It was 56 degrees is
morning which made it nice for walking, was able to wear shorts and a light
jacket. I took Cheri for her 9:00 am PT. She continues doing her exercises here
at home plus more help with the house chores. I went over to Donna Perkins this
morning as she had some questions on some things she wants to do in her
kitchen. I had a nice visit with her and is planning to have someone come in
and do some painting for her. Later I went to check out the kitchen popcorn
ceiling I did yesterday. It was dry but didn’t blend well with the old ceiling.
I was very unhappy with it. I didn’t do good enough job of blending the hole
patches. But they are happy with the way it turned out. I came home very disappointed.
I took the rest of the day off and watched the Badger football game, the last
game for the season. This evening we picked up Dennis (the guy I walk with) and
his wife Suzanne and took them to Harry’s in Lakeland for dinner. We had a good
time, first time we have done anything together. It was near 7:30 pm when we
got home. We were both tired and decide to go to bed and watch TV there. Thank
you God for being with us today and time spent with new friends.

It was another nice
morning for walking, 54 degrees. Cheri slept in because I was leaving at 6:30
am and wouldn’t be here to help her out of the shower. I headed to Dade City
for my accountability group breakfast and Bible study. We finished Acts chapter
four. It was around 9:00 am when I got home. I helped Cheri with a few things
before heading out to work on the kitchen project. Today was popcorn day. I got
things masked off and sprayed the popcorn finish on the ceiling. I wasn’t happy
with the way it turned out as I should have done a better job on the ceiling
patching. It was a job as I had a big clean up job when I got done spraying. I
worked through the lunch hour as I didn’t want quit until I was done. So it was
3:00 pm when I got done with the cleanup and cleaning the spay gun. So we had an
early supper of leftovers. Cheri continues to do her exergies and some additional
work in the house still using her cane to get around. A little after 5:00 pm I
headed out Tampa Bay country to check out a job for a client that I have done a
lot of work for. I told them I couldn’t do it but wanted me to come over and
check it out and wanted pointers on what needed to be done. It was 7:00 pm when
I got home. We watched a couple of episodes of Life below Zero the Next
Generation and some more home improvement shows before calling it a night.
Thank you God for helping us through this day.
Gay Dec-28-20

It was a much nicer walk
this morning as the temp was back up to 54 degrees. I took Cheri for her 9:00
am PT. The therapist was very happy with the progress that she has made the last
couple of days. I also took her for her heart doctor appointment at 11:30 am.
She also got a good report from him and doesn’t have to go back for six months.
It was noon when she got done with her doctor appointment so we went to BK to
use another of our coupons for Whoppers, fries, and drinks for lunch. After
lunch I went and fixed our neighbors screen that came off in the wind storm the
other day. I also moved a few things around in my work area. I got things
together for tomorrow when I work on spraying the popcorn ceiling at the
kitchen project. I made a trip to the
post office to mail a package of an item I was returning that wouldn’t work for
me. Cheri was busy with exercises and reading her novel. She also got a meat
loaf going in the crockpot for supper plus baked beans going in another
crockpot for supper. This evening we watched a couple of movies and home improvement
shows. Thank you God for a productive day and keeping us healthy.
Gay Dec-27-20

It was another cold 30
degrees morning for the walk. Helped Cheri with her shower, made the bed, got
Cheri’s medications ready, fixed breakfast, and coffee. After breakfast Cheri
was busy with her exercises. After I shaved and dressed I got the computer set
up to stream the church service at 10:00 am and then the Sunday school class at
11:30 am. Just before 1:00 pm I got the pizza in oven. This afternoon Cheri
started watching some movies that she recorded. I did some computer work and
was having a problem receiving some of the e-mails. I talked to Darren and he
fixed the problem. I tried to watch a movie with Cheri but soon was asleep.
Cheri also spend a lot of time reading. I tried to do some reading but couldn’t
stay awake. We did stay up to watch the Green Bay Packer football game and was
11:30 pm when I finally turned off the TV. Thank you God for time spent with
you today.
Gay Dec-26-20

It was a cold 30 degrees
for the morning walk. The temp for the day never got above 50 degree until 3:00
pm and topped out at 51 degrees. I didn’t even go out to the Hole-in-one donut
shop this morning. I figured that they probably were closed like they were at
Thanksgiving. I did go out for groceries this morning and that was all I did
for the day. Was going to do the popcorn spraying on the kitchen project but
was too cold to mix the plaster. Cheri continued doing her exercises. So our
day was reading and never turned on the TV until 1:00 pm to watch the Tampa Bay
buccaneers football game. After the game I fixed leftover lasagna for supper. I
was excited to see that we had NBC back on Dish and now will be able to see the
Green Bay Packer football game tomorrow night. It was an evening of TV watching
Gold Rush the Dirt, a movie, and some home improvement shows. Thank you God for
a relaxing day and keeping us healthy and safe.

Merry Christmas to everyone.
Many of us weren’t able to celebrate with family because of the virus. But that
should not stop us from celebrating the birth of Jesus. Cheri and I made
breakfast together having scrambled eggs, bacon, English muffin with jelly,
juice, and coffee. I did do a load of laundry which we do the bedding on Fridays.
We got a face time call from Darren and Wyatt showed us all the toys he got. He
was excited about the transformers he received. Later Sandy (Cheri’s sister) and
Greg called from Maine and it was 55 degrees there and only 49 here but did
warm to 52 degrees here. Not going to find it very often that it is colder in
Florida than Maine. The rest of our day was spent reading, napping, and
watching TV. Around 2:00 pm I put lasagna in the oven to have for an early
dinner as we didn’t have any lunch. Thank you God for sending your son Jesus to
save the world from our sins.
Gay Dec-24-20

Well your time is running out
if you need to buy a Christmas present for your sweetie. The temp was just
right for our walk this morning. I helped Cheri with her shower and while she
was getting dressed I started a load of laundry. After breakfast I was able to
get the laundry into the dryer and another load started in the washer. Then it
was time to take Cheri for her PT. When we got home she needed to have the ice
machine on her knee. I went next door to work on the kitchen project but only
some electrical and for only an hour and a half. When I got home I fixed us a late lunch. After
lunch I did some internet searching on how thick to mix the popcorn plaster
that I hope to do Saturday if it isn’t too cold. I finished up the third load
of laundry. After a shower and getting cleaned
up I joined Cheri as she was busy reading her novel. I started to do some
reading when we got a call from Nikki wishing us a Merry Christmas and had a nice
long visit with her. We had leftovers from our meal at Harry’s which was still
very good. Early this evening Donna Perkins brought over some fresh baked
coffee cake that was still warm. This evening we watch NCIS LA, Property
Brothers, and another home improvement show before calling it a night. Thank
you God for a blessed day.
Gay Dec-23-20

It was another good day.
Always look forward to the morning walk with Dennis. Couldn’t linger around
this morning as had to get Cheri to PT at 9:00 am. On the way home from the PT
we stopped at the pharmacy to pick up more meds for Cheri. I had gotten a text
from the party that I installed the hot water heater for and wanted me to come
and set it for hotter water and fix an outside outlet that wasn’t working for
Christmas lights. I left the house at 11:00 am to take care of that project all
that was wrong with the out let was the ground fault breaker was tripped from
rain. Then I got the thermostat set higher on the water heater. I called Bob
Conover who lives in Tampa Bay country and stopped over to visit with him. He
is going through many health issues along with cancer. It was good to see him
and have a visit with him. When I got home I went to work unpacking the kitchen
cabinets that came last night. They were piled high on three pallets and needed
help so I when to see if Dennis could come over and help unpack them. He came
right over to help with unpacking, inspecting, and getting them in our sunroom until
it is time to install them. Thank you Dennis for your help as I couldn’t have
done it by myself. Cheri and I headed out to Lakeland to have dinner at Harry’s
(our favorite place to eat). It was Cheri’s second outing and got along well
with the cane and my arm to help her. The food was excellent as always and
brought home enough for another meal. It was after 6:00 pm when we arrived
home. We watched some home improvement shows before calling it a night. Thank
you God for helping us through this day.

