It was a nice morning for
my walk with Dennis. It amazes me with the things he comes up with to talk
about, learn something new each day. Cheri was awake and ready for her
breakfast at 6:00 am. After breakfast she continued getting herself ready for
the day. After I got ready for the day it was time to stream the church
service, will be happy when we can actually attend church again. We tried to stream the Sunday school class but
couldn’t get it today, don’t know if it was something we did or Charlie could
get it on Facebook. So we were able to have our Sunday pizza at noon. This
afternoon I went to see one of the people I do work for and wants me to order a
new door bell and has a list of minor things she wants me to do. Then I went to
Rural King to get a new battery for the truck as it finally gave up. They didn’t
have one for our tuck and went to Wal-Mart where I did find one. After I got
that installed it was time to settle in the recliner. Cheri continues to do
more walking in the house, gaining a little more strength each day. We watched
Dateline, a couple of home improvement shows, and then settled in to watch the
Green Bay Packers and was able to stay awake for the whole game which they won.
Thank you God for a blessed day and able to stream the church service.

Cheri was awake when I got
home from my morning walk 5:40 am. I fixed her a bowl of a banana with milk. Because
I told her I was going to go to the Hole in One donut shop for her usual Saturday
breakfast. Well when I got there it was closed for the holiday weekend. So I
went over to BK and got a couple of breakfast sandwiches. I guess we will be
going through withdraw without our cinnamon rolls. Cheri didn’t have to have
the IV drip which helped make her feel better. So I was able to get away to go
and work on the kitchen project next door. I was doing electrical work today
and things didn’t go as planned. You never know how things will go when doing a
remodel. I was home at noon to fix Cheri’s and my lunch. Then it was back to
work this afternoon. I got home around 4:00 pm. After showering and getting
cleaned up I fixed the rest of the roast beef for supper. Cheri did more
walking today and asked me to get out the container that she keeps all the
Thanksgiving stuff in. She had me put it on the dining room table where she
could set and pack everything away. It was a normal evening of TV. Thank you
God for a blessed day.

When I got back from my
morning walk Cheri was already up and in the bathroom. The nurse was scheduled to
come between 8:30 and 9:00 am. At 8:00 am Cheri called the pharmacy and they never
did get the scrip from the doctor. So Cheri called the doctor’s office and is
closed for the holiday. When the nurse came we told her about not getting the
scrip. She got on the phone and got ahold of the on call doctor. Well around 10:30
am we got a call from the doctor saying she called in the scrip and nothing
about why it wasn’t done on Wednesday. A little while later got a call from the
pharmacy that her medication was ready to be picked up. Some good news as the
nurse unwrapped Cheri’s leg there wasn’t any blood, first time since the
surgery back on Oct. 16th. I had already started the IV drip but
happy that it was going to be the last one. I did a load of laundry and that
was about it for the day. Other than going out to pick up the medication for
Cheri. The afternoon and evening was napping and watching TV. I did fix more of
the roast beef that Ron and Sandy brought over and will have enough for one
more meal. Also this afternoon I went to get something out of the crisper drawer
in refrigerator and it wouldn’t come open, just like it is locked. Looks like I
am going to do some dismantling to fix it and not in the mood to work on it
today. Thank you God for giving Cheri a better day.

Happy Thanks Giving to
all. I did the morning walk with Dennis and was a little cooler but nice no
wind. Right now every morning is the same routine, Cheri getting up, doing her sponge
bath, me getting her breakfast, getting her meds and IV drip ready, and getting
her attached to the IV. I am usually done with this by 10:30 am. Then it is
time for me to get cleaned up and ready for the day. Cheri is usually done with
the IV somewhere between noon and 1:30 pm. Then it is time to get us a lunch.
Today I did do a load of laundry. Lunch was different today as about the time I
was getting ready to fix it we got a call from Jean and said that she would bring
over green bean casserole, chicken, and cranberries. So we had a big lunch and
just an English muffin for supper. Cheri had more pain in her knee today, think
it was because it was wrapped different from the doctor yesterday. I tried to
do some reading this afternoon but found that napping worked better. Cheri
watched a couple of movies this afternoon. Later after I was awake we watched
some fall shows and some home improvement shows. Darren called us a couple of
days ago, today got a text from Kari, and a phone call from Nikki. Thank you
God for a blessed day and help us with some healing power.

