
full. Then it was a trip to Wal-Mart for groceries and back home. I was feeling
a little under the weather so took it easy today. I did do some searching on
the internet and found some tickets to Puerto Vallarta for a reasonable price
and booked them for October. Cheri is excited that she is going to see Wyatt. I
returned the rental car and pick up our car from the body shop and was very
pleased with the work that was done to repair the damage. Cheri was busy doing
laundry and cooking as we had a couple (Art and Ruby) over from church and
Sunday school for dinner. It was a chance for us to get to know them better. We
had a good visit sitting around the dining room table after dinner. After they
left we had a video call with Darren, Brooke, and Wyatt talking about our trip
in October to see them. We watch a little TV and called it a night.

I left for work at 8:00 am
as I had to stop at Lowe’s to pick up some electrical supplies as there has
been a change before putting up the peg board. I need to add a switch for a
light. I started the day’s work at a different house where I had to install
some wire shelving in the master bedroom closet and hang a large mirror in the dining
room. Then it was back to the cabinet house where I did the electrical, changed
some cabinet doors, and installed the peg board. I was on my own today as Bob
had some driveways to power wash. On the way home I stopped to check on the car
and found out it won’t be done until tomorrow as I needed to know because my
rent a car needed to be turned in today. The body shop guy said that he had
already contacted Enterprise and will have the rent a car for another day. It
was 4:00 pm when I got home and ready for the nice hot shower. Cheri fixed us Lasngua
for dinner. It was very good and once again I didn’t take time for lunch. Cheri
was busy doing her Wednesday house work and then has started another new sewing
project. This evening we went out and watched the space station go over. We
have seen it many times but never get tired of spotting it and watching it go
over. Thank you God for another good day you blessed us with.

It was another busy day
for me. I was out the door at 8:30 am to work on the cabinet project that I
have been working on this week. Bob and I thought we would get done today but
that wasn’t case. Tomorrow I will be working on putting some shelfing in a
closet at another house and then back to finish the cabinet job. Bob is going
to be busy doing some power washing. It was after 4:00 pm when I got home.
Jumped in the shower to get cleaned up and then left the house at 5:15 pm and
headed to Dade City for our Men’s Night Out. We made trip to Willie’s Seafood
for all you can eat fish. It was a good night and didn’t get home until 10:00
pm. Jan picked Cheri up at 6:00 pm and went to the Ladies Night Out. She got
home at 9:30 pm. So we didn’t talk much today as we went to bed when I got home
so I am not sure what she did today but I am sure that she did some work in the
sewing room.

I was up a 5:00 am and got
my walk in. I had an 8:30 am appointment to drop the car off at the body shop
to get the damage repaired from the accident back in June. I had everything set
up with Enterprise Rent-A-Car to pick me up at the body shop at 8:30 am. Well
they didn’t show and had to call them and the body shop also called them. Finally
came at 9:00 am. I already had a reservation for a car that I made back in July
but still had to wait for a car to be returned. Long story short it put me
behind on my cabinet work with Bob Conover by an hour. So it was 10:30 am by
the time I was ready to start work. Bob and I spent the day installing and
fastening cabinets together. I had thought we would get done today but it is
going to take one more day to finish. After Bob and I got done for the day I
did a couple repairs for the home owner. It was 4:00 pm when I got home and was
ready for a good hot shower. While I was in the shower Cheri fixed dinner.
Cheri spent the day cleaning and organizing in the house, I am sure she spent
some time in the sewing room. After dinner I did have a nap and then was ready
to finish out the evening watching TV.

Nothing new for today as
our Sundays are mostly the same when we are home. Grandma went to church with
us. Today we celebrated the Lords Supper which is time for us to really think
about what Jesus has done for us and it is something that he has done for all
of and all we have to do ask him to come into our lives. Church and Sunday
school was good. We were home by 1:00 pm. Time to rest and relax the rest of
the day. We watched TV, read, and did some napping. I did watch the NASCAR race
which took most of the afternoon and Cheri watched with me while she did some reading.
We had our usual Sunday pizza for dinner. Thank you God for a restful day.

I didn’t get up until
around 6:20 am. I was tired and had to push myself to walk this morning. We
didn’t have any plans for today except to rest. After our morning Bible study
Cheri did go into her sewing room and has started a new project. I settled in
to watch the Green Bay Packers preseason game that I had recorded. It was just
after noon when the game got over and was time for lunch. Early afternoon our
neighbor Jean came over and wanted me to drive her car to see what was wrong
with it. So today I am an auto mechanic. I took it around the block and told
her that she had a bad tire. She is 83 years young and not sure where to go so
I took her over to Wal-Mart and picked out the right size tires she needed.
Then went back and got her car and took it over for two new tires. I drove it
over for her and Cheri and Jean follow in our car. I knew she didn’t feel comfortable
driving it over. We left it there and then at 4:00 pm I took her back over to pick
it up. Nikki called and Cheri had a nice long visit which was interrupted a
couple of time. Not hungry this evening so just had a snack while watching TV.
We were planning on going out to watch the meteor shower but the rain took care
of that.