We had another good day. A
little cooler for the morning walk. I left the house at 6:30 am heading to Dade
City for my accountability group breakfast and Bible study. It was around 9:00
am when I got home. Cheri was busy vacuuming the floor and then mopped it. She
is using the cane most of the time now but has to hobble around with the vacuum
cleaner and mop. I went right to work on the kitchen project. I got the wire
run for the stove and the floor put back together. I was done by 2:30 pm. Nice
to be done early. Cheri made a casserole for me to take over to Pam and Mikes.
Pam just got out of the hospital this afternoon. They were sitting outside in
their patio so I sat and had a nice visit with them. It was around 4:00 pm when
I got home. After my shower I warmed up the leftover enchiladas for supper. We
had settled in for the night watching TV when at 6:15 pm I got a call from the
trucking company saying he was out at our park entrance and had three pallets
cabinets. He didn’t think he could into the park with the big semi and had to convince
him that he could because I had cabinet delivered before and they had no
problem. They were supposed to notify me a couple of days in advance. So it was
a surprise and unloaded them in the dark and couldn’t check them out to see if
there was any damage. I looked with the flash light and from what I could see everything
looked ok. Then it was back to watching our evening TV shows. Thank you God for
blessed day and time spent with the men in the accountability group.
Gay Dec-21-20

It was a good day and
everything went as planned. Good weather for the morning walk with Dennis,
helping Cheri with her shower, making the bed, getting us breakfast, and coffee
all before leaving the house at 8:45 am for Cheri’s PT. When we got home I got
Cheri settled in her recliner and the ice machine hooked up which she needed
after the PT workout. I cleaned some of the stuff out of the truck that I didn’t
need for today. Then took the old water heater to the recycle place and got
$10.68. By the time I was done with all of that I fixed us an early lunch so I
could go and work on the kitchen project. I got some flooring removed so I can
run some additional wire for the stove as it will be in a different location. I
also removed the air return box and laid the filter over the hole in the floor.
I cut in another opening in the existing wall to add and outlet plus a splice
point for electrical. I even had time to go to Lowes to get the electrical that
I hope to install tomorrow. It was around 4:30 pm when I got home. Cheri had
been doing her exercises and walking, she also made Beef Enchiladas for supper.
It was nice that I didn’t have to think about what I was going to fix. It was a
normal evening of TV as we watched a three hour episode of Gold Rush before
calling it a night. Thank you God for a blessed day.
Gay Dec-20-20

I really don’t have much
to write about today. I did the morning walk with Dennis, helped Cheri with her
shower, fixed breakfast, and coffee. By the time the bed was make and kitchen
cleaned up it was time to stream the church service at 10:00 am. The virus is
under control and the choir was back. After the church service we streamed the
Sunday school lesson. It was 12:45 pm before Charlie got done. Then it was time
to get the pizza in the oven for a late lunch. Cheri got all of her exercises
done before the church service but continued to walk throughout the day, making
more progress. The rest of the afternoon Cheri watch some Hallmark movies and I
napped. I woke up at 5:00 pm and after I got my thoughts together I got up and
fixed us the usual Sunday evening English muffin with peanut butter along with
a chocolate chip cookie. We watched some of the new fall shows before calling
it a night. Thank you God for time spent with you, church, and Sunday school.
Gay Dec-19-20

Today’s walk was about the
same temp as yesterday. After getting Cheri out of the shower I headed to the
Hole-in-One donut shop to get our usual Saturday morning breakfast sandwich and
cinnamon rolls. At 9:00 am I was getting things ready to go and work on the
kitchen project when I got a call from a client in Tampa Bay country telling me
that there hot water heater was leaking and didn’t have any hot water. So I
headed over to check it out. I turned off the power and hooked a hose to start
draining it. I ended up going to Lowes to get a new water heater and all the
plumbing fitting I needed to change out the old one. After Lowes I went home to
fix dinner for us with Cheri’s help. Then it was back to Tampa Bay Country to
remove the old water heater and install the new one. Everything went well and
was back home by 4:30 pm. On the way home I wanted to drop off the old water
heater at the recycling but it was closed. After a shower and getting cleaned
up I fixed us Fajita Chicken with rice in a fajita sauce with bell peppers and
onions. Sounds like I did a lot to prepare it but it was a frozen bag dinner,
but had to add some additional seasoning to make it taste good. Cheri spent her
day with exercises and reading a novel. This evening it was watching the
Wisconsin Badger football game I recorded and then the Green Bay Packer game.
Cheri went to bed around 9:00 pm and watched TV. It was 11:30 pm when I finally
got to bed. Thank you God for productive day and keeping us healthy.
Gay Dec-18-20

I needed a heaver jacket
this morning for my walk, a little colder than yesterday. I was supposed to go
and get groceries yesterday as we were out of milk. Well that didn’t happen so
Cheri fixed us pancakes for breakfast this morning. I did get the bedding in
the washing machine early. We left the house at 8:45 am taking Cheri for her
PT. While she was doing her PT I went to Lowes to buy some spray for inside the
house and a stop at the bank for a deposit. After picking up Cheri we stopped
at the pharmacy to pick up Cheri’s meds. After I got her settled at home I went
grocery shopping. Cheri had a list of things that I needed to pick up. I couldn’t
believe how busy the grocery store was. When I got home with the groceries
Cheri put them away while I headed out to BK. We had a coupon for two Whoppers,
two fries, and two drinks for nine dollars. It was Cheri’s idea for them,
wonder if she is getting tired of what I have been fixing for her. I had
planned on working this afternoon but by the time everything was done it was
too late to get anything done. Cheri and I both read our books this afternoon.
Cheri continues to make more progress each day. She still needs my help in
doing things. With the big lunch today we only had a hotdog for supper. This
evening we watched more of Alaska the Last Frontier. We really enjoy watching
that show. Thank you God for a blessed day.
Gay Dec-17-20

It was a normal morning
with the walk, helping Cheri, making the bed, and having breakfast together. I
did start a load of laundry early after Cheri got done with her shower. By 7:00
am it was ready for the dryer and then started another load. I did some computer
work which took a while. Then back to fold the laundry and getting a third load
started. Then I headed out to work on the kitchen project. I got the second
coat of plaster on and hung a sheet of drywall before lunch. When I got home
Cheri had made a batch of Chocolate chip cookies and finished the laundry. This
afternoon I cleaned the truck bed out and loaded up things to take to the recycling
center. I actually made 21 dollars. Then I made a trip to Home Depot to see
about getting a cut in electrical box that they didn’t have at Lowes, well they
didn’t have it at Home Depot either. I hate going to Home Depot because it is
so hard to get out of their parking lot on to the highway because of all the
traffic. It was around 4:30 pm when I got home. I headed to the shower to get
cleaned up and then started supper. We had leftovers from the skillet meal we
had a couple days ago. Cheri continues to improve some each day, doing more
walking with the cane. It was a normal evening of TV. Thank you God for helping
us through this day.
Gay Dec-16-20

The morning walk was about
the same temp as yesterday, just a light jacket. I took Cheri for her 9:00 am
haircut then back home so she could curl her hair before going to PT at 10:00
am. It was near 11:30 am when we got home. We were both hungry so we had an
early lunch. I got Cheri hooked up to the ice machine as her knee was hurting
from the PT. She is doing more walking with a cane. I did some computer work
and got some authorizations to return some items that I had ordered and didn’t
need. I made a trip to Lowes to return some electrical things that I didn’t
need for the kitchen project. I also bought some new pails of damp rid for
Larry and Denise’s house. Cheri called me and wanted me to bring home subs from
Jersey Mike’s for supper. So we ended up having an early supper. During one of
the shows we were watching was talking about telling stories and Cheri said
would you tell me a story? So I said “I Love You”. She just looked at me and I
said that it was a short story that was true and was a love story. She laughed
and said that I shouldn’t try to have it published. Our evening of TV was
watching episodes of Alaska Last Frontier on Dish demand. Thank you God for a
blessed and healthy day.
Gay Dec-15-20

It was a little cooler for
the morning and had to wear a light jacket. Cheri didn’t get up early this
morning. She was still in bed when I left at 6:30 am. I told her she couldn’t
take a shower while I was gone in case she needed help as she does to get out
of the shower. I left for my Tuesday morning breakfast and Bible study. We
studied Acts chapter three. When I got home I found that Cheri had washed
dishes. After I changed I headed for work on the kitchen. I got the rest of the
first coat of plaster on the ceiling. They also had trouble with their thermoset.
I thought I had an old one and came home to check and found Cheri vacuuming the
floors. I was late getting home and Cheri had started fixing a new recipe
called “Potato Kielbasa Skillet” for supper. She also did more walking with the
cane. So today was a big improvement from yesterday. I hope she didn’t overdo
it and not able to sleep tonight. This evening we watched All Rise, Bull, and a
couple of home improvement shows. Miss our NBC shows as they are still not
available on Dish. Thank you God for Cheri’s improvement and helping us through
this day.
Gay Dec-14-20