It was a little cooler
walking this morning which was nice. I helped Cheri get ready for her IV drip
earlier today because she had a doctor’s appointment at 1:45 pm. by starting
early she was done by noon. After I got done with the IV drip I went down to
the club house to pick up our Thanksgiving dinner. We had turkey, green bean casserole,
mashed potatoes, dressing, sweet potato, roll, and gravy plus apple pie for
dessert. All for six dollars per person. So I heated everything up and had our
dinner today. By the time we were done it was time to head out for Cheri’s
appointment. Cheri still has one spot that is bleeding and has to go back on
Monday to have the stiches removed. They checked on the blood culture and it
was clear so they called the infections disease doctor and they said that she
could stop doing the IV drip and take antibiotics pill and disease doctor
called it in to our pharmacy. So on the way home we stopped at the pharmacy to
see how late they were open and are closed on Thanks Giving day. I checked to
see how long it would be and they said that they hadn’t received anything from
the doctor. So the pharmacy called the doctor and told them to put a rush on
it. Then the pharmacy said that they would call us when they heard something.
Well they close at 8:00 pm and didn’t hear anything which probably means they
didn’t get anything from the doctor. We weren’t happy because now Cheri will
have to do the IV drip again tomorrow. It was a depressing end to the day.
Thank you God for taking care of us today.
Gay Nov-24-20

I managed to get my
morning walk done. I got Cheri’s breakfast ready for her and was dressed and
ready to leave the house at 6:45 am for my Tuesday morning breakfast and Bible
study. Today we finished the first chapter of Acts. When I got home I got Cheri’s
medications rounded up and got ready to do the IV drip. I also got the laundry
going and did two loads. After lunch I sat down and called about signing up for
a new Medicare part D plan. I had trouble finding the web site so called and
got someone that spoke English with a heavy accent and wasn’t able to
understand him. I had the same thing happen a few days ago when I tried to sign
up. I finally gave up and headed to the pharmacy where I got the plan that we
should sign up for and asked them if they could do it for me. Well in a short
time they had Cheri and I signed up. They knew how to get to the right web
site. When I got home I headed to the recliner with an ice pack for my eyes,
they seem to feel some better today but look really bad. We had left over roast
beef with carrots, potatoes, and gravy that Ron and Sandy brought over for
supper. Also had a piece of pumpkin pie that Dick and Linda brought over. We
watched some new fall shows before calling it a night. Thank you God for
helping us through this day.
Gay Nov-23-20

The nurse came at9:30 am
to draw blood and replace the bandage on her arm coving the pick line. Before
the nurse left the physical therapist came. He put her through her PT and
checked the movement of her knee and she is now able to bend to 95 degrees and
back to almost 0 degrees. He was pleased with the progress she is making. She
is doing a little more walking each day with the walker. So with the nurse and
therapist it was later before I could get the IV drip started. I was able to
take a shower this morning and got all the tape off around my eyes. I am still
having some pain and did several ice packs throughout the day. I fixed Cheri
tomato soup, crackers, and cheese for lunch which is the same thing she has had
for several days. Later in the afternoon I made a trip to the grocery store for
ice and groceries. I was only back home for a short time when Dick and Linda
stopped by for a visit. It made Cheri feel better as she hasn’t had any
visitors. They stayed about an hour and had a good visit. We had leftovers for
supper and then settled in for a normal evening of TV watching the new fall
shows. Thank you God for the healing improvement that you have given Cheri and
healing my eyes.
Gay Nov-22-20

I had to force myself
again to do my morning walk. I felt miserable all day with some pain around my
eyes. So I didn’t do a very good job taking care of Cheri today. I got her
breakfast early and then I went to the recliner and put ice pack on my eyes
which helped make them feel better. After I got Cheri settled in her recliner I
got her IV drip started, leg wraps on, and ice machine going. Then it was time
to stream the church service which worked well because I could keep ice packs
on my eyes. I also did the same while the Sunday school lesson was going. Cheri’s
IV drip took a lot longer to do and didn’t get done until after 1:00 pm. I
fixed us the usual Sunday pizza for a late lunch. Just an English muffin with
peanut butter for our supper. I watched the Green Bay Packers playing the Colts
and they lost, pretty much beat themselves. Cheri did more walking today. I had trouble sleeping tonight so
got up and went to the recliner and watched a little more TV before turning it
off and spent the night in the recliner. Thank you God for getting us through
this day.
Gay Nov-21-20

