Today was day that didn’t
go as planned. I wanted to work on Rick’s mower and put on the new drive belt
and mow the lawn but Rick called and said that the belt wouldn’t be in until late
tomorrow afternoon. So I made a trip to Lowe’s and picked up the materials for
tomorrow project. I spent some time in the shop getting things put back in
place and a little cleaning. Cheri was working on her quilt project. This
afternoon Cheri and I took Barbra (a lady that I will be installing kitchen
backsplash for) to Lakeland to look at backsplashes at Floors Decor and More.
Cheri went along to help Barbra pick out something that would go with the
counter top and wall paint. We did find a couple that she liked and brought
them home. She is waiting for a counter sample to make sure they go together. It
was around 3:00 pm when we got back home. I did some computer work and called
it a day. Cheri made us a French bread meat loaf for supper along with some watermelon.
We also had rain again this afternoon and received another ½ inch. The evening
was spent watching TV and napping. Thank you God for guiding us through another
day.

This Sunday was no
different than the past Sundays. Grandma went to church with us. Pastor Randy’s
message was from the book of Acts 9:10-18 titled Blind Faith. Our Sunday school
lesson was titled Deposed from the Book of 2 Samuel 15:10-16, 24-30. Once again
we were the last ones to leave Sunday school as we stayed visiting. It was
after 1:00 pm when we got home. We settled in for a restful afternoon watching
movies, NASCAR racing, and napping. Late this afternoon we had a rain storm
come through and received another ½ inch. We had pizza for supper and more TV
this evening watching an old John Wayne movie which we had seen many years ago
when it first came out. Thank you God for our time spent with you in church and
Sunday school with Christian friends.

Cheri and I were up early
and at the Donut Hole a little past 7:00 am for our breakfast sandwich and cinnamon
roll. After we eat we headed to Wal-Mart for groceries. We had to get around as
I had a 9:30 am appointment to remove two ceiling fans and install new ones. It
was around 12:30 pm when I got done. I ate my lunch on my way to Rick and
Gloria’s to mow their lawn. Well I didn’t have the drive belt on the mower
correctly from the idler pulley that I installed yesterday. The belt was off
the drive pulley and in the process it was destroyed. Rick is going to see
about getting a new one on Monday. So I was back home by 2:30 pm. Cheri had
been working in the sewing room and also getting her ironing done. After a
recliner rest we headed out to pick up Mike and Pam at 4:15 pm and went to Dade
City for dinner. We were going to go to Steph’s but was closed for vacation. We
ended up at Beef ‘O’ Brady’s. I had something new they have called Boom Boom Shrimp
which wasn’t very good. The rest had a good meal. We had to stop at Burger King
on the way out of town for ice cream cones. Then back to Mike and Pam’s to play
aggravation and SOB. Pam and Cheri beat Mike and me two out of three games of
aggravation and I was the lucky winner in SOB. Thank you God for time spent
with good friends.

Let’s see it is Friday
which means I was in Dade City for breakfast and Bible study. I got home a
little pass 8:00 am. I got cleaned up to take Cheri for her eye appointment in
Brooksville. She got a good report and doesn’t have to use the special eye
drops anymore. On the way home we stopped at the Florida Cracker Kitchen for an
early lunch and was home a little pass noon. I had some paper work to get done
and made a trip to the post office and bank. I called Rick to see if he got the
parts for his mower and said he did so I headed to his place to repair the
mower plus change oil, grease it, and put on different blades. It was 4:30 pm
when I got home. After a much needed shower Cheri had supper waiting for me.
After a little TV we made a trip to DQ for butter finger blizzards. Then back
home for more TV. Thank you God for a good report on Cheri’s eye.

I had a 9:00 am
appointment to meet a guy in Dade City. He owns an eight unit trailer park
north of Dade City and wants me to take care of the maintenance while he is
away. I think it is something that will work for me. He also had another house
for me to look at. My work for the day was back at Bob’s to finish the
generator install. I was done by 12:30 pm and made a stop at Lowe’s on the way
home to check on a few things that I will need for an upcoming project. Even
though I was home early I was still in need of a shower to get cleaned up. The
rest of the afternoon was spent doing computer work. Cheri spent the morning
with laundry. This afternoon she went to Dade City to check out a new quilt
shop that she found out about this week. She was pleased as she came home with
several pieces of material. Cheri fixed us spaghetti and meatballs for supper. It
was another evening of TV along with reading and napping before bed time. Thank
you God for another productive day.