I was able to do my
morning walk without a jacket as it was warm. Three or four days ago it was
like 34 degrees and this morning it was 64 degrees. I took Cheri for her 9:00
am PT appointment. Not sure what all she had to do today but when we got home
she wanted the ice machine put on. At 10:30 am I headed over to work on the
kitchen project. I worked on plastering the ceiling holes I had plugged. I quit
at 3:00 pm as I just couldn’t force myself to do anymore. I am over half done
with the first coat of plaster. After I got cleaned up I headed over to Lowes
as I needed another pail of plaster. For supper I fixed the last of the chicken
and dumplings which were still very good. This evening we watched more of Gold
Rush, NCIS LA, NCIS New Orleans, and a home improvement show. Thank you God for
helping us through this day and keeping the virus away.
Gay Dec-13-20

I only needed a light
jacket this morning for my walk. After helping Cheri with her shower I got
things ready for breakfast. After Cheri and I had breakfast together Cheri did exercises
and walking. I did some computer work. Also watched the rest of the Badger
football game. At 10:00 am we streamed the church service. We didn’t have a
choir today as one of the members tested positive for the virus, so they are
all being quarantined. We did have a young man play guitar and sing along with
the piano player. Pastor Randy’s message was from 2 Peter 3:17-18. Our Sunday
school lesson was from Luke 1:26-38. God involves humanity in the redemptive
plan of His creation. After Sunday school I fixed the usual Sunday pizza. The
rest of the afternoon was napping and watching some Christmas movies. This
evening I fixed us a couple of English muffins with peanut butter. We watched Dateline,
First 48 Hours, and Gold Rush. Thank you God for this day that you blessed us
with.
Gay Dec-12-20

After my morning walk with
Dennis I helped Cheri with her shower and wrote the blog. Being it was Saturday
I headed to the Hole in One donut shop for the breakfast sandwich and cinnamon rolls.
After I got Cheri settled in her recliner and hooked up to the ice machine I
went to work on the kitchen project. I worked on getting the rest of the
ceiling holes plugged. I was done with that by noon. After lunch I went back
and did some electrical work on installing a wireless three way switch. Well
one of the switches wouldn’t work with the transmit module I had. When I got
home I ordered a new three way wireless switch. After my shower I settled in to
watch some of the Wisconsin Badger football game. I watched it until half time
and then went to the grocery store to get a couple of pies to take to our
Sunday school Christmas party. It was the first outing for Cheri since her
surgery on Oct 16th. She made
out pretty good and enjoyed the outing to see everyone. When we got back in our
park we rode around and checked out all the Christmas lights. When we got back to
the house we called it a night and watched a little TV in bed. Thank you God
for getting us through the day and time spent with our church friends.
Gay Dec-11-20

Normal morning with walk,
blog, and breakfast with Cheri. We left the house at 8:40 am heading downtown
for Cheri’s PT. The therapist had her doing different exercises today. She even
had her walk with a cane and told her to try and walk at home with the cane.
She did pretty good but a lot slower as she isn’t that sure of her balance. I
did a load of laundry this morning and planned on going to work on the kitchen
project but got lazy and couldn’t force myself to go. I ended up in the
recliner all afternoon reading and napping. We had more of the chicken and
dumplings for supper and have enough for another meal. This evening we watched
some home improvement shows, All Rise, and the rest of Expedition X that we had
started watching last night. Thank you God for guiding us through this day.
Gay Dec-10-20

I did my morning walk
which was still on the cold side. I helped Cheri with her shower and then
started a load of laundry. After breakfast I got Cheri hooked up with her leg
wraps and the ice machine. Then got the first load of laundry into the dryer
and started another load in the washer. I headed over to Lowes to get two
sheets of drywall to use in the patching of the ceiling at the kitchen project.
When I got home from Lowes I got another load of laundry going. Then went to
work on the kitchen project. I worked until noon then came home to fix lunch
for us and then back to work. I was done for the day at 3:30 pm and got over
half the holes in the ceiling patched. I folded laundry and headed for the
shower. This afternoon Cheri worked in the kitchen and made chicken and dumplings
for supper. She said that it was more than she should have done as she was up
on her feet for too long of a time and was really hurting her knee. I rested a
bit after my shower before dishing up the chicken and dumplings for us. This evening
we watched Seal Team, SWAT, FBI, and Expedition X before calling it a night.
Thank you God for a blessed day.
Gay Dec-9-20

It was a cold 34 degree
walk this morning. We left the house at 8:10 am for Cheri’s doctor appointment
with the infections disease doctor. She wants Cheri on the meds for four more
weeks. From there we went to Cheri’s PT but had to wait a half hour in the car
before it was time to go in. After that we stopped at the pharmacy to pick up
Cheri’s meds. When we got home I got Cheri hooked up with the leg wraps and an
ice pack for her. Then I headed out to the grocery store as there were many
things we needed. It was noon when I got home. After putting the groceries away
I fixed us lunch. Then I headed out to Dade City to have the oil changed in the
truck which I wait for and took over two hours. They told me that I have
another oil leak and this time I got to go in the service area to see it. It
wasn’t a real leak but was doing some weeping. So they put some dye in the oil
to see where it is coming from. I will check it in a few weeks to see where it
is coming from. I got a call from a lady here in the park and told me to stop
at her place on the way home as she had made soup for us to have for supper. After
supper I crashed in the recliner to relax. I didn’t see much TV as I napped
most of the evening before calling it a night. Cheri was hurting after the PT
and kept her leg elevated with ice most of the day. Thank you God for a productive day. Thank you
for getting us through another day and keeping us healthy.
Gay Dec-8-20

Cold walk this morning with 45 degrees. Cheri was in and out of the shower before I left at 6:30 am heading to Dade City for my accountability breakfast and Bible study. We finished Acts chapter two this morning. It was around 9:00 am when I got home. Cheri continues to make a little more progress each day but still using the walker. I headed next door to work on the kitchen. I moved wiring for a light switch to a new wall. I did insulating of the holes in the ceiling and also worked on getting the holes squared up so I can patch them. I still have one to square up and then I will be ready to patch the holes with new drywall. I really had to force myself to work today as I was tired and it wasn’t something I really wanted to do today. I did take a break at noon to come home and fix us our lunch. We had chicken and mashed potatoes for supper along with a couple of M&M cookies. This evening Donna Perkins and her daughter Kathy came over for a visit. Nice to see them as Kathy leaves in the morning to head back north. We did watch a couple of episodes Yukon Men before calling it a night. Thank you God for a productive day.
Gay Dec-7-20

No walk this morning had we
a misty rainy day. I took Cheri for her 9:00 am PT appointment. The therapist
was pleased with how much movement she has with her knee. She has to go back
two more times this week and then three times next week. After that they will reassess
her to see if she will need more PT. I worked most of the day getting the
kitchen cabinets figured out and took the layout over to the client to see if
it was ok. She was happy so headed back home to place the order. This was all
something that she was supposed to do but turned out to be more than she could
handle. I was exhausted when I got done and was ready to relax the rest of the
day. Managed to do a little reading and napped while trying to watch some TV. Dick
and Linda brought us a hot rotisserie chicken and a box of cookies. So we had a
hot meal for lunch. We had the last of the baked spaghetti for supper. Tomorrow
we will have chicken along with whatever I can find to go with it. This evening
we watched Dateline and NCIS LA before calling it a night. Thank you God for
taking care of us and keeping healthy.

Our day started out like
other days. I got my morning walk done, helped Cheri in and out of the shower,
and wrote the blog. Cheri and I had breakfast together this morning and enjoyed
coffee while watching the news. At 10:00 am we streamed the church service.
Pastor Randy’s message today was from 2 Peter 3:10-13. After church we streamed
the Sunday school lesson. Our lesson today was from Luke 1:13-25. God’s
promises point to His redemptive plan for His creation. It was 12:30 pm when
Sunday school was over. I fixed our usual Sunday Pizza for lunch and just an
English muffin for supper. I worked all afternoon on pricing out two different
models of kitchen cabinets for the kitchen project. It was after 5:00 pm when I
quit and still didn’t get done. Doing two different lay outs takes a lot of
time to get it correct. Cheri watched some Christmas shows while I worked on
the cabinets. Later we watched the Packer football game and home remodeling
shows. Thank you God for a bless day spending more time with you.