I didn’t think I would be
able to walk this morning but I forced myself to go. If it wasn’t for meeting
Dennis on the walk I probably wouldn’t done it. The daily thing was getting
Cheri up for breakfast and then she got herself cleaned up before getting to
the recliner. After my breakfast and coffee I sat with ice on my eyes for a
couple of hours. Then it was time to get Cheri’s IV going. By the time I got it
started it was almost lunch time. After lunch I sat with ice on my eyes again.
It makes them feel better. Dennis (my walking partner) and his wife Sue Ann
brought over a casserole for our supper. It was very good and have enough for
another meal and still have leftover roast beef that Ron and Sandy brought
over. So we will be eating well for a few days. I didn’t feel that good today
and then watching the Wisconsin Badgers get beat didn’t help my day. Thank you
God for good friends helping us through this day.
Gay Nov-20-20

I didn’t get to do my
morning walk as I left the house at 4:50 am. Bill Mc Cafferty (church friend)
picked me up to take me down to the Tampa VA for my eye surgery. He came back
and picked me up at 1:30 pm. I had everything laid out for the nurse when she
came to give Cheri the IV drip. Cheri called Jean to come over after the nurse
left in case she needed help. I wasn’t feeling very good when I got home. I
took a pain pill and covered my eye with an ice pack. Ron and Sandy came over
with roast beef, carrots, potatoes, and rolls for us to have for supper. I wasn’t
feeling very good from the pain pill so Ron and Sandy served us the meal before
they left. I was hungry and thought I would feel better after I ate but that
wasn’t case. I felt really bad and slept in the chair until it was time to get
Cheri and myself into bed. Thank you God for getting us through this day and
the help of friends. Thank you Ron and Sandy for the food.

Today was pretty much the
same as yesterday. I did my morning walk, helped Cheri get around this morning.
She is doing better and is able to do more for herself now. She continues to
walk in the house with the walker and do her exercises. The nurse came at 11:00
am to draw blood. I couldn’t do the IV drip until after she had the blood draw.
During the day at different times she had the leg wraps on and the ice machine.
This afternoon Pastor Randy came to see her and prayed with us. We had a nice
visit with him. It is so good to have a church family to help support us
through the times when we need it. For supper I went out Culvers to get Cheri
the ocean cod dinner which we spilt as it is a big meal. It was a normal
evening of watching the fall shows along with some napping. Thank you God for a
blessed day and giving us guidance.
Gay Nov-18-20

I managed to get my walk
in this morning and then getting Cheri breakfast and her meds. I left the
house at 6:30 am heading to Tampa VA for a Covid test and preop for bleed
test and an EKG. I am having eye surgery on Friday, having my eye lids and eye
brows lifted. I got home at 9:00 am, just in time to get Cheri into her
recliner and get things ready for her daily IV drip. The therapist came at
11:00 am and helped her with some PT. Cheri had another good day with walking
and more flexibility with her knee. The IV drip makes her very sleepy and
sleeps most all of the afternoon. Once again Cheri wanted cream of tomato soup and
crackers for lunch. I tried to do some reading this afternoon but did more
napping then reading. I manage to get out for a haircut late this afternoon.
Mike and Pam brought over vegetable soup, cornbread, and ice cream drumsticks
for us. Nothing like a good bowl of hot soup and warm buttered cornbread. We were
going to have the ice cream but was too full of soup. Thank you Mike and Pam
for bringing us food. We tried to watch TV this evening but turned out to be
more napping than watching. Thank you God for getting us through another day
and continue giving Cheri a healing power.

Sorry that this is late
but due to an early VA appointment I didn’t have time to do it before I left.
I was able to get my walk
in this morning. I had to have a jacket as the temp was 54 degrees. I always
get back around 5:40 am and again this morning Cheri was waiting for me to get
her cereal and banana for breakfast. By the time I got her to the recliner and
getting her hooked to the IV it was after 10:00 am and the IV took until 12:30
pm before it was done. Cheri was sleeping and had hard time to get her woke up
so I could unhook the IV. I also got the ice machine going and the wraps on her
legs. I fixed her cream of tomato soup for lunch. I had a sandwich with chips.
I was able to rest some this afternoon and do some reading in book number six
of the Left Behind series. Cheri walked in the house two different time and did
really good. I fixed a frozen bag meal (Garlic Shrimp--pasta in a garlic sauce
with shrimp, broccoli, carrots, and corn) not very good and no flavor. We
managed to watch some more of the fall season shows, must of them all about the
virus and am already tired of hearing about the virus. Thank you God for giving
Cheri some improvement on her knee.
Gay Nov-16-20

