My walk usually last about 45 minutes and was back in the house about three minutes before it started to rain which lasted about 1 ½ hours. It didn’t even look like rain when I was walking but can’t see much at 5:00 am. It ended up raining 90% of the day and received 2 ½ inches. Pastor Randy was gone on his annual bear hunt in Maine so Pastor James delivered the message today. It was from Matthew 5:13-16. Our Sunday school lesson was titled “Relational Investment” from Song of Songs 5:6-16. Just as a couple must invest in their relationship, believers must also invest in their relationship with God. After Sunday school we went over to the fairgrounds as there were several food trucks set up. We were able to drive in and didn’t have to get out of the car as they took our order and delivered it to the car. Cheri had a Philly cheese steak and I had a polish sausage, split an order of cheese fries and a drink. It was around 1:30 pm when we got home. I slept most of the afternoon in my recliner and Cheri watched a couple of movies. After getting woke up I also watched with her. We didn’t have pizza today because of the big lunch. We did have an English muffin with peanut butter for our supper. Thank you God for a great day spending time with you and church friends.

I went to the Hole in One donut shop this morning for our breakfast sandwich and cinnamon roll. They have been closed the last two weeks for remolding and looks very nice. This morning I reordered the cabinets for Donna’s laundry room. I also got a coat of paint on the cabinet doors and painted the wall where the old cabinets hung. I did some work here this morning removing some electrical outlets and wiring from the carport so it will be ready for addition to the existing carport. This afternoon I went to check out a flooring job. A guy stopped yesterday and wanted me to install a new kitchen floor for them. I told him I wasn’t doing any more floors. He asked me if I would come and show his son how to lay the floor. So on Tuesday and Wednesday I will be showing his son how to lay a vinyl floor. It is going to be a big job as there is a lot of cutting to be done. The rest of the day was spent in the recliner reading, napping, and watching TV. We got quite a bit of rain this afternoon never did check the gauge but would guess we got about an inch. Cheri spent most of her day in the sewing room. She is working on another small quit for the hanger she displays them on for different seasons. Cheri fixed us taco salads for supper. It was a normal evening of TV until the NASCAR race started which I watched. Thank you God for helping us through this day.

I got to see Denis on my morning walk and had a short visit with him. I was done with my walk and back home before 6:00 am. I was surprised as Cheri was up showered and all dress when I come in from my walk. She said that she didn’t put in a good night and decided to get up early. Needless to say the Friday laundry was already in the washing machine. Cheri fixed me fired eggs, toast, sausage, and juice for breakfast. We also had coffee which I usually have made before Cheri get up but not this morning. Cheri make peanut butter cookies and worked in her sewing room. I went and fixed a down spout for Lou Kerwood and had a nice visit with her. Then I went over to Donna’s to do more painting. I got the second coat of paint on the cabinet and the back side of the cabinet doors. I am still trying to figure out the cabinets above the washer and dryer. I once again checked out what Lowe’s have but nothing that will work. I did a lot of searching on the internet and found something that would work so I ordered three 24 inch cabinets. After showering and getting cleaned up I realized the total cabinets was going to be 72 inches and I only need 60 inches. So I canceled the order. After doing more searching and not finding what I need I am going to have to reorder the three cabinets and will have to cut one in half to make things fit right, something I really didn’t want to do. We had leftover spaghetti for supper. We watched a few do it yourself shows and some episodes of Dateline. Thank you God for a blessed day.

It was around 4:15 am when I rolled out of bed. After my quiet time with God I headed out for my morning walk. I missed seeing the guy that I meet most morning on my walk. I thought I was in trouble this morning when my phone wouldn’t turn on, completely dead. I plug it back in but nothing happened. Well the plug from the wall was almost out which means it wasn’t able to charge. So all is good now that it is charged up. I went over to Donna’s this morning and put on the primer paint on the cabinets. After lunch I dropped Cheri off at Hobby Lobby and I went to Lowe’s to get some white cabinet paint for Donna’s cabinets. Later in the afternoon I went back to Donna’s and got the first coat of finish paint on the cabinets. Cheri was busy with laundry this morning and spent some time in her sewing room. She fixed us spaghetti for supper and the last of the chocolate cake for dessert. We watched the Wednesday night church service as we forgot to do it last night. Also a movie before calling it a night. Thank you God helping us through this day.