After my morning walk, writing
the blog, and helping Cheri with the shower I made the trip to Hole in One
donut shop to get the Saturday morning breakfast sandwich and cinnamon rolls.
We sat at the kitchen table watching the news while having our breakfast with
coffee. I got Cheri into her recliner and hooked up to the ice machine and leg
wraps. Then I made a trip to Lowes to pick up some things I needed for the kitchen
project. When I got home unhooked Cheri from the ice machine so she could get
around while I was at work on the kitchen project. She continued doing
exercises for her knee. Today I cut the holes in the ceiling, run the new
wiring, and got all five lights installed. It was a good day and everything
went well. Yes I took a break at noon to fix lunch for us. I was done work for
the day at 3:00 pm. After getting cleaned up I headed to the recliner to relax
a bit before fixing dinner. Well time slipped away because I fell asleep for an
hour before I started dinner. We had more of the leftover baked spaghetti with homemade
bread toasted. We watched the Badger football game, Blue Bloods, and Gold Rush
before calling it a night. Thank you God for a productive day and keeping us
healthy.

Normal morning walk and
much warmer. Cheri was up and in the shower and was about ready for me to help
her get out of the shower. She is able to get in by herself but has to have
help to get up and out. I stripped the bed and got into the washer. In fact the
bedding was done and back on the bed before 7:30 am. Once again we had
breakfast together at the kitchen table. When Cheri got to the recliner I got
the leg wraps on and the ice machine hooked up. I disconnected it before I left
for work as she can’t get up when it is connected to her. Cheri continued
walking with the walker and doing a few things around the house. I worked on
removing a half wall, more electrical work, and spotting the can lights. I am
not looking forward to cutting the holes in the ceiling because of all the
loose insulation that will fall down, makes a dirty dusty mess. I did come home
at noon to get our lunch and Cheri meds for her. Then it was back to work until
3:00 pm. I was ready for a hot shower to get cleaned up. After that I headed
out to install a new doorbell for a party here in the park. I was back home by
5:00 pm and started getting dinner, had more of the baked spaghetti along with
an English muffin with garlic butter. This evening we watched some home improvement
shows and the two hour fall premier of Seal Team. Thank you God for a blessed
day.

It was a little warmer for the walk this morning. Cheri was up when I got back from my walk and needed help to get out of the shower. After she got cleaned up we had breakfast together at the kitchen table. The nurse came around 11:00 am. I didn’t get a chance to talk to her as I was at work on the kitchen project. I did come home at noon to fix our lunch and to start another load of laundry. I had a good day at work and got more of the electrical wiring rerun, big job trying rewire where the wires are too short. I have one more wall switch to move to a different wall and then it will be time to install the new can lights. That is going to be a big job as there is loose insulation above the ceiling and no openings in the rafters to run the wires. I was done earlier today as it was too late to remove the wall section. Cheri was doing more walking today and even did some ironing, took clothes out of the washing machine and put them in the dryer. She even folded then laundry. She also placed a few things around the house to make it look a little like Christmas. Doing all of this while using the walker. Dennis (the guy I walk with) and his wife Susanne brought over baked spaghetti with homemade bread right out of the oven hot and ready to eat. It was excellent. It was a normal evening with the TV. Not happy that Dish and the other companies can’t come to terms as now we lost NBC network until they get things settled. Of course we are the ones that will suffer as we don’t have it now and when we do it will cost us more. Thank you God for a productive day and keeping us healthy.

It was 30 degrees colder
this morning than yesterday morning for the walk. It was 64 yesterday and 34 this
morning, hard to believe that much difference in 24 hours. The high for the day
was only 63 degrees. When I got back from my walk Cheri was ready for me help
her get into the shower. She sat at the kitchen table for breakfast and her
medicine. First time that has happened since she had her surgery. I left the house
at 7:30 am to take the car to Wesley Chapel for oil change service. On the way
back home I took the car through the car wash as it was pretty dirty. When I got
home I checked on Cheri and then went to Wal-Mart for groceries and many other
things that we needed. It was noon when I got home. After getting things put
away I fixed our lunch. With that over it was time to leave for my eye
appointment at the VA in Tampa. I got the stiches out and got a good report from
the doctor. I will have to go back in five week for a final checkup. I still
have a little black and blue from the surgery. After I got home I took the
truck though the car wash as it was as dirty at the car. Nice to have them both
clean. I was wondering what I was going to fix for supper when Cheri told me
that Mike and Pam where bring over soup and pie for our supper. Thanks Mike and
Pam the timing was great as I wasn’t sure what I was going to fix. The soup was
really good and to have on cold night, then the pie and cheese to top it off.
Thank you. It was a normal evening of TV with me napping through most of the shows.
Thank you God for the good health reports and safe travels.

It was 30 degrees colder
this morning for the morning walk. Cheri was up early and wanted me to help her
get into the shower. Which really made her feel better. She was tired of the sponge
bath. Today was the first day that she didn’t have to have any bandage on her
knee. I left the house at 6:45 am heading to Dade City for my accountability
group breakfast and Bible Study. When I got home Cheri was doing some walking
and doing her exercises. I went next door to work on the kitchen project. Came
home at noon to fix Cheri and my lunch. After getting Cheri settled in her
recliner I went back to work. I was done for the day at 3:30 pm. I took a
shower and got cleaned up and then started supper. I had fixed a frozen bag
dinner before and it wasn’t very good and still had half the bag left, so this
time after I cooked it and added some Alfredo sauce which made it a lot better.
This evening we watched fall shows we recorded. Thank you God for taking care
of us today and time spent with my accountability group.

After my morning walk I
got Cheri her breakfast. After she got herself cleaned up I helped her get
dressed. She walked some before getting to her recliner. I helped her with her
meds and then it was time for me to get cleaned up for the day. I left the
house at 9:00 am and went to Lowes to pick up a few things I needed for the
kitchen work today. I was back home to check on Cheri before going to work at
10:00 am. I came home at noon and got our lunch ready and then took a shower to
clean up and get ready to take Cheri for her 2:30 pm doctor appointment in
Brandon. I always leave early because you never know what the traffic is going
to be like. Well it wasn’t bad and was there a half hour early. Because of all
the new cases of the COVID I wasn’t able to see the doctor with Cheri. She got
the stiches removed and no bleeding. Her knee looks good for all she has been
through. The doctor was pleased with all the movement she has. She will start
PT next week, wants to make sure it healed well before starting. On the way
home we stopped to fill the car with gas and then over to Jersey Mikes for a
sub to have for supper. We both fell asleep in our recliners while trying to
watch some TV and decide to go to bed early as we were both exhausted. Thank
you God for a blessed day with safe travels and a good report from the doctor.
Gay Nov-29-20

It was a nice morning for
my walk with Dennis. It amazes me with the things he comes up with to talk
about, learn something new each day. Cheri was awake and ready for her
breakfast at 6:00 am. After breakfast she continued getting herself ready for
the day. After I got ready for the day it was time to stream the church
service, will be happy when we can actually attend church again. We tried to stream the Sunday school class but
couldn’t get it today, don’t know if it was something we did or Charlie could
get it on Facebook. So we were able to have our Sunday pizza at noon. This
afternoon I went to see one of the people I do work for and wants me to order a
new door bell and has a list of minor things she wants me to do. Then I went to
Rural King to get a new battery for the truck as it finally gave up. They didn’t
have one for our tuck and went to Wal-Mart where I did find one. After I got
that installed it was time to settle in the recliner. Cheri continues to do
more walking in the house, gaining a little more strength each day. We watched
Dateline, a couple of home improvement shows, and then settled in to watch the
Green Bay Packers and was able to stay awake for the whole game which they won.
Thank you God for a blessed day and able to stream the church service.
Gay Nov-28-20