I no longer know what is
normal any more. I did get to do my morning walk but the rest of the day is
different now. I got all the meds and equipment laid out for Cheri’s IV meds. Cheri’s
nurse came at 9:45 am to do a blood draw and to watch me to make sure I was
doing the IV meds correctly. I got the IV meds started at 10:15 am and didn’t
get done with the IV drip until 1:00 pm. While the IV drip was going the therapist
came to help her do some knee exercises. I had started a load of laundry early
this morning and just got the bed made around 1:30 pm. Then I headed out to the
grocery store to pick up a few things we needed. I fixed a ham and noddle casserole
that Cheri had made and put in the freezer before her knee surgery for supper. We
tried to watch some new fall TV shows but neither of could stay awake and
decided to go to bed and watch some there. Thank you God for getting us through
this day.
Gay Nov-15-20

At 8:30 am they delivered
Cheri’s medicine for the next seven days, two big boxes. It had to be unpacked
and refrigerated. The nurse came at 9:00 am to show me how to set things up and
how to do the IV drip. Cheri has two medicines that go through the pick line. One
takes about five minutes and the other one takes at least two hours. It is
quite the processes and the nurse will be back tomorrow to watch me and make
sure I do it right. So it was 1:00 pm before we were done with the IV for the
day. I tried to watch the rest of the Wisconsin Badger football game and had
trouble staying awake. So when I wasn’t taking care of Cheri I spent most of my
time napping. We did have pizza for a late lunch and then this evening it was
English muffins with peanut butter. We did watch some of the new fall shows
this evening which I miss most of by napping. Thank you God for sending us a
really good nurse and helping us through this day. We didn’t watch the church
service today as I know I could stay awake for it. They had problems and couldn’t
get the Sunday school lesson on Facebook.
Gay Nov-14-20

I didn’t have a very good
night, think it was because Cheri wasn’t here with me. I did do my morning walk
and quiet time with God. I took my time getting around because I couldn’t get
into the hospital until after 9:00 am. On the way to the hospital I stopped at
Hole in One donut shop and picked up a cinnamon roll for Cheri. It was a long
day in the hospital. Cheri didn’t have a good nurse today, did seem like he
knew what he was doing. The doctor came in early and said that she could go
home after she got a pick line in her arm to have the IV antibiotics at home.
Well it was 3:30 pm before they came and got her for the pick line and was back
in her room at 4:00 pm. She was told then that when the paper work was done she
could leave and go home. Well we wait over two and a half hours for the paper
work which only took ten minutes the last time we were there (not a happy
camper). It was near 7:30 pm when we got home. We were both exhausted and Cheri
went right to bed. I fixed myself a sandwich and tried to watch the Wisconsin
Badger football game but couldn’t stay awake to watch all of it. Maybe tomorrow
I can finish watching it. Thank you God for Cheri being able to come home and
giving us guidance.
Gay Nov-13-20

I did my morning walk and
the blog for yesterday. I helped Cheri get around and ready to leave at 10:20
am. We got a call from the hospital and wanted to know if we could come earlier
and told them we were already on our way. Before for any surgery prep the
doctor came and check her out and said she would have to go back into surgery
to have the knee cleaned out and thought that she may have an infection. It was
1:30 pm when they took her in for surgery. I didn’t get to see her again until
she was in a room around 5:30 pm. The doctor has put her on an IV antibiotics
drip and said that they would put in a port to receive an antibiotics drip at
home for six weeks. She should be able to come home on Sunday. It has been
almost four weeks since she had the surgery and once again will have to start
over with therapy and PT. She is depress and needs prayers to help her through
this. It was after 7:30 pm when I got home. Thank you God for helping us
through this day and guiding the doctor to take care of her.
Gay Nov-12-20