Cheri was busy with the
Wednesday house work and then several other odd jobs she has been wanting to
get done. I headed back to Tampa Bay country to do some additional caulking on
the rain gutter I installed last week. Then I went to Bob’s to finish the
repair to the face board and soffit with Bob’s help. We put our ideas together
and came up with the best way to do the repair which turned out really well. We
were done by noon and Bob said that Ida Mae was on her way home with subs from
Jersey Mike’s for lunch. After lunch I work on Bob’s generator hookup to the
house. I needed a piece of conduit that I didn’t have with me so I wasn’t able
to finish the project today. Bob gave me the address of a guy who needs a new
outside water shutoff to the house along with some toilet repair. While I was
there I ended up with three additional houses near him that also want new
outside water shutoffs to their houses. On the way home I stopped at the place
where I installed the kitchen back splash. The guy that did the counter tops is
now done and I had some touchup caulking to do. It was 4:30 pm when I got home
tired and ready for a hot shower. We had leftovers for supper and another
evening of TV watching the Christmas in July movies from the Hall Mark channel.
We got a half inch of rain here while I was gone, never got any where I was
working today.

I had a good day at work.
I had a 9:00 am appointment to replace some of the drain piping under the
kitchen sink where I was yesterday to unplug the drains. I change some of the
pipe so it would have a better flow for draining. My next stop was to check out
an attic fan that wasn’t working. I found that the motor was burned out and
removed it. The guy is going to see about getting a new motor for it. So I will
be going back to reinstall it when he gets the new motor. My next stop was to
install a new toilet and bathroom sink. I also had to install new water shutoff
valves. While I was getting some parts out of the truck a lady was walking by
and wanted to know if I would look at her living room floor as she had removed
some of it to fix a water leak and want to know if I could replace the flooring
that she had removed. So I gave her an estimate and will wait to see if I get
the job. It was 4:30 pm when I got home. Being most of my work was inside today
where it was cooler to work was nice and wasn’t as tired when I got home. By
the time I got cleaned up Cheri had supper ready. She made a new recipe called
Beef Burgundy over Noodles which was very good. Cheri had worked on her Tuesday
house work and then spent time in her sewing room. We are still watching Christmas
in July movies from the Hallmark channel. Thank you God for a blessed day.

We got another inch of
rain yesterday late in the evening and all night. Actually it was still raining
some when I got up this morning. Cheri was busy with Monday house work, taking
Grandma for her doctor’s appointment, getting groceries for Grandma, getting Swiss
steak going in the crockpot, making a pan of bars. I had an appointment at 9:30
am in Tampa Bay country to unclog a garbage disposal that turned out to be all
the pipes were clogged. I did get all the drains working again but need to go
back tomorrow and work on some of the drains that weren’t plumbed correctly. My
next stop was to change a water filter and then on to Bob and Ida Mae’s to work
on the soffit and face board that is warped and needs to be replace. Well I got
rained out before I could finish the project. Plus Bob has to get some
additional materials for the project. On the way home I stopped at Lowes to get
the plumbing materials I need for tomorrow and return the wrong circuit breaker
I got for Bob’s generator install. I also checked out three trailers and a
small house that a guy wants me to look after when he is away. Late this
afternoon I worked on installing new connectors on the power cord for Bob’s
generator install, something I could do inside where it was cooler. After supper we settled in to watch a movie or
I should say Cheri watched as I slept through most of it. We also talked to
Darren late this afternoon and things are going well for them. He told us the
other day Wyatt was in the bedroom and could hear him talking to someone and
went in and found him doing a face time with one of Brooke’s fiends from Hawaii.
Maybe next time he will call us. Thank you God for guiding us through another
day.

Grandma didn’t go to
church with us today as we had a guess speaker from Lalitpur, Nepal and there
wouldn’t be any message notes for her. He spoke on how he became a Christian
and the hardship they all go through in Nepal. Only two percent of the people
in Nepal are Christians. After Sunday school we stopped by Judy Clark’s to get
the instructions on how to assemble the gazebo she bought. It is a project that
I will be doing in the next couple of weeks. We had a nice visit with Judy and
her sister who was there making a quilt so Cheri and she had a lot to talk
about. It was around 1:30 pm when we got home. I put the new hinges on the
chest that Cheri had been working on and now is all done. I was going to reload
the truck to have it ready for tomorrow but it was 94 degrees out and high
humidity, decided it was too hot to be out. Cheri settled in with the novel she
is reading and I the NASCR race which was in a rain delay so it was pretty late
getting started. We had pizza for supper and then more TV. Late this afternoon
it started to rain and had several rain storms come through all night long. Thank
you God for time spent with you today.