I was up at 4:00 am so I could have my quite time with God before doing my morning walk. Yep I am back walking again I sure did miss it. I got my normal two miles in. This morning I did honey do jobs for Cheri. Some that should have been done some time ago. Cheri made a new chocolate cake recipe and had piece for lunch and had just came out of the oven. It was like triple chocolate, really good. Cheri also worked in her sewing room. This afternoon I went over to Donna to do some work. I removed wall cabinets and cabinet doors getting them ready to paint. Also got the pantry cabinet ready for paint. That was all I could handle today. Still need to gain more strength. Cheri fixed enchiladas for supper. This evening we watched a couple of Hallmark movies we had recorded and another piece of the chocolate cake for an evening snack. Thank you God for a blessed day and taking care of us.

I got up around 6:00 am. I had a 9:30 am doctor’s appointment to have the catheter removed and get rid of Clyde (the name I gave to the pee bag). Nice not to have to drag Clyde around anymore. Cheri got a haircut this morning plus a stop at the bank and grocery store. By lunch time we were both pretty much done for the day. This afternoon I did go over to Donna Perkins to unload the flooring Cheri picked up the other day. We watched movies this afternoon and evening we had recorded, some pretty good and some not so good. Cheri fixed us a hamburger and fries for supper. Thank you God for guiding us through this day. Also thank you for all the prayers to help me get back to good health again.

I would call it a normal day but I don’t know what normal is anymore. We were both slow getting around this morning as we didn’t have to be anywhere. We had coffee with leftover cinnamon rolls for breakfast. After breakfast I got cleaned up to face the day. Cheri spent time in her sewing room and putting out some new decorations. I read my book, napped, and watched TV. I also spent some time on the internet returning some e-mails. After lunch Cheri joined me in her recliner. The afternoon and evening was more TV and leftover pot roast for supper. We had rain storm come through like most every day. Thank you God for helping us through another day.

It was another quite day in the Sharps house. Slow getting around for the day. Cheri made cinnamon rolls to go along with our coffee for breakfast. We settled in at 10:00 am to stream the church service. Pastor Randy’s message was from 2 Peter 1:1-14. Then at 11:30 am we streamed the Sunday school class. Our lesson was titled “Relational Foundations” from Song of Songs 2:15-3:5. God created humans to be relational, with the greatest relationship being between Him and His people. After the Sunday school class Cheri fixed us our Sunday pizza which we been having for lunch which works out better. This afternoon Cheri read, napped some and watched the races with me. I started watching the Indy 500 along with watching the NASCAR race. I kept switching back and forth so I could watch what was recorded. Even took a break from watching the races to watch a movie we had recorded. After having the pizza for lunch we settled for an English muffin with peanut butter for supper. We watched the last episode of Island Reservation, sad to see it end as we really enjoyed it. I read on line that they have made season two. I need to check to see if we can get it. Thank you God for time spent with you keeping us healthy and safe.

Today was the same as yesterday. The only things different was Cheri went to Lakeland to pick up the flooring I ordered for Donna Perkins. The new doorbell came in the mail so I did install it, like it was a big job. All I had to do was pick a sound from 52 different ones, stick the button on the siding by the door, and plug the unit into an electrical outlet. The afternoon did go a little faster as I was able to watch a NASCAR race. We watch a couple movies we recorded. We had a couple of hard rain showers come through this afternoon and evening. I have been depressed and bored because I can’t be out and about working. Thank you God for keeping us healthy and safe today.

It was around 6:15 am when I finally rolled out of bed. My urine looked much better today. It was just another day in the recliner with Cheri taking care of me. Cheri worked on the Friday’s laundry this morning. Alexia let me know that the doorbell I order has come but we didn’t get down to pick up the mail today. I am reading a new book by Todd Hampson called “The End Times”. It is very interesting. We have watched everything we have recorded and can’t seem to find any good shows to watch. I do known that setting around all day makes the day go by really slow. Cheri had put a beef roast in the crockpot with potatoes, onions, and carrots to have for supper which was really good. Thank you God for guiding us through this day.