No walk again this morning
because of leftover rain from the hurricane. It was a busy day. Cheri was up
early again want something to eat at 5:00 am. So I fixed her the usual cereal
with a banana. I got her into her recliner and hooked up to the ice machine and
leg wraps. I did three loads for laundry, sweep the floors, moped the floors, and
unloaded the dishwasher. During all of this I got Cheri in the car and took her
for her 11:45 am PT appointment. The lady that took care of her wasn’t happy
that she still had some bleeding. She said that she was going to call the
doctor and see what he had to say about it. After I got Cheri home I made a
trip to Lowe’s to pick up electrical materials for the kitchen project and make
a stop at the grocery store for ice and a few other things we needed. When I got
home Cheri got a call from the hospital. She will be going back to the surgery
center tomorrow to have the doctor check the bleeding. He may have to go in and
clean out the area where it is bleeding and wanted her at the hospital so it
could be done tomorrow. The bleeding has been the problem all along and has
been off the blood thinners for two weeks which isn’t good because she needs
them for her heart. I fixed leftover casserole for supper. It was after 6:00 pm
before I was done for the day. We watched the three Chicago shows, nice that
the new season has started. Thank you God for being with us today and praying
for a good day with the doctor tomorrow.
Gay Nov-11-20

It is Veterans Day and I
pray that you reached out and thanked a Veteran today. In fact we should thank
one every day because without them we wouldn’t be free to do the things we do. Cheri
continues to be up when I get back from my morning walk. She is always very hungry
when she wakes up, ready for a bowl of cereal with a banana. Cheri’s knee is
still weeping blood but was able to take a shower for the first time since she
had surgery, which made her feel better. I re bandaged her knee, praying that
the blood will clot and no more bleeding. I left the house at 10:00 am for an
appointment in Tampa that the VA to have an MRI on my shoulder as I have been
having a lot of pain. It was near 1:00 pm when I got home. After a late lunch I
crashed in the recliner to relax for a while, which included a nap. I planned
on doing some work this afternoon but just didn’t have the energy to do anything,
maybe it was because of all the rain. Skip and Joy sent over a casserole which
we had for supper which was very good. It was a normal evening of TV watching whatever
we could find that was worth watching. I will be glad to have the new fall
season shows back. The storm hit us around midnight with strong winds and rain
but by 1:00 am the wind was gone and just rain. I will check in the morning to
see if we had any damage. Thank you God for guiding us through this day.
Gay Nov-10-20

Normal walk this morning, thought
there would be rain but none until this evening. Cheri was up really early
again this morning and got her situated in her recliner before I left at 6:45
am heading to Dade City for my accountability breakfast and Bible study. I had mentioned
to the group that I needed to get a shower chair for Cheri. Well Skip said that
they had one that we could use. So on the way home I picked it up but found that
is too big for our shower, good to know because I might have ordered one that
was too big. When I got home Cheri’s knee was bleeding from taking out the
staples yesterday and had to change the bandage and rewrap her knee. When I
went to make the bed I saw blood on the sheets so did some laundry to get that
cleaned up. I did go next door to do a little work on the kitchen project
mainly tracing out the electrical that has to be moved and trying to figure out
what size cabinets to order but they keep changing their mine on what they
want. I got Cheri into the leg machine a couple times today as well the ice
machine and leg wraps. She got a call today telling her she will start the PT
Thursday at 11:45 am. For Supper we had the last of the bean soup and vegetable
soup that Ron and Sandy brought over. We
watched NCIS, the first show that they did back in 2003, strange to see how
they have changed over the years but guess we all look different than we did in
2003. We also watched some other home improvement shows. Thank you God for
getting us through another day and time spent with the accountability group.
Gay Nov-9-20

My morning walk was cut
short as it started to rain shortly after leaving the house so I only made it
around two blocks. Cheri was up early again this morning and got her a bowl of cereal
with a banana which she had before 6:00 am. By 6:30 am she was in her leg
machine while I got shaved and got cleaned up. After that she went to the
recliner where I got her hooked up to the ice machine and leg wraps. The therapist
came at 10:00 am and said that she had more movement in her knee today. We left
the house at 12:45 pm heading to Brandon for her 2:00 pm doctor’s appointment.
She had the staples removed today (31 of them). She still has one spot that is weeping
blood and put on a bandage and wrapped it. Tomorrow or the next day she will be
going for rehab, just waiting for the call from them to let her know the days
and times. A lady here in our park called and said that her shed door keeps
coming open and it is locked. Wants me to check it out so between the rain
showers this afternoon I went and did a temporary fix on it has I will need
more time to fix it correctly. I heated up bean soup that Ron and Sandy brought
over for us along with some cornbread. By the time all was said and done it was
6:30 pm before watching some TV shows. We watch a new episode of NCIS New Orleans
that we had recorded but because of the election things it started late and
didn’t have all of the show. We also watched some Flip and Flop before calling
it a night. Thank you God for safe travels today and Cheri getting a good
report on her knee. Please pray for a speedy recovery.
Gay Nov-8-20