I was up a little before
5:00 am and could tell Cheri was awake. Normally she would go back to sleep but
not this morning as she got up right away. So we were at the Donut Hole at 6:45
am for our egg, bacon, and cheese on a fresh croissant that we split. This time
we each had a filled Long john. Normally we only have a couple of bites and
then have the croissant sandwich but that didn’t happen this morning as lady
forgot to put our order in. She really felt bad and before we left and told us
we could have an additional free sandwich or a half dozen donuts so we took the
donuts. When we got home I loaded some tools and headed for Rick and Gloria’s
to finish mowing the lawn and work on the lawn mower. When I arrived John was
already mowing. After the mowing I cleaned up the mower and found an idler
pulley that had a bad bearing. Rick is going to get a new one along with oil so
I can get it fixed before we have to mow again next week. When I got home I
found Cheri in the sewing room working on her new quilt project. This afternoon
we met Mike and Pam at their new house so they could show me some of the things
they want me to do before they move in. Cheri and I also gave them some additional
ideas for them to think about. Then the four of us went out for dinner at the Abbey
in St Leo. The food was good and nice and quite so we could visit. On the way
back to Mike and Pam’s we stopped and each got an ice cream cone at Burger King
Drive through. When we got back to Mike and Pam’s we started measuring some of furniture
to see if it would fit in the new house where they want it. It was around 7:30
pm when we got home. Cheri did some reading and I did some work on the computer.

I was out the door at 6:10
am heading for Dade City to have breakfast and Bible study with my accountability
group. In the Bible study we finished the last chapter of Luke and will start
our study next week with the book of Romans. I got home around 8:00 am and
called John Burton as he is going to help me mow Rick and Gloria’s lawn. We
decided to get it done this forenoon but got rained out and will try again
tomorrow. I was back home in time to have lunch with Cheri. She had been doing
the Friday laundry and was working on putting another coat of paint on her
chest project. In between rain showers we went to Lowe’s so I could get
materials for next week’s project of installing a new toilet and bathroom sink.
I also got materials for a standby generator install. Cheri got new hinges for
her chest. When we got home I did some computer work and was going to go out to
work in the shop but decided that the recliner was a better option (lazy).
Cheri fixed us leftover meatloaf along with some cauliflower for supper. We continued
watching more of the Christmas in July movies we had recorded from the Hallmark
channel. Thank you God for getting us through another day.

I left early to Lowe’s to
get the materials that I wanted to get yesterday which were four 4X8 roof sheathing.
When I got them home I cut them down close to the size I need for the sign roof
project in Tampa Bay country. I called Bob and Ida Mae to see if they were home
so I could put in the under counter lights and repair the outside landscape
lights. I got the under counter lights done and tried to get the landscape
light repaired but found several bad lights and the low voltage wire was in
pretty bad shape. So they have decided that they are going to get new solar
lights. On the way home I stopped at another place to check out installing a
new toilet and a new sink with faucets, he already has the toilet and I have to
get the sink and faucets. Cheri was busy doing the laundry and then worked on a
painting project of a small chest that is in the sunroom. Cheri fixed us meatloaf
and mashed potatoes for supper. It was another evening of Christmas in July
movies and popcorn (for me) for a snack. Thank you God for this day.

I left early this morning
to head over to Tampa Bay country as we had rain coming and I wanted to get the
rain gutter and down spout put up before the rain came. Well as it turned out
it started to rain just as I finished putting up the rain gutter. The rain
didn’t last all that long but was soaked by the time I got the down spout
installed. I guess I would have been wet either from the rain or from being
sweaty. I was done and home by noon to have lunch with Cheri and then a shower.
After lunch I was going to go to Lowe’s for materials for another project but
the afternoon rain put a stop to that because some of the lumber would have
been sticking out of the truck box. I have another person that is interested in
a standby generator and she wants one with electric start so I spent afternoon
checking out generators. I also took the truck through the car wash which seems
kind of stupid when it is raining out but want to get a coat of wax on it to
better shed the rain water. On the way home I stopped to see the lady that
wants the new counter tops. I had done some searching and found out that she
could have hers recoated. Another couple in the park is having it done and she
is going to check theirs out when it is done. Cheri went shopping here in town
as she had a few thing she wanted to check out. We had leftover baby back ribs
and salad for supper and some ice cream later while watching TV. Thank you God
for a blessed day.