Will I did better getting up a little pass 6:00 am. Today was pretty much the same as yesterday spending the day in my recliner. I still have some blood in the urine. I am tired of watching TV, reading and time spent on the computer. The home care nurse came around 1:45 pm to check on me, taking blood pressure and listen to my heart and lungs. Our door bell quit working and thought it was the doorbell button and changed the battery and it but still doesn’t work. So I got on line and ordered a new one. Cheri continues to take good care of me. It does make me feel guilty that she has to do so much for me. This evening we watched the Wednesday night church service, forgot all about it last night. Thank you God for being there for us.

I didn’t get out of bed until around 7:30 am. We don’t ever remember us both being in bed that late in the morning. Still tired and not wanting to do anything. Cheri did go out as she need some groceries and things from Wal-Mart. She surprised me with a sub from Jersey Mike’s.    That made for a big lunch and Supper was an English muffin with peanut butter around 7:00 pm. Our daughter Nikki called to see how I was doing. I don’t have any more news. Praying that tomorrow will be better.

Well as you read this you can see I have missed several days of posting the blog. I will start with Aug-14. The day started like any other day with my morning walk. Breakfast and coffee with Cheri. Then I went work at Donna Perkins installing the bathroom floor. I came home for lunch and went to wash up for lunch and found that I had some blood in my urine. I have had this on other times but was more than normal. After lunch I went to Lowe’s to get base board and quarter round for the bath room. I wasn’t in the mood do anymore work so I came home to get cleaned up and found that I had a lot of blood in my urine along with blood clots. So 2:30 pm Cheri took me to the ER. They did a C-Scan and didn’t find anything. So they put a special catheter in so they could put fluid in to the bladder and drain it back out to wash the blood out. That continued 24/7 until Sunday evening. Things started to look better so they stopped the flushing to see what the urine would look like Monday morning. It was much clearer so I got to come home. The rest of my day was in the recliner. Cheri went to pick up new meds for me. She is really taking good care of me. Tuesday I got up around 5:00 am and was really tired and felt weak. So it was another day in the recliner. This afternoon heath care came to see me. I guess they will be coming a couple more time this week to check on me. Being chained to a pee bag makes it hard to do anything and the way I feel I don’t want to do anything. Thank you God for all you do for us. Thanks to family and friends praying for us.

My day didn’t go as I had planned it. I had an 8:00 am appointment in Tampa Bay country to do some house siding where I removed the structure around the water softener. As it turned out she didn’t have enough extra siding to do the project. And she can’t find any matching siding. So she is going to buy enough to reside the whole side of the house which I will be doing in two or three weeks. She has a golf cart that hasn’t been used in three years that she wants to sell. The battery charger doesn’t work and she had a neighbor come over to charge it up but the batteries won’t take a charge. So I am doing work for her and the payment will be the golf cart. It something we really don’t need but it will be a fun project to get it working again. I had checked on getting the carport roof extended over the pavement we installed several years ago. Well a guy from Sun State came today and gave us a bid on doing the project which was something I wanted to do myself but realize I am no long able to do it. Long story short they are going to do it within the next month as they have to wait for a building permit which takes about three weeks. Cheri did her normal Thursday housework and laundry. She fixed pork chops with all the fixing in the crockpot to have for supper. Late afternoon we had the ladies from two door down come over to look at our kitchen cabinets. They want me to remodel their kitchen. It is going to be a job as there is a wall to open up and extend an existing wall. I know it is probably a job I shouldn’t do but I feel sorry for them as I know they have tight budget for the project. We watched a couple episodes of Mountain Men, a Hallmark movie, and a couple episodes of Flipping across America. Thank you God for working with all the projects today and keeping us safe and healthy.

I had an 8:00 am appointment two doors down from us. It is the place where I did the plumbing for the washer and dryer. They now want to remodel their kitchen. They wanted some pointers on what they could do. It looks like I will be helping them, but they want to do a lot of the work themselves. Then I headed to Tampa Bay country. I was supposed to install a new bedroom fan but it was going to hang too low so they are going to get a different one. I did install a TV mount in the bedroom. Then some electrical work on a three way switch circuit which someone had removed the three way switch and installed standard switch to operate the ceiling fan in the lanai. It took me awhile to get the wiring straighten out as it was wire differently than it should have been. Then I removed the old lanai ceiling fan and installed a new one. It was really hot and no air movement. I drank four bottles of water in a two hour period. Needless to say I came home hot, sweaty, and tired. It was after 4:00 pm when I got home. Cheri was out and about today picking up medications and doing some shopping. She also made me a batch of chocolate chip cookies. We had the rest of the leftover lasagna for supper. We watched an old Perry Mason episode, stream the Wednesday evening church service, and watched Homestead Rescue. Thank you God for a blessed day.