Cheri was awake when I got
home from my morning walk 5:40 am. I fixed her a bowl of a banana with milk. Because
I told her I was going to go to the Hole in One donut shop for her usual Saturday
breakfast. Well when I got there it was closed for the holiday weekend. So I
went over to BK and got a couple of breakfast sandwiches. I guess we will be
going through withdraw without our cinnamon rolls. Cheri didn’t have to have
the IV drip which helped make her feel better. So I was able to get away to go
and work on the kitchen project next door. I was doing electrical work today
and things didn’t go as planned. You never know how things will go when doing a
remodel. I was home at noon to fix Cheri’s and my lunch. Then it was back to
work this afternoon. I got home around 4:00 pm. After showering and getting
cleaned up I fixed the rest of the roast beef for supper. Cheri did more
walking today and asked me to get out the container that she keeps all the
Thanksgiving stuff in. She had me put it on the dining room table where she
could set and pack everything away. It was a normal evening of TV. Thank you
God for a blessed day.
Gay Nov-27-20

When I got back from my
morning walk Cheri was already up and in the bathroom. The nurse was scheduled to
come between 8:30 and 9:00 am. At 8:00 am Cheri called the pharmacy and they never
did get the scrip from the doctor. So Cheri called the doctor’s office and is
closed for the holiday. When the nurse came we told her about not getting the
scrip. She got on the phone and got ahold of the on call doctor. Well around 10:30
am we got a call from the doctor saying she called in the scrip and nothing
about why it wasn’t done on Wednesday. A little while later got a call from the
pharmacy that her medication was ready to be picked up. Some good news as the
nurse unwrapped Cheri’s leg there wasn’t any blood, first time since the
surgery back on Oct. 16th. I had already started the IV drip but
happy that it was going to be the last one. I did a load of laundry and that
was about it for the day. Other than going out to pick up the medication for
Cheri. The afternoon and evening was napping and watching TV. I did fix more of
the roast beef that Ron and Sandy brought over and will have enough for one
more meal. Also this afternoon I went to get something out of the crisper drawer
in refrigerator and it wouldn’t come open, just like it is locked. Looks like I
am going to do some dismantling to fix it and not in the mood to work on it
today. Thank you God for giving Cheri a better day.
Gay Nov-26-20

Happy Thanks Giving to
all. I did the morning walk with Dennis and was a little cooler but nice no
wind. Right now every morning is the same routine, Cheri getting up, doing her sponge
bath, me getting her breakfast, getting her meds and IV drip ready, and getting
her attached to the IV. I am usually done with this by 10:30 am. Then it is
time for me to get cleaned up and ready for the day. Cheri is usually done with
the IV somewhere between noon and 1:30 pm. Then it is time to get us a lunch.
Today I did do a load of laundry. Lunch was different today as about the time I
was getting ready to fix it we got a call from Jean and said that she would bring
over green bean casserole, chicken, and cranberries. So we had a big lunch and
just an English muffin for supper. Cheri had more pain in her knee today, think
it was because it was wrapped different from the doctor yesterday. I tried to
do some reading this afternoon but found that napping worked better. Cheri
watched a couple of movies this afternoon. Later after I was awake we watched
some fall shows and some home improvement shows. Darren called us a couple of
days ago, today got a text from Kari, and a phone call from Nikki. Thank you
God for a blessed day and help us with some healing power.
Gay Nov-25-20

It was a little cooler
walking this morning which was nice. I helped Cheri get ready for her IV drip
earlier today because she had a doctor’s appointment at 1:45 pm. by starting
early she was done by noon. After I got done with the IV drip I went down to
the club house to pick up our Thanksgiving dinner. We had turkey, green bean casserole,
mashed potatoes, dressing, sweet potato, roll, and gravy plus apple pie for
dessert. All for six dollars per person. So I heated everything up and had our
dinner today. By the time we were done it was time to head out for Cheri’s
appointment. Cheri still has one spot that is bleeding and has to go back on
Monday to have the stiches removed. They checked on the blood culture and it
was clear so they called the infections disease doctor and they said that she
could stop doing the IV drip and take antibiotics pill and disease doctor
called it in to our pharmacy. So on the way home we stopped at the pharmacy to
see how late they were open and are closed on Thanks Giving day. I checked to
see how long it would be and they said that they hadn’t received anything from
the doctor. So the pharmacy called the doctor and told them to put a rush on
it. Then the pharmacy said that they would call us when they heard something.
Well they close at 8:00 pm and didn’t hear anything which probably means they
didn’t get anything from the doctor. We weren’t happy because now Cheri will
have to do the IV drip again tomorrow. It was a depressing end to the day.
Thank you God for taking care of us today.
Gay Nov-24-20

I managed to get my
morning walk done. I got Cheri’s breakfast ready for her and was dressed and
ready to leave the house at 6:45 am for my Tuesday morning breakfast and Bible
study. Today we finished the first chapter of Acts. When I got home I got Cheri’s
medications rounded up and got ready to do the IV drip. I also got the laundry
going and did two loads. After lunch I sat down and called about signing up for
a new Medicare part D plan. I had trouble finding the web site so called and
got someone that spoke English with a heavy accent and wasn’t able to
understand him. I had the same thing happen a few days ago when I tried to sign
up. I finally gave up and headed to the pharmacy where I got the plan that we
should sign up for and asked them if they could do it for me. Well in a short
time they had Cheri and I signed up. They knew how to get to the right web
site. When I got home I headed to the recliner with an ice pack for my eyes,
they seem to feel some better today but look really bad. We had left over roast
beef with carrots, potatoes, and gravy that Ron and Sandy brought over for
supper. Also had a piece of pumpkin pie that Dick and Linda brought over. We
watched some new fall shows before calling it a night. Thank you God for
helping us through this day.
Gay Nov-23-20

The nurse came at9:30 am
to draw blood and replace the bandage on her arm coving the pick line. Before
the nurse left the physical therapist came. He put her through her PT and
checked the movement of her knee and she is now able to bend to 95 degrees and
back to almost 0 degrees. He was pleased with the progress she is making. She
is doing a little more walking each day with the walker. So with the nurse and
therapist it was later before I could get the IV drip started. I was able to
take a shower this morning and got all the tape off around my eyes. I am still
having some pain and did several ice packs throughout the day. I fixed Cheri
tomato soup, crackers, and cheese for lunch which is the same thing she has had
for several days. Later in the afternoon I made a trip to the grocery store for
ice and groceries. I was only back home for a short time when Dick and Linda
stopped by for a visit. It made Cheri feel better as she hasn’t had any
visitors. They stayed about an hour and had a good visit. We had leftovers for
supper and then settled in for a normal evening of TV watching the new fall
shows. Thank you God for the healing improvement that you have given Cheri and
healing my eyes.
Gay Nov-22-20

I had to force myself
again to do my morning walk. I felt miserable all day with some pain around my
eyes. So I didn’t do a very good job taking care of Cheri today. I got her
breakfast early and then I went to the recliner and put ice pack on my eyes
which helped make them feel better. After I got Cheri settled in her recliner I
got her IV drip started, leg wraps on, and ice machine going. Then it was time
to stream the church service which worked well because I could keep ice packs
on my eyes. I also did the same while the Sunday school lesson was going. Cheri’s
IV drip took a lot longer to do and didn’t get done until after 1:00 pm. I
fixed us the usual Sunday pizza for a late lunch. Just an English muffin with
peanut butter for our supper. I watched the Green Bay Packers playing the Colts
and they lost, pretty much beat themselves. Cheri did more walking today. I had trouble sleeping tonight so
got up and went to the recliner and watched a little more TV before turning it
off and spent the night in the recliner. Thank you God for getting us through
this day.
Gay Nov-21-20

I didn’t think I would be
able to walk this morning but I forced myself to go. If it wasn’t for meeting
Dennis on the walk I probably wouldn’t done it. The daily thing was getting
Cheri up for breakfast and then she got herself cleaned up before getting to
the recliner. After my breakfast and coffee I sat with ice on my eyes for a
couple of hours. Then it was time to get Cheri’s IV going. By the time I got it
started it was almost lunch time. After lunch I sat with ice on my eyes again.
It makes them feel better. Dennis (my walking partner) and his wife Sue Ann
brought over a casserole for our supper. It was very good and have enough for
another meal and still have leftover roast beef that Ron and Sandy brought
over. So we will be eating well for a few days. I didn’t feel that good today
and then watching the Wisconsin Badgers get beat didn’t help my day. Thank you
God for good friends helping us through this day.
Gay Nov-20-20

I didn’t get to do my
morning walk as I left the house at 4:50 am. Bill Mc Cafferty (church friend)
picked me up to take me down to the Tampa VA for my eye surgery. He came back
and picked me up at 1:30 pm. I had everything laid out for the nurse when she
came to give Cheri the IV drip. Cheri called Jean to come over after the nurse
left in case she needed help. I wasn’t feeling very good when I got home. I
took a pain pill and covered my eye with an ice pack. Ron and Sandy came over
with roast beef, carrots, potatoes, and rolls for us to have for supper. I wasn’t
feeling very good from the pain pill so Ron and Sandy served us the meal before
they left. I was hungry and thought I would feel better after I ate but that
wasn’t case. I felt really bad and slept in the chair until it was time to get
Cheri and myself into bed. Thank you God for getting us through this day and
the help of friends. Thank you Ron and Sandy for the food.