I wanted to go to Lowe’s
early this morning to pick up the rain gutters, down spouts, and the rest of
the materials to do the install tomorrow. Cheri wanted to go with me to see
about getting some paint for a project she wants to do. So we went out for
breakfast at the Donut Hole. We ordered the same thing that we had the last
time we were there. Cheri really likes the cinnamon roll for her sweet tooth.
While we were out we also made a stop at the bank. We were back home from Lowe’s
by 9:30 am. I went to work on cutting the rain gutter to the right length and
installing the water discharge opening. I was done by noon and after lunch I
got the truck packed and ready for tomorrow. After my shower Cheri and I went
to Wal-Mart for a few things and then to Wesley Chapel to shop at Sam’s Club.
Yea! They had baby back ribs ready to eat. Also got a few other things along
with salt for the water softener. Yep we had ribs with a cauliflower salad
along with a piece of raisin cinnamon toast for supper. We have been watching Christmas
in July movies on the Hallmark channel. Just doesn’t seem right to be watching
Christmas movies in July. Thank you God for our time we spent together today.

This morning I had an
appointment to take a lady here in the park to Lowe’s to help her in checking
on kitchen counter tops as she want to get new ones. After checking with Lowe’s
we also went to Home Depot to check. I was shocked at how much they will cost,
more than double what I paid for them that last time I bought some but that was
sixteen years ago. I had got a call from the VA yesterday and wanted me to go
to Tampa for another Lab test which was an interruption to my planned day for
work. After the lab appointment I headed to Tampa Bay country and installed a
patio screen door and then to another place to install a new ceiling fan in the
lanai. It was 5:30 pm when I got home from a very hot days work. I headed for
the shower to get cleaned up while Cheri got supper, she fixed steak in the
oven along with cauliflower. Cheri took Grandma for her knee appointment today
which always takes a long time to get in. She also got groceries and worked in
her sewing room. After supper we watched a movie we had recorded and went to
bed early as we were both tired, better to be in in bed than sleeping in the
recliner. Thank you God for guidance today.

Sometimes I wonder why I do
a Sunday Blog as it is usually the same every Sunday. Grandma went to church
with us today. Pastor Randy had a good message today and Sunday school was very
good. We were the last ones to leave the class room as we had been visiting
with others. After we dropped Grandma off we made a stop at Larry and Denise’s
house to check on the air conditioner and very thing was working like it
should. We got a call from Mike and Pam checking to see if we were home and
stopped over as Pam had a book for Cheri to read. We had a good visit as they
were telling us about their new home which should be ready for them to move
into in September. They have a few things they want me to do before they move
in. For me the rest of the afternoon was spent watching the NASCR race that I
had recorded and Cheri reading her novel. After Sunday pizza we settled in to
watch a couple of movies we had recorded. Thank you God for time spent with
good friends today.

Cheri and I went out for
breakfast a little past 7:00 am at the Donut Hole where we had breakfast last
Tuesday. Only this time we got one egg, bacon, and cheese on a fresh croissant
to split along with a fresh cinnamon rolls and coffee. Late yesterday afternoon
I stopped by Larry and Denise’s house where a couple of days before I changed
the temp setting from 85 degrees to 83 degrees because I thought it was a
little musty in the house. Well I got to thinking that I should have just set
the humidistat a little lower. Well when I went into the house it was 91
degrees and the air conditioner was running but the blower fan wasn’t working.
Being too late to do anything yesterday I shut off the air conditioner and decide
check it out this morning. After much checking I found that the Blower starting
relay wasn’t working. Now that it was Saturday was I going to be able to find a
place to see about getting a new relay. After checking two place that were
closed I finally found a place that was open and they had the relay I needed. So
by noon the Air conditioner was fixed and working. I also stopped to see a lady
that had called me to do some work for a few days back and decide to tell her I
wouldn’t be able to do any work for her as I could tell from talking to her and
hearing her bad mouth everyone that had done something for her that I would be
able to please her and then have her tell people that I didn’t do a good job.
Cheri was busy working in her sewing room on a new project. This evening we
were invited over to Bob and Ida Mae’s for dinner and a game of Phase Ten that
Ida Mae won. It was 10:00 pm when we arrive back home. Thank you God for
guiding us and helping us through another day.