It was a busy day for me. I did my morning walk and got home at 5:40 am. Cheri was up and said that she was really hungry so I got her a bowl of cereal. Then I did the blog for the happing’s of yesterday. Then I got Cheri into her leg machine for half an hour while I shaved and got cleaned up. Then I got Cheri into her recliner and hooked up with leg wraps and the ice machine. After my breakfast and coffee I called in a prescript of meds Cheri needed. Then headed to the grocery store for ice and groceries. When I got home I put the groceries away and yes I got the ice out of the car into the freezer. I had a few minutes to get the church service set up to watch. By the time church and Sunday school was over it was 12:30 pm. When that was over I put the pizza in the oven and got things ready for lunch. After lunch we got a call that Cheri’s meds were ready to pick up. So I headed out to get them and a stop at Lowe’s for light bulbs and salt for the water softener. When I got home I filled the water softener and replaced the burned out light bulb. Then I joined Cheri who was watching a home improvement show. I tried to read but couldn’t stay awake. After a short nap I settled in to watch the NASCAR race. Cheri watched some before napping. After the race I got Cheri back into the leg machine. Fixed us an English muffin with peanut butter along with some apple sauce for Cheri and a fruit cup for me. Then we settled in to watch some shows we had recorded. Thank you God for us being able to attend church and Sunday school without leaving the house.
Gay Nov-7-20

I did my morning walk and
then got Cheri some early breakfast but only wanted a banana, I said what about
the cereal that goes with it. She said no because you need to go to the Hole in
One donut shop to get the usual Saturday morning breakfast. After I got Cheri
into her leg machine while I was shaving and getting cleaned up. After that she
spent the day in her recliner. At 10:30 am I went over to work on the kitchen
project. I came home at 12:15 pm to get Cheri and my lunch. Then back to work
until 3:30 pm, got about 90 percent of the demo done. I got Cheri back in the
leg machine while I took a shower and got cleaned up. Then got her back to the
recliner. I fixed vegetable soup that Ron and Sandy brought over along with a
cornbread muffin. Later while watching Gold Rush we had a bowl of ice cream. We
were both tired and went to bed earlier than usual. Thank you God for being
with us today and help Cheri continue with her rehab.
Gay Nov-6-20

Nothing too exciting
today. I spent some extra time with my morning prayers and was almost late
meeting Dennis for our morning walk. I had to walk pretty fast in order to get
to our meeting site. I had Cheri in the leg machine early this morning and so
today she is having more pain in her knee. The therapist came at 11:00 am and
checked her out and having her do some exercises. He was pleased as he could
see more movement in her knee. After lunch I got her all set up for a few hours
so I could go a couple of doors down to start on the kitchen project. So today
was demo day. I worked a while and then came home to check on Cheri and then
back to work. I quit at 3:30 pm and did get most of the wall down for a new
opening into the kitchen along with removing some cabinets. I am hoping to get
most of the demo done tomorrow. I fixed the leftover chili for supper. Ron and
Sandy brought us two containers of vegetable soup and bean soup along with blue
berry muffins, chocolate chip muffins, and cornbread muffins. This evening we
watch more home improvement shows we had recorded. Thank you God for a blessed
day and continue healing Cheri’s knee.

Yesterday I mentioned I
went to the grocery store for ice. Well what do you think happens when you
leave 30 pounds of ice in the car trunk overnight in Florida? Yep that was me.
I came home with the ice and went in the house sorting through the mail and
then checked on Cheri and completely forgot the ice. Cheri called for me before
6:00 am saying she was really hungry. So I fixed her a bowl of cereal with banana
and milk. She was cleaned up and in her recliner by 7:00 am. By 8:30 am I had
her leg wraps on and hooked to the ice machine. Then went out to take care of
the ice. I was surprised to find that about half of it was still ok. One good
thing the trunk had a molded rubber pan installed over the carpet which kept
the water from getting all over the trunk and into the wheel well. Still there
was a lot of things that did get wet, mostly cloth grocery bags. I got Cheri
into the knee machine twice today set at 35 percent. I went and checked out a
shed door for a party here in the park which needs to be sanded and repainted,
which I said I couldn’t do. I did three loads of laundry and also found time
for a couple naps which was supposed to be reading time. This evening I stayed
up to watch the Green Bay Packer’s football game. Thank you God for helping us
through another day.