Today was pretty much the
same as yesterday. I did my morning walk, helped Cheri get around this morning.
She is doing better and is able to do more for herself now. She continues to
walk in the house with the walker and do her exercises. The nurse came at 11:00
am to draw blood. I couldn’t do the IV drip until after she had the blood draw.
During the day at different times she had the leg wraps on and the ice machine.
This afternoon Pastor Randy came to see her and prayed with us. We had a nice
visit with him. It is so good to have a church family to help support us
through the times when we need it. For supper I went out Culvers to get Cheri
the ocean cod dinner which we spilt as it is a big meal. It was a normal
evening of watching the fall shows along with some napping. Thank you God for a
blessed day and giving us guidance.
Gay Nov-18-20

I managed to get my walk
in this morning and then getting Cheri breakfast and her meds. I left the
house at 6:30 am heading to Tampa VA for a Covid test and preop for bleed
test and an EKG. I am having eye surgery on Friday, having my eye lids and eye
brows lifted. I got home at 9:00 am, just in time to get Cheri into her
recliner and get things ready for her daily IV drip. The therapist came at
11:00 am and helped her with some PT. Cheri had another good day with walking
and more flexibility with her knee. The IV drip makes her very sleepy and
sleeps most all of the afternoon. Once again Cheri wanted cream of tomato soup and
crackers for lunch. I tried to do some reading this afternoon but did more
napping then reading. I manage to get out for a haircut late this afternoon.
Mike and Pam brought over vegetable soup, cornbread, and ice cream drumsticks
for us. Nothing like a good bowl of hot soup and warm buttered cornbread. We were
going to have the ice cream but was too full of soup. Thank you Mike and Pam
for bringing us food. We tried to watch TV this evening but turned out to be
more napping than watching. Thank you God for getting us through another day
and continue giving Cheri a healing power.

Sorry that this is late
but due to an early VA appointment I didn’t have time to do it before I left.
I was able to get my walk
in this morning. I had to have a jacket as the temp was 54 degrees. I always
get back around 5:40 am and again this morning Cheri was waiting for me to get
her cereal and banana for breakfast. By the time I got her to the recliner and
getting her hooked to the IV it was after 10:00 am and the IV took until 12:30
pm before it was done. Cheri was sleeping and had hard time to get her woke up
so I could unhook the IV. I also got the ice machine going and the wraps on her
legs. I fixed her cream of tomato soup for lunch. I had a sandwich with chips.
I was able to rest some this afternoon and do some reading in book number six
of the Left Behind series. Cheri walked in the house two different time and did
really good. I fixed a frozen bag meal (Garlic Shrimp--pasta in a garlic sauce
with shrimp, broccoli, carrots, and corn) not very good and no flavor. We
managed to watch some more of the fall season shows, must of them all about the
virus and am already tired of hearing about the virus. Thank you God for giving
Cheri some improvement on her knee.
Gay Nov-16-20

I no longer know what is
normal any more. I did get to do my morning walk but the rest of the day is
different now. I got all the meds and equipment laid out for Cheri’s IV meds. Cheri’s
nurse came at 9:45 am to do a blood draw and to watch me to make sure I was
doing the IV meds correctly. I got the IV meds started at 10:15 am and didn’t
get done with the IV drip until 1:00 pm. While the IV drip was going the therapist
came to help her do some knee exercises. I had started a load of laundry early
this morning and just got the bed made around 1:30 pm. Then I headed out to the
grocery store to pick up a few things we needed. I fixed a ham and noddle casserole
that Cheri had made and put in the freezer before her knee surgery for supper. We
tried to watch some new fall TV shows but neither of could stay awake and
decided to go to bed and watch some there. Thank you God for getting us through
this day.
Gay Nov-15-20

At 8:30 am they delivered
Cheri’s medicine for the next seven days, two big boxes. It had to be unpacked
and refrigerated. The nurse came at 9:00 am to show me how to set things up and
how to do the IV drip. Cheri has two medicines that go through the pick line. One
takes about five minutes and the other one takes at least two hours. It is
quite the processes and the nurse will be back tomorrow to watch me and make
sure I do it right. So it was 1:00 pm before we were done with the IV for the
day. I tried to watch the rest of the Wisconsin Badger football game and had
trouble staying awake. So when I wasn’t taking care of Cheri I spent most of my
time napping. We did have pizza for a late lunch and then this evening it was
English muffins with peanut butter. We did watch some of the new fall shows
this evening which I miss most of by napping. Thank you God for sending us a
really good nurse and helping us through this day. We didn’t watch the church
service today as I know I could stay awake for it. They had problems and couldn’t
get the Sunday school lesson on Facebook.
Gay Nov-14-20

I didn’t have a very good
night, think it was because Cheri wasn’t here with me. I did do my morning walk
and quiet time with God. I took my time getting around because I couldn’t get
into the hospital until after 9:00 am. On the way to the hospital I stopped at
Hole in One donut shop and picked up a cinnamon roll for Cheri. It was a long
day in the hospital. Cheri didn’t have a good nurse today, did seem like he
knew what he was doing. The doctor came in early and said that she could go
home after she got a pick line in her arm to have the IV antibiotics at home.
Well it was 3:30 pm before they came and got her for the pick line and was back
in her room at 4:00 pm. She was told then that when the paper work was done she
could leave and go home. Well we wait over two and a half hours for the paper
work which only took ten minutes the last time we were there (not a happy
camper). It was near 7:30 pm when we got home. We were both exhausted and Cheri
went right to bed. I fixed myself a sandwich and tried to watch the Wisconsin
Badger football game but couldn’t stay awake to watch all of it. Maybe tomorrow
I can finish watching it. Thank you God for Cheri being able to come home and
giving us guidance.
Gay Nov-13-20

I did my morning walk and
the blog for yesterday. I helped Cheri get around and ready to leave at 10:20
am. We got a call from the hospital and wanted to know if we could come earlier
and told them we were already on our way. Before for any surgery prep the
doctor came and check her out and said she would have to go back into surgery
to have the knee cleaned out and thought that she may have an infection. It was
1:30 pm when they took her in for surgery. I didn’t get to see her again until
she was in a room around 5:30 pm. The doctor has put her on an IV antibiotics
drip and said that they would put in a port to receive an antibiotics drip at
home for six weeks. She should be able to come home on Sunday. It has been
almost four weeks since she had the surgery and once again will have to start
over with therapy and PT. She is depress and needs prayers to help her through
this. It was after 7:30 pm when I got home. Thank you God for helping us
through this day and guiding the doctor to take care of her.
Gay Nov-12-20

No walk again this morning
because of leftover rain from the hurricane. It was a busy day. Cheri was up
early again want something to eat at 5:00 am. So I fixed her the usual cereal
with a banana. I got her into her recliner and hooked up to the ice machine and
leg wraps. I did three loads for laundry, sweep the floors, moped the floors, and
unloaded the dishwasher. During all of this I got Cheri in the car and took her
for her 11:45 am PT appointment. The lady that took care of her wasn’t happy
that she still had some bleeding. She said that she was going to call the
doctor and see what he had to say about it. After I got Cheri home I made a
trip to Lowe’s to pick up electrical materials for the kitchen project and make
a stop at the grocery store for ice and a few other things we needed. When I got
home Cheri got a call from the hospital. She will be going back to the surgery
center tomorrow to have the doctor check the bleeding. He may have to go in and
clean out the area where it is bleeding and wanted her at the hospital so it
could be done tomorrow. The bleeding has been the problem all along and has
been off the blood thinners for two weeks which isn’t good because she needs
them for her heart. I fixed leftover casserole for supper. It was after 6:00 pm
before I was done for the day. We watched the three Chicago shows, nice that
the new season has started. Thank you God for being with us today and praying
for a good day with the doctor tomorrow.