Why is Friday the 13th
an unlucky day? I did a quick search and no one really knows why for sure. There
are all different kinds of answers. Well for me it was a good day. My day
started with breakfast and Bible study at 6:30 am with my Accountably Group in
Dade City. I worked over in Tampa Bay country and got my plumbing job done
along with the other things I had to do at this place. On the way home I check
out another job of installing an eight foot section of rain gutter with down
spouts. I was home by 2:30 pm and glad to get in the shower as it was another
hot day. After my shower I went for much needed haircut. Then a stop at Lowe’s
to check out the rain gutters and not sure which size I am supposed to install
so I need to check that out next week. Cheri had supper ready when I got home.
Cheri did her Friday laundry and then went shopping down in Lakeland. It was an
evening watching TV along with a dish of ice cream. Thank you God for good day.

It was a no work day for
me as I had a doctor’s appointment at the VA in Tampa this morning. On the way
home I did stop and fill the car with gas and a stop at Harbor Freight looking
for an electrical current tester. I did buy some cheap batteries for an old
tester I have to see if I can get it to work. This afternoon I took Grandma for
her eye appointment which took most of the afternoon. On the way home I made a
stop at Lowe’s to get what I needed to finish the plumbing project in Tampa Bay
country. It was near 5:00 pm when I got home. Cheri was busy doing her usual
Thursday house work and Landry. For supper Cheri fixed us spiced pork loin
steaks along with a new recipe of spicy potatoes which was very good. Cheri
ordered a new round rug to put under the platform rocker in the Sunroom. It
came this evening and Cheri is very happy with it. We watched a new episode of
Yellowstone this evening which Cheri likes because Kevin Costner is in it.

I worked over in Tampa Bay
country today doing a plumbing project to get water to a refrigerator that they
had installed outside in their lanai. I thought I would get done today but I
had bought a wrong size water valve and had to make a trip to Ace Hardware in
Wesley Chapel for the right valve. It turned out I have a small leak around the
valve as it was 4:00 pm I decided to finish the project Friday as I also have a
couple other projects to do for them. It was 4:45 pm when I arrived home. Once
again I headed for the shower as it hot working outside in the lanai. Cheri did
her Wednesday house cleaning, went for a haircut, and grocery shopping. We had
leftover German potato salad along with a hamburger for supper. I got a text
today from the guy that was interested in Mike’s motorcycle asking me questions
on how the bike was lowered and how it affects the riding of the bike. I texted
him back and told him to call me so we can discuss it. It was another evening
of TV. We watched an old episode of Big Valley and some RV shows. Watching the
RV shows got my blood pumping as I would really like to be able to do some
RVing again. Thank you God for being with us today.

As of today Cheri and I
have lived here in this house which is our dear home for five years. It was a
no work day. Cheri and I had a date day instead of a date night. We had tickets
for Bush Gardens and today was our day to go. I surprised Cheri this morning as
I took her out for breakfast at the Donut Hole. We had an egg, bacon, cheese, and
spinach on a fresh croissant along with a fresh cinnamon roll and coffee. We
were at Bush Gardens just before it opened at 10:00 am so we could see the animals
before it got too hot. We rode the train to the other side of the park to see
more animals and birds. We ended our time watching a high energy ice skating
show. We left the park at 2:00 pm as we has seen everything that we wanted to
see and it was getting very hot. On the way home we stopped at Wawa to get a
free pint of New England clam chowder that we had a coupon for along with a
flat bread chicken sandwich that we took home for supper. We weren’t home very
long before Jean came over for a visit. After Jean left we had supper and
settled in for an evening of TV. Thank you God for showing us the beautiful creatures
that you put into this world.

I didn’t have a lot going
on today and enjoyed it. I cleaned out the truck from Saturdays work. I went
over to Cousin Rick’s and installed the front door weather seal. Then I went to
Lowe’s to get the materials I need for a plumbing job I will be doing on
Wednesday. This afternoon I went to check out a kitchen counter top that a lady
wants to replace. I have an appointment with her on Monday morning to take her
to Lowe’s to help her pick out a counter top which will have to be built. Later
this afternoon I stopped by a lady’s house and she has several things she wants
done like putting up drapery rods, repair popcorn ceiling, hang a bug zapper, install
an electrical outlet, and repair some rain cutter leaks. From hearing about all
the problems she has had with other people I am not sure I can please her.
Cheri took Grandma for her doctor’s appointment which took up most of the
morning and didn’t get home until 11:30 am. For supper Cheri made hot German potato
salad long with hamburgers which was really good. I napped and watched some TV
while Cheri was reading her novel. Thank you God for the day you provided for
us.