Up at 5:00 am and off to
my accountability group breakfast and Bible study at 6:10 am in Dade City. I
was home by 8:30 am and finished putting tool in the car as today I am an electrician.
I have a job of moving and adding some electrical outlets at the place where I
worked yesterday. They needed to be moved as they were going to be behind the cabinets
we are installing. Because of a change I had to make a trip to Lowe’s for some additional
parts. So long story short I didn’t get home until just before 5:00 pm and very
tired from working in the hot garage all day. I jumped in the shower and got
cleaned up as we had a 5:30 pm dinner appointment at Mike and Pam’s. Ron and
Sandy was also there. They wanted an update and pictures from my trip to Mexico.
We had a really good dinner, Thanks Pam for all the work you went through to
fix the dinner. Seems strange but I really don’t know what all Cheri did today.
I do know that she did some cleaning and laundry. I am sure she spent time in
her sewing room.

I had to get around this
morning as I had to be across town to Bob Conover’s at 8:30 am. I am helping
Bob install some cabinets in the garage for a client he has over in Tampa Bay
Palms which is about 20 miles away. Also had to stop and pick up lumber on the
way. Bob only works 4 hours a day. And today was really hot working in the
garage and 4 hours was enough. I was hot, tired, and sweaty when I got home and
ready for a nice hot shower. Cheri was busy cleaning and organizing the house.
I didn’t have any lunch so after I showered we had an early dinner of leftovers
from the Beef roast yesterday. Then I needed to go to Lowe’s to get some
electrical materials as I am going back tomorrow to the place where I worked
today to do some electrical work. On the way I dropped Cheri off at Wal-Mart as
she had a few things she needed to pick up. The rest of the evening was
watching TV and I had to have some popcorn to get me through the evening. Thank
you God for a very productive day.

I got my morning walk in
and felt good to get back to walking again. First thing this morning Cheri put
a beef roast in the crockpot along with potatoes, carrots, and onions to have
for dinner this evening. Cheri took Grandma for her doctor’s appointment this
morning and she got a good report. Then Cheri went to Wal-Mart to pick up a few
things. I was the appliance repair man today. Cheri told me that the dishwasher
quit working. She thinks that it was from a thunder storm that came through.
Lights were flashing on it and wouldn’t run. I reset the power which didn’t fix
the problem. It appears to be the control board that has the problem. The dish
washer is nine years old and probably should replace it. I did some checking on
line and they no longer made the control board for it. But I did find a place
that will repair my control board for $144.00 and give me a year’s warranty on
it which is much cheaper than buying a new dishwasher. So I got the old control
board packed up and ready to drop in the mail tomorrow. I was going to mail it
out today but was waiting for a phone call that was supposed to come at 2:00 pm
and didn’t get the call until after 9:00 pm. The pot roast was really good and
was nice to get back to some good home cooking.

I was up early as I couldn’t
sleep knowing I would be heading home today. It was tough saying goodbye to
Darren, Brooke, and Wyatt. At 9:45 am Darren drove me down where I could catch
a cab for the trip to the airport. I had the cab stop on the way to pick up
Chris and Cheryl as they are the same flight home to Atlanta. When it came time
to board our plane there wasn’t any plane as it was late getting there. But was
only about 15 minutes late. It was a 3 ½ hour flight to Atlanta. In fact we
arrived early which was a good thing for me. When it came time to go through
customs I said my goodbyes to Chris and Cheryl as they were to go through a
different area than me as I had a connecting flight. Customs took a while as
there were a lot of people but move along pretty well. After customs it was
going through security again for my flight to Tampa. I had to go all the way to
the other end of the airport for my flight. When I got there they had already
started boarding. They asked for volunteers to check there bag as the plane was
full. By checking my bag at the gate I didn’t have to carry it on the plane and
didn’t have to pay to have it checked. Plus by doing that they let me board
right away. So within half an hour I was on my way to Tampa. We did get in on
time and Mike, Pam, and Cheri were there to pick me up. It was around 11:00 pm
when we arrive home. I was tired and happy to be home.