I left the house at 6:40 am heading to Dade City for my accountability group breakfast and Bible study. There were only five of us this morning. Others had appointments and wasn’t able to make it. We finished the book of John and next week we will be starting the book of Ephesians. I was back home a little before 9:00 am. I set and talked with Cheri before heading over to Donna Perkins to work on the bathroom. I finished installing the new light fixture, reattached a piece of trim, did touch up painting, put down the moister barrier on the floor, and cut the first piece of flooring. I called Donna and talked to her about the cabinet in the laundry room. She wants an additional cabinet installed but I can’t find one that matches the ones that are there. I am not sure what she wants to do and wants to think about it. Cheri did her normal Tuesday house work and then worked in her sewing room. She finished the table runner she has been work on for some time, looks really nice. She used Fire Weed material that she bought in Alaska back in 2008. When the Fire Weed is in bloom it is really beautiful. I know she is happy to have it done. This afternoon I went over to Bill and Sharon’s (friends from church) to help change out a counter cooktop. Things went well except had to install a junction box for the wiring. It was around 4:30 pm when I got home. We had leftover lasagna for supper. We watched a couple episodes of 20/20 and some episodes Homestead Rescue which we enjoyed. We are still fighting the hot and humid weather with a high temp of 96 degrees. Thank you God for helping us through this day and keeping us safe and healthy.

Cheri went over to Jean’s this morning to drop off newspapers and a visit with her. She also had a phone visit with Pam. I left the house at 7:20 am heading to Tampa Bay country to remove an old water softener and a protective cover that was over it, wanted to start early before I got really hot. The little building was in really bad shape and was rotten around the bottom. I try to take a picture before I start a project but once again I forgot to take the picture. But have one while it is on the ground. When I got home I unloaded the truck with the old housing and took it apart so I can get rid of it. Then I took some old fans, garbage disposals, and other things I have collected to the recycle drop off. I made seven dollars. Cheri had some errands to do this afternoon. After I got cleaned up I did make a trip to Sun State to have them come out to give me an estimate on extending the carport roof over the concrete we put in several years ago. I want to be able to have the truck under cover. I also stopped at Lowe’s to some materials for another project. Cheri fixed us Lasagna for supper. Sure did smell good while it was baking and even better when eating it. This evening we started to watch a movie but I napped through the whole movie. So we called it a night and headed to bed. No rain today which is unusual as we always get some kind of shower each day in the summer. Thank you God for a blessed day giving us guidance and keeping us safe.

I am still getting up at 4:00 am to do my quiet time with God and my two mile plus walk each morning. We left the house at 9:20 am heading to Dade City for church and Sunday school. Pastor Randy’s message was titled “Closing Words for the Church” from 1 Peter 5:12-14. Our Sunday school lesson was titled “Accepting Discipline” from Proverbs 29:1-3, 12-20. God uses discipline from society, family, and others to shape His people. On the way home from church we stopped at Beall’s as Cheri had some things that she needed to return. From there we went to Larry and Denise’s drop off some things and check their house. Our last stop was at Steve and Sue’s to check their house. Everything looked good in both houses. It was 2:00 pm when we finally sat down for our Sunday pizza. We watched a Hallmark movie and an episode of Cold case Files. After that it was time to watch the NASCAR race. Around 6:30 pm we had an English muffin with peanut butter. Later Cheri had a cookie and I had a small dish of ice cream. Then watched and episode of Island of Bryan. It is about the renovation of an island resort, very interesting. We had a rain storm come through this afternoon and evening. Lots of thunder and lighting. I checked the rain gauge and received just over 1 ¼ inch. Thank you God for time spent with you and church friends today.