It was a typical Sunday
for us as Grandma went to church with us and then Sunday school. We stayed
around after Sunday school visiting and were just about the last people to
leave. After we dropped Grandma off we stopped at Wawa so Cheri could have a chocolate
shake and me a peach smoothie. This afternoon Cheri got a call from Pam letting
us know they were home and that the offer they put on a new house was accepted
(good news). We also got a call from Larry and Denise as we had checked their house
here and I changed the temp to 83 degrees as I thought it smelled a little
musty in the house. Larry and I had a good visit on what they have done since
leaving Florida the summer. The rest of the afternoon was napping and watching
TV. This evening we had our usual pizza for supper. Thank you God for time

Cheri and I were at the
Sunrise Eatery at 6:45 am. We needed to be early as I had a 9:00 am appointment
over in Tampa Bay country to install the attic door. Cheri was out and about
this forenoon shopping and getting groceries for Grandma. Things went well for
the attic door install and was done by 11:15 am. I have an appointment to
install a new screen door on Monday but thought I would check it out while I was
in Tampa Bay country. It looked like it was going to be an easy job and as long
as they were home I decided to do it today. Well as it turned out the new door
was vinyl coated wood and was warped and wouldn’t fit in the opening. I told
them that the old door could be repaired and wouldn’t have to get a new one. They
are going to discuss it and let me know what they are going to do. I was back
home by 1:15 tired, sweaty, and ready for a shower. Cheri came home while I was
getting dressed. We had a late lunch and then we took a drive to check out two
more work projects. One lady wanted me to make the window grids in the patio
doors removable so it would be easier for her to wash the windows. Well after
checking it out, it isn’t posable because the grid is part of the frame that
holds the glass in. The next project we checked is building a 10 x 12 foot
patio from a kit that she is going to order. I had to check where she wants it
to see if it would fit in the spot where the old is. I will have to have help
with this project when it comes to installing the roof. On the way home we
stopped at Lowe’s as Cheri wanted to see what they have for rugs. She is
looking for a round rug to put in the sun room under the rocker. I also checked
out 10 foot step ladders as I have had a few jobs where it would have been
easier if I had one. From there we headed over to Harbor Freight to buy a 6
foot level. Cheri was going to fix hamburgers for supper but forgot to take the
hamburger out of the freezer. So we decided to eat supper at the Sunrise Eatery
as we were right next door. It was around 5:30 pm when we got home to settle in
for an evening of TV. Thank you God for the day you provided for us.

I was out the door at 6:10
am headed to Dade City for my accountability breakfast and Bible study. Today
we studied Acts chapter 26. This morning Cheri took Grandma for her doctor’s appointment.
She was also busy with the Friday laundry. I worked outside getting my shop
area cleaned up and the truck ready for today’s project. I installed a deadbolt
on the front door for Cousin Rick and also cut and spliced some plywood to
cover windows in case of a hurricane. I was also supposed to install a new
weather strip on the bottom of the door. I looked in Lowe’s for one and couldn’t
find one. So when I got done at Rick’s I went on to Home Depot and found the
right weather strip for the door. But was too tired to go back and install it
today. When I got home I restocked the truck and loaded the attic door that I will
be installing tomorrow. After supper we went to Wawa to have a shake for Cheri
and a free smoothie for me. I had a coupon for the free smoothie. We went to
Wawa earlier than we planned on because there were a lot of lighting and
thunder and could see a storm coming. But still got a little damp getting back
in the car. A little later after we were home I went out to the truck to get a note
pad and there was a beautiful rainbow from end to end across the sky. Thank you
God with ending the day with a beautiful rainbow.

It was a stay at home work
today. I finished getting the attic door built and ready for install on
Saturday. It was another hot day in the mid 90’s. I was going to do some
cleaning of the shop when I got done with the door but was tired, sweaty, and decided
the shop could wait until tomorrow morning when it’s not so hot. Cheri had a
busy day with Laundry, going grocery shopping, and made a quesadilla casserole
from a new recipe for supper. It was ok but nothing special. Cheri said that
she wouldn’t make it again. Late afternoon and evening we watched some movies
we recorded. Yes there was some napping done by both me and Cheri. We had rain
this evening and into the night. I check the rain gauge and we received another
½ inch. Thank you God for today.