It was another late
morning for me, the last one and then it will be back home at my regular time
of getting up and doing my walk. Also looking forward to some coffee, last time
I had a cup was the morning we went deep sea fishing. Darren and Brooke don’t
drink coffee. Around 9:00 am the house keeper came to clean, done a good job.
Darren is working from home and we are trying to be quite for him but is very
hard for Wyatt. At noon Darren to a break and we went to get tacos a couple
blocks away. We have tried to get some a couple other times and they were
closed as it was late when we were there. Fish and shrimp tacos are the only
kind they have. I got two shrimp, two fish for Brooke, and two fish and one
shrimp for Darren. They were really good and I would go again. We went out to
eat at El Pam Aroma Which had a great view of the city and coast. Check out the
pictures. Tonight was the best sunset since I have been here.

It was another late
morning for me as I really didn’t have any reason to get up. Darren fixed me an
omelet for breakfast that was really good. After breakfast Darren and I went to
Costco to get some things they need, was able to get a car seat for Wyatt. We
left the store with two shopping carts full. Brooke told me that Wyatt has
learned something new, when she went to get him out of the crib he didn’t have
any diaper on which at some point he had taken it off. This afternoon we all went
over to the resort where Chris and Cheryl (I had been spelling it with an S and
found out that it was wrong) are staying and sat around the pool and had some
lunch before pool time. I even went in for a little while. Then I walked Wyatt
around the pool while everybody else got some pool time. We got back home about
3:30 pm. I called Cheri and had a nice long visit, will be glad to get home.
She said that I have a couple of jobs waiting for me. Just sandwiches for
dinner as we had a lot at lunch time. We enjoyed another nice sunset.

When you sleep here with
the windows open you never know what you are going hear. At 1:00 am I was woke
up by someone’s alarm clock. Then the person kept hitting the snooze button and
woke me up three more times. Then at 2:30 am I was woke up to a chainsaw. A
tree fell across the telephone line and was blocking the street and apparently
needed to clean it at 2:30 am. I think it is a dead end street with just a few
houses. Brooke left this morning to spend the day with her Mom and Dad. Darren,
Wyatt, Harper, and I went down town and walked on the walkway along the water
where there are a lot of restaurants and shops, also a lot of street vendors.
We were back home by 11:30 am. Time for Wyatt to have lunch and go down for a
nap. A little later this afternoon Darren and I both took a short nap. Late
afternoon I called Cheri to see what she was up to today. Yep she has been
shopping again. After Brooke got home Darren and I went downtown to get tacos
to bring back for dinner but the place he want to go was closed. So we came
back home and ordered pizza from Domino’s. After dinner it was time for a drink
and a game of Skip Bo which Brooke won. We got to see a really nice sunset this
evening but the pictures don’t do it Justice.

I was awake before 6:00 am
but laid in bed until after 7:00 am before I rolled out. Not a lot going on
today. Darren was on the phone must of the day working. Brooke was busy taking
care of Wyatt. Chris and Sheryl came over and then went to look at some housing
as they want to move here also. So I tagged along, we checked a couple of
places and the last one we looked at they really liked. They were going to look
at another one in the same complex later this afternoon. This evening we went
downtown for dinner at Pancho’s Takos. It is a place that has a 4 ½ star
rating. We tried different types of tacos. Before we got done eating Wyatt began
fussing so as soon as I got done eating I took him outside and walked up and
down the street which he really liked. His head was moving back and forth
trying to take everything in. The sunset was cancelled again this evening do to
a rain storm off the coast. We did have a good lighting display. We played a
game of Skip Bo which Darren won, he also won the game we played last night.

I had the alarm set for
4:45 am but was up at 4:00 am as I was wide awake. Brooke and Wyatt came out
before Darren and I left at 5:30 am. We picked up Christ at 6:00 am and headed
to the boat dock to do our deep sea fishing. We left the dock at 6:30 am in the
dark. We got to see the sunrise which was gorgeous. We traveled for an hour
before we got to the fishing grounds. The weather was great with 2 to 3 foot
swales, just a perfect day. This is the first time I have done any deep sea
fishing the way they do it here. They had seven lines in the waster as we
trolled. Whenever a fish gets hooked who ever turn it is gets in the captain
chair to reel in the fish. Anyway that was what I was told as we never even got
bite in the six hours we were out. We were disappointed but was still a nice
time with Darren and Chris. It was near 2:00 pm when we got back to Darren and
Brooke’s. Brooke’s mother Sheryl was there helping Brooke get bags unpacked and
put away. This evening all seven went out for dinner at Ah Caramba (The Lobster
House). Check out the pictures and view from the restaurant. We got back home
in time for the sunset, but is raining right now. Yep sunset canceled this
evening.