Let’s see it is still August which means it is still Cheri’s birthday. Yes I went to the Hole in One Donut shop to get the breakfast sandwich and cinnamon rolls. After breakfast I headed over to Donna Perkins to start the list of things she wants me to do while she is up north. I removed the washer and dryer from the laundry room and the trim around the floor to install new flooring. I also removed the toilet from the bathroom and the floor trim to install new flooring. I did caulking in the bathroom and installed a new light fixture. By noon I was done for the day. When I got home I unloaded a few things from the truck and add what I will need for Monday. Cheri went grocery shopping this morning and then work some in her sewing room. After my shower and lunch we settled in for an afternoon and evening and some napping for me. We watched several episodes of Mountain Men and the NASCAR race. Cheri fixed us BQ on toast for supper. Thank you God for taking care of us today and keeping us healthy and safe.

Cheri was busy with the Friday laundry and then went shopping this morning. I had an appointment in Tampa Bay country to remove an old ceiling fan and install a new one. Then rerouted the water from a down spout. I was about readily to leave and got a call from another party in Tampa Bay country that was having trouble changing a switch/outlet. So I headed over to help them out. They had it wired all wrong and was tripping the breaker. Well I rewired it correctly and everything works OK. A wire in the old one had come loose and burned the switch. I also made a stop at Bob Conover’s to see how he was doing. He had a large spot of cancer removed from behind his ear. Turned out to be a major operation. It was after 1:30 pm when I got home. I got cleaned up and then we headed to Lakeland to order some flooring for a client here in our park. Of course we had to go to Harry’s for an early dinner because Cheri says the whole month of August is her birthday. It was excellent as usual, never had a bad meal there. When we got home we headed for the recliners. Cheri watching the First 48 hours which I started and ended up sleeping through it. I finally woke up and watched some home improvement shows. Thank you God for guiding us through another day.

I am not sure what all Cheri did today but I do know that she did laundry as she was busy with it when I left the house this morning. I had an appointment over in Tampa Bay country at 9:30 am. Busily doing honey do work. I worked on installing a new towel bar, a new drawer front, hang an ornament in the bathroom, repair a closet door, repair the dead bolt on the front door, and add drawer pulls in the bathroom. Before I left we set a time next Wednesday to replace two ceiling fans and add an electrical outlet in the garage. It was midafternoon when I got home to shower and get cleaned up. I had planned on doing some reading this afternoon but couldn’t keep my eye open, so it was a two hour nap instead of reading. We forgot to watch the Wednesday night church service so we streamed it this evening. Pastor Randy is still in Revelations and probably will be for the next few weeks, good stuff to know about. Thank you God for a blessed day keeping us healthy and safe.

I didn’t have any set plans for today. But I did get the camper for sale posted about 7:30 am. Within minutes I got the first call wanting to know what my rock bottom price was so I told her and then she wanted me to go lower but told her no. Within a few more minutes I got another call asking me questions about the camper. He was an hour and a half away and wanted to come and look at it. Said that he would be here between 10:30 am and 11:00 am. So while I waited I went over to Donna Perkins to take measurements on how much flooring I need for the bathroom and laundry room. The guy came a short time after getting home. Long story short the camper was sold by 11:00 am. By the time we got the paper work done and the camper hooked up to his truck it was after 12:30 pm. I was hot and sweaty and ready for a shower to get cleaned up. After a late lunch I went to see if I could get anything back on camper storage as I was paid until December, the lady that takes care of it is gone until late August and will get in touch with me. Then I headed downtown to the insurance office to remove coverage on the camper. The office was locked up and said that everything has to be down by phone and e-mail. So I called and are sending me an e-mail that I have to sign electronicky and send back, another new normal. On the way home I stopped at Auto Zone and got the new windshield wipers that will fit the truck, glad to have that done. Cheri fixed a new recipe called Taco Bake. It was ok but nothing special and Cheri said that she wouldn’t make it again but still have another meal of it. I am not sure what was going on this evening but forgot to stream the live church service, will watch it tomorrow evening. I guess we were too wrapped up in home repair shows. Thank you God for getting our camper sold and taking care of us today.