It is Veterans Day and I
pray that you reached out and thanked a Veteran today. In fact we should thank
one every day because without them we wouldn’t be free to do the things we do. Cheri
continues to be up when I get back from my morning walk. She is always very hungry
when she wakes up, ready for a bowl of cereal with a banana. Cheri’s knee is
still weeping blood but was able to take a shower for the first time since she
had surgery, which made her feel better. I re bandaged her knee, praying that
the blood will clot and no more bleeding. I left the house at 10:00 am for an
appointment in Tampa that the VA to have an MRI on my shoulder as I have been
having a lot of pain. It was near 1:00 pm when I got home. After a late lunch I
crashed in the recliner to relax for a while, which included a nap. I planned
on doing some work this afternoon but just didn’t have the energy to do anything,
maybe it was because of all the rain. Skip and Joy sent over a casserole which
we had for supper which was very good. It was a normal evening of TV watching whatever
we could find that was worth watching. I will be glad to have the new fall
season shows back. The storm hit us around midnight with strong winds and rain
but by 1:00 am the wind was gone and just rain. I will check in the morning to
see if we had any damage. Thank you God for guiding us through this day.

Normal walk this morning, thought
there would be rain but none until this evening. Cheri was up really early
again this morning and got her situated in her recliner before I left at 6:45
am heading to Dade City for my accountability breakfast and Bible study. I had mentioned
to the group that I needed to get a shower chair for Cheri. Well Skip said that
they had one that we could use. So on the way home I picked it up but found that
is too big for our shower, good to know because I might have ordered one that
was too big. When I got home Cheri’s knee was bleeding from taking out the
staples yesterday and had to change the bandage and rewrap her knee. When I
went to make the bed I saw blood on the sheets so did some laundry to get that
cleaned up. I did go next door to do a little work on the kitchen project
mainly tracing out the electrical that has to be moved and trying to figure out
what size cabinets to order but they keep changing their mine on what they
want. I got Cheri into the leg machine a couple times today as well the ice
machine and leg wraps. She got a call today telling her she will start the PT
Thursday at 11:45 am. For Supper we had the last of the bean soup and vegetable
soup that Ron and Sandy brought over. We
watched NCIS, the first show that they did back in 2003, strange to see how
they have changed over the years but guess we all look different than we did in
2003. We also watched some other home improvement shows. Thank you God for
getting us through another day and time spent with the accountability group.

My morning walk was cut
short as it started to rain shortly after leaving the house so I only made it
around two blocks. Cheri was up early again this morning and got her a bowl of cereal
with a banana which she had before 6:00 am. By 6:30 am she was in her leg
machine while I got shaved and got cleaned up. After that she went to the
recliner where I got her hooked up to the ice machine and leg wraps. The therapist
came at 10:00 am and said that she had more movement in her knee today. We left
the house at 12:45 pm heading to Brandon for her 2:00 pm doctor’s appointment.
She had the staples removed today (31 of them). She still has one spot that is weeping
blood and put on a bandage and wrapped it. Tomorrow or the next day she will be
going for rehab, just waiting for the call from them to let her know the days
and times. A lady here in our park called and said that her shed door keeps
coming open and it is locked. Wants me to check it out so between the rain
showers this afternoon I went and did a temporary fix on it has I will need
more time to fix it correctly. I heated up bean soup that Ron and Sandy brought
over for us along with some cornbread. By the time all was said and done it was
6:30 pm before watching some TV shows. We watch a new episode of NCIS New Orleans
that we had recorded but because of the election things it started late and
didn’t have all of the show. We also watched some Flip and Flop before calling
it a night. Thank you God for safe travels today and Cheri getting a good
report on her knee. Please pray for a speedy recovery.

It was a busy day for me. I did my morning walk and got home at 5:40 am. Cheri was up and said that she was really hungry so I got her a bowl of cereal. Then I did the blog for the happing’s of yesterday. Then I got Cheri into her leg machine for half an hour while I shaved and got cleaned up. Then I got Cheri into her recliner and hooked up with leg wraps and the ice machine. After my breakfast and coffee I called in a prescript of meds Cheri needed. Then headed to the grocery store for ice and groceries. When I got home I put the groceries away and yes I got the ice out of the car into the freezer. I had a few minutes to get the church service set up to watch. By the time church and Sunday school was over it was 12:30 pm. When that was over I put the pizza in the oven and got things ready for lunch. After lunch we got a call that Cheri’s meds were ready to pick up. So I headed out to get them and a stop at Lowe’s for light bulbs and salt for the water softener. When I got home I filled the water softener and replaced the burned out light bulb. Then I joined Cheri who was watching a home improvement show. I tried to read but couldn’t stay awake. After a short nap I settled in to watch the NASCAR race. Cheri watched some before napping. After the race I got Cheri back into the leg machine. Fixed us an English muffin with peanut butter along with some apple sauce for Cheri and a fruit cup for me. Then we settled in to watch some shows we had recorded. Thank you God for us being able to attend church and Sunday school without leaving the house.

I did my morning walk and
then got Cheri some early breakfast but only wanted a banana, I said what about
the cereal that goes with it. She said no because you need to go to the Hole in
One donut shop to get the usual Saturday morning breakfast. After I got Cheri
into her leg machine while I was shaving and getting cleaned up. After that she
spent the day in her recliner. At 10:30 am I went over to work on the kitchen
project. I came home at 12:15 pm to get Cheri and my lunch. Then back to work
until 3:30 pm, got about 90 percent of the demo done. I got Cheri back in the
leg machine while I took a shower and got cleaned up. Then got her back to the
recliner. I fixed vegetable soup that Ron and Sandy brought over along with a
cornbread muffin. Later while watching Gold Rush we had a bowl of ice cream. We
were both tired and went to bed earlier than usual. Thank you God for being
with us today and help Cheri continue with her rehab.

Nothing too exciting
today. I spent some extra time with my morning prayers and was almost late
meeting Dennis for our morning walk. I had to walk pretty fast in order to get
to our meeting site. I had Cheri in the leg machine early this morning and so
today she is having more pain in her knee. The therapist came at 11:00 am and
checked her out and having her do some exercises. He was pleased as he could
see more movement in her knee. After lunch I got her all set up for a few hours
so I could go a couple of doors down to start on the kitchen project. So today
was demo day. I worked a while and then came home to check on Cheri and then
back to work. I quit at 3:30 pm and did get most of the wall down for a new
opening into the kitchen along with removing some cabinets. I am hoping to get
most of the demo done tomorrow. I fixed the leftover chili for supper. Ron and
Sandy brought us two containers of vegetable soup and bean soup along with blue
berry muffins, chocolate chip muffins, and cornbread muffins. This evening we
watch more home improvement shows we had recorded. Thank you God for a blessed
day and continue healing Cheri’s knee.

Yesterday I mentioned I
went to the grocery store for ice. Well what do you think happens when you
leave 30 pounds of ice in the car trunk overnight in Florida? Yep that was me.
I came home with the ice and went in the house sorting through the mail and
then checked on Cheri and completely forgot the ice. Cheri called for me before
6:00 am saying she was really hungry. So I fixed her a bowl of cereal with banana
and milk. She was cleaned up and in her recliner by 7:00 am. By 8:30 am I had
her leg wraps on and hooked to the ice machine. Then went out to take care of
the ice. I was surprised to find that about half of it was still ok. One good
thing the trunk had a molded rubber pan installed over the carpet which kept
the water from getting all over the trunk and into the wheel well. Still there
was a lot of things that did get wet, mostly cloth grocery bags. I got Cheri
into the knee machine twice today set at 35 percent. I went and checked out a
shed door for a party here in the park which needs to be sanded and repainted,
which I said I couldn’t do. I did three loads of laundry and also found time
for a couple naps which was supposed to be reading time. This evening I stayed
up to watch the Green Bay Packer’s football game. Thank you God for helping us
through another day.

Nothing much going on
today. I did make a trip to the bank, checked Larry and Denise’s house, and a
stop at the grocery store for ice. The rehab therapist came at 11:00 am and got
Cheri into the knee machine which moves the leg back and forth to strengthen
the muscles around the knee. She was in it for an hour at noon and then again
at 3:30 pm for an hour and a half. Needless to say she is in more pain this
evening. This evening I fixed a tator tot casserole that Pam and Mike brought
over. Cheri watched more movies that was recorded. I tried to read but couldn’t
stay awake. We even forgot to watch the Wednesday night church service. I guess
you could say it was a down day. Thank you God for getting us through this day.