I hope everyone had good
holiday. Cheri and I stayed home. I worked outside on building the attic door I
will be installing Saturday. It was very hot so I took a break from the door to
go over to the neighbors and finish the popcorn ceiling project and work on the
transition strip. I was able to run it through the saw and cut off the broken
part and still had enough to reinstall it. Then it was back to work on the
attic door. Around 3:00 pm it started to rain so that was the end of my work
day which was OK as I was ready to quit. I was tired, hot, sweaty, and ready
for a shower. Cheri spent most of the day looking through patterns and material
planning her next sewing project. For supper Cheri fixed the last of the roast
beef on toast with gravy. The evening was spent reading, watching TV, and
snacking. I didn’t check the rain gauge but would guess we got about a ¼ inch.
Thank you God for helping us through another day with your blessings.

It was another very hot
day. I worked outside for a while restocking tool and material tubs for the
truck. I spray painted the neighbors air conditioner return vent. I went to
Lowe’s to get the popcorn spray to repair her bathroom ceiling. I also got some
stain to see if I could fix the wood floor. I did get the popcorn ceiling
repaired and will have to go back tomorrow to reinstall the air vent and
exhaust fan. The stain for the floor didn’t work and she has decided to wait on
the floor. The transition strip between the hallway and kitchen was broke so I
went back to Lowe’s to see about a new one but didn’t have any the right color.
So I will talk to her tomorrow to see what she wants to do. Cheri was busy with
her Tuesday housework. I was done early this afternoon. After a hot shower I
headed to the recliner for TV and a nap along with Cheri reading and napping.
Later this evening we went out to the new Wawa to get chocolate shake’s that
are on sale for the grand opening. We also got another ¼ inch of rain. Thank
you God for what you do for us.

This morning I installed a
new attic fan at the place where I removed the old on last week. I started
early before it got too hot in the attic. By the time I got done it was already
up to 90 degrees. They also had some of the rain gutters that needed to be
repaired that were coming loose from the house. I removed the nails that had
come loose and replaced them with screws. Then I did a cleaning as the
downspouts were plugged with pine needles and leaves. It was noon when I got
home and was 97 degrees out. I was ready for a second shower as I was wet from
sweating. After lunch I sat down for a while and ended up taking a long nap. I
decided it was too hot to do any more work outside. I did get an estimate done
for a possible job over in Tampa Bay country. This morning Cheri got a beef
roast going in the crockpot to have for supper. Then she took Grandma for her
lab appointment and a trip to the bank. Thank you God for a good day.

Another month has slipped
away and the year is half over. For the most part Cheri and I spent a pretty
quiet day. Grandma went to church with us. It was a celebration of America and
how our country was set up from the bible. Pastor Randy had a very interesting
message. Sunday school was very good as we were studying 2 Samuel 9:1-13. God
is honored when we extend kindness to others. This afternoon Cheri read and
napped and I watched the NASCAR race and napped. We are both still tired from
our trip. Late this afternoon we met Ron & Sandy and Mike & Pam at
Pizza Hut for supper and visiting. It is time for us to look for another place
for a meal and visiting as Pizza Hut was really bad. Ron and Sandy’s pizza came
out over baked and wasn’t suitable to eat and ours was under cooked. A hard
rain came through while we were eating and received another inch. Thank you God
for a day spent with you and Christian friends.

Cheri and I were at
Sunrise Eatery a little pass 7:00 am for breakfast. It was good to be back for
our Saturday morning breakfast together. Cheri said that she had no plans for
today so it will be interesting to see what she does. I make some phone calls
to see about checking out some additional jobs. While waiting for some call
backs I went to Lowe’s to get some materials for and attic door I will be doing
next week. Before I got home I received call backs so headed to Tampa Bay
country to check them out. The first stop was for measurements for the attic
door. Next was to see about doing a plumbing project to get water to a refrigerator
on the patio. Next was to check out a couple of roofs over signs that need to
be replace. On the way home it rained so hard that it was hard to see to drive.
My last stop was back at Lowe’s to price out materials for the sign roofs. I
have to submit an estimate for the project. When I got home Cheri said that she
went to Walgreens to have some photos printed and then made a batch of chocolate
chip cookies. I checked the rain gauge and we received another inch today.