Once again my day started at 4:00 am. First my quite time with God. Then my two mile walk, make coffee, write the blog, and leave the house at 6:40 am. I was on my way to Dade City for our accountability group Bible study and breakfast. I stopped at Burger King for a breakfast sandwich and a large coffee. When I got to the Sunday school room I sat up the tables for our study group. By the time I got done some of the men started coming in. We studied John chapter 21. It was after 9:00 am when I got home. Cheri had already got the floors vacuumed and was drinking coffee when I got home. I brushed my teeth and shaved. Now I am ready to face the day. I went over to the camper and finished everything with it and is now ready to sell. Cheri had gotten the floors mopped while I was gone. Then I cleaned out the truck and reloaded it with things for a new project. I also cut back some of the flowers. After I was done I headed for the shower to get cleaned up. After lunch I went to see a lady here in the park, she had called me to let me know that she had some lumber in her shed that she want to give to me. After loading the lumber I sat and visited with her for a while. When I got home Cheri was working in her sewing room. We both headed to our recliners to rest and watch a movie. Well Cheri watched and napped. Cheri fixed us a hamburger and French fries for supper along with a couple of cookies. The rest of our evening was watching a movie and more Perry Mason. We also had a hard rain this afternoon but did last that long but got almost an inch. Yep I now have the new rain gauge up and can see how much we receive. Thank you God for a blessed day taking care of us. As you can see there are several things that I do each day that I don’t put in the blog.

Cheri had a busy day doing Monday house work, fixing BQ spare ribs in the air fryer grill and then in the crockpot, and working in her sewing room. Oh yes she made cookies today. She likes peanut butter cookies and I like chocolate chip cookies. So she compromised by making peanut butter cookies with chocolate chips in them. I worked on the bathroom vanity project today. It turned out to be a bigger job than I thought it would be. I had to move the water lines as the new vanity also had drawers in it and remove the mirror because the new vanity was taller. Long story short I finished the project around 4:00 pm. He still needs to paint and install a new floor. The BQ ribs Cheri fixed were really good. Later while watching TV we had dish of ice cream with a cookie. We watched a movie from Hallmark and another episode of Perry Mason. Thank you God for a blessed day.

The vanity project is done.

Cheri informed me that her birthday will last for the whole month of Aug. I guess I will be busy taking care of her. I was up before 4:00 am and was done with my morning walk and quite time with God all before 6:00 am. We left at 9:20 am heading to church and Sunday school. Pastor Randy’s message was titled “Facing the Storm Head on” from 1 Peter 5:8-11. Our Sunday school lesson was titled “Staying Sober” from Proverbs 23:17-21, 29-35. God expects believers to be good stewards of the bodies He has given them. The last couple of Sundays we haven’t had our normal Sunday evening pizza because of eating a late lunch and not feeling like pizza for supper. So today we had the pizza for our late lunch and then just a muffin with peanut butter for our supper. I was able to watch the NASCAR race this afternoon and this evening a couple of movies and more Perry Mason. Thank you God for time spent with you and Christian friends.

First I want to wish my lovely wife a Happy Birthday. I left the house at 6:45 am to get Cheri’s birthday breakfast at the Hole in One Donut shop. I got an egg, cheese, sausage, croissant breakfast sandwich that we split and each of us a cinnamon roll. I had a 9:00 am appointment to install a new bathroom vanity. When I got there he had most of the old vanity out but knocked a hole in the wall. So today I worked on patching the wall and another place that was wet from the water leak. I got the wall repaired a coat of plater on which was as far as I could go today. Monday I will have to put on another coat of plaster and get the vanity ready to install. Cheri spent 90 percent of her day on the telephone. She got many birthday phone calls, e-mails, and wishes on Face Book. Around 4:00 pm I took the car and filled it with gas, stopped at Lowe’s, and a stop at Jersey Mike’s for subs to have for supper. This evening we watched a couple of movies and an old episode of Perry Mason. I recorded several episodes of Perry Mason so will be watching them for a while. Thank you God for this day and continue to keep love ones, friends, and family safe from the virus.

This is what i found when I went for the vanity project.

I am still getting up at 4:00 am. I think it is because I am doing the morning walk and which takes extra time. Once again I was at the Sunday school building where Jim Wilson and I continued removing carpet tack strip and linoleum. By noon we were done with this project. Now we turn it over to the building committee to get bids for the new flooring or refinish the old pine flooring. I also worked on the camper today I have all the flooring done, still have to reinstall a molding and do some cleaning in the cargo area. Cheri worked on the Friday laundry and spending time in her sewing room. After getting cleaned up this afternoon Cheri and I headed to the recliners for reading, watching TV, and napping for me. Cheri fixed us the leftovers from our dinner at Harry’s. It was a normal evening of TV trying to find something interesting to watch. Thank you God for a blessed day.