I always leave for my walk
at 4:47 am in order to meet Dennis along the way and get home around 5:40 am.
Well this morning when I got home Cheri was up and washed her hair and gave
herself a sponge bath. The light headiness is pretty much over. Cheri got up
early so I could go for my Tuesday morning accountability group breakfast and
bible study. It was good to get back as I have missed being there. On the way
home I stopped and voted, I figured I would have to wait because when I went
for bible study there was a very long line waiting. Well when I got there the
line was gone and got right in without any waiting. Cheri had a very good day concerning
what she has been through. Cheri talked to the therapist and will be coming
tomorrow, we thought he was coming today. So the rehab will wait another day. I
also had a good day and got all the carport fencing up and everything back
inside, still have to rearrange everything behind the fence. Cheri watched a
few movies she had recorded. After I was done and showered I headed to the
recliner for a while and tried to read but that didn’t last very long as I end
up napping. For supper I fixed the last of the roast beef. We watched several episodes
of Cold Case Files. Thank you God for giving Cheri a better day.
Gay Nov-2-20

Cheri was feeling much
better today and had a good apatite. Although she is still lightheaded, pretty
sure it is the Tylenol. Cheri had a 2:00 pm doctor’s appointment in Wesley
Chapel. The doctor was pleased as it looked much better and the swelling has gone
done some. She will be able to start rehab tomorrow. In my spare time I did
some house work. When I did get a chance to sit down and try to read I would
end up napping. I fixed us leftover roast beef with potatoes, carrots, and
onions for supper. Cheri went to bed early and I stayed up to watch the Buccaneers
football game but only lasted a short time before giving up and going to bed.
Thank you God for a good report on Cheri and now help her with the rehab.
Thanks again for prayers.

Hard to believe another month
has gone. Good news today. Cheri was able to be out of bed and in her recliner.
Still a little light headed and a queasy stomach. She did eat more today but
not ready for our Sunday pizza. We had some homemade beef vegetable soup from a
church friend. It was excellent and had a great flavor. At 10:00 am we stream
the church service. Pastor Randy message was from 2 Peter chapter 2 about False
Teachers and Their Destruction. How we are supposed to live and know the word,
without knowing the word how could we identify the false teachers? At 11:30 we
signed in to Face Book to watch the Sunday school lesson titled “God Acts” from
Isaiah 46:3-13. The one true God is incomparable; He will complete His plan to
save His people. Cheri slept some of the afternoon as I watched the NASCAR
race. For supper I fixed Cheri a bowl of tomato soup and I had an English
muffin with peanut butter. We also watched a couple of home repair shows. Thank
you God for being able to be part of the church service and Sunday school. Please
continue to pray for Cheri to gain strength and remove pain.

Happy Halloween to everyone.
We even had a Halloween golf cart parade go by the house late this afternoon. I
know Cheri is wasn’t feeling good this morning as I said I would go to the Hole
in One donut shop for the breakfast sandwich and cinnamon roll and she said
that she wasn’t ready for that. But she did have a better day eating and more
alert. I even got her to smile a couple of times. Although she is still light
headed and spent the day in bed with the ice machine and leg wraps. I worked
outside again today and got the rest of the fence gates reinstalled all that is
left is a couple sections of fence to install. I had to move the golf cart out
and was surprised that the batteries were still up (good news). I fixed the
rest of the spaghetti for supper for Cheri, it was the only thing that tasted
good to her. I had left over pork chop, mashed potatoes, and gravy. Later I had
a chocolate chip cookies that Mike brought over. Cheri watch TV in the bed room
and I tried to watch some in the living room but did more napping than
watching. Thank you God for helping us through this day and continue helping
Cheri heal.

First I want to wish our
daughter Nikki a happy birthday. I had an 8:00 am appointment to have the new crown
installed. I was back home within the hour. Cheri was still sick and light
headed this morning and lasted all day. I thought she would be better today
because she hasn’t had any pain pills. Only had a couple of Tylenols. Another
couple from church brought us soup, apple sauce, and jello. Cheri did have a
couple cup containers of pudding and eat some spaghetti for supper. So it looks
like maybe her appetite is starting to come back. I worked outside on my
fencing project. I did get the pipe rack rebuilt and all the lumber back in
where is supposed to be. Now have room to get the car all the way under the
carport. I told Cheri if she needed me all she had to do was call me. Only
called me once to let me know friends were bring over some food for us. I kept
Cheri on the ice machine and leg wraps all day. Pray that she has a better day
tomorrow to remove the light headiness and the upset stomach. This evening we
called Nikki to wish her a happy birthday. Cheri didn’t feel like talking but
wanted to let her know we were thinking of her. Thank you God for helping us
through this day.

Dennis and I have our walk
figured out so we meet each other at 5:00 am, I leave the house at 4:47 am. Cheri
is still sick and light headed today. She had a doctor’s appointment at 1:00 pm
here in Zephyrhills. The bleeding has stopped which is good news. The doctor
said that she had a little more movement in her knee. I think she will be able
to start rehab next week although the doctor wants to see her again on Monday
to make sure she is ready for the rehab. I got her home into her recliner and
hooked up to the ice machine and her leg wraps on. I did a couple loads of laundry
this afternoon. The last pain pill Cheri had was this morning a 6:00 am. We are
going try and have her take Tylenol to control the pain. Want to see if getting
off the pain meds will get her over being sick and light headed. I made a trip
to the grocery store to get her some pudding and soup along with more ice.
Cheri slept most of the day except for the time to the doctor. This evening she
did eat some pudding and a little bit of spaghetti and took her evening pills
and a couple Tylenol. I got her into bed around 8:00 pm. I was tired and went
to bed a little after 9:00 pm. Thank you God for stopping the bleeding on Cheri
and helping us through the day.

The only time I was outside
today was for my morning walk. I was going to do some work on the fence today
until I heard the weather report for the day, 90 degrees and high humidity. I
decided I didn’t need to be out in the heat. It was just as well as I was exhausted
all day. Cheri was better today, still a lot of pain and wasn’t sick but still
had an uneasy stomach. Today I gave her Tramadol which I think works better for
her but not as strong as the oxycodone. Cricket bought over pork chops, mashed potatoes,
gravy, and carrots for our supper. Cheri didn’t have any as she didn’t think
her stomach was ready for anything like that. I finally got to watch the NASCAR
race that had been rain delays for the last three days. Cheri did a lot of
napping and I did some reading and napping. Later this evening we did watch some
TV. Thank you God for helping us through this day.
Gay Oct-27-20

Cheri had a better day than
she did yesterday but still not a good day. This morning I was able to get her
to eat a scrambled egg and some bacon. She was light headed all day. Around
4:00 pm I got her to eat something to settle her stomach before giving her any
meds. I waited a half hour and she seemed to be doing ok so I gave her the
meds. Well half hour later she was sick. I had a doctor’s appointment at Tampa
VA and had our neighbor Jean come over and set with Cheri while I was gone. Jean
said that she slept a lot, that’s what she does because the meds maker drowsy.
She is still bleeding but think it is getting better. Going to the doctor and
taking care of Cheri is all I got done today, when I did sit down I would nap.
Thank you God for being with us today.
Gay Oct-26-20

I am a little slow getting
this done this morning. I had a good walk with Dennis and we continue solving
the world problems. Cheri was sick all day and was throwing up this morning. I
blame myself for it. I gave her a pain pill at 5:00 am without making her eat
something before taking the pills. She still has bleeding from her knee. She
had a doctor’s appointment at 2:00 pm in Brandon. We know all the bleeding is
cause because of the blood thinners. Well the knee doctor and heart doctor came
to an agreement that she can be off the blood thinners for a few days until the
blood clots to stop the bleeding. She has another follow up appointment on
Thursday. The doctor said that she may have to go back in the hospital to have
the dried blood removed again. The trip to the doctor just about did her in.
She had a hard time in the car and rode in the back seat as she couldn’t get
her leg in the front seat. All she had to eat today was half of an English
muffin. She went to bed early this evening and gave her a pain pill after she
eat the muffin. I tried to watch some TV but slept through most everything and
decided to go to bed. Thank you God for safe travels to the doctor and home.