Nothing much going on
today. I did make a trip to the bank, checked Larry and Denise’s house, and a
stop at the grocery store for ice. The rehab therapist came at 11:00 am and got
Cheri into the knee machine which moves the leg back and forth to strengthen
the muscles around the knee. She was in it for an hour at noon and then again
at 3:30 pm for an hour and a half. Needless to say she is in more pain this
evening. This evening I fixed a tator tot casserole that Pam and Mike brought
over. Cheri watched more movies that was recorded. I tried to read but couldn’t
stay awake. We even forgot to watch the Wednesday night church service. I guess
you could say it was a down day. Thank you God for getting us through this day.

I always leave for my walk
at 4:47 am in order to meet Dennis along the way and get home around 5:40 am.
Well this morning when I got home Cheri was up and washed her hair and gave
herself a sponge bath. The light headiness is pretty much over. Cheri got up
early so I could go for my Tuesday morning accountability group breakfast and
bible study. It was good to get back as I have missed being there. On the way
home I stopped and voted, I figured I would have to wait because when I went
for bible study there was a very long line waiting. Well when I got there the
line was gone and got right in without any waiting. Cheri had a very good day concerning
what she has been through. Cheri talked to the therapist and will be coming
tomorrow, we thought he was coming today. So the rehab will wait another day. I
also had a good day and got all the carport fencing up and everything back
inside, still have to rearrange everything behind the fence. Cheri watched a
few movies she had recorded. After I was done and showered I headed to the
recliner for a while and tried to read but that didn’t last very long as I end
up napping. For supper I fixed the last of the roast beef. We watched several episodes
of Cold Case Files. Thank you God for giving Cheri a better day.

Cheri was feeling much
better today and had a good apatite. Although she is still lightheaded, pretty
sure it is the Tylenol. Cheri had a 2:00 pm doctor’s appointment in Wesley
Chapel. The doctor was pleased as it looked much better and the swelling has gone
done some. She will be able to start rehab tomorrow. In my spare time I did
some house work. When I did get a chance to sit down and try to read I would
end up napping. I fixed us leftover roast beef with potatoes, carrots, and
onions for supper. Cheri went to bed early and I stayed up to watch the Buccaneers
football game but only lasted a short time before giving up and going to bed.
Thank you God for a good report on Cheri and now help her with the rehab.
Thanks again for prayers.

Hard to believe another month
has gone. Good news today. Cheri was able to be out of bed and in her recliner.
Still a little light headed and a queasy stomach. She did eat more today but
not ready for our Sunday pizza. We had some homemade beef vegetable soup from a
church friend. It was excellent and had a great flavor. At 10:00 am we stream
the church service. Pastor Randy message was from 2 Peter chapter 2 about False
Teachers and Their Destruction. How we are supposed to live and know the word,
without knowing the word how could we identify the false teachers? At 11:30 we
signed in to Face Book to watch the Sunday school lesson titled “God Acts” from
Isaiah 46:3-13. The one true God is incomparable; He will complete His plan to
save His people. Cheri slept some of the afternoon as I watched the NASCAR
race. For supper I fixed Cheri a bowl of tomato soup and I had an English
muffin with peanut butter. We also watched a couple of home repair shows. Thank
you God for being able to be part of the church service and Sunday school. Please
continue to pray for Cheri to gain strength and remove pain.

Happy Halloween to everyone.
We even had a Halloween golf cart parade go by the house late this afternoon. I
know Cheri is wasn’t feeling good this morning as I said I would go to the Hole
in One donut shop for the breakfast sandwich and cinnamon roll and she said
that she wasn’t ready for that. But she did have a better day eating and more
alert. I even got her to smile a couple of times. Although she is still light
headed and spent the day in bed with the ice machine and leg wraps. I worked
outside again today and got the rest of the fence gates reinstalled all that is
left is a couple sections of fence to install. I had to move the golf cart out
and was surprised that the batteries were still up (good news). I fixed the
rest of the spaghetti for supper for Cheri, it was the only thing that tasted
good to her. I had left over pork chop, mashed potatoes, and gravy. Later I had
a chocolate chip cookies that Mike brought over. Cheri watch TV in the bed room
and I tried to watch some in the living room but did more napping than
watching. Thank you God for helping us through this day and continue helping
Cheri heal.
